YoonA says filming 'Confidential Assignment 2: International' was very meaningful since all the cast members from the first movie were in it

YoonA  shared her honest thoughts about filming ' Confidential Assignment 2: International .' On September 6, YoonA talked with Wikitree and shared her thoughts on filming the sequel to ' Confidential Assignment .' On this day, YoonA was asked what was the most significant influence on her decision to appear in the second film and explained, " I think it was the family members who appeared. I think it was meaningful because we were together in the second film as well."

It is known that YoonA is a close friend of Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin married Son Ye Jin this March. Therefore, YoonA was asked if it was uncomfortable having a romantic relationship in the film with the character played by Hyun Bin, who is now Son Ye Jin's husband.

In response, YoonA explained, " In this film, Cheol Ryeong (Hyun Bin's character) didn't become my husband yet, so I didn't feel overwhelmed. I didn't think much about that because the relationship between the two characters remained the same as in the first film. I think it's only a romantic relationship for me,"  and laughed.

YoonA also explained that she wants to show a more mature Min Young (YoonA's character in the film) if she were to film 'Confidential Assignment 3.' YoonA elaborated, " I think it's more important to keep Minyoung's personality. I think she would be able to show her ability in the third movie since she joined in on the investigation even a little bit in the second film."

When asked about wanting the relationship between Min Young and Cheol Ryeong to become more developed, YoonA explained, " I think it would be good if there is a bit of growth in that aspect too. There were more signs in this second film than the first so I think it would be good if there would be more signals in the third film."  She added, " In the third film, Cheolryeong should express something too at that point." 

Meanwhile, 'Confidential Assignment 2: International' follows an unlikely duo - North Korean detective Rim Cheol Ryeong (played by Hyun Bin) and South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae (Played by Yoo Hae Jin ) - who partner up with a new teammate, Jack (played by Daniel Henney). These three detectives work together to catch an international criminal while bickering and cooperating without a choice.

SNSD's YoonA details her experience and thoughts about the new movie "Confidential Assignment 2" along with Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae Jin, and Daniel Henney. 

Helmed by Lee Seok Hoon, the action comedy film is the sequel to the 2017 blockbuster film "Confidential Assignment" which also stars Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae Jin. 

Five years after the first installment was released, the beloved duo returns with a special colleague and a new villain. 

As the movie's sequel gets positive responses from the viewers, Girls' Generation's YoonA spoke about her thoughts about being in a love triangle with Hyun Bin and Daniel for "Confidential Assignment 2: International."

Girls' Generation's YoonA on Team Up With Hyun Bin and Daniel Henney

In a virtual interview , the singer-actress shared that she is thrilled to be reunited with co-stars and see new faces for the movie. 

YoonA reprised her role as Park Min Young in "Confidential Assignment 2." She plays Kang Jin Tae's (Yoo Hae Jin) sister-in-law, whose love interest is Im Chul Ryung (Hyun Bin.)

However, she is caught up in a love triangle after meeting the FBI agent Jack, played by Daniel Henney.

During the interview, the singer-actress described being on the set as "a happy work environment", especially with her co-stars. 

As for her love triangle with Hyun Bin and Daniel Henney, YoonA pointed out that it was among one of the happiest scenes in the entire movie. 

​​"It was a scene where she was happy in many ways, from working with wonderful brothers as a partner and taking good care of me," she said. 

In the movie, Hyun Bin reprised his role as North Korean detective Im Chul Ryung who returned to South Korea to team up once again with detective Kang Jin Tae.

Interestingly, joining the special mission is the dashing FBI agent, Jack, played by Daniel Henney. 

As for the highly anticipated sequel, "Confidential Assignment 2: International" introduced the new villain, Jang Myung Joon, played by Jin Sun Kyu, who is the mastermind behind the criminal syndicate. 

Apart from the love triangle with the Girls' Generation's member, the action-packed sequel is Hyun Bin and Daniel Henney's reunion project. 

