అఘోరాగా విశ్వక్‌సేన్‌ నటించిన చిత్రం ‘గామి’. మరి ఈ పాత్రలో విశ్వక్‌ భయపెట్టాడో.. లేదో తెలుసుకుందాం.

ఈ మహా శివరాత్రికి బాక్సాఫీస్‌ బరిలో సందడంతా చిన్న బడ్జెట్‌ చిత్రాలదే. వాటిలో అందరి దృష్టి ఆకర్షిస్తున్న సినిమాల్లో ‘గామి’(Gaami) ఒకటి. విశ్వక్‌ సేన్‌ (vishwak sen) హీరోగా తొలి అడుగులు వేస్తున్న సమయంలో అంగీకరించిన చిత్రమిది. గత కొన్నేళ్లుగా చిత్రీకరణ దశలోనే ఉన్న ఈ సినిమా ఎట్టకేలకు తెరపైకి వచ్చింది. మరి ఈ ‘గామి’ కథేంటి? థియేటర్లో ప్రేక్షకులకు ఎలాంటి అనుభూతి అందించింది?

కథేంటంటే: శంకర్‌ (విశ్వక్‌ సేన్‌) ఓ అఘోరా. తనెవరు.. గతమేంటి.. ఎక్కడి నుంచి వచ్చాడు.. ఈ జ్ఞాపకాలేం అతడికి గుర్తుండవు. పైగా మానవ స్పర్శను తట్టుకోలేని ఓ అరుదైన వ్యాధితో బాధపడుతుంటాడు. దీంతో తోటి అఘోరాలంతా తనని శాపగ్రస్థుడుగా భావించి... ఆశ్రమం నుంచి వెలివేస్తారు. ఈ క్రమంలో తనని తాను తెలుసుకునేందుకు అన్వేషణ మొదలు పెడతాడు. తన సమస్యకు పరిష్కారం హిమాలయాల్లోని ద్రోణగిరి పర్వత శ్రేణుల్లో 36 ఏళ్లకు ఒకసారి వికసించే మాలిపత్రాల్లో ఉందని ఓ స్వామీజీ ద్వారా తెలుసుకుంటాడు. అక్కడికి చేరుకోవాలంటే.. ఎన్నో ప్రమాదాలను దాటుకుని వెళ్లాలి. వాటన్నింటినీ లెక్క చేయకుండా డాక్టర్‌ జాహ్నవి (చాందిని చౌదరి)తో కలిసి అక్కడికి బయలుదేరుతాడు శంకర్‌. ఆ తర్వాత ఏమైంది? మాలిపత్రాలు సాధించే క్రమంలో అతనికి ఎదురైన సవాళ్లేంటి? దేవదాసి దుర్గ (అభినయ) కూతురు ఉమ (హారిక), సీటీ333 (మహమ్మద్‌)ల జ్ఞాపకాలు.. అతడికి ఎందుకు వెంటాడుతుంటాయి? వాళ్లతో అతనికి ఉన్న సంబంధం ఏంటి? తదితర విషయాలను తెరపై చూసి తెలుసుకోవాలి (Gaami movie review).

ఎలా సాగిందంటే: ‘కొత్తదనం నిండిన కథలు చూడాలనుకునే ప్రేక్షకులకు ఈ సినిమా మంచి సంతృప్తినిస్తుంది’.. అని ఇటీవల ప్రచార కార్యక్రమాల్లో విశ్వక్‌ చెప్పిన మాటలివి. తెరపై సినిమా చూస్తున్నంత సేపు నిజంగా ప్రేక్షకులకు అదే అనుభూతి కలుగుతుంది. దర్శకుడు కథను ఆరంభించిన తీరు.. దాన్ని మూడు జీవిత కథలుగా సమాంతరంగా చూపిస్తూ ఆసక్తికరంగా ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లిన విధానం.. ఆఖర్లో వాటన్నింటినీ ఒకదానితో ఒకటి ముడిపెట్టిన పద్ధతి.. ఆశ్చర్యపరిచేలా చేస్తుంది. ముగింపు సన్నివేశాలను చూసినప్పుడు కచ్చితంగా ‘కేరాఫ్‌ కంచరపాలెం’ గుర్తుకు వస్తుంది.

