How to write essay – निबंध कसा लिहावा.

कुठल्याही स्तरावर भाषा शिकताना, प्रश्नपत्रिका सोडवताना कमी-अधिक लांबीचा निबंध लिहिणे अनिवार्य असते. एखादा विषय कितपत समजला आहे. स्वतःच्या भाषेत त्यावर मुद्देसूद विचार मांडता येत आहेत का, गोंधळून न जाता विषयानुरूप विचार, मते, प्रसंग, भावना यांचे वर्गीकरण करून ते क्रमवार, सुसूत्रपणे उलगडता येत आहेत ना; हेच निबंधातून पाहिले जाते.

स्पर्धा परीक्षांसाठी निबंध लिहिताना अर्थातच निबंध लेखनाची काठिण्यपातळी वाढत जाते; वाढत जायला हवी. शिक्षणामुळे अनुभवाकडे पाहण्याची आपली दृष्टी प्रगल्भ बनत असते, जाणिवा समृद्ध होत असतात, वृत्ती डोळस बनत असतात.विचारांनाही नवी झळाळी मिळत असते. त्यामुळे या सगळ्याचे प्रतिबिंब आपल्या निबंधातूनही उमटायला हवे.

त्यामुळेच एकाच विषयावरचा शालेय पातळीवरचा निबंध आणि स्पर्धा परीक्षांमधला निबंध यात जमीन-अस्मानाचा फरक हवा. शिवाय, स्पर्धा परीक्षांमधून उत्तीर्ण होऊन पुढे तुम्हाला प्रशासकीय सेवेत रूजू व्हायचे असते. अशावेळी परिस्थितीचे नेमके आकलन, समस्येचे गांभीर्य, त्याबद्दलची मतमतांतरे, उपाययोजना, त्यावरचे स्वतःचे स्पष्ट मत, याविषयीचे चौफेर भान असायला हवे असते. निबंध लेखनातून टप्प्याटप्प्याने, तर्कसंगत मांडणीतून एखाद्या निर्णयापर्यंत का आणि कसे जायचे याचेही भान तुम्हाला यानिमित्ताने यावे, ही अपेक्षा असते.

निबंधलेखनामध्ये आत्माविष्काराला मोठा वाव असतो. विचारांतील तर्कशुद्धता, शब्दांवरची हुकमत, कमी वेळात सुव्यवस्थितपणे मांडलेले विचार, वाचन, बहुश्रुतता अशा अनेक पैलूंचे दर्शन घडविण्याची संधी निबंधातून मिळते.जणू आपले व्यक्तिमत्त्वच निबंधातून प्रकट होते. विचार सुचण्यासाठी अनुभव उत्कटपणे घेण्याची आवश्यकता असते. तीच गोष्ट सूक्ष्म निरीक्षणाची. आपल्या पंचेंद्रियांचा उपयोग जागरूकपणे करायला हवा.

काही अनुभव आपण प्रत्यक्ष घेतो, तर काही वाचनातून मिळवता येतील. विविध प्रकारच्या वाचनातून आपल्याला विचारांचा, कल्पनांचा खजिनाच हाती लागतो. त्याचा निबंधलेखनासाठी कसा उपयोग करता येईल, याचा थोडा विचार करूया.

कोणत्याही प्रकारच्या निबंधाचे मुख्यतः दोन भाग पडतात.

1) पहिला भाग म्हणजे त्या निबंधाचे मुद्दे किंवा त्याचा आशय

2) दुसरा भाग म्हणजे त्या आशयाची मांडणी म्हणजेच निबंधशैली.

निबंधाचा आशय आणि शैली या दोन्ही दृष्टीने जो निबंध उंची गाठू शकतो, तो उत्तम ठरतो. मुद्दे चांगले आहेत; पण मांडणी ढिसाळ, अनाकर्षक असेल, तर निबंध सकस पण बेचव, कंटाळवाणा होईल आणि नुसताच भाषेने, अलंकारांनी सजवलेला पण ठोस आशय नसलेला निबंध खमंग, पण निःसत्त्व ठरेल.

