Am i allowed to share some files or images with my assigned writer?

Yes, and this will be a great help to the person working on your order. The more files you upload, the easier it will be for them to deliver a paper that meets your expectations. You can use the Files section in your profile to upload any additional materials. The system accepts all the major file types, but if you are having difficulties uploading your file, just contact our Customer Support Representatives and we will help with any sorts of issues. We normally ask our clients to upload any additional materials in either Word or PDF format.

Who will write my papers?

We employ all sorts of writers, and you can be sure that the author we assign to your order will do your assignment properly. All our writers are professionals whose work is monitored by our Quality Assurance Department. That is how you always get only the best. You may request your order to be written in British or American English while completing the order form. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that you will definitely get a writer from the requested country.

What does the price consist of?

The price you pay is for the body of the paper only. References and title page are done for free. Paper formatting according to your requested style (e.g. MLA or APA) is also free of charge.

I have an assignment that is due tomorrow. can you help?

Of course, write to us! The time we need to help you with assignment depends on the number of pages you need to be written.

If someone was to write my research paper, how will it be "mine" without getting in trouble for "plagiarism on turn it in?

Papers written by our authors are not only grammatically correct but also original and unique. We check all texts for plagiarism and send them to the clients only after proving uniqueness and originality. We also keep all the information about our clients confidential. No one will know about our help in writing your academic papers, except you and the writers. They can communicate with you, but they don't have access to your private information.

If someone was to write my research paper, how will it be "mine" without getting in trouble for "plagiarism?" the final paper has to be turned into turn-it-in.com so it could not be plagiarized what so ever.

Bristol writing center.

  • The Writing Center offers assistance in writing at all levels. Our tutors are trained to discuss your writing assignments with you and make suggestions on approaching a topic, organizing, developing a writing style, or correcting grammar and punctuation errors, as well as documentation and citation.
  • Tutors provide assistance but will not edit a manuscript or write text for you. Instead, their goal is to teach you to do these things for yourself, so you can become a better, more confident writer, developing your process for drafting and revising.
  • Located in Bristol Hall 115, in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE).

Online Writing Center (OWL)

  • The OWL allows you to upload a paper for feedback from a tutor
  • The OWL also provides virtual synchronous tutoring sessions to analyze your assignment, brainstorming, and organizing your piece of writing
  • The goal of OWL is to teach you to improve as a writer, to make you more sophisticated with the writing process, syntax, and documentation of sources
  • If you are a returning OWL client, tutors will not re-teach what you learned on a previous paper (e.g., grammar issues, punctuation, documentation, formatting). Tutoring will build from basic to more complex concepts.
  • To submit a paper, email it to  [email protected] . Be sure that the paper is a Word document.

Online Writing Center Guidelines

Please note these guidelines before you submit your paper:

  • There is a 48-72 hour turnaround time on receiving your paper back from the OWL.  Over the weekend and at busy times in the semester, we may need more time.  Submit your paper early in order to receive feedback in time to make any needed adjustments in your paper.
  • You must submit your paper as a MS Word document. We are not able to open and reply to other formats.
  • The OWL is closed during official school breaks and operates on limited hours during weekends. It may take a bit longer to receive a document back that you submit over a weekend.
  • We do not guarantee any particular grade on an assignment.  We will give you advice on improving your writing but are not responsible in any way for the grade that you receive.  That grade will be dependent on the changes that you make and how well you meet your professor’s expectations.
  • We will only comment on grammar issues in the first two pages of a submitted assignment.  Each error will be noted once and explained.  You will need to read your entire document to check for similar errors in the rest of the paper. We will not proofread or make any changes for you.
  • We will comment on issues such as format and genre, thesis statements, organization, paragraphing, and development.  These comments can be found either in the body of your paper or at the end of your document.
  • Please submit a rubric, or assignment sheet, or both along with your paper. Your review may be delayed if OWL does not receive these important supporting documents.
  • We typically only review each paper once. If you would like to re-submit a paper for further review, please include in your email specific questions about particular parts of the paper you would like us to address. We will not do a second review unless you follow this protocol.
  • To submit your paper, email it to  [email protected] .  Be sure that the paper is a Word document.
  • The document will be returned to you as an email attachment with comments to your King email.

