15 tips on how to make a really good presentation at your event

When you hold a business event, you usually make some kind of presentation. We have put together a few tricks for how you can succeed and perhaps relieve a little of the stress that can arise. Planning and preparation are key.

Regardless of whether you are going to do it in front of hundreds of people, or just a few colleagues, or at work, you must prepare yourself for the presentation you will be giving. If you want to achieve the best results possible and really impress, you need to plan and prepare yourself, no matter if it is the first time you are giving a presentation or if you do it every day.

Then there are the nerves….there is apparently a survey that shows American CEOs are more afraid of speaking in front of people than they are of death. The brain and our imagination say that it is a matter of life and death. But even if you hesitate, show the wrong picture, sweat, lose yourself or your voice trembles, you can be quite sure that there will be a new day tomorrow. And what is HUGE in your mind is of no consequence at all to those who are listening.

1. Preparation is key

When you start planning your presentation you need to know who you are going to be speaking to – how many will be there? What do they know about the subject? Is attendance at the presentation voluntary or have they been ordered to listen to you? In that case you may need to make the presentation more casual and not too heavy. Also, think about what questions the audience may ask so you can incorporate that information in the presentation. Bounce ideas around with a colleague or friend – ”what would you ask about this?”

2. Set a goal for the presentation

When you speak at your event, dealer meeting or seminar, for example, you hopefully have a goal for it. How can your speech or lecture serve this goal? What added value can you give your audience?

Do you have five minutes or five hours? The difference can be enormous and therefore you must plan your entire presentation in line with that. What do you want to convey during your time “on stage”? Short and concise is better than too long. A long-winded presentation will kill the whole purpose of why you are speaking.

4. The content should be interesting and relevant

Does anything seem unnecessary? Get rid of it immediately! Unnecessary information takes away the focus from that which is important and the audience can miss what you really want to convey. The purpose of the presentation must be clear.

Speak slowly and clearly. Make sure that the audience is alert and take in what you say. Take breaks – both for your own sake and for those who are listening. Speak for a maximum of 45 minutes, then take a break if you need to speak any longer.

6. Practice makes perfect

Practice as much as possible so you do not have to rely on your notes. The presentation will be better if you can speak more freely. Run through your presentation several times to see that everything works. Both your material and the technology.

7. Be proud of your presentation.

If you show commitment and enthusiasm, this will usually spread to the audience. Smile and be happy when you present your material. But see point 15, as well.

8. Feedback

After completing the presentation, it can be good to make use of feedback of some kind. Ask a colleague who is attending the presentation to come up with constructive criticism afterwards – was everything good or is there anything you can improve for the next time? Or just enjoy the fact that you did it and move on.

9. PowerPoint as an aid

PowerPoint is a good aid to make use of when giving a presentation. “Damn PowerPoint”, say some, but don’t get caught up in detailed flow charts or 50 points on a page. Don’t. It’s better to have a picture that you talk around. There is other support, such as Prezi, a little cooler, a little more advanced.

10. Focus on what’s most important

The most common error many people make is to fill their PowerPoint presentations with far too much information on every slide. Such a presentation should not show everything. It should be an aid to enable you to talk freely while still having a few main points to look at for help. It also helps the audience find the most important things in your presentation.

11. Everything in moderation

Try to keep to as many points/text as each slide allows. There are pre-installed fonts and sizes for headings and the body of the text. If you stick to these, that is to say that the text does not start to shrink in size, this is a good guideline on how much information each slide should contain. Usually just a few points are enough.

12. Use images

To activate the two halves of the brain, it is important to have a good balance between the flow of text and images in the presentation. This is the best way to get your audience to understand everything. Make sure not to have more than three slides in a row with just text and facts. If possible, mix images and text on the same slides.

13. …But not just any images

Just because there should be images, it doesn’t mean they can be any image whatsoever. You can remove any Clipart image straight away. Only relevant images should be included, otherwise you may as well do without them. Decorative images serve no function.

14. Templates

Many companies have created their own templates for PowerPoint. If these exist – use them.  Otherwise you should select as simple a template as possible. What you want to get across is your message, not how cool a presentation you can show off.

Those are a few tricks that hopefully can help you get started on your preparations and in the end will result in a great presentation that you can be proud of for a long time to come. Good luck!

15. Don’t take yourself too seriously

See the introduction. Are you sick with nerves? It is quite normal. Start by saying that, then the pressure will be relieved. Don’t fall into the “Now I’m going to give everyone an energy boost and not show that I’m in the least nervous” trap .

Create videos that drive action

Activate your audience with impactful, on-brand videos. Create them simply and collaboratively with Biteable.

Video presentation examples

Video presentations are our specialty at Biteable. We love them because they’re the most visually appealing and memorable way to communicate.

1. Animated characters

Our first presentation example is a business explainer video from Biteable that uses animated characters. The friendly and modern style makes this the perfect presentation for engaging your audience.

Bonus template:  Need a business video presentation that reflects the beautiful diversity of your customers or team? Use  Biteable’s workplace scenes . You can change the skin tone and hair color for any of the animated characters.

2. Conference video

Videos are also ideal solutions for events (e.g. trade shows) where they can be looped to play constantly while you attend to more important things like talking to people and handing out free cheese samples.

For this event presentation sample below, we used bright colours, stock footage, and messaging that reflects the brand and values of the company. All these elements work together to draw the attention of passers-by.

For a huge selection of video presentation templates, take a look at our  template gallery .

Business PowerPoint presentation examples

Striking fear into the hearts of the workplace since 1987, PowerPoint is synonymous with bland, boring presentations that feel more like an endurance test than a learning opportunity. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Check out these anything-but-boring business PowerPoint presentation examples.

3. Design pointers

This PowerPoint presentation takes a tongue-in-cheek look at how the speakers and users of PowerPoint are the problem, not the software itself.

Even at a hefty 61 slides, the vintage theme, appealing colors, and engaging content keep the viewer interested. It delivers useful and actionable tips on creating a better experience for your audience.

Pixar, as you’d expect, redefines the meaning of PowerPoint in their “22 Rules for Phenomenal Storytelling”. The character silhouettes are instantly recognizable and tie firmly to the Pixar brand. The bright colour palettes are carefully chosen to highlight the content of each slide.

This presentation is a good length, delivering one message per slide, making it easy for an audience to take notes and retain the information.

Google slides examples

If you’re in business, chances are you’ll have come across  slide decks . Much like a deck of cards, each slide plays a key part in the overall ‘deck’, creating a well-rounded presentation.

If you need to inform your team, present findings, or outline a new strategy, slides are one of the most effective ways to do this.

Google Slides is one of the best ways to create a slide deck right now. It’s easy to use and has built-in design tools that integrate with Adobe, Lucidchart, and more. The best part — it’s free!

5. Teacher education

Here’s a slide deck that was created to educate teachers on how to use Google Slides effectively in a classroom. At first glance it seems stuffy and businessy, but if you look closer it’s apparent the creator knows his audience well, throwing in some teacher-friendly content that’s bound to get a smile.

The slides give walkthrough screenshots and practical advice on the different ways teachers can use the software to make their lives that little bit easier and educate their students at the same time.

6. Charity awareness raiser

This next Google slide deck is designed to raise awareness for an animal shelter. It has simple, clear messaging, and makes use of the furry friends it rescues to tug on heartstrings and encourage donations and adoptions from its audience.

Pro tip: Creating a presentation is exciting but also a little daunting. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed — especially if the success of your business or nonprofit depends on it.

Prezi presentation examples

If you haven’t come across  Prezi , it’s a great alternative to using static slides. Sitting somewhere between slides and a video presentation, it allows you to import other content and add motion to create a more engaging viewer experience.

7. Red Bull event recap

This Prezi was created to document the Red Bull stratosphere freefall stunt a few years ago. It neatly captures all the things that Prezi is capable of, including video inserts and the zoom effect, which gives an animated, almost 3D effect to what would otherwise be still images.

Prezi has annual awards for the best examples of presentations over the year. This next example is one of the 2018 winners. It was made to highlight a new Logitech tool.

8. Logitech Spotlight launch

What stands out here are the juicy colors, bold imagery, and the way the designer has used Prezi to its full extent, including rotations, panning, fades, and a full zoom out to finish the presentation.

Sales presentation examples

If you’re stuck for ideas for your sales presentation, step right this way and check out this video template we made for you.

9. Sales enablement video presentation

In today’s fast-paced sales environment, you need a way to make your sales enablement presentations memorable and engaging for busy reps.  Sales enablement videos  are just the ticket. Use this video presentation template the next time you need to present on your metrics.

10. Zuroa sales deck

If you’re after a sales deck, you can’t go past this example from Zuora. What makes it great? It begins by introducing the worldwide shift in the way consumers are shopping. It’s a global phenomenon, and something we can all relate to.

It then weaves a compelling story about how the subscription model is changing the face of daily life for everyone. Metrics and testimonials from well-known CEOs and executives are included for some slamming social proof to boost the sales message.

Pitch presentation examples

Pitch decks are used to give an overview of business plans, and are usually presented during meetings with customers, investors, or potential partners.

11. Uber pitch deck

This is Uber’s original pitch deck, which (apart from looking a teensy bit dated) gives an excellent overview of their business model and clearly shows how they intended to disrupt a traditional industry and provide a better service to people. Right now, you’re probably very grateful that this pitch presentation was a winner.

You can make your own pitch deck with Biteable, or start with one of our  video templates  to make something a little more memorable.

12. Video pitch template

This video pitch presentation clearly speaks to the pains of everyone who needs to commute and find parking. It then provides the solution with its app that makes parking a breeze.

