How to create custom social media graphics in PowerPoint

Engaging social media graphics are a key part of any digital strategy, but social media is a beast that always needs feeding! Online platforms constantly demand new, eye-catching content to keep your products or services at the forefront of your customers’ attention. If you’re a small business or freelancer, keeping on top of social media postings can seem like an impossible task. But you don’t need a crack team of graphic designers for every Instagram post. You have everything you need with PowerPoint. This article will show you how to make custom social media graphics in PowerPoint by leveraging some of our favorite PowerPoint tools and our free productivity and design add in BrightSlide.

Why use PowerPoint? There’s plenty of online content creation software out there and options like Canva are popular due to their pre-built components which help users develop content quickly. However, there are a few downsides to many of these tools:

  • You run the risk of your content looking like everyone else’s.
  • The animation options tend to be limited.
  • Lots of features, including branding options (like custom color palettes), are often only available with premium membership.

The likelihood is you already have PowerPoint and have some experience in using it. Not having to start learning a new program from scratch means you can start creating custom social media graphics straight away and don’t have to worry about watermarks or poor-quality exports from free versions of an unfamiliar software.

Today, I’ll be walking you through how to create an Instagram post in PowerPoint. Let’s get started!

Choose post size

Though PowerPoint is best known for presentations, you can actually set the slide size to anything you want. To do this, go to the Design tab, navigate to Slide Size and select Custom Slide Size from the drop-down menu. Here you can choose from pre-set slide sizes or set your own.

Instagram posts can be square (1:1 ratio), portrait (4:5 ratio), or landscape (1.9:1 ratio). As a portrait image or video takes up the most space on the screen it’s a good option for engaging causal scrollers. Bear in mind that you want your slide to be nice and big, so the quality is high when you export it as an image, video or GIF. For this project we’ve chosen 40cm x 50cm. This post is a great reference for the ideal images sizes for popular social media sites .

Set up your slide

Before you start placing objects on your slide, you need to set yourself up for success. One part of this is setting up a grid to help you design well proportioned, balanced slides. Read more about the importance of grid and guides . You can create guides in PowerPoint by right clicking on your slide and clicking Grid and Guides then Guides . You can add individual guide lines using the same drop-down menu.

Positioning these guides, however, can be tricky as there is no mathematical way to make sure they are in the right place. The easiest way to create accurate guides is to download our free PowerPoint design and productivity add-in BrightSlide . Using its Guides tool, select Create Guides , choose the number of columns and rows you want, and watch the guidelines change in real time – BrightSlide does all the calculation for you!

You also need to set your theme colors to make sure your post fits with your brand’s visual identity. To set the theme colors in PowerPoint head to the Design tab and under the Variants section, select Colors , then Customize Colors.

Click on one of the colors and select More Colors . You can choose from the color wheel or input your own RGB values. You can then name your new theme colors. Click here for a more detailed look at theme colors.

Prepare your images

Eye-catching imagery is important for grabbing users’ attention with your social media graphics. If you don’t have lots of high quality photography of your own, consider using stock photography sites like iStock and Shutterstock or discover the wonders of free photography sites like Unsplash . We have a great list of other free design resources here .

Once you’ve got hold of some great imagery there are a few ways you can edit it in PowerPoint.

Crop to shape

You can crop your images to any shape in PowerPoint – including a custom shape if you want to get creative. To crop to shape, go to the Picture Format tab and under the Crop dropdown menu select Crop to Shape and then select the shape you want to use.

To get a more precise crop, insert your image and then insert the shape you want to use by going to Insert>Shapes . Place the shape over the area of the picture you want to keep, select the image, then the shape and use the Intersect Boolean tool to cut out that section. You can copy and paste the image multiple times to cut out various sections. See more on custom image cropping .

Remove background

If you just want to use the main section of an image you can remove the background. There are a couple of ways to do this. One is using the Remove background tool in PowerPoint; you can find this under the Picture Format tab. Unfortunately, the tool is a bit hit and miss. If your image has a person in it then remove.bg is a great alternative background remover you can use for free.

You could also use the PowerPoint Freeform Shape tool, and the Boolean crop technique described above to cut out a larger section of your image. This is a little more time consuming but can generate great results.

Custom social media graphic layout

Now we can get on with creating the content, adding in text and shapes to make an eye-catching design. Remember to use your guide lines to place your content with care. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out the social media graphics your favorite brands post or browse design inspiration sites like Behance . Because social media graphics are typically viewed on a phone screen, you want to keep it simple without too much text to make sure you get your message across.

Our example uses simple PowerPoint shapes and the Boolean tools to create custom shapes – clouds. Simply place the shapes on your slide, overlapping slightly, select them, then use the Union Boolean tool to create one new shape.

You can then change the fill and outline color of your new shape. We’ve used a slight gradient to create fluffy clouds.

Export social media graphic as image or animate

At this point you can choose to save the slide as an image. Go to File > Save As then change the file type to JPG . This will save each slide as a separate image.

Alternatively, you can add some animation flourishes to help your post stand out from the crowd. When you’re animating you want to keep it simple (nobody needs to see the boomerang animation…ever!), animations like Fade , Fly In and Zoom can all look great. Alternatively, BrightSlide has a built-in animation library you can pull animation combinations from to add a little professional polish to your slide. Go to the BrightSlide tab then select My Animations .

Export social media graphic as video or GIF

If you’ve taken the animation route, then the final step is to export your custom social media graphic. First, record your slide to time out the animations. Go to the Slideshow tab and hit Record Slide Show .

Once you’re happy with the timings, click File > Export > Export as Video or Create Animated GIF.

How to Create an Instagram Slideshow Post

The steps for assembling an Instagram slideshow post are pretty simple. You can start by tapping the “+” button at the bottom of your screen and selecting the “album” icon. From there, you can pick up to 10 photos or videos from your phone’s library.

