The first and most important job is to exercise extreme caution when making a decision. A goal leads to the correct career. So, here are a few steps to remember at every stage of your existence.

  • Be proactive at all times

  • Keep pessimism at bay
  • Procrastination should be avoided

The aim in life is really important because an aimless person is like a rudderless ship in the sea and does not know the direction of their destination. Likewise, if we also don’t have an aim in our life, we won’t know where to reach. So if you want to be successful and do something in your life then you just need to pick an aim. There are so many aims in human life. I have an aim also. I want to become a professor. I hope I will be able to become a professor one day and I will study hard for it.

The aim in life is really important because an aimless person is like a rudderless ship in the sea and does not know the direction of their destination. Likewise, if we also don’t have an aim in our life, we won’t know where to reach. I always wanted to be a professor and now my family is inspiring me to become a professor too. My parents are really supportive and they respect my decision. My favourite subject is English . My teachers are really helpful and they help me a lot to understand everything on this particular subject. They also guide me a lot about future decisions.

Ms. Divya is my English professor and she knows about my future plans. She always inspires me to do better and work harder. The reason behind My Future Plan: I have a few specific reasons for my future plan. I was once explaining some doubts of my classmates and I realized that I really like explaining and teaching. After my English Honours degree, I will prepare for the Master’s degree. I am pretty much confident about that and I know I will work hard to pursue my dream. Everyone should have a reasonable aim in their life that will help them to reach success.

The aim in life is really important because an aimless person is like a rudderless ship in the sea and does not know the direction of their destination. Likewise, if we also don’t have an aim in our life, we won’t know where to reach. Thus to achieve it one has to overcome many obstacles and setbacks from time to time. I always wanted to be a professor and now my family is inspiring me to become a professor too. My parents are really supportive and they respect my decision. I have seen lots of my friends want to become a professor, and some of them want to pursue an MBA . There are a lot of aims and goals available that students can choose in their lives. Right now in this world, the top trending professions are Doctor, Teacher, Programmer, Designer, Architect, Marketer, Supervisor, Manager, Engineer, etc. Maybe you have something unique in you and you want to pursue that. So different people adopt different aims according to their inclinations, tastes or perceptions about life. My teachers are really helpful and are always guiding and helping me with my future plans.

They have always inspired me to do better and work harder. I was once explaining some doubts to my classmates and I realized that I really like explaining and teaching. Later, I experienced teaching while doing an internship with an NGO. I went to a slum and taught kids there. I felt a different kind of satisfaction after teaching them. At that time I realized that I had never felt happier than this and decided to become a professor. I am one who enjoys exploring new places and getting to know new cultures, languages, and cuisines, and working as a professor offers many chances for me to develop those interests. After my English Honours degree, I will prepare for the Master’s degree. Then I am planning to take the UGC NET exam . Another big plus is the working hours that academia can offer, which are frequently more flexible than in other professions.

The biggest advantage of being a professor is that I find jobs in many places worldwide. I am really honest and passionate about my aim in life. It is surely a long journey but I will try my best to reach my goal and I suggest everyone do the same. According to me, timely execution of an action plan with a proactive attitude is the key to success. One of the best ways to stay motivated is by visualizing the change and likewise by achieving step-by-step milestones.

My aim in life is to grow to be a doctor in the future. I believe that medicine is one of the noblest professions to pursue in the world. I belong to a family of doctors and just like my mother, I aspire to be a neurosurgeon. The study of neurology and its impact on our behaviour, personality, and character is what intrigues me the most about the field. My curiosity towards the medical world and ambition to be a doctor is what motivates me to study harder and more diligently. The study of medicine is not easy but it opens up a whole new world of interaction. Learning about basic cell function to discovering the mechanisms of our brain is a fascinating journey. As a school student, I wish to excel in certain subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, maths, and psychology so that I can pursue my dream of becoming a doctor and a neurosurgeon. I hope to participate in different charities, health clinics, and services to gain the relevant skills one needs to be a doctor. I wish to work upon my social and communication skills because good communication is the backbone of every industry. I have the confidence and hope that one day I will achieve my aim in life to become a doctor.

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instil a love of learning.” Teachers are the foundation of a good society, they not only facilitate learning but also inspire children to follow their dreams and goals in life. This is why my aim in life is to become a teacher. My teachers have had a tremendous impact on my life, they taught me to believe in myself and follow my path no matter what. I wish to inculcate this belief and nurture it. Becoming a teacher can help me spread this knowledge and belief of believing in one’s ability to achieve their goals, to be individualistic and creative. I believe that I can be a good teacher because of my experience, humility, and caring nature. I possess all the skills and qualities that a promising teacher should possess. I hope one day I get the opportunity to follow my passion for teaching and educating the world in the future.

My aim in life is to become an engineer. Belonging to a family of engineers I have aspired to become a mechanical engineer like my father. Efforts anyone puts in becoming an engineer will be the best investment ever. I will face many challenges at work but it will open an array of opportunities for me around the world. My curiosity towards the engineering world and ambition to be an engineer is what drives me to study harder and more diligently. I have started to prepare myself for this journey from the school level. Engineering is all about creating new products and bringing up changes in the existing ones for better functioning. I have started participating in various Olympiads, competitions to level up my knowledge and turn my passion into a career. I hope one day I get the opportunity to follow my passion for engineering and bring a change in the future.

Speech on My Aim of Life

Aim is not only a target that a person sets for himself; for many people, it is a dream that they strive very hard and put forth a lot of effort to realise. Your life's purpose doesn't have to be shared by everyone. Your goal will be perceived differently by each person.

  • 10 Lines on My Aim of Life Speech

Having an aim in life gives a meaning, and provides a purpose to your life.

Aim makes a person mature, responsible, and humble towards their life, and others.

Sometimes, we go through a phase in life, at which time we want something to go on.

Aim is the thing that inspires and motivates a person to grow more, and make their life meaningful.

Aim is hope for a bright and better future, an individual holds on to their aim and works hard to make it come true one day.

It teaches us that if we want a better tomorrow for ourselves, we must work today.

When someone achieves his aim, he or she feels honoured, and gives a sense of pride.

It improves our self-esteem, and encourages us to work better and more for our future.

Sometimes, the aim does not belong to just one person. Many people who support us also have hope for our aim.

My Aim in life is to become an army officer, and my parents support me every day to make my aim come true.

Short Speech on My Aim of Life

Long speech on my aim of life.

Speech on My Aim of Life

Typically, as we grow older and into adulthood, we begin to set goals for our lives. In different classes and stages of life, we have varied goals. Our aspirations, dreams, and occasionally even needs are included in our goals. But we are unable to make our needs our goal. We need to be able to tell them apart.

An objective is something for which we work hard for diligently day and night and which provides us a reason to live a purposeful life.

My goal has always been extremely clear and straightforward. I've never wanted to be a scientist, doctor, or engineer. I want to dance because I enjoy it so much. When I was younger, watching reality television always inspired me to dance. I enjoyed imitating the show's dance moves and I frequently became upset when I was unable to do it. When that happened, my mother and father would approach me and tell me that just because you aren't doing something right now doesn't mean you won't be able to do it tomorrow. The most crucial step is to try. Since then, I've tried my best, regardless of whether I can do it well or not. My goal in life is to thrive, thus I strive to achieve that every day. I assert my goal with the firm belief that I will succeed in achieving it.

Finally, there is always someone who encourages you to pursue your goals, and for me, that person has always been my parents.

Aim has different definitions for every individual, logically it can be referred to as a goal, target, and with many terms. The first step is to set, and figure out our aim. When we set our aim, it motivates us to achieve something in life. An aim cannot be described as big or small. Every aim has its meaning and purpose. We should make many small efforts to achieve a goal.

When a person goes somewhere, he must know the destination where he is going. Because when we know the destination, we know the directions. Similarly, first, we must be clear about our aim, and then start to walk on that road, as of now we have clear directions on which we have to move on.

Importance of Having an Aim

Its importance varies for different people. Some people think of it as a target that they need to achieve at any cost, this type of feeling towards an aim comes with various conditions. An aim gives meaning to life, but we should pursue it peacefully and carefully. During the period of achieving the aim, if you are feeling pressured, and do not have peace of mind, then it is not your aim, it is just an ambition that you want to accomplish.

For some people it is not just an ambition, it is a purpose that gives meaning to their lives, and when you make efforts to achieve this aim, you have peace in your mind, and a true hope that one day you will achieve it, and till then, you have to work for it each day.

My Aim of Life

I always thought that an aim should be something bigger, and that when somebody hears your aim, they must appreciate you. But as I moved on, I have learnt that an aim is not something that you need to be appreciated for, whether it is smaller or bigger. An aim and your opinions, and feelings towards your aim describe you, not your aim.

When I was a kid my aims changed every day, whenever I saw someone at a high post or achieving something bigger. I always wanted to be that person. But gradually, I understood a lot of things, and now I truly want to be an engineer. When I work for it I have peace of mind, and I am passionate about studying, experimenting, and learning about engineering.

There is always someone who supports you, sometimes secretly, and sometimes openly. In my case, it has always been my mother and father. They always supported me to do whatever I like, and whenever I do it.

Aim For The Moon, If You Miss, You May Hit A Star

If you are pursuing your aim with true efforts and hard work, the aim will come true one day. Even if you cannot achieve your aim, you should not get upset. In life, everything comes with a catch. Perhaps in your journey of achieving your goal you may find something that is right for you, and made for you. And finally, if you cannot get the moon, you will get a star. And remember, an aim should not be your life, your life should be your aim.

Aim of My Life Speech – 1

Hon’ble Principal, Vice Principal, Beloved teachers and My Dear Friends – I welcome everyone to the Speech delivering competition!

I, Aarushi Sharma of class 12 th , have been assigned the topic Aim of my Life in today’s Speech Competition. It is very important to have an aim in life and that is what keeps us going, I hope all my friends agree on this. Even if you don’t achieve your dream you shouldn’t lose heart rather fight all odds, stand up, work hard again and try to achieve your aim. Your hard work will definitely help you get success in your life.