The video also introduces the key team members, their business strategy, and what they’re hoping to raise in funding. It’s a simple, clear pitch that positions the company as a key solution to a growing, worldwide problem. It’s compelling and convincing, as a good presentation should be.

13. Fyre Festival pitch deck

The most epic example of a recent pitch deck is this one for Fyre Festival – the greatest event that never happened. Marvel at its persuasion, gasp at the opportunity of being part of the cultural experience of the decade, cringe as everything goes from bad to worse.

Despite the very public outcome, this is a masterclass in how to create hype and get funding with your pitch deck using beautiful imagery, beautiful people, and beautiful promises of riches and fame.

Business presentation examples

Need to get the right message out to the right people? Business presentations can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you.

Simply press play and let your video do the talking. No fumbling your words and sweating buckets in front of those potential clients, just you being cool as a cucumber while your presentation does the talking.

Check out two of our popular templates that you can use as a starting point for your own presentations. While they’re business-minded, they’re definitely not boring.

14. Business intro template

Modern graphics, animations, and upbeat soundtracks keep your prospects engaged as they learn about your business, your team, your values, and how you can help them.

15. Business explainer template

Research presentation examples.

When you’re giving a more technical presentation such as research findings, you need to strike the perfect balance between informing your audience and making sure they stay awake.

As a rule, slides are more effective for research presentations, as they are used to support the speaker’s knowledge rather can capture every small detail on screen.

With often dry, complex, and technical subject matter, there can be a temptation for presentations to follow suit. Use images instead of walls of text, and keep things as easy to follow as possible.

16. TrackMaven research deck

TrackMaven uses their endearing mascot to lighten up this data-heavy slide deck. The graphs help to bring life to their findings, and they ensure to only have one bite-size takeaway per slide so that viewers can easily take notes.

17. Wearable tech research report

Obviously, research can get very researchy and there’s not a lot to be done about it. This slide deck below lays out a ton of in-depth information but breaks it up well with quotes, diagrams, and interesting facts to keep viewers engaged while it delivers its findings on wearable technology.

Team presentation examples

Motivating your team can be a challenge at the best of times, especially when you need to gather them together for….another presentation!

18. Team update template

We created this presentation template as an example of how to engage your team. In this case, it’s for an internal product launch. Using colorful animation and engaging pacing, this video presentation is much better than a static PowerPoint, right?

19. Officevibe collaboration explainer

This short slide deck is a presentation designed to increase awareness of the problems of a disengaged team. Bright colors and relevant images combine with facts and figures that compel viewers to click through to a download to learn more about helping their teams succeed.

Recruitment presentation examples

Recruiting the right people can be a challenge. Presentations can help display your team and your business by painting a dynamic picture of what it’s like to work with you.

Videos and animated slides let you capture the essence of your brand and workplace so the right employees can find you.

20. Company culture explainer

If you’re a recruitment agency, your challenge is to stand out from the hundreds of other agencies in the marketplace.

21. Kaizen culture

Showcasing your agency using a slide deck can give employers and employees a feel for doing business with you. Kaizen clearly displays its credentials and highlights its brand values and personality here (and also its appreciation of the coffee bean).

Explainer presentation examples

Got some explaining to do? Using an explainer video is the ideal way to showcase products that are technical, digital, or otherwise too difficult to explain with still images and text.

Explainer videos help you present the features and values of your product in an engaging way that speaks to your ideal audience and promotes your brand at the same time.

22. Product explainer template

23. lucidchart explainer.

Lucidchart does a stellar job of using explainer videos for their software. Their series of explainers-within-explainers entertains the viewer with cute imagery and an endearing brand voice. At the same time, the video is educating its audience on how to use the actual product. We (almost) guarantee you’ll have more love for spiders after watching this one.

Delivering a successful event presentation

While not every job may require it, chances are high that you’ll be asked to give a presentation at some point in time. This exercise can involve nothing more complicated than sitting at a desk with a coworker or the more conventional model of having to stand in front of many partners or coworkers in a board room. No matter the situation, giving a presentation that engages the audience can be challenging.

In this article, we’ll look at the pointers you need to consider if you want your event presentation PPT to be successful.

event presenting

The 4 Ps of delivering an effective presentation for event

The design has always been a crucial component of the presentation process as a whole. This is because delivering a strong event presentation without a solid foundation is quite a difficult undertaking. You must always consider delivery as a separate form of art and be mindful of your intonation and articulation.

Whether that’s an event proposal presentation or an event strategy presentation, the goal must be to keep your audience engaged from start to finish. Think of some outstanding presentations you’ve seen in the past. Think about the compelling features of these presentations and the reasons they were effective. Then try to copy those features while you create your own presentation.

Start your PowerPoint with a simple outline. What are the specific details that must be included? What are the top three points that you want your audience to remember? Think about the presentation’s arrangement as well. Should the information be presented alphabetically from A to Z or rearranged in any other way? For example, there are occasions when beginning at the conclusion may make your audience more interested.

Brevity must not be overlooked once you feel ready to put together the actual presentation of event. Regardless of whether you’re using visuals, remember that every type of briefing requires the same thing. So, get the words down first using a PowerPoint or any other software.

Consider adding a headline with three to four points per line. Anything more than that runs the danger of losing your audience’s interest. Choose between an interactive presentation or a strictly lecturing format. Asking questions and moving around the room might also help keep the audience engaged.

If you’re giving a presentation to a smaller group of people who don’t know one another, try to start with a quick introduction or an icebreaker (e.g., a joke, fact, or a rhetorical question) to make sure everyone is at ease before the presentation actually begins.

When it comes to visuals, simplicity is key. No matter how far back they are seated, your listeners should be able to read everything that is being displayed on the screen. Therefore, you have to choose a bold font and color scheme that will stand out against your chosen background. Also, ensure that the audience is paying attention to you and not simply reading slides.

Any backdrops or visuals you employ should improve the quality of your event presentations rather than cause confusion in the audience. Your color selection is similarly important because you might need to consider your company’s color palette.

Your content must be readable as well. According to the experts of our pitch deck design service , “noisy” colors will not necessarily make people pay attention to your presentation. In most cases, they are more likely to have the opposite effect.

It’s true that some individuals are naturally gifted with the capacity to deliver exceptional presentations, and even a virtual event presentation doesn’t faze them. These people can easily speak in large rooms, in a variety of tones, and in front of large audiences. Many others, however, find that it takes a lot of practice in addition to rounds of talking to oneself to release the tension.

If you’re giving a presentation to a small group of people in a tiny space, you don’t need to worry as much about projection, but you still need to consider how you’d maintain audience engagement, just as you would with a huge group. Pacing back and forth might be annoying, so try to keep your audience’s interest with some movement.

8 more pointers to consider when giving a PowerPoint presentation for event planning or another occasion

1. focus on what’s important.

The most frequent mistake most people make is including way too much information on each slide of their event PowerPoint presentations. This kind of presentation shouldn’t include every detail. It ought to be a tool that lets you talk freely while giving you a few key ideas to consider. It also aids the audience in locating the key points of your presentation.

2. Minimize the “shop talk”

An event speaker should be a professional in their field, but it does not necessarily mean the audience must be on the same page. Too much “shop talk” or industry jargon might alienate and confuse the audience.

3. Harness technology

Technology is quite helpful when it comes to keeping any audience interested. Technology lets participants be part of the experience through polls and other interactive tools. However, a speaker should always have a backup strategy in the case of uncooperative technology.

4. Less is always more

Have you ever attended an event planning presentation only to find yourself checking your watch so frequently that it seemed like time was standing still? This is exactly how it feels when a speaker is on stage for much too long. Therefore, be mindful of the time and aim for 45 minutes at max.

5. Connect with your audience

It’s common not to consider the audience when you first begin public speaking. You’ve worked with the content on your own for a considerable time, but you’re no longer alone. So always remember to keep an eye on your audience and make an effort to maintain that throughout your presentation.

6. Don’t ad-lib too much

Derailing from the script is entertaining. Playing off the audience undoubtedly keeps a presentation interesting, but knowing when to stick to what you know is also crucial. Yes, ad-libbing gives room for the unexpected. However, it is the quickest way to blow a presentation off course.

7. Be accessible

Attendees at speaking sessions typically want more information than what the presenter provides upfront. That is why a good presenter should be accessible to the audience in a variety of ways. They should not be afraid to go into further detail and address any queries or worries the audience might have.

The ideal opportunity to interact with the audience is to hold a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.

8. Have fun with it

The most charismatic public speakers look like they enjoy giving speeches, and you can look that way too. Go off-course while giving your presentation. Stop. Adjust your body language to make eye contact with someone who is actually listening to what you are saying. Do or say something impromptu to change the rhythm and tone of the conversation, precisely as you would during a normal conversation.

Now that you know how to make an event proposal presentation, take a look at some good examples below and get inspired!

Final thoughts

The preparation and delivery of effective event presentations is a skill that involves time and practice to master. Therefore, practice as much as you can so you don’t have to rely on notes and can speak more freely. Think about what you’ve learned from past effective presentations you’ve had a chance to attend, and try to put those aspects into practice on your own.

Try to be concise, clearly state the main points, look your audience straight in the eyes, smile, and ask follow-up questions to keep your audience engaged. Remember, presenting less information more effectively will help set the stage for you as a presenter and build rapport with your audience.

Social Tables

Looking for an event planning ppt?

1. 19 event trends for 2019.

