At the class level, children who have difficulties whether it be in public speaking, stage fear, or lack of confidence to perform are encouraged to come forward by creating a comfortable environment so that they can win over their fears. Our methods of teaching are holistic and inclusive. This Annual festival is a perfect example of this, ensuring that every child participates and performs. 

It gives each student a chance to come forward and demonstrates what is good in academia and non-academic activities. We feel that without the outlet of their abilities, the entire teaching process is incomplete. We have therefore established this as a necessity on this Annual Day and have planned the Annual Day program in such a way that even talent such as art should be taken into account.

You'll see lots of pictures and posters if you look around. The names and classes of students who have drawn, sketched or painted these images are reported by each individual. Take some time to go through this precious art gallery, as identification is also needed. Who knows that it might be your child who had this talent, even if you didn't know it. Typically, on an Annual Day, there is a drama and dance, but this time we have added a new category, which is quite popular these days. They show them on every TV channel in the entertainment category - I'm talking about the stand-up comedy segment. Yes, we have some very talented kids here who are going to roll you with laughter barrels. So, brace for a nice Day. Our young children have organized a show that is a musical drama; mid-school people are busy practicing for dance-dramas, which our younger budding talented dance gurus have told me to choreograph. Let’s welcome them for success!

Now I fully understand why the friends we make at school are said to be nothing less than family. 

Special arrangements have been made to make this special day memorable. As we have our parents as well, it will be twice the fun with us on that particular day. For our parents and teachers, we have arranged various fun events, to make this day a memorable one for them as well. Some games are also planned where students can also participate. 

This is our way of saying thank you to our parents and teachers for always loving us and being there for us. We've added a brand new segment on this Annual Day. We also included a selection of games that are played as a team by children and parents. It is a guarantee that it will be a nice affair and we will all enjoy it; on the one hand, on the other hand, children and parents and teachers and school staff. Simple sports such as Tug of War, Three-Legged Race and Relay Race will be held in the school greens immediately after the conclusion of the show in the auditorium. It is a pleasure to welcome you all here today, for our Annual Day celebration, a day we all look forward to, every year. Today is the Day to celebrate our young creative and talented students. This year, our children have outshone and brought laurels to this institution, by demonstrating their skills in various competitions at the school as well as inter-school level. Our students have performed well not only in the various sports competitions, but have shown excellent results in the JSTSE, the Olympiad of all subjects, in essay writing competitions and many other academic competitions. Competitions are opportunities where students get a chance to showcase their many talents as well as their various academic and other co-curricular activities. We believe in providing opportunities of every possible kind so as to encourage each child to actively participate in the many activities. At the individual class level, those children who have difficulties, or those who lack the confidence in public speaking, stage fear,  or confidence to perform are encouraged to come forward and we try to create a comfortable environment to help them win over their fears.  

This Annual Day program is held to recognize each of our students for all that they have achieved and to encourage them to keep up with their good work. It gives each student a chance to come forward and demonstrate their specific skills and interests, whether in academics, sports or any other extracurricular activities. 

We believe that without this encouragement, the entire teaching process is incomplete. We have therefore planned the Annual Day program in such a way that every child who has shown excellence in any discipline should be recognized. We also believe that this could go a long way in motivating others too.

CELEBRATION WENT WRONG ON THE ANNUAL DAY AT RAHARA BHABANATH GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL

Rahara; July 12th, 2022: A disastrous incident has taken place during the annual day celebration of Rahara Bhabanath Girls’ High School. The annual day celebration was scheduled for July 12th, in the school auditorium like all other years. The program started around 10 in the morning, as per the schedule. Various kinds of programs were supposed to be taken place after the initial prize distribution ceremony. But during the initial ceremony, a massive fire broke out in the auditorium.

The installed water sprinklers didn’t start working automatically. But with the help of an emergency fire alarm system, the fire brigade was immediately informed and 3 engines of fire brigades came into immediate action. After 2-3 hours of continuous effort, the fire came under control. Fortunately, nobody was killed in this massive accident. Around 21 students along with teachers were injured.

They were admitted to the nearby district hospital. The local police station is investigating the matter very closely. From the primary investigation, a short circuit is suspected responsible for this accident. As per the management authority, for more than the last 25 years, the annual day has been organised in the same hall, and everything was properly checked before the program. They had no clue that such a devastating incident could occur. This incident will affect the overall reputation of the school, the teacher-in-charge said.