శంకర్‌గా విశ్వక్‌ను పరిచయం చేస్తూ సినిమాను ఆరంభించిన తీరు ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంటుంది. తోటి అఘోరాలంతా తనపై దాడికి ప్రయత్నించడం.. ఈ క్రమంలో వచ్చే కుస్తీ పోటీ.. దాంట్లో తలపడే క్రమంలో మానవ స్పర్శ తగిలినప్పుడు తన శరీరంలో వచ్చే మార్పులు.. ఇవన్నీ శంకర్‌ గతంపై ఆసక్తి కలిగించేలా చేస్తాయి. ఆ వెంటనే దేవదాసి దుర్గ కథ తెరపైకి వస్తుంది. ఈ ఎపిసోడ్‌లో దేవదాసి వ్యవస్థను చూపించిన తీరు కూడా మెప్పిస్తుంది. దుర్గ కూతురు ఉమ కథే ఈ చిత్రానికి మూలం. వీళ్ల జీవితాల్లోని సంఘర్షణ కూడా ప్రేక్షకుల మదిని బలంగా తాకుతుంది. ఇక మనుషులపై జరిగే అక్రమ వైద్య ప్రయోగాల నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చే కథ కూడా ఉత్కంఠభరితంగానే ఉంటుంది. సీటీ 333పై జరిగే ప్రయోగాలు.. అతడిని బంధించి ఉంచిన ప్రపంచం.. అక్కడి నుంచి పారిపోవడానికి చేసే ప్రయత్నాలు థ్రిల్లింగ్‌గా ఉంటాయి. ద్రోణగిరి పర్వత శ్రేణులకు చేరుకునే క్రమంలో శంకర్‌ - జాహ్నవి చేసే సాహసోపేతమైన ప్రయాణం ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. విరామ సన్నివేశాలు ద్వితీయార్ధంపై అంచనాలు పెంచుతాయి. ఆ తర్వాత కథ పెద్దగా ముందుకు సాగనట్లు అనిపిస్తుంది. ఉమను బలవంతంగా దేవదాసిగా మార్చేందుకు ఊరి సర్పంచ్‌ వేసే ఎత్తుగడ.. ఈ క్రమంలో తప్పించుకునేందుకు ఆ పాప చేసే ప్రయత్నాలు బాగుంటాయి. ముఖ్యంగా క్లైమాక్స్‌లో వచ్చే సింహం సీక్వెన్స్‌ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే:  అఘోరా పాత్రలో విశ్వక్‌ ఒదిగిపోయారు. భావోద్వేగ సన్నివేశాల్లో చక్కటి నటన కనబరిచారు. సీటీ333 పాత్రలో మహమ్మద్‌, ఉమ పాత్రలో హారిక నటన కూడా ప్రేక్షకుల్ని కట్టిపడేస్తుంది. జాహ్నవి పాత్ర కోసం చాందిని పడిన కష్టం తెరపై కనిపిస్తుంది. దేవదాసిగా దుర్గ పాత్రలో అభినయ నటన మనసుల్ని హత్తుకుంటుంది. దర్శకుడు ఈ కథను తీర్చిదిద్దిన తీరు.. తెరపైకి తీసుకొచ్చిన విధానం బాగుంది. అయితే.. కథలోని కొన్ని అంశాలు లాజిక్‌కు దూరంగా ఉంటాయి. మనుషులపై జరుగుతున్న అక్రమ వైద్య పరిశోధనల నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చే కొన్ని ఎపిసోడ్స్‌ ఏమాత్రం అర్థం కావు. విశ్వనాథ్‌ తన ఛాయాగ్రహణంతో సినిమాకు ప్రాణం పోశారు. నరేష్‌ కుమారన్‌ నేపథ్య సంగీతం ఈ చిత్రానికి మరో ఆకర్షణ. ‘‘శివమ్‌’’ పాటను చూపించిన తీరు బాగుంది. పరిమిత బడ్జెట్‌లోనే మంచి గ్రాఫిక్స్‌ వర్క్‌ను చూపించారు. నిర్మాణ విలువలు ఉన్నతంగా ఉన్నాయి.

