Dhokha Round D Corner review: The film is enough to drive anyone around the bend
Dhokha round d corner review: the film wants you to ask some questions, but the one you end up asking is – why was this film made..
Dhokha Round D Corner cast: R Madhavan, Khushali Kumar, Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumar Dhokha Round D Corner director: Kookie Gulati Dhokha Round D Corner rating: Half star
A ‘Lashkar-trained’ terrorist hiding out in a Mumbai highrise finds himself in alarmingly close quarters with a woman who doesn’t seem to be all there. Is she really delusional, or is it an act? Is her husband as straight-forward as he appears to be? And what is the policeman on the job trying to hide?
The film wants you to ask these questions, as it goes about cutting back and forth from the flat from where the fugitive is making demands of money and a getaway vehicle, and the posse of cops down below, with a battery of TV reporters noisily standing by.
But within minutes of the opening, you are driven towards a completely different set of questions: why would a woman who suddenly sees a stranger with a gun show no signs of being scared? She sashays around, being flirty. Why is the terrorist so ready to fall for her? He makes puppy eyes back at her. What are those strange white pills hidden behind the toilet cistern she is on?
Who is that woman her husband is seen cosying with?
And finally, why has this film been made? Who has it been made for? It’s enough to drive anyone around the bend.

The senior selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, will convene in Ahmedabad to finalize India's T20 World Cup team. The selection of Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill will be a key focus, while KL Rahul may be left out. The team's requirement for a lower-order batting wicketkeeper adds uncertainty to Samson's spot. Tough decisions will be made to maintain squad balance.

Dhokha Round D Corner Review:
Link Copied

Dhokha Movie Review
Zaid Ahmed (Muzamil Ibrahim) is a dedicated Police officer in Mumbai known for his integrity. He was respected and looked upon high by his colleagues and community. He and his wife Sarah (Tulip Joshi) had idyllic life together and everything seemed and worked just perfect for the couple. Zaid was always under the impression that his relationship with his wife was crystal clear and believed that there was nothing unknown about each other. But one fateful day proved it all wrong.
A massive bomb blast in New Century Club, Mumbai that claimed a number of lives shattered not just his life but his belief too. His wife Sarahs body was also found among the dead. To add to his grief and pain, the police officer (Gulshan Grover) revealed that his wife had injuries that were typical to those of fundamental suicide bombers and that she was responsible for the catastrophic bombing. Zaid was torn between his past beautiful memories with his wife and this glaring truth about his wife. He was terrified to his soul because of this deadly betrayal.
What will it be like when you realize that the one whom you share your life with and claim to know very well has a secret identity?
Dhokha speaks for no religion. For, terrorism has its own religion. It criticizes terrorism and the people who spread terror in the name of religion. Dhokha hits you right and clearly convey as to how people get influenced and turn into jehadis.
Pooja Bhatt excels as a director. She has handled the issue with utmost maturity and precision. A lot of scenes are executed with confidence that they leave a strong impact on our minds. Like the one when Zaid watches the video where his wifes holds herself responsible for the blast. Screenplay and dialogue by Shagufta Rafique is first-rate and is influential. Cinematography is excellent.
Muzamil Ibrahim makes a great start. The debutant doesnt let you down a bit. He delivers a terrific performance and leaves you stunning. Tulip Joshi is equally competent and her performance is commendable. Her expressions are just right and very convincing. Ashutosh Rana is ominous; effective performance delivered. Aushima Sawhney lends a good supporting hand. Anupam Kher is outstanding and carries his role with ease and consistency. Gulshan Grovers performance is very good.
Overall, Dhokha is one of the finest and powerful product of the Bhatts stable. For entertainment seekers this would be a disappointment. But for those who like to have a taste of reality, this ones the right choice. Dont miss it.

