The answer is very simple that they are everlasting in our memories. We become happy by remembering those moments and might remember those moments throughout our life.

What are Happy Moments?

Happiness and sadness are the two phases of life. Everyone in this world has to experience both phases in their life. Happiness is an emotion that makes us feel good and cherished. There are some moments in our life that provide us immense happiness. We wish that these moments would be long-lasting and never end. My Happiest Moment in Life

I find happiness in very small-small things of my life but these are some moments in my life that bring a smile to my face when I remember them. I can say that they are the happiest moments of my life. I will be telling you about one of the happiest moments of my life. I feel very nice to enumerate this moment of my life.

I was studying in class 10th at that time. It was announced in our school that there is a district-level competition of quiz and poster presentations. It will be involving several schools’ participation. The notices regarding the participation of students in the competition were distributed in every class. I was very excited to take part in the poster presentation. I enrolled my name for the competition.

  • Process of selection for the competition – The team that had to represent our school for different competitions was to be selected in the school itself. The first barrier was the selection in school. I was very happy when I got selected for the school team that had to represent our school in the district competition. The presentation has to be given in a group and therefore the final team had been finalized. There were four members in the team including me.
  • Pre-Preparation for the competition – Every team member presented their innovative ideas on the topic and lastly after summing up those ideas I prepared the poster. We had prepared three posters on the topic. We made a lot of effort to make our presentation the best one.
  • The day of the competition – finally the competition day arrived and we were a little nervous too. We have been taken to the destination of the competition by school bus. The teachers were also accompanying us. We performed our best and delivered the presentation beautifully. I was the group leader and therefore I was more nervous about the results. It was about the reputation of my school. Finally, the competition was over and the results of the competition were declared. It was started by announcing the third prize winner.

My heart started sinking down. Finally, I could not believe it when it was announced that our school has bagged the first prize. We were dancing with joy. I was very happy to make my school proud. Moreover, I was happy because the idea of the presentation was my own. The overwhelming joy of that moment cannot be expressed in words.

  • Award distribution event – The winning participants have been invited the next day with the whole family for prize distribution and dinner. This was more exciting for me. I went to the destined place and I along with my team was awarded by the District magistrate. It felt very nice to hear the name of my school at the first position. I handed over the trophy to my vice principal. My parents were very happy for me. We had dinner and enjoyed that evening beautifully with my family and group members. Later I and my team members were praised by the whole faculty of the school including the principal. This news and pictures of the winning teams were also published in the newspaper.

My father was very happy for me and therefore he promised a tour in summer vacations as a reward for winning. We had enjoyed that moment very beautifully. I feel very happy whenever I remember that moment in school.

Essays About Happiness: 5 Essay Examples and 6 Writing Prompts

Being happy and content is essential to living a successful life. If you are writing essays about happiness, start by reading our helpful guide.

Whenever we feel positive emotions rushing through our heads, chances are we are feeling happy. Happiness is what you feel when you enter the house, the smell of your favorite food being cooked or when you finally save up enough money to buy something you’ve wanted. It is an undeniably magical feeling.

Happiness can do wonders for your productivity and well-being; when you are happy, you are more energetic, optimistic, and motivated. So it is, without a doubt, important. However, do not become caught up in trying to be happy, as this may lead to worse problems. Instead, allow yourself to feel your emotions; be authentic, even if that means feeling a little more negative.

5 Top Essay Examples

1. causes of happiness by otis curtis, 2. how to be happy by tara parker-pope, 3. reflections on ‘happiness’ by shahzada sultan.

  • 4.  Happiness is Overrated by John Gorman

5. Toxic positivity by Suhani Mahajan

6 prompts for essays about happiness, 1. why is it important to be happy, 2. what is happiness to you, 3. the role of material things in happiness, 4. how does happiness make you more productive, 5. is true happiness achievable, 6. happiness vs. truth.

“If you don’t feel good about yourself you will have a similarly negative attitude towards others and education is one way of having good self-esteem, as it helps you to live life successfully and happily. Education is one way of getting that dream job and education is an essential cog in the wheel to living comfortably and happily. One English survey that included over 15,000 participants revealed that 81 percent of people who had achieved a good level of education had a high level of life satisfaction.”

Based on personal beliefs and research, Curtis’ essay describes different contributing causes to people’s happiness. These include a loving, stable family and good health. Interestingly, there is a positive correlation between education level and happiness, as Curtis cites statistics showing that education leads to high self-esteem, which can make you happier.

“Socratic questioning is the process of challenging and changing irrational thoughts. Studies show that this method can reduce depression symptoms. The goal is to get you from a negative mindset (“I’m a failure.”) to a more positive one (“I’ve had a lot of success in my career. This is just one setback that doesn’t reflect on me. I can learn from it and be better.”)”

Parker-Pope writes about the different factors of happiness and how to practice mindfulness and positivity in this guide. She gives tips such as doing breathing exercises, moving around more, and spending time in places and with people that make you happy. Most importantly, however, she reminds readers that negative thoughts should not be repressed. Instead, we should accept them but challenge that mindset.

“Happiness is our choice of not leaving our mind and soul at the mercy of the sways of excitement. Happiness cannot eliminate sorrow, suffering, pain or death from the scheme of things, but it can help keep fear, anxiety, sadness, hopelessness, pessimism and other fathers of unhappiness at bay.”

Sultan discusses what happiness means to her personally. It provides an escape from all the dreariness and lousy news of daily life, not eliminating negative thoughts but keeping them at a distance, even just for a moment. She writes that to be happy; we should not base our happiness on the outcomes of our actions. We cannot control the world around us, so we should not link our happiness to it. If something doesn’t go our way, that is just how the world works. It is useless to be sad over what we cannot control.

4.   Happiness is Overrated by John Gorman

“Our souls do float across the sea of life, taking on water as they go, sinking ever so slightly — perhaps even imperceptibly — into despair. But our souls are not the bucket. Happiness itself is. And it’s the bucket we use to pour water out our souls and keep us afloat. What we really need is peace. Peace patches the holes in our souls and stops the leaking. Once we have peace, we will no longer need to seek happiness.”

In his essay, Gorman reflects on how he stopped trying to chase happiness and instead focused on finding peace in life. He writes that we are often so desperate looking for happiness that our lives become complicated, chaotic, and even depressing at times. He wants readers to do what they are passionate about and be their authentic selves; that way, they will find true happiness. You might also be interested in these essays about courage .

“That’s the mindset most of us have. Half of toxic positivity is just the suppression of 200% acceptable feelings such as anger, fear, sadness, confusion, and more. Any combination of such feelings is deemed “negative.” Honestly, mix ‘em up and serve them to me in a cocktail, eh? (Fine, fine, a mocktail. I reserve my right to one of those little umbrellas though.)

But by closing ourselves off to anything but positivity, we’re experiencing the same effects as being emotionally numb. Why are we doing this to ourselves?”

Mahajan writes about the phenomenon known as “toxic positivity” in which everyone is expected to be happy with their lives. It trivializes people’s misfortunes and sufferings, telling them to be happy with what they have instead. Mahajan opposes this, believing that everyone’s feelings are valid. She writes that it’s okay to be sad or angry at times, and the stigma around “negative feelings” should be erased. When we force ourselves to be happy, we may feel emotionally numb or even sad, the exact opposite of being happy.

Essays About Happiness: Why is it important to be happy?

Many would say that happiness aids you in many aspects of your life. Based on personal experience and research, discuss the importance of being happy. Give a few benefits or advantages of happiness. These can include physical, mental, and psychological benefits, as well as anything else you can think of.

Happiness means different things to different people and may come from various sources. In your essay, you can also explain how you define happiness. Reflect on this feeling and write about what makes you happy and why. Explain in detail for a more convincing essay; be sure to describe what you are writing about well.

Essays About Happiness: The role of material things in happiness

Happiness has a myriad of causes, many of which are material. Research the extent to which material possessions can make one happy, and write your essay about whether or not material things can truly make us happy. Consider the question, “Can money buy happiness?” Evaluate the extent to which it can or cannot, depending on your stance.

Happiness has often been associated with a higher level of productivity. In your essay, look into the link between these two. In particular, discuss the mental and chemical effects of happiness. Since this topic is rooted in research and statistics, vet your sources carefully: only use the most credible sources for an accurate essay.

In their essays, many, including Gorman and Mahajan, seem to hold a more critical view of happiness. Our world is full of suffering and despair, so some ask: “Can we truly be happy on this earth?” Reflect on this question and make the argument for your position. Be sure to provide evidence from your own experiences and those of others.

In dystopian stories, authorities often restrict people’s knowledge to keep them happy. We are seeing this even today, with some governments withholding crucial information to keep the population satisfied or stable. Write about whether you believe what they are doing is defensible or not, and provide evidence to support your point.

The most memorable moments of my life.

Everyone’s life is full of memorable moments. Some moments are quite unforgettable. There have been many unforgettable moments in my life. I would like to mention one of them.

Humix

The most unforgettable moment in my life is when one day I was travelling from Jammu to Dehli by train. I was in the first class, so only a few passengers were there with me. At a specific station, all of them got off. I was now in the compartment absolutely alone.