Each photo or video can be edited separately with its own filter, or you can apply a filter to all the photos and videos you’ve selected. Also, you can only add one location and caption for your entire post.

You can also change the order of a photo or video by tap-and-holding the media item and dragging it to another spot. To remove a photo or video from your post, tap-and-hold and drag it to the “trash” icon at the top of the screen.

When someone likes or comments on any of your photos or videos in your slideshow post, it will appear below the cover image. This could be a little confusing at first glance as comments may appear to not have a link with the cover image!

In feed, you’ll see blue dots at the bottom of slideshow posts to let you know you can swipe to see more. In grid view, slideshow posts are recognized by a “multiple image” icon in the right-hand corner of the thumbnail.

1 . Create Before & After Sequences

The ability to combine up to 10 photos and videos into a single post makes Instagram slideshow posts the perfect outlet to share before-and-after sequences — which is ideal for users in the makeup, fashion, interior design, or fitness & health industries!

To create before-and-after sequence using Instagram slideshow posts, simply select your photos or videos in the correct order, write an engaging Instagram caption , and then post to Instagram. You can even share multiple before-and-after sequences in a single slideshow post if you want to highlight specific aspects of your before-and-after!

How to Post a Slideshow to Instagram & What People Think of the Latest Update

The Brandwatch React team reports on the reception of the latest Instagram update and shows you how to post a slideshow to Instagram.

Instagram’s latest update means users can now share multiple photos and videos in one post, but how has that gone down?

Post a Slideshow to Instagram

While this kind of content has been available to brands for a while  in the form of carousel ads, regular users are now able to try it out for the first time.

The React team wanted to find out what people thought of the new update, so took to the social data. We found hundreds of people talking about it, and have included the highlights from their conversations as well as a peppering of commentary from the Brandwatch marketing team throughout this article.

First, here’s how to post a slideshow to Instagram

Here’s how you do it:

  • Hit the plus button like you usually would to add a photo or video
  • In the photo window look out for the “select multiple” button
  • Choose up to 10 photos or videos to share with your followers
  • Edit the order and add filters to each photo/apply a filter to the whole group
  • Write a caption, tag people, add a location – all that jazz
  • You’re done!

What do people think so far?

The update offers answers to a number of user gripes with the platform. Where it was previously a place for only the best, people are now able to post a selection of images without having to worry so much about having just one quality image. In fact, Instagram’s explanation that “you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember” was one of the trending phrases in the data surrounding the new update.

There were multiple comparisons between the Stories and slideshow features in the data. Where Instagram Stories are available outside of the feed, slideshows mean users can quickly flick through the post and then move on as opposed to clicking in and out of individual stories.

Wired’s positive review of the update was amongst the top-shared links, with David Pearce claiming “It’s going to make Instagram even more fun to browse.”

The article contains a warning. As social media platforms battle to become the place people go for everything, “Given its user base, Instagram is probably smart to give people everything they want so they’ll never leave. Yet it seems fair to wonder if, in doing so, Instagram might lose what made it so wonderful in the first place.” Given the general reviews of this update seem positive so far, the potentially negative effects remain to be seen.

Great uses of slideshows so far

Now it’s been rolled out properly, the new capabilities are an exciting prospect for marketers. It’s going to start with a scramble.

“Its a larger canvas for brands to market on with new possibilities for creativity. Like with all new tech and features, the strategy will come later. Brands will rush to explore what’s possible and once someone establishes what works others will copy.”

Now brands can target multiple personas with a single post, showing off different aspects of their product that will appeal to different segments of their following without spamming people.

View this post on Instagram Key Lime Pie With Toasted Marshmallow Meringue INGREDIENTS 10 graham crackers 7 tablespoons butter, melted ¼ cup brown sugar 6 eggs, separated Lime zest 1 14-ounce can condensed milk ½ pint vanilla ice cream ½ cup key lime juice *(Regular lime juice works just fine if key lime juice is unavailable)* 1 tablespoon light corn syrup 1 cup sugar PREPARATION Preheat oven to 350˚F/180˚C. Place graham crackers in plastic bag and crush them into a fine crumb using a rolling pin. Alternatively, a food processor can be used to crush the crackers. Pour the graham cracker crumbs into a medium bowl with the melted butter and brown sugar. Mix until the crumbs take on the character of a coarse, wet sand. Pour the crumbs into a 9-inch pie dish. Press the crumb firmly into the dish, making sure to coat the bottom and sides of the dish evenly. Once the crust has been formed, place the pie dish into the refrigerator to firm up. Separate 6 eggs. Working with the yolks (reserve the whites for later), add the zest of 1 lime and whisk, either by hand or with an electric mixer, for 2 minutes. Add the can of condensed milk and continue to whisk until mixture is smooth and has a pale yellow color. Add in the ice cream and key lime juice. Continue to whisk for an additional 3-5 minutes. The filling should be smooth and airy when finished. Pour the filling mixture into the refrigerated graham cracker crust and bake at 350˚F/180˚C for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges of the crust begin to brown and the filling no longer jiggles when disturbed. While the pie is baking, combine the reserved egg whites with corn syrup and about ¼ cup of the sugar and begin to whisk vigorously to form the meringue. Continue to add the sugar in small increments until all of it is incorporated. Continue to whisk until mixture thickens and stiff peaks form, about 7-10 minutes. Top the baked pie with the meringue. Using a rubber spatula, spread the meringue evenly over the top of the pie, making sure to cover all the visible areas of filling. Once covered, use the tip of the spatula to shape the meringue forming small peaks a valleys in the topping. Another plus-point is the ability to upload lengthier videos. Adding each 1 minute clip to a slideshow means up to 10 minutes of ongoing video is possible in a single post.