The movie was well acted by all in it. But dealing with issue of terrorism arrising out of injustice and attaching it to Muslims only shows the hatred of anti-Muslim people and forces. They are teaching the world that they are good despite doing injustice and the affected people who retaliate are wrong in the strategy. Whereas the number of people who do such cowardly acts are not Muslims (even by names) but they are anti-Muslim fanatic forces (may they be jews, christians, hindus or atheists) and put the blame on Muslims and Islamic teachings seeing their own injustice. Thus they depict to the world that Muslims are mad people seeking heaven through such cowardly acts.
I just ask one question to the so called learned thinkers who is responsible for the suicide and time bombing in Pakistan for the last 5-6 years. Is here too Muslims were involved to kill Muslims or those forces under American umbrella who want to destablize Pakistan. Baghal mein churi moohn mein ram ram.
So please think over it. You cannot befool people by drawing one aspect of whole scenario and hide others for long. The truth always protrudes out. Islam is peaceful religion but also teaches to resist the tyrants and those who want to weaken Islam and end its propagation by all unfair means. It also teaches not to harm those who are not involved in opposing Islam.
I invite all that if you want to know reality and truth about Islam and its teachings, just go and get a valid authentic copy of the Holy Quran with translation and read it. Your mind will be clear of all doubts that have been created by anti-Islamic forces through propaganda and continuous falsehood/ lies. Be unbiased and impartial for the sake of yourself and all mankind. Love to all human kind.
Religions were made to show people light and give discipline in life. As different languages developed in different parts of the region, similarly different places had different saints and noble people.
All religions preach peacr, frin=endship and good health
The religion which means I Surrender to the will of God and which fasts for a month for betterment of mankind is one teaching love, friendship. ” Bhalaai kar, buraai se dar”.
So there is no question of who belonged to which religion. Some anti-national people make use of religious sentiments and mislead people.
Misled People do exactly as what is not told in the holy books. And this movie has put the point well. Religion is very sacred and personal attribute.
So, using it for developing hatred and violence is anti-religion. Whether Hindu, Muslims, Christains or any one who uses religious sentiments of people to gain their personal motives are sinners. They will burn in hell.
This movie is now one of my favorite movie?
This movie is an exaggeration of issues. Such type of incidents which are shown in the movie never happens to Muslims in India if it ever happened it would be a big Minority issue. The torture of innocents of minority type of incidents happens in Pakistan over Pakistani Hindus, Sikhs and Christians. Perhaps the director and script writer have forgot that a Muslim was the president of India, the chief of all the three armed forces..
The movie justifies terrorism that if a person is victimized then it is quite clear that he would follow the path of terror. If that is true then the kashmiri Pundits would have follow terrorism.
It is just another example of Bhatt & family’s Muslim affection (since mahesh bhatt’s mother was a Muslim). But if you have affection to a special community for that reason only you should not raise sensitive issues with this much of exaggeration.
I have heard many Muslims telling that Islam is a religion of peace but why the people hate muslims. My question is, is there any religion of hate in the world. A religion is respected and judged by the activities of its followers. Because in the world of rate race the people has no time to read what is written in other religions and whether the other religions are for hate or love. Many Muslims I have
it was great movie

Dhokha Review:
Dhokha review:
Dhokha Review In Hindi:

Dhokha: Round D Corner – Movie Review
Short of betrayal: High production quality, fine actors and crazy twists are brought down by flimsy characterisation and paper thin plot of Dhokha
Every film comes with its own fate. It was in Dhokha’s fate to release on country’s first-ever National Cinema Day – it met a full house, courtesy Rs 75 a ticket! With R. Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumar for cast and The Big Bull director Kookie Gulati at the helm, wasn’t a bad bet to pay an ode to cinema, or was it?
The story opens with Yathaarth Sinha (Madhavan) and Sanchi Sinha (the ravishing new entrant in the industry— Khushali Kumar bickering over divorce. As boss’s favourite, Yathaarth deals with pressures of the ad agency that he is part of, a major news flashes that a terrorist Gul Haq (Aparshakti Khurana) on a death row managed to flee police custody and landed in Sinha’s flat in a Mumbai high-rise.
In comes a cop Harishchandra Malik (Darshan Kumar) and Yathaarth dashes back to save his wife.
Meanwhile, the terrorist and the hostage housewife have cups of tea in the flat, while the cop along with the aggrieved husband are outside in the control room, as the thriller take one on a rollercoaster ride.
What works for the film is definitely the first half. A delusional wife or a cheating spouse, a hardcore terrorist or an innocent Kashmiri boy, the viewer is invested in the story. The production quality of film is rather stupendous, even rather ramshackle Mumbai looking truly like a shining mayanagri.
The second half continues the crazy treatment but by now the four lead actors have turned into these unhinged characters, who are losing their grip. Madhavan doesn’t even need dialogues to stand out, here too he wins his fans, as he gives his best to the character offered to him. Aparshakti, who is indeed an honest actor, gets a meaty role finally and his command of the Kashmiri diction is impressive. Being a cop has become Darshan Kumar’s second nature and he gives his best too.
But flimsy character-writing lets these three down. Khushali Kumar makes an impressive debut as a typical Bollywood heroine; she is sultry and sensuous. In the music department, Zooby Zooby is a catchy number but makes an appearance only as the credits roll. Kookie Gulati fares okay as a director but fails as a writer. If only, there was enough effort on the plot and characters, the film was right up there.

Dhokha movie review: R. Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumar and Khushalii Kumar bring drama to the table but not enough to hold your attention through it all.
It is a rather thrilling weekend at the cinemas this weekend. While R Balki is rolling out his psychological crime thriller Chup, Kookie Gulati (director of The Big Bull, Prince) is also trying his hand with the crime thriller genre via his new release Dhokha: Round D Corner. Starring R. Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumar, and Khushalii Kumar in the lead, the film revolves around a supposedly delusional woman taken hostage by a terrorist in her own home while her husband and a team of police officers help rescue her.
As the trailer has already revealed, Khushalii plays the role of the housewife Sanchi while Madhavan plays her husband Yathaarth. Wreaking havoc in their lives is terrorist Haq Gul, played by Aparshakti, while Darshan Kumar essays the role of Inspector Malik.
The film opens with Yathaarth and Sanchi appearing as the ideal love birds who eventually have gone sour. From romancing at every opportunity, the couple has now reached a point wherein Sanchi is demanding a divorce. Refusing to comply, Yathaarth brushes it off as one of her delusional episodes. However, he soon learns that his wife has been taken hostage and he rushes home in an attempt to save her.
On the other hand, Inspector Malik and Gul have a history too. Malik had caught him in an alleged bomb blast case and jailed him for months. When he was being taken from one jail to another, he allegedly escapes and takes Malik’s gun as well.

The first half feels like a game of two truths and a lie. Each character shares their side of the story. While Yathaarth claims that Sanchi is delusional, thinks she falsely suspects him of having an affair with her psychiatrist and accuses her of presenting a sensuous side to win over a situation, Sanchi accuses him of falsely declaring her mentally ill and having an extramarital affair.
Malik and Haq have their own version of the game going. Malik claims that Haq is a trained Kashmiri terrorist who is in the city to seek revenge for a death that took place years ago and planned the bomb blasts but Haq says he has no idea about it and is an innocent man.
While director Kookie Gulati is attempting to tangle you into their lies, he adds a layer of Lima syndrome to spice things up. This syndrome allows Sanchi to take control of the situation from time to time. To top it off, she uses her sensuality to ensure that Haq is under her spell.
The second half is spent in guessing who is telling the truth and if Sanchi is safely rescued from the hostage situation.
On paper, the film’s plot sounds interesting but the execution doesn’t do the concept complete justice. Gulati attempts to add drama to suspense and somewhere loses the balance of both. The first half takes time to establish but given the genre of the film, you’d expect it to keep you hooked from the moment go. But the uneven pace and imbalanced focus don’t let you get fully invested in the film.
The second half tries to redeem the film but to only a certain extent. The highlight of the movie is undoubtedly the climax. Gulati paid more attention to tying up the knots at the end that properly placing the threads that needs to be tied up. Even with this, a few loose ends do dangle in the end, causing a couple of plot holes. The script also needs some tightening.
On the acting front, Aparshakti is undoubtedly the star of the film. The actor impresses with his good Kashmiri dialect and presents almost all his acting cards throughout the movie — an unstable criminal, a weak lover, a man trying to pick between life and death, and eventually a heartbroken mentally ill man. It is truly his film.
Supporting him well is R Madhavan. It is always a treat to watch him play a role that involves limited romance and more pushing of boundaries. However, it was heartbreaking to see Darshan Kumar perform a weakly written character. Even in the situation, he tries to salvage what is in his hand but it isn’t enough.
As for Khushali Kumar, who is making her Bollywood debut with the film, it is sad to see that the film focused a lot more on her curves than her face. Given that the film revolved majorly around Sanchi, her character should have been portrayed in a better way. #JusticeforSanchi!
A special mention to the mockery made of the newsrooms that featured as a breather in the movie. Gulati appeared to be distracted from the suspense tale from time to time, thus adding scenes of how media houses are fighting for TRP ratings over the coverage. The film also featured a journalist inspired by some of the loudest anchors on television. It did lead to a few laughs but it mostly felt forced.
Final verdict: Dhokha offers an interesting plot line but the vision is unstable in many places. Would I watch the film? Well, it would be a boring Sunday watch when I have nothing else to watch.