After a moment, a clever lady walked into the compartment and sat next to me. She had an ingenious scheme to rob me. She told me she would report to the railway police that I had robbed her if I did not hand over all the money I had to her. I was totally and utterly perplexed when I heard this horrible voice. I made a plan to save myself from that lady’s wicked plan. Therefore, I pretended to be a deaf and a dumb fellow and asked her to write what she wanted to say on a piece of paper. She wrote her request happily on the piece of paper and handed it over to me. I changed my seat to pick up a piece of writing. The railway policeman came and asked what the matter was. As smart as she was, the women burst into admissions, so she said I had robbed her of a thousand rupees. He seemed to believe in her false story at first, but when I gave the piece of writing to the police, she turned pale. She was caught red-handed, so I saved myself from her evil scheme.

Extremely joyful and sorrowful events act as turning points in the life of a human being. There are events that one easily forgets about, yet there are those that one has to remember whatsoever. My high school graduation day is one of such moments that has remained engraved in my mind and stands out as the happiest moment in my life. I consider this my happiest day for several reasons. Life in high school had been a long and adventurous journey that has exposed me to different challenging, as well as inspiring moments and environments. Although I was aware that I would never meet some of my friends and schoolmates, I remained happy and overwhelmed with joy on this day. It marked the very last day of several years of being in high school. Before it finally came, I had dreamt and fantasized about for a long time. Notably, I had counted days that turned into months, years until this day finally came. The fascinating reality was undoubtedly the best experience of all that I ever had through time. Having been in high school for the past fourteen years, the experience had been indeed memorable. I recalled the exciting football matches, the choir competitions and speech tournaments that I would miss. I had a mixture of joy and sorrow that all amounted into the happiness of a great achievement. Some of my friends had turned into close associates. Brothers and sisters who helped me overcome difficulties of life. They were more than mere friends and classmates. I was getting to the reality that all these had been to prepare me for a future. All these were meant to make me the achiever I had become. A mature individual who is endowed with skills relevant in light of a better future life. Having exemplified the ability to overcome various challenges, it was certain that my fellow graduates and I were bound to succeed in the future. As Eleanor Roosevelt puts it, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” I was looking at the world from this point of view. Closing one chapter of wonderful experiences to give room to a new, fascinating chapter that held several unknown and untold stories. I knew I was prepared for it. I had dreams, and I was ready to go after my dreams. College, where I am right now was my first and immediate priority. Life has not been difficult in college as a result of my wonderful high school experience. As I stood in front of my graduation congregation to give my speech, joy flowed through me. I expressed gratitude to my parents for being the best parents I ever had. For helping me through high school, and for counseling me every time, I acted wrongly. I thanked my teachers. Severally, they had to play the role of my parents. Now they had become inseparable friends. They encouraged me to be ambitious and remain the diligent individual I had been. Then it was my classmates. This was to be followed by two parties; one in school and the other at home. The wonderful food, drinks and the bonding of all students, teachers and parents, was one of my lifetime. I was driven home in a decorated convoy to find a banquet organized in the house. After all the celebration and words of encouragement, I was happy for several facts. I learnt I was loved. I learnt I had a duty in life, and it was my responsibility to fulfill this responsibility. Undoubtedly, this was the happiest moment of my life.

Essay on Happiest Day of My Life in 500 Words

Below we have provided Happiest Day of My Life Essay in English, suitable for class 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

“ Happiness does not depend on what we have; it depends on how we feel towards what we have. We can be happy with little and miserable with much.” ~ William D. Hoard

Fighting with our friends is a now and then activity. But what is even more common? Having arguments with our parents. I am going to tell you about an episode that happened in my life when I was in the 10th standard. I used to go to my tuition classes from 5 pm to 7 pm every Monday to Friday. One evening, when I was walking down the stairs of the tuition centre, my friends and I decided to stop and eat ice cream. I knew my taste buds were about to be delighted!

After finishing my ice cream, I bid farewell to my friends, took an auto and reached home. I could see my mother standing at the gate and my father about to start the car. My mother’s eyes were watery. But I could sense that she breathed a sigh of relief the moment she saw me. As soon as I entered the drawing-room, my mother and my father walked in behind me. They were now looking at me angrily.

They started shouting at me. They asked me why I was late and why I hadn’t informed them. My parents said that they were extremely worried about me. My mother told me that she couldn’t stop thinking that something terrible had happened to me. My father reminded me that in a city like Delhi, where the crime rate is so high, I ought to be more careful and responsible. I felt irritated and agitated by their sudden outburst.

I still remember the exact words that I uttered out of my mouth, “When did eating an ice cream become such a big crime? Why do you have to overreact all the time? I wish I didn’t have parents; maybe then I would’ve been entitled to some freedom. It is impossible to live with you.” My parents turned silent, and I went stomping into my room.

The next day my father told us to get into the car, but he didn’t disclose where we were going. Everyone remained silent for the whole trip. In about 25 minutes, the car came to a halt in front of an orphanage. I did not know what my father had in mind. We all made our way into the orphanage, and my father told me to interact with the kids there.

All the kids at the orphanage were very welcoming and warm. None of them had any parents. A lot of them told me their stories. Reshma, a girl of 10, said to me that her mother died while giving birth to her and she never saw her dad. She was brought here when she was just a baby.

An orphanage is not the most amusing place. The rooms there were small and cramped. They did not have an air conditioner or even a cooler. None of them had been to a restaurant or an amusement park. They rarely got a cake or chocolates to eat. None of the toys that they had was in good condition. Sneha, another girl at the orphanage, told me that there were many nights when she felt lonely.

She told me, “Not one day has passed when I haven’t missed my parents. I would give anything in the world to be with them for just one day.” I realized that the things we take for granted, they dream of them. I walked out towards the main gate and saw my parents talking to the caretaker. I had never been happier to see them. That day I learnt the value of having parents, the importance of having a family.

I ran towards my mother, hugged her and burst into tears. That day was the best and indeed the happiest of my life. I realized that my parents would always be there for me. They would stand beside me through thick and thin. Having parents is not simply normal; it is a blessing which not everyone gets. I apologised to my parents for the previous night’s behaviour and thanked my father for teaching me this lesson.

My father told me something in my ear, and I quickly ran towards the car. I opened the trunk and retrieved a big box of chocolates and candies. My mother also came to help me with the other package which had crayons and colouring books in it. I distributed these things among the children at the orphanage with my own hands. I can’t possibly describe how happy and delighted they were.

Introduction to my most memorable moment.

Every person has a few moments in their life that stick with them forever. These are the times that bring a smile to our faces when we think back on them. For me, the most memorable moment was when I won the first prize in a school art competition.

The Day of the Competition

It was a sunny day, and the school hall was buzzing with excitement. Students from all grades had come together to show their artistic skills. I remember feeling a mix of nerves and excitement as I laid out my paints and brushes. My heart was beating fast, and my hands were a little shaky. I took a deep breath and started to paint, trying to put all my feelings and thoughts onto the paper.

The Challenge

The challenge was to create a painting that showed ‘Nature in its Full Glory.’ I had practiced for weeks, but now that the moment was here, it felt different. I had to choose the right colors, the right strokes, and bring my vision to life. I looked around at the other students, who were all focused on their work. It made me want to do my best.

Time Flies By

As I got more into the painting, I forgot about everything else. It was just me, my brushes, and the canvas. Before I knew it, the teachers were announcing that time was up. I stepped back and looked at my work. It was a scene of a sunrise over the mountains with birds flying in the sky. I was proud of it, but I didn’t know if it would be enough to win.

The Announcement

After what felt like forever, the judges came in with their decision. They called out the names for the third and second places. My heart sank a little with each name that wasn’t mine. And then, they called out the first place, and it was my name! I couldn’t believe it. I walked up to the stage, my legs feeling like jelly, to receive my prize. The applause from my friends and teachers filled the room. It was the best feeling ever.

The Impact on Me

Winning the competition didn’t just give me a trophy; it gave me confidence. I realized that if I worked hard and put my heart into something, I could achieve great things. It also made me love art even more. I knew that no matter what happened in life, I could always find joy in painting.

The memory of winning the art competition is something that will always be a part of me. It was a day when I overcame my fears, put my skills to the test, and came out victorious. Essay on Happiest Day in My Life – 300 Words

Such happiest days in one’s life are quite a few and rare. They come once in a blue moon. They do not visit us every day. If someday is `happiest’ for someone, it may be ‘saddest’ for somebody else. All days are not equal. Some may be quite cheerful. Others may be sorrowful. Life is visited by weals and woes by turn. If you are sad today, you may be pretty glad the next day. Someone wins a lottery on a particular day. That day becomes for him the happiest day of his life. One gets plucked in the examination; he calls this day as the most miserable. But in my life, the happiest day is 17th September. I was born on this day. It was on Saturday. People take pride in their birthdays. They attach special importance to such days when they saw the light of the day. So for me, my birthday is a significant day. Relatives and friends come to me. They share my happiness. They partake cake, sweets and dinner. Choicest dishes are prepared. The house is decorated, electric bulbs and tubes are lighted. Canopy is hung. Mats, carpets and rugs are spread out. The cake is ordered. It is brought and cut. All wish me a happy birthday. They cheer me, they sing songs, they dance. The whole atmosphere pervades with joy. I become the hero of the day. Eat and drink goes on long in the night. Gifts and presents are heaped on me. I feel excessively jubilant and gay. I celebrate this day with great pomp and show. I wait for this day for days together. Every year this date reminds me that I am older by one year. It is a day of reckoning (thinking) for me. I assess my success and failure. I take account of my failings. I resolve to be just and considerate. I vow to be sincere to my friends, relatives and my country. It is a day of great rejoicings and merry-makings for me and for my family. Every year this day is the happiest day of my life. My happiness is unbounded. It is limitless. It has its own charms and attractions. Hove this day very much; but sorry it comes once in a year.

