16 Good songs for slideshows of memories

Good Songs For Slideshows Of Memories

What songs are meaningful to you? Are they the ones that cheer you up? Or inspire you to make a change, even a small one? Whatever the case, we can all agree that music has a way of making us reflect on different things about life. And if you’re looking for good songs for slideshows of memories (maybe for somebody’s birthday party or wedding anniversary) you’ll find there are plenty of tracks worth listening to.

In this article, we have handpicked 16 good songs for slideshows of memories. Surely, you can find a few from this list that you’ll want to reserve for any slideshow projects in the near or distant future.

1. “Best Day Of My Life” by American Authors

Here’s something upbeat and lively to start off our list! As the title suggests, it’s pretty much the national anthem for celebrating the most treasured days that one has gotten to live through. The song is all about living like you’re in a dream that you don’t want to wake up from. It’s very much akin to “seizing the day” as Robin Williams exclaimed in the film Dead Poets Society .

I howled at the moon with friends

And then the sun came crashing in

Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh

But all the possibilities

No limits just epiphanies

I'm never gonna look back

Woah, never gonna give it up

No, just don't wake me now

2. “Through The Rain” by Mariah Carey

While the message here is deeply tied to struggles, the song still makes a perfect candidate for that segment of a slideshow where one might’ve been going through not-so-great times. But the fact that those times are over — and don’t put a damper whatsoever on all the person has gotten to accomplish — means they indeed made it through the rain.

I can make it through the rain

I can stand up once again

On my own and I know

That I'm strong enough to mend

And every time I feel afraid

I hold tighter to my faith

And I live one more day

And I make it through the rain

3. “Little Wonders” by Rob Thomas

We tend to hype up the grandest of occasions, don’t we? Events where we’re in the spotlight, posing for professional photos and dressed like a VIP. But as Rob Thomas’s track for Meet The Robinsons suggests, the littlest moments spent with those who matter — moments without an agenda, where spontaneity can change the course of many things later on — are perhaps even more powerful. If you have captured those moments in pictures, use this song.

Our lives are made,

In these small hours

These little wonders

These twists and turns of fate

Time falls away

But these small hours

These small hours still remain

4. “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper

This one may not be a surprise on the list. But if you take a closer look at the lyrics of the first verse, you’ll find it really captures the essence of needing to hit the "pause" button sometimes. Why? So you don’t forget about all the good people surrounding you and the memories you continue creating alongside them. Life isn’t meant to be lived alone.

Suitcase of memories

Sometimes you picture me

I'm walking too far ahead

You're calling to me, I can't hear

What you've said

Then you say, "go slow"

And I fall behind

The second hand unwinds

5. “Make It Mine” by Jason Mraz

The beautiful thing about this song is that the singer talks pretty candidly in it, expressing how great it is to feel the energy of crowds he performs in front of during his tour. He intends to savor and make the most of those moments, as they are simply special. Shouldn’t we all follow suit and never take our best moments for granted?

I don't wanna break before

The tour is over

I'm gonna make it mine

Yes I, I'll own it

Yes I'll make it all mine

And timing's everything

And this time there's plenty

I am balancing

Careful and steady

And reveling in energy that everyone's emitting

6. “American Honey” by Lady Antebellum

This is one sweetly sentimental song about reminiscing over the good old days when life was simpler, back when you got to spend each summer freely. We can all relate.

Oh, I miss those days

As the years go by

Oh, nothin' sweeter than summertime

And American honey

7. “Our Lives” by The Calling

Alternative rock in the early 2000s was definitely of superb quality. And this song by The Calling has probably had its fair share of influence over people who are hesitant to embrace the lives they get to live (before the "You Only Live Once" meme came into the picture).

Cause these are the days worth living

These are the years we're given

And these are the moments

These are the times

Let's make the best out of our lives

8. “Everything Has Changed” by Taylor Swift featuring Ed Sheeran

A softer, easy-listening choice for your slideshow, this duet between two of the most popular songwriters these days would go nicely for a couple’s wedding anniversary. If it makes people cry, we’d call that a job well done.

'Cause all I know is we said, "Hello"

And your eyes look like comin' home

All I know is a simple name

Everything has changed

All I know is you held the door

And you'll be mine and I'll be yours

All I know since yesterday

Is everything has changed

9. “Fields of Gold” by Sting

There’s something about memories of the summers from way back then, isn’t there? Sting’s song really describes in detail the summer days that he remembers.

Many years have passed since those summer days

Among the fields of barley

See the children run as the sun goes down

Among the fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves

10. “In My Life” by The Beatles

Old is good, as they say. And this classic hit song by The Beatles is no exception. It’s composed in a low-key, restrained fashion and yet the lyrics are extremely moving. Not many songs out there have that nice combination.

There are places I remember

All my life though some have changed

Some forever not for better

Some have gone and some remain

All these places have their moments

With lovers and friends I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living

In my life I’ve loved them all

11. “Do You Remember” by Jay Sean

Now for another song that’s perfect for wedding anniversary slideshows. It’s energetic and catchy, but the message couldn’t be more relatable: relish the good memories you’ve made with the person you love, and keep making new ones.

I've been thinking about you

And how we used to be then

Back when we didn't have to live we could start again

There's nothing left to say

Don't waste another day

Just you and me tonight

Everything will be okay

If it's alright with you then it's alright with me

Baby let's take this time let's make new memories

12. “It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” by Boyz II Men

The song title is pretty much the main message of this song. And while we all have those moments in the past we wish we could relive, that’s not what we’re meant to do. So don’t cry because it’s over — celebrate the fact that it happened.