January 10th, 2022: Recently, on January 2nd, our Seth Jagatlal College celebrated its 150th foundation day. It was a massive ceremony organized on the college premises. All the students along with many notable alumni were invited to take part in the program. By Tamal BanerjeeKamarhati; August 15th, 2022: A beautiful initiative of social welfare was taken by the Adamas Collegiate School on their annual day. We decided to deviate this day to serve the needy and help the poor, the principal said to us. The day was full of different initiatives and that’s why several teams of students were created and assigned particular projects.

A group of students along with teachers were assigned the task to distribute clothes among the needy people from the nearby slum. Along with it, a literacy campaign was also launched to literate the street children. As per the team leader, this campaign will be continued throughout the month. After all this, the students came back to the school premises and attended an ethics class.

Around 11:30 am. after the class, all the students took part in a tree plantation program. As per the report, around 1000 trees were planted around the school area and each student had to take responsibility for looking after at least two trees. After the tree plantation program was over, the student cleaned the school premises under the banner of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The day ended with a beautiful prize distribution ceremony as per the achievements of students in various fields.

The students who are supposed to perform on stage and the winners of awards and prizes are usually the ones who are mostly excited.

Not only that, even the students who aren’t actively involved in the annual function directly are also happy. This is because it is a no-study day and the school is filled with fun, frolic, pomp and valor.

Preparing for the Annual Function day

The preparations for this annual function day begin way ahead of time as there are several acts that need to be perfectly rehearsed before the arrival of the actual day.

Thanks to this occasion, the school gets a total face-lift as the classrooms are cleaned, there are charts on the chart boards carefully made by the students. There are charts also displayed on the walls of the classroom that share moral messages to all.

The decorations are all done in order to impress the guests, parents and above all, the revered Chief Guest. The main venue of the annual school day function is decorated with balloons, nice write-ups, lights and banners.

The regular practice session of the different cultural programme is another vital feature of preparing for this day. Few of the classes on our daily routine are bunked in order to squeeze out time for rehearsal before the final programme is staged on the assigned day.

The students who particularly participate in drama, dance and other music programmes are usually asked to stay back for longer rehearsals.

The students who have come out first in academics and other inter-school or inter-class competitions are also asked to practice for the day. This is done beforehand so that they know how to conduct themselves on the actual day.

This is done through a mock-session of the step-by-step programmes of the actual day. The Head Boy of our school is also asked to write a speech, under the constant supervision of his teacher.

The arrival of the long-awaited day

When the final day for the Annual School Function finally arrives, everyone seems to be running around the school premises for their own reasons.

They actually go through a hectic schedule since they have the pressure of successfully conducting this entire programme so that the guests and parents are proud of the school.

Everyone, including the teachers, students and the principal seem to be highly excited as well as worried about this special day.

Those who happen to be a part of the on-stage programmes, are the ones who usually tremble with fear and excitement. The remaining students help in arranging the stage and they look forward to spending a fun day.

With the arrival of the Chief Guest, the school band starts playing. He is accompanied by a reception committee that include Managing Committee members. The teachers, principal and students are also a part of that committee.

The final speeches

To start off, the principal delivers a speech where he welcomes the Chief Guest and highlights the school’s performance in the board examinations. The Chief Guest along with the Principal presents the awards that the student won in different extra-curricular activities.

The Chief Guest delivers all sorts of speeches and his speech is followed by the speech of the Head Boy. He thanks the Chief Guest for accepting the invitation and for everything that he conferred to our school.

The function ends with the School anthem as well as the National Anthem. By the time it is late evening, our school campus stands illuminated and proud. We, the students, feel proud that we could complete the annual function successfully.

One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in any school is its annual day. The preparations for the annual day begin much ahead of the day itself. The school gets a complete face-lift with all the classrooms thoroughly cleaned and charts on all subjects, carefully made by the students and artistically displayed on the walls. This is done to impress the Chief Guest, other guests, and parents. The venue of the function is decorated with Writings, balloons, banners, and lights.

Another important feature of the preparation is the regular practice session of the cultural program to be staged on the appointed day. Students, participating in the dance, drama, and music programs, are called for long rehearsals. The Head Boy is made to write out his speech under the guidance of a teacher and he too is required to rehearse it. The long-awaited day, finally, arrives and everyone seems to be immensely busy and hectic, rushing here and there for one reason or the other. All, including the principal, the teachers, and the participants in the cultural programs seem greatly excited and worried. Those who are supposed to come to the stage tremble in excitement and fear. The rest of the students help to arrange the stage and look forward to a day of fun and frolic. As the Chief Guest arrives, the school band springs into tune. He is escorted by a reception committee, including the members of the Managing Committee, the principal, teachers, and students. To start with, the principal delivers a speech, in which he first welcomes the Chief Guest and then details the highlights of the school results in the Board’s Examinations and the awards that the students have won in various activities.