Happiest day of my life essay- 450 words.

Happiest Day of My Life edumantra.net

There is hardly any living being who has never gone through ups and downs in his life. Life is full of incidents both good and bad. Some of them may be forgotten with the passage of time whereas others leave an everlasting imprint on the mind. One feels delighted when fortune favours one but one plunges into despair during misfortunes. A wise man is one who is neither overjoyed in prosperity nor takes adversity to heart. Last year, I passed the Senior School Certificate Examination. Though I had given it my best shot, I was not confident of scoring too well. Anything less than a first division would certainly throw a spanner in the path of my future career. The day before the result was expected, I spent a restless night. Early next morning, I along with a few friends hurried to school and went straight to the display board. Starting at eye level I went down the list, with my heartbeat going up as I reached the bottom. My name was not there. With a heavy heart, I ran my eyes up to the list. And there! I looked again. Yes, it was my name—second in the list. Not only had I secured the first division, but also stood second in my class. God fulfilled my desires. I felt grateful to Him. My friends also passed, securing good marks. In order to celebrate our success, we decided to go to a picnic. We reached Okhla, a lovely picnic resort, at 12 noon. The heavy rush of visitors could not deter our enthusiasm as we sought out a huge banyan tree on the banks of the canal. We spread out our mats and opened up the food hamper. The lively music and delicious food swept away all the tension of the past few days. The idyllic atmosphere was abruptly broken by some loud cries. The sound came from the canal side. I immediately rushed towards the canal and was shocked to see a boy drowning. He was crying for help. I jumped into the canal and swam towards the drowning boy. After a great struggle, I dragged him towards the bank. He was in a very bad state. When I observed him carefully, I was surprised to see that he was an old classmate of mine. He was given medical aid and after some time, he regained consciousness. I was delighted to see him recovering. My joy knew no bounds because I had saved the life of a boy, who happened to be my old classmate. It was a day of great joy and happiness. Not only did I secure the second position, but also did a brave and noble act by saving a boy from the jaws of death. This day would go down as one of the happiest days of my life.

long Essay On Happiest Moment In My Life

Everyone has those special memories in life that stand out and make them smile. From small moments of joy to the greatest accomplishments, we all have something that brings us happiness. In this article, I explore my own happiest moment in life and reflect on what made it so special. By sharing my story, I hope to inspire you to find your own most treasured memory and appreciate the magic of happy moments.

It was the happiest moment of my life when I received my college acceptance letter. It felt like all of my hard work had finally paid off and I was one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a doctor. That moment was made even happier by the fact that I was accepted into my first choice school, which meant that I would be able to stay close to home and continue playing for my high school’s lacrosse team. The happiest moment of my life was not only a product of my hard work and dedication, but also the love and support of my family and friends. My parents have always been my biggest support system and have helped me through every step of the college application process. From helping me stay organized to providing much-needed moral support, their unwavering belief in me has been instrumental in getting me to where I am today. My friends provided me with endless encouragement during this stressful time in my life, making sure that I had someone to talk to about all of the anxieties associated with applying for college.

Overall, the happiest moment in my life was a combination of years of hard work culminating in one defining moment. It was a moment that I will cherish forever as it showed me that when I put my mind to something, anything is possible.

Childhood memories of my happiest moment

I was 6 years old when it happened. It was a sunny day, and I remember running around in the backyard with my friends. We were laughing and playing games, and I felt so carefree and happy. Then, out of nowhere, a gust of wind came and blew my hat off. I chased after it, but it was caught by a tree. I climbed up to get it, and when I reached the top, I felt like I was on top of the world. That moment was one of pure happiness, and it’s something that I’ve never forgotten.

How I felt at the time

I was on top of the world. I had just won the state championship in track and I was feeling invincible. I thought to myself, “There’s nothing that can bring me down now.” I was so proud of myself and my accomplishments. I felt like I could do anything.

What I learned from that experience

In that moment, I learned that happiness doesn’t come from material things or from other people. Happiness comes from within. It comes from your own thoughts, your own perceptions, and your own actions.

I also learned that the happiest moments in life are often the simplest ones. It’s not about big events or grand gestures. It’s about the little things that make you smile, the things that make you feel alive.

So, what can you do to create more happiness in your life? Start by paying attention to your thoughts and your perceptions. Be mindful of the words you use to describe your life and your experiences. Choose to see the positive in every situation, even when it’s difficult. And take action towards your goals and dreams. When you do these things, you’ll start to experience more happiness in your life – guaranteed!

The impact this moment had on my life

This moment was very impactful for me because it was the first time I had ever felt truly happy. I had always been a pretty happy person, but this moment was different. It was like all of the sudden everything in my life made sense and I knew what I wanted to do with my life. This moment changed everything for me and set me on a new path that I am still on today.

The lessons it taught me about joy, contentment, and gratitude

It was the happiest moment of my life when I received my college degree. I had worked hard for four long years and it had finally paid off. The sense of accomplishment and joy I felt was indescribable. It was at that moment that I realized the importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them.

That experience taught me three very important lessons: the first is that joy comes from within; it is not dependent on external circumstances. Second, contentment is possible even when life isn’t perfect; we can find happiness in the simple things if we just take the time to appreciate them. And lastly, gratitude is one of the most important emotions we can feel; being thankful for what we have, no matter how small, can make a big difference in our overall attitude and outlook on life.

All in all, the happiest moment of my life was when I achieved my dream of graduating college with honors. It was a moment filled with joy and pride that I will cherish forever. Though it took hard work and dedication to get there, it has ultimately made me into who I am today: a confident individual striving for success and happiness in life. No matter what obstacles come our way, we should always remember this important lesson: no dream is impossible if you put your heart and soul into achieving it!

Memorable Day of My Life: 120 Words

Last month, our school arranged a trip to the Taj Mahal, Agra. The beauty of the Taj Mahal seemed to have no parallel.  It is made of white marble on the bank of the river Yamuna. The garden in front of it has tall cypress trees, colourful flowers, and rows of mountains. Many precious gems and stones are seen set on the tomb.

I found in the Taj Mahal the artistic and cultural heritage of India. Every stone of this building tells the story of the true love of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz. The white marble structure unrolled before me a new world of beauty. It is, indeed, matchless in beauty and grandeur. That’s why it is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. I was greatly charmed by its beauty. I felt breathless for a white. It was undoubtedly the most memorable day of my life.

The most memorable incident of my life is when I got an opportunity to exhibit my talent on stage in front of a huge audience. I always dreamt of becoming a singer. As a kid, I used my toothbrush as the mike and treated my dolls as my audience.

I was enrolled in a vocal training course in an eminent singer’s singing class and from there, based on my performance I was selected to display my skills at the Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Initially, I was a bit nervous, but got over it soon when I heard the tune. My performance was well received and the audience acclaimed me with their applauds and kept yelling “once more”. A moment which is sweet lasts long in our memory. I distinctly remember the day. My H. S. examination was over and I was having a relaxed time. One day, after spending the afternoon with my friends, I returned home.

My parents were waiting for me. Sister also came running. She was carrying a big envelope in her hand. They all seemed to be very excited and their faces bore reflections of animated joy. My sister shouted that there was a good news for me in the envelope and she would not tell unless she got a heavy bakshis.

After much cajoling, I could get the letter. Lo and behold! It was the admission letter from the I.I.T, Kharagpur. My joy then knew no bounds, I did quite well in the joint entrance examination. But to get selected finally in the highly competitive all-India test was something none could be sure of. In fact, I was a little tense to know the result.

Parents blessed me for my success. Neighbours also came. They all congratulated me again and again. I was lost in golden dreams. At last, I was going to join an institution of international fame! It was the happiest and most memorable day in my life because my future career got a definite direction that day. But that happy day taught me a lesson, too. I made up my mind to work hard in order to be successful in my career.

The Happiest Day Of My Life Essay In English [ 300 – 500 – 800 words]

When our kids start writing essays, they start with some basic ones. Like “What is your favorite destination to visit,” “ Your favourite hobby ,” “ Your favorite festival ,” and many others. But today, we are going to give some examples of writing an essay on the happiest day of my life.

Let’s see how it can be done.

Essay on the happiest day of my life (300 words).

How would you feel if you had planned a trip for 2 months and you could not go on the trip? You would feel bad right? I am feeling it right now. It was I who planned the trip and made the itinerary. Every time we planned this, it got canceled but not this time.