An annual Social Tables tradition, our event trends report predicts the biggest changes to hit both planners and venues in the year ahead. This year, Social Tables General Manager Dan  Berger teamed up with EventMB’s Julius Solaris to take a look into the crystal ball, delivering these very slides in a much-anticipated webinar . (Don’t want to watch? We used the content to create an event trends blog post too!)

3 Big Takeaways

  • Unique venues will be all the rage – A whopping majority (92.3%) of event professionals believe that meetings are more  likely to be booked outside of a hotel than ever.
  • Bleisure will be bigger than ever – Citing statistics from Destination International, Berger reports that more and more attendees are looking at conferences and tradeshows as an excuse for leisure travel.
  • Mid-size cities will gain appeal as meeting destinations – Continued investment in infrastructure and shifting attendee desires will allow midsize cities to slice off a bigger piece of the meetings pie.

19 Trends Shacking Up Events in 2019

2. Cvent Global Planner Sourcing Infographic

While it’s not an event management ppt in the traditional sense, this infographic from Cvent’s Global Planner Sourcing Report packs as much important information into an infographic as you’ll find in any slideshare. Based on an analysis of survey responses from 2,100+ planners, the infographic dives into the ins and outs of venue sourcing and the forces that drive sourcing behavior.

  • Most planners are sourcing for their companies – 68% of respondents were internal meeting planners sourcing venues for their companies ” as opposed to event planning companies, association planners, or SMERF planners.
  • The majority of planners are millennials – A whopping 49% of respondents were between 18-34 years old, highlighting the generational shift that has occurred in our industry.
  • Planners are tasked with planning more meetings – 60% of respondents reported planning more meetings in the year ahead.

3. 21 Ways to Boost Your Event

Author and TEDx speaker Cyriel Kortleven breaks down a number of ways that planners and presenters can create event concepts that provide engaging and inspiring experiences. Use these 21 ideas to rethink the way you’re presenting content and communicating with attendees.

  • Create personalized experiences through interactive formats – Formats like an unconference can put the reins in attendees’ hands, allowing them to steer the agenda in directions that interest them most.
  • Border topics can break up the monotony – While most industries have their usual speakers, speakers on topics that border the industry allow attendees to forge enlightening connections between topics.
  • Keep your audience on their toes – Build in plenty of surprises that will disrupt audience expectations and capture attention.

4. Meetings in 2028: Predictions for the Future

Our very own Dan Berger loves looking to the future of the events. In this presentation created for WEC MPI, Dan makes some bold predictions for what events will look like a decade from now. Along the way, he covers some of the many global trends trends that will ultimately materialize corresponding shifts in meetings industry trends as well.

  • New ways to travel will change behavior – As homesharing adds inventory at every corner of the globe and autonomous vehicle enhance transportation, remote destinations will start to compete with traditional favorites.
  • AI will make planning & attending events even better – AI promises benefits for the industry such as higher ROI via less serendipity and sophisticated algorithms that match event objectives with ideal venues.
  • The DNA of events will change as face time becomes more precious – Influencer marketing will play a huge role in driving attendance as a result, while festivilized experiences become the new standard for large events.

5. Increasing Conference Collaboration

A self-titled Chief Epiphany Officer, Jeff Hurt has created some incredible presentations over the years when it comes to attendee education and engagement. In this event planning presentation, Jeff lays out how conferences can shift from a market-share environment to a mind-share experience, spurring increased collaboration among participants.

  • The language we use is important – Language shapes the way we think about working as one ” whether it’s adding words like co-create to our lexicon or making the slight shift from collaboration to collaborative intelligence.
  • The market-share mentality places value on shortage – In this mindset, we place value on objects according to their scarcity and create a have/have-not binary. This binarical view leads to a system where one person is always definitely right and the other definitely wrong.
  • The mind-share mentality places value on relationships – Jeff argues that in a system of thinking where ideas hold more value than things, we move away from the transactional nature of how usually work together.

6. How to Choose a Purposeful Meeting Destination

At the heart of experience creation is a meeting destination that maps beautifully back to the purpose of the event at hand. But just how does one pick the perfect destination? Dan argues that in the modern world of event management, the age-old formula of  rates, dates, and space leaves out an all-too-important fourth element.

3 Big Takeaways:

  • A destination operates on three levels – When we talk about a destination, we’re referring to the city that hosts the events, the venue the event takes place in, and the setup of the space within the venue.
  • We also need to add the idea of place – Place is everything that makes a destination unique: culture, history, expertise, knowledge economies, people, perception, and more.
  • Place needs to map to purpose – The overall event purpose and objective should have a cohesive relationship with all of the elements that make up the idea of place. (i.e. the meeting destination should be instrumental in bringing the purpose to fruition on a deeper level.)

Looking for an event marketing ppt?

1. the definitive guide to event marketing.

As event marketing continues to grow its foothold in the playbook of countless brands, this guide is more relevant than ever. It does a great job serving as a sort-of Event Marketing 101 by making the case for event marketing and laying out the keys to success across channels and down the funnel ” from leveraging social networks to smart strategies for lead nurture and scoring.

  • Segmentation is the key – No matter what your promotion mix, your event marketing strategy won’t have success without smart segmentation that buckets users into actionable personas.
  • People attend a company’s event for face time with the brand – In the same way that the importance of face-to-face interactions is growing, users and consumers are looking to have meaningful interactions with brands. (Leverage your brand personality!)
  • Events don’t have to be physical events – Webinars and other virtual events can be extremely effective amongst attendees while requiring far less resources to pull off.

2. 5 Must Do’s to Increase Attendance at Your Next Meeting

These slides from a DMAI (Destination Marketing Association International) webinar capture much of the key information from their presentation. While the content is crafted for CVBs to promote their destinations, event marketers can use nearly all of these insights and apply them to a successful event promotion strategy. There are also some great ideas for how event teams and CVBs can work together more closely and impactfully.

  • Success means a strong understanding of attendee interests – Event marketers should leverage user insights to create attendee personas, thus allowing them to identify specific tactics that work at a more targeted level.
  • Targeted tactics should focus on three elements – The relevancy of the messaging to the persona, the timing of the message, and the overall channel mix should form the foundation for any targeted promotion.
  • Focus on reducing friction – From the event website all the way on down, marketers need to reduce friction by making information easy to find and engage with.

Bring successful events to life, no stress

3. 8 social media trends to watch in 2019.

From targeted ads to user-generated content and influencer campaigns, social media is more than likely a huge part of your marketing mix. In this event marketing presentation, Arik Hanson ” a well-known social media consultant to Fortune 500 companies ” predicts the eight most important trends to keep an eye on across platforms.

  • Instagram will become the preferred social home base for brands – The headline says it all, but Arik also goes on to point out the growing importance of Instagram stories ” something more event marketers should throw in the mix.
  • Engagement will begin to fade as a key metric – Engagement rates on Facebook are plummeting, but Arik believes that marketers shouldn’t fret. It’s not just your event ” it’s happening across the board and across industries!
  • Influencer marketing will refine itself – Influencer marketing will shift to a focus on influencers who are more credible, while becoming less episodic through more long-term influencer strategies and engagement.

4. Mary Meeker’s Internet Trends Report

An annual tradition praised and relied upon in countless industries, Mary Meeker’s Internet Trends Report holds invaluable insight into shifting internet behaviors. It’s a must-scroll for any marketer, but it’s PACKED with information that will take a little extra elbow grease to delve through. It also requires a little imagination to take high-level trends and map them back to granular marketing tactics  ” easier said than done sometimes.

  • Personalization is becoming the new norm – Whereas personalization has until now been a true marketing differentiator, the sophisticated ways in which companies are using increased data is turning it into an expectation.
  • Uber & Airbnb are making cities accessible for less – Rideshare and homeshare apps are driving down the costs of transportation and accommodation, thus making travel less of a barrier to entry.
  • Consumers are willing to trade information for clear personal benefit – With consumers willing to trade data for deals, how can you get creative with your event marketing to capitalize? Also, how can you use that data to create a more personalized, more satisfying experience for prospects and attendees?

You’ve learned¦now apply that knowledge!

Whether you’re a planner or marketer, hopefully you’ve found an event management ppt in this list that can help you take your game to the next level. Because one thing’s for sure: In our industry, if you’re not on top of the newest info, you might just become old news.

It's like preparing for anything that might happen and ensuring everyone has a great time!

What are the 7 stages of event planning?

The seven stages of event planning are:

  • Research and Conceptualization: Shape the event's purpose and concept, aligning it with the target audience and goals.

  • Execution and Management: Oversee setup, manage speakers/performers, and ensure smooth event flow.
  • Evaluation and Follow-Up: Analyze event success, gather feedback, and apply insights for future improvements.

What to do for event planning?

To effectively plan an event, follow these essential steps:

  • Define Goals: Clearly outline the event's purpose and objectives.
  • Set Budget: Determine available funds and allocate them wisely.
  • Choose Date and Venue: Select a suitable date and location.
  • Create a Timeline: Develop a schedule with tasks and deadlines.

  • Coordinate Details: Oversee setup and ensure everything is ready.
  • Execute: Manage the event, address issues, and keep things on track.
  • Gather Feedback: Collect input from participants for future improvement.
  • Follow Up: Express gratitude, share event highlights, and analyze outcomes

These steps guide successful event planning, ensuring a memorable and well-executed experience.

What is the role of event planner?