जेव्हा आपण निबंधाचा विषय वाचतो. तेव्हा त्या विषयाशी संबंधित अनेक विचार, कल्पना, अनुभव, आठवणी,प्रसंग आपल्या मनात गोळा होतात. या सगळ्यातून निबंधासाठी कोणते मुद्दे महत्त्वाचे आहेत व कोणते गाळले तरी चालतील, हे निबंधाची शब्दमर्यादा लक्षात घेऊन ठरवायला हवे; कारण निबंधासाठी असलेली शब्दमर्यादा पाळणे या आवश्यक असते.

त्यामुळे कोणत्या मुद्दयाचा सविस्तर विचार करायचा व कोणते थोडक्यात मांडायचे, ही दोन्ही आत्मसात करायला हवीत. अर्थात, त्यासाठी सराव महत्वाचा. निबंध लिहिताना निवडलेल्या मुक्ष्यांचा क्रम डोळ्यांपुढे आणून एकातून एक विचार, कल्पना उलगडत जातील, या पद्धतीने या मुद्यांची संगती लावायला हवी निबंध वाचताना त्यातील सलगता जाणवायला हवी.

निबंधाचा दुसरा भाग म्हणजे निबंधाची मांडणी, शैली! आपले विचार, भावना, समर्पक व मोजक्या शब्दांत व्यक्त करता यायला हव्यात .

शब्दरचना व वाक्यरचना जमण्यासाठी विशेषणे, क्रियाविशेषणे, वाक्प्रचार, म्हणी, सुभाषिते, सुविचार यांचे भांडार आपल्याजवळ भरलेले हवे. अवांतर वाचन केलेले असले की, आपल्याबीनिबंधातील आशय ची समृद्धी तर वाढतेच; पण वेगवेगळे लेखक कसे शब्द वापरतात, कशी मांडणी करतात, याच्या परिचयातून आपली स्वतःची शैली विकसित होत जाते.

आवश्यक असे शब्द सहजपणे कागदावर उमटू लागतात. यासाठी वाचनाची साधना हवीच! अवांतर वाचनामध्येही सातत्य व विविधता असायला हवी. दैनंदिन वृत्तपत्रांमधील बातम्यांबरोबरच माहितीपूर्ण, वैचारिक लेख, पुस्तकांमधील चरित्रे, प्रवासवर्णन, ललित निबंध, इतिहास, वैचारिक साहित्य असे विविध प्रकारचे साहित्य वाचायला हवे.

समस्याप्रधान निबंध लिहायचे असतील तर, आपल्या देशाच्या, समाजाच्या स्थितीचा अभ्यास वृत्तपत्र वाचनातून व्हायला हवा. त्याचबरोबर जे वाचले त्याची नोंद करून ठेवायला हवी. निबंधाच्या विषयाशी संबंधित नुकत्याच घडलेल्या घटनांचे संदर्भ देता यायला हवेत. आपले विचार, आपल्याला सुचलेल्या कल्पना टिपून ठेवायला हव्यात.

वाचलेली सुभाषिते, काव्यपंक्ती यांचा वापर योग्य प्रमाणात करायला हवा. अन्यथा विषयाला कृत्रिमता येते. विषयाच्या संदर्भात सर्वसामान्य विचारांबरोबरच आपला खास वेगळा ठसा उमटवणारा मजकूर त्यात आला, तर असा निबंध खूप परिणामकारक ठरू शकतो.

निबंधाच्या मांडणीशी संबंधित अजून एक महत्त्वाचा मुद्दा म्हणजे निबंधाची आकर्षक, योग्य सुरुवात आणि सकारात्मक समारोप!