Essay on the happiest day of my life

The trip was happening after a long time. It was two years ago when the last trip happened. So we decided to make this trip happen. And it was actually happening this time until the date for my NET exam got disclosed. There was no point holding them back just for me, so I asked them to go for the trip and bring me something nice.

It was right in the middle of the trip, and there was no way I was going to miss the exam. So with a heavy heart, I bid them goodbye as they set out for the trip. While they were having fun on the beach, I was preparing for my exams.

They were putting up Instagram stories, and I was sitting in my room with my face buried in books. And then came the big day. The day of my exam and it went smoothly. After coming back from the examination, I was feeling very low as I was all alone, and they were having fun.

That is when the magic happened. I got the mail from the airline’s company that my ticket was confirmed for Bangkok, and it was just in two days. At first, I was confused then I got the call from my uncle. He arranged this trip for me and my cousins.

Well, I couldn’t be happier. A trip to Bangkok, and that to all expenses paid. Can you believe it? Even I couldn’t, but that has to be the happiest day of my life. And just to let you all know, I passed the test as well.

Essay on the happiest day of my life (500 words)

I was always told that everything had been planned for before our birth. We cannot cheat destiny. And by this time, I had started believing that nothing good was in store for me and my family. We have to go back a few years to get a clear picture.

Essay on the happiest day of my life (500 words)

It was the summer before our graduation. My twin brother and I went for a picnic with our family. It was a bright day, and suddenly while we were returning, it started raining. My father was driving the car, and it was raining so heavily that we couldn’t even see anything that was in front of us.

So, we decided to stop and wait until the rain stopped or at least reduced. But unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance, and a car came in front to save us; my father turned left, and somehow the car door opened, and my brother fell from the vehicle.

Though we immediately took him to the hospital, he had lost a lot of blood and was in terrible shape. They took him to the operation theatre, and we were hoping for good news, but we got the worst ever news possible; he had gone into a coma. It has been five years since then.

We celebrated his birthday with him in the hospital every year, visited him every day, and prayed for his recovery, but nothing worked. Nothing has been the same ever since. And last week, the doctors called us in and informed us that there had been no improvement in his condition for years and that it was we let go of him and got him off life support.

It broke my family even more than it was. I couldn’t even look at my father. He was punishing himself for this, and we couldn’t control him. But there was no other option left, and we put ourselves together for it and went to the hospital that morning.

When I was near his cabin, I heard a familiar voice I hadn’t heard in years. It was my brother’s. He was up. He came out of the coma that morning, and the doctors didn’t inform us so we could cherish the moment.

I couldn’t contain myself and hugged him right away. My father kneeled on the ground and started crying. And the happiness in my mother’s eyes cant be described in words. They kept him there for two more days, and then we took him home.

He was so happy to be home again but upset as well, as he had lost five years of his life. We had a party and celebrated all five of his birthdays again. My family was finally whole again. So if I am asked about the happiest day of my life , I don’t think I would take a split second to feel what it is. It would be the day I got back my brother.

Essay on The Happiest Day of my life (700 words)

It was a beautiful winter morning, the sun was shining, and there was a gentle breeze in the air. I woke up with a smile on my face, knowing that today was going to be a special day. I quickly got dressed and made my way to the annual literary festival that was being held in my city. As an avid reader and a fan of literature, I had been looking forward to this event for months. But little did I know that this would turn out to be the happiest day of my life.

As I entered the festival grounds, I was surrounded by the hustle and bustle of fellow book lovers. There were rows of book stalls, book readings, and panel discussions taking place. I could feel the energy and excitement in the air, and my heart was filled with joy. I quickly made my way to the main stage, where my favorite author, John Green, was scheduled to speak.

I had been a huge fan of John Green’s work since I first read his book “The Fault in Our Stars.” His writing had a profound impact on me, and I had been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to meet him in person. As I took my seat in the audience, I couldn’t believe that I was finally going to see him in real life.

John Green took the stage, and the entire audience erupted in cheers and applause. He started his talk by sharing his journey as a writer and the inspiration behind his books. He spoke about the power of storytelling and how it can shape our lives. I was hanging on to every word he said, and I could feel my admiration for him growing even more.

After his talk, there was a Q&A session, and I eagerly raised my hand to ask a question. To my surprise, John Green called on me, and I couldn’t believe my luck. I asked him about his writing process and how he deals with writer’s block. He answered my question with honesty and humor, and I could see the passion and dedication he had for his craft.

As the session came to an end, I couldn’t resist the urge to meet John Green in person. I quickly made my way to the author’s signing booth, where a long line of fans had already formed. I patiently waited for my turn, and as I got closer to the front, my excitement turned into nervousness. What would I say to him? Would I be able to articulate how much his writing meant to me?

Finally, it was my turn, and I approached John Green with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. He greeted me with a warm smile, and I couldn’t believe that I was standing in front of my favorite author. I quickly blurted out how much his books had impacted my life and how he was my favorite writer. To my surprise, he replied by saying that it meant a lot to him to hear that from a young reader like me. He then asked me about the genres I enjoyed reading and even recommended some books for me to check out.

As I walked away from the signing booth, I couldn’t stop smiling. Meeting John Green was everything I had hoped for and more. I felt like my love for literature had been validated, and I was filled with a sense of inspiration and motivation. My heart was overflowing with happiness, and I couldn’t wait to tell my family and friends about my encounter with John Green.

That day, I left the literary festival with a signed copy of my favorite book, an amazing experience, and a memory that would stay with me forever. Meeting John Green was not just a dream come true, but it was also a reminder of the power of literature to bring people together and shape our lives in ways we never thought possible. It was truly the happiest day of my life.

Essay on the happiest day of my life (800 words)

Who do you love the most? Your child? Your parents? Or your grandparents? Some would give a very diplomatic answer but not me. I am pretty clear about the fact that I have loved one person unconditionally throughout my whole, and that person is no other than my grandma.

I never knew love like this until I grew up. But by the time I understood that I had lost her. She suffered from a long illness, and in the end, she got paralyzed and was unable to speak. It was so painful to watch, I can’t even imagine the pain she felt inside.

Essay on the happiest day of my life (800 words)

She was such a beautiful human being. She taught me to be empathetic, kind, and helpful. She used to tell me stories about how she helped people in need and how that quality was diminishing day by day.

I love to bake, and it was that lady who taught me that. I have a lot of memories of baking cookies with her, and she scolded me for eating the dough. She taught me how to ride the cycle and helped me with homework. And also saved me from homework when my mother used to scold me.

She made me my favorite treats and used to sit by my side when I was sick. Whenever she heard anybody scolding me, she came to my rescue. But if I made any mistake, she used to tell me about that as well, but in a way that would make me realize that I did something bad, and I never used to do that again.

Well, there are no words to describe her love for me. It was hidden in those small gestures. A grandparent’s love can never be compared to anything else in this world. At least I can. If I start counting memories, then I will lose track of time and end up writing an essay for two thousand words.

The person who taught me the meaning of life , love, and everything in between left me in the prime of my life. A death that changed my life and my perspectives in many ways. I stopped doing a lot of things that I used to love and started doing a lot of things that meant a lot to her.

She was an animal lover, but I used to be so scared of all kinds of animals. She wanted to keep a dog in our house, but because of my fears, she never did. So after her death, I got a husky and a German Shepherd in our house. But I don’t bake anymore.

So after her death, I wanted to do something for her. Remembering her, the kindness in her heart, and her love for strangers, I wanted to build a home for old age people and orphans together. A place where they will get the company of one another.

People who are alone and don’t have anybody to take care of them would stay here, and children who are orphans and have nowhere else to be would stay here. The kids would get guidance and knowledge from the elderly people, and the elderly people would get the company of the small ones and get themselves occupied.

This would be a kind of community where people who have no one can be there for each other. I started working at the age of eighteen and started to save money for this wish to come true. I didn’t want my parents to help me out with this. And it began to feel real when I was twenty-four.

I started building it when I was twenty-four and finished it when I was twenty-six. The day I opened the home for those people was a very emotional day for me. Seeing those people all alone, with nobody to take care of them, made me very emotional. But I was glad they had me, and from now on, I would be there for them, to look after them, to take care of them.

Well, the day this actually happened would definitely have to be the happiest day of my life. Making my one dream come true and too for my grandmother was the ultimate happy moment for me. Now the home is ten years old, and there are many people here now. I started my family with five members, and now I have sixty-five members.

I have no words to express the happiness they can provide. Whenever I am low, those kids, those elderly people, and their unconditional love make my heart warm. They never let me feel alone. They remind me of the love I used to miss after her death. But now, i always feel her around. It’s like she helps me to take care of these people. From strangers to family, they made my life full.

Essay on the Happiest Day of My life: 800-900 words

The day was September 12th, 2019, and it was the happiest day of my life. It was a day filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories that I will cherish forever. As I reflect upon that day, I am overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude for the amazing people and experiences that made it so special.

The day started like any other, with the sun shining and birds chirping outside my window. But as I got out of bed and looked at the date on my phone, a wave of excitement washed over me. It was my 25th birthday, and I could feel that this was going to be a day to remember.

I started my day with a morning workout, something that always puts me in a good mood. As I was finishing up my run, my phone rang. It was my best friend, Sarah, calling to wish me a happy birthday. Sarah is like a sister to me, and we have been through thick and thin together. She told me that she had a surprise for me and that she would pick me up in an hour.

