Animal Rights Essay

This IELTS animal rights essay discusses the exploitation of animals by humans.

People who believe in animal rights think that they should not be treated cruelly, for example in experiments or for sport.

'To exploit' means to benefit from something in an unfair way. Take a look at the question:

A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by people and that they should have the same rights as humans, while others argue that humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Discussing 'Two Opinions'

Animals should not be exploited by people and they should have the same rights as humans. Humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research.

In this essay you are being given two opposing opinions to discuss.

This is the first opinion:

Animals should not be exploited by people and they should have the same rights as humans.

This is the second opinion:

Humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research.

In this type of essay, you must look at both sides. In other words you need to discuss the arguments FOR animal rights and AGAINST .

You must also ensure you give YOUR opinion.

Organising the Essay

One way to organize an essay like this is to consider both opinions, then give your opinion in a final paragraph ( see this example ) or dedicate a whole final paragraph to your opinion ( see this example ).

Another way to write an essay like this is to also make one of the 'for' or 'against' opinions your opinion as well.

Look at the model animal rights essay below. The second body paragraph discusses the first opinion, but the topic sentence makes it clear that this paragraph is also representing the writers opinion as well:

However, I do not believe these arguments stand up to scrutiny.

This now means that in two body paragraphs you have covered all three parts of the question from the animal rights essay:

1. First opinion 2. Second opinion 3. Your opinion

The advantage of doing it this way rather than having a separate paragraph is that you do not need to come up with new ideas for a new paragraph.

If you have a separate paragraph with your opinion you may find you cannot think of any new ideas or you may end up repeating the same things as in your previous paragraphs.

IELTS Writing Example

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.

Write at least 250 words.

Animal Rights Essay - Model Answer

Animals have always been used by humans in some form to satisfy their needs. However, while some people believe that animals should be treated in the same way humans are and have similar rights, others think that it is more important to use them as we desire for food and medical research.

With regard to the exploitation of animals, people believe it is acceptable for several reasons. Firstly, they think that humans are the most important beings on the planet, and everything must be done to ensure human survival. If this means experimenting on animals so that we can fight and find cures for diseases, then this takes priority over animal suffering. Furthermore, it is believed by some that animals do not feel pain or loss as humans do, so if we have to kill animals for food or other uses, then this is morally acceptable.

However, I do not believe these arguments stand up to scrutiny. To begin, it has been shown on numerous occasions by secret filming in laboratories via animal rights groups that animals feel as much pain as humans do, and they suffer when they are kept in cages for long periods. In addition, a substantial amount of animal research is done for cosmetics, not to find cures for diseases, so this is unnecessary. Finally, it has also been proven that humans can get all the nutrients and vitamins that they need from green vegetables and fruit. Therefore, again, having to kill animals for food is not an adequate argument.

To sum up, although some people argue killing animals for research and food is ethical, I would argue there is sufficient evidence to demonstrate that this is not the case, and, therefore, steps must be taken to improve the rights of animals.

Animal Rights Essay

In the IELTS writing exam, you could be asked to write an essay about animals. Most likely, your question would relate to animal rights . This might seem challenging for some people, so I have written this article to help you understand it better.

Animal Rights and IELTS

For IELTS writing, you often have to discuss ethical issues. Thus, for the topic of animals, you would most likely have to write about animal rights. This could include:

whether it is ethical to keep animals in a zoo
discussing animal experimentation
the ethics of eating meat
whether humans should keep pets

Because IELTS requires no specialist knowledge, you would probably not have anything more specific than this to discuss. For example, you wouldn’t be asked about the ethics of purebred pet ownership because most people don’t know much about it. You would also not be given anything that is extremely controversial.

Therefore, the most common animal topics will be quite general and relate to animal rights.

Animal Rights Essay – Experimentation

Here is the question that we will examine today:

Some people argue that all experimentation on animals is bad and should be outlawed. However, others believe that important scientific discoveries can be made from animal experiments. Can experimentation on animals be justified? Are there any alternatives?

Note that there are many variants upon this topic. I have seen this same idea with “ Discuss both views ” and “ To what extent do you agree/disagree ” question types.