All I know is where we've been

And what we've been through.

If we get to see tomorrow

I hope it's worth all the wait

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

13. “Yesterday When I Was Young” by Dusty Springfield

The way many of us live our lives these days, it’s like we’re compelled to keep thinking “me, me, me” instead of seeing the bigger picture. What is life all about, really? Hopefully with a song like this, people viewing your slideshow can answer that for themselves.

I ran so fast that time and youth at last ran out,

I never stopped to think what life was all about

And every conversation I can now recall

concerned itself with me, and nothing else at all

14. “Simple Things” by Usher

Not only is this a great choice for R&B fans, the first line of the chorus couldn’t be more appropriate for a slideshow that takes people on a journey covering someone’s wonderful life. The simple things matter, and time that you choose not to spend on those simple things is time wasted.

It's the simple things in life we forget

You hear her talking, but don't hear what she said

Why do you make something so easy so complicated?

Searching for what's right in front of your face

15. “If We Hold On Together” by Diana Ross

The soundtrack to The Land Before Time , this song serves as a beautiful reminder about listening to your heart, recognizing your dreams, which deserve to be fulfilled, and truly living your life with a purpose.

Live believing

Dreams are for weaving

Wonders are waiting to start

Live your story

Faith, hope and glory

Hold to the truth in your heart

16. “Daydream” by Bobby Darin

Last on our list is another classic, feel-good piece. There are special things we experience that, right in the moment, seem typical and ordinary. But later on as we revisit them in slideshows, we realise how daydream-worthy they are. That makes this song a fantastic choice.

What a day for a daydream

What a day for a daydreamin' boy

And I'm lost in a daydream

Dreamin' 'bout my bundle of joy

And even if time ain't really on my side

It's one of those days for takin' a walk outside

Top 10 new slideshow songs:

"All I Need" — Foster

It’s not hard to see why All I Need is right at the top of our new songs list. The solo piano opening, ultra-romantic lyrics, and medium pace make it incredibly versatile as a wedding slideshow song.

"All In" — The Wildcards

Breathy lyrics, a slow build, and plenty of quiet moments give All In the perfect intimate energy to pair with images from a first-look, a golden hour shoot, or even an engagement session.

"A Good One" — Emorie

A Good One , with its acoustic guitar, folksy undertones, and reminiscent of a long, warm afternoon, it’s a song that gets into your soul and makes you want to sway in time to it. You can imagine it playing at the end of a long, happy day — the perfect slideshow song to pair with a big, laid-back, family-orientated wedding. The sort that runs late into the night because no one is quite ready for the magic to end.

"Always Mine" — Logan Pilcher

Another perfect wedding slideshow song. Always Mine feels optimistic, buoyant, and makes us hopeful for a future spent making beautiful memories with those we love the most.

"A Distant Shore" — Itay Kashti

This happy, upbeat slideshow song has an infectious beat that we can’t quite get out of our heads. A Distant Shore is also the most popular new track that doesn’t have vocals, so if you’re looking for a new vocal-free song to inspire your next slideshow, this could be the one.

"3 Water Springs" — Ian Post

If you’re a fan of whistling within a song, 3 Water Springs uses a cheerful whistle tune in place of lyrics — we think it makes the perfect slideshow song for a more unconventional wedding or outdoorsy engagement shoot.

"All We Said" — Elad Perez

All We Said is one of those instrumental tracks that delivers big on romance without having to utter a single romantic lyric. We love its heart and feeling, and we can’t wait to use this song for a wedding slideshow ourselves.

"A Good Mood" — Young Rich Pixies

A Good Mood does exactly what it says on the box. Building up your mood and lifting your spirits — it feels like it’s warming you up for a great evening ahead. It’s another of our popular lyric-free slideshow songs, and we can imagine this one pairing perfectly with post-ceremony celebration photos.

"1974" — Marie

1974 is all about that smooth baseline, string instruments, and gentle groove. The Marie track has 70's romance written all over it. It's a good slideshow song choice if you're looking for something lyric-free with a bit more of an old-school feel.

"Arrow Flies" — Paper Planes

Rounding out our top 10 is Arrow Flies . The soft male lyrics and gentle guitar melody give it a peaceful, content feeling that we adore. It’s also one of our shorter slideshow songs at under two minutes, allowing you to quickly create a romantic slideshow using only 22 images.

SmartSlides makes creating the perfect slideshow easy. You know the feeling when you're at a presentation, but you can't pay attention to what's being said because the music is so distracting? Choosing the right music is key to making a presentation better.

What is presentation music?

What music is good for presentation, powerpoint music, how to download music for powerpoint, how to add music to a powerpoint presentation, how to make playing music across slides in powerpoint, where can i download free presentation music, can i use copyrighted music in my presentation.

Making the right impression is a powerful marketing tool; presenters sometimes use music to connect with the audience immediately. Presentation music comes in many different genres, but any type will be more effective if it is related to the topic of the presentation.

The music you choose for your presentation can do many things for your audience - it can lighten the mood, drive excitement, or even set a pace. The key is to choose the appropriate music for your presentation and have it play at an acceptable volume.

