Overview Space Rig Promotion
The Promotion Assignment doesn't have to be done on the class that is being promoted. The player may choose to undertake the required missions on any class, just like any other assignment.
Promotion Benefits
After any one class is promoted, the player is permanently granted access to the following. These effects are account-wide and apply to all four classes.
- The ability to activate Machine Events randomly found in the caves of Hoxxes IV
- New assignments: Breach The Core and the Weekly Core Hunt
- Access to the Forge
In addition, the first promotion of a class confers the following benefits for that class only :
- Access to Deep Dives
- +1 Active Perk Slot
- +1 Honor Badge
Promotions of any class beyond the first one provide the following rewards:
Honor Badge
Honor Badge represents the amount of time the player has put into their dwarves, tracked separately for each class. It is granted upon first promotion and borders the character portrait with a bronze border and one white star. Every subsequent promotion will add another white star, for a maximum of three. After the fourth promotion, the border switches from bronze to silver, and the amount of white stars is reset back to one. Upon reaching three more promotions, the border switches from silver to gold, then gold to platinum, platinum to diamond, and finally diamond to legendary - the highest border for the Honor Badge.
After the three-star legendary level, the border switches to a final style with legendary coloring and four stars, as well as a numeric counter that displays the number of promotions gained past the three-star legendary level.
The list of Honor Badges goes as follows:
Promotion Costs
The costs of promoting the same class increase in a linear fashion after each promotion, but this increase is separate for each of the four classes.
Detailed costs for each class and promotion can be found in the table below.
- Promotions were known as Retirement in Update 18: Job Opportunities and changed in Update 19 . Instead of keeping all unlocked class items, Retirement reset all unlocked class items.
- Update 30: Going 1.0 added three more Honor Badge: Platinum, Diamond and Legendary.
- Season 05: Drilling Deeper added a fourth legendary Honor Badge, which displays the number of promotions past legendary III.

Deep Rock Galactic Yuletide Event [2023]
As the year drew to a close it was only a matter of time before the Yuletide Event returned to Deep Rock Galactic. This little event brings with it time-limited assignment missions that will reward players with matrix cores, resources, beer-crafting ingredients, and most importantly a lovely Christmas-themed cosmetic.
Table of Contents
The Yuletide Event in Deep Rock Galactic
The Yuletide event starts on the 14th of December and will last until January 4th. As We’ve mentioned previously, the assignment board will now present players with new assignments.
These assignments end with the event so make sure not to miss out on them. They are quick to complete, however. This year’s assignment will give matrix cores as well as beer ingredients.
The assignment for last year’s Christmas cosmetics won’t give any cores, but it will give beer ingredients, so We figure it’s worth doing for players who already have all the cosmetics.
Presents will now spawn in the caves of Hoxxes. When opened they will either release Swarmers or Lootbugs. However, they also have a very small chance of dropping Error cubes. Error Cubes awards players with a bonus of 4k experience points when deposited.
As such, it might be worth it to open these presents. Especially if their opening can be done in an expedient manner.
Another thing found in the caves is the Yuletide elf mob. It has the HP of a Glyphid Praetorian, but no offensive capabilities. When under attack it will simply start quickly running away.
It can run on ceilings and walls. All in all, it’s not a particularly tough opponent, and it will quickly succumb to coordinated fire from the team. Once its HP is depleted it will become a carryable object.
Deposit it to gain a 2x Performance Pass bonus.
Yuletide event in Deep Rock Galactic conclusion
The Yuletide event presents a perfect time to jump back into Deep Rock Galactic. Those who haven’t had the time to complete the battle pass can now boost their progress for the duration of the event.
Now that Rockpox has been nerfed and can be disabled as of the Maintenance Update , the Yultide event also presents a good time to jump back for those taking a break from Season 4. Veterans of the game get a bit more content to keep them occupied. Good stuff all around. Rock and Stone, miner.

Rastko has been gaming for well over two decades now. It all started with his father introducing him to various “fun” programs on his old IBM PC he had in his workplace.
This would eventually bloom into a love for the medium as well as all things hi-tech. He shares a love for a variety of genres, but his favorite will always be FPS, especially those with COOP elements.
His current favorite COOP games include Warframe and Deep Rock Galactic.

Moreover, promotion is the only way to progress past player rank 33, which is the limit if all four classes stay at their maximum 25. A number of cosmetic items are awarded from Prestige Assignments, which become available only at certain ranks and stretch out as far as 100.
With the frequency of the Limited Time Assignments, it would be nice to see how long they would last for so that people can plan for it. Why isn't there a timer anyway? It doesn't seem like a big deal to have this aspect changed.
If i complete the Yearly Bonus Assignment on game save number two (for example) I will get this hats on save number one or not? The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.