How does it work?

  • Meet one-on-one with a tutor to discuss your assignment. For the most helpful review, please meet with a tutor at least 24 hours before the assignment is due.
  • Work with a tutor at any part of the writing process—brainstorming, outlining, creating a thesis statement, or revising an entire draft.
  • Bring assignment sheet, rubric, and a draft you have already started.
  • Drop in during our posted hours to meet with a tutor
  • In case tutors are busy, it’s best to make an appointment by emailing the center director, [email protected] .

Note: Students do not need to make an appointment for an online review. Submit your paper to [email protected] .

We were able to speak with a chat agent at papersowl.com and get that information for you. See below.

And How About the Writers? Where are They From?

king of essay papers owl

So the writers are not from the US or Canada, for sure or “Elle” would have said so. That would be a big selling point, but she just says they’re “from all over the world.” But can you pick your own writer? Can you at least speak to them beforehand to make sure you’re happy with the level of English they’re conveying? Look below to see…

king of essay papers owl

That sounds pretty good, right? The part that stopped us in our tracks, though, was when we went to place and order and saw that, on Papers Owl, not all writers are considered equal. You have to pay a premium to get decent writers. That seems really out of line.

king of essay papers owl

If a writing service asks you to pay a premium for certain types of writers, consider that to be outside of the “norm” in essay writing services. Most services quote you a price and there you go. To suggest that for a good quality paper you must pay a premium, that is nothing short of upselling. It’s the equivalent of asking if you want to supersize your meal. Shouldn’t all of the writers within the service be awesome? Qualified? Wonderful? We say yes!

Let’s Discuss Pricing:

king of essay papers owl

That is about average for a per-page rate with a 2+ day deadline. Let’s see if we get the same quote when we fill out the online form for ourselves.

king of essay papers owl

Those prices are quite a bit higher than $25 per page. We didn’t pick the top category of writers (Platinum) either. We picked the middle-of-the-road category and asked for a simple 2-page book report for high school.

Once I placed the order, the chat agent started to get a little pushy, too. That’s just something to add in for your knowledge. Once they see they’ve got a “live one,” they are really pushing for you to pay up. She was recommending various writers (all with unpronouncable names) and asking me to close the sale, more or less.

What Services Do They Offer?

They seem to offer the standard services like essay writing, research papers, thesis writing, editing, and so on.

Why Foreign Chat Agents & Writers are Problematic in the Grand Scheme of Things:

When you ask simple questions, they just can’t comprehend what you’re getting at. They are non-English speakers (at least as their first language) and ultimately they don’t understand the assignments. Look at this example of a simple question on one of the most assigned books in classrooms, “Pride and Prejudice.”

king of essay papers owl

Now if Elle hasn’t ever read the book, we can certainly forgive that. But she answered so quickly that her ignorance was like a bad advertisement for the company. Rather than be human for a moment and look up elephant themes in “Pride and Prejudice” (hint: there aren’t any), she just said “yes.” Like I said, anything to close the sale.

What Are People Saying in the Reviews?

Trustpilot had an alert we’ve never seen before. Check this out!

king of essay papers owl

Sitejabber shows suspicious reviews, too. Notice in the illustration below that the reviewer rates the service very highly, but complains about the grammar in her paper. Why the high rating, then?

king of essay papers owl

Papers Owl has reviews, to be certain. However, when a huge site like Trustpilot calls their ethics into question regarding reviews, it makes it really hard to trust them.

Pros & Cons:

~You get to pick your writer

~They offer most basic writing services

~You can talk to writers before you pay

~You have to pay a premium for “good” writers

~Foreign chat agents and writers

~Much, much higher prices than advertised

~Called out for deception on major review sites like Trustpilot and Sitejabber

Our Verdict:

It sounds like Paper Owls jumped on the essay writing service bandwagon to make a quick buck. The problem is, with foreign writers, sky-high prices, and premiums for writers with a Bachelor’s Degree, it’s not adding up to a successful business (as indicated by pushy chat agents desperate to close the deals).

There are better outfits out there. Trust us.

