Veteran director, K Raghavendra Rao has presented a film called Wanted PanduGod. The film has all the top comedians of Tollywood in key roles and has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Pandugadu(Sunil) is a dreaded criminal who escapes from prison and hides in the forest. The government announces a reward of one crore to whoever nabs him. Knowing this, actors like Anasuya, Vennela Kishore, 30 Years, Pruthvi, Srinivasa Reddy, Tanikella Bharani, Saptagiri, Sudigali Sudheer, and Amani, who play key roles in the film embark on a journey to nab Pandugadu. Who is the one who finally catches Pandugadu forms the rest of the story?

Plus Points

One of the assets of the film is the presence of multiple comedians in the film. It has been quite some time since we have seen so many noted comedians in one frame. After a long gap, Brahmanandam does a small role and he is good as the funny doctor. Vennela Kishore evokes a few laughs in the film.

Sapatagiri, Srinivasa Reddy, and 30 years Prudhvi do their best to evoke some comedy. Anasuya is neat in her role and is the one who does not overact. She also gets a solo song and looks glamorous in the film. Sunil gets the main part and he is okay. Deepika Pilli looks beautiful in the songs but did not get much screen space

Minus Points

Wanted Pandugod has been directed by Sreedhar Seepana. Looks like he is just stuck in the good old 90s where such comedies used to have audiences. But times have changed and such over-the-top and silly comedians are not being watched anymore by the audience.

His plot is simple as he creates characters who go all out for money. But his narration and curiosity to create comedy look silly. There are so many situations in the film that are cringe-worthy. In spite of having so many comedians, there is no proper comedy or fun generated in the film.

There was absolutely no need to narrate the film in such an over-the-top manner. The film was promoted a bit in Sudigali Sudheer’s name but he has not much role and was sidelined. The second half and climax are so bad that you would look for exit doors right away.

Technical Aspects

Production values are okay and so was the camera work. The music and the way heroines were showcased were good. The BGM is worse and the production design looked silly. The editing is fine as the film is only 2 hours long. Coming to the director Sreedhar Seepana, he has done a horrible as more comedy can be witnessed in comedy shows and on Youtube these days.

On the whole, Wanted PanduGod is an outdated comedy caper that is loud and has a few jokes that the B and C center audience might enjoy. But the story and the presence of all the top comedians cannot salvage the film as it is narrated in such a silly manner making it a forgettable watch this weekend.

ఒక‌ప్పుడు హార‌ర్ చిత్రాల‌కి కేరాఫ్‌లా క‌నిపించేది టాలీవుడ్‌. ఇటీవల వాటి ప్ర‌భావం త‌గ్గింది. అయినా స‌రే... అప్పుడ‌ప్పుడూ ఈ జాన‌ర్‌ని స్పృశిస్తూ సినిమాలు తీస్తున్నారు ద‌ర్శ‌కనిర్మాత‌లు. ‘మ‌సూద‌’ త‌ర్వాత మ‌ళ్లీ ఆ స్థాయి ప్ర‌చారంతో ప్రేక్ష‌కుల ముందుకొచ్చింది ‘పిండం’ (Pindam). ది స్కేరియ‌స్ట్ ఫిలిం ఎవ‌ర్.. అనే ఉప‌శీర్షిక‌తో ఈ సినిమా రూపుదిద్దుకోవ‌డం.. ప్ర‌చార చిత్రాలు కూడా ఆస‌క్తిని పెంచ‌డంతో సినిమా కోసం ఆత్రుత‌గా ఎదురు చూశారు హార‌ర్ అభిమానులు. మ‌రి ఈ చిత్రం ఏమాత్రం భ‌య‌పెడుతోందో తెలుసుకుందాం ప‌దండి..(Pindam movie review).

క‌థేంటంటే? అన్న‌మ్మ (ఈశ్వ‌రీరావు) త‌న తండ్రి ద్వారా అబ్బిన తాంత్రిక జ్ఞానంతో ఎంతోమందికి సాయం చేస్తూ ఉంటుంది. ఆత్మ‌లు ఆవ‌హించిన‌ప్పుడు త‌న‌దైన శైలిలో ప‌సిగ‌ట్టి, వాటి నుంచి విముక్తి క‌ల్పిస్తూ స్వాంత‌న చేకూరుస్తూ ఉంటుంది. అది తెలుసుకుని తాంత్రిక శ‌క్తుల‌పై ప‌రిశోధ‌న చేస్తున్న లోక్‌నాథ్ (శ్రీనివాస్ అవ‌స‌రాల‌) అన్న‌మ్మ వద్దకు వ‌స్తాడు. ఆ క్ర‌మంలో 1990ల నాటి ఓ సంఘ‌ట‌న గురించి చెబుతుంది అన్న‌మ్మ‌. త‌నలో ఉన్న తాంత్రిక జ్ఞానానికే స‌వాల్ విసిరిన ఆంథోనీ కుటుంబం క‌థ అది. సుక్లాపేట్‌లోని ఓ  రైస్ మిల్లులో అకౌంటెంట్‌గా ప‌నిచేసే ఆంథోనీ (శ్రీరామ్) త‌న భార్య మేరీ (ఖుషి ర‌వి), పిల్ల‌లు సోఫీ, తారాల‌తో క‌లిసి ఊరి చివ‌ర‌ ఉండే ఓ ఇంటిని కొని అందులో చేర‌తాడు. ఆ ఇంట్లోకి వెళ్లిన నాటి నుంచి గ‌ర్భంతో ఉన్న  మేరీ మిన‌హా అందరూ కూడా ఆత్మ‌ల బారిన ప‌డి ఇబ్బందుల‌కి గుర‌వుతారు. ఆ ఇంటిని వ‌దిలిపెట్టి వెళ్లాల‌ని నిర్ణ‌యించుకున్నా ఆ ఆత్మ‌లు వ‌దిలిపెట్ట‌వు. (Pindam movie review) ఇంత‌కీ ఆ ఆత్మ‌లు ఎవ‌రివి? వాటి నుంచి ఆంథోనీ కుటుంబానికి ఎలా విముక్తి లభించింది? ఆత్మ‌ల గ‌తం ఏమిట‌నేది తెర‌పై చూడాల్సిందే.