The role of an event planner is to coordinate and manage all aspects of an event, from concept to execution, ensuring it runs smoothly and meets the client's objectives. It includes budgeting, venue selection, logistics, program design, vendor coordination, promotion, on-site management, and post-event evaluation. How to Plan Event Planner Presentations that Inspire

presentation about event

Your incredible abilities and creativity as an event planner won’t matter if you can’t land new clients . And sometimes, even the savviest event professionals struggle with some of the sales aspects of the business. One area of improvement you can explore is your presentation. And there are tips to know best practices to leverage when it comes to presenting your proposal. Here’s how to strategize and plan for your next big client meeting, so you can dazzle your prospect with an inspirational and wow-factor-infused presentation.

Carefully Plan Your Pitch

What you have to offer needs to address your potential client’s precise pain points. And you’ll have uncovered these pains during your discovery conversations prior to this official presentation meeting. To develop a strong outline for your presentation, lead with information you gathered from them and structure working with you as the only obvious solution.

Key Takeaway: The presentation should be all about them, not you. The cover or opening slide should have their logo and details. Make sure every supporting slide or page speaks to the client.

Create a Presentation Experience

Much like you plan for an event experience, you should make sitting through your presentation its own unique experience. Use visuals to tell your story and help clients envision what event elements you can create. The human brain will process visual data 60,000 times faster than text alone. And it’s the visual and creative aesthetics of your presentation that will engage your client.

Key Takeaway: Get just as creative about your presentation as you would with planning the event itself. Clients will be sold on big ideas, stories, and visuals.

Make Your Presentation Conversational

Be mindful as you draft your presentation language that this meeting is intended to be a conversation. Use text and incorporate slides that encourage clients to ask questions and respond to your presented information. Keep the conversation open, so you can address sticking points and maintain dialogue as you go.

Key Takeaway: The presentation should showcase your itinerary, allowing you to control the conversation. But remember, it’s a conversation, meaning you need elements of pause, allowing your clients to respond.

Transparency in the Details

Avoid fine print in your presentation. Your clients will need to clearly understand the value you have to offer in your event planning services, your timelines to deliver the momentous experience and your anticipated costs. Dedicate a slide to explaining your costs and vendor budgets. Create a visual outlining your communication strategy during the planning, including an accountability timeline you’ll both follow.

Key Takeaway: Transparency builds trust. Be upfront with your clients about anticipated challenges, expected costs, and realistic timelines.

Position Your Services As the Homerun

Toward the end of your presentation, but before the call to action slide, you’ll want to spend a few minutes talking about your event planning services. Demonstrate your business as the homerun solution, precisely positioned to meet your client’s every need and expectation. Use proof points to back up your claims, too, including testimonials and past event data. This will put your client at ease, knowing that partnering with you for their upcoming event is the absolute best decision they can make.

Key Takeaway: Show your clients what makes you unique and back it up with proof, showcasing you’re the best-fit event planner for the job.

A Clear Call to Action Step

Don’t presume your potential clients know what you want them to do next. Reserve the final slide or portion of your presentation as the call to action. Position this step as an action verb, positively reinforcing the decision to work with you. Make it easy to take the final step by using language like, “if ABC sounds incredible, then all you need to do is XYZ.” This is your chance to address any final questions or concerns.

Key Takeaway: Don’t forget to ask for the business and instruct your client what it is you want them to do next.

As a New York event planner, you know how to dazzle clients with your event experiences. Bring the same level of enthusiasm, organization, and intention to your presentation skills, too. And start closing more deals!

2024 BMW Championship prize money, purse: Payouts from $20M pool for second FedEx Cup Playoffs event

Fifty players vie for their piece of the penultimate prize in the pga tour's postseason.

keegan-bradley-bmw-trophy-g.jpg

The FedEx Cup Playoffs field was trimmed from 70 to 50 players, but the prize pool remained the same for the second leg. The BMW Championship divded up $20 million among those who teed it up this week at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. The winner, Keegan Bradley, not only took home $3.6 million but better positioned himself for additional riches ahead of next week's Tour Championship.

Hideki Matsuyama claimed the first playoff event of the season and climbed to third in the FedEx Cup standings, but it only accounted for his second-largest paycheck of the year; he claimed $4 million for his win at the Genesis Invitational. (Matsuyama ultimately  withdrew from this event due to a lower-back injury.)

Scottie Scheffler has cashed a winner's check on six separate occasions on the PGA Tour; he is approaching $30 million earned this season and north of $71 million in his career. In fact, with his most recent finish at the St. Jude Championship, Scheffler surged inside the top five in career earnings on the PGA Tour now trailing only Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson.

The BMW Championship falls in line with the signature events from the regular season when it comes to the winner's share, but those who finish further down the leaderboard will receive an increased amount of money. Everyone inside the top 40 of the 50-man field will clear six figures with those inside the top 20 clearing more than $250,000.

Here are your winners from the biggest events this season on the PGA Tour:

  • The Sentry:  Chris Kirk ($3.6 million)
  • Pebble Beach Pro Am:  Wyndham Clark ($3.6 million)
  • Genesis Invitational:  Hideki Matsuyama ($4 million)
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational:  Scottie Scheffler ($4 million)
  • The Players Championship: Scottie Scheffler ($4.5 million)
  • RBC Heritage:  Scottie Scheffler ($3.6 million)
  • Wells Fargo Championship:  Rory McIlroy ($3.6 million)
  • The Memorial Tournament:  Scottie Scheffler ($4 million)
  • Travelers Championship:  Scottie Scheffler ($3.6 million)
  • St. Jude Championship: Hideki Matsuyama ($3.6 million)
  • BMW Championship: Keegan Bradley ($3.6 million)

Let's take a look at the payout list for the 50 players, detailed for the top 10, who were in attendance at the 2024 BMW Championship.

Fund-Raiser for Jan. 6 Defendants Will Be Held at Trump’s Golf Club

Mr. Trump is said to not be attending the event, although an invitation lists him as an “invited guest speaker.” It will be held two months before Election Day.

A nonprofit organization that supports people charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol is set to hold a legal fund-raiser for the rioters next month at former President Donald J. Trump’s private golf club in Bedminster, N.J.

The event — billed as the J6 Awards Gala and hosted by the Stand in the Gap Foundation — is scheduled to take place at the golf club on Sept. 5, according to an online announcement , with tickets costing up to $50,000 for a table for 12. The money is being raised to pay for legal fees for those being prosecuted for their roles on Jan. 6, when a mob stormed the Capitol to protest Mr. Trump’s loss in the 2020 election.

While the announcement lists Mr. Trump as an “invited guest speaker,” Mr. Trump does not plan to attend the event, according to a person familiar with his plans. Mr. Trump’s former lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, is also listed as an invited speaker, but a representative for Mr. Giuliani did not respond to a request for confirmation.

Regardless of whether Mr. Trump will be present, it is an unusual — and potentially risky — move to permit a soiree supporting those who stormed the Capitol to be held at one of his most recognizable properties just as his presidential campaign goes full speed for its final few months.

Mr. Trump himself is facing multiple conspiracy charges in connection with the events of Jan. 6. The same day the groups is to hold its fund-raiser in Bedminster, a hearing will be held in Federal District Court in Washington to determine how to assess the effect on Mr. Trump’s case of the recent Supreme Court ruling granting him a broad version of executive immunity.

Democrats have repeatedly placed the siege of the Capitol at the center of their attacks against Mr. Trump. At their convention in Chicago on Wednesday night, they played an extended video montage of violent footage from the assault, overlaid with excerpts from Mr. Trump’s incendiary speech on Jan. 6, exhorting the crowd to “fight like hell.”

DPS highlights critical aircraft operations on National Aviation Day

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), in honor of National Aviation Day Monday, Aug. 19, recognizes the significant, decades-long contributions of the department’s Aircraft Operations Division (AOD) to citizens of the state.

“For 75 years, the Aircraft Operations Division has played a vital role in DPS’ mission to protect and serve Texas,” said DPS Director Steven McCraw. “From airplanes transporting special investigative teams and helicopters performing rescue missions, to unmanned drones tracking down criminals on the run, aircraft has enhanced our ability to provide unparalleled protection to people across the many miles that make up Texas.”

In Oct. 1949, DPS officially formed AOD, commissioned its first aircraft – a single-engine Navion – and pilot to enhance the department’s ability to meet growing transportation needs for specialized investigative teams, equipment and other key personnel. Today, the division performs statewide air patrol, criminal surveillance and advanced rescue operations.

Through air patrol, DPS leverages technology to locate and apprehend fugitives, deter criminal activity and support Texas’ ongoing Operation Lone Star border security mission. Additionally, AOD supports search and rescue efforts by local, state and federal first responders during disaster-related events. AOD is one of the largest airborne law enforcement units in the country, consisting of 12 duty stations, 26 aircraft with state-of-the-art technology and more than 100 personnel. DPS’ AOD is composed of 50 police pilots and 35 Tactical Flight Officers (TFOs). The division currently operates a fleet of 15 Airbus A-Stars (including nine with hoist capabilities), one Airbus EC145 C2, one Bell 412, two Pilatus PC-12NGs, four Cessna Caravans, two Cessna 206s and one Beechcraft King Air 350.

Texas Air & Space Museum to welcome historic aircraft in September

Wings of Hope Memorial Celebration: A beautiful butterfly release to remember

The Hope & Healing Place (HHP) invites the community to a symbolic family-friendly event, the Wings of Hope Memorial Celebration. Join them at the open field behind Bonham Middle School on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon for a beautiful butterfly release that commemorates the journey through grief.

They will be releasing 500 butterflies, so bring your family and friends and join us with your lawn chair or blanket. During the event, they'll have other activities as well including face painting and butterfly crafts. The butterfly release is a tangible way to remember your loved one, an acknowledgment of a life lived, and a celebration of the love you shared. Grief is a path marked by continuous transitions, sometimes dark and sometimes filled with celebration. The butterfly release symbolizes these similarities between the grief journey and the butterfly's life cycle.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Butterflies can be reserved in memory of a loved one for $25. Visit their website at https://www.hopeandhealingplace.org/wings-of-hope to make your reservation.

