• Flying the Tiranga made of any material other than Khadi or hand-spun cloth is punishable by law.
• The flag can be carried during processions but must be borne only on the right shoulder of the bearer. Secondly, it must always be carried in front of the procession.
• The flag must always be held high and not lowered before anything.
• No other flag can be placed above the Tri-colour neither can it be placed to its right.
• Whenever the flag is in a moving column, the people present must stand in attention position and pay respect by saluting as it passes them.
• The flag must be flown at half mast to signify mourning. It is flown half mast across the nation in case of death of President, Vice-president and Prime Minister during their duty period.

Sari allows them to maintain modesty and freedom of movement. On the other hand, men traditionally wear a dhoti and kurta. Actually, Dhoti is a type of cloth without any further attached work done on it. The great Mahatma Gandhi was very fond of it and in their dignity, most of the people used to wear the same. 

Apart from all the above facts, Indians are legends with arts and studious material. Indian Clothing is considered to be the epitome of modesty and every style is very different in each region and state. But the two pieces of clothing that represent Indian culture are dhoti for men and saree for women. Women adorn themselves with a lot of bangles and Payal that goes around their ankles. Even clothing styles varied from different religions to regions to cultures. Muslim women preferred to wear salwar kameez whereas Christian women preferred gowns. Men mostly stuck to dhoti, lungi, shalwar and kurta.In modern days, people have changed their sense of style, men and women now wear more modern western clothes. Indian clothes are still valued but are now in more trendy and fashionable styles.

History of Republic Day

While we got independence from British rule on August 15, 1947, our country was still lacking a concrete constitution. Moreover, India also did not have any experts and political powers which would help in the functioning of the state affairs smoothly.  Up until then, the 1935 Government of India Act was basically modified in order to govern, however, that act was more bent towards the colonial rule. Therefore, there was a dire need to form an exclusive constitution that would reflect all that India stands for.

Thus, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar led a constitutional drafting committee on August 28, 1947.  After drafting, it was presented to the Constituent Assembly by the same committee on November 4, 1947. This whole procedure was very elaborate and took up to 166 days to complete. Moreover, the committee organized sessions were kept open to the public.

No matter the challenges and hardships, our constitutional committee left no stone unturned to include rights for all. It aimed to create the perfect balance so all citizens of the country could enjoy equal rights pertaining to their religions, culture, caste, sex, creed and more. At last, they presented the official Indian constitution to the country on January 26, 1950.

Moreover, the first session of the India Parliament was also conducted on this day. In addition to that, 26 th January also witnessed the swearing-in of India’s first president, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Thus, this day is very important as it marks the end of the British rule and birth of India as a Republic State.

Republic Day Celebrations

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has declared the much-awaited HPBOSE Class 12 board results 2024. The board has announced the Class 12 results in a press conference. Class 12 students can visit the official website of the board, i.e., hpbose.in, to check and download their respective results. In the press conference, the board will release details regarding toppers, pass percentage of girls and boys, overall pass percentage, and compartmental examination details.

This year, India Today is also hosting the HPBOSE Class 12 results 2024. Students can visit the official result page of India Today, indiatoday.in/education-today/results, to check and download their respective results.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education conducted the HPBOSE Class 12 board exam 2024 from March 1 to March 28, 2024, and over 85,000 students appeared.