To recall, the duo first worked in the 2004 drama "My Lovely Sam Soon" along with Kim Sun Ah. 

"Confidential Assignment 2" had its theatrical release on September 7 and has been getting an overwhelming response from the public.

Moreover, outlets predicted that the sequel will be getting its first million mark in less than a week since the premiere.

From her blockbuster movie to hit K-drama "Big Mouth" the 32-year-old beauty is having back-to-back projects in the coming year. 

She is set to headline the upcoming rom-com "King the Land" with 2PM's Junho and will be joining as one of the cast in "Planners Capital" with Jung Da Bin, Kim Yo Han, and Choi Siwon.

Hyun Bin, YoonA, Daniel Henney, And More Celebrate As "Confidential Assignment 2" Surpasses 5 Million Moviegoers

“Confidential Assignment 2: International” has reached an exciting new milestone at the Korean box office!

On September 22, the Korean Film Council announced that as of 7 a.m. KST that morning, “Confidential Assignment 2” had officially surpassed 5 million moviegoers—meaning that the film took less than 16 days to hit the 5 million mark.

“Confidential Assignment 2” is only the third Korean movie to reach the milestone this year, following “ The Roundup ” (“The Outlaws 2”) and “Hansan: Rising Dragon.”

In celebration of the film’s latest achievement, “Confidential Assignment 2” stars Hyun Bin , Girls’ Generation’s YoonA , Daniel Henney , Yoo Hae Jin , and Jin Sun Kyu all gathered with director Lee Seok Hoon to pose for a cute group photo.

“Confidential Assignment 2” stars Hyun Bin as a North Korean detective named Rim Chul Ryung and Yoo Hae Jin as a South Korean detective named Kang Jin Tae, who previously teamed up to catch a criminal in the original “Confidential Assignment” film. In the new sequel, the duo gets back together to hunt down the leader of a North Korean criminal organization that has wreaked havoc all over the world (played by Jin Sun Kyu), and they are joined by Kang Jin Tae’s sister-in-law (Girls’ Generation’s YoonA) and an FBI agent from the United States (Daniel Henney).

Hyun bin and yoona might reunite in the movie "confidential assignment 2", it's the sequel of their hit 2017 film, grace libero-cruz.

Confidential Assignment 2  is happening, and it could reunite actress  YoonA  with actors  Hyun Bin  and  Yoo Hae-jin .

According to a report by Munhwa Ilbo, YoonA was offered the female lead role in the sequel of the hit 2017 film. 

In  Confidential Assignment , Hyun Bin plays the role of Im Cheol-ryung, an officer of a special investigation team in North Korea, tasked to catch his superior who stole master plates used to print counterfeit money and fled to South Korea. Yoo Hae-jin is Kang Jin-tae, a detective from Seoul who's assigned to monitor the activities of Im Cheol-ryeong while he's in South Korea. YoonA is Park Min-young, the sister-in-law of Kang Jin-tae.

Are Kang Ha-Neul And Son Ye-Jin Starring In A Historical Drama?

YoonA's agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed this news, saying, “YoonA has received the offer to star in Confidential Assignment 2 , and she is reviewing the offer.”

Her role in  Confidential Assignment  was just minor, but she made an impact with her portrayal there and displayed good chemistry with Hyun Bin. This is why the sequel seeks to make her a female lead, and possibly explore the brewing romance between her character and Hyun Bin's.

Both Hyun Bin and YoonA are currently working on other projects. After his successful K-Drama Crash Landing on You , he's now filming for the movie  Bargaining . She, on the other hand,  is confirmed to star in the upcoming JTBC drama titled  Hush and is also filming for the movie  Miracle.

In other news, Hyun Bin's  Crash Landing on You  partner Son Ye-jin is said to have been offered the lead role in a historical drama with actor Kang Ha-neul.

Hyun Bin, YoonA and Daniel Henney starrer Confidential Assignment 2 officially surpassed 5 million moviegoers.