HHP is a sole grief center offering services in the Texas Panhandle that offers its services at no charge, so fundraisers like the Wings of Hope Memorial Celebration are vital to their continued support of the community. To learn more about HHP and the event, visit their Facebook event page or contact Cakki Wall at 806-371-8998 Ext. 3.

Amarillo League of Women Voters to offer free presentation, Civics 101, in advance of November election

In advance of the forthcoming election in November, the Amarillo League of Women Voters is offering local civic organizations, social clubs, and other interested groups a presentation outlining the basics regarding voting and elections. It's called Civics 101: Voting & Elections, and requests can be submitted starting this week.

"We are thrilled to offer this information to Amarillo-area citizens who are concerned about the security of our elections," said Claudia Stravato, the League's First Vice President. "We have found there remains great concern about the legitimacy of the voting process in the US and in Texas, so this presentation was designed for those who want to learn more about county voting procedures, which are dictated by the Texas Secretary of State, the elections process, and other related topics that will help clear up any questions voters have before they go to the polls on November 5th."

The League created this adapted presentation from their comprehensive Civics 101 course. The original, three-hour seminar was developed by League members Katie Paul, Judy Tolk and Claudia Stravato in response to a growing need for local citizens to reconnect with how our city, county and state, impact our lives in Amarillo; various components of the course are also available for presentation upon request.

The deadline to register to vote in the November election is Oct. 7; if you book an event in advance of this deadline, League members will also be able to register voters at your event, upon request. If your business, organization, or social/civic club is interested in booking this free presentation, please contact the Amarillo League of Women Voters by phone at 806-337-2148, or send an email to [email protected]. For more about the Amarillo League, visit the organization's website. New members are always welcome.

AAMW joins Clear the Shelters campaign

The Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare Department (AAMW) is again joining the national campaign to help pet adoption – NBC’s Clear the Shelters initiative. It runs from Aug. 10 through Sept. 30.

This will be the 10th year for the campaign nationally – with more than 1 million animals adopted across the country during Clear the Shelters in 2023.

“Clear the Shelters is a wonderful program that really helps increase public awareness of pet adoption,” said AAMW Outreach Coordinator Samantha Bennett. “We look forward to participating in this event every year. It really helps highlight the need in the Amarillo community for pet adoption, in addition to the many services provided here at AAMW.”

In 2023, AMW took in 8,818 cats and dogs, according to a social media post. AAMW is providing a Clear the Shelters special throughout August. Adoption fees for dogs are $25 and cats are $5. Fees include spaying/neutering, vaccinations and micro-chipping. Specific information regarding animals available for adoption at AAMW (including photos, breed, age, etc.) is available online at: amw.amarillo.gov/adoption-and-resources/adoption-list .

Table of contents

Community event ideas.

  • Fundraising event ideas

Corporate event ideas

Virtual event ideas.

The secret to professional event planners’ success in organising community events is to bring together people with mutual interests.

Organising a successful community event can foster community spirit, promote local businesses, and forge unbreakable bonds through a shared experience.

Take a look at these ideas to create a lasting impact and help to build strong relationships in your community.

A person performing a standup comedy routine

1. Standup or comedy show

Everyone loves to laugh, and standup has been around as an event format since the ancient Greeks to serve this basic human need.

You can look to event organisers like Anorak Comedy for inspiration on hosting events like these.

A standup or comedy show provides a great opportunity to have fun, relax and let loose. It also allows attendees to bond as they share in the same experience.

Do it like a pro: Hire local comedians or performers who specialise in your event’s topic. Allow everyone access to the audio source, and include an open mic session and improv games.

2. Book reading

Choose an author or particular book and host a virtual or in-person gathering to discuss books like The Open Book Club.

You’ll see that book readings are a great way to spark conversation and foster deeper connections between community members.

Do it like a pro: Make sure attendees bring their own book copies for the read-along and choose topics relevant to community issues.

A cabaret is a stage performance, typically held in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. But if you prefer, it can be adapted to an online format.

A cabaret is a good community event idea because it mixes music, song, dance, and drama with an overarching theme and allows for artistic expression more suited to adult audiences.

It’s a historic art form that helped jump-start the careers of celebrities like Nina Simone and Bette Midler.

Do it like a pro: Make it an inclusive event by collaborating with a wide range of performers from all kinds of backgrounds. Reach out to local musicians to see if you can bring a fresh, local twist on this historical classic.

4. Masquerade

Most common around Halloween , masquerade parties are a great excuse to get dressed up. Revel with others in equally outrageous, amusing, and esoteric clothing.

With the right atmosphere, going to a masquerade can be an unforgettable experience. Your guests will have great fun exploring new identities and wearing silly costumes.

Do it like a pro: Before the masquerade, lead a workshop where people can learn how to make their own costumes. That gets your attendees more heavily invested and will ensure there are plenty of outfits to remember.

People dancing at an event

5. Dance, ball, or disco

Get your community moving with a lively dance. Whether you go ballroom dancing or clubbing, just for fun or to compete, the variety is almost limitless.

This is a fantastic choice because music and dance feature strongly in most cultures and have the ability to bring people together. Plus, they’re a perfect way to reduce stress and increase dopamine levels!

Do it like a pro: Bring in local musicians, DJs, or even dance instructors to make the dance unique to your community and accessible for everyone.

6. Fandom gathering

Held virtually or in person, this type of event focuses on fans of a particular part of popular culture — usually referring to subcultures such as science fiction, anime, gaming, or cult TV programmes.

The sense of community that can come from connecting with other fans who share the same passion is invaluable. It’s especially important for niche interests that don’t have widespread fandoms where it’s hard to meet other fans locally.

To make it attractive for your fandom, you could include a panel discussion and invite VIPs from the respective franchise, such as celebrities or authors.

Do it like a pro: Make sure you get the word out about your event — some fans are hard to find! Need help spreading your message? Eventbrite Boost is an all-in-one marketing platform that can help you simplify the process.

7. Festival

Festivals are often music-focused but can cater to many interests.  An organised concert series, film screenings or plays are usually hosted at a single venue over several days. They typically use tools like Eventbrite to grow their attendance with more effective marketing and easy ticket management.

Festivals are a great way to bring people together who share a passion. They’re also ideal for introducing new music or other forms of entertainment to the public and can help foster relationships between artists.

Do it like a pro: Clarify the purpose and theme of your festival and determine the target audience and the type of experience you want to create. And don’t forget to set a budget !

8. Networking evening

Often geared towards professionals, networking events are designed to bring like-minded people together to chat, share experiences, and hopefully find common ground.

This can lead to a mutually beneficial business relationship, but sometimes, it’s just about eating pizza and having a drink together!

Do it like a pro: Select a venue that aligns with the atmosphere you want to create. Consider a space that encourages conversation and interaction, such as a cosy lounge, rooftop terrace, or a unique and engaging location.

9. Participatory events

This is where attendees become a part of the event, helping to shape and change the experience and the outcome as it unfolds. You can make all kinds of events participatory , but it’s a significant component of an event that’s worth considering on its own.

This dynamic makes participatory events unpredictable, exciting, and always unique. It’s a great way to engage attendees actively rather than as passive observers.

Do it like a pro: If you run an online event, use technology like online polls to give attendees a voice during the event. Make sure you have a plan with activities for people to interact and discuss their thoughts and ideas.

People at a party

Parties can break down barriers between people who might not otherwise get to know each other. More than that, parties are a fun time for everyone!

Do it like a pro: Make your party memorable by paying attention to details — decorations, lighting, ambience, and overall aesthetics can create a cohesive and immersive experience. And don’t forget to include some ice-breaker activities!

An American-style prom involves giving your attendees the chance to dress up and listen to some oldies!

A prom is a great way to give people the chance to live out their dream of being a princess, a prince, or whatever floats their boat. Plus, it’s a fun way to get everyone together and create some memories.

Do it like a pro: Your prom should have a unifying theme. Make sure everyone knows about it far ahead of time by creating an event page and reaching them early so they can get excited and plan their outfit.

A rally typically involves politics and social issues and usually takes the form of a gathering in the streets — or on the internet — in support of (or against) a specific shared cause.

Rallies can be a great way to bring people together and take meaningful action in solidarity.

Do it like a pro: Make your event run smoothly by checking whether you need any permits and securing them in advance. Selecting a suitable location, coordinating with local authorities, and ensuring proper crowd management and safety measures are essential when organising a rally.

Raves were huge in the 90s, maybe less so today… but what about getting your attendees to party like it’s 1999? A rave is a big dance party, usually featuring electronic music and some measure of neon.

Raves can be great to let people blow off some steam and have fun in new and creative ways. You might even end up with a few viral videos.

Do it like a pro: Make sure that the location is safe and secure and that all attendees are aware of the rules (e.g. no drugs). Bring in a quality sound system and put together a great playlist for people to enjoy.

14. Religious events

Religious events can vary widely but often involve bringing a community together to celebrate as a group.

Whatever your religion, events will likely play a crucial role in bringing together believers, sharing a common message, or raising funds.

Do it like a pro: Most religions are big on helping the less fortunate — host a fundraiser with food plates or activities to help your favourite religious organisation or charity! Be sure to research local laws and regulations to ensure the event runs smoothly.

People dancing at a silent disco

15. Silent disco

If you want to hold a house party with no complaints about the music volume, this could be the solution. Instead of blaring out tunes from loudspeakers, each attendee uses headphones and dances to the music only they hear.