Dhokha: Round D Corner movie review:
Suspense thriller movies always entice me. It only makes me wonder ‘what will happen next’; however, I didn’t feel the same while watching Dhokha. Everything seems to be an open book and hence, it gets easy to predict in the first half of the film itself.
Since the story is about a delusion wife who creates scenarios in her mind and considers them to be true despite the evidence. On the other hand, a husband is trying hard to treat his wife and take care of her. But it’s not necessary that what we see is true. There are multiple layers of truth and lies in the movie; however, it is shown in a sleazy way. And that’s when the story takes a serious hit.
The story didn’t convince me or I couldn’t even resonate with the characters and the setting. Everything seems hurriedly put together. The one thing that completely caught me off guard was the love story angle. It will make you say ‘Ye kya ho raha hai’ as it seems quite off and was absolutely not going with the plot of the film.
In these suspense thrillers, there’s always a strong motive behind the person doing the wrong things but I’m not sure if the motive behind the lead characters makes sense to me. It is quite bizarre to know the reason behind it.
A married couple leads a happy life who only had each other to fulfil each other. However, their marriage is all hunky dory and their life goes into turmoil when the wife accuses the husband of having an extramarital. A delusional housewife name Sanchi has a personality disorder and is taken hostage by a terrorist on the loose. A husband named Yathaarth is doing everything in his power to ensure that his wife is safe from the terrorist. But both have different stories to narrate but they have their own versions of reality. How do we know who’s telling the truth? Dhoka Round D corner is a tale of lies and harsh truths.
Star performance:
R Madhavan essays the role of Yathaarth Sinha who leads a happy life with his wife Sanchi in the city of Mumbai until he finds out that his wife has a delusional disorder. He does a fantastic job in his professional life but there’s more to him than it meets the eye. He has a layered character that only gets peeled off as the movie progresses. Maddy does a fab job as he plays his part with the utmost conviction. With intense gaze and vulnerability, Maddy is a par excellence actor.
Khushalii Kumar makes her Bollywood acting debut with Dhokha where she plays Yathaarth’s wife Sanchi Sinha. Yet another complex character with multiple layers that only gets complicated the more we see. Khushalii does a fair job for her debut film, nothing much to complain about here.
Aparshakti Khurrana plays the terrorist Haq Gul in the movie. I have always seen him playing a goofy or a comical character and I have loved him in those. This time, he tries his hand at something new and I was a little excited to see his character but sadly, it didn’t come out impressive. As he is shown as a Muslim person, his lingo is quite confusing, I was having difficulty understanding it. Talking about his performance, Aparshakti who has a lot of potential and capabilities was lacking in this character. Not sure if his character was poorly written or his performance.
Darshan Kumaar plays the role of an inspector who handles the crucial situation. Darshan does a commendable job with his strong presence. With an actor like R Madhavan standing next to him, Darshan stands his ground and shines in his part.
Direction/Screenplay:
Kookie Gulati, director of Dhokha, tries to showcase an intense suspense thriller but sadly, it didn’t seem hard-hitting. Yes, it is quite a riveting plot and would have surely grabbed my attention but it is the execution that took a serious hit. I couldn’t connect with the movie because if you’re showing a suspense thriller, there has to be some seriousness and that was lacking in this movie.
Conclusion:
Overall, Dhokha: Round D Corner could have been an interesting watch but lacks intensity. Despite a riveting plot and strong performances, R Madhavan, and Khushalii Kumar starrer offers a loose thriller drama. Even the strong performers couldn’t save the lacklustre film. A suspense thriller that gets predictable in each frame of the film. I’m going with 2.5 stars because of R Madhavan and the director for bringing out a gripping plot for the audience.