Influencers

According to HollywoodBranded.com , Kim Kardashian charges around $250k for a branded Instagram post. Will being able to post multiple images mean rates are reduced if your product is featured on the 9th or 10th swipe? Perhaps a Kardashian endorsement will become more affordable (though they might not be all they cracked up to be ).

Le nom d’utilisateur et le nom permettent tous les deux d’identifier votre compte et de le différencier d’un autre.

Notez que votre nom d’utilisateur doit être unique . Personne d’autre ne peut avoir le même que vous.

Comment choisir votre nom d’utilisateur ?

Ne vous prenez pas trop la tête avec ça. Il s’agit le plus souvent d’un pseudonyme, de votre nom complet ou du nom de votre entreprise.

Il faut aussi savoir que le nom d’utilisateur et le nom sont les 2 seuls éléments avec lesquels on peut vous trouver lorsqu’on fait une recherche sur Instagram.

Par exemple, si je recherche « restaurant healthy », je tombe sur les comptes de plusieurs établissements, dont ceux des DS Cafés de Paris et de Bordeaux. Tous deux ont choisi d’inclure dans leur nom Instagram “Restaurant healthy”.

Tous les autres éléments ne permettent pas de vous trouver grâce à la fonctionnalité de recherche d’Instagram.

Cela ne sert donc à rien de « bourrer » votre bio de mots-clés dans le seul but d’apparaître dans davantage de résultats de recherches (cela ne veut pas dire que vous ne devez pas utiliser de mots-clés ! Nous verrons pourquoi plus loin).

Pour augmenter vos chances d’apparaître dans les résultats de recherches, vous pouvez insérer un mot-clé dans votre nom.

Par exemple, je pourrais rajouter un mot-clé qui présente ma spécialisation, en plus de mon nom.

De cette façon, un utilisateur pourrait me retrouver en faisant une recherche sur :

  • Mon nom ou une partie de mon nom
  • Le mot clé « Expert Facebook »

Évidemment, si vous êtes une marque déjà bien connue dans votre industrie, choisissez votre nom de marque aussi bien pour votre nom que votre nom d’utilisateur.

Expliquer qui vous êtes et décrire ce que vous faites

Dans votre bio Instagram, vous avez 150 caractères pour expliquer qui vous êtes, décrire ce que vous faites, et susciter l’envie de cliquer sur l’un de vos liens.

Vous le savez peut-être déjà : “qui vous êtes” et “ce que vous faites” constituent, une fois ensemble, votre proposition de valeur. En quelques caractères, dans votre bio Insta, les utilisateurs doivent comprendre…

  • Qui vous êtes et ce que vous pouvez apporter à votre audience cible
  • Ce qui vous rend unique et différent des autres

Vous vous doutez que, selon votre activité, la façon de vous présenter sera bien différente…

L’incubateur de start-ups The Family fait ça très bien.

La proposition de valeur de The Family est bien mise en avant

« Tout le monde peut devenir entrepreneur. The Family propose des formations, des services et du financement pour les fondateurs ambitieux, quels qu’ils soient. ».

Pas mal, non ?

En tant que lecteur, je comprends en un instant ce qu’ils font et POURQUOI je devrais suivre ce compte.

Un autre exemple : le compte Instagram de Buffer .

L’entreprise se décrit comme la meilleure plateforme de gestion des réseaux sociaux pour vous aider à construire votre marque et engager vos clients en ligne.

Si vous êtes coach ou consultant, votre bio devrait plutôt se focaliser sur vos compétences en plus de ce que vous faites.

Par exemple :

Simple et précis.

Nous verrons plus loin comment structurer votre bio de cette manière.

Mais encore ?

Il y a beaucoup de coachs sportifs sur Instagram.

Elle aide les femmes à rester en forme avant et après l’accouchement (fitness pre/post natal). Elle apporte même une crédibilité supplémentaire à son domaine de spécialité puisqu’elle indique qu’elle est mère de deux enfants elle-même.

C’est mieux.

Inclure les bons mots-clés

Je vous disais qu’Instagram se sert uniquement de votre nom et nom d’utilisateur pour la recherche.

Cela ne veut pas dire que vous ne devriez pas insérer des mots-clés dans votre bio.

Parce qu’il s’agit bien là de mots- clés .

Il peut s’agir de mots qu’utilise au quotidien votre audience, des valeurs de votre marque, de vos passions ou encore de vos spécialités comme nous l’avons vu.

Le mieux est que je vous montre quelques exemples.

Si vous avez une vision précise de vos buyer personas , alors vous devriez le mentionner sans ambiguïté dans votre bio.

Par exemple, le magazine Foundr n’est pas pour tout le monde. C’est un magazine qui s’adresse à des entrepreneurs et fondateurs de start-ups.

Créez une bio Instagram originale, mais qui parle à vos cibles

Utiliser des mots-clés qui ciblent un petit segment de marché (niche) aide les utilisateurs qui visitent votre profil à en savoir plus sur vous, ce que vous faites et si votre profil est pertinent par rapport à leurs besoins ou challenges.

Une bio Instagram bien structurée sur le compte de FAGUO

« B Corp member » indique l’engagement environnemental de l’entreprise FAGUO. « Recycled materials », l’éco-responsabilité de ses produits. « 🌳 planted for each FAGUO », son élément différenciant : le fait que la marque plante un arbre à chaque commande.

Cette bio parle seulement à un segment de marché intéressé par les vêtements éco-responsables. Je ne suis même pas sûr que la notion de « B Corp » soit connu de tous !

Donc, pensez-y en écrivant votre bio. Choisissez soigneusement chaque mot de votre bio de façon à ce que la personne qui lit ces mots se dise « ce compte Instagram est fait pour moi ».

C’est ce que j’ai essayé de faire quand j’ai écrit la bio de mon compte Instagram.

