This paper presents an overview of all scientific contributions using agent-based modeling (ABM) methodology in routine dynamics research. That is a specialized area of study and our extensive literature search revealed only a total of 12 contributions. We did a quantitative analysis of these published literature using co-authorship, cross-citation and bibliographic coupling methods. We then complemented the overview with a content analysis of substantial focus of these literatures. We summarized their findings and showed how ABM is applied in routine dynamics research. By elaborating on what has been done, we provide an overview of this newly emerging research field and present possible directions for future work. Even though there are only a few publications in this research field, we expect that dialogue between ABM modelers and routine scholars would be beneficial to promote the development in this area. It would be conducive to advancing the understanding of complex internal structure, processes and dynamics of organizational routines.

More detailed information about B. T. Pentland and his colleagues’ research on agent-based modeling of organizational routines can be found at: http://routines.broad.msu.edu/ (last accessed on May 30, 2020).

It is worth noting that the model by Pentland, et al. ( 2012 ) is not strictly an agent-based model—as Kahl and Meyer ( 2016 ) pointed out that ‘one cannot speak of heterogeneous agents in this model as actions represent its basic entities’ (Kahl and Meyer, 2016 , p. 92). Nevertheless, it was included in our analysis because it concerns ‘actions’ in organizational routines and simulates the formation of routines with a ‘bottom-up’ approach.

Course Objective: This course aims at exposing students of accounting to the theory and practice of management, which has already attained the status of a profession and has been recognized as the fifth factor of production. Teaching method: The traditional one way lecture deliberation method of teaching will be discouraged. Prior study of reading assignments will be a must. Students in a group should distribute discussion topics and reading materials among them to present those in the class. Discussion reasonable arguments and counter arguments will be encouraged. The teacher will play a supervisory role. English will be the medium of communication in the class.

Accounting education on the management faculties, is today focused on delivering the knowledgebased content, which should be brought into harmony with management knowledge needs. Educators have the important task of finding the best education methods for transferring new accounting knowledge over to students, and developing their professional skills, connected with new demands of 21st century accounting paradigm. The mission of implementing new methods in accounting education and examination process is to maximize the contribution of accounting academic’s teachers to prepare students for their future profession, stress on using accounting information. Students should not be trained to become experts in preparing, but have to be able using accounting information, and understand financial statements and operating segments reporting system, based on international and hospitality accounting standards. Therefore, instructional strategies will be focused on understanding the main problem ...

This research aimed to conduct a formative assessment in the implementation of Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Strand in the Division of Science City of Muñoz for years 2016 and 2017. The study assessed three main areas or variables, namely: instructional input, conduct of instruction and outcomes of instruction. The study revealed a tremendous increase of over one and one-half times its number compared to the previous year (2016) enrolment in ABM Strand which also accounted to learners’ own preference and decision to enrol along this track was documented. It was also observed that the most basic instructional inputs such as classrooms, television, LCD projector, computer, and printer were deficient. Textbooks still served as the daily instructional material followed by hand outs and modules. It further revealed that teaching methodologies and strategies employed by the ABM teachers were varied as to the extent of use. Results further revealed that much of the instructional time was devoted to lecture method. The teacher-student and student to student interactions were not evidently seen in the study. In terms of assessment, Paper and Pen test was used as mode of assessment in order to measure and evaluate the learners’ learning outcomes. On the contrary, in terms of output of instruction, learners still obtained outstanding and very satisfactory grades. Given the qualifications and vertical specialization of teachers and the limitations cited, student-learners managed to acquire quality education.

This study aims to investigate the feasibility of a learning system that is applied for the Accounting for Cooperative and Small, Medium Enterprises subjects in Jenderal Soedirman University, Department of Accounting. Enactment of Accounting for Cooperative and Small, Medium Enterprises subjects as compulsory subjects encourage lecturer to arrange interesting learning system and can measure the ability of students appropriately. The measurement of ability of students to absorb the subjects material is done through the provision of a quiz, structured tasks combined with the presentation of material, preparation of papers as midterms and workmanship essay questions as the final exam of the semester. Values obtained during the learning process are combined then converted to the value of the final determinant of graduation. The final results using IBM SPSS 22 software shown that the applied learning system can be regarded as a good model.

This research examines the effect of online lectures on student interest in learning. This research uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach, a theory that explains the perceptions of technology users, which consists of two constructs: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The population in this study were students majoring in accounting at the Kudus Regency College. Sampling using purposive sampling method and the number of samples of 98 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using the PLS (partial least square) analysis technique through the smartPLS software. The study results found that online lectures had a positive and significant effect on the learning interest of accounting students in the Kudus Regency. This can be seen from the results of testing how perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a positive and significant value on student interest in learning

The study attempted to find out the success indicators in Accounting 1 of students in the College of Management and Information Technology (CMIT), Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) with the end view of proposing an enrichment program in Accounting 1. It utilized the descriptive-correlational method with a set of research instrument for students and teachers distributed to the respective respondents. Several factors were discussed in this study, namely: age, sex, parents‘ monthly income, IQ, average grade in Mathematics, average grade in English, home environment, self-esteem, attitude towards Accounting, or teachers‘ teaching competence, such as: instructional skills, communication skills, management skills, guidance skills, evaluation skills, and socio-personal skills. The data were analyzed using frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, pearson r, and stepwise multiple regression analysis to determine the best success indicators in Accounting 1.