Dhokha Round D Corner movie review: R Madhavan & Khushalii Kumar starrer is a thrilling cinematic experience
R Madhavan, Khushalii Kumar and Aparshakti Khurana’s Dhokha Round D Corner keeps you at the edge of your seat with its solid twists and turns.
Language: Hindi Recently, we have seen Bollywood delivering great thrillers in the form of AndhaDhun , Jalsa , Dhamaka , Haseen Dillruba and many others. And director Kookie Gulati ’s Dhokha Round D Corner definitely matches the standards of the thrillers mentioned above.
Talking about the plot, Dhokha revolves around a married couple, Yatharta ( R Madhavan ) and Sanchi ( Khushalii Kumar ), as their lives get crumbled when terrorist Gul ( Aparshakti Khurana ) enters their apartment and takes Sanchi hostage to fulfil his demands. Inspector Malik ( Darshan Kumaar ) tries to resolve the situation and in all these intense phases, we see the perspectives of the characters getting unfold with their different versions of backstories and gear up to give us a thrilling and riveting cinematic experience.
Talking about the star performances, R Madhavan shows his acting mettle as Yatharta and makes an impact by handling his unconventional character with subtlety and maturity. Darshan Kumaar continues to impress with his talent as he perfectly portrays the role of a cop, who is helpless and frustrated with the situation but tries to keep himself calm and composed. After playing comical characters in Dangal , Stree , Pati Patni Aur Woh and others, Aparshakti Khurana rediscovers himself and shows his versatility by playing the character of terrorist Gul with aplomb. The actor should get extra brownie points for catching the Kashmiri dialect brilliantly. Coming to the debutant Khushalii Kumar, the gorgeous lady makes a confident debut and deserves all the appreciation and love for pulling off this complex character with the perfect blend of vulnerability and sensuousness.
Kudos to director Kookie Gulati for keeping the narrative water-tight and weaving a thrilling screenplay with Neeraj Singh, which is full of solid twists and turns. Dharmendra Sharma’s razor-sharp editing plays a pivotal role to make the story pacy and intriguing in the crisp duration of 1 hour and 51 minutes. Amar Mohile’s background score and Amit Roy’s camerawork raise the intensity and drama in the perfect proportion to this intriguing thriller. However, there are minor hiccups in the second half, which do affect the pacy narrative but they can be easily overlooked due to unexpected twists, which keep you at the edge of your seat.
Dhokha Round D Corner is sharp, edgy and definitely a treat for all thriller lovers.