J’ai ajouté des mots clés comme :

  • Publicité Facebook

Tous ces mots décrivent qui je suis et ce que je fais, mais je veux être sûr que mon audience cible pourrait s’y identifier. Je veux seulement attirer les bonnes personnes.

Contenir un lien cliquable

Pour terminer, votre bio doit ABSOLUMENT contenir un lien cliquable.

Instagram est plutôt strict quant à l’utilisation des liens sur la plateforme.

Vous pouvez seulement insérer un seul lien cliquable dans votre bio et des liens dans vos Stories si vous avez plus de 10.000 abonnés ou un compte vérifié par Instagram.

Ce lien cliquable, c’est aussi la suite logique de la première partie de votre bio qui vous décrit.

Si vous avez bien fait votre travail, la personne qui a lu votre bio originale aura envie d’en savoir plus sur vous, si elle ne vous connaît pas encore.

Pour cette raison, vous devriez inclure un lien cliquable d’ appel à l’action .

Toutes les bios que je vous ai montrées contenaient une courte phrase ou un simple verbe d’action qui invite l’utilisateur à visiter votre site web, votre page Facebook , …

Bref, la plateforme que vous souhaitez.

Si vous êtes blogueur , vous pourriez faire un lien vers votre blog ou votre dernier billet.

Si vous possédez un e-commerce , vous pourriez envoyer du trafic vers votre boutique, votre nouvelle collection, une page avec des produits en promo, etc. (un conseil : si vous offrez la livraison gratuite ou proposez la livraison à l’étranger, mentionnez-le).

Voici un bon exemple.

La marque Flair propose des bodys made in France, mais précise partout dans le monde.

Un exemple de call-to-action pertinent

Si vous êtes coach ou consultant, vous pourriez profiter de ce lien unique pour promouvoir votre newsletter, un guide téléchargeable, ou une session gratuite de coaching stratégique. C’est une bonne façon de générer des prospects.

Promouvoir un contenu dans votre bio Instagram peut être une bonne idée

Vous pouvez également utiliser une flèche qui pointe vers le bas pour attirer l’attention sur le lien dans votre bio, comme le fait Flore ci-dessus.

Si vous souhaitez savoir exactement le nombre de personnes qui sont arrivées sur votre site web ou toute autre page, vous pourriez aussi ajouter des paramètres  UTMs à votre lien pour savoir exactement d’où vient le trafic dans Google Analytics .

C’est un peu long et difficile à lire, non ?

Heureusement, on peut raccourcir ce (long) lien avec  Bit.ly .

Il est plus court et c’est celui-ci que je pourrai insérer dans mon profil Instagram.

De cette façon, je peux suivre dans Google Analytics les personnes qui arrivent sur mon site par ce lien.

Encore mieux, je peux savoir si elles convertissent ou non (si et seulement si j’ai installé les objectifs dans Google Analytics ).

Il y a de nombreuses façons d’utiliser le lien dans votre bio. Nous verrons plus loin dans cet article d’autres astuces pour vous servir au mieux de ce lien et optimiser vos appels à l’action.

Choisir votre catégorie Instagram

Si vous possédez un compte professionnel Instagram, vous pouvez choisir d’afficher sur votre profil une catégorie à laquelle votre entreprise appartient .

Cette catégorie permet également de mieux vous référencer sur la plateforme , mais aussi d’ indiquer directement et clairement à vos cibles qui vous êtes .

Voyez donc ce que cela donne sur le profil d’Alex Borto, fondateur du blog WPMarmite :

Le mot “Entrepreneur”, écrit en gris, est bien la catégorie qu’Alex a choisie pour son profil.

Il existe de multiples catégories : entrepreneur, blog personnel, produit / service, art, musicien, coach personnel… A vous de choisir celle qui représente le mieux ce que vous offrez à vos cibles !

Pour sélectionner votre catégorie, rien de plus simple : rendez-vous dans les paramètres de votre compte Instagram pro, et sélectionnez “Catégorie”.

La bio Instagram du compte d'Optical Center

Sur le compte officiel d’Optical Center, vous pouvez par exemple “Appeler” le SAV de l’entreprise en un simple clic.

Pour ajouter vos coordonnées à votre bio Instagram, rendez-vous dans vos paramètres de compte, puis sélectionnez “ Options de communication ”. Vous pourrez alors y entrer les éléments de contact que vous souhaitez.

Comment ajouter vos coordonnées à votre profil Instagram

Si vous voulez que ces coordonnées s’affichent à même votre profil, rendez-vous de nouveau dans “Affichage du profil”, pour cocher l’option “Afficher les coordonnées” .

Des boutons apparaîtront alors en haut de votre profil, proposant à vos cibles de vous envoyer directement un email, un SMS, voire de vous appeler.

Très utile pour rapidement donner la possibilité à vos clients potentiels de vous joindre !

2) Comment rendre votre bio Instagram irrésistible ?

En suivant les premiers conseils que je vous ai donnés, vous devriez avoir une bio à la fois attirante et originale.

Mais comment la rendre irrésistible ?

Parce que l’on peut toujours mieux faire …

Utiliser des sauts de ligne

Les sauts de ligne permettent de rendre votre bio plus facilement lisible afin de mettre en avant des éléments importants dans votre bio.

Cela vous permet aussi de diviser votre bio en différentes sections, par exemple :

  • Une ligne pour vous décrire
  • Une ligne pour rajouter vos spécialités/centres d’intérêt/mots-clés
  • Une ligne qui contient votre appel à l’action

Comment obtenir ce rendu ?

  • Sur mobile : cliquez sur la touche « Retour » pour faire un saut de ligne.
  • Sur ordinateur : Appuyez simplement sur la touche d’entrée.

Assez simple, mais terriblement efficace pour rendre votre bio facilement « scannable ».

Ajouter quelques emojis 

Cela rejoint mon point précédent.