  • Confidence: Fresh Startup , Calm Tech
  • Focusing: Successful Company , Good Energy
  • Uplifting: Your Time Has Come , Positive And Uplifting
  • Relaxed: Keep Going Forward , Soothing Medicine

PowerPoint is one of the most widely used presentation tools. The music playing in the background helps make a presentation more fun than it would be without the music, but there's often confusion over how to set up the audio track properly.

There are two basic file types you'll need to know - MP3s and WAVs. An MP3 is a compressed copy of an audio track that can be downloaded quickly. A WAV, or Waveform Audio File, is a digital format that supports higher quality, uncompressed audio, meaning it takes longer to download.

Both formats work in PowerPoint, but your choice depends on the type of presentation and how much music you want to include. To download music you need to add liked tracks to the Shopping cart, proceed to checkout and complete your payment. Download music instantly from the My Music > Tracks page.

  • Select the slide you want to add music.
  • On the Insert tab, click the Audio button.
  • Select the option 'Audio on My PC..'
  • Find and select your music files and click the Insert button.
  • Now you can set up a volume level for music.
  • Click on a sound icon to enable the Audio Tools panel.
  • Set on the checkbox 'Play Across Slides' so the music will play continuously throughout your presentation.

You can download free presentation music from the Free music page. Use free music in your presentations, slideshows, and videos without copyright concerns.

You can't just take a popular hit and put it into your presentation. You need to right to use music in your production. Purchase and download royalty-free presentation music by Melody Loops to use in your PowerPoint or Keynote presentation.

How to choose the right background music for your business presentation

You’ve worked hard on your pitch deck. You’ve carefully chosen the right images, colors, and text that will hopefully get your investors interested. Whether you are sending your pitch deck or presenting in front of an audience, choosing the right background track will really make your presentation shine!

We have outlined three tips below to help you choose the track that will drive your pitch home and strike an emotional chord with investors.

1. Keep a Steady Pace

Choose a track that glides along without a lot of fanfare. A steady pace will draw your audience in and help them focus on the content of each slide. Choose music that is gentle, positive and bright, with some moments that pause, then continue the dynamic.

2. Tone is Important

Setting the right tone that relates to your idea will convey clarity and credibility to your audience. Whether the tone of your pitch is powerful and engaging or gentle and reassuring, the background music should match.

3. Make an Emotional Connection

When pitching your product to investors, let your passion shine through. Your pitch deck should have all of the elements of a great story. If your presentation has a kick-in-the-pants spirit, the right background music will accentuate that.

Choosing the Best Music for Corporate Event Presentations

Making a presentation in front of a corporate event audience can be daunting. How can you get your audience’s attention over the conversation and buzz? How do you really make an impact? One way is to add a background track to your slide presentation. If you are presenting a slide show at a business dinner, conference, or trade show, read on to find out how to choose the best background music.

1. Taking the Subtle Approach

Set the tone for the occasion by adding minimalist, even-toned music— more of a backdrop that your audience can focus their ears on. Subtle music exudes a calm atmosphere. The right track can be barely noticeable but will still affect the audience in subtle ways.

2. High Energy Approach

If your slide show has a high-energy, celebratory feel, choose tracks that engage your audience to feel that. Steady driving drums, danceable synth lines, and that dreamy backdrop give an air of brightness and positivity to your corporate presentation.

Many families choose to display photographs of their loved ones at a visitation or a funeral, but some families like to make it a bit more entertaining.

Instead of placing faded family photos in old frames on a cardboard table, some families create a funeral slideshow with music or host virtual funerals with custom playlists. This can be easily accomplished with presentation software and a digital music account.

Tip:  Creating a funeral slideshow is just one task you might be undertaking for the first time after losing a loved one. For help with everything else and a guide throughout the process, check out our  post-loss checklist .

Jump ahead to these sections:, best upbeat family slideshow songs.

  • Best Sentimental Family Slideshow Songs

Best Instrumental Music for a Family Slideshow

The hardest part of creating a family slideshow or tribute video for some might not be the actual making of the video. In fact, the most challenging part of this task may probably be choosing music that will appeal to everyone in the family.

While you might be looking to set a specific tone with the slideshow and music, make sure to double-check with the immediate family of the deceased. Consider asking a family member or two about your music choice to ensure it is appropriate for the type of funeral or memorial being held.

COVID-19 tip:  If you're hosting a  Zoom funeral  using a service like  GatheringUs , make sure to test your audio beforehand so online and in-person guests can enjoy the songs together during the service.

Example of an upbeat song for a family slideshow over an image of photographs

Do you need a perfect song to accompany your family photos of dad sleeping in his favorite chair at Thanksgiving or your brother flexing his biceps in front of the Grand Canyon? While some are songs about family , others are generally happy, upbeat songs that will make your family vacation to Wally World seem better than it really was.

1. “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang

It may be overused, but “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang has probably been the accompanying music for thousands of slide shows depicting grandma blowing out 80 candles on her birthday cake and Aunt Barbara dancing at your cousin’s wedding. Go ahead and use the song in your slideshow too. It’s overused because everyone loves it.

2. “Holiday Road” by Lindsay Buckingham

“Holiday Road” was made famous in the movie “Vacation.” Now, you probably can’t hear the song without thinking of Chevy Chase punching a moose or eating a sandwich covered with dog urine. In fact, those might be the memories you want to evoke by using this song in your family photo slideshow.

3. “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas

The song’s lyrics provide some upbeat chants and a steady beat that can accompany a variety of family photos. Who doesn’t like to sing out, “Tonight’s the night? Let’s live it up!”