As I waited for Sarah to arrive, my mind raced with possibilities of what the surprise could be. Little did I know, it was going to be one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

When Sarah arrived, she blindfolded me and told me to trust her. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as we got into her car and drove for what felt like hours. Finally, she parked the car, and I could hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore. We had arrived at the beach!

Sarah took off my blindfold, and I was greeted with the most beautiful sight. The sun was starting to set, and the sky was painted with hues of pink, orange, and purple. A blanket was laid out on the sand, and a picnic basket filled with my favorite foods was waiting for us.

As we sat on the blanket and watched the sunset, Sarah shared stories about our adventures together and how grateful she was to have me in her life. We laughed, we cried, and we shared our dreams and aspirations for the future. It was a moment of pure bliss, being surrounded by nature and the person who knows me best.

Just as the sun was setting, Sarah handed me a gift. Inside was a scrapbook that she had been working on for months. It was filled with pictures and memories from our childhood, college years, and our recent travels. As I flipped through the pages, I was reminded of the countless moments of happiness, laughter, and love that we have shared together.

After the beach, Sarah and I went out for dinner at my favorite restaurant. As we ate, we talked about our future plans and how we would continue to support each other no matter what. After dinner, Sarah took me to a local theater where we watched a musical that I had been dying to see. The performance was breathtaking, and I could feel the music and dance moves lifting my spirits even higher.

But the surprises didn’t end there. When we got back to my apartment, I was greeted by a group of my closest friends, all dressed in party hats and holding balloons and a cake. They sang “Happy Birthday” to me, and we spent the rest of the night dancing, playing games, and reminiscing about old times.

As the clock struck midnight, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. I had never felt so loved and appreciated in my entire life. The day had been filled with surprises, love, and unforgettable moments that I will treasure forever.

Looking back, I realize that the happiest day of my life was not just about the experiences I had or the material gifts I received. It was about the people in my life who have loved and supported me unconditionally. It was about the memories we have created and the moments we have shared.

This day taught me that happiness is not a destination; it is a journey that we embark on with the people we love. It taught me to cherish every moment and to never take the people in my life for granted.

As I lay in bed that night, I couldn’t stop smiling. I knew that this day would be etched in my heart forever. It was a reminder that I am surrounded by incredible people who make my life worth living. And for that, I will always be grateful.

In conclusion, the happiest day of my life was not just about me, but it was about the love, laughter, and memories that were shared with the people who mean the most to me. It taught me to appreciate the little things, to cherish the moments, and to always be grateful for the people in my life. September 12th, 2019, will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will continue to strive for more days like that in the future.

I hope the above-given essays will give you a clear idea of how to write an essay on the happiest day of your life. Take note of these, write one on your own, and see how well you can write it.

Happiest Day of My Life Essays

The happiest day of my life was my 12th birthday. It was super awesome! Mom and Dad surprised me with a puppy, and I named him Buddy. He’s the coolest little furball ever. We played all day, and he even wore a tiny birthday hat. My friends came over, and we had a mega-fun party with lots of pizza, games, and laughter. I got cool presents too, like a skateboard and a video game I wanted.

Grandma made my favorite cake – chocolate with sprinkles. The best part was everyone singing “Happy Birthday” as I made a wish. I felt like the luckiest kid in the world. Buddy kept wagging his tail, and it was like he was celebrating with us. That day, I realized how much love and joy my family and friends bring to my life. It was the absolute best day ever!

Happiest Day of My Life Essay- 200 Words

The happiest day of my life happened when I won the school science fair. I was just a regular kid who liked mixing things up in the kitchen and asking a bunch of “why” questions. For the science fair, I made a volcano that erupted with baking soda and vinegar. It was messy but super cool.

When they announced that I won first place, I couldn’t believe it! My face turned as red as my volcano, and I felt like I had won a gold medal at the Olympics. My mom and dad were there, cheering so loud; it made me even happier. The principal gave me a shiny blue ribbon, and my friends high-fived me.

After the fair, my parents took me out for ice cream to celebrate. I felt like a mini-scientist champion. The best part was seeing my project displayed in the school hallway, and everyone walking by could see it. Even the big kids said it was awesome. That day made me feel proud of myself and showed me that you don’t have to be a grown-up to do something cool. Winning the science fair was like winning my little world championship of awesomeness!

Happiest Day of My Life Essay- 300 Words

The happiest day of my life was when my family and I went on a camping trip. We packed our bags with tents, sleeping bags, and all sorts of yummy snacks. The drive to the campsite was like a big adventure. I kept looking out the window, imagining all the fun we were going to have.

When we reached the campsite, I was amazed by the tall trees and the smell of nature all around. We set up our tent, and I felt like a camping expert helping with the stakes and ropes. As the sun set, we gathered around a cozy campfire, roasting marshmallows for s’mores. The crackling sound of the fire and the taste of the gooey marshmallows made me grin from ear to ear.

That night, we lay in our sleeping bags, staring at the stars. It was like a giant twinkling blanket above us. I saw a shooting star and made a wish. I wished we could stay in that moment forever. The next day was even better. We went on a hike and discovered a hidden waterfall. The water was so clear, and I felt like an explorer in the wilderness.

We cooked hot dogs on a portable grill, and it tasted like the best meal ever. In the evening, we played card games inside the tent, and I couldn’t stop laughing at my dad’s funny jokes. We told ghost stories that made us shiver and giggle at the same time.

As we packed up to leave, I felt a mix of happiness and a bit of sadness. The camping trip brought my family closer, and I realized how much fun we can have without TVs or phones. The memories of that trip are like treasures I keep in my heart, and whenever I’m feeling down, I remember the smell of the campfire and the joy of being surrounded by nature with the people I love. It was truly the happiest day of my life.

Happiest Day of My Life Essay- 400 Words

The happiest day of my life happened during a surprise family picnic. It was a regular Saturday, and I had no idea what was in store. My parents woke me up early, saying we were going on a little adventure. We hopped into the car, and as we drove, my curiosity grew.

We arrived at a beautiful park with green grass and colorful flowers. That’s when my parents told me it was a surprise picnic just for us. They had packed my favorite sandwiches, fruit, and even a chocolate cake. I couldn’t believe they had planned this just to spend time together.

We found a cozy spot under a big oak tree, and the picnic blanket quickly became our little kingdom. The sun was shining, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves above us. I felt like the luckiest kid alive.

We started with the sandwiches, and my mom added a special touch to each one, like heart-shaped cheese and funny faces drawn with ketchup. We laughed so much, and it felt like the worries of the world disappeared.

After the delicious meal, we played games like frisbee and catch. My dad brought a kite, and we took turns trying to make it dance in the sky. I had never flown a kite before, and it was amazing to see it soar higher and higher.

My mom had also brought a little portable speaker, and we played our favorite songs. We ended up having a mini dance party right there in the park. I didn’t care who was watching; it was just about having fun together.

As the day went on, we simply lounged on the blanket, sharing stories and jokes. The best part was when my parents told me about their childhood adventures. It felt like I was getting to know a whole new side of them.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky with shades of pink and orange, my mom brought out the chocolate cake. We sang a made-up “picnic song” instead of the usual birthday tune, and it was the sweetest moment.

Driving back home, I couldn’t stop smiling. It wasn’t about grand gestures or expensive gifts; it was about the simple joy of spending quality time with my family. That surprise picnic became the happiest day of my life, a day I’ll cherish forever. It taught me that sometimes, the most special moments come from the people you love and the simple pleasures life brings your way.

Happiest Day of My Life Essay- 500 Words

The happiest day of my life happened unexpectedly during a rainy afternoon. It wasn’t a special occasion, just a regular day that turned into something magical.

It all started when my parents surprised me with a visit to the local animal shelter. I had been dreaming of having a pet for as long as I could remember, and my parents thought it was time to make that dream come true. The idea of having a furry friend filled my heart with excitement.

As we entered the shelter, I was greeted by the sounds of barks and meows. The place was filled with animals of all shapes and sizes, each with its own story. The shelter worker, Ms. Johnson, guided us through the rows of kennels, introducing us to the different animals.

That’s when I saw him – a small, scruffy dog with big, soulful eyes. His tail wagged enthusiastically as if he knew I was the one. Ms. Johnson told us his name was Max, and he had been rescued from the streets. Max and I connected instantly, and I felt a bond that words couldn’t describe.

My parents, seeing the joy in my eyes, decided to adopt Max. The paperwork was done, and soon enough, Max was officially part of our family. I couldn’t believe it – I had my very own dog!

As we drove home, Max sat beside me in the back seat, his head out the window, and his ears flopping in the wind. I couldn’t stop smiling. When we got home, it started to rain, but instead of feeling gloomy, it added a touch of magic to the day.

Max and I played in the backyard, running around in the rain, and chasing each other. He would do this adorable thing where he’d try to catch raindrops with his tongue. We were soaked, muddy, and having the time of our lives.

Inside, my mom prepared hot chocolate to warm us up. We all cuddled on the couch, and Max nestled himself between us. It felt like he had always been a part of our family, bringing so much love and happiness.