En complément des sauts de ligne, vous pourriez également rajouter des emojis devant chaque ligne pour aider (encore plus) l’utilisateur à lire votre bio. 

Vous pourriez aussi en ajouter pour séparer le texte si vous ne faites pas de saut de ligne.

Enfin, vous pouvez tout simplement vous en servir pour donner une touche de personnalité à votre bio .

Voici quelques exemples :

Intégrez des emojis pour faire passer vos messages plus aisément

Vous remarquez comme la bio est bien organisée et chaque emoji vient donner du contexte à chaque ligne.

Dans l’exemple suivant, on remarque que la marque Ikea a utilisé des emojis pour mettre en avant son engagement éco-responsable :

Pour les trouver, faites un clic droit dans votre éditeur de texte et cliquez sur « emojis et symboles » dans le menu qui apparaît. Et là, comme par magie, vous trouverez tous les emojis, symboles et puces que vous souhaitez 🙂

Les emojis font partie du langage sur les réseaux sociaux : utilisez-les avec parcimonie et seulement si cela correspond à votre image de marque.

Rajouter votre hashtag de marque ou un autre nom d’utilisateur

Saviez-vous que vous pouvez également rajouter des hashtags ou des noms d’utilisateurs dans votre bio ?

C’est une superbe opportunité pour mettre en avant un hashtag de marque , promouvoir un concours ou collecter du contenu généré par les utilisateurs  (CGU).

Par exemple, le compte de la marque Curve d’ASOS, dédiée aux vêtements “plus-size”, profite de sa bio pour indiquer le hashtag que ses clients peuvent utiliser pour les identifier dans leurs posts, où ils portent leurs produits.

Le CGU est l’une des formes de preuve sociale les plus utilisées sur les réseaux sociaux. C’est aussi l’un des contenus les plus crédibles sur Internet.

9 consommateurs en ligne sur 10  ont plus confiance en du CGU que de la publicité traditionnelle, c’est dire !

Les marques de mode en profitent énormément pour republier sur leur compte les photos de leurs clients.

De la même façon, vous pourriez mentionner le nom d’utilisateur d’autres comptes Instagram dans la bio de votre compte perso ou celui de votre entreprise.

  • Mentionner votre nom dans la bio du profil de votre entreprise si vous souhaitez développer votre personal branding
  • Mentionner d’autres entreprises qui vous appartiennent
  • Mentionner votre blog si vous avez un compte Instagram dédié à celui-ci
  • Mentionner les comptes Instagram avec lesquelles vous avez un partenariat (i.e. influenceurs et marques)

Insérez vos autres comptes de marque dans votre bio

Dans cet exemple, GaryVee en profite pour tagguer les comptes de ses entreprises-clés.

Rajouter vos horaires d’ouverture

Si vous êtes un commerce local, profitez de votre bio pour rajouter vos horaires d’ouverture.

Cela ne nous coûte rien et c’est évidemment pertinent par rapport à votre activité.

De cette façon, vous facilitez la vie de vos abonnés qui n’auront pas besoin d’aller rechercher sur Google vos horaires d’ouverture.

Inspirer votre audience avec votre slogan ou une citation

Avez-vous un slogan ou une citation que vous aimez tout particulièrement ?

Si oui, n’hésitez pas à le (la) mentionner dans votre bio.

Par exemple, Nike a repris son célèbre slogan « Just do it » dans sa bio.

Et cela fait sens quand on observe les contenus que la marque poste sur les réseaux sociaux : storytelling, conseils pour bien pratiquer le sport, accomplissements de ses athlètes …

Starbucks fait la même chose, en rappelant sa mission (qu’on appelle aussi « purpose ») : « To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time. ».

Obtenez, si possible, un badge “vérifié”

Si vous utilisez régulièrement Instagram, vous suivez déjà sans doute bon nombre de comptes qui présentent ce fameux badge “vérifié”.

Mais si, vous savez bien : ce petit tick bleu que seules les célébrités semblent pouvoir arborer sur leur profil :

Sachez-le : pas besoin d’avoir des millions de personnes qui vous reconnaissent dans la rue pour obtenir ce fameux badge. Une marque, même assez peu célèbre, mais bien installée dans son marché, peut tout à fait se le procurer.

Alors pourquoi pas essayer avec votre propre compte de marque ?

Pour ce faire, rendez-vous dans vos paramètres, et cliquez sur “ Demander une vérification ”.

Obtenez un compte Instagram vérifié

La plateforme vous demandera ensuite de remplir quelques informations, et notamment de fournir une pièce justificative liée à votre entreprise, pour vérifier que le compte est bien lié à une société réelle.

Il suffit par la suite d’attendre le verdict d’Instagram !

Fournir de la preuve sociale

La preuve sociale vous aide à apparaître plus crédible et gagner la confiance des personnes qui vous connaissent encore peu. C’est un principe psychologique puissant qu’utilisent la plupart des entreprises.

Sur Internet, on la retrouve sous la forme de :

  • Témoignages
  • Logos des marques avec lesquelles vous avez travaillé
  • Évaluations et avis clients
  • Recommandations sur les réseaux sociaux
  • Parutions dans les médias

On les retrouve souvent sur des landing pages , pages produits ou pages de vente .

Rien ne vous empêche de l’utiliser aussi dans votre bio Instagram (n’ayez pas peur de vous vanter un peu, on ne vous en voudra pas !).

Neil Patel ne manque pas de rappeler dans la bio de son compte Instagram à quel point il est un entrepreneur à succès :

  • Auteur d’un best-seller dans le NY Times
  • Top 100 des entrepreneurs de moins de 30 ans par Obama (rien que ça !).

La bio Instagram de Neil Pater est un exemple-type de

FAGUO, elle aussi, décide de mettre en avant de la preuve sociale, en affichant le nombre d’arbres plantés depuis le lancement de son initiative éco-responsable. Une manière discrète mais efficace de montrer l’implication de sa clientèle.