I am not a highly ambitious person who wants to become a millionaire rather I am the one who believes in small things as they will give us more happiness than anything else. I have always dreamt of becoming a teacher since class sixth. My aunt has always been my role model and I have admired her always. As I became mature I realized that dreams cannot be fulfilled easily and you need to put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice a lot of things that others might pursue during that time, even you would also be interested in doing those things but you should always be determined and focus towards your aim since you will get a lot of time for enjoyment but what comes first is the aim of your life.

The difficulties that I have faced in my life have made me realize one thing for sure and that is literacy. Education provides you with everything which includes money, fame and success. My aim to become a teacher is because it is a way by which I will be able to serve my country. Unless we are educated our country cannot prosper in terms of development and growth.

At this juncture of life, I have understood that a teacher’s life is full of hardships. I respect and admire my teachers as they sacrificed their family life and took time out to solve our issues and problems. I will also have to do similar things and somewhere or the other I am always ready for these challenges. It’s very important for a teacher to understand his student so that it becomes easy to solve his problems. Every student is equal for a teacher and no one can be discriminated.

Teachers are the building blocks; they help in transforming a student into a responsible individual. It’s important that every teacher needs to be dedicated and passionate for the teaching profession as it requires a lot of hard work and sacrifices. Thanks to my beloved teachers I have grown looking up to them for their learnings and showing me the path towards a bright future. I hope one day my hard work would pay off and I would be able to achieve my dream to join the teaching profession.

Aim of My Life Speech – 2

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, Beloved Teachers and My Dear Friends – A sincere welcome to all of you!

Today standing before you all gives me immense pleasure to deliver a speech on aim of my life. Being the head boy of this school, I would like to thank all my teachers for this wonderful opportunity.

Choosing a career was never very easy for me. I was just like you all changing my dreams and ambitions every now and then, as whenever you meet an influential personality you start believing that you too want to become like him/her one day. You too start seeing yourself at that position but a wrong decision would lead you nowhere. It’s important to analyze yourself and think that what gives you happiness and that ultimate thought is what you desire to become in life.

Before choosing my dream I too went through this process. I would like to share my experience through which I found my aim of life. One day I was going back home from my school and I saw a person with torn cloths begging for food. He went to each and every car begging and also requested them to save the life of his son who was in a very critical condition lying on the pavement. Just then he came to the car of a doctor. The doctor immediately came out of his car and looked to his son‘s condition and also provided him food. I also wanted to do something for him but I found myself very helpless that day. But I was very happy by the doctor’s gesture, and that incident made me realize that I could also save someone’s life if I too become a doctor and that was the day from where I have nurtured the dream of becoming a doctor and serving the poor.

My teachers and parents have always motivated and guided me that what should I be doing to achieve my dream. They also told me that a doctor’s profession requires sleepless nights and I will also have to sacrifice my family time by spending more time taking care of my patients. I completely acknowledge that it will require a lot of hard work, sleepless nights and sacrifices but the happiness and satisfaction I will get by helping poor and needy people will be reward for the my hard work and sacrifices.

I hope one day I will become a doctor and make my parents and teachers feel proud of my achievement. At the end if I have inspired anyone of you by my speech to become a doctor today then I would really be very happy and satisfied.

Aim of My Life Speech – 3

Hon’ble Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and My Dear Friends – Warm Greetings to Everyone!

I, Preet Sinha, thank you all for giving me this wonderful opportunity to speak before you all about my aim of life. As you all know, I belong to a middle class family where it’s impossible to have various kinds of luxuries. From my childhood days itself this normal life seemed monotonous to me and it was while growing up I realized that I want more from my life.

This may seem a bit weird to you all but I dream to become an entrepreneur. All of you sitting here might have different dreams which are considerably attached to the field of studies. I always wanted to do something out of the box. In the process of becoming an entrepreneur you first need to understand that the process to achieve your dream is not going to be simple enough rather life would be throwing lots of challenges towards you which you will have to overcome.

This is how everyone achieves their dreams and passions in life. Life is never a bed of roses instead it will offer thorns as well which would be your failures and through them you need to learn from your mistakes and then again move ahead in life with greater courage and energy to handle any situation that comes your way.

At one point in time, I did realize that I never wanted a normal life but the process or the journey to become an entrepreneur was unclear. One day while watching an advertisement I got to know about something referred to as “Startup”. While searching for the term it became clear that even the government of India is funding various startups if the idea behind the business will make better changes to our society. These days as a school student like you I am thinking of a business idea that will help in some or the other way to change our Indian society in a positive way.

You all might be thinking that I want to become a big business man and earn lots of money to buy luxurious lifestyle for myself but I would like to make it clear to you all that I dream of becoming an entrepreneur where the focus will be mainly on building new ideas and values instead of just minting money which is the core objective of every businessman.

Entrepreneur community has a variety of individuals ranging from educators, youth, mothers etc. There is no age for becoming an entrepreneur as it only requires skills, excellent ideas, pure passion and hard work which can be achieved in any phase of life. Every one of us present here have certain capability and if we try to take risk in life it will automatically reduce our fears and will help in overcoming them. An entrepreneur never surrenders or gives up his dream. If you fail then have the courage to stand up again and fight for your dreams and passion in life which will in turn give you an edge over others.

Aim of My Life Speech – 4

Warm Greetings Everyone – May this day finds you in the best of spirits!

I, Saurabh Aggarwal, your senior manager welcome you all to this small team gathering. These days, I have been noticing a drop in enthusiasm in my team members the impact of which is inevitably getting reflected in the work performances. I have been reported this by Mr. Shikhar Roy who coordinates with you guys directly. Of course, any slight negligence on the part of work cannot be tolerated, but this doesn’t imply that we can simply gloss over the dropping enthusiasm of our employees. I want to take both the things hand in hand and guys if you have any personal or professional grievances, which you are unable to resolve at your end, then please feel free to discuss it with me.

Secondly, the reason why I called for this team meeting is to deliver a succinct speech on Aim of My Life. I guess this topic is very appropriate for this occasion. Guys, do you know what the aim of your life is? It is very important to align our dreams and passion with our career goals. These days, the rising dissatisfaction is continuously observed in our youth because they have not been able to realize their dreams in life and end up doing something else. As a result of which, they are not able to deliver their 100 percent on their work desk.

So it is better to ask yourself this question and try to retrospect what exactly the aim of your life is. If there is a rising discontent regarding the nature of your work or the work responsibilities which you guys find yourself unable to cope up with, then it is very much required of you to come out of your shell and discuss these concerns with your managers. We will try our best to look into your work interest and give you tasks accordingly. Even though it may sound clichéd, I would still like to say that love what you do and do what you love.

If I were to give you my example, I would say that since my college days I had a dream of working in a top-notch company at the top most position. And the day I got into ABC Company, there was no looking back. Despite my hectic work schedule, I enjoy what I do. So friends, you also need to figure out what you like doing and if there is anything we can do anything to improve the work environment for you. Life is very precious; enjoy every bit of it even while working. Achieve your every possible dream and do what gives you happiness because if you will not remain happy, you will not be able to keep others happy.

According to me, the aim of life should be to work hard and party harder because if there will be no enjoyment life would become dull and boring. It will then seem that everything has come to a standstill. Try and strike a balance in between everything that you do and you will find yourself enjoying your life. This is all from my side for today. Now, enjoy the party and refresh your brains.

Speech about Life

Good morning one and all present here. I am standing before you all to share my thoughts through my speech about life. Life is a continuous ongoing process that has to end someday. Life is all about adoring yourself, creating yourself. A quote for you that life can be only understood backward but it must be lived forwards. Life itself is a golden opportunity to live a meaningful life and support others to do so. It doesn’t matter how many years you live. But it matters how well you live a quality life.

The fear of death always threatens our lives. Every person has to face death sooner or later, but that doesn’t mean that it should discourage us from living life to the fullest or achieving our goals. A person is wise only when he/she is ready to meet destiny when it comes, but until that time enjoys every bit of it. It is a sense of readiness. It is a journey in everyone’s life wherein we have to cross the bridge of death to be able to wake up to a life eternal.

Human life – A very Precious Gift

Human life is truly a very precious gift. Each moment of human life carries us an opportunity, to act to develop and express our virtues. Every moment unlocks the path to us to receive blessings. This is the truth that life gives us both positive and negative situations. What is really important is how we react.

Life is the gift of God in the form of trust that we will make it meaningful in whatever we can. We are all unique individuals. No one is born like you and no one will ever be, so cherish your individuality. Many times, I come across people accusing God of things that they don’t have. They always cursing their lives. But, do they realize that this life itself is precious? If we make it worth living and work hard towards positivity.

Life is a Journey, not a Destination

Life is nothing but a journey with lessons, hardships, heartache and special moments. It will ultimately lead us to our destination, our purpose in life. The road will not always be a plane; in fact, throughout our travels, we will face many challenges.

These challenges will always test our courage, strengths, weaknesses, and faith. Along our way, we may encounter obstacles that will come between the paths and we are destined to take.

In order to be on the right path, we must overcome these obstacles. Sometimes these obstacles are really blessings in disguise, only we don’t understand that at the time. The secret of life is best known to those who are not attached to anything deeply so much.

Therefore, they remain out of touch with worries and shifting fortunes of their lives. They are the people who do not measure their lives in terms of materialistic possessions, but by measuring their lives in terms of people they cannot live without.

Lastly, I will conclude that we should make life worthwhile. It should be with the love of our family and friends that life can be made beautiful. Life can be more beautiful and purposeful by discharging our duties in our family, at work, society and the world at large.

'My purpose in life is to tell stories'

Asha Prabhat: Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies & Government & College Scholar

A&S Communications

Asha Prabhat

Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies, Government, Robert S. Harrison College Scholar Marlboro, N.J.