This one, of course, is a two-part question . Therefore, don’t waste too much time reading the long part above the questions. Regardless of what that says, your task is to:

Say whether or not experiments on animals can be justified.
Say whether there are alternatives to this practice.

Be aware that your answer to the first question cannot negate having to answer the second. Whether you say that animal testing can or can’t be justified, you still have to say whether there are alternatives.

Language for an Animal Rights Essay

If you need to write an essay on animal rights, you need to know some appropriate language. Again, you do not need to be an expert, but you should have enough of a grasp of English to say something intelligent about the topic.

You may have noticed that I’ve used these expressions in this article:

Animal experimentation
Experiments on animals
Animal testing

These all mean the same thing but it can be useful to employ different ways to do that, so that you don’t just repeat yourself.

Of course, what you say will also depend hugely on your position and your ideas. If you think that animal experimentation is wrong, then you’ll probably incorporate some rather negative language, such as:

Impossible to justify

On the other hand, if you support animal testing, you might say something more positive:

It is also good to know some specific language related to the topic:

Medical testing
Subjected to

You can learn more language by reading articles on this topic. Try searching Google for “animal rights” or “animal testing.” You’ll find lots of articles. Just make sure that it is written by a native speaker or a professional writer. Also, be aware that with a contentious topic there will probably be a lot of passionate language and maybe even some misinformation.

Planning your Answer

First of all, you need to figure out what your position is in regards the question(s). Then, you need to think about how to explain your position in a straightforward way.

Here, we had two questions. Both of them are yes/no questions but of course you need to develop those ideas with explanations. Think of your answer as “Yes because…” or “No because…” This will help you to think of reasons that you can then incorporate into your answers.

Also, be aware that two-part questions are really easy to structure! You can just devote one body paragraph to each question:

My position is that animal experimentation cannot be justified, so I will explain that in my first body paragraph. I will start with the main argument in defence of animal testing, then refute it comprehensively.

For the next question, I will state that I don’t really know whether or not there are any alternatives. Thus, my structure will be:

Sample Band 9 Answer

Over the past few decades, animal testing has been fiercely debated due to the ethical problems inherent in this area of science. This essay will explain why it cannot be justified and that alternatives need to be sought.

The people who believe that animal testing is necessary tend to say that there are serious benefits to humanity, such as testing medicines before using them on human beings. They believe that this will help to figure out the cures to many serious illnesses, which will make the world a better place for humans. However, this is wrong for several reasons. Chief among them is the fact that animal testing is not as helpful in developing medicines as people think. Medicines that work on animals do not always work on humans, and vice versa. As such, these trials are not just unnecessary but also profoundly unhelpful. For example, if scientists give a mouse diabetes and then try various drugs to cure the problem, they may find that there are twelve drugs that do not work on the mouse. However, maybe one of those drugs would have worked on a human. As such, animal testing would have caused more problems than it solved.

Part of the reason for animal testing is that there are not many alternatives. Whilst it is obviously cruel and pointless to subject animals to experiments, most people would agree that it is worse to do this to human beings. However, there needs to be some sort of procedure by which testing can move from theoretical to human trials without the need for the evils of animal testing. What this process would be remains to be seen, but it is essential for any humane society.

In conclusion, people may argue that there are benefits that come from experimenting on animals, but in fact there is no good reason to continue doing this. Scientists need to immediately seek an alternative and end this barbaric and pointless practice.

Notes on the Answer

This was a good answer because it gave fully developed explanations and used language accurately. Here are some words and phrases from the answer:

fiercely debated
ethical problems
profoundly unhelpful
cruel and pointless
theoretical
humane society

Paragraph two was also quite interesting. I felt that the most convincing way to make my point was to show conventional logic and then comprehensively debunk it. To do so, I gave a clear example and demonstrated through a simple explanation of just why animal testing is so useless.

In recent years, there has been a growing movement advocating for the rights of animals, with many people arguing that animals should not be exploited by humans and should have the same rights as humans. On the other hand, some argue that humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research. Both views have valid points, but it is essential to consider the ethical implications and strike a balance.