కథ: విశ్వక్ (అజయ్ కతుర్వర్) చదువు పూర్తి చేసుకుని ఇంట్లోనే ఉంటాడు. తన తండ్రి మాత్రం 25 లక్షలు ఇచ్చి యుఎస్ వెళ్లమని చెప్తుంటాడు. కానీ హీరో మాత్రం ఇక్కడే ఉంటానని చెప్తుంటాడు. అమెరికా వెళ్లకుండా ఇండియాలోనే ఉండి.. తన ఐడియాలతో బిజినెస్ చేస్తానంటాడు. కానీ విశ్వక్ తండ్రి మాత్రం చుట్టూ ఉన్న వాళ్ల పిల్లలను చూసి తన కొడుకు కూడా ఫారెన్ వెళ్లాలనుకుంటాడు. అయితే ఎన్నారైల విషయంలో విశ్వక్ కఠిన నిర్ణయంతో ఉంటాడు. భారతదేశాన్ని వీడి పరాయి దేశం వెళ్తున్న వాళ్లను నిలదీస్తాడు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే అనేక సవాళ్లను ఎదుర్కొంటాడు.. ఇదే ప్రయాణంలో తనలాంటి భావాలే ఉన్న అమ్మాయితో ప్రేమలో పడతాడు.. ఆ తర్వాత తండ్రి ఇచ్చిన డబ్బుతో బిజినెస్ స్టార్ట్ చేస్తాడు. అంతా బాగానే ఉంది అనుకుంటాడు. కానీ బిజినెస్ బాగా లాస్ అవుతుంది.. ఆ తర్వాత ఏం జరిగింది అనేది అసలు కథ..

కథనం: ఎవరూ పట్టించుకోరు కానీ.. కొన్నిసార్లు కొత్త వాళ్లు చేసిన సినిమాల్లో మంచి కథలు వస్తుంటాయి. కాకపోతే సరైన పబ్లిసిటీ లేక అవి మరుగున పడుతుంటాయి. ఇప్పుడు విశ్వక్ అనే సినిమా విషయంలో కూడా ఇదే జరిగింది. ఈ సినిమాలో కూడా మంచి పాయింట్ తీసుకున్నాడు దర్శకుడు. కానీ దాన్ని తీసిన విధానం మాత్రం ఆకట్టుకోలేదు. కన్ఫ్యూజన్‌లో చెప్పాలనుకున్న కథను ముక్కలు ముక్కలు చేసాడు. అక్కడక్కడా సీన్స్ బాగా రాసుకున్నాడు కానీ ఓవరాల్‌గా చూసుకుంటే మాత్రం సినిమా ఫ్లో దెబ్బ తింటుంది. ఇండియాను వదిలేసి ఫారెన్ వెళ్లిపోతున్న ఎన్నారైలు అంతా మళ్లీ మన దేశానికి వస్తే అభివృద్ధి ఇక్కడే జరుగుతుంది కదా అని దర్శకుడు ఈ సినిమాతో చెప్పాలనుకున్నాడు. హీరో కారెక్టర్‌తో కూడా ఇదే చెప్పించాడు. తండ్రి పాతిక లక్షలు ఇచ్చి పోరా ఫారెన్ అంటే కూడా.. కాదు ఇక్కడే ఉంటానంటాడు. పైగా సొంత భావాలున్న కుర్రాడిగా హీరో పాత్ర ఉంటుంది. తండ్రి డబ్బులు తీసుకుని బిజినెస్ మొదలుపెట్టడం.. ఆ తర్వాత లాస్ కావడంతో సొంత కాళ్లపై నిలబడే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాడు.