What is your main extracurricular activity and why is it important to you?

two people with flowers

I had two main extracurricular activities — being an active competitor on the Cornell Speech team and leading the student-run nonprofit, The Advocacy Project. But they're both connected. As a speech competitor, I hone skills of public speaking and storytelling, telling narratives of marginalized communities and my own identities that often go untold. But advocacy is a privilege, a skill that not everyone has access to. With the advocacy project, I and the other founders created a curriculum to teach how to argue, persuade and advocate for causes communities might be passionate about. Both activities informed one another and subsequently informed me — they taught me that my purpose in life is to tell stories, whether others' or even my own.

What are the most valuable skills you gained from your Arts & Sciences education?

I learned how to put many different types of authors in conversation with one another. As a College Scholar, I was able to take many various types of classes in different disciplines, as the College Scholar program champions interdisciplinary research and education. Now, my thesis focuses on putting legal writing, feminist theory and global development programming in conversation with one another. A&S, College Scholars and my amazing professors gave me the tools to do that.

five people holding a plaque

What have you accomplished as a Cornell student that you are most proud of?

This year, I was the world champion and the national champion in persuasive speaking. My speech discussed the impacts of PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, on patients and why it is so under-diagnosed. Using my own experiences and narrating other brave patients' stories, I created a call to action for medical communities to take this condition seriously. The speech was a culmination of a year of work, and winning both a world and national title proved to me that my experiences, even the painful ones, were worth it. Seeing my coach cry during the performance was just icing on the cake!

How have your beliefs or perspectives changed since you first arrived at Cornell?

Coming to Cornell, I expected to get lost in the sea of people, given how big the campus is. But I discovered that within certain niches are beautiful communities. Because of my involvement, I was very active in the political advocacy space at Cornell. I was incredibly surprised to find out how motivated every student leader on campus is to support other groups' work. From Planned Parenthood to Consent Ed to the Cornell Anti-Detention Alliance to many more, I have worked with so many organizations who have gladly encouraged their members to attend our events, reposted our infographics and event flyers, and co-sponsored and co-led our programming. These connections are longlasting, as I've relied on these leaders for four years now and their support has never wavered. So I implore incoming students to find the leaders in your niche and build those connections.

Who or what influenced your Cornell education the most?

a group of people standing near a stairway

I would say the Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies program influenced my Cornell education the most. From learning about theory that has allowed me to contextualize my own identities to exploring history via under-discussed lenses, I have learned more in this academic space than anywhere else in my life. FGSS classes informed my speeches for the speech team, informed my choice in internships (for example, I interned for the Center for Reproductive Rights after working on a post-Dobbs talk with the FGSS program) and informed my thesis for the College Scholar program, as I explored caste, gender and victim in rural India.

English Summary

2 Minute Speech On My Aim In Life In English

Good morning to everyone in this room. I would like to thank the principal, the teachers, and my dear friends for allowing me to speak to you today about my aim in life. It is reasonable to assume that one of the most important things in life is having an aim. Every living thing has an aim in its existence of some kind. It is universal, whether it is in a tiger’s desire to hunt deer or in a person’s desire to succeed in life and get respect.

It’s said that a person without an aim is like a bird without a map when it comes to flight. When you have objectives, your life will have meaning and purpose. To set an objective, you must first ascertain your areas of interest. Because if you undertake anything half-heartedly, you won’t succeed.

People frequently declare their aspirations to be a doctor, astronauts, dancers, actresses, painters, and other professionals. But my ultimate ambition in life is to work as a teacher. I’ve always been attracted to this field of work and hold it in the highest esteem. In other words, teaching is the job that is least valued and respected.

I want to work as a teacher since it is a rewarding career that shapes kids from a young age. I want to improve the world by being a good teacher to change it. I am aware of the challenges teachers encounter, yet I still want to work in education. I’ll put forth a lot of effort and work hard to accomplish my goal so I can improve the world. Thank you.

Every person needs to have a life goal. They are recognised and helped in achieving their dreams and goals by a target. Those without a career plan have no reason to live. A person without direction is like a structure without pillars. They complain, get thrown out, and frequently blame fate.

Every person has unique goals. Some people desire to be lawyers, while others want to be doctors. Some people might be inspired to become teachers, while others might decide to imitate their favourite performer and become actors.

My Aim in Life Short Essay

Every person creates a distinct story within the vast fabric of life, motivated by their goals, desires, and aspirations. My life’s ambition is to become a committed teacher since I think this line of work has the ability to significantly influence young students’ lives and mold the course of the future.

I have always been moved by the revolutionary role that teachers play in society. Instructors possess the power to kindle pupils’ interest, foster intellectual development, and impart moral principles. Being an inspiration, educator, and support system for the next generation is my life’s work.

Developing young brains and assisting pupils in realizing their own potential is an inspiring thought. Teachers are the builders of this crucial process, education being the cornerstone of both individual and society advancement. My goal is to establish a stimulating and supportive learning environment in the classroom so that kids can achieve academic success and grow into responsible, kind, and knowledgeable adults.

Teaching involves more than just passing along knowledge—it also involves committing oneself to lifelong study and personal development. Since education is a dynamic area, I view my work as an educator as an ongoing process in which I develop and modify my methods of instruction to better meet the needs of my pupils.

I am completely aware that a job in education has its own unique set of difficulties. Managing the needs of varied pupils, adjusting to their varying learning styles, and maintaining order in the classroom can be difficult challenges. These difficulties, nevertheless, don’t stop me; rather, they motivate me to develop as a teacher and get better prepared to help my kids.

My Aim in Life Essay in 500 Words

My life’s goal is to become a Doctor. Since I was a young child, I had desired to become a doctor. The functioning of the human body has always captivated me. I also loved being of service to others, and I knew that being a doctor would enable me to do both. Doctor is one of the noble profession in the world.

I have made the decision to seek a bachelor’s degree in medicine after my class 12 exam. I want to take a post-graduate degree in general medicine after receiving my bachelor’s. I intend to sit for the NEET PG test in order to achieve that goal. The working hours that the medical field may provide, which are typically more flexible than in other professions, is another significant benefit.

Although medical school is difficult, it is also incredibly rewarding. I’m picking up a lot of knowledge about the human body and how to identify and manage illnesses. Additionally, I get to work with patients and support them in achieving better health.

I am aware that I have a long way to go before I can practise medicine professionally. But I’m committed to achieving my objective. Helping people is something I’m passionate about, and I think being a doctor is the finest way to achieve it.

I want to be a doctor for a few specific reasons. I wish to start by assisting individuals in leading better lives. I want to contribute to ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality healthcare because I think that everyone should. My second goal is to progress the medical industry. My goal is to create novel treatments and cures for illnesses, which is why I am interested in research. Thirdly, I wish to serve as an example for other youth. No matter where they are from or what obstacles they encounter, I want to demonstrate to them that it is possible to realise their aspirations.

The greatest benefit of being a doctor is that I can find work anywhere in the world. I have a strong sense of honesty and passion for my life’s purpose. Though I know it will take time, I will do everything in my power to accomplish my goal, and I advise everyone to do the same. The secret to success, in my opinion, is to execute an action plan on time and with initiative. Achieving incremental goals and visualizing the change are two of the finest methods to maintain motivation.

To sum up, I want to be a doctor because I consider it to be a privilege and a responsibility. This goal is based on the desire to uplift and treat people from all walks of life, encouraging them to live a healthy and happy life.

Steps to Achieve My aim in Life

To reach your goals, you need to remember some non-avoidable points that aid your success. A person with eagerness to achieve his intentions must be proactive, well-balanced, embrace failure, stay positive, keep track of your goals, and tell everyone with confidence.

The Individual must avoid negativity, seek guidance from others, visualize the result of your goals, and be open to feedback and reset your goal.

Education is a booming sector that gives a person the power to change the world. A teacher is a potter that makes molds the individuals throughout their life. According to Willian Arthur Ward, the unexceptional teacher teaches his/her students, a good teacher explains thoroughly, a superior teacher performs demonstrations, while the most excellent teacher inspires young minds.

My Aim in life is to become a teacher and inspires young minds. I sometimes wonder why do I aspire to become a teacher, and the choice emanated from a series of life experiences. I aim to become part of this honorable profession, and to one, to inspire the students.

My Aim in life

My Aim in Life Paragraph

My aim in life is to become a successful entrepreneur. To achieve this goal, I have set certain milestones for myself and work hard every day to make them a reality.

To begin with, I have always been interested in entrepreneurship, and I firmly believe that it is the best way to create a positive impact on society while also achieving personal success. My vision is to build a company that offers innovative solutions to real-world problems, while also creating a positive work environment that fosters creativity and collaboration among employees.

In order to achieve this goal, I am currently pursuing a degree in business management, which has provided me with a strong foundation in various aspects of entrepreneurship such as marketing, finance, and human resource management. Additionally, I am also gaining practical experience through internships and part-time jobs in the business sector, which is helping me to develop my skills and gain a deeper understanding of the industry.

However, becoming an entrepreneur is not an easy task, and there are many challenges that I will have to overcome along the way. One of the biggest challenges will be raising capital to fund my business idea. To address this challenge, I am currently working on developing a detailed business plan that outlines my strategy and vision for the company, as well as the potential for profitability and growth.

Another challenge that I will have to overcome is competition. The business world is highly competitive, and there are many companies that offer similar products or services. To overcome this challenge, I am working on developing a unique selling proposition that sets my company apart from the competition. This includes identifying a gap in the market and developing innovative solutions that meet the needs of customers.

I believe that success in entrepreneurship is not just about making a profit, but also about creating a positive impact on society. I want to build a company that not only provides quality products and services to customers, but also contributes to the community in a meaningful way. This could include initiatives such as supporting local charities, reducing the company’s carbon footprint, or providing job opportunities to marginalized communities.

My aim in life is to become a successful entrepreneur by building a company that offers innovative solutions to real-world problems, while also creating a positive work environment and contributing to society in a meaningful way. While there are many challenges that I will have to overcome along the way, I am committed to working hard and pursuing my goals with determination and resilience.