वेगळा ठसा उमटवणारा मजकूर त्यात आला, तर असा निबंध खूप परिणामकारक ठरू शकतो. निबंधाच्या मांडणीशी संबंधित अजून एक महत्त्वाचा मुद्दा म्हणजे निबंधाची एखाद्या प्रसंगातून नुकत्याच घडलेल्या एखाद्या घटनेचा संदर्भ घेत; निबंध विषयासंबंधात कुतूहल जागे होईल, निबंध वाचायची उत्कंठा निर्माण होईल, अशी निबंधाची सुरुवात असावी.

पण ‘नमनालाच घडाभर तेल अशी अवस्था होत नाही ना, याबद्दल जागरूक असावे.

सुरुवातीची चांगली कल्पना किती तपशीलवार मांडायची. ?

निबंधाची शब्दमर्यादा लक्षात घेऊन ठरवावे, निबंधाचा शेवट करतानाही आशादायी, समस्या निवारणाच्या दिशेने जाणार उपाययोजना सुचवणारा, भविष्याबद्दल मंगल चित्र रंगवणारा असावा, समस्या किती का असेना, ती निवारण्याचे बळ तुम्हा तरुणाईच्या मनगटात नक्कीच आहे, हे निबंधातून जाणवायला हवे. या विभागाचे आणखी एक महत्त्वाचे वैशिष्ट्य म्हणजे प्रस्तावना.

Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducts State Service Examination, also called, Maharashtra Rajyaseva Pariksha. Get the latest updates about MPSC Syllabus and Exam Pattern below:

Changes in MPSC Syllabus

In a recent notification, MPSC has announced the revision of the MPSC Mains Syllabus. The revised exam pattern is more descriptive in nature and resembles the exam pattern of UPSC. Now it will have 9 papers instead of six. The MPSC Mains exam will be held for a total of 1,750 marks instead of 800. In the new exam pattern of MPSC Mains, the marks scored in the two language papers will not be included in the merit scoring instead they have been made qualifying in nature. Other than these two, there are 7 compulsory papers which include one essay paper, 4 general studies papers and 2 papers on one optional subject chosen from a list of 26 subjects. Changes in MPSC Exam Pattern

The Commission has made the changes in the exam pattern w.r.t to the negative marking in the Objective Type Question Papers. Against 1/3rd negative marking which was earlier allotted to every incorrect answer, the commission now has allowed a negative marking of 25% or 1/4 of the total marks, for every wrong answer.

MPSC Exam Pattern [Revised]

Like the UPSC civil services exam , the MPSC state services exam is also conducted in three stages:

A candidate has to clear one stage in order to be eligible for the subsequent stage, i.e, if he/she clears the prelims, he/she moves onto the mains, clearing which he/she would be summoned for the final stage (interview) of the MPSC exam.

MPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern

This exam consists of two papers, both of which are objective in nature. Take a look at the following table for the details of the prelims exam. Please note that both papers are compulsory.

• Candidates should note that there is negative marking for incorrect answers.
• For every incorrect answer, the candidate will be penalised 1/4 of the marks allocated to that question.
• For every question where a candidate has given two options as answers, he/she will be attracting a negative marking of 25 per cent of the total marks assigned to that question.
• The questions on decision making (Paper-II) do not attract negative marks***************** if incorrectly answered. These generally comprise question numbers from 74 to 80 in Paper-II.
• In MPSC, both Paper I and II are counted for the merit ranking for qualifying for the MPSC mains.

Important: In the IAS exam, the UPSC CSAT paper in Prelims is just a qualifying paper (33% qualifying criteria)

• The prelims marks are not counted for the final merit list.
• All the questions are set in English and Marathi except for those questions which are meant to test the candidate’s knowledge of English.

MPSC Mains Exam Pattern [Revised]

The MPSC has announced a new exam pattern for the year 2024. The commission has brought significant changes to the exam pattern which are discussed below:

The detailed exam pattern of the MPSC Rajyaseva Mains exam is as follows:

• Candidates should note that they have to choose the medium of answering the papers at the time of submitting the online application for the Main examination.
• The question papers will be set in Marathi and English languages (except language papers, Marathi literature and subject for which medium has been indicated as English).