4. “I Feel Good” by James Brown

The Godfather of Soul’s signature song, “I Feel Good” was released in 1964. Since it has been around for decades, it may appeal to cross-generational audiences.

5. “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake

You may turn up this song whenever it comes up on your playlist, but did you know it was initially made to be the lead single for the movie Trolls ? This would be excellent background music for a series of photos of happy people.

6. “Happy” by Pharrell Williams

It seems as if some of the most upbeat, happy songs were written for kids’ movies. “Happy” was featured on the soundtrack for Despicable Me 2 .

7. “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge

A favorite at wedding dances, “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge, would be perfect to accompany your family photos of your cousins forming a human pyramid and your aunts gossiping while sitting on the porch.

8. “Home” by Phillip Phillips

Phillip Phillips wrote this song after winning season 11 of American Idol . The line, “Just know you’re not alone, ‘Cause I’m going to make this place your home” can be particularly touching for those who may be missing a loved one.

9. “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive” by Travis Tritt

Does your family like to celebrate the simple things in life, such as homemade soup or taking a Harley Davidson motorcycle out for a three-day cruise? This feel-good song can accompany the family slide show of country-music lovers.

10. “Just Another Day in Paradise” Phil Vassar

Leave it to country music singers to celebrate broken washing machines and sour milk. “Just Another Day in Paradise” can accompany photos showing everyday life, like the family working together on a home remodeling project or dad making pancakes for breakfast.

Best Sentimental Songs for Slideshows

Example of a sentimental song for a slideshow over an image of photographs

Are you making a presentation to remember a family member who recently died? Even if most of the photos show that family member smiling and having a good time, accompanying them with happy, upbeat songs may not feel right. Here are some sentimental songs to consider for your presentation.

11. “Yesterday” by The Beatles

There might be a tune by The Beatles that could fit almost any mood, but “Yesterday” may have the right tone and lyrics to go with your photos of the loved one you lost.

12. “Turn! Turn! Turn!” by The Byrds

Even though you are in mourning over the loss of a family member, it is important to realize that death is merely a season of life. As there is a time to be born, there is also a time to die. The lyrics for this song were based on verses found in the book of Ecclesiastes.

13. “Always on My Mind” by Willie Nelson

If you listen carefully, this song is more about a failed relationship than a death, but most people may focus instead on the chorus. The chorus of this song can help remind your family members that your loved one will be forever in their hearts.

14. “He Stopped Loving Her Today” by George Jones

This song would undoubtedly win a contest as the saddest song ever written. Only use this song on your slideshow if you want people to break down in tears.

15. “I Will Remember You” by Sarah McLachlan

This song is perfect for many sentimental occasions, from graduations to funerals.

16. “The Dance” by Garth Brooks

This song begins, “looking back on the memory of the dance we shared ‘neath the stars above.” It can cause many to shed a tear.

17. “I’ll Be There” by Jackson 5

If ever there was a song about the promise of relationships, this song by the Jackson 5 is it. The lyric, “I’ll be there to protect you. With unselfish love that respects you” can hit home for anyone who misses their loved one.

18. “Teach Your Children Well” by Crosby Stills, Nash and Young

Do you have photos of your loved one sharing moments with their children or great-grandchildren? This song would be the perfect choice as background music for those poignant moments.

19. “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion

Made famous by the movie Titanic , this smash-hit reminds us that love doesn’t die, even when the one you love freezes in the North Atlantic Ocean.

20. “Country Roads” by John Denver

Are you looking for a song to pair with images of the family farm? What better song is there than “Country Roads?”

Tip: If you're putting together a tribute playlist for a loved one, you can share it along with Spotify gift cards as a special present for family members to enjoy even after the presentation.

Example of an instrumental song for a family slideshow over an image of photographs

It’s hard to find a song that says exactly what you want. Some love songs imply that the relationship was troubled or rocky. Other songs may have a few lyrics that describe a romantic relationship instead of a familial one. That’s why you may want to use instrumental versions of songs if you are concerned about what message you are sending when you make a memorial video .

Here are some classics to consider.

21. "Canon in D Minor” by Pachelbel

Even though this song is often used in weddings and commercials for wineries, it can also be used for any special occasion. The first part of the piece has a slow tempo that would be appropriate for memorial videos.

22. “Die Walkure” by Wagner

Although not appropriate for a memorial video, adding this music to photographs that show slight turmoil can add comedic relief to your family slideshow.

23. “The Cradle” by George Winston

George Winston is your go-to guy for any type of modern piano music. Winston describes his style as folk piano. No matter what emotion you are trying to evoke, there is a song in his repertoire that would be appropriate.

24. “Fur Elise” by Beethoven

One of the most recognized pieces of classical music, “Fur Elise” would be perfect background music because it doesn’t evoke any particularly strong emotions.

25. “Suite No. 1 in G major” by Bach

This beautiful cello solo is recognizable as well as beautiful.

What Songs Did We Leave Off Our List?

Coming up with a list of songs that covers a wide variety of emotions is a tricky business. Of course, not all of these songs will fit for every occasion.

Choosing music to accompany your family photos would be a rather simple task. Besides picking family favorites, you could also choose ones that coordinate well with the photographs. It’s incredible how pairing the right photos with the right music can create an emotional experience.