Those who advocate for animal rights argue that animals are sentient beings capable of feeling pain and suffering. They believe that exploiting animals for human needs is morally wrong and goes against the principles of compassion and empathy. Animals deserve to live free from cruelty and exploitation, just like humans.

On the contrary, proponents of using animals argue that it is necessary for human survival. Humans have been relying on animals for food since ancient times, and without them, our diets would lack essential nutrients. Additionally, animal research has contributed significantly to medical advancements that benefit both humans and animals alike.

While it is crucial to acknowledge the importance of animal welfare, completely eliminating all forms of animal exploitation may not be practical or feasible. However, steps can be taken to minimize harm by promoting ethical treatment in industries such as farming or ensuring strict regulations in scientific research.

In my opinion, striking a balance between respecting animal rights and meeting human needs is crucial. It is possible to reduce unnecessary exploitation while still acknowledging our reliance on certain aspects such as food production or medical research. Implementing stricter regulations on industries involving animal use can help ensure their well-being while satisfying human necessities responsibly.

In conclusion, both viewpoints regarding animal exploitation hold merit; however, finding a middle ground where we respect animal rights while fulfilling our basic needs seems like the most reasonable approach. By promoting ethical treatment practices in industries involving animals’ use and supporting alternatives when available, we can strive towards a more compassionate society without compromising our survival requirements.

A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by people and that they should have the same rights as humans, while others argue that humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Sample Answer

Many people believe that animals are supposed to be treated in the same way as humans, and should have comparable rights. While other people believe that it is vital to utilize them as we want for purposes such as food, flesh, and research work. In this essay, I will elaborate both the viewpoints along with my opinion.

As to the abuse of creatures, many understand that it is considered for a few reasons. Firstly, they believe that humans are the most essential creatures on earth, and their survival should be ensured on a priority. If it requires sacrificing other creatures for discovering solutions for infections or for food, humans have the right to do so. Moreover, it is accepted by some that animals don’t feel torment, pain, or loss as humans do, hence the killing of animals for human needs is justified and ethically worthy.

There are many people who have studied animal behaviors closely and have an opposing idea. As per many such people, animals should have their own rights, and must not be abused or sacrificed for human requirements. It has been proven through numerous laboratory experiments that animals are capable of feelings and emotions, and feel pain as much as humans do. In addition, a considerable measure of creature research is accomplished for beauty care products and not to discover remedies for ailments which is unnecessary. Finally, it has also been proven that humans can get all the nutrients and vitamins that they need from green vegetables and fruit. Therefore, again, having to kill animals for food is not an adequate argument.

In my opinion, the arguments against animal rights do not stand up to scrutiny. To sum up, albeit a few people contend murdering animals for research and sustenance is moral, I would say that there is adequate proof to show the contrary, and steps must be taken to improve the privileges of creatures.

Humans are the most advanced species, and we exploit all natural resources, including animals, to sustain ourselves (view 1) . However, as our civilization advances, many people have come to believe that animals should have the same right as humans have and they should not be exploited for greed (view 2) .

The advancements in human civilization would have been incomplete without the use and exploitation of animals and plants. We have used animals for various purposes ranging from medical science to survival in extreme climate . (Explain these two reasons and close this view)

Research for development of new drugs is first conducted on animals such as rats and pigs. A lot of psychological testing is also done on animals before implementing it on humans. Thus, in improving human health and longevity, animal exploitation has played an instrumental role. Moreover, humans have used animal food and skin for survival in extreme weather conditions such as those in Alaska and Siberia. In the absence of a protein-rich diet, we have used the milch animals, sometimes forcibly, for milk. This practice is prevalent in almost all parts of the world.

Body Paragraph 3: (Discuss view 2)

On the other hand, undoubtedly, humans have unprecedented wealth and resources for survival. Agricultural productivity is high and plants can adequately serve all human needs. However, we continue to exploit the animals for our greed, desire, and taste. This is not only inhuman but also unsustainable. Over-exploitation of animals has disturbed the ecosystem at various places rendering them inhospitable. For instance, some parts of the Himalayas have lost vegetation and witnessed landslides because poachers killed Tigers for money. This led to an increase in the population of herbivores who ate the plants and trees that stabilized the soil of these mountains.