South Korean action film Confidential Assignment 2: International starring Hyun Bin, YoonA and Daniel Henney, officially surpassed 5 million moviegoers in less than 16 days of its release, creating a new milestone.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, on September 22, the Korean Film Council announced that as of 7 AM KST that morning, Confidential Assignment 2 took less than 16 days to hit the 5 million audience mark.

To commemorate the achievement, the film’s stars Hyun Bin, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, Daniel Henney, Yoo Hae Jin, and Jin Sun Kyu posed for a group photo along with director Lee Seok Hoon. In the sequel, Hyun Bin returns as the badass North Korean detective Rim Chul Ryung.

Yoo Hae Jin plays the South Korean detective named Kang Jin Tae and Daniel Henney portrays Jack, an FBI agent from the United States who is on the trail of a North Korean criminal organization that has wreaked havoc all over the world, while Jin Sun Kyu will be playing Jang Myung Joon, the leader of said criminal organization. Girls’ Generation’s YoonA also returns as Park Min Young, the sister-in-law of Kang Jin Tae.

Confidential Assignment 2: Hyun Bin, YoonA, Yoo Hae Jin, Jin Seon Kyu share their experience

The sequel to the 2017 film, Confidential Assignment 2: International (Korean: 공조2; Hanja: 共助2; RR: Gongjo 2; lit. Cooperation 2) will release in September 2022. Recently, some of the stars, including Hyun Bin, YoonA, Yoo Hae Jin and Jin Seon Kyu attended a press conference to promote the upcoming movie. There they spoke about their experience working together again and the difficulties they faced while making the sequel.

The director Lee Seok Hoon talked about the difficulties of producing a sequel film, explaining, “There are inevitably jinxes that the sequel does worse than the original. I thought about the cause of that. I thought that I couldn’t rely on the previous work’s success when following suit with the characters.”

He added, “There are a lot of comments saying that it’s great to see the actors from the first film return. I think the conditions for the sequel are the characters who receive love. I believe that the curiosity of the characters’ back stories is the driving force that creates sequels.”

Lee SeokHoon continued, “While we didn’t specifically discuss this, I’ve personally thought about what kind of story it could be if a third film was made. If the sequel receives lots of love, I anticipate that a third film can be made through that driving force.”

Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae Jin, and YoonA talked about their return to The Confidential Assignment 2: International. They said, “I really liked it. As soon as there was talk about ‘Confidential Assignment 2,’ I thought it’d be great if I could do it with the actors from before. While we were comfortable, I also think our synergy was doubled.”

YooHae Jin remarked, “For ‘Confidential Assignment 1,’ the results were good but it was also good on set, which is why I was excited to see everyone again.”

YoonA continued, “This is my first time meeting everyone again for a series production. It was so nice [to see everyone] and I felt really familiar. I was able to film even more comfortably.”

YoonA also explained her rolePark Min Young as an employed woman in the sequel.

She said, “After being persecuted for being unemployed in the first film, she’s now found a job as a beauty YouTuber. She also develops conflicting thoughts when she starts giving Jack the feelings she had for Chul Ryung.” She made everyone laugh as she added, “I think that happens with anyone in front of her.”

 The South Korean actor Jin Sun Kyu shared his experience playing a villain and about his looks in the movie. He made quips about Jang Myung Jun’s hairstyle, describing it as a mushroom-shaped snack.

 “I’m anticipating a good portrayal of my physical transformation. I honestly felt really happy. I showed my wife because it was such a different image and she said, ‘Honey, what kind of role? Choco Boy role?,'”

Jin Sun Kyuamusingly added, “I thought she would say I looked cool but she said I resembled Choco Boy.”

Hyun Bin and Daniel Henney are reuniting in Confidential Assignment 2 after 17 years. Lastly they both work together in the 2005 drama “My Lovely Sam Soon.” Daniel Henney was unable to attend the press conference, as he is currently out of the country. He made his appearance through a video call. While sharing the memories of the duos last film he said, “After meeting again, it felt like we got close right off the bat.”