Since everyone listens independently, this is an event you can easily turn virtual. You can even create virtual rooms with different music genres that the participants can tune into and sync them so everyone’s rocking the same tune.

Do it like a pro: Before you start, decide on a theme for the tunes. You can theme specific genres or decades and even encourage attendees to dress up accordingly. If you’ve never been to a silent disco, check out Silent Discos in Incredible Places to see how it’s done!

16. Ribbon cutting

The classic “ribbon-cutting” event has a local famous guest come to open up a new public space, like a school or library. It’s a great way to gather the community — even virtually — and acknowledge the new amenities.

Ribbon-cutting events are a way to celebrate progress and the hard work of all those involved in the project. They’re also a great opportunity for local media outlets to cover the event and help spread the word about your organisation.

Do it like a pro: Start by arranging a meeting with the guest, then decide on a date and time that works for everyone. To get media attention, reach out to local outlets ahead of time and give them all the information they need about the project.

17. Talent or variety show

A competition where entrants demonstrate their unique talent in front of an audience and judging panel. You can even offer enticing prizes to the people who have especially impressive talents to show off.

This is a great way to get people engaged and show off their unique abilities. Plus, it’s great entertainment for the evening; it keeps people’s attention and generates excitement.

Do it like a pro: Don’t forget to plan out an award ceremony with special prizes for the winners! With a grand finale to close out the night, you can really take things to the next level.

Fundraising event ideas

Professional event planners use fundraising events as a great way to engage with the community, raise awareness about important causes, and generate funds for much-needed projects. For example, Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life raised £22.4 million alone.

From silent auctions to charity runs, there are plenty of creative ideas out there that can help make your fundraising event successful. Here are a few we like:

18. Auction

Items or services are sold, either in front of an audience or online, to the person who is prepared to pay the highest amount. Audience members place “bids” for each item or “lot,” with bids being managed by an auctioneer.

They place their bids in increasing value until each person reaches their maximum bid, at which point the highest bidder has secured the item.

This is great for non-profit fundraisers. Not only does it attract attendees’ attention, but it can also help you get more donations than you would otherwise.

Do it like a pro: Contact local businesses to have them contribute with high-value items, such as artwork or vacations, to increase the amount of money raised. In exchange, provide them with some visibility through banners or ads. Consider setting up an online auction platform and providing potential bidders with detailed information about each lot.

A gig is a smaller and more intimate musical performance, one where the performers may not be full-time professional musicians.

Gigs are memorable musical experiences because they let your audience get closer to the performers than they would at a larger concert.

Do it like a pro: Bring together a few friends or coworkers with musical talent and form your own band for a fundraising gig. You could even pull on a few threads (if you have any) and invite a celebrity to get everyone excited about the cause.

A person walking the runway at a fashion show

20. Fashion show

The buzz and theatre of a runway at one of the major fashion weeks will likely be hard to replicate, but fashion shows work well on a smaller scale, too. Plus, they’re a fun way to raise money for charity.

A fashion show is also a great way to promote local designers, retailers and boutiques. Plus, it’s a unique event that’ll grab everyone’s attention.

Do it like a pro: If you’re hosting a large-scale fashion show, consider working with a professional production company specialising in fashion shows. They can help you produce a show that meets your budget and exceeds everyone’s expectations.

21. Improv show

Improvisational comedy is where the performers have no set script and instead develop ideas from the audience into jokes and sketches on the fly. It’s like watching a live movie that unfolds as it goes along.

You can make a fundraiser event from an interactive improv show that entertains everyone and raises money for a good cause.

Do it like a pro: To make it more original, you can create teams and have a competition for the audience’s laughter and applause. And don’t forget you’ll have a limited venue capacity, so you need to manage your ticketing accordingly.

22. Performance art

You never know what to expect from performance art. It’s as completely original and unique as the artist, with very little common ground between one event and another. They typically combine elements of theatre, film, music, video, spoken word, or artistic discipline into an original statement.

Performance art pieces deliver powerful messages in unique performances while also providing fundraising opportunities for local nonprofits and artists.

Do it like a pro: Plan the piece in collaboration with the artist or artists to ensure they have what they need to make it unforgettable. Also, plan to have staff on-site to maintain order during the performance and be prepared in case of any technical difficulties.

A race is a classic fundraiser, and it can be any type of competitive endurance event — usually running, cycling, or swimming, though it occasionally involves an egg and spoon.

Races are exciting and impressive ways to raise awareness and funds at the same time. They can also bring the community together through training for the event.

Do it like a pro: Raise funds by tying distance goals to donations. For example, for every five miles you run, donors will give a certain amount. Use a platform like Eventbrite to collect donations.

24. Film screening

Ranging from Saturday nights at the movies to exclusive documentary screenings, screening events can be surprisingly diverse and flexible.

You can host a film screening anywhere from a house, to a theatre to a park, and it’s easy to theme it in accordance with the cause you’re fundraising for.

Do it like a pro: Raise funds for your cause by charging for admission or offering some movie-themed refreshments at reasonable prices. Consider partnering with local organisations like the Hornet Film Festival to make handling the logistics even easier.

People at an art gallery

25. The performing arts

Here we mean ballet, musicals, opera, and theatre. Yes, we’ve lumped four major types of events into one because they share a common factor — a centre stage occupied by talented artists and appreciated by an attentive audience.

Performing arts events are about entertainment, but by hosting arts events, you can bring the community together to enjoy and appreciate the talents of the performers.

Do it like a pro: Consider hiring experts in their respective fields — theatre, ballet, opera, etc. — to help you organise the event. This way, you can ensure that your event is in line with industry standards and expectations.

26. Silent auction

Like an auction, but bids are placed in a closed box, so no one knows how much the others have bid. The box is then unlocked and the highest bid wins.

Silent auctions are a great way to raise money by offering goods and services, usually donated by local businesses or individuals.

Do it like a pro: Consider contracting a professional auctioneer to manage the process, as they will have more expertise in running an effective silent auction with minimal fuss. They can also help ensure that all bids are collected securely.

With the right combination of planning, networking opportunities, entertainment, and delicious food and drinks, you can create a memorable corporate event that brings together colleagues from around the world.

With the corporate event industry projected to grow and the UK being ranked 6th worldwide by ICCA for the number of meetings hosted in 2022, corporate events are only bound to get more popular.

But you’ll juggle many responsibilities at once, so we tried to make that job easier for you with this comprehensive list of corporate event ideas .

From themed galas to outdoor competitions – let’s take a look at some fun yet effective ideas that will wow any crowd:

27. Awards ceremony

Think the BAFTAs or the Brit Awards. Of course, not all awards ceremonies are quite as slick and glamorous, but they’re a wonderful way to recognise and reward the hard work of teams and individuals.

A well-planned and skilfully conducted awards ceremony can go a long way towards motivating people and encouraging excellence.

Do it like a pro: Put together a panel of judges to review nominees, select winners, and arrange for the presentation of awards. You’ll need to factor in costs for prizes or trophies, as well as any entertainment you choose to include.

28. Conference

Conferences are made up of several sessions, often mixing up formats, including keynotes, panels, breakouts, and roundtables. They’re great for blending knowledge sharing with networking among like-minded professionals.

Conferences can be either in-person or online.

Do it like a pro: Utilise social media to promote the event and create interactive experiences such as polls, quizzes, or virtual treasure hunts during the event itself.

Additionally, make sure you have a follow-up strategy in place to stay connected with attendees long after the event has ended.

A ConfEx is part conference, part exhibition. As you’d imagine, there’s a heavy emphasis on talks and learning, but with a large number of exhibitors offering smaller presentations and unique opportunities for networking and connecting either in-person or online.

The combination of talks/presentations and exhibitors allows for a lot more diversity in content, as well as exposure to a wider range of topics.

With an emphasis on networking and interacting with exhibitors, attendees can come away with unique insight and resources that they wouldn’t be able to find at a typical conference.

Do it like a pro: To facilitate a successful ConfEx, event, be prepared to manage both the presentation and exhibition sides of the event. You also need to plan for the logistics. A platform like Eventbrite can help with registration and scheduling.

People attending a convention

30. Convention

This is another broad term that can sometimes mean a conference, a trade show, or, more commonly now, a virtual or in-person gathering of fans (i.e. a fandom).

Conventions help bring together an industry to discuss new best practices and technologies that everyone can benefit from.

Do it like a pro: Like trade shows and conferences, organising a convention requires careful planning with vendors, volunteers, and other stakeholders. If you do it online, you’ll need to think about how to maximise attendance — which is just the topic of this Eventbrite post.

31. Congress

Congresses generally refer to formal meetings between politicians or government representatives. Many conferences also adopt the name “congress” to sound more formal and important.

A congress is an excellent way to bring together professionals from different industries, countries, and backgrounds to share ideas, network, and learn from each other.

Do it like a pro: Event organisers should set the tone for the congress by making sure that all participants are briefed on the topic, objectives, and expected outcomes. It’s also important to create a schedule of activities and speakers in advance.

32. Consumer show or fair

These are usually big events full of vendors selling their products or services, all linked by a specific theme.

You can bring vendors to an online version, too, to market homeware, travel opportunities, or electronics.

These events are perfect for a wide range of industries, bringing together buyers and sellers in one place.

Do it like a pro: Onsite, ensure the layout of vendors is well planned with ample space between them. Provide adequate signage and directional signage to help visitors move around the venue easily.

33. Exhibition or trade show

Trade shows are similar to consumer fairs but are normally restricted to professionals. They focus on selling high-value B2B goods or services that can easily be held online.