9 Great Walk-On Songs for Corporate Events (Updated for 2023)

9 Great Walk-On Songs for Corporate Events (Updated for 2023)

Before you even read this list, go listen to the first 10 seconds of “ Ain’t No Mountain High Enough ” by Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye. Go on, we’ll wait. Those first few seconds have so much rhythm and emotion, it’s impossible for your foot to not start tapping juuussst a little, and for your energy to creep upwards.

Event planners have so many elements to coordinate that walk-on music might be at the bottom of your list. But music is one of the best tools you have for setting the right energy as your presenters walk onstage. Combined with great lighting , stage design , and high-quality sound , just a few seconds of the right song sets your keynote speaker or other presenters up for a successful talk that your audience remembers.

Do you Need a License to Play Music at an Event?

First, a note about licensing. For corporate events, you have to make sure you have the correct license to play copyrighted music. There are two organizations that meeting and event planners typically license music from — BMI and ASCAP. Both organizations license songs to businesses and then pay royalties to artists directly. You can usually get blanket coverage for a set amount of time, and the fees are based around how many attendees will be listening to the music.

This might seem like a lot of hassle for just playing just a few measures of a song. But keep in mind you may be able to use a song you license for recurring events you have in different locations. You can also use the song as a presenter walks offstage, so the energy stays strong as the presentation ends.

Plus, if you’re hosting a hybrid event, you can use it for transitions for your hold slides when there are short breaks, or your presenters are walking on or off stage.

Best Walk-On Songs for Corporate Events

1. September, Earth, Wind & Fire

It’s been a long day in a hotel ballroom. Is there a song that can energize people more than this classic?

2. About Damn Time, Lizzo

If you’re trying to pump positivity through the venue speakers, turn the volume up on this one. Young, old, on TikTok or not, this song exudes high-energy and fun. You will likely want to opt for a radio-edit version.

3. Train in Vain, The Clash

Feeling more of a rock energy? This song by The Clash works well as background walk-on music.

4. Levitating, Dua Lipa

An earworm for the ages. The chorus is instantly recognizable, and impossible to resist at least tapping your foot.

5. I Like You (A Happier Song), Post Malone and Doja Cat

The chorus of this song may be well suited for a more futuristic, tech-focused vibe.

6. Go Your Own Way, Fleetwood Mac

Instantly recognizable, with a calmer tone than more recent pop songs.

7. I heard It Through the Grapevine, Marvin Gaye

A classic chorus to instantly lift the mood of a room.

8. Music for a Sushi Restaurant, Harry Styles

Great for a sushi restaurant — or for your speaker to make their grand entrance onstage.

9. Instrumental Pop Covers

If you’re looking for something solely instrumental that still has high energy and your audience will recognize, consider one of the songs from Spotify’s Instrumental Pop Covers playlist . It includes upbeat instrumental classics versions of oldies and recent hits.

Free and Low-Cost Music to Play at Events

If you’re not able to get a license to play copyrighted songs, fear not! Your presenter absolutely does not have to walk on in total silence. There are many options for getting music you can legally play at events.

For example, the Free Music Archive has an incredible selection of public domain music (meaning there’s no copyright restrictions). Buffer also has a great list of places to find free music. Plus, there are numerous stock music websites where you can purchase instrumental music for an affordable cost.

Finally, your AV provider can help you pick a great song for your event and will make sure it’s cued up correctly so your presenter doesn’t miss a beat.

Tips For Making A Great Family Slideshow

Creating a great slideshow is an artful blend of technology, storytelling, and emotion. Here are some tips to ensure your slideshow resonates with your audience and becomes a memorable tribute to your family’s journey.

  • Select the Right Photos : Choose high-quality images that reflect significant moments, showcasing the bonds between family members. The best slideshows tell a story, so select photos that contribute to the narrative you want to share.
  • Use a Consistent Theme : Keep a consistent style throughout your slideshow. Whether it’s a colour scheme that complements your family photos or a specific frame that ties it all together, consistency is key.
  • Pick the Perfect Songs : The best family slideshow songs are those that reflect the mood you want to convey. Whether it’s the emotional depth of a sentimental ballad or the infectious energy of an upbeat song, ensure the music underscores the slideshow’s theme.
  • Pace Your Slideshow : The pace should match the energy of the content. Pair upbeat tunes with quick transitions for high-energy sections, and slow things down with sentimental melodies for more profound moments.
  • Incorporate Transitions and Effects : Use transitions sparingly and choose ones that add to the emotional impact without distracting from the images. Subtle effects can enhance the viewing experience without overwhelming it.
  • Include Text and Captions : Sometimes, a few well-chosen words can add context to a photo or express a sentiment that even the best songs can’t capture. Use text to denote dates, locations, or a simple message that speaks to the heart.
  • Narration Can Add a Personal Touch : A voiceover from a family member can add a deeply personal element to the slideshow, creating a stronger emotional connection with viewers.
  • End Strong : The final images and songs in your slideshow should leave a lasting impression. Consider ending with a powerful image or a song that encapsulates the essence of the family’s story.
  • Test Your Slideshow : Before presenting it, watch your slideshow several times to ensure the timing is right, the transitions are smooth, and the overall effect is what you envisioned.
  • Know Your Audience : Tailor the content to your audience. If it’s for a family reunion, focus on images and songs that reflect the family’s history and the good times shared.
  • Legal Considerations : If you’re sharing the slideshow beyond personal use, ensure you have the rights to use the music and images included to avoid copyright issues.
  • Keep It Short and Sweet : A great slideshow should be long enough to tell the story but short enough to keep everyone engaged. Aim for a duration of 2-8 minutes as the sweet spot.
  • Backup Your Slideshow : Always have a backup copy of your slideshow. Technical issues can happen, and having a backup means your family memories are preserved.
  • Involve the Family : Get input from family members on song choices, photos, and stories that they think should be included. It’s a great way to ensure the slideshow reflects the whole family’s experiences.
  • Set the Scene : If presenting at an event, ensure the environment is conducive to viewing. Good seating, the right lighting, and proper audio setup can make all the difference.