ఈ నేపథ్యంలోనే తాను ఆనుకున్న కాన్సెప్ట్ ఇండియాలో ఎవరూ స్పాన్సర్ చేయడానికి ముందుకు రారు. అదే సమయంలో ఫారెన్ కంపెనీలు స్పాన్సర్ చేసినా ఒప్పుకోడు. ఈ సంఘర్షణలోనే కంపెనీ మూసే పరిస్థితికి చేరతాడు. ఆ తర్వాత మరోసారి కంపెనీ ఓపెన్ చేసినప్పటికీ సక్సెస్ కాడు. దీంతో ఇంట్లో గొడవలు జరుగుతాయి.. ప్రేమించిన అమ్మాయి దూరమవుతుంది. అయినా కూడా తన పంథా మార్చుకోడు హీరో. తన కొడుకును అమెరికా పంపించాలని హీరో తండ్రి తాపత్రయపడుతుంటే.. మరోవైపు ఓ రైతు తన కొడుకును తన లాగే రైతును చేయాలనుకునే సన్నివేశాలు కూడా చూపించాడు దర్శకుడు వేణు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే హీరో తన దారి మార్చుకోకుండా.. అమెరికా వెళ్లాలనుకున్న ఒకరిని కిడ్నాప్ చేస్తాడు.. అంతేకాదు ఇక్కడే ఉండి టాక్సులు కడుతున్న మరో వ్యక్తిని కూడా కిడ్నాప్ చేస్తాడు.. ఎన్నారైలకు సవాల్ విసురుతాడు.. ఆలోచనగా ఈ సినిమా కథ బాగుంది కానీ స్క్రీన్‌పై మాత్రం సరిగ్గా రాలేదు. పైగా స్టార్ వ్యాల్యూ లేకపోవడం విశ్వక్‌కు మేజర్ మైనస్. ఇదే సినిమా కాస్త పేరున్న హీరోలకు పడితే కచ్చితంగా మంచి సినిమా అయ్యుండేది.

Finally, will he achieve his goal? will youth stop thinking about going to America? what challenges Vishwak faced and how Vishwak changed a lot of youngsters’ lives is the rest of the story.

Movie Verdict

Vishwak movie addressed how youth struggling for their employment in India, how families putting pressure on their children’s to go to America and why some section of youth want to go to America, and why NRIs are not taking part in their own country development, these are the points nicely addressed in the film which helped out to the movie talk and finally the movie is worth watching and it is made for youth.

Gaami’s Plot

Vishwak Sen takes centre stage as Shankar, an Aghora grappling with a rare condition that isolates him from human touch. Desperate for a cure, he embarks on a quest for the mystical Maalipatra – a rare mushroom that blooms only once every 36 years atop the majestic Dronagiri mountain.

Along the way, destiny brings Shankar face-to-face with Jahnavi (played by Chandini Chowdary), a microbiologist driven by a similar mission. Their paths intertwine, leading them on a challenging journey through the awe-inspiring Himalayan landscape. The film seamlessly blends the rich cultural traditions of the south (represented by the Devadasi practice) with the rugged beauty of the north, showcasing lesser-known facets of Indian heritage.

Vishwak Sen’s Gaami is currently streaming on ZEE5. The survival drama captured audiences’ attention with its storytelling approach. ZEE5 has now organized a remarkable press interaction that has garnered praise for its innovative promotional strategy. The ZEE5 marketing team organized the first conference at Snow Kingdom India.

As Gaami was predominantly shot in the Himalayas amidst chilling temperatures, the organizers recreated the snowy mountainscape during the press meet, leaving attendees spellbound. Vishwak Sen and Gaami director Vidyadhar Kagita praised the inventive approach of the ZEE5 team. ZEE5 South Vice President Marketing Loyd Xavier stated that they have taken the creative initiative and credited the entire team for their effort.

Vishwak Sen said that he played the Aghora role, enduring the harsh Himalayan conditions for over two months without protective gear. He said many commented that Gaami would not be a hit as it lacked commercial elements but added that the film turned out to be the highest-grosser in his career. He said he felt that he should believe in such a story rather than come up with a flop film.

Vishwak Sen wondered why he didn’t get such a creative idea to promote Gaami before its theatrical release. Produced by Karthik Sabarish under the banner Karthik Kult Creations in association with V Celluloid, the film has Chandni Chowdhary, MG Abhinaya, Harika Pedada, and Mohammad Samad in crucial roles.