Trade shows are a great way to share ideas, network with industry professionals, and find new opportunities for collaboration.

Do it like a pro: Create an organised event agenda with presentations to engage the audience. It’s also essential to provide refreshments and other amenities, such as charging stations, to keep everyone comfortable.

People on the beach dancing

34. Flash events

Flash events may be organised months in advance, but they are promoted merely days before the event.

These types of events are great if you have a large following or a high demand for your event. The sudden release of news of your event is sure to trigger impulse buying.

Do it like a pro: Leverage your network of contacts for the best results. Recruit them to spread the word through email and social media posts. Keep in mind that you’ll need to put plenty of time and effort into planning, preparing and promoting it if you want your event to be successful — a checklist might come in handy.

35. Interview or fireside chat

An interview or a fireside chat is a simple format to get expert knowledge or perspective from an industry leader.

While one-on-one interviews are most common, you can also interview a group of experts at once. A fireside chat is similar but may have a more casual and conversational atmosphere.

This is a great format for those who want a keynote speaker but can’t invest the time in creating a presentation. Instead, you can set up a microphone and camera or, if venues are open, put them on stage and ask all of the questions you and your audience want to know.

Do it like a pro: Prioritise your questions beforehand and practice them to ensure you stay on track during the conversation. And don’t forget to ask follow-up questions, too!

36. Product launch

Product launch events are often held in a party format to showcase a company’s latest release, so they’ll generally involve a demo, lots of cool branding, important people, and, if in-person, plenty of drinks and nibbles.

Product launches are all about creating the most positive first impression possible and ensuring the product looks polished and professional.

Do it like a pro: Make sure to establish measurable goals for your product launch to ensure that your planning is focused on accomplishing what’s important.

37. Q&A

Question and answer sessions are very common after a talk or panel at a business event, but they’re not limited to that situation.

Artists will often launch their latest film or book with a Q&A session so their fans get a chance to dig behind the scenes and ask their burning questions.

Q&A’s are a great way to engage with the audience on a more intimate level and to build trust. They can also help clarify confusing topics by answering the audience’s questions.

Do it like a pro: Prepare for your Q&A session by researching common questions you anticipate getting. For example, you can go on Reddit or Quora and search for questions people ask about similar products. Include some thought-provoking questions, too, to get everyone talking.

38. Presentation

A presentation isn’t another word for “PowerPoint,” contrary to the popular understanding of some conference speakers. A presentation should inform, persuade, or build goodwill.

While usually found as part of a conference or other larger event, there’s no reason you can’t have a single presentation as the star of your event.

This can be a great way to unveil new products, services, or initiatives. It’s also a great tool for gaining public approval of your decision-making process and giving an audience the chance to ask questions.

Do it like a pro: Make sure the presentation has a variety of audiovisual cues, and consider finding ways to include audience participation through polls or questions.

People attending a forum

Historically, “the Forum” was a Roman centre of public life where citizens would gather. In the context of events, a forum is usually a great format for debate and airing of opinions and so associated with legal and political proceedings — although it’s just as useful for industry-related discussions.

Forums are a popular choice for professional events since they give attendees an opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, and network with like-minded individuals.

They’re also easy to do online .

Do it like a pro: Make sure your forum is well-structured, with a moderator who can keep everyone on track and guide the conversation. Provide plenty of time for questions and answers, and make sure to have a way to record any insights gleaned from the discussions.

40. Seminar

This event focuses on a single theme where attendees are invited to participate by following along with specially designed academic exercises.

This kind of event helps attendees learn and retain more knowledge by providing a structured format that’s easy to digest. It also encourages collaboration among the participants as they work together on their assigned tasks.

Do it like a pro: Have a plan in place for what you would like your attendees to accomplish during the seminar and ensure that your activities are well-suited for the allotted time.

Make sure to leave some room for unexpected questions or topics of discussion; these can be invaluable in getting attendees more involved and engaged in the seminar.

41. Signing engagement

Signings are generally associated with books, so fans and readers can meet their favourite authors and get their latest release signed by them. They’re also a common component of fandoms and comic cons.

Signings are a great way to give attendees something tangible to remember their experience by. They’re also fantastic for raising awareness for new publications and creating relationships between fans, authors and publishers.

Do it like a pro: Have your author(s) prepared with plenty of books or other items they can sign, as well as markers or pens. It’s also a good idea to have an orderly line and seating area so attendees don’t get overwhelmed by the experience.

42. Breakfast briefing

Breakfast briefings are a morning event format often used when the host has an announcement or launch to present.

They’re great for those who want to reach a business audience, who would be unable to attend an event during office hours or after work. It’s also an ideal option for those who need online event ideas, as the format is easily adaptable to a virtual venue.

Do it like a pro: Make sure the breakfast briefing is tailored to your target audience’s preferences — consider offering a variety of options, from classic continental breakfasts to vegan and gluten-free selections.

People participating in a panel discussion

43. Panel session

A perennial favourite at conferences, they can also be stand-alone events. Gather a few experts, throw in a moderator and a series of questions on their topic of expertise, and you’ve got yourself a panel.

It’s a great way to get multiple perspectives on a single topic without going overboard.

Do it like a pro: Prioritise the list of questions that you want to be answered, ensuring that each panellist is given equal time to answer them. Also, make sure the moderator keeps the discussion moving forward and provides closure for any tangents.

44. Endurance race

An endurance event is a special type of race that deserves its own section. We’re talking about any kind of individual feat of endurance where you race against yourself to complete a distance or time.

Like with races, the most common forms involve running, cycling, and swimming (or all three). But they can also involve dancing in your house for 24 hours, for example.

Endurance events are a great way to challenge people to push their limits. The feeling of accomplishment after completing an endurance challenge can be incredibly rewarding.

Do it like a pro: An endurance race may require careful planning regarding safety and support for the participants — from pre-race medical check-ups to well-supplied aid stations along the way. Event professionals should also consider secure transport for personal belongings.

45. Food and drink

Food and drink events can be as varied as food and drink itself.

In-person events typically have a large variety of stalls and vendors selling their goods. Creators like Olive & Atlas Travel Design even offer these events online. They often involve obtaining ingredients to cook along with, and are a great way to sample a lot of variety and expand your palate.

Food and drink events are a great way to foster community, offer education and entertainment, and support local vendors. They also provide an opportunity for sponsorships as well as charities or nonprofits to benefit from the proceeds.

Do it like a pro: Incorporate sustainably sourced, local food into the event to give it a local flair. You could also have the chef or another industry professional give a presentation about the food and its origins.

Whether it’s gathering social gamers or attracting gamers who play for cash prizes as a sport, gaming is a big industry to penetrate.

Gaming events are a great way to bring together people from all walks of life, make connections and have some competitive fun. It can also be used as a tool for fundraising or educational activities, such as teaching people about coding, computer graphics or the history of gaming.

Do it like a pro: Utilise technology at your event, such as virtual reality or augmented reality games, as well as mobile gaming options. To add an extra layer of fun, bring in experts to speak about different aspects of gaming, such as game design and development, eSports, professional game teams, and more.

People doing yoga together

47. Yoga class

Improve your team’s flexibility — literally!

Yoga is a stretching-based exercise that can be low-intensity and accessible to everyone. While some yoga poses are quite difficult and can work up a sweat, others are relatively easy and can help the team relax.

It’s a great way to have fun, get some exercise and bond with your team.

Do it like a pro: Hire a professional yoga instructor and make sure there’s a mic and sound system if it’s a big group. Choose a venue that ensures your yoga class is as safe and accessible as possible. Consider variations like hot yoga for an exciting twist.

48. Hackathon

When you bring together programmers, designers, and other digital professionals and ask them to build a prototype within a set period of time, you’ve got yourself a hackathon.

According to stereotypes, the participants are fueled by pizza, caffeine, and beer.

Hackathons are a fun way for teams to brainstorm, design, and develop something new.

From having a local or global focus to creating solutions for specific challenges faced by businesses and organisations, your hackathons may lead to the development of useful digital tools.

Do it like a pro: To make your hackathon successful, determine what type of challenge it will address and decide on the format (timeframe and rules) beforehand. And don’t forget the pizzas!

49. Immersive

Immersive events normally follow a tight narrative that leads the participant through the story, with the help of actors who always stay in character and movie-set settings.

This is a favourite event for fans of zombies and apocalypse scenarios and can even be held online by asking attendees to tune into a livestream.

Immersive events are great for creating a shared experience that participants can talk about and remember for a long time.

Do it like a pro: Develop a compelling narrative with interesting characters and make sure the setting is believable (otherwise, it isn’t immersive!). Also, ensure you test out the scenario or storyboard before the event day.

50. Pitch contest

The format is normally a rapid-fire session of startups or speakers pitching to the audience or a panel of experts, usually to win a prize.

It’s a great way to discover new talent and encourage creativity — whether it’s entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas or speakers looking for funding. Plus, there’s always the potential reward of winning a prize at the end of it all.

Do it like a pro: Make sure you have an MC to announce each speaker or presenter and manage the time slots. It’s also important to have clear criteria for judging so that everyone knows what they need to do in order to make a good impression.

meet-up

51. Meet-up

A meet-up is just what it sounds like — people with a common interest meet up in a physical or virtual space .

Whatever your interest — punk rock fan club, property investors, book club — it’s always great to connect with like-minded people and enjoy conversation with those who share a passion.

Do it like a pro: Develop a set list of topics to discuss and find a location that’s convenient for everyone and provides an atmosphere conducive to conversation. You could even include a fun Q&A session.