Conclusion: (Conclude by stating your opinion)

In conclusion, animals’ exploitation for human greed must be stopped, and animals should have same rights as humans have. However, we need to use them in a few unavoidable scenarios such as medical research.

Writing an IELTS essay on animals should not be taken lightly. Ensure that you state your objectives clearly in the essay and follow a proper structure that the examiner can understand. Write your essay within the stipulated timeline of 40 minutes while sticking to the minimum word count of 250 words. There is no maximum limit to the word count.

Many advocate the need to protect all wild animals, while others think that it is important to protect some, not all of them. Discuss both views and give your opinion .

Essay 1-

Some people have recommended selective and analytical protection or safeguarding of wild animals. In my personal opinion, the world and humanity hold responsibility for all kinds of wild animals. However, it may periodically have justifications for allocating more resources towards conserving species of a more valuable nature.

Those advocating the protection of specific wild animal species talk about various specific aspects, including the threats faced by these particular species and their overall value from an environmental perspective. For example, tigers are endangered animals and require resource-intensive efforts for conservation compared to commoner animals without the threat of extinction, such as pigeons or even rats, for instance, that have already adapted the skills of thriving in urban semi-urban environments.

Many people will agree that there is a lack of proper logic in offering equal protection and support for species in varying habitats and circumstances. Extreme critics of such policies may also add that some animals deserve better preservation than many others. The tiger, for example, is valued for its biodiversity contributions, its overall nature, and aesthetic factors. Other species like honey bees, for instance, have medicinally and commercially valuable offerings for mankind and the world at large while they are not as valued for aesthetics.

However, I still opine that protection should be similar for all wild animals since humankind has played the biggest role in endangering them. Before the growing population and industrialization over the last few hundred years, animals and humans resided on Earth as equals while sharing its bounties and natural resources more judiciously and equally. For a long time, human beings have kept developing, outstripping natural development. They have now started becoming threats to the natural growth and habitats of innumerable species of wild animals. Humans must implement proper safeguards for all species of wild animals. The absence of protective measures will lead to the entire biodiversity chain collapsing globally, with more ecosystems shrinking and animals dying out and going extinct. Even if a wild animal is not about to go extinct, it will always be crucial for maintaining the population levels of the species to combat any future cycle of irreversible damage.

To conclude, human beings should take protective measures for all wild animals and as many wild animals as possible. However, there are some exceptional scenarios where priority could be given to a few species based on circumstantial factors and reasons. Society and global governments should participate and collaborate in measures and regulations to ensure that wild animals are not casualties of human growth and development. (447 words)

Essay 2-

Human beings have always used animals in various forms to fulfill diverse requirements. Yet, while some individuals think that animals should have similar treatment in human beings with equal rights, others feel that it is vital to use animals for medical research, food, and other uses.

Talking about animals being exploited, many feel it is rather acceptable for different reasons. They feel that human beings are the most vital on the Earth and the entire food chain, with every possible measure being taken for ensuring their continued survival, growth, and progress. If this equates to animal experimentation for curing and combating diseases, then that would be a bigger priority than the suffering of animals. At the same time, these people also believe that animals do not have feelings of loss or pain in the manner of human beings, and hence if they are killed for use as food, then it could be morally and ethically all right.

Yet, I do not feel that these arguments have much meat. Several secret films in laboratories have already shown that courtesy of groups for animal rights and other evidence, animals feel pain akin to human beings and suffer when caged for longer durations. Alongside, a major amount of research on animals is already done for medicinal and cosmetic uses. It is not all for finding remedies to ailments, and hence the cosmetics and beauty industry exploits animals greatly for its profits. This is not fully necessary, in my opinion. It has also been seen that human beings can receive all necessary vitamins and nutrients from plants. Hence, killing animals for food purposes is not a suitable argument.

In conclusion, though some people state that animals can be killed or exploited for food and research purposes, I will ethically argue that there is evidence to show that this is not the right path. Steps should be taken to enhance the safety and rights of animals instead. (347 words)

Human beings are the most developed social animals as per the evolution theories state. Animal rights are the reservations made for the animals for their existence on earth and the virtue of no molestation.