Ajouter une incentive pour augmenter le taux de clic du lien de votre bio

Je reviens sur l’utilisation des appels à l’action pour amener du trafic vers votre site web à partir du lien de votre bio.

Malheureusement, si vous ne donnez pas une bonne raison à la personne de cliquer sur le lien, elle ne cliquera probablement pas dessus.

Pour cela, votre appel à l’action doit être irrésistible.

Évitez donc d’écrire des phrases bateaux comme « visitez mon site web » ou « achetez ».

Vous pouvez mieux faire.

Par exemple, HelloBody décrit précisément ce qu’ils font dans la 1ère phrase de leur bio Instagram.

Sur la deuxième ligne, la marque propose aux utilisateurs un coupon de réduction de -20%.

C’est ce qu’on appelle une bonne incentive !

Les coupons de ce genre fonctionnent très bien pour acquérir de nouveaux clients.

Hello Body fait la même chose en offrant un code promo de 10% avec le code « INSTA10 ».

Le nom du code renforce l’idée que cette réduction est uniquement disponible en passant par leur compte Instagram.

En résumé : Si vous avez quelque chose à offrir, que ce soit un ebook gratuit ou la livraison gratuite pour les premières commandes, prenez soin de le mentionner dans votre appel à l’action !

Utiliser Linktree pour promouvoir plusieurs liens

Pour terminer cette série de conseils, sachez que vous pouvez utiliser un outil gratuit comme Linktree pour promouvoir plusieurs liens.

Le principe est simple :

  • Vous vous inscrivez sur la plateforme
  • Vous créez votre lien Linktree
  • Vous rajoutez autant de liens que vous le souhaitez

Copiez-collez ensuite le lien linktree dans votre bio Instagram et voilà, vous avez mis en avant plusieurs liens.

Je vous mentionne cette technique dans cet article parce que cela peut vous servir, mais cela ne veut pas dire que je la cautionne totalement.

Quand vous êtes clair sur votre objectif, vous savez qu’un seul lien est suffisant.

Par exemple, si vous voulez utiliser Instagram pour faire de l’acquisition de prospects/clients, le choix d’un lien unique est évident.

Pourquoi en utiliser plusieurs ?

Si vous voulez augmenter le nombre d’inscrits à votre newsletter, là encore le lien de votre page d’opt-in est suffisant.

Pensez à votre bio Instagram comme la page d’accueil de votre site web.

Si vous mettez en avant 10 appels à l’action différents, que risque de faire l’utilisateur ?

Il y a des chances qu’il ne fasse rien du tout parce qu’il ne sait pas ce que vous voulez qu’il fasse.

Bien sûr, vous pouvez choisir d’utiliser Linktree pour promouvoir vos autres comptes sociaux ou toute autre page sur votre site web. À mon sens, ce n’est pas le plus important.

Si vous le faites, évitez d’insérer plus de 3 liens différents au risque d’embrouiller l’utilisateur 🙂

3) Perfectionner votre bio Instagram avec les Stories à la une

Depuis maintenant plusieurs années, il est possible d’enregistrer vos Stories Instagram “à la une”. Le principe : plutôt que de disparaître après 24 heures, vos Stories se retrouvent en haut de votre profil, juste sous votre bio Instagram, aussi longtemps que vous le souhaitez.

Pour que votre compte Instagram ait l’air professionnel, il s’agit cependant de bien appliquer ces quelques conseils.

Soyez stratégique dans votre choix de Stories à la une

À nouveau, pensez à votre bio Instagram comme la page d’accueil de votre site internet où vous énoncez votre proposition de valeur suivi d’un appel à l’action.

Dans cette logique, les Stories à la une représentent les pages de votre site. Elles apparaissent juste en dessous de votre bio.

Regardez comme le compte français d’HelloFresh les utilise stratégiquement, pour mettre en avant, d’une part, ses menus actuels, et d’autre part, une sorte de FAQ sur ses box de nourriture :

En cliquant sur la story à la une, vous découvrez de beaux visuels, bien conçus, qui expliquent le concept de l’entreprise, et répond aux questions les plus fréquemment posées sur ses produits.

En somme, faites attention à ne pas mettre tout et n’importe quoi au risque d’embrouiller l’utilisateur. Soyez stratégique et ajoutez seulement l’essentiel pour décrire votre marque/personne.

Donnez des noms attractifs à vos Stories à la une

Pour donner envie à vos utilisateurs de consulter vos Stories à la une, veillez également à bien choisir le texte qui s’affiche en-dessous de chacune de ces Stories.

Par exemple, si vous possédez un site e-commerce avec plusieurs pages, vous pourriez avoir des Stories à la une pour présenter les best-sellers de chaque collection, dont les noms seront : hauts, pantalons, chemises…

Si vous êtes consultant, vous pourriez avoir plusieurs Stories à la une :

  • À propos : pour parler de votre histoire, de votre personnalité, etc.
  • Blog : pour parler de votre blog
  • Services : pour promouvoir vos services
  • Newsletter : pour mettre en avant votre newsletter

Soignez les noms de vos stories à la Une

Voilà un conseil-phare si vous voulez vous assurer que votre bio Instagram ait l’air vraiment professionnelle et attractive ! Instagram est par définition le réseau social du visuel : montrez à vos cibles que vous y portez une attention toute particulière.

Par exemple, dans mes propres Stories à la une, j’ai opté pour un fond orange (la couleur-phare de ma charte graphique), assorti de pictogrammes qui représentent chacune des catégories de Stories :

Pour atteindre ce type de résultats, il vous faudra concevoir des visuels, par exemple avec un outil simple comme Canva.