The Aim in life is crucial as it guides us to our goals and helps us achieve them. To become successful, we need Aim; we need to work hard, have the right attitude to reach happiness and goals.

How can a person achieve Aim in life?

A person must be proactive, embrace failure, stay positive, be well-balanced, and keep track of their goals. The Individual must tell others with confidence, avoid negative surroundings, seek guidance from elders, and be open to criticisms and reset your goal if wrong.

Speeches > Franklin D. Richards > The Purpose of Life

The Purpose of Life

Franklin d. richards.

June 7, 1981

Despite the fact that we are living in a troublesome period, we are living in the dispensation of the fullness of times, a most wonderful period in the history of the world—yes, in a new era of growth and development. In my judgment, opportunities today, for young and old, exceed those of any other age. We should be truly grateful to live at this particular time when the Spirit of the Lord is being poured out upon the people of the earth so abundantly.

A universal question in the hearts and minds of men and women in all parts of the world is, What is the purpose of life?

The restored gospel of Jesus Christ answers the questions, Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where do we go after this life? With this knowledge, we are in a preferred position to accomplish worthwhile objectives through short-range and long-range goals.

I would like to discuss with you the purpose of life, how each of us is endowed with talents, and how, through proper work habits, being honest and patient, each can accomplish worthwhile objectives.

It is not unusual to hear a religious leader, a philosopher, or a poet refer to mortal beings as having a divine spark within them. Such characterizations imply that we possess great abilities and potentialities.

What does it mean to have a divine spark within you? Presumably it means that you have a certain relationship with God. From time to time, throughout the history of the world, God has made known to us what this relationship is.

The scriptures teach that God is a personal being in whose image we were created and that God the Father is the literal Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Father of the spirits of all of us. Because of this relationship, we inherit divine attributes. This thought was beautifully stated when Job of old explained that: “There is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding” (Job 32:8). Further, the apostle John testified that Jesus was “the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9). In this dispensation, President Joseph F. Smith bore witness to this same truth that the light of Christ, the Spirit of truth, lighteth everyone who is born into the world (see  Gospel Doctrine , p. 67–68).

This simple doctrine as taught by Christ gave way to human theories and dogmas throughout the hundreds of years of apostasy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaims to the world that the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness and simplicity has been restored through the instrumentality of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

We assert that God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to the Prophet Joseph Smith and that Christ’s church has been reestablished on the earth. Thus, through modern revelation, God’s relationship to his children has again been clarified. I ask you to seriously consider the fact that the life of your earthly body is your spirit, and that God the Eternal Father is the Father of your spirit.

With this relationship we are thus blessed with many talents and possess great potentialities. The Savior set our greatest goal for us when he said: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).

To become perfect requires growth and development, and as we contemplate perfection, we recognize that growth is the greatest phenomenon of this existence.

The Church teaches the value and possibility of eternal progression. We progressed in the preexistence, and we have the opportunity to progress in this estate and throughout all eternity.

During his earthly ministry, the Savior gave a beautiful parable dealing with the requirement that we develop the talents with which we are endowed.

The talent was an ancient weight and money unit. The dictionary defines  talent  as “the abilities, powers, and gifts bestowed upon a person; natural endowments, thought of as a divine trust; a natural capability or gift.”

The parable of the entrusted talents told of a man who was about to leave on a long trip, and who therefore called his servants together and gave them his goods. To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one. To each man he gave according to his ability.

While the master was away, the one who received five talents put them to use and made five more talents, the man who received two talents put them to use and made two more, but the one who received one talent hid it in the ground.

After a period of time, the master returned and asked for an accounting. Unto each of the servants who had doubled his talents the master said:

Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.  [Matthew 25:23]

The master called the servant who hid his talent and did not multiply it a slothful servant and said that he would take the one talent from him and give it to the servant who had ten talents.

From the man endowed with many talents, more was expected than from the men with lesser talents, yet all were expected to multiply such talents as they were given. Good use of what he was given by the man given one talent was just as important and necessary as by the men given two and five talents.

In this dispensation, the Lord has been equally direct in his charge to his children. He has told us that he has given us many things “for the benefit of the Church of the living God, that every man may improve upon his talent, that every man may gain other talents, yea, even an hundred fold (D&C 82:18). He has admonished us that “of him unto whom much is given much is required” (D&C 82:3).

And then he also said:

But with some I am not well pleased, for they will not open their mouths, but they hide the talent which I have given unto them, because of the fear of men. Wo unto such, for mine anger is kindled against them.

And it shall come to pass, if they are not more faithful unto me, it shall be taken away, even that which they have.  [D&C 60:2–3]

And then we are charged:

Thou shalt not idle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy talent that it may not be known.  [D&C 60:13]

These scriptures clearly emphasize our obligations to use and develop the gifts and talents we have been blessed with—let us say, to develop the spark of divinity that is within us. Human experience confirms the soundness of this doctrine.

How to Develop Talents

Each of us then should be concerned about  how  best to develop our gifts and our talents. First, we should recognize our talents and make up our minds to pay the price necessary to develop them. The price to be paid in developing talents includes, among other things, faith, work, study, persistence, and patience.

In developing faith, we must never overlook the fact that we are spirit children of God the Eternal Father, and that our Father in Heaven will assist us in developing our talents as we do our part. One way in which he will assist us is to open up opportunities for us to use our talents.

Fear—A Negative Influence

Some recognize their talents, but we are told they do not use them because of the fear of men. Fear destroys faith and deprives us of many blessings. This fact was clearly brought out in a revelation when the Lord said:

Ye endeavored to believe that ye should receive the blessing which was offered unto you; but behold, verily I say unto you there were fears in your hearts, and verily this is the reason that ye did not receive. [D&C 67:3]

We must, therefore, overcome fear. The Lord has told us that if we are prepared we shall not fear (see D&C 38:30).

Preparation involves study, and we are counseled to “seek learning, even by study and also by faith” (D&C 88:118). Eternal progress involves continual study. Increased learning gives us confidence, confidence engenders faith, and faith banishes fear.

The Lord has told us that “the glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth” (D&C 93:36), and that “it is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance” (D&C 131:6).

Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.

And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.  [D&C 130:18–19]

An American businessmen had this to say about his study of the Bible:

What most impresses me, as I look backward, is the immense application I have made of Bible truths in my daily life. From the lack of education, I relied on the Bible as my textbook, in every conceivable problem that arose. Only when I deviated from this teaching did I fail.

He who does not live daily in its guidance is foolish, for he is rejecting the greatest source of personal profit that exists in the world. The Bible is the greatest how-to-do-it book ever compiled, and it covers every fundamental that anyone really needs to know.

Let us be honest with ourselves and get into the habit of reading and studying the Bible and the other standard works of the Church as a guide to a rich and rewarding life.

Use Talents

We should also appreciate that talents are developed by use, and they will not grow and multiply unless they are used. This principle was clearly taught in the Savior’s parables. As we develop our talents, we should develop the spirit of sharing or giving, not only with those who are closest to us, but with all of God’s children. Remember the words of King Benjamin:

When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God.  [Mosiah 2:17]

One of the most important and distinguishing features of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that its affairs are administered by lay members of the Church rather than by a paid clergy. Talents may be developed in many areas of teaching, speaking, missionary work, music, drama, dancing, athletics of many kinds, Scout work, genealogical and temple work, welfare programs, compassionate service, and many other fields that might be mentioned—all contributing to the development of talents and leadership.

May I encourage you, therefore, to accept every opportunity presented to you to serve with enthusiasm, not as a burden, but as a great blessing. Organize your time by putting first things first, and perform each assignment well. As you do so, the divine spark within you will be magnified, and your talents will be increased.

Utah is known as the Beehive State. The early settlers, under the leadership of Brigham Young, named this area “Deseret,” meaning  honey bee . Therefore, the state motto is “Industry.” Each of us is entitled to immortality through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, but in order to enjoy eternal life, or exaltation in the celestial kingdom, we must  work  out our salvation day by day.

A wise man said: “Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come, but today is here.” This same impressive theme is woven into our beautiful hymn entitled “Today While the Sun Shines”:

Today, while the sun shines, work with a will;

Today all your duties with patience fulfill; . . .

Today, today, work while you may.

There is no tomorrow, but only today.

[Evans Stephens,  Hymns , no. 216]

When Adam was cast out of the Garden of Eden, he was told,

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground, for out of it wast thou taken.  [Genesis 3:19]

What a marvelous philosophy—the gospel of work, combined with the challenge to perform willingly today’s work  today!  President McKay said: “Let us . . . realize that the  privilege to work  is a gift, that the power  to work is a blessing, that the  love  to work is success.” ( CR , October 1909, p. 94). How true this is! Yet today, as in earlier times, many misguided individuals embrace the philosophy of idleness, feeling that the world owes them a living. Many have a desire to destroy the establishment that has been built upon productive effort.

In this dispensation, the Lord has many times confirmed the eternal principle of work. We have been told:

The idler shall not have place in the church, except he repent and mend his ways.  [D&C 75:29]

He that is idle shall not eat the bread or wear the garments of the laborer.  [D&C 42:42]

Ever since its organization, the Church has encouraged its members to establish and maintain their economic independence. It has encouraged thrift and fostered the establishment of employment-creating industries.

At the time the present welfare program of the Church was established, the First Presidency explained that the primary purpose was to

set up . . . a system under which the curse of idleness would be done away with, the evils of a dole abolished, and independence, industry, thrift, and self-respect be once more established amongst our people. The aim of the Church is to help the people help themselves. Work is to be re-enthroned as the ruling principle of the lives of our Church membership.  [Heber J. Grant, CR, October 1936, p. 3]

These are eternal principles and are as applicable to us today as they were when they were given. They do not mean that we do not recognize the need for change. Nothing is static! All things change! We accept the law of change; this is the law of progression.

The gospel of work brings change and progression. The Savior continually emphasized the doctrine of unselfishness and sacrifice, and it is apparent that there is no real success or happiness in being self-centered and selfish.