ఎలా ఉందంటే: హార‌ర్ చిత్రాలు ఎక్కువ‌గా కామెడీ మేళ‌వింపుగానే సాగుతూ ఉంటాయి. న‌వ్విస్తూ, అంత‌లోనే భ‌య‌పెడుతూ ముందుకు సాగుతూ ఉంటాయి. ఆ మేళ‌వింపు ప‌క్కాగా కుదిరిన చిత్రాల‌కే విజ‌యాలు ద‌క్కుతుంటాయి. అలా కామెడీ ఇత‌ర‌త్రా అంశాలతో సంబంధం లేకుండా కేవ‌లం భ‌యం ప్ర‌ధానంగా సాగ‌డ‌మే ‘పిండం’ ప్ర‌త్యేక‌త‌. చివరిలో ఫ్లాష్‌బ్యాక్ స‌న్నివేశాలు క‌థ‌కి కీల‌కం. అయితే ఈ క‌థ, క‌థ‌నాల్లో కొత్త‌ద‌నం ఏమీ లేదు. ఊరి చివ‌ర‌న పాడుబ‌డిన ఓ ఇల్లు. వాడుక‌లో లేని ఓ గ‌ది. అందులో  ఆత్మ‌లు అంటూ స‌గ‌టు హార‌ర్ చిత్రాల త‌ర‌హాలోనే ఇదీ సాగుతుంది. ఇలాంటి క‌థ‌ల్లో ఆ ఆత్మలు ఎవ‌రివి?వాటి ల‌క్ష్యం ఏమిట‌నేదే కీల‌కం. ఆంథోనీ కుటుంబం ఇంట్లోకి వ‌చ్చాక ఒకొక్క‌రికీ ఆత్మ‌లు క‌నిపించ‌డం, అంద‌రూ విచిత్రంగా ప్ర‌వ‌ర్తించ‌డం  ఆ స‌న్నివేశాల్ని భ‌యం క‌లిగించేలా తీయ‌డంలో ద‌ర్శకుడు స‌ఫ‌ల‌మ‌య్యాడు. అయితే అవే స‌న్నివేశాలు సినిమా మొత్తం పున‌రావృతం అవుతూ ఉంటాయి. దాంతో ఆరంభ స‌న్నివేశాల్లో క‌లిగినంత భ‌యం ఆ త‌ర్వాత క‌ల‌గ‌దు. గ‌దిలో శ‌బ్ధాలు, కుర్చీ ఊగ‌డం, మూల‌న ఉన్న కొన్ని వ‌స్తువులు క‌ద‌ల‌డం వంటి స‌న్నివేశాలు ప‌దే ప‌దే చూపించ‌డంతో  క‌థ ఎంత‌కీ  ముందుకు సాగుతున్న‌ట్టు అనిపించదు. విరామంలో మ‌లుపు ద్వితీయార్ధంపై ఆస‌క్తి పెంచుతుంది. తాంత్రిక శ‌క్తుల‌పై అవ‌గాహ‌న ఉన్న అన్న‌మ్మ కూడా ఆ ఇంట్లో ఆత్మ‌ల్ని పసిగ‌ట్ట‌డం, వాటి నుంచి విముక్తి కోసం రంగంలోకి దిగ‌డంతో ఏం జ‌రుగుతుందో అనే ఉత్సుక‌త పెరుగుతుంది. కానీ, ద్వితీయార్ధం స‌న్నివేశాల్లోనూ  కొత్త‌ద‌నం ఏమీ కనిపించ‌దు. అంత‌కుముందు లాగే అన్న‌మ్మ‌తో స‌హా అంద‌రినీ  ఆత్మ‌లు భ‌య‌పెడుతూనే ఉంటాయి. త‌న తాంత్రిక ప‌రిజ్ఞానంతో ఆ ఇంట్లో ఆత్మ‌లుగా ఉన్న‌వాళ్ల‌తో మాట్లాడుతూ, అంత‌కుముందు ఆ కుటుంబం గురించి,  అప్ప‌ట్లో జ‌రిగిన దారుణం గురించి అన్న‌మ్మ చెబుతూ పోయే స‌న్నివేశాల‌తో డ్రామా ఆక‌ట్టుకోదు. క‌డుపులో పిండానికీ, బ‌య‌టి ఆత్మ‌కీ ముడిపెట్ట‌డంలో పెద్ద‌గా లాజిక్ క‌నిపించ‌దు. తాంత్రిక పూజ‌లు, మంత్రాల పేరుతో తెర‌పై క‌నిపించే హంగామా కూడా ఏమాత్రం మెప్పించ‌దు. ఇలాంటి చిత్రాల‌కి మ‌న‌సుల్ని క‌దిలించే భావోద్వేగాలు కీల‌కం. కానీ, ప‌తాక సన్నివేశాల్లో  వ‌చ్చే ఫ్లాష్ బ్యాక్‌లో  భావోద్వేగాలు లేక‌పోగా మితిమీరిన హింస‌ని చూపించారు. ఆ స‌న్నివేశాల్ని సున్నిత మ‌న‌స్కులు చూడ‌లేని విధంగా ఉంటాయి.