Animals own legal and moral rights as human beings do. Animal welfare is different from animal rights. Animal rights are about advocating on freedom for animals and an allowance made for animals to stay in their natural or original habitat. Animal welfare is about the campaigns that demand the bigger space for animals and not neglecting their basic requirements.

Moving forward, there have been various acts enacted to address animal rights supporters and actually emphasize the condition of animals and upgrade them well.

The Animal Welfare Act was signed in the United States in 1966, The Humane Slaughter Act, or the human Methods of Livestock Slaughter Act in 1958, The PACT (Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture) Act in 2019 are some relevant ones. Talking about the organization, WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) also works for animal welfare and bans cruelty towards animals and works to safeguard endangered species. There came an establishment of World Animal Protection, also known as the World Society for Protection of Animals with a vision to have a world where animals could live free without suffering.

Seeing the significant efforts made towards animal welfare and voice towards animal rights, in October 2014, 46 countries and ministries of 17 countries supported the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare. The argument was made to have the UN working for animal rights instead of just the animal welfare. The world adapted UNEA Resolution against Illegal Trade in Wildlife in 2015 to improve the legislation, enforce the actions, and add sanctions for those doing wildlife trafficking. The declaration recognized animals as the one deserving huge respect and conservation efforts and focuses on the functioning of the World Organisation for Animal Health.

The declaration expressed the five major freedoms which are freedom from thirst, hunger, malnutrition,
freedom from threat, fear and distress,
freedom from discomfort,
freedom from injury, pain, and disease, and
freedom to express natural patterns of behavior.

As a whole, animal welfare has reached a recognized status where using animals for experimental methods, and replacing the living bodies with non-animal techniques are implemented to safeguard the safety of animals. Thus, the effort of animal welfare activities recognised some of the major issues like animal testing, wildlife conservation, living status, and treatment but the world is yet to achieve guaranteed animal rights. “Animal rights movements” are ongoing not only in the United States but in various countries but the universal declaration is not guaranteed for animal rights.

Currently, local legislation and criminal codes in various nations maintain animal welfare. Austria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark has already worked for animal sentience, anti-cruelty, and animal sufferings through local legislations.

So, let’s see the question below and infer from it that what is it actually asking you.

In this example question, you are given the two opinions opposing each other.

So, in this kind of essay, you have to discuss both sides. Or you can say that you have to write both arguments which are against and For the rights of humans. Moreover, you also have to write your opinion in the end.

Outline and Organizing the Animal Rights Essay in your IELTS Test Writing Section

You can organize this kind of essay by considering both of the arguments and then in the last paragraph you have to give your own opinion. Or you can also devote the whole last paragraph to your opinions and thoughts. Apart from this, you can also organize the essay in a way that you do agree with any one of the opinions. Let’s have a look at the example answer below. You will see that in the third paragraph the first sentence which is a topic sentence also, makes it very clear that the following paragraph will also be representing your opinion.

However, I don’t believe in the argument made above . So, this means that in two paragraphs you will cover the all necessary parts asked in the question.

One advantage of this kind of organization of the essay is that you explain everything in two paragraphs, even your opinion. You don’t have to write the extra paragraph to give your own opinion on the topic. However, if you write the extra paragraph then you also have to think of new ideas that may take your time. Moreover, there is a possibility that you end up repeating the same ideas you have discussed previously.

Give appropriate reasons in support of your answer and also include the examples relevant to the topic based on your knowledge or experience. You must write 250 words at least.

Model Answer

There are people who think that animals must have similar rights as that of humans and they must be treated with kindness. Whereas other people think that animals should be used for research and food. The following essay will deliberate both arguments.

Considering the animal’s exploitation, people think that it is adequate to do it. However, there are many reasons for this. Firstly, people believe that only humans are important to the earth and everything is made for them so that they can survive. This also means that humans should also use the animals to do experiments so new insights into the disease can be found. Furthermore, some people also believe that animals don’t feel any kind of loss or pain as we humans do. So, the usage of animals for the purpose of research and food is acceptable morally.