These tips can help you create a family slideshow that’s not just a sequence of images, but a tapestry of memories, enhanced by the perfect background music and a heartfelt narrative, capturing the beautiful song of family life.

Wrapping Up The Best Songs For Family Slideshows

When the last slide fades out and the final chord of a song lingers in the air, the impact of a well-chosen playlist on your family and friends is unmistakable. The right music can transform a simple slideshow into a profound shared experience, strengthening the emotional connection between your loved ones and the memories you cherish.

It’s the perfect songs that underscore the smiles, the tears, and the laughter, binding the individual moments into a cohesive narrative. Whether it’s the comforting strum of a classic by John Denver or the soulful ballad of Louis Armstrong, these are the sounds that resonate with the heartbeats of your kin.

So, as you put together the soundtrack for your family’s story, let the music be as unique as the memories you’re showcasing. Let “Country Roads” take you back to family vacations, or let the hopeful notes of “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors remind you of the great times yet to come. And when “Family Affair” by Sister Sledge comes on, it’s more than just a song—it’s an invitation to celebrate the beautiful tapestry of your family life.

Personalize your slideshow with songs that have danced through your living room, tunes that have been hummed in car rides, and melodies that have been the backdrop to your family’s milestones. This isn’t just about creating a slideshow; it’s about composing the soundtrack of your lives together, a collection of the best family songs that will continue to tell your story for years to come.

So, go ahead and sift through your list of songs, find those perfect tunes, and craft a slideshow that’ll be the heart of your next family gathering. After all, it’s these moments, set to the perfect background music, that become the legacy of love and laughter we leave behind.

This happy tune insists that there may be troubles, but you can control your attitude and reaction to these struggles.

Most motivational lyric: “In every life we have some trouble//But when you worry you make it double//Don’t worry, be happy.”

15. We Will Rock You – Queen

We Will Rock You by Queen is one of the best motivational rock songs for work. The famous clap-stomp alone is enough to get employees fired up, and the declaration of “we will rock you” is a rallying cry for teamwork. Most motivational lyric: “We will, we will rock you.”

All Star insists that everyone has something to offer and that trying and exploring is half the fun.

Most motivational lyric: “And all that glitters is gold//Only shooting stars break the mold.”

19. Titanium – David Guetta ft Sia

Titanium is an ode to endurance and resilience. This is a song workers can play on bad days to remind themselves that they are stronger than they think and that they will survive the current crises. Sia insists that she can take anything the world can throw at her and keep going, and inspires listeners to feel similarly invulnerable.

Most motivational lyric: “You shoot me down, but I won’t fall//I am titanium.”

20. 9 to 5 – Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton may be critical of bad bosses and the corporate slog in “9-to-5,” yet this classic is not anti-work. In the latter half of the song, Dolly encourages listeners to embrace their own ambitions and build something great. This subtle shift implies that listeners merely have to pay their dues and bide their time until they can take control of their careers, at which point all the tiny work annoyances previously mentioned will pay off.

Finding the Right Song for Your Family Slideshow: A Journey through Meaningful Melodies and Cherished Memories

Creating a family slideshow is akin to weaving a tapestry of cherished memories, and selecting the right song serves as the thread that ties these moments together.

The art of choosing the perfect song involves delving into a myriad of options, from the classics to contemporary hits, to find the tune that resonates deeply with the essence of your family’s journey.

As you embark on the journey to find the right song, consider the powerful impact of meaningful lyrics. Songs like Elton John’s “Your Song” or Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me” evoke sentiments of nostalgia, reminiscing on the significance of home and family. These lyrics possess the ability to unearth memories long forgotten, providing a lyrical backdrop that enhances the emotions portrayed by your visuals.

Venturing into the realm of best family songs, you encounter an array of choices that resonate with the bonds shared between family members. From the uplifting harmonies of The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations” to the soulful ballads of Luther Vandross, these tracks encapsulate the spectrum of emotions that weave through a family’s journey. Selecting a song that aligns with your family’s dynamic adds an extra layer of authenticity to your slideshow, making it a genuine reflection of your experiences.

Consider the genre of the song when choosing the perfect background music. An upbeat song like Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” can infuse a sense of carefree joy into a vacation slides or a family reunion montage. On the other hand, the acoustic guitar-driven melodies of Jack Johnson’s “Better Together” provide a soothing ambiance, ideal for reflecting on quiet moments and simple joys shared with loved ones.

In the realm of timeless classics, artists like Celine Dion, Vanessa Williams, and Ben E. King offer tracks that transcend generations. Songs like “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Stand By Me” continue to be the go-to choices for their emotional depth and universal appeal. Their melodies serve as a comforting presence during solemn occasions, such as a funeral slideshow, creating an atmosphere of reverence and reflection.