Let me suggest, therefore, the advisability of engaging in some work that involves service to our fellowmen and some sacrifice of our time, our talents, and our means. In this type of work one can easily develop a love of work as well as a love of people. Success in these areas almost always manifests itself in growth and change in the lives of all the persons involved.

Coupled with worthwhile objectives, we must learn to work compatibly with people. Some seem to be born with this talent, and others have to acquire it. Fortunately, this love of people and work can be developed.

Another essential factor to consider at this point is loyalty. Being loyal to an employer or to a cause for which one is working is a key step in developing a love of work and in achieving success. A great merchandiser once said: “We would rather have one man or woman working  with  us than three merely working  for  us.”

The desire for superior achievement comes from our Heavenly Father. However, too many people are imbued with the spirit of “just getting by.” This spirit comes from the evil one. Let us avoid the habit of “just getting by” as it will rob us of the choicest rewards. Whether our work is mainly mental or physical or a combination of both, we should learn to do it well.

In searching for ways to develop a love of work, we must not overlook the matter of relaxation. Although work is absolutely essential to achievement, relaxation and proper rest are likewise necessary. The power to pace oneself is an important factor in developing a love of work. The Lord expects each of us to work out a proper balance between work and relaxation, as well as the physical and spiritual aspects of life.

It will be to our eternal advantage to recognize that work is the secret of growth, progress, and happiness in both temporal and spiritual fields. Good work habits include such qualities as dependability, loyalty to employer, willingness to go the extra mile, and he ability to find happiness and purpose in your work.

I encourage you to set worthwhile and realistic objectives and to be satisfied only with superior achievement.

The philosophy of work, of going the extra mile, is a sound philosophy. It is a vital part of the gospel of Jesus Christ which will lead us to eternal life. Accept every opportunity to serve in building the kingdom of God, and I bear you my witness that as you do your part, the Lord will make you equal to every task that you are called upon to perform.

Difficulties

The story of most men and women who obtain a degree of greatness and achievement is generally the story of a person’s overcoming handicaps. It appears that there are some lessons in life that can be learned only through the overcoming of obstacles.

I am told that over the entrance to a great European university campus there is an inscription that reads:

Nothing worthwhile ever comes to a person except by the anguish of his soul, and the sweat of his brow.

Although it is not customary for one to seek out difficult or unpleasant experiences, it is true that the trials and tribulations of life which stand in the way of our growth and development become stepping stones by which we climb to great heights, providing, of course, that we do not permit them to destroy us.

Two of the most interesting and trying experiences of this dispensation were those of Zion’s Camp and Liberty Jail, both of which not only influenced the lives of great men but also greatly affected the history of the Church.

Zion’s Camp

When the members of the Church in Missouri were being persecuted, the Prophet Joseph Smith made their tribulation a matter of prayer and received a revelation on 24 February 1834. The Lord instructed the prophet to assemble at least 100 young men and middle-aged men and go to the land of Zion or Missouri (see D&C 103:19–20, 34).

Zion’s Camp, a group of approximately 150 men, gathered at Kirtland, Ohio, in the spring of 1834 and marched to western Missouri. By the time they reached Missouri, the camp had increased to approximately 200 men.

The purpose of the trek was to join the Saints in Missouri, to buy lands in Jackson County and surrounding counties, and to retrieve those lands taken by mobs who had dispossessed the Missouri Saints of considerable portions of their property.

When they reached Missouri, after extensive negotiations with Governor Dunklin failed to produce desired results, it was felt advisable to disband Zion’s Camp and await some future opportunity for the redemption of Zion.

Most of those who had formed Zion’s Camp returned to Kirtland which was, at that time, the center of ecclesiastical activity.

The “journey to Zion’s Camp” was regarded by many as an unprofitable and unsuccessful episode. A brother in Kirtland who did not go with the camp, meeting Brigham Young on his return, said to him: “Well, what did you gain on this useless journey to Missouri with Joseph Smith?”

“All we went for!” replied Brigham Young. “I would not exchange the experience I gained on the expedition for all the wealth in Geauga County.”

The journey covered more than 1,000 miles, and there were dissentions from within and hostile demonstrations from without. There were hardships and disappointments, but these experiences had real value because from this group many became the leaders in the exodus of 12,000 people from Missouri to Nauvoo, and then later many became leaders in the great western exodus from Nauvoo to the Salt Lake Valley.

In February 1835, the brethren who had accompanied the Prophet Joseph to Missouri as members of Zion’s Camp were called together, and from their numbers the Quorum of the Twelve and the Seventies were chosen. The Prophet explained that the trials and tribulations endured by the members of Zion’s Camp were not in vain, and it was the will of God

that those who went to Zion, with a determination to lay down their lives, if necessary, should be ordained to the ministry, and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time.  [ HC  2:182]

In the light of these events, it is evident that Zion’s Camp experiences were of immense value both to the individuals involved and to the Church.

Liberty Jail

One of the darkest periods in the history of the Church was the winter of 1838–39. The Saints had been persecuted, robbed, and murdered. The Prophet and his associates had been betrayed and were imprisoned in Liberty Jail. Dissention and apostasy were rampant, and the Church appeared to be faced with disintegration and ruin. But emerging from this dark period were the men who led the Church through trying experiences as well as amazing growth and development. But this was not all: It was during these dark days that the Lord revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith, while in Liberty Jail, a great revelation. Liberty Jail for a time became a center of instruction.

Elder B. H. Roberts, in the  Comprehensive History of the Church , had this to say:

The eyes of the saints were turned to it  [Liberty Jail]  as the place whence would come encouragement, counsel—the word of the Lord. It was more temple than prison, so long as the Prophet was there. It was a place of meditation and prayer. A temple, first of all, is a place of prayer; and prayer is communion with God. It is the “infinite in man seeking the infinite in God.” Where they find each other, there is holy sanctuary—a temple. Joseph Smith sought God in this rude prison, and found him. Out of the midst of his tribulations he called upon God in passionate earnestness.  [ HC,  1:526]

The answer came as God replied:

My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;

And then,  if thou endure it well , God shall exalt thee on high.  [D&C 121:7–8; emphasis added]

The Prophet Joseph Smith was told that if great tribulation should beset him and even if

the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou great than he?  [D&C 122:7–8]

We know that one of the important purposes of this life is to be proved, tried, and tested. Both the Zion’s Camp and Liberty Jail experiences truly constituted a refiner’s fire for those who participated in them, and both emphasize the necessity of experiencing difficult and complex situations in life in order to develop properly and to draw close to our Heavenly Father. These experiences certainly give us a better understanding and appreciation of the greatness of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the early leaders of the Church.

But what can we learn from the Zion’s Camp and Liberty Jail experiences that will be helpful to us? Certainly two impressive truths are apparent: First, it is important to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and loyalty to our leaders and to the Church; second, we must endure to the end, regardless of how many difficulties we have to surmount.

The apostle Paul, in writing to the Roman Saints, said:

We glory in tribulation . . . knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

And patience, experience, and experience, hope.  [Romans 5:3–4]

In 1828, the Lord, in a revelation to the Prophet Joseph Smith, said:

Do not run faster or labor more than you have strength.  [D&C 10:4]

By exercising patience, we will not be inclined to run faster or labor more than our strength justifies. In this regard, an adage which has been particularly helpful and inspirational to me is: “Survey large fields, but cultivate small ones.” Often, we want to cultivate large fields before we are properly prepared and equipped to do so. It is not unusual for one to develop the idea that the grass on the other side of the fence is greener. But in every aspect of life, we should realize that a “rolling stone gathers no moss.” Assuming that “moss” in this axiom means the better things of life, patience, or staying on the job, or magnifying one’s calling, will bring these better things to us. Then to develop patience, “don’t expect too much too soon.” Make the most of what you have.

And so our trials and tribulations, as we meet them with patience, give us valuable experience and prepare us for challenges that lie ahead. I encourage you to develop patience in your daily lives and to enjoy the satisfaction of accomplishment, free from many of the customary pressures and strains incident to modern living.

We should exert our best efforts to accomplish our righteous objectives, utilizing every legitimate means but not permitting ourselves to commit a wrong in our quest for the right. It is better to lose than to win an unjust or dishonest cause. Each of us is endowed with the right to choose good or evil, and we should recognize that we do not succeed, neither are we destroyed by other people or by conditions, but rather by our own decisions.

Purpose of Life

What, then is the purpose of life? To be proved, to grow, to develop in accordance with the principles of the gospel, and to prepare ourselves for the next estate. Each of us has the capacity to achieve worthwhile objectives, and we should never forget that we are actually spirit children of our Father in Heaven and that every person is given a gift by the Spirit of God (see D&C 46:11).

Organize your time by putting first things first, and perform each assignment well. By so doing, you will be magnified, and your talents will be increased as the Lord has said, “Yea, even an hundred fold” (D&C 82:18). The Lord has indicated that it is his  work  and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man (see Moses 1:39). What a great work! And we can help him by living in accordance with gospel principles.

I am grateful that my spirit has been reserved to come to earth in this, the dispensation of the fullness of times. I bear my witness that God lives; that Jesus is the Christ, our Redeemer and Savior; and that Joseph Smith was, and is, one of the greatest prophets of all time. The Holy Ghost has borne witness to me that the Lord through the Prophet Joseph Smith restored the gospel in its fullness, restored the power to act in the name of God, and reestablished his church on the earth. As a result, we have today a great prophet at the head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our beloved Spencer W. Kimball. I, like you, love and sustain our great prophet and leader.

Brigham Young once said:

You cannot find a compass on earth that points so directly, as the Gospel plan of salvation. It has a place for everything, and puts everything in its place.  [ JD  3:96]

How true this is! The gospel explains the purpose of life. Living the gospel principles brings peace, happiness, joy, contentment, growth, and development. I bear you this witness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Speech on My Ambition In Life

Everyone has a dream to chase. Your ambition gives you a purpose, a direction in life. It’s like a compass guiding you towards your true north.