That rainy day turned into a celebration of new beginnings. We dried Max off with towels, and he promptly fell asleep, curled up at the foot of my bed. I couldn’t believe how my ordinary day transformed into the happiest day of my life.

From that day forward, Max and I were inseparable. He became my playmate, my confidant, and my source of endless joy. Whether it was sunny or rainy, we created countless happy memories together – from long walks in the park to lazy afternoons on the couch.

Max taught me about unconditional love and the simple pleasures of life. That rainy day not only brought Max into my world but also filled my heart with happiness that I had never known before. It showed me that sometimes, the most unexpected moments can turn out to be the most extraordinary ones, shaping our lives in the most beautiful ways.

The rest of the day was a blur of celebrations. There were congratulatory messages, hugs, and laughter. The joy was infectious, spreading like wildfire amongst my loved ones. We celebrated late into the night, the happiness of the day spilling over into the cool evening.

Reflections

The happiest day of my life was not just about winning a competition. It was a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and belief in oneself. It was about overcoming self-doubt and fear, about pushing oneself beyond perceived limitations. But most importantly, it was about the joy of sharing a moment of triumph with those who matter the most.

In conclusion, happiness is subjective, varying from person to person. For some, it might be a grand achievement, for others, a simple moment of connection. For me, the happiest day of my life was a combination of personal achievement and shared joy. It was a day that taught me the true value of hard work, perseverance, and the power of belief. It was a day that I will cherish forever.

The Best Day of My Life Essay

The best day of my life is my 16th birthday. It is a day I will never forget in my life. I consider it till now my best birthday. All my relatives and friends were present at my birthday party. The best part of the party was my grandmother was present there. For the last time, she prepared all the food items I loved eating. It is even more special as it was the last day that I spent with her, after which she passed away. I spent the most time with her and she also enjoyed herself a lot with me for the last time in her life. This birthday is even more special as it was my last birthday with my grandmother.

The best day of my life was when I went on a school outing with my friends. We ate delicious food and enjoyed the day to the fullest.

I woke up at 6 am and got ready for school. My mother dropped me to school. From there we went to a science park by bus. During the entire journey we danced, sang, played games, and did many more fun activities. We ate snacks and played games with our teacher also. When we arrived we visited the science city and enjoyed every bit of it.

Besides the science park, it was a water park, so we quickly changed our clothes and jumped into the pool. We enjoyed ourselves in the pool, and we kept on playing for an hour. After that, we took a bath and changed clothes. We had rice and chicken for our lunch. We loved the food. After the food, we returned by bus. During the whole bus journey, we sang and danced.

This day is memorable as I could spend it with my friends. The day was a day to be remembered. We had so much fun together. Everything is worth remembering from the beginning to the end of the journey.

Life is full of events - both good and bad. Some things will be forgotten over time, and some will stay in your heart forever. Life is full of surprises and shocks, good and bad news, and unexpected turns. Fortune can benefit some people in life, and help them to reach the pinnacle of glory and happiness.

The Best Day of My Life

Recently I received the best gift from my dad. Since childhood, I always wanted a dog, and recently he had brought me one. I was studying in my room, dad entered my room with a labrador in his hands. I jumped from my bed with happiness. I also started crying as I could not believe my eyes. My mom and dad were always against having a dog. But he brought it, and made it the best day of my life.

Significance of My Best Day

I still remember myself bursting into tears and happiness at the same time. That night I held Bruno the whole time. The next moment I saw myself buying stuff for the dog. I bought food, clothes, toys, and many more things which would make him happy. That night I held him tight and slept beside him. I could not sleep the whole night due to the excitement.

I looked at him throughout the entire night with utmost happiness and surprise. That day was the best day of my life as I got my best friend. A best friend who would never leave me. A best friend who will always be there for me whenever I need him.A best friend who will make me the happiest. A friend who will love me to the fullest. That dog gave me the ultimate happiness and, this is how the day became the best day of my life. I named the dog Bruno.

I am always looking for him whenever I come back from school. He always jumps, licks me, and wags his tail after seeing me. My friends come along with me to play with him. Bruno also became their friend.

What I Love about My Dog

The thing that I love about Bruno the most is that he can gel well with people. My sister was not that comfortable with dogs. But Bruno made her fall in love with him. They are now the best of friends. He would jump in happiness whenever he saw him. She would also run toward him and would pick him up. She feeds him food and always brings toys and treats for him. She loves her to the fullest and, at the same time he loves her to the fullest. This is how Bruno became everyone's favourite.

Every person has some happy days and some bad days in their life. Both help people learn different things from these different experiences. But the happy days are worth remembering. They help you cheer on your days of sadness and bring back all the memories that are worth cherishing. The best day has a great impact on our life.

The Happiest Day Of My Life Essay

Essay on the happiest day of my life

It was the happiest day in my life when I could be of some service to humanity. I with my friends decided to bathe in a river near our town. At 11 a.m. we reached there and after some time we started bathing in the river.

We were bathing in the river in high spirits. There were hundreds of other people bathing. Suddenly we heard a loud shriek. A lady was crying, “Help-Help! my son is drowning. Save him!”

Many people rushed towards the drowning boy and I was one among those many. Being an expert swimmer, I was ahead of them all in reaching the boy. The boy was underwater being carried away by the swift current of the flowing water. Risking my life, I dived into the water. I was able to catch the boy by his hair. I drew him to my side and caught hold of him by the waist. He was unconscious.

There were tears of joy in the eyes of the crying mother. People rushed towards me to help me in carrying the boy out of the water. He was laid down on the sandy, shore where he lay senseless. A lot of water had gone into him. At the suggestion of an aged person, we tried our best to make him spill water. But this did not help him to bring him back to senses. We decided to take him to the doctor. A gentleman took us to a nearby doctor in his car. The doctor treated him and he opened his eyes. His mother and other people praised me. It was the happiest day of my life.

Blog about Lydia Davis’s short story “Happiest Moment”

happiest

I’m not sure exactly how many nested layers there are to Lydia Davis’s short story “Happiest Moment.” Sometimes I count as many as nine frames to the tale, sometimes only four or five. Sometimes the story seems its own discrete entity.  A matryoshka doll could look like one thing or lots of things, I guess, and this matryoskha doll points back at herself: When you open the final doll, the minutest level of narrative, you find that you’ve found the source of the story. The biggest doll is there nesting in the belly of the smallest doll.

But I’m getting ahead, maybe.  Break it down:

“Happiest Moment”

The title is the first frame, the big doll that declares:  This is a story .

The second-person pronoun here is general, sure, but also points directly at  you,  you reader  you . We have here another frame, one outside of the story (because you are the reader) but also bounded inside of it (as the character  you ).

ask her what is a favorite story she has written,

We’re not into the next frame yet, but we’ve got a new character, a  her —a story writer! Like Lydia Davis! The author of  this particular story !

she will hesitate for a long time

Still no new frame, but rather the space between layers, the hesitation, the drawing together of thought, judgment, analysis, reflection—Davis doesn’t make the reader feel  any  of that rhetorically, instead snappily snapping to the point of this whole deal.

and then say

Okay here’s the next frame. I’m not counting though.

it may be this story that she read in a book once:

Good lord, where to start here. Okay, so, we have another frame, but even more significantly, we have this verbal shift: Our  her , our  she , our  hero-author , who has been asked (hypothetically by interlocutor  you ) about a favorite story she’s  written avers that the favorite story she’s  written is a  story that she read in a book once .

(To save me the trouble of coming back later: Of course our hero-author is writing the story she read in a book once  now ; “Happiest Moment” is this performance, kinda, sorta, kindasorta).

an English language teacher in China

There’s a frame.

asked his Chinese student

Another frame (and a second  ask ).

to say what was the happiest moment in his life.

The student, like the hero-author-has to  say his answer (not  write  it).

The student hesitated for a long time.

(Like the hero-author—note the precise repetition of verbs in this tale).

At last he smiled with embarrassment

(God I love this guy).

and said that his wife had once gone to Beijing and eaten duck there,

(We’re getting to our climax folks).

and she often told him about it ,

Another frame, another telling.

and he would have to say

Our verb, our answer—

that the happiest moment of his life was her trip and the eating of the duck.

What a sweet, sweet ending.

The Chinese English language student’s wife’s enjoyment of duck in Beijing is his favorite memory, despite it not being a  memory  at all, but rather the story of a memory, not his own, but his beloved’s. He relays this memory of someone else’s to his English teacher and the memory somehow ends up in a book, which the hero-author of “Happiest Moment” somehow reads, and then attests to be the most favorite story she has written, despite the fact that she makes it clear that this is a story she  read and didn’t  write —although of course, she wrote it, because it is the story “Happiest Moment.”

this happiness reminds me of duck soup – not the duck soup of the marx brothers movie, but the proverbial “soup of the soup of the soup of the duck” –

>>A friend came to visit Nasrudin at home bringing a duck, and Nasrudin had it cooked to share with him. The next week someone called by, claiming to be the cousin of the man who had brought the duck. Nasrudin fed him. The week after that someone came claiming to be the friend of the cousin of the man who had brought the duck. Nasrudin fed him too. This continued, with the connection to the friend with the duck becoming more and more remote each time. Finally, when the next friend-of-cousin-of-friend-of-man-with-duck arrived, Nasrudin heated water up in a pot and then served it to the new guest.