Navigating the sea of options, instrumental music emerges as a versatile contender. Instrumental tracks allow the viewer’s emotions to take center stage, with melodies serving as a canvas upon which personal memories are projected. Tracks like “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy or “Canon in D” by Johann Pachelbel provide the perfect background music that accompanies your family’s shared moments without overpowering them.

While the process of finding the right song might appear to be a daunting task, remember that there’s no singular “perfect” choice. The beauty lies in the diversity of options available, each capable of adding a unique dimension to your family slideshow. The journey to discovering the right song is a reflection of the intricate tapestry of your family’s experiences—a tapestry woven with threads of joyful celebrations, profound connections, and even moments of melancholy.

As you embark on your slideshow project, consider not only the great songs themselves but also the emotional connection they forge with your family’s history. Whether you’re commemorating a milestone , celebrating togetherness, or reliving the simple pleasures of life, the right song can be the bridge that transports your viewers to the heart of those cherished memories. So take your time, explore fresh ideas, and let the melodies guide you on this unforgettable journey of crafting a family slideshow that echoes the beautiful symphony of your lives.

Unlocking the Art of Crafting an Engaging Family Slideshow: 6 Essential Steps

In today’s digital age , preserving family memories has never been easier, thanks to the art of crafting engaging family slideshows. Gone are the days of flipping through dusty photo albums; now, the magic of technology allows us to curate a visual journey through our family’s history. A well-crafted family slideshow is more than just a compilation of images; it’s a narrative that celebrates milestones, encapsulates emotions, and immortalizes the bonds that tie family members together. Let’s delve into the key elements that unlock the art of crafting an engaging family slideshow that resonates with generations to come.

Visual Storytelling: The Heartbeat of Memories

At the core of an engaging family slideshow lies the art of visual storytelling. The process begins by meticulously selecting a collection of photographs that span the spectrum of family life. From newborn smiles to graduation caps tossed high, each image carries a story waiting to be told. These visuals aren’t mere pictures; they’re windows into moments that hold a special place in the hearts of family members. By curating a sequence that flows smoothly, from the earliest memories to the present day, you create a cohesive narrative that takes viewers on a captivating journey through time.

Music: The Soundtrack of Emotions

The soundtrack you choose for your family slideshow is akin to the emotions felt during the captured moments. The right music enhances the visual experience, evoking emotions that might otherwise remain unspoken. Much like a film score, the melodies you select have the power to elevate the mood, build tension, and celebrate joy. A heartfelt ballad can bring tears to your eyes as you remember a loved one’s passing, while an upbeat tune can transport you back to the sunny days of a cherished family vacation. Whether it’s the acoustic strumming of an artist like Jack Johnson or the timeless elegance of classical compositions, the music sets the tone and provides an emotional backdrop that deepens the connection with your slideshow.

Seamless Transitions: A Journey Uninterrupted

The flow of your family slideshow is as essential as the moments themselves. Seamless transitions between images maintain the rhythm of the narrative and keep viewers engaged. The art lies in creating a harmonious balance – not too fast to overwhelm, nor too slow to lose interest. Transitions can be as subtle as a fade or as dynamic as a zoom, each chosen to enhance the emotions of the visuals. These transitions stitch together individual images to create a cohesive tapestry of memories, where each frame is a thread that contributes to the larger story.

Captions and Quotes: Adding Depth to Memories

While images are worth a thousand words, captions and quotes enrich the storytelling. A few words of context or a heartfelt quote can provide insight into the emotions and significance of the moment. Captions guide viewers, especially those who might not be familiar with all the faces and places. A funny quote can elicit laughter, while a thoughtful reflection can tug at heartstrings. These textual elements inject a personal touch and lend depth to the shared memories, creating a layered experience for the audience.

Embracing Diversity: Celebrating Moments Big and Small

An engaging family slideshow isn’t just a highlight reel of grand events; it’s a celebration of both monumental occasions and everyday joys. While graduations and weddings hold their significance, the simple moments – a shared meal, a backyard game , a cozy evening by the fire – form the backbone of the family experience. Including these everyday snapshots showcases the warmth and intimacy of your family life, reminding viewers that the heart of the family beats in the ordinary as much as the extraordinary.

Legacy and Connection: A Gift for Generations

Crafting an engaging family slideshow is not only an exercise in reminiscing but also an act of preserving your family’s legacy. It’s a gift you bestow upon future generations, allowing them to glimpse into their roots and understand the journey that led to their present. The connections forged between family members are reinforced as stories are shared, and memories are relived. By capturing and curating these moments, you create a bridge between past, present, and future – a bridge that transcends time and space.

In conclusion, the art of crafting an engaging family slideshow is a harmonious blend of visuals, music, storytelling, and emotion. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the tapestry of your family’s journey, honoring the experiences that have shaped your collective identity. Whether it’s a family reunion, a milestone birthday, or a quiet evening at home, each memory contributes to the narrative, reminding us that life is not just a collection of moments, but a meaningful journey that weaves us all together.

Butterfly Fly Away – Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus

“Butterfly Fly Away” is an acoustic pop duet that Miley Cyrus recorded with her father Billy Ray Cyrus in 2009 for the film Hannah Montana. Although the recording was never produced as a single, it has achieved amazing commercial results in various countries.

In the song, the two describe the transition of a child into adulthood. The constant change of perspective is interesting. In turn, father and daughter present their feelings and experiences in the course of this development process. An interesting presentation from the child and parent's point of view is not only created acoustically.

