The BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing (RQF) is a wide-ranging computing qualification that equips learners with relevant, foundational knowledge and skills in computing and information systems. It is suited to those desirous of pursuing careers in the IT sector, such as systems analysts, software engineers and developers, information system design and management, and IT maintenance and technical services areas, to name a few.

This Level 5 Higher National Diploma qualification is recognised as an accepted route onto the later stages of a number of UK and foreign university qualifications.
It comprises 15 units; 12 core, and 3 electives specific to your chosen specialism (Application Development, Security and Network Engineering). Successful completion of the HND in Computing allows direct entry into the University of Greenwich BSc. (Hons) in Computing.

To be eligible for entry to the BTEC HND Computing, you must satisfy one of the following requirements:
- Matriculation to the Higher National Diploma in Computing; Diploma in Computing OR
- Two (2) A’ Levels / CAPE equivalent OR
- ABE Certificate /Diploma (Level 4) (BM or MIS) OR
- 21 years and over with four (4) O’ Levels including English and two (2) years relevant work experience.
Students will also be required to attend pre-requisite courses before commencing the BTEC HND programme.
Candidates who do not meet these entry requirements will be considered on an individual basis.
The next intake for this offering will be in October 2021. Registration is currently open and the registration deadline is September 30th 2021.

Option 2: WI Pay (Credit Card ) – If you wish to utilize this method, please forward an email to the Centre for Information Technology and Engineering indicating if you would be paying the full cost or whether you would like to access any of our payment plan options. Once this is confirmed, an invoice will then be forwarded via email.

Learning, Teaching and Assessment Methods
The Pearson BTEC HND in Computing programme is taught using a blended approach of practical industry relevant experiences and academics. The course delivery includes lectures (inclusive of tutorials), in-class and online discussions, case study discussions, lab work, research work, group work, among others. All students will be guided at every step towards achieving their goals.
Students will be assessed using written assignments/reports and presentations; both individual and group.
Learning Outcomes
This BTEC qualification gives the specialist knowledge, skills, and confidence in the fields of Computing and Information Technology, allowing learners to make an impact in the modern workplace.
Programme Structure
Students have to successfully complete three (3) prerequisite courses and all 15 compulsory units in order to complete the BTEC HND in Computing programme.
Intake Information
New students are accepted into the BTEC HND in Computing programme in September of every year for full-time (Champs Fleurs & San Fernando campuses) and part-time classes (Champs Fleurs campus, only).