Hyun Bin added, “As we’ve both been in our individual places and have been acting well to fit our situations, I think that’s why we were able to work on another project together. It was so nice to see him on set. I was also really looking forward to it. It was so great.”

Daniel Henney said on the happiest moments throughout the shooting “There’s a nightclub scene in the movie and after that filming, Hyun Bin and I drank beer at a hotel and talked a lot about old times. I personally really enjoyed it.”

Lastly, director Lee Seok Hoon commented, “All the movies I’ve made thus far have been for audiences over the age of 12. They’re not that cruel or violent and are fun. I hope this becomes a fun and enjoyable film that viewers can watch with their families this Chuseok holiday [Korean equivalent of Thanksgiving]. I will be thankful if you seek out the movie theater and choose ‘Confidential Assignment’ this Chuseok.”

YoonA shared, “The impressiveness and fun of the first film will be doubled in the sequel. I hope you will join ‘Confidential Assignment’ this Chuseok.” Hyun Bin added, “I’m seeing and greeting you for the first time in a while. As much love as we’ve received, we made this just as diligently so I hope you enjoy it this Chuseok.”

Confidential Assignment 2 is all about a secret cooperative investigation between North and South Korea. Im Cheol-ryung is heading back to South Korea to team up again with Kang Jin-tae (played by Yooae-jin) to chase the criminal. Hyun Bin will reprise his role Im Cheol-ryung, an officer of a special investigation team in North Korea. He teamed up with a South Korean detective named Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin) to catch the notorious criminals. Read the synopsis below.

"North Korean detective Im Chul-Ryung is sent to South Korea on a new mission. His target is North Korean crime organization leader Jang Myung-Joon (Jin Sun-kyu). In South Korea, Im Chul-ryung teams up again with Detective Kang Jin-Tae Because of a mistake he made, Detective Kang Jin-Tae now works in a cybercrime investigation team rather than the regional investigation unit. He wants to rejoin the regional investigation unit. Meanwhile, F.B.I. Agent Jack joins Im Chul-ryung and Kang Jin-tae in their pursuit of Jang Myung-Joon."

King the Land's YoonA set to attend the 77th edition of Cannes Film Festival and Kering Women in Motion gala dinner as Qeelin's ambassador

O n May 8, 2024, the South Korean media outlet Star News reported that Girls' Generation and King the Land actress YoonA will attend the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival held between May 14 to May 25, 2024 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

She will be attending the Kering's Woman in Motion Gala dinner and representing the luxury jewelry brand Qeelin as the global ambassador.

Notably, Qeelin announced YoonA as their brand ambassador back in July 2023.

It has been reported that Girls' Generation and King the Land actress Yoona will attend the International Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2024, and appear on the red carpet donning accessories from the brand Qeelin. Being the only Korean ambassador for the prestigious brand the idol is expected to make a grand entry at the event.

She would also reportedly attend the Women in Motion gala dinner, which will be organized by the parent French luxury group Kering. It has also been stated that she will be holding some magazine photo shoots at the Cannes International Film Festival, as scheduled.

Meanwhile, Lim YoonA will also attend the premiere of the film I, The Executioner , also known as Veteran 2 , which has been invited to the 77th edition of the International Film Festival. Helmed by director Ryu Seung-wan and featuring Hwang Jung-min, Jung Hae-in, Oh Dal-so, and others, it is the much-awaited sequel film of 2015's Veteran.

She has also sent a coffee truck to the filming set of Veteran 2 to showcase her support for the cast. Many fans also wished to see YoonA and Jung Hae-in's reunion at the event.

YoonA's news about the reported appearance at the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival went viral on social media. The fandom stated that the King the Land actress will slay the red carpet with her impeccable fashion sense and overpowering visuals.

Meanwhile, Girls' Generation's agency SM Entertainment has not released any statement regarding her appearance at the 77th Cannes International Film Festival, nor did they confirm it. The fandom is eagerly awaiting for the record label to release an official stance about the news.