But what is your ambition? What is that one goal you would love to achieve in your life? Think about it as we navigate through the idea of ambition.

1-minute Speech on My Ambition In Life

Good day everyone. I am excited to share my thoughts on ‘My Ambition In Life’.

Firstly, ambition drives us. It gives us a sense of direction. It is like a guiding star that never lets us lose our way. For me, my ambition is to become a doctor. It’s not just a career choice, but a life goal that I am passionate about.

Why do I want to be a doctor? I believe in helping others. It gives me pure joy. When I see people in pain, I feel a strong urge to lend a hand. I want to cure illnesses, ease suffering, and bring smiles on faces. I want to use my knowledge for the betterment of society and I see a doctor’s profession as the best way to do it.

Next, I strongly feel that becoming a doctor is not only about treating patients. It is about spreading awareness. It is about educating people on how to stay healthy, how to prevent diseases, and how to take care of their bodies. Just like a teacher shapes the future of students, a doctor shapes the health of a community.

Lastly, I know that the journey is not easy. It demands hard work, patience, and determination. But I am ready for it. My ambition fuels my spirit, it ignites my passion. I am confident that with constant effort and perseverance, I will fulfill my dream of being a doctor.

In conclusion, my ambition is not just about personal success. It is about making a difference in the world, one patient at a time. My ambition is my compass. It guides me towards my goal and gives my life a purpose. Thank you for listening to me today.

2-minute Speech on My Ambition In Life

Good day to all of you, my dear friends. Today, I want to share my thoughts on a topic that is very close to my heart, and that is ‘My Ambition in Life’. We all have dreams and goals. Having an ambition gives our life direction and purpose.

My ambition is to be a doctor. This is not just a career choice, but a life goal deeply rooted in my heart. As a child, I saw people suffer from illness, and I felt a strong desire to help them. This feeling stayed with me and grew into a dream that I want to turn into reality. I want to bring smiles to faces that are in pain. I want to be the light in their darkest hours.

To achieve this ambition, I understand the importance of hard work and dedication. I am ready to spend sleepless nights studying and working hard. I know I have to be patient and persistent. I have to learn a lot, and I am ready to do it. I am ready to make sacrifices in my life to fulfil this ambition.

There are challenges too. The path to becoming a doctor is not easy. It requires years of study, intense training, and a lot of mental strength. But I am not scared of these challenges. Rather, they motivate me to work even harder. I believe that the harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph.

The joy of helping others is a feeling that money can’t buy. The happiness that I see in the eyes of a patient when they get better is the biggest reward for me. It’s not about the money or fame. It’s about making a difference in people’s lives. It’s about being there for them when they need it the most.

In conclusion, my ambition in life is more than just a dream. It is a goal that I am determined to achieve. I want to be a doctor to help those in need and to bring happiness to their lives. I am ready to work hard, face challenges and make sacrifices to achieve this goal.

I believe that our ambitions tell a lot about who we are. It is our ambitions that give us a purpose in life and make our lives meaningful. I would like to encourage each of you to find your ambition in life and work hard to achieve it. Let’s not just dream, let’s make our dreams come true.

Thank you for listening to me. I hope that my words have inspired you to find your ambition in life and to work hard to achieve it. Remember, the sky is the limit and nothing is impossible if you are determined and hardworking.

Speech on Aim My Life

Speech on Aim of My Life | My Life Aim Speech for Students in English

Speech on Aim of My Life:  At a certain point in life, we all think what is the ain of my life? For without an aim, life is meaningless and caught up in a loop with no direction. My Life Aim Speech

Long Speech on Aim of My Life 500 Words

Hon’ble Principal, Admiring teachers and My fellow Friends – Greetings and a warm welcome to this annual Speech delivering competition.

I, Reuben Mathew of class 10, and I am standing before you all give me immense pleasure to have been assigned the topic Aim of my Life in today’s Speech Competition.

It is highly crucial to have an aim in life, as they keep us moving forward to achieve something. I hope all of you seated here agree with me. At times you may fail at the first attempt, but you shouldn’t lose your hearing. Fight all the odds, stand up against the obstacles, work hard and try to achieve your goal. Hard work will always help you achieve success in life.

Choosing the right and suitable career was never easy for me. I was just like every other person struggling to fixate on a particular aim. I would keep changing my dreams and ambitions now and then. Whenever I would come across any influential personality, I was quick to believe that I would become like that personality someday.

You too at some point would start seeing yourself at such a position, but any wrong step taken would lead you nowhere. It’s crucial to analyze yourself and think that what gives you happiness and that ultimate thought is what you desire to become in life.

Before choosing a dream, you need to see through the process. I want to share with all you here my experience through which I found my aim of life.

I always have dreamed of becoming a teacher since class fifth. My aunt is a teacher and has always been my role model. I have much admired her since always. As I grew up, I realized that aim is not like a Genie’s wish, but you need to put in a lot of effort and hard work.

It would help if you sacrificed a lot of things that other people might be pursuing during that time, even though you would have shown keen interest in doing those things. It would help if you always were determined and focus on your aim. You will get enough time to enjoy and have fun, but what comes first in line is the aim of your life.

The obstacles that I have faced in my life made me realize the important things, and that is literacy. Education plays a significant role and provides you with success, fame, and money. The reason I aim to become a teacher is that in this way, I will be able to serve my country. Unless Education has reached all corners of our country, growth and development can not be attained at peak.

I have also understood that A teacher’s life is full of challenges. I admire and revere all my teachers who have sacrificed their family life and have taken time to solve our issues and problems. A teacher needs to understand the student to explain his/her questions. A teacher remains impartial and considers every student as an equal.

Teachers are the building blocks of society, as they help in transforming a student’s life. It is essential to have passion and dedication to the teaching profession as it requires a lot of sacrifices and hard work. A big thank you and heartfelt gratitude to all my teachers. I have grown looking up to them. They have taught me and have directed me to the path towards a bright future.

I hope that one day my hard work pays off, and I will be able to achieve my aim as a Teacher. Thank you.

Short Speech on Aim of My Life 200 Words in English

Greetings to all present here. I thank one and all for giving me this fantastic opportunity to speak about my aim of life.

Everybody has a purpose or aim in life. A goal helps us achieve and fulfil our desire to become successful and worthy. It can be achieved with hard work. To begin with an aim, you need to set smaller goals to reach the bigger one. At times, we might face certain challenges, and during this time, one must never give up, but work hard to achieve success.

My life aims to become a reputed scientist. The man behind my aim is the great teacher and one of India’s leading Scientists Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. His contributions towards our space research, defence forces, and advanced missiles have much helped in the growth and development of our country.

Sir is one such Scientist who will always be remembered. With him as my inspiration, I want to contribute useful findings that will aid in the growth and development of our country and change the mindset of people.

To achieve my aim, I will have to journey a long way facing and overcoming all obstacles thrown at me in time. Firstly, I need to complete my schooling, then attend college with Biology as my mainstream. I want to contribute to the field of medicine and pharmacy to help find a cure. I want to aid in finding the cure to people suffering from diseases like AIDS, Leprosy, cancer, or any other illness.

In other words, I wish to bring about a change in this world and aid the growth and development of my society, my people, and my nation on the whole.

'My purpose in life is to tell stories'

5/17/2024 A&S Communications

Asha Prabhat

Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies, Government, College Scholar Marlboro, N.J.

Both activities informed one another and subsequently informed me— they taught me that my purpose in life is to tell stories, whether others or even my own.

FGSS classes informed my speeches for the speech team, informed my choice in internships (for example — I interned for the Center for Reproductive Rights after working on a post-Dobbs talk with the FGSS program) and informed my thesis for the College Scholar program, as I explored caste, gender and victim in rural India.

Speech on Life for Students in English

Life is a precious gift. It is the sum of one's work, journey, dreams, joys, sorrows, successes, and battles for change. Life is more of a journey than a destination. It must be lived peacefully and happily. Seeking the meaning and purpose of life is the biggest search in the life of a man, and the questions about the meaning of human life are age-old. Life, however, still has some attractive elements, offering one a ray of hope and positivity, each passing day.

We have individuals, families, relatives, and friends who make our lives unique, worth living, and make us feel that our lives are special. Our lives are challenging, but those challenges are what make it worth living.

Short One Minute Speech On Life Is A Gift

God has given us the most precious gift; it is life. It is up to us how to use it. It depends on us, or it depends on our behavior. Therefore, this is a very relevant topic to be discussed in schools, universities, workplaces or public places. We are of course worried that our young people are now wasting their lives and time-consuming reckless behavior. Every day, we should thank God for giving us this life and another day to achieve our goals. No one is like you and will never be there, so cherish your uniqueness.

What surprises me is that I often hear people blaming God for what they don’t have and cursing their liveliness, but they do not know that their lives are valuable if they work hard to make it worthwhile. The value of life comes from such thinking. Only through the love of family and friends can life become better. We also make our lives more beautiful and fulfilling by completing our responsibilities in our family, work, community and the whole world.

Long and Short English Speech About Life for Students and Children

Long speech on life in english for students.

Good morning to all of you present here. Today, I am here to share my views on Life. Life is a continuous phase that will have to stop someday. It is all about building yourself and encouraging yourself. It is only possible to grasp life backward, so it must be lived forward. Life itself is a golden chance to inspire others while you live and also get inspired by others too. It is not the number of years you live but how well you live that matters. Our lives are still threatened by the fear of death. Sooner or later, every person has to face death, but that doesn't mean it should stop us from living life to the fullest or achieving our goals. An individual is only wise when he/she is ready to meet destiny when it comes, but he/she enjoys every little bit before that moment. Human life is an incredibly precious gift.

Every snapshot of human life provides us with an opportunity to act to build and connect. Every second opens the way for us to receive presents. The truth is that life presents us with both positive and negative situations. What is extremely important is the way we respond to it. No one, like you, is born into the universe, and no one will ever be, so honor your freedom. With lessons, struggles, heartache, and special moments, life is nothing but a journey. In the end, it will get us to our destination, our meaning in life. The road isn't always going to be a plane; in fact, we're going to face many challenges along our journeys.