Car, automatiquement, Instagram vous propose d’utiliser comme photo de couverture un aperçu de l’une de vos Stories à la une… pas top, comme résultat, en règle générale !

Utilisez donc la taille standard des Stories Instagram (1080 x 1920 px), et créez un beau visuel, qui met en avant les couleurs de votre marque. Veillez à ce que l’élément que vous voulez voir apparaître se trouve bien au milieu de votre image.

Puis importez ce visuel en couverture de votre story à la une … Et voilà !

Limitez le nombre de Stories dans chaque catégorie que vous créez

Si vous êtes un adepte des Stories, il peut être tentant de les sauvegarder “à la une” de manière fréquente. Je sais combien il peut être frustrant de voir disparaître un contenu éphémère que vous avez parfois mis longtemps à concevoir !

Mais là encore, attention à bien être stratégique. L’objectif de vos Stories à la une sont bien de donner envie à vos utilisateurs de les regarder en entier… et si les vôtres contiennent 70 Stories individuelles, il y a peu de chance qu’elles soient toutes visionnées.

Ainsi, quitte à les mettre régulièrement à jour, limitez-vous à une quinzaine de Stories par story à la une. Vous vous assurerez ainsi que tout votre contenu sera consommé par vos followers.

En seulement 150 caractères , votre bio Instagram doit être capable de communiquer :

  • Qui vous êtes et ce que vous faites : pourquoi devrait-on vous suivre ?
  • Inciter vos nouveaux followers à cliquer sur le lien unique de votre bio : avez-vous ajouté un appel à l’action ?

Nous avons vu aussi à quel point les mots-clés que vous utilisez dans votre bio sont importants pour établir un lien personnel avec la personne qui lit ces mots, mais aussi pour préciser à qui vous vous adressez. 

Ensuite, c’est à vous de voir si vous voulez ajouter de la personnalité à votre bio en ajoutant des emojis, un slogan ou une citation et de la preuve sociale.

Pensez aussi à rajouter votre hashtag de marque pour promouvoir un concours, une campagne marketing ou récolter du CGU.

Enfin, prenez le temps d’ajouter des Stories à la une pour compléter votre bio Instagram !

Mon dernier conseil et peut-être l’un des plus importants : Vérifiez régulièrement que votre bio Instagram est toujours alignée avec le reste de votre stratégie marketing .

Les propositions de valeur et les offres de votre entreprise mutent avec le temps ; et votre bio doit pouvoir muter avec elles ! Imaginez que vous lancez un concours, que vous le promouvez dans votre bio… mais que vous oubliez de le retirer une fois le concours fini. Rien de pire pour saper votre image professionnelle, n’est-ce pas ?

Bonjour, Article super intéressant merci.

Le seul hic est que lorsque j’essaie d’ajouter ma spécialisation dans le nom ou le nom d’utilisateur, je ne peux pas car on ne peut aller au-delà de 30 caractères. Dans ton exemple, lorsque tu rajoutes « expert facebook » à ton nom et prénom, tu dépasses aussi les 30 caractères.

Peut être qu’Instagram a restreint son nombre de caractères entre ton billet et ma remarque…

Je ne peux rien ajouter avec cette restriction malheureusement.

C’est bizarre Gaëlle, Instagram change tout le temps …

Qu’est-ce que la mise en page Instagram ?

Pour pouvoir traiter le sujet au mieux, il est important de définir clairement ce que veut dire « mise en page Instagram ». Est-ce que nous parlons de la mise en page d’un profil ? La mise en page d’un post Instagram ? Ou simplement la mise en page du texte de bio Instagram ? Et bien la réponse est : un peu de tout ça. En effet, la mise en page peut être appliquée à tous ces éléments. Nous allons donc les traiter un par un. Si nous devrions donc donner une  définition claire de la mise en page Instagram , celle-ci serait : l’opération de disposition de tout éléments graphique sur le réseau social Instagram.

Comment faire la mise en page de sa bio Instagram ?

La bio Instagram est un des éléments-clés pour  convaincre vos visiteurs de vous suivre . Vous devez donc la soigner pour que celle-ci soit convaincante. Cela passe par une bonne mise en page. Comment faire la mise en page d’un post Instagram ?

Lorsque l’on parle de  mettre en page son IG , on peut également parler de la mise en page de son post Instagram. Un élément totalement différent des biographies Insta. Votre description de post est un élément important pour votre engagement Instagram. Elles permettent d’apporter plus de valeur à votre publication. Mais personne n’aime lire un texte mal présenté. C’est pourquoi il est primordial de  bien savoir les rédiger  et les mettre en page. Voici nos conseils pour que votre  description soit bien mise en page  :

  • Rédigez des descriptions de plusieurs phrases. Une description plus détaillée ou racontant une histoire obtiendra plus d’engagement.
  • Utilisez des emojis pour illustrer vos propos et faire passer plus d’émotions.
  • Aérez votre texte en allant à la ligne. Comme vu précédemment.
  • Définissez votre nuage de hashtags à la fin de votre description ou en premier commentaire.

Le fait de définir un feed esthétique, encouragera fortement votre audience à vous suivre. Ne le négligez donc pas.   • Avoir une structure définie à l’avance et auquel on se tient.
  • Jouer avec les couleurs (en alternance, dégradé, …)

Meta Says Access Is Restored After Facebook and Instagram Outage

Users reported widespread issues with the platforms from around 10 a.m. Eastern to about noon, according to Down Detector, a website that tracks user reports of internet disruptions.

Meta said it had resolved a technical issue with its platforms, including Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram, after what appeared to be an hourslong outage on Tuesday.

After user reports of an outage that lasted about two hours, Meta said it had fixed the issue that caused the sites to go down. “We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Andy Stone, a spokesman for Meta, wrote on X.

The issue appeared to be resolved for many users on Tuesday afternoon, but some still reported having trouble with the platforms.