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 review: A voyeurism-addled ride around a new future
Lsd 2 review: director dibakar banerjee’s chaotic triptych is a scathing critique of our insatiable appetite for peeping through the keyhole..
“Aapke best moments na hamesha off-cam hi hotey hain ,” an assistant director on a reality show (snarkily named Truth Ya Naach) tells the protagonist of LSD 2 ’s first short. It happens shortly after the said character, Noor (Paritosh Tiwari), who has been gaining eyeballs and votes mostly because of her status as a transwoman, has flung a glass of water at her mother amid a heated argument. The two go on to recreate it on the show’s Bigg Boss -like set, or, shall we say — recreate it on-cam?
(Also read: Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 box office collection day 1: Dibakar Banerjee film registers low opening, earns ₹ 15 lakh in India )
Hardly anybody else operating within mainstream Hindi cinema satirises the failings of the material world at any given point as sharply as Dibakar Banerjee. In LSD 2 , he returns to a scalding point that’s singularly his — sparing no moving part of the fiendish trinity that are reality TV, social media and alternate reality. This film doesn’t need the futuristic template that one commonly associates with more sophisticated (and hence distant) products, as far as subject matter and milieu go, like Black Mirror or Severance — only because everything it depicts is freely available in the present.
The three stories
This raucous follow-up to the breakout 2010 original is narrated through cams, mobile and PC screens, VR headsets and the looming arrival of AI. The unstinting ambition of the inhabitants of this world forms the life force of the three chain reactions, the three shorts that together make up LSD 2 . The reality TV show Noor is on, is entirely dependent on algorithms and harnessing every last dreg of screen voyeurism, for brand deals and sponsorships. Kullu, also a transwoman, navigates love and livelihood in addition to headlining her boyfriend’s small-time social media reality show. Game Paapi, a pimpled, hormonal 18-year-old gaming influencer given to cussing and bullying younger children at school, manifests a free fall into alternate reality.
A scary future seeping into the present
Banerjee has taken on quite a few subjects and blitzed them into a pungent-tasting smoothie that you cannot really put down. Working with Eeb Allay Ooo! (2019) writers Prateek Vats and Shubham, he launches a scathing attack on our insatiable appetite to peep through the keyhole. Bullying and cyberbullying, the farce of reality television, content creation and the churn that governs its steady evolution, the ominous arrival of the metaverse, the evolution of news channels that we’ve been all privy to, and, of course the vast gulf between the off-cam and on-cam world — LSD 2 does not spare a moment to throw shade at the cesspool of the screen.
What gives the film its serrated edge is that though the shocking material gets the ‘the future looks like this’ treatment in terms of its grim, sardonic tone and ubiquity of algorithms, deepfake and AI, all of which we still treat as concepts yet to arrive — the plot is bang in middle of our collective lived experience. Banerjee gives it all a dizzying whirl and by way of the act of having you watch this experience, snips the connection of subjectivity between the screen and its audience. The formal chaos and the self-reflexivity of the plot and its treatment might suggest it is more suited to the self-guided OTT experience, but perhaps that’s not the point of LSD 2 .

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 X (Twitter) Review: Dibakar Banerjee’s Latest Movie Gets Rave Reviews
By Devanshi Basu
Dibakar Banerjee’s highly-anticipated sequel, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (LSD 2), has hit the screens after a 14-year hiatus from its predecessor. Teaming up once again with producer Ekta Kapoor, the filmmaker brings up a bold exploration of love and sex against the backdrop of the internet age. Released in theaters on April 19, 2024, the movie has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
‘Satisfying and maddening’: Netizens on Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2
Much like its predecessor, the film showcases Banerjee’s signature unconventional storytelling. It blends three different storylines that delve deep into the intricacies of modern relationships against the backdrop of internet culture.
As early viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts, opinions on Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 were as diverse as the stories it portrays. While some lauded the film for its boldness and innovation, others found it lacking in storytelling.
One Twitter user eagerly expressed , “I can’t WAIT to share my LSD 2 review with y’all tomorrow. Wild film, equal parts satisfying and maddening. Dibakar Banerjee is undoubtedly one of the strongest filmmakers of our times.”
Another user’s tweet encapsulated the film’s essence, “SHOOK. I don’t remember the last time I liked all the segments of an anthology film. I was ready to be disappointed, but #LSD2 is a Funny, dark, and bizarre film. It can never make money in theatres even in next 20 years. It should be on OTT. But what a film!”
However, amidst the praise, there were voices of criticism. A user bluntly stated , “#LSD2 isn’t a film, it’s a joke. It’s so bad that no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to sit through the whole thing. #LoveSexAurDhokha2 miserably failed to deliver an engaging storyline, resulting in a disappointing viewing experience.”
Overall, LSD 2 has emerged as a one-of-a-kind movie. The film is currently playing in nearby theaters.