52. Puzzle or escape room

Solve puzzles in a group, within a certain amount of time, in a closed space or online. This creates the right mix of excitement, curiosity, and agitation to make this format a recent stand-out success.

Do it like a pro: The trick is to spend some time creating an engaging, entertaining storyline and carefully choosing the puzzles you want your teams to solve. It’s also a great idea to assign a knowledgeable game master who can monitor the game and provide hints or guidance when necessary.

This fun event usually consists of groups or teams competing against each other and a “quizmaster” who poses questions to the competing teams. Each group then writes down (or types) answers to each question, with the winning team having the most correct answers.

Quiz events are a great way to get teams engaged while also learning and having fun.

Do it like a pro: Select topics that fit the interests of your attendees and prepare questions ahead of time, organised in rounds. Make sure you include some high-quality multimedia elements like music and visuals.

54. Retreat

A retreat can involve attendees coming together online or in person, often over a weekend or longer, to meditate, relax, and find peaceful conversation.

Retreats are great for allowing attendees to disconnect from their day-to-day lives and spend time focusing on self-growth. They also provide opportunities for team-building exercises.

Do it like a pro: Create a safe space for attendees to open up and share ideas and set expectations in advance. Research different types of meditation exercises, mindfulness practices, or team-building activities that work best for your group.

Roasts, in the opposite tradition of toasts, are events where the main subject is honoured but with some gentle mocking and ribbing. A great way to keep egos in check, it’s like a best man’s speech, minus the wince-inducing innuendos.

Roasts are a lighthearted way to pay tribute and appreciate someone’s presence while also having fun.

Do it like a pro: Choose someone who is good at delivering comedic one-liners and keep it lighthearted. Prepare a few lines to throw out, but make sure everyone has an opportunity to add their own jokes as well.

A person performing at an open mic

56. Open mic

An event where everyone gets the chance to be the star of the show; they usually focus on poetry, music, and comedy.

An open mic session gives aspiring artists the chance to showcase their skills and get comfortable performing in front of people.

This event is all about self-expression and connecting with people through creativity. It’s a great way to bring people together in a low-stakes environment while also providing some entertainment value.

Do it like a pro: Get one or two people to sign up to perform first before the event. Often, people are reluctant to take the first step, but once a couple of people have done it, the momentum carries the rest of the event forward.

57. Secret event

A secret event can be anything, but what matters is the lead-up. Keep it a secret from everyone but the few people you’ll need to help organise.

Keeping the agenda of your event a mystery really engages people’s curiosity.

Sometimes, telling them nothing at all makes them excited just to find out what it’s all about. It’s a great way to bring your team together as they wonder and theorise about what the event could be.

Do it like a pro: If you want the secret or surprise event to be a success, you’ll need to plan ahead. This might mean sending out carefully worded emails or texts that hint at what’s going on without giving away the surprise.

58. Workshops

Workshops are often used interchangeably with training sessions, but their traditional meaning was a room where people could build stuff.

In event terms, your workshop should focus on helping people create something tangible — like a painting or teapot warmer.

Workshops can be a great way to tap into people’s creative side and help them make something personal. They also foster team-building activities and collaboration skills as attendees work together towards a common goal.

Do it like a pro: If you’re on a budget, survey the team to see if any of them have skills they could teach to avoid hiring an instructor. If that leaves you with a few pennies to spare, invest that money in high-quality materials or a professional space for the workshop.

With virtual events still proving popular in 2024 due to their high attendance rate and low cost , professional event organisers have responded by creating innovative ways for individuals and organisations alike to host successful online gatherings.

From conferences and seminars to team-building activities and product launches, there is no shortage of creative ideas when it comes to hosting a virtual event.

Using platforms like Eventbrite that can integrate a video platform with ticketing, registration, and marketing tools will help to create a more seamless and immersive experience for your attendees.

If you’re not used to planning virtual events, it can be hard to come up with interesting ideas.

That’s alright, it’s why, after years of promoting and hosting events, our Eventbrite experts have come in to supply some great ideas for your virtual events .

People on a video call

59. Roundtable

All in attendance receive the same question and then debate the answer.

Think city planning, business innovation, or political issues as the kind of topics often discussed at roundtables .

Roundtables encourage a diverse range of opinions and also provide a forum for people to present interesting ideas you might not hear otherwise. They can also be used to gain clarity and consensus on a subject.

Do it like a pro: Appoint a moderator who can remain impartial and ensure every voice is heard. That way, you can encourage open dialogue but also be prepared for contentious topics or people who may want to monopolise the discussion.

While you might be used to hearing about debates in politics, you can host a debate about anything! Two well-spoken subject matter experts just need to face off to compare beliefs, approaches, or points of view.

Witnessing talented, passionate debaters is an event that can make a huge impression.

Virtual debates can influence elections, lend credibility to causes, and get spectators questioning their original assumptions.

Do it like a pro: Make sure the debaters have plenty of time to prepare before they begin. You should also ensure they receive supportive guidelines for audience engagement so that everyone can stay on topic and be respectful during the debate.

61. Paint jam

Grab some brushes, paint, and a canvas, hop online and you’ve got yourself a paint jam. A paint jam is an event where painters make their art in a limited time period. Paint jams can be competitive, or they can just be an opportunity for a bit of messy fun.

People love watching amazing art come to life. It doesn’t need to be done by professionals either — regular people can also have lots of fun with an amateur paint jam.

Do it like a pro : Create a variety of prizes so people with less art experience don’t feel left out. You can reward the most creative interpretation of the prompt, the most beautiful painting, the one that uses the materials in the most interesting way, and more.

62. Scavenger hunt or treasure hunt

Virtual scavenger hunts can be a fun and enjoyable way to get people working together.

A virtual scavenger hunt can involve searching for places from Google Street View, finding information online, or even searching for household items.

Not only is it fun and engaging, but it’s also a great way to practise critical thinking skills in an interesting way.

Do it like a pro: On top of the typical scavenger hunt activities, you could also build in bonus points for creativity, team coordination, or anything that stands out. Encourage your participants to think outside the box, and reward them when they do!

People using virtual reality headsets

63. Virtual reality

A new type of event that will continue to grow is virtual reality — whether it’s used to make an in-person event more interesting or bring a unique live experience to remote attendees. The possibilities are endless.

Virtual reality promises a more immersive experience than other online formats like video calls and appeals to many curious souls.

Do it like a pro: Make sure everyone has the equipment they’ll need to attend the event in virtual reality. Consider renting the appropriate gear and providing it to attendees who don’t have it already.

64. Reunion

While you might associate a reunion with high school or university classmates, there’s no reason to keep them so limited.

Host a virtual reunion of old coworkers or colleagues, or reunite with last season’s extracurricular sports league.

Like team building, reunions create a sense of belonging and connection. Connecting with people you have a history with creates a unique bond that can bring comfort and joy to everyone involved.

Do it like a pro: Give notice well in advance of the date and time, so that everyone can plan ahead. Also, be sure to emphasise that this is a ‘no-pressure’ event — let people know it’s okay if they just want to join in for a few minutes or if they need to leave early.

65. Virtual tour

These are events led by an expert on the location or focus of the tour who guides the group between venues on camera.

An often-overlooked benefit of virtual tours is that they can be recorded and shared with people who weren’t able to attend the live tour. This can increase the reach of your event and helps create a strong engagement factor even after the event has finished.

Do it like a pro: Choose an experienced tour guide that is able to bring the experience to life with vivid descriptions and engaging stories. You can also increase immersion with virtual reality technology that makes participants feel like they’re really there.

66. Webinars

An online seminar where attendees dial in either by phone or the web and follow the slides on a screen.

A webinar is a great event if lead capture or education are your primary objectives because it makes it easy to collect contact information from attendees and reach out to them later. They’re also recordable and more accessible than in-person seminars.

Do it like a pro: When you do your webinar planning , consider hosting multiple sessions to cater for different time zones, and make sure you provide the essential content in the form of handouts, slides or other materials. Additionally, if your webinar involves speaker interviews, consider using video conferencing tools like Zoom to allow for a more interactive format.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 19, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire ZT Systems , a leading provider of AI infrastructure for the world’s largest hyperscale computing companies. The strategic transaction marks the next major step in AMD’s AI strategy to deliver leadership AI training and inferencing solutions based on innovating across silicon, software and systems. ZT Systems’ extensive experience designing and optimizing cloud computing solutions will also help cloud and enterprise customers significantly accelerate the deployment of AMD-powered AI infrastructure at scale.

AMD has agreed to acquire ZT Systems in a cash and stock transaction valued at $4.9 billion, inclusive of a contingent payment of up to $400 million based on certain post-closing milestones. AMD expects the transaction to be accretive on a non-GAAP basis by the end of 2025.

“Our acquisition of ZT Systems is the next major step in our long-term AI strategy to deliver leadership training and inferencing solutions that can be rapidly deployed at scale across cloud and enterprise customers,” said AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su . “ZT adds world-class systems design and rack-scale solutions expertise that will significantly strengthen our data center AI systems and customer enablement capabilities. This acquisition also builds on the investments we have made to accelerate our AI hardware and software roadmaps. Combining our high-performance Instinct AI accelerator, EPYC CPU, and networking product portfolios with ZT Systems’ industry-leading data center systems expertise will enable AMD to deliver end-to-end data center AI infrastructure at scale with our ecosystem of OEM and ODM partners.”

AMD shares our vision for the important role our technology and our people play designing and building the computing infrastructure powering the largest data centers in the world.”

Following transaction close, ZT Systems will join the AMD Data Center Solutions Business Group.