Around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, more than 25,000 users in the United States reported that they were having issues with Facebook , according to Down Detector, a website that tracks user reports of telecommunication and internet disruptions, compared to a base line of 17 such reports on an average day. By around 10:20 a.m., that number was up to more than 538,000 reports of trouble with the website. Around 76 percent of the complaints were about logging in to the website; 17 percent of the problems reported were with the app and 8 percent with the website.

More than 91,000 people reported issues with Instagram around 10:30 a.m. and 62 percent of the problems reported had to do with the app, while 27 percent of reports were about the feed. More than 13,600 users reported issues with Facebook Messenger around that time, according to Down Detector and 61 percent of those users reported problems with logging in while 24 percent had issues with the app and 14 percent with sending messages.

Users also reported problems with Threads and WhatsApp , which are also owned by Meta.

The outages appeared to affect users globally, with problems reported in the United Kingdom , Germany, Argentina , Japan and elsewhere.

Meta hosts more than 3.98 billion users across its apps each month, the company reported last month.

Some users flocked to X to see if others were also experiencing trouble with those sites. One user told people not to panic if they were having trouble logging in. Many users wondered on X whether they had been hacked, and attempted to change their passwords several times to gain access to their accounts to no avail.

The outage comes ahead of a deadline on Wednesday for Meta and other tech giants, including Apple and Google, to comply with the Digital Markets Act, a new European Union law that aims to increase competition in the digital economy. The law requires the companies to overhaul how some of their products work so that smaller competitors can access their users.

Elon Musk, the billionaire who bought Twitter for $44 billion , appeared to welcome the users to his platform, posting on X a screen shot of Mr. Stone’s statement alongside an image of three penguins from the movie “Madagascar,” labeled with each of Meta’s brands. The penguins saluted another penguin labeled with the X brand.

“If you’re reading this post, it’s because our servers are working,” Mr. Musk wrote in another post .

Jack Gohlke’s March Madness heroics make him a verified Instagram star

Early NCAA Tournament standout Jack Gohlke is the first made man of March Madness 2024.

The Oakland University guard is enjoying a meteoric rise after an out-of-body experience to lead the No. 14 seed Golden Grizzlies over the No. 3 seed Kentucky in an opening night 80-76 stunner.

Gohlke had 32 points and drilled 10 threes in the effort, and following the big night, he was verified on Instagram almost immediately, going from around 500 followers to now over 17,000 followers on the social media app as of early Friday afternoon.

Gohlke, who is a redshirt senior at Oakland — which is located in Rochester, Minnesota and won the Horizon League Conference this season — is a transfer from Division II Hillsdale College in Minnesota, where he redshirted as a freshman in 2018-2019 and played from 2019-2023.

In 2021-22, Hillsdale reached the Division II Elite Eight for the first time ever. Gohlke was a first-team All-Conference selection in his senior campaign in 2022-23 averaging a team-best 14.2 points per game, along with 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest, while shooting 40 percent from three.

For Oakland this season, he is averaging 12.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and has shot 38 percent from three on 10 attempts per game.

Against Kentucky, Gohlke got hot from deep with largely difficult, off-balance shots from well beyond the perimeter, often guarded tightly by Kentucky defenders.

The win gives the Grizzlies their first NCAA Tournament victory since they defeated Alabama A&M in 2005, which was an opening round Play-In game.

The Grizzlies, who were a Division II program until 1999, are in the D1 Round of 32 for the first time ever.

The loss also gives Kentucky their second first-round loss in three tournaments.

Two seasons ago, they famously lost to Saint Peter’s — a No. 15 seed — in the opening round of the tournament.

Kentucky hasn’t been beyond Round 2 since the 2018-19 season.

The wait for Max ‘s European launch is nearly over.

The Warner Bros Discovery streaming service will launch in the Nordics, Iberia, and Central and Eastern Europe — where HBO Max is already available — on May 21, with launches in Poland, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium following closely after. Notably, Max will be the only platform to stream all live coverage of the Paris Olympic Games later this year. The service will also provide a bigger content offer than HBO Max, with the likes of Barbie, The Last of Us ,  The White Lotus , Euphoria , and True Detective: Night Country . 

A sports add-on will offer the likes of the tennis Grand Slams, the US Open and the Tour de France, with rights varying in different countries. Linear networks such as CNN International and WBD’s Polish channel TVN will be offered locally.

Announcing the roll out timings at the Series Mania festival in France today, JB Perrette , CEO and President of Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery said: “Max is the streaming home of Warner Bros. Discovery and builds on our long heritage in Europe, bringing together an incredible breadth and depth of culture-defining entertainment from our services and networks, all in one place. The unrivalled content we’ve got on Max from  House of the Dragon to the  Olympic Games Paris 2024  and beyond means whatever your mood or the occasion, Max has something great for everyone, every time.”

WBD International President Gerhard Zeiler and EMEA Head of Streaming Leah Hooper Rosa had first announced the plan to launch Max in Europe at Mipcom Cannes last year.

Looking further ahead, we understand WBD is planning to launch Max in the UK — something that has been widely expected since the international rollout was first announced.

The rights picture in the UK is complicated, with Sky the exclusive distributor of most HBO content through its lucrative licensing deal with WBD. That agreement ends in two years, but it is believed certain shows such as House of the Dragon are tied to Sky via ‘life of series’ agreements, meaning the platform will continue to show them regardless of a wider deal.

Last year, Sky CEO Dana Strong has said she was “optimistic” that the Comcast-owned company’s UK division can keep hold of HBO content when the deal comes up for renewal in 2026. It is likely the pair will look to form some type of agreement, with one source suggesting Max could be carried exclusively on the Sky pay-TV platform.

WBD was the first of the U.S. studios to post a full-year profit for its streaming segment, making $103M in 2023.