“What’s this?” said the man, tasting the hot water.

“This,” said Nasrudin, “is the soup of the soup of the soup of the duck.”<<

Essay On Happiness – 10 Lines, Short And Long Essay For Children

Shraddha Mishra

Key Points To Remember When Writing An Essay On Happiness For Lower Primary Classes

10 lines on happiness for kids, paragraph on happiness for children, short essay on the importance of happiness for kids, long essay on happiness in english for children, what will your child learn from the essay on happiness.

The importance of happiness in life  cannot be negated by any means. It is a feeling we experience when we are full of joy. We feel happy and content when we accomplish something in life, get something new like a car, or house, a job, an admission, etc., visit a new place with loved ones, have quality family time, or get praise for our deeds. But, in the case of kids, they find happiness in trivial things, which for them, mean a lot. For instance, playing hide and seek, ludo with parents, visiting a park with grandparents, their favourite dish for dinner, an outing with family, bedtime story, a warm embrace, etc. Writing an  essay on happiness for classes 1, 2 and 3 kids  will allow them to explore their version of happiness and simultaneously learn the art of writing. This article comprises many such essays for your reference on the topic.

Writing an essay on happiness  for kids is tricky as they might not find the right expression to do it. Here are some key points for kids that they can use in writing an amazing essay on happiness.

  • Write an introduction explaining the concept of happiness.
  • Kids must write their definition of happiness and what makes them happy. They can recollect some old memories and write about them too.
  • The essay should be written in simple sentences.
  • The conclusion must summarise the topic well.

Not all words can catch the real essence of happiness, as the  importance of happiness  is beyond any expression. When kids write an  essay for classes 1 and 2  on this topic, they should explain their understanding of this emotion well. Writing in points is advisable for small kids at the learning stage of sentence construction. Given below are 10 lines on happiness for their reference:

  • Happiness comes with the feeling of inner joy and satisfaction.
  • Happiness spreads positivity and cheers all around.
  • One can not learn happiness; it is an emotion to experience.
  • To be happy, one need not be wealthy.
  • Happiness cannot be stored or measured but can be shared or spread.
  • Everyone has different things that make them joyous.
  • No one can steal happiness; it’s something that stays within.
  • Even a simple act of kindness or help can make an individual happy.
  • Virtues like sharing and giving can make one content and happy.
  • The UN declared 20th March the International Day of Happiness to strengthen the importance of happiness in life.

Happiness is a very common topic to be given to the kids in primary classes. Beyond complex statements, teachers expect them to write their understanding of happiness in simple sentences. Here is a paragraph that your kids can use as a reference.

Happiness is the most important thing in life. It is an emotion that can only be felt or lived. As human beings, we feel happy when we feel satisfied and content inside. I feel happiest when I play with friends in school and at home or go out with my parents on weekends. Family time makes me very happy. I feel happy when my mother hugs me before seeing me off to school. I feel happy when my father drops me at the bus stand before going to the office. I feel happy when we all sit together at the dinner table and share our day’s activities.

When students advance academically, they will be expected to write a short essay on the topic of happiness. Kids can refer to the template below to get some ideas and new points to mention.

Happiness is an emotion that an individual can only feel and showcase in actions. Many things make a person happy in their life. It can be a new home, new car, new dress, new toy, etc. But, in my case, I feel happy when I do good in my studies and my teachers, parents, and friends compliment me for the same. I want to achieve great success in my studies in my life and make my parents and teachers proud. My mother and father have many dreams regarding my future, and I would like to fulfil all of those and make them and myself happy. For me, the sense of achievement in life brings happiness and satisfaction. I feel happy when I learn new things in life and get motivated. I have understood that only you can make yourself happy, and I want to make myself happy with my hard work, passion, and achieving a sense of purpose in life.

An  essay for class 3 on happiness should be more detailed and have a clear perspective of the child’s experience. It can have many sub-heads for a better explanation of the topic. Given below is the template for their reference.

Life without happiness is dull and monotonous. Happiness is the key to everything, and it spreads positivity within us and to the people around us, and we cannot undermine its value. We should strive to achieve absolute happiness to lead a meaningful life.

Happiness And Its Benefits

Happiness is the reason to lead a fulfilling life. It is a state of mind that everyone should maintain and strive for. When we have a happy nature, we emit a positive vibe that attracts many optimistic people around us. Scientifically, a happy person leads a healthy life. Happiness keeps our heart health in check, our immune system stronger, and helps us fight negativity easily. Our doctor has asked my grandfather to laugh and stay happy to combat his health issues. He said you would not need these many medicines if you stay happy; you can get well naturally. As per him, a happy person can manage stress well and live a longer life. Happiness increases our motivation to do things better and take on new challenges head-on in life. Happiness is contagious; if we are happy, we can keep our loved ones happy too.

Discover The Inner Happiness

Happiness is the most basic thing that can be achieved with minimal effort. The key is discovering your inner satisfaction and joy, which can be done naturally. Finding what makes you happy is essential. It can be anything, studies, singing, dancing, etc. Drawing, giving food to the needy, and dancing makes me feel happy. My father has told me that if you feel happy doing something, you will excel. He said, when our minds and souls feel satisfied, the result of that action is always positive and worth mentioning.

Is Money The Key To Happiness?

Well, for some, it can be. But in real life, happiness is not subjected to having good money. Small things can make you happy. Delicious food, good friends, and relaxing family time can make anyone happy. I feel happy when my mum makes delicious pancakes on a rainy day, which don’t cost much. How you choose to see life decides your real happiness. Being happy is in your hands.

Ways To Keep Yourself Happy

  • Pursue your hobby:  Do whatever you like in your free time to boost your happiness. It can be painting, dancing, skating, swimming, or spending time with friends and family.
  • Count your blessings:  Be thankful and count your blessings in life. Remember what you have and not what you don’t.

1. Why Is It Important To Keep Yourself Happy?

Happiness leads to a fulfilling life and healthy. If we stay happy, we can keep everyone around us happy and cheerful.

2. How To Attract Happiness And Make It Last Longer?

Happiness is the most inexpensive virtue of life and can be explored in many ways. Our hobbies, likings and day-to-day activities can make us happy. Helping others and sharing can attract happiness in our life. We need to keep doing what is beneficial for our happiness and others around us to make it last longer.

Happiness can’t be bought but lived and felt. We all need to understand this to make our kids understand the same, and there is no better way than writing to make them learn.

The Case for Hope

Mr. Kristof is the author of a new memoir, “Chasing Hope: A Reporter’s Life,” from which this essay is adapted.

More than three-quarters of Americans say the United States is headed in the wrong direction. This year, for the first time, America dropped out of the top 20 happiest countries in the World Happiness Report. Some couples are choosing not to have children because of climate threats. And this despair permeates not just the United States, but much of the world.

This moment is particularly dispiriting because of the toxic mood. Debates about the horrifying toll of the war in Gaza have made the atmosphere even more poisonous, as the turmoil on college campuses underscores. We are a bitterly divided nation, quick to point fingers and denounce one another, and the recriminations feed the gloom. Instead of a City on a Hill, we feel like a nation in despair — maybe even a planet in despair.

Yet that’s not how I feel at all.

What I’ve learned from four decades of covering misery is hope — both the reasons for hope and the need for hope. I emerge from years on the front lines awed by material and moral progress, for we have the good fortune to be part of what is probably the greatest improvement in life expectancy, nutrition and health that has ever unfolded in one lifetime.

Many genuine threats remain. We could end up in a nuclear war with Russia or China; we might destroy our planet with carbon emissions; the gap between the wealthy and the poor has widened greatly in the United States in recent decades (although global inequality has diminished ); we may be sliding toward authoritarianism at home; and 1,000 other things could go wrong.

Yet whenever I hear that America has never been such a mess or so divided, I think not just of the Civil War but of my own childhood: the assassinations of the 1960s; the riots; the murders of civil rights workers; the curses directed at returning Vietnam veterans; the families torn apart at generational seams; the shooting of students at Kent State; the leftists in America and abroad who quoted Mao and turned to violence because they thought society could never evolve.

If we got through that, we can get through this.

My message of hope rubs some Americans the wrong way. They see war, can’t afford to buy a house, struggle to pay back student debt and what’s the point anyway, when we’re boiling the planet? Fair enough: My job is writing columns about all these worries.

Yet all this malaise is distorting our politics and our personal behaviors, adding to the tensions and divisions in society. Today’s distress can nurture cynicism rather than idealism, can be paralyzing, can shape politics by fostering a Trumpian nostalgia for some grand mythical time in the past.

The danger is that together all of us in society collectively reinforce a melancholy that leaves us worse off. Despair doesn’t solve problems; it creates them. It is numbing and counterproductive, making it more difficult to rouse ourselves to tackle the challenges around us.

The truth is that if you had to pick a time to be alive in the past few hundred thousand years of human history, it would probably be now.

When I step back, what I see over the arc of my career is a backdrop of progress in America and abroad that is rarely acknowledged — and that should give us perspective and inspire us to take on the many challenges that still confront us.