Our bravery, talents, vulnerabilities, and confidence will always be checked by these challenges. We may meet obstacles along our way that will come between the paths, and we are doomed to take them. We must overcome these barriers to be on the right path. Perhaps these barriers are simply gifts in disguise, but at the moment we don't understand that. The secret of life is better understood by those who are not so intensely attached to something. The best way to cherish life is with our family and friends. Our family was the first set of people who were present since the beginning of our journey and nourished us.

Our friends are the people who chose us, out of several others, to care for and enjoy moments with. It is ultimately the affection we give and the affection we receive from our loved ones that makes life beautiful and joyous. I'll say, eventually, that we can make life worthwhile. That life can be made beautiful with the help of our family and friends. By discharging our duties in our families, at work, community and the world at large, life can be more beautiful and purposeful.

Short Speech About Life for Children

Good morning to all of you present here. Today I am here to deliver a Speech on Life. Life is valuable. It is a gift to you from God. It's so special that there's no one else like you on Earth.   Existence, again, is a chance. It is a chance for good to be achieved. Therefore, it does not matter how long you live; how well you live is all that counts. And how many lives you, with love and encouragement, will affect.

Another idea is that death still shadows life. Everybody has to face it. He or she is a wise man or woman who, when it comes, is prepared to meet death. The secret of life is, surprisingly, best revealed to those who are not bound by their possessions. They are unaffected by worry and life's changing fortunes. They are individuals who do not live by adding things to life, but by weighing their lives by things they can do without.

Life is stewardship above all. It is a belief that is entrusted to you. Such an understanding of life makes you keenly aware that for all the time, talent, treasure, and opportunity you are blessed with. It is this hope which makes living life worth it. And it's family and friendships nurtured in loving relationships that make life beautiful. By understanding one's role in one's family, or one's place of work, or society at large; and playing that role well, life is also made purposeful.

Life is a journey, not a destination

Life is not a destination, but it is a journey that involves lessons, hardships, and some special moments. It will take us to our final destination, our life's purpose. The road will not always be a plane; we will face numerous challenges throughout our journey.

These difficulties will always put our bravery, strengths, flaws, and faith to the test. Along the way, we may come across obstacles that stand in the way of the path we are meant to follow.

We must overcome these challenges to stay on the right path. Sometimes these roadblocks are blessings in disguise, but we do not realize it at the time. The secret of life is best understood by people who are not extremely connected to anything.

As a result, people are clueless about their worries and changing fortunes in life. They are those who do not measure their lives in terms of materialistic stuff, but rather in terms of the people they cannot live without.

Here's a breakdown of what happened:

Who is Harrison Butker?

Butker is the 28-year-old kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 2017 seventh-round pick out of Georgia Tech has become one of the NFL’s best kickers, breaking the Chiefs’ franchise record with a 62-yard field goal in 2022. Butker helped them win their first Super Bowl in 50 years in 2020, added a second Lombardi Trophy in 2023, and he kicked the field goal that forced overtime in a Super Bowl win over San Francisco in February.

He is also a conservative Catholic and has shared some of his religious beliefs on social media in the past.

What did harrison butker say.

Butker appeared as the commencement speaker last week at  Benedictine College , a private Catholic liberal arts school in Kansas, and said most of the women receiving degrees were probably more excited about getting married and having children.

Feeling out of the loop? We'll catch you up on the Chicago news you need to know. Sign up for the weekly Chicago Catch-Up newsletter here.

Butker also said some Catholic leaders were “pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America" and assailed  Pride month , a particularly important time for the LGBTQ+ rights movement, and President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion.

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you,” Butker said.

“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say that her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother,” he said.

Butker said that his wife embraced “one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker.“

He referred to a “deadly sin sort of pride that has a month dedicated to it” in an oblique reference to Pride Month and took aim at Biden's policies, including his condemnation of the  Supreme Court's reversal  of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and advocacy for freedom of choice — a key campaign issue in the 2024 presidential race.

Butker also tackled Biden's response to COVID-19, which has killed nearly 1.2 million people in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“While COVID might have played a large role throughout your formative years, it is not unique,” he said. “Bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as growing support for degenerate cultural values and media all stem from pervasiveness of disorder.”

At one point Butker used a quote from Taylor Swift, who is dating his teammate Travis Kelce.

"As my teammate's girlfriend says, 'familiarity breeds contempt,' " Butker said.

The line is part of Swift's song "Bejeweled ."

What was the response from graduates?

Video of the commencement shows virtually all the graduates and spectators rising to a standing ovation, but student interviews showed a more mixed reaction.

ValerieAnne Volpe, 20, who graduated with an art degree, lauded Butker for saying things that “people are scared to say.”

“You can just hear that he loves his wife. You can hear that he loves his family,” she said.

Elle Wilbers, 22, who is heading to medical school, said she was shocked by Butker’s criticism of priests and bishops and his reference to the LGBTQ+ community, one that she described as “horrible.”

“We should have compassion for the people who have been told all their life that the person they love is like, it’s not OK to love that person,” Wilbers said.

Kassidy Neuner, 22, who will spend a gap year teaching before going to law school, said being a stay-at-home parent is “a wonderful decision.”

“And it’s also not for everybody,” Neuner added, saying, "I think that he should have addressed more that it’s not always an option. And, if it is your option in life, that’s amazing for you. But there’s also the option to be a mother and a career woman.”

The Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica, one of the founding sponsors of Benedictine College, issued a statement Thursday criticizing Butker’s speech, contending it did not properly represent the college's values.

“Instead of promoting unity in our church, our nation, and the world, his comments seem to have fostered division,” the statement said.

“One of our concerns was the assertion that being a homemaker is the highest calling for a woman,” it added. “We sisters have dedicated our lives to God and God’s people, including the many women whom we have taught. ... These women have made a tremendous difference in the world in their roles as wives and mothers and through their God-given gifts in leadership, scholarship, and their careers.”

What about the NFL?

The NFL is distancing itself from Butker .

"Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Jonathan Beane, NFL senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, said in a statement released Thursday. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

The Chiefs declined to comment on Butker's commencement address.

But the wife of Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, Tavia Hunt, wrote a lengthy Instagram post addressing some of Butker's remarks.

"I’ve always encouraged my daughters to be highly educated and chase their dreams. I want them to know that they can do whatever they want (that honors God). But I also want them to know that I believe finding a spouse who loves and honors you as or before himself and raising a family together is one of the greatest blessings this world has to offer. Studies show that committed, married couples with children are the happiest demographic, and this has been my experience as well," she wrote. "*Affirming motherhood and praising your wife, as well as highlighting the sacrifice and dedication it takes to be a mother, is not bigoted. It is empowering to acknowledge that a woman’s hard work in raising children is not in vain.* Countless highly educated women devote their lives to nurturing and guiding their children. Someone disagreeing with you doesn’t make them hateful; it simply means they have a different opinion. Let’s celebrate families, motherhood and fatherhood. Our society desperately needs dedicated men and women to raise up and train the next generation in the way they should go."

She also added, "I also caution against taking things out of context. Sound bites overlaid with hateful comments are not what we want to model for our children or others. We need more dialogue (and VALUES, IMO) in this country and less hate."

Meanwhile, the Chargers took aim at Butker in their viral schedule release video.

During the end credits, the video showed Butker cooking and cleaning.

What is Benedictine College?

The fast-growing college is part of a constellation of conservative Catholic colleges that tout their adherence to church teachings and practice — part of a larger  conservative movement  in parts of the U.S. Catholic Church.

The college is located in in Atchison, Kansas, about 60 miles north of Kansas City, and traces its roots to 1858. It has an enrollment of about 2,200.

Its “mission as a Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts, residential college is the education of men and women within a community of faith and scholarship,” according to its website.

But its also home to more traditional expressions of Catholicism, such as the Latin Mass, all-night prayer vigils and a strict code of conduct. Its mission statement further cites its commitment to "those specific matters of faith of the Roman Catholic tradition, as revealed in the person of Jesus Christ and handed down in the teachings of the Church.”

The school gets a high ranking from the Cardinal Newman Society, a group that touts nearly two-dozen conservative colleges that exhibit what it calls “faithful Catholic education." That includes upholding church teachings and Catholic identity while providing ample Masses and other devotional activities in shaping their students.

The society seeks to differentiate schools that “refuse to compromise their Catholic mission” from those that have become “battlegrounds for today’s culture wars.” Others praised by the society include Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Ave Maria University in Florida and Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.

The society's ranking says Benedictine benefits from having monks in residence, multiple Masses and prayer groups, spiritually focused organizations and theology programs with professors with a “mandatum" of approval from the local bishop.

Benedictine's enrollment has doubled in the past 20 years. Some 85% of its students are Catholic, according to the Cardinal Newman Society.

Annual tuition for full-time undergraduates is $35,350, but Benedictine says 100% of its students receive some form of financial aid.

Benedictine’s sports teams, called the Ravens, compete in National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Its athletics department says it is committed to ”setting the highest standards for academic success, athletic competition, ethical behavior, fiscal responsibility, and spiritual development.”

What has the response been elsewhere?

The TODAY show's Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager slammed the speech with a fiery response.

"Well, I'm where I am today because I have a husband who leans into  his  vocation, which is being an equal partner. And I tell him that all the time," Hager said.

"Don't speak for us," Kotb added. "Stop speaking for women out there."

Hager noted that those who stay home with families are "amazing," but said "let's not compare one to the other."

"There are lots of women who actually would like to stay at home, but because they need to earn money, they don't even have that privilege to do it," Kotb added.

NBC News Correspondent Maria Shriver also weighed in, saying "We all have the right to voice our opinions, but let us strive to do so with dignity and respect."