MPSC Interview

Candidates who clear the mains exam are summoned for the MPSC interview. In this round, a panel of the MPSC board assesses the candidate for his/her suitability for the administrative career through a personal discussion. This is more like a personality test where apart from knowledge, the candidate’s attributes such as aptitude, presence of mind, communication skills, etc. are evaluated.

MPSC Mains Exam Pattern [Old]

As of 9th July 2020, the General Studies syllabus of MPSC Mains has been revised.

In the mains exam, there are six compulsory papers. Paper I and Paper II are language papers while Papers 3, 4, 5, and 6 are general studies papers. There are no optional subjects in the MPSC, a change that was made in 2012.

In MPSC Mains, there is negative marking in the objective question papers.

Though many topics overlap with the UPSC syllabus , it is not entirely the same. Also, there is a specific focus on Maharashtra, as mentioned explicitly in the syllabus.

With the right preparation strategy, it is possible for candidates to prepare for both exams simultaneously.

MPSC Prelims Syllabus

The detailed syllabus for MPSC Prelims is given below:

Paper I (200 marks)

• Current events of state, national and international importance.
• History of India and Indian National Movement with some weightage to Maharashtra
• Maharashtra, India and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of Maharashtra, India and the World.
• India and Maharashtra – Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Urban Governance, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc.
• Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
• General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialisation.
• General Science.

Paper-II (200 marks)

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision-making and problem-solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)
• Marathi and English language comprehension skills (Class X/XII level) Questions relating to this will be tested through passages from Marathi and English language without providing cross translation thereof in the question paper.

MPSC Mains Syllabus

The syllabus for the nine papers in the MPSC mains is given below.

Paper I – Marathi (300 Marks)

The pattern of questions would be broadly as follows :

• Comprehension of given passages.
• Precis Writing.
• Usage and Vocabulary.
• Short Essays.
• Translation from English to Marathi and vice-versa.

This paper will be of qualifying nature. The marks obtained in this paper will not be counted for ranking.

Paper II – English (300 Marks)

Paper III – Essay (250 Marks)

In Essay Paper, candidates may be required to write essays on multiple topics. They will be expected to keep close to the subject of the essay to arrange their ideas in an orderly fashion and write concisely.

Paper IV – General Studies 1 (250 Marks)

[Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society with some weightage to Maharashtra]

• Indian culture will cover the salient aspects of Art Forms, Literature and Architecture from ancient to modern times.
• Bhakti movement and its philosophy with special reference to saints’ movement in Maharashtra.
• Modern Indian history from about the middle of the eighteenth century until the present- significant events, personalities, issues.
• The Freedom Struggle – its various stages and important contributors /contributions from different parts of the country.
• Post-independence consolidation and reorganization within the country.
• History of the world will include events from the 18th century such as industrial revolution, world wars, redrawal of national boundaries, colonization, decolonization, political philosophies like communism, capitalism, socialism etc.- their forms and effect on society.
• Salient features of Indian Society , Diversity of India
• Role of women and women’s organization, population and associated issues, poverty and developmental issues, urbanization, their problems and their remedies
• Effects of globalization on Indian society
• Social empowerment, communalism, regionalism, secularism
• Salient features of the world’s physical geography.
• Distribution of key natural resources across the world (including South Asia and the Indian subcontinent factors responsible for the location of primary, secondary, and tertiary sector industries in various parts of the world (including India)
• Important Geophysical phenomena such as earthquakes, Tsunami, Volcanic activity, cyclone etc., geographical features and their location- changes in critical geographical features (including water bodies and ice-caps) and in flora and fauna and the effects of such changes.