Advice for Writing Successful Application Essays

When you sit down to write your application essays, there is very little left that you can control. You should have already taken, or retaken, the SAT and ACT, your grades from your first three years of high school are set on your transcript, and your recommenders all have their impressions of you that are unlikely to change before the recommendation deadline. The only thing that left in your control is your writing for the application essay.

As with all things related to your college application, you will need to start drafting your application essay far ahead of the due date. In fact, you should move each school’s deadline up two weeks so that no unexpected events prevent you from completing and submitting your application. The reason that you need so much time to work on your essay is primarily because many schools will ask you to write about similar topics, but to do so in different ways. You will need enough time to draft essays that address each of these questions or prompts for each school to which you are applying.

Don't use boilerplate essays. That is, resist the urge to reuse the exact same essay for different schools if each of them is giving you a slightly different writing prompt. You can, of course, adapt the same essay for similar prompts. Many schools do allow you to use the Common Application essay for admission to several participating schools. For more information on the Common Application and to check which schools participate as members, click here .

Although using the Common Application does simplify the processes, make sure that you review each of the schools’ application requirements. as many of these same schools also request that you submit a second essay along with the Common Application essay. For instance, in addition to answering one of the standard Common Application questions, Amherst College asks that you write an additional essay responding to one of several quotations.

Before you can start writing your essay, you will need to begin by reading the prompts and questions carefully. Even the Common Application has six prompts that you can choose from. Don’t feel as though you must choose one immediately after reading them. You should ask yourself what sticks out the most for you after having read through them. Think about what is most salient for you.

Brainstorm by putting your thoughts on paper. You can free write (writing without stopping or censoring yourself), create word association maps (visually clustering concepts that you feel go together), or keep a journal over the course of several days so that you can collect your thoughts in one place. See the Purdue OWL's PowerPoint on “ Finding your Focus ” for more details on these strategies.

After you have generated several ideas, reflect on where you find the most intensity or excitement in what you were writing. If nothing jumps out at you, keep brainstorming or talk with others about some possible topics until something grabs you.

Once you know what want to write about, put a rough draft on paper. Don’t be afraid of stray thoughts if they lead you to something more interesting than you had set out to write. Just make sure that you eventually come to have a rough draft that is about one thing.

Look over your draft and check for the following.

  • Your writing should be personal. After reading your essay, does it seem like anyone could have written this? Make sure that your essay captures who you are.
  • You writing should show, not tell, through vivid language. Successful essays relate an experience or analyze a pattern from the writer’s life. It is not enough to make general claims about what impacted your decision to go to college, for instance; you must elaborate by including evidence that answers “how” and “why” when you make your claims.

It is important to note that admissions officers care as much about your structure, style, and insights as they do about your content. That is not meant to add an extra layer of anxiety to your writing process, but to highlight the fact that you don’t necessarily need to have something life-changing to write about in order to write a successful essay. As Dowhan, Dowhan and Kaufman note in Essays that Will Get You into College , “Personal does not have to mean heavy, emotional or even inspiring” (10). In fact, as the authors explain, students might over rely on the significant event that they write about to speak for itself and don’t “explain what it meant to them or give a solid example of how it changed them. In other words, they do not make it personal” (10).

Finally, your writing should be about a sustained topic. You must use vivid description with a purpose. What is it that you learned because of this experience? What message can you decipher from the series of events that you present? What led you to your conclusions?

Once you have completed your rough draft, put it away for a few days. Afterwards, read the question again and look through your essay. Ask yourself if the essay answers the prompt. Is it personal? Does it use vivid language? Is it focused on one topic? Rewrite whatever needs to be strengthened. This is a great time to have other people look through your draft and get their reaction. Make sure that you ask someone early, and that you trust this person’s judgment; they will be putting in a lot of time to help you, so don’t disregard anything that is inconvenient or that you don’t want to hear.

Again, giving yourself plenty of time to work on this essay is vital. You should have enough time to rewrite or restructure your essay based on the feedback that you have received. As you are drafting and revising, feel free to fix any mistakes that you catch in terms of spelling, grammar, and mechanics, but don’t spend too much time editing early on in the writing process. Working on lower-order concerns can give you the impression that the essay is ready to submit prematurely. Instead, use this time to strengthen the main points of your essay.

To supplement the advice offered on this page, you can find a handout on writing the admissions application essay here .