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Maria Shriver (@mariashriver)

A Change.org petition demanding the Chiefs dismiss Butker from the team has garnered more than 180,000 signatures.

Meanwhile, as of Friday, Butker's jersey was listed among the top sellers on the NFL shop's website and was named the most popular jersey for Kansas city Chiefs players, besting even popular stars like Patricks Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Commenters have taken to Butker's social media accounts to share their reactions, with responses ranging from both support to criticism.

"As a woman who graduated valedictorian from high school, finished my four year degree in three years (double majored) and tacked on a Master’s during the fourth year, who now owns a business (a school, nonetheless) and is absolutely the epitome of a confident woman…..THANK YOU for your words," one commenter wrote. "My greatest joy in life is found in my family. My husband and my children are the most profound gift and the most beautiful responsibility I have ever been given. Serving the people I love in our home is a joy. I’m not chained there; I choose there because I CHOOSE them. There is no greater purpose. And AS a woman, I will never allow anyone to insinuate that somehow devalues me as a female."

"I am the breadwinner for my family of six. I Iove my job. Harrison, please tell me where I went wrong so I can repent and start cooking and cleaning," another user said.

"I feel bad for those poor women who looked forward to their graduation and had you inflicted on them. You misunderstood the assignment of a graduation speech. It’s not your own personal platform to do a manifesto," one commenter wrote.

The best change in ‘diablo 4’ season 4 is a quality-of-life godsend.

Diablo 4 has brought sweeping changes to the game in season 4 , including big alterations to loot like Tempering and Masterworking, in addition to a total revamp of Helltides to make them the most enemy-dense activities in the game.

But there is one change in particular that is by far, the best thing Diablo 4 has added in season 4, one that makes my vault cry for joy now that it’s able to breathe. I’m talking about the new Aspect codex system.

Previously, the codex only contained a certain number of base level Aspects that you could apply in an emergency. Now, every Aspect is in there, and you can now save your best Aspect roll you’ve found for application to all future gear going forward.

What this means is that if you hit World Tier 4 and find a weapon with a maxed out Aspect stat you want, but the rest of the weapon isn’t going to work for you, you can dismantle it and it will save that max level stat for the Aspect. Then, you can apply that to a different weapon going forward.

aim of my life speech

The Best Gaming Mouse That’ll Improve Your Aim

I cannot tell you not just what a great “chase” this is, but what it does for quality of life for looting. Previously, my vault was probably 95% full of legendaries that had Aspects I was saving for some future drop, or some future build I wasn’t doing yet (if I wanted to switch between fire and ice sorc, range or melee rogue, etc). This meant you had to fill pages and pages with Aspect-having gear that you weren’t going to otherwise use, multiple copies sometimes as you knew you’d probably rotate through equipped gear and would need to once again, reapply the same Aspect you just left behind.

Now? My vault is almost all just Uniques and…materials? That’s really it. There’s just no reason to save legendary gear for Aspects alone, just if it’s an alternate great stat/affix drop you might want to swap into later. Again, this has cleared almost all of my old vault clutter and the Codex system is miles better than what we had previously. It very much reminds me of an almost identical system in The Division where you could store similar gear modifications. I am really glad to see that “stolen” here.

It's a good season, if you can get past the non-existent story and the very dull early leveling process. The changes to loot and quality of life are excellent, and this really was the shot in the arm the game needed. I’m re-addicted to it for sure right now.

In commencement speech, Chiefs kicker targets ‘diabolical lies’ told to women

Harrison Butker tells Benedictine College men to “fight against the cultural emasculation of men” while also criticizing Pride Month and President Biden.

aim of my life speech

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, one of the top specialists in the NFL, branched out from football over the weekend, taking aim at “diabolical lies told to women” and “dangerous gender ideologies” as well as gay pride and President Biden ’s stance on abortion in a commencement address at Benedictine College in Kansas.

The former industrial engineering student at Georgia Tech said he is leaning into his “vocation as a husband and a father and as a man” and went on to tell graduates of the Catholic liberal arts school that “… part of what plagues our society is this lie that has been told to you that men are not necessary in the home or our communities. As men, we set the tone of the culture, and when that is absent, disorder, dysfunction and chaos set in. This absence of men in the home is what plays a large role in the violence we see all around the nation.”

The 28-year-old described himself as “an introvert” who is now “an amateur public speaker and an entrepreneur.” He urged male graduates of the Atchison, Kan., college to “be unapologetic in your masculinity, fighting against the cultural emasculation of men. Do hard things. Never settle for what is easy.”

Butker, whose team attracted the attention of increasing numbers of women and girls during a 2023 season in which Taylor Swift frequently attended games to cheer on tight end Travis Kelce, also had a message for female graduates.

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you,” he said. “… Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world. But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.

“I’m on this stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation. I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me. But it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.”

Butker spoke of what he said were the dangers presented by the “church of nice” when it comes to issues such as diversity, equity and inclusion . He also criticized “dangerous gender ideologies,” citing a recent Associated Press article on “an immense shift” in the Catholic Church in the United States, with many who had “embraced the modernizing tide sparked in the 1960s” giving way “to religious conservatives who believe the church has been twisted by change.”

Butker said the AP intended the story to create anger and, instead, Catholics took pride in it — “Not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him.” He also brought up diversity, equity and inclusion , arguing “the world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion. We fear speaking truth, because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority.”

He called out “bad leaders who don’t stay in their lanes” and criticized the nation’s response to the pandemic.

“While covid might have played a large role throughout your formative years, it is not unique,” Butker told the graduates. “The bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for the degenerate cultural values and media all stem from pervasiveness of disorder.”

He criticized President Biden, the nation’s second Catholic president, for being pro-choice, “delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally” and for supporting LGBTQ protections.

“He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears you can be both Catholic and pro-choice,” Butker said.

Butker has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Chiefs, winning three Super Bowls as the franchise became one of the most prominent in the league. He connected on better than 94 percent of his field goal attempts last season, one of the top rates among qualified kickers, and made all 11 field goals he attempted during the playoffs.

A previous version of this article incorrectly said Taylor Swift frequently attended Chiefs games in 2003. She attended games in 2023. The article has been corrected.

Sport Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker uses commencement speech to deride LGBTQ+ and question women's place in the workforce

Harrison Butker

The commencement speaker at Kansas' Benedictine College, a private Catholic liberal arts school, congratulated the women receiving degrees — and said most of them were probably more excited about getting married and having children.

Harrison Butker, the kicker for the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, is getting attention for those and other comments last weekend in which he said some Catholic leaders were "pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America".

Butker, who's made his conservative Catholic beliefs well known, also assailed Pride month, a particularly important time for the LGBTQ+ rights movement, and President Joe Biden's stance on abortion.

"I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you," Butker said.

"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.

"I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say that her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother."

Butker said that his wife embraced "one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker".

He also criticised as disparaging to the Catholic Church an article by The Associated Press highlighting a shift toward conservativism in some parts of the church.

The three-time Super Bowl champion delivered his roughly 20-minute address on Saturday at the Catholic school in Atchison, Kansas, which is located about 97 kilometres north of Kansas City.

He received a standing ovation from graduates and other attendees.

Butker, 28, referred to a "deadly sin sort of pride that has a month dedicated to it" in an oblique reference to Pride month.

He also took aim at Biden's policies, including his condemnation of the Supreme Court's reversal of the 1973 Roe vs Wade decision and advocacy for freedom of choice — a key campaign issue in the 2024 presidential race.

Butker and Kelce

Biden, who is Catholic, has a fraught history on the issue. He initially opposed the Roe vs Wade decision, saying it went too far. He also opposed federal funding for abortions and supported restrictions on abortions later in pregnancy.

"Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally," Butker said.

"He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies, that I'm sure to many people, it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice."

Butker also tackled Biden's response to COVID-19, which has killed nearly 1.2 million people in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"While COVID might have played a large role throughout your formative years, it is not unique," he said.

"Bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for degenerate cultural values and media all stem from pervasiveness of disorder."

Butker also criticised the "tyranny of diversity, equity, and inclusion".

Harrison Butker

Graduates had mixed views on the speech.

ValerieAnne Volpe, 20, who graduated with an art degree, lauded Butker for saying things that "people are scared to say".

"You can just hear that he loves his wife. You can hear that he loves his family," she said.

Elle Wilbers, 22, who is heading to medical school, said she was shocked by Butker's criticism of priests and bishops and his reference to the LGBTQ+ community, one that she described as "horrible".

"We should have compassion for the people who have been told all their life that the person they love is like, it's not OK to love that person," Wilbers said.

Kassidy Neuner, 22, who will spend a gap year teaching before going to law school, said being a stay-at-home parent is "a wonderful decision".

"And it's also not for everybody," Neuner said.

"I think that he should have addressed more that it's not always an option. And, if it is your option in life, that's amazing for you. But there's also the option to be a mother and a career woman."

The Chiefs declined to comment on Butker's commencement address.

The 2017 seventh-round pick out of Georgia Tech has become of the NFL's best kickers, breaking the Chiefs' franchise record with a 62-yard field goal in 2022.

Butker helped them win their first Super Bowl in 50 years in 2020, added a second Lombardi Trophy in 2023, and he kicked the field goal that forced overtime in a Super Bowl win over San Francisco in February .

It has been an embarrassing off-season for the Chiefs, though.

Last month, voters in Jackson County, Missouri, soundly rejected a ballot initiative that would have helped pay for an $800 million renovation to Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Chiefs. Many voters criticised the plan put forward by the Chiefs as catering primarily to VIPs and the wealthy.

The same week, wide receiver Rashee Rice turned himself in to Dallas police on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, after he was involved in a high-speed crash that left four people with injuries.

Rice has acknowledged being the driver of one of the sports cars that was going in excess of 160kph.

Last week, law enforcement officials told The Dallas Morning News that Rice also was suspected of assaulting a person at a downtown nightclub. Dallas police did not name Rice as the suspect in detailing a report to The Associated Press.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he had spoken to the receiver and the team was letting the legal process play out.