Paper V – General Studies 2 (250 Marks)

[Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations with some weightage to Maharashtra]

• Indian Constitution- historical underpinnings, evolution, features, amendments, significant provisions and basic structure.
• Functions and responsibilities of the Union and the States, issues and challenges pertaining to the federal structure, devolution of powers and finances up to local levels and challenges therein.
• Separation of powers between various organs; dispute redressal mechanisms and institutions.
• Comparison of the Indian constitutional scheme with that of other countries
• Parliament and State Legislatures – structure, functioning, the conduct of business, powers & privileges and issues arising out of these.
• Structure, organization and functioning of the Executive and the Judiciary- Ministries and Departments of the Government; pressure groups and formal/informal associations and their role in the Polity.
• Local self-government.
• Salient features of the Representation of People’s Act.
• Appointment to various Constitutional posts, powers, functions and responsibilities of various Constitutional Bodies
• Statutory, regulatory and various quasi-judicial bodies.
• Government policies and interventions for development in various sectors and issues arising out of their design and implementation.
• Development processes and the development industry- the role of NGOs, SHGs, various groups and associations, donors, charities, institutional and other stakeholders.
• Welfare schemes for vulnerable sections of the population by the Centre and States and the performance of these schemes; mechanisms, laws, institutions and Bodies constituted for the protection and betterment of these vulnerable sections.
• Issues relating to the development and management of Social Sector/Services relating to Health, Education, Human Resources.
• Issues relating to poverty and hunger.
• Important aspects of governance, transparency and accountability, e-governance- applications, models, successes, limitations, and potential; citizens charters, transparency & accountability and institutional and other measures.
• Role of civil services in a democracy.
• India and its neighbourhood- relations.
• Bilateral, regional and global groupings and agreements involving India and/or affecting India’s interests.
• Effect of policies and politics of developed and developing countries on India’s interests, Indian Diaspora.
• Important International institutions, agencies and fora- their structure, mandate.

• Issues related to direct and indirect farm subsidies and minimum support prices; Public Distribution System- objectives, functioning, limitations, revamping; issues of buffer stocks and food security; Technology missions; economics of animal-rearing.
• Food processing and related industries in India- scope and significance, location, upstream and downstream requirements, supply chain management.
• Land reforms in India.
• Effects of liberalization on the economy, changes in industrial policy and their effects on industrial growth.
• Infrastructure: Energy, Ports, Roads, Airports, Railways etc.
• Investment models.
• Science and Technology- developments and their applications and effects in everyday life.
• Achievements of Indians in science & technology; indigenization of technology and developing new technology.
• Awareness in the fields of IT, Space, Computers, robotics, nano-technology, bio-technology and issues relating to intellectual property rights.

Paper VII – General Studies 4 (250 Marks)

This paper will include questions to test the candidates’ attitude and approach to issues relating to integrity, probity in public life, his problem-solving approach and decision making to various issues and conflicts faced by him in dealing with society. Questions may utilise the case study approach to determine these aspects. The following broad areas will be covered:

• Ethics and Human Interface: Essence, determinants and consequences of Ethics in human actions; dimensions of ethics; ethics- in private and public relationships. Human Values – lessons from the lives and teachings of great leaders, reformers and administrators; role of family, society and educational institutions in inculcating values.
• Attitude: content, structure, function; its influence and relation with thought and behaviour; moral and political attitudes; social influence and persuasion.
• Aptitude and foundational values for Civil Service, integrity, impartiality and non-partisanship, objectivity, dedication to public service, empathy, tolerance and compassion towards the weaker sections.
• Emotional intelligence-concepts, and their utilities and application in administration and governance.
• Contributions of moral thinkers and philosophers from India and the world.
• Public/Civil service values and Ethics in Public administration: Status and problems; ethical concerns and dilemmas in government and private institutions; laws, rules, regulations and conscience as sources of ethical guidance; accountability and ethical governance; strengthening of ethical and moral values in governance; ethical issues in international relations and funding; corporate governance.
• Probity in Governance: Concept of public service; Philosophical basis of governance and probity; Information sharing and transparency in government, Right to Information, Codes of Ethics, Codes of Conduct, Citizen’s Charters, Work culture, Quality of service delivery, Utilization of public funds, challenges of corruption.
• Case Studies on the above issues.