However, I don’t believe in the argument made above. It has been seen on many occasions through secret filming in the laboratories by groups of animal rights, that animals also feel pain like humans. They don’t like it when they are put in cages and are treated with cruel behavior for a long time. Additionally, it is also reported that a lot of research is carried for cosmetics and not for finding the cure for diseases which is not at all necessary. Finally, according to scientific research, humans can survive without eating meat and can have all of the nutrients from fruits and vegetables. Therefore, animals should not be treated harshly for any kind of need.

In conclusion, there are people who still believe that animal killing is ethical for the purpose of research and food. But I argue that there is a lot of evidence present to tell that this isn’t the case. Therefore, some important steps are needed to be taken towards animal rights.

Wild animals in cities can cause lots of problems. From baboons to squirrels, you'll learn a lot more about the problems some cities face in this article.

Before you read the story, do this exercise. It will help you to understand some of the more difficult words.

Recently, there have been many reports in newspapers and on TV about big animals coming into towns and cities. There have been bears in Vancouver parks, leopards on the streets of Mumbai and wild pigs in gardens in Berlin. What happens when big animals come into our cities? Is it a good thing or is it dangerous for us and the animals? Wild animals usually come into cities to look for food. In Cape Town, South Africa, baboons sometimes come into the suburbs. They eat fruit from gardens and go into people's kitchens and take food from cupboards and fridges! Baboons are strong animals and sometimes they scare children and fight with pet dogs. Many people do not like them, but the city can be dangerous for baboons too. Sometimes, baboons are hurt in car accidents and the sugar in human food can be very bad for their teeth. The city council in Cape Town has a team of Baboon Monitors. Their job is to find baboons in the city and take them back to the countryside. This makes the city safer for people and it is healthier for the baboons. The problem is that a lot of baboons will come back to the city to find food again. In Berlin in Germany, groups of wild pigs sometimes come into the city to look for food. Pigs have come into the city for hundreds of years, but now the winters are warmer, there are more pigs than in the past. Pigs eat flowers and plants and dig in gardens and parks in the city. They also walk in the street and cause traffic accidents. Some city residents like the pigs and give them food. But the city council is worried about the traffic accidents. They have told people to stop giving the pigs food and have put up fences to stop the pigs entering the city. In Moscow in Russia, there are 35,000 wild dogs. They live in parks, empty houses, markets and train stations. Some of the dogs were pets that people did not want so they left them on the streets. Others were born on the streets and have always lived there. Some dogs live alone and others live in packs (a pack is the name for a group of dogs). In 2010, scientists studied the dogs. They found some very interesting facts:

Packs have leaders. The leaders are the most intelligent dogs and not the biggest or strongest ones.
Dogs know that it is safer to cross the street with people and some dogs understand traffic lights.
Dogs have learnt that people give more food to small, cute dogs than to big ones. The cutest dogs in a pack wait on the street for people to give them food. When they have got some food, they share it with the other dogs in the pack.
Some dogs have started travelling on the Moscow underground trains.

What do the people in Moscow think of the dogs? A lot of people like them and are used to seeing them on the streets. They give the dogs food and water to drink. The winter in Moscow is very cold with lots of snow and temperatures of -10 ºC. It can be hard for dogs to survive but some city residents have built small huts for the dogs to live in during the winter. Mice, squirrels and birds often live in cities and survive. Some bigger animals like the dogs in Moscow can survive in the city too, with a little help from their human friends. For many big animals, cities are dangerous places and they need our help to return to the countryside.

The tables compare data regarding the temperatures and daylight hours in Mumbai and Moscow, during the same week in May, 2017.

Overall, it can be seen that Mumbai was significantly hotter than Moscow, however, Moscow experienced much longer daylight hours.

Regarding the temperatures of the two cities, Mumbai had consistently high temperatures, ranging between 33-34 o C at its peak, and only dropping to 29 o C at its low each day. In contrast, the temperature in Moscow was considerably lower, with the maximum varying between 8-13 o C, and the minimum ranging from 2-9 O C. Additionally, while Saturday was the hottest day in Mumbai, Sunday was the hottest day in Moscow.