Then the Chief Guest is requested to deliver his 2ch. It is followed by a speech from the Head Boy, who thanks to the teachers for their affectionate guidance and teaching, provided by them. He also expresses gratitude to the Chief Guest for accepting their invitation and for all the compliments; he has conferred on the school. Finally, the Chief Guest is requested to give away the prizes to the students. The cultural program begins after the prizes have been awarded. Songs are sung by the students, the dance and drama items are presented and one sees the hard work, the students have put in during the rehearsals, reaching its culmination. The function ends with the manager of the school giving a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest and the parents for sparing their valuable time to be in the school. The last to come is the National Anthem, at the tune of which, all those who are present stand in attention. Then there is a controlled movement towards the exit. Parents wait outside for their children. Those who have won prizes and those who have performed on the stage are lovingly received by their parents. Finally, everybody goes home, bidding adieu to each other.

Essay Paragraph “Our School Annual Day” (483 Words)

Our School Annual Day: Every year, I wait for the day when the Principal announces the date of the annual day of the school. As soon as it was announced in the assembly, children walked to the classes with a lot of anxiety and excitement. It was a few weeks away, but we had already started discussing it.

The teacher came to the class and told us about the programmes that would be organized on an annual day. She asked students who wanted to participate in the programmes to give their names to the representatives.

Most of us decided to take part in the dance show. The planning for various programmes like drama, dance, chorus, etc., had started. We were all enthusiastic about the annual day.

I was thinking about it all day long in the school and even told my mother about it when I reached home. Next day, the song for the dance show was decided and practice for the same began soon. It was fun.

We were not concentrating much on studies. As the day was coming closer, the excitement was increasing too.

The costumes and props for the dance show were bought a few days before the annual day. They were beautiful. The invitation cards from the school were sent to the parents. The preparations were in full swing. Finally, it was the ‘Annual Day’.

That day, the school was decorated beautifully. All the participants were dressed up in their fancy costumes with makeup on. The other students volunteered to look after the arrangements.

I was waiting for my dance performance. When it was announced, we walked on to the stage and took our positions. The music was played and the performance began. It went off nicely. Everybody applauded our show.

After the show, I sat among the audience and watched the other programmes. Parents and children were clapping after every item. The whole function had a variety of programmes which was liked by everyone. It happened with great pomp and show. The play was interesting and the children acted very well.

In the cultural programme, there was a Rajasthani folk dance that was the most popular. Marathi Lavni, Gujarati Garba, Kathak, and Bharatnatyam were liked too. Children also showed their talents in vocal and instrumental music. The whole programme showed the culture and tradition of India.

The programme ended with the National Anthem. By this time, the children were tired. The next day was declared a holiday. With great enthusiasm, the programme ended and so was the fun. It was time to concentrate on studies and wait for the next annual day .

Annual Day Celebrations at School

On the 20th of January, our school celebrated its twenty-first Annual Day. The celebrations were held in the school auditorium and began at 3.30 pm. The auditorium was packed with guests which included local dignitaries and parents.

The principal welcomed the chief guest, and then read out the school report for the year, highlighting the achievements of the students and teachers. A variety entertainment programme had been arranged for the evening, in which students from Nursery to Class XII participated. There were folk dances, group songs, and an English and a Hindi play. Each item was of a very high standard, and the audience was really appreciative. After the programme, prizes were distributed. All those who had excelled in academics, sports and co-curricular activities were given certificates and medals by the Chief Guest. He then gave a speech praising the students and the teachers for the excellent show. He declared the next day as a holiday.

Tea and refreshments were then served to the guests. The teachers and senior students were introduced to the chief guest. He commended them on the good work they were doing.

By 6.30 pm the celebrations were over and the guests departed, leaving the teachers and students to congratulate each other.

The School auditorium had been prepared for the occasion. It was decorated with flowers of paper. It looked very beautiful. The chief guest arrived on time and look his seat. He was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers presented by two nursery children.

The cultural show began with a welcome song and a player song. The first item was presented by the nursery and K.G. students. They were dressed up as flowers and looked very lovely. They danced all around the stage without making a single mistake. Everyone clapped loudly. There was a short Odissi dance price by a very talented girl of our school. There were some solo and group songs and dances after that.

Two Hindi and English skits were played too. The Hindi play was a comedy, while the English one was Shakespeare’s ‘Taming of the Shrew’. Both were appreciated very much. We also had a miming act and magic show presented by two boys.