I think of a woman named Delfina, whom I interviewed in 2015 in a village in Angola. She had never seen a doctor or dentist and had lost 10 of her 15 children. Delfina had rotten teeth and lived in constant, excruciating dental pain. She had never heard of family planning, and there was no school in the area, so she and all the other villagers were illiterate.

A young journalist following in my footsteps today may never encounter a person like Delfina — and that’s because of the revolution in health care, education and well-being that we are in the middle of, yet often seem oblivious to.

short essay on happiest moment

I have implored President Biden to do more for the children and babies dying in Gaza. I’ve been unwavering about the need to support the people suffering bombardment in Ukraine . And I regularly report on the conflicts and humanitarian disasters in Sudan, Myanmar, Yemen and elsewhere that garner less attention.

Some people see my career covering massacres and oppression and assume that I must be dour and infused with misery, a journalistic Eeyore. Not so! Journalism is an act of hope. Why else would reporters rush toward gunfire, visit Covid wards or wade into riots to interview arsonists? We do all this because we believe that better outcomes are possible if we just get people to understand more clearly what’s going on. So let me try with you.

Just 100 years ago, doctors could do nothing when President Calvin Coolidge’s 16-year-old son developed a blister on a toe while playing tennis on the White House court. It became infected, and without antibiotics the boy was dead within a week. Today the most impoverished child in the United States on Medicaid has access to better health care than the president’s son did a century ago.

Consider that a 2016 poll found that more than 90 percent of Americans think that global poverty stayed the same or got worse over the previous 20 years. This is flat wrong: Arguably the most important trend in the world in our lifetime has been the enormous reduction in global poverty.

About one million fewer children will die this year than in 2016, and 2024 will probably set yet another record for the smallest share of children dying before the age of 5. When I was a child, a majority of adults were illiterate, and it had been that way forever; now we’re close to 90 percent adult literacy. Extreme poverty has plunged to just 8 percent of the world’s population.

Those are statistics, but much of my career has been spent documenting the revolution in human conditions they represent. In the 1990s I saw human traffickers openly sell young girls in Cambodia for their virginity; it felt like 19th-century slavery, except most of these girls were going to be dead of AIDS by their 20s. Trafficking remains a huge problem, but the progress is manifest. In Kolkata, India, where I’ve covered this issue for decades, one study found an 80 percent reduction in the number of children in brothels since 2016.

Two decades ago, AIDS was ravaging poor countries, and it wasn’t clear we would ever control it. Then America under President George W. Bush started a program, Pepfar , that allowed the world to turn the corner on AIDS globally, saving 25 million lives so far. One reason you don’t hear much about AIDS today is that it’s among the great successes in the history of health care.

It’s not just that the world has in our lifetimes seen the greatest improvement in human wellness that we know of since the birth of our species. Despite some setbacks for democracy — and real risks here in the United States — I’ve learned to doubt despotism in the long run.

One of my searing experiences as a young journalist was covering that terrible night in June 1989 when Chinese Army troops turned their automatic weapons on unarmed protesters in Tiananmen Square, including the crowd that I was in. You never forget seeing soldiers use weapons of war to massacre unarmed citizens; I still have my notebook from that night, stained with the sweat of fear.

“Maybe we’ll fail today,” my scribbles record, as I quoted an art student nearly incoherent with grief. “Maybe we’ll fail tomorrow. But someday we’ll succeed.”

Yet I also remember a day five weeks earlier in the democracy movement, April 27, 1989, when Beijing students prepared for a protest march from the university district to Tiananmen.

Students knew that if they marched, they were risking expulsion, imprisonment or worse. The evening before, some students spent the night writing their wills in case they were killed.

I drove out to the university district that morning and saw roads lined with tens of thousands of People’s Armed Police. I slipped onto the Beijing University campus by pretending to be a foreign student and watched as a frightened band of 100 students emerged from a dormitory, parading with pro-democracy banners. Gradually other students joined in, and perhaps 1,000 marched, clearly terrified, toward the gate. Rows of armed police blocked their way, but the students jostled and pushed and finally forced their way onto the road. To everyone’s surprise, the police didn’t club the students or shoot them that day. Once the vanguard broke through, thousands more students materialized to join the march.

Word spread rapidly. As the marchers passed other universities, tens of thousands more joined the protest march, and so did ordinary citizens. Old people shouted encouragement from balconies and shopkeepers rushed out to give drinks and snacks to protesters. The police tried many times to block the students, but each time huge throngs of young people forced their way through.

By the time they reached Tiananmen Square, the protesters numbered perhaps half a million. Then they marched triumphantly back to their universities, hailed by the people of Beijing screaming support. That evening at the gate of Beijing University, the students were met not by phalanxes of armed police but by white-haired professors waiting for them, crying happy tears, cheering for them.

“You are heroes,” one professor shouted. “You are sacrificing for all of us. You are braver than we are.”

It was a privilege to witness the heroism of that day. There is much to learn from the commitment to democracy shown that spring by Chinese students.

The exhilaration of that march to Tiananmen Square didn’t last. But in my reporting career, I’ve learned first to be careful of betting on democracy in the short run, and second, to never bet against it in the long run.

Some day, I hope to see the arrival of democracy in China, as well as in Russia, Venezuela and Egypt.

Commentators are always predicting the end of American primacy. First it was the book “Japan as No. 1” in 1979 by Ezra F. Vogel, then Patrick Buchanan’s 2002 right-wing “The Death of the West” and Naomi Wolf’s 2007 leftist “The End of America.” It seemed for a time that Europe might surpass us, while in the longer run China appeared poised to overtake America and become the world’s largest economy.

Yet the United States maintains its vitality. World Bank figures suggest that the United States has actually increased its share of global G.D.P., measured by official exchange rates, by a hair since 1995. Europe today is leaderless and has anemic growth. Japan, China and South Korea are losing population and lagging economically. “Uncle Sam is putting the rest of the world to shame,” The Economist noted recently.

China’s struggles today are particularly important, for it was China that was the foremost challenger to American pre-eminence. Many people around the world thought that China had a more vibrant political and economic model. Yet today China is struggling and even with its population advantage it is no longer clear that China’s economy will ever eclipse America’s. The United States is the undisputed titan in the world today.

As I see it, the possibility of a Donald Trump election hangs as a shadow over America. Yet even if Trump were elected, there is a dynamism and inner strength in America — in technology, culture, medicine, business, education — that I think can survive four years of national misrule, chaos and subversion of democracy. Indeed, Trump might wreck Europe and Asia — by abandoning NATO and Taiwan — even more than he would damage America, in a way that would perversely cement U.S. primacy.

Note that one of the dominant issues in this year’s general election will be immigration. That’s partly because of the determination of people around the world to come to America, just as my dad risked his life to escape Eastern Europe and make his way here in 1952. Desperate foreigners sometimes see our nation’s resilience more clearly than we do.

I have seen that faith in America in surprising places, even when I periodically slipped into Darfur to cover the genocide there in the 2000s. I couldn’t obtain a government pass to get through checkpoints, but I realized that U.N. workers were showing English-language credentials that the soldiers surely couldn’t read. So I put my United Airlines Mileage Plus card on a lanyard, drove up to a checkpoint and showed it — and the soldiers waved me through.

Recklessness caught up with me, and eventually I was stopped at a checkpoint and kept in a detention hut decorated with a grisly mural of a prisoner being impaled by a stake through the stomach. It was a frightening wait as the soldiers summoned their commander. He eventually arrived and ordered me released — and then one of my captors who previously had seemed ready to execute me sidled up.

“Hi,” he said. “Can you get me a visa to America?”

I share the view that a Trump election would pose immense damage to American political and legal systems. But in the scientific world we would continue to move forward with new vaccines for breast cancer, new drugs to combat obesity and new CRISPR gene-editing techniques to treat sickle cell and other diseases.

How can we weigh democratic decline against lives saved through medical progress? Of course we can’t. As my intellectual hero, Isaiah Berlin , might say, they are incommensurate yardsticks — but that does not mean that they are irrelevant to our well-being.

And no one can accuse me of ignoring the problems that beset us at home and abroad, for they have been my career. They’ve left me a bit too scarred to be a classic optimist. Hans Rosling, a Swedish development expert, used to say that he wasn’t an optimist but a possibilist. In other words, he saw better outcomes as possible if we worked to achieve them. That makes sense to me, and it means replacing despair with guarded hope.

This isn’t hope as a naïve faith that things will somehow end up OK. No, it is a somewhat battered hope that improvements are possible if we push hard enough.

In 2004 I introduced Times readers to the story of an illiterate woman named Mukhtar Mai, whom I met in the remote village of Meerwala in Pakistan. She had been gang-raped on order of a village council, as punishment for a supposed offense by her brother, and she was then expected to disappear in shame or kill herself. Instead, she prosecuted her attackers, sent them to prison and then used her compensation money to start a school in her village.

Instead of giving in to despair, Mukhtar nursed a hope that education would chip away at the misogyny and abuse of women that had victimized her and so many others. Then she enrolled the children of her rapists in her school.

Mukhtar taught me that we humans are endowed with strength — and hope — that, if we recognize it and flex it, can achieve the impossible.