Do I Make You Proud – Taylor Hicks

Taylor Hicks' success story began in 2006 as the winner of the American Idol competition. The song “Do I Make You Proud” was composed especially for him for this purpose. It was published on March 13, 2006.

The song right away hit number one on the Billboard Charts and was able to stay in that position for eight weeks. In this song, Hicks shares his deep love and gratitude towards his parents.

He describes it as the reason why he was able to achieve what he has now achieved. On the other hand, in the song, he also addresses the question of whether he also makes his parents proud. Many children grapple with this topic and Hicks gives them various impulses to think about it.

Wind Beneath My Wings – Bette Midler

This song was released on March 1, 1989. It went on to reach number 1 in the charts in the USA and Australia. In 1990, it won two Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Single of the Year. It is a classic hymn to parents and all other people who have accompanied us in life.

Wind Beneath My Wings expresses gratitude for the support and help we have received from these people on our life path. They are compared to wings that made it possible to reach unimagined heights and get to where we are now.

Kind and Generous – Natalie Merchant

Kind and Generous was the first single from Natalie Merchant's second album. After its release in 1988, the song reached the top 20 of the singles charts in the USA and Canada.

As the title suggests, the song is about the kindness and generosity of parents towards their children and the gratitude that goes with it. Natalie Merchant sings about various situations in which these attributes are repeatedly put to the test by the behavior of children and young people. But all situations could not upset the parents' behavior, even if they disagree with the children's decision. Many examples of unconditional love from parents.

Bridge Over Troubled Water – Simon & Garfunkel

Bridge Over Troubled Water was released in 1970 as the title track of the album of the same name as a single.

The rock ballad became a global hit that reached number one on the charts not only in the USA but also in many other countries around the world. It received four Grammys and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In the lyrics, Paul Simon describes the connection to the children from a parent's perspective.

He sings of unconditional love and support even in difficult times and that parents are always there for their children. Just like a bridge over troubled water.

Cat's in the Cradle – Harry Chapin

Harry Chapin released “Cat's in the Cradle” in1974 on his fourth album “Verities and Balderdash”. The single was his only number one hit and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The story of the song illuminates the special situation that one parent has no time for their son for professional reasons. The development is portrayed from both angles and ends with an absurd punchline. When the father retires and finally wants to deal with his son, he has no time for him because he is too involved in his job.

We Are Family – Sister Sledge

The vocal group Sister Sledge released “We Are Family” in 1979 and immediately reached number two on the Billboard charts in the USA. The single was also successful in many other countries and even became a number one hit in Canada.

In terms of content, the text keeps what the title promises. It is about solidarity and concentrated love in the family, mutual trust, togetherness, and unconditional support.

I'm already there – Lonestar

Lonestar's “I'm Already There” came out in 2001 and stayed at number one on the American Hot Country Charts for six weeks. It tells the story of a man who travels a lot and lives apart from his family most of the time.

He describes his feelings and the constant longing to be with loved ones. The reactions and emotions of the family members about his absence are also described.

Down to Earth – Justin Bieber

“Down to Earth” is a very early song by Justin Bieber. It was released in 2009 from his debut album “My World”. In America and Canada, it reached the lower regions of the charts.

The lyrics are very much inspired by Bieber's experiences and emotions, which he had to experience through the divorce of his parents. He tells of growing up in a falling family.

Family Affair – Sly and the Family Stone

Released in 1971 by the American family band Sly and the Family Stone, “Family Affair” was their third and final number-one hit in the US and Canada. It stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a total of three weeks.

The song tells of the ups and downs a family has to overcome. On the one hand, he emphasizes the cohesion through the consanguinity, but on the other hand also the difficulties in solving individual problems in the structure.

Flechas parts out the following line as a favorite: “Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity/To seize everything you ever wanted. One moment, would you capture it?/Or just let it slip.”

3. “The Final Countdown” – Europe

How to Make a “Good” Presentation “Great”

  • Guy Kawasaki

best songs for presentations

Remember: Less is more.

A strong presentation is so much more than information pasted onto a series of slides with fancy backgrounds. Whether you’re pitching an idea, reporting market research, or sharing something else, a great presentation can give you a competitive advantage, and be a powerful tool when aiming to persuade, educate, or inspire others. Here are some unique elements that make a presentation stand out.

  • Fonts: Sans Serif fonts such as Helvetica or Arial are preferred for their clean lines, which make them easy to digest at various sizes and distances. Limit the number of font styles to two: one for headings and another for body text, to avoid visual confusion or distractions.
  • Colors: Colors can evoke emotions and highlight critical points, but their overuse can lead to a cluttered and confusing presentation. A limited palette of two to three main colors, complemented by a simple background, can help you draw attention to key elements without overwhelming the audience.
  • Pictures: Pictures can communicate complex ideas quickly and memorably but choosing the right images is key. Images or pictures should be big (perhaps 20-25% of the page), bold, and have a clear purpose that complements the slide’s text.
  • Layout: Don’t overcrowd your slides with too much information. When in doubt, adhere to the principle of simplicity, and aim for a clean and uncluttered layout with plenty of white space around text and images. Think phrases and bullets, not sentences.

As an intern or early career professional, chances are that you’ll be tasked with making or giving a presentation in the near future. Whether you’re pitching an idea, reporting market research, or sharing something else, a great presentation can give you a competitive advantage, and be a powerful tool when aiming to persuade, educate, or inspire others.