All the parents and other guests enjoyed the whole evening very much. It was a well organised show. We felt very happy when we heard the loud clapping. The Chief guest came up on the stage and gave away some prizes. He praised our school and its students very much.

Our school principal gave a short history of the school and read out the annual report. She also gave a volt of thanks to the chief guest and all the other guests. Finally, the National Anthem was sung and the school Annual Day came to an end. We enjoyed it very much.

School life: my result day.

Surely it is the most exciting day of the academic year, the day on which the heart beats fastest. Similarly these moments came into my life on March 29, 2010 when I lost my sleep, felt very afraid, yet excited — it was my annual result day of class eight.

While I was nervous because of my result, I was also nervous because of my skit which I was going to perform that day and I had written it myself, titled Emperor Akbar in the 21st Century. It was a comedy skit and I was playing the main role of King Akbar, and the special part of the skit was our dressing, which was not at all easy. All of the characters had to wear dresses that were embroidered and wear the necklaces and turbans.

The performance went well and our efforts were appreciated by all parents, teachers and the chief guest.

After this came the most exciting part of the programme — the announcement of the results and everyone was praying for good grades and positions. The result of Class Eight was to be announced in the end so we had to wait for a long time. At last the moment that we had impatiently waited for arrived.

I heard the name of my friend being called out as the third position holder. Then came the announcement for the second position and I was in a daze when my name was announced as the first position holder!

With shaky legs and amidst lots of applaud, I walked up the stage to receive my trophy and slash. As I turned to face the audience, I could not see clearly due to watery eyes as everyone present in the ceremony appreciated me. It was a great moment of pride for me and my parents.

I have to say that this would not have happened without the hard work, encouragements and prayers of my parents, but most of all, it is a bounty from the Almighty Allah for which I am very thankful.

Sports day consists of events which many schools stage in which students participate in sporting activities. They usually participate to win trophies or prizes. A lot of elementary schools hold sports day annually on their campus. Through the sports day essay, we will take a look at what all happens on this day.

Sports Day at My School

My school conducts sports day every year. It takes place in the month of November every year. Each year, all the classes present different acts to the audience. As per the class, the acts are chosen.

For instance, the junior classes perform simple acts like aerobics while the senior classes perform difficult acts like forming pyramids, long jump, and more. The sports day at my school takes place with full preparation.

The preparations begin two months earlier so that students can perfect their act. We get extra time to practice for the sports day. It also helps to cut down on some academic studying which everyone enjoys.

All of us practice in the sun and try to perfect our moves. On the final day, we all invite our parents to watch us perform our act. The parents come excitedly and watch and film their children perform harmoniously with the other students.

Moreover, there are also marathons and walkathons which are very interesting to watch. It happens on the basis of the division of houses. The most number of wins in my school have been procured by the blue house.

Thus, we all enjoy ourselves a lot on our sports day and perform for our parents and teachers. There is always a chief guest invited to our sports day that inaugurates and concludes the ceremony with their encouraging words.

My Favourite Day

Sports Day is my favourite day because it helps me demonstrate my talents. I am a very athletic person and enjoy playing sports. I can run marathons and go through the ring of fire with ease.

My friends are also very athletic so we wait for this day throughout the year. Moreover, on our sports day, we are allowed to bring snacks of all kinds. So, I share it with my friends and we have a gala time while waiting to perform.

On sports day, I always bring back home at least one trophy or medal. I have a great collection of certificates, awards and medals at home which signifies my wins on the sports day.

Sports day provides me with unforgettable memories every year. It gives me a chance to make even more and better memories with my friends. Thus, I enjoy this day a lot. When I pass out of my school, I will try to visit my school on sports day. It will be a sweet walk down memory lane and also a great chance to meet my teachers .

The English Day Celebrations

English Day English essay

The English day celebration of my school was held recently. It was organized by the English literary Association of the school. The chief guest was the zonal director of Education. The day is proceeding to commend at 12.00 p.m; with the lighting of the traditional oil lamps by the chief guest, principal, head prefect and one of the parents.

The welcome address was delivered by the secretary of the English Literary Association. Thereafter many interesting items were presented. The first item was a group song sung by the pupils of grade seven.

There were two plays.They were the bangle seller and snow princesses. They were presented by the pupils of grades nine and ten, respectively. Then there was an action song by the year six pupils. It was well-received by the audience. The chief guest stressed the importance of learning the English language in his speech. The prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners by the chief guest. I placed third in the oratory contest. The vote of thanks was processed by the principal. We will never forget this enjoyable day.