As for the hours of daylight, the sun rose in Mumbai every day at 6.00 am, and set between 7.05pm and 7.15pm. However, Moscow received a lot more daylight hours, with the sun rising between 4.05am and 4.15am each day, and setting at 10pm each of the recorded days. Additionally, Saturday had the longest amount of daylight hours in both cities.

Nowadays, sports is a big business with high earnings for professional sports people and companies involved both financially and other ways. Is this a positive or negative development for sports?

These days, professional athletes can earn a great deal of money as sports have become a lucrative business. Furthermore, this business is supported by many companies in various ways, including sponsorships and so forth. From my perspective, this is more of a positive development.

To begin with, paying a big amount of money to sports people can be considered beneficial to sports. When these people find their career rewarding enough in terms of earnings, they are more likely to have greater motivation to devote hard work and time to their training. As a result, these athletes are able to enhance their performance in competition and gain more medals for themselves or for their own country. In Brazil, sports have become an industry that receives huge investments from companies like Wilkes and Banco. Brazilian footballers are paid millions of dollars a year just to bring victory to their country, explaining why this nation has won so many championships.

It is also advantageous for sports when businesses pour a lot of money and support into the industry. Since HAGL, a prosperous business group in Vietnam, allocated billions of Vietnam Dong to the construction of a sports institute to provide young football players with professional training , the Vietnamese national football team has become much stronger. Being well-trained, they now have a better chance of winning more championships and awards than their predecessors . Other companies in Vietnam also use images of popular sports idols in advertisements on social media for another purpose. Aiming at all walks of life, they inspire people to have a greater passion for sports, potentially increasing the number of talented athletes.

In conclusion, sport can benefit a great deal from becoming a business as it will help to improve the popularity of playing sport and leading a healthy lifestyle , while professional athletes will have more financial incentives to improve their performance.

Sample essay on my favorite city Moscow

It was my first trip to Moscow and before going to Moscow I have consulted about this city with my advisor. He told me that Moscow is a very expensive city having hotel rooms for about $1000 and $12 coffees.

Moscow’s Airports:

There are three international airports in Moscow that are Domodedovo, Vnukovo and the third one is Sheremetyevo. All of them are constructed outside the Moscow.

Accommodation:

The next thing after landing over the airport is the issue of accommodation. Where should I go to stay was the first question in my mind? But thanks to my advisor who was with me throughout the whole journey. He took me to the Godzilla’s Hostel which is the oldest and the largest hostel of the city. You will get this hostel in the historical center. I found this area with numerous cafes which were inexpensive and that was the good news for me. We both found this place quite good for us because it has also a metro located station at the roadside.

Transportation System:

This city has the best transport system in the whole world. This big town has a little bit cold weather in winter and I along with my advisor decided to walk through the streets in this chilly weather. But soon we got to know that Moscow metro is more likely to be traveled in the city. For one ride and two rides, Moscow’s metro cost $0.80 for 50 rubles and $1.60 for 100 rubles. There was also an option of 32 rubles in one ride for $0.50. This option is known as Troika card. But we both traveled into two rides of 100 rubles.

Free Tour of Sightseeing:

As you know that Moscow one of the most expensive world’s city, I and my advisor wanted to visit Moscow in as less budget as possible. So free tour to Moscow is a good choice for us. What does it offer? Walking free tours in the city center and daily we left our hostel room and depart from there 10:45 in the morning to visit the Moscow city in the metro. It took two and a half an hour to visit various landmarks etc.

Next amazing option you can get there is sightseeing bus of Moscow which charges $12.50 for one day route.

Moscow’s Culture:

To know about the culture of Moscow, we both entered into the museum. There are so many museums, exhibitions and different type of galleries in the city. Though the prices of the museums are different from one another but many museums has a free entry every month’s third Thursday.

Well, Moscow has many standard restaurants which are enough expensive to empty your pockets but it doesn’t mean that you can’t do fine dining within your budget. You will have hundreds of dishes in The Grable Chain restaurant’s buffet.

We both went to Grable restaurant and had marinated mushrooms, salted herring, and pork shashlik. We ate a delicious food within our budget.

We stayed in Moscow for about 3 days and then we are left with empty pockets except we have the money to come back to our city. So we decided that it is now the time to say goodbye to Moscow and come back to our home sweet home.