ఎవ‌రెలా చేశారంటే: శ్రీరామ్‌, ఖుషి ర‌వి  మ‌ధ్య త‌ర‌గ‌తి కుటుంబానికి చెందిన జంట‌గా పాత్ర‌ల్లో ఇమిడిపోయారు.  హార‌ర్  ప్ర‌ధానంగా సాగే  స‌న్నివేశాల్లో శ్రీరామ్ న‌ట‌న మెప్పిస్తుంది. ఖుషి ర‌వి గ‌ర్భ‌వ‌తిగా, ఇద్ద‌రు చిన్నారుల‌కి త‌ల్లిగా ఆ పాత్ర‌కి త‌గ్గ‌ట్టుగా ప‌క్కాగా న‌టించారు. అన్న‌మ్మ‌గా ఈశ్వ‌రీరావు పాత్ర సినిమాకి కీల‌కం. సింహ‌భాగం స‌న్నివేశాలు ఈ ముగ్గురి నేప‌థ్యంలోనే సాగుతుంటాయి. తాంత్రిక శ‌క్తులున్న మ‌హిళ‌గా ఈశ్వ‌రీరావు క‌నిపించిన తీరు, అందులో న‌ట‌న మెప్పిస్తుంది.  సోఫి, తార పాత్ర‌ల్ని పోషించిన చిన్నారులు చైత్ర‌, లీషా న‌ట‌న చాలా బాగుంది.  అవ‌స‌రాల శ్రీనివాస్ పాత్ర‌కి పెద్ద‌గా  ప్రాధాన్యం లేదు. ర‌వివ‌ర్మ త‌దిత‌రులు పాత్రల ప్రాధాన్యం మేర‌కు న‌టించారు. సాంకేతికంగా సినిమా ఉన్న‌తంగా ఉంది. కెమెరా, సంగీతం విభాగాలు మంచి ప‌నితీరుని ప్ర‌ద‌ర్శించాయి. శబ్దాల‌తోనే భ‌య‌పెట్టాడు సంగీత ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు.విష్ణు నాయ‌ర్ క‌ళా ప్ర‌తిభ తెర‌పై క‌నిపిస్తుంది. ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు భ‌య‌పెట్టే స‌న్నివేశాల్ని బాగా డిజైన్ చేసుకున్నాడు కానీ, క‌థ‌నంపైన‌,  క‌థ‌లోని భావోద్వేగాల‌పైన ఇంకొంచెం  దృష్టిపెట్టాల్సింది. నిర్మాణం ప‌రంగా లోపాలేమీ లేవు.

Renowned director Sekhar Kammula recently unveiled the lyrical song ‘Pannendu Gunjaala Pandhirla Kindha’ from Chaitanya Rao’s film “Sharathulu Varthisthayi,” which also stars Bhoomi Shetty. Directed by Kumaraswamy and produced by Nagarjuna Samala, Srish Kumar Gunda, and Dr. Krishnakanth Chittajallu under the Star Light Studios banner, the film has concluded all its production phases and is gearing up for a theatrical release.

Expressing his admiration for director Kumaraswamy’s dedication and hard work in shaping “Sharathulu Varthisthayi,” Sekhar Kammula commended the authentic Telangana essence captured in the song. Highlighting the musical brilliance of Suresh Bobbili and the poetic finesse of Peddinti Ashok Kumar, Kammula shared his anticipation that the song would become a wedding staple, drawing parallels to his own aspirations for the film “Fidaa.” Applauding Chaitanya Rao’s natural acting, Kammula extended his best wishes to the entire team, expressing confidence in the film and its songs resonating well with the audience.

Mamidi Harikrishna, discussing “Sharathulu Varthisthayi,” expressed pride in having Sekhar Kammula release a song from the film. Acknowledging Kammula’s unique filmmaking style and storytelling prowess, Harikrishna is optimistic about the song’s success at weddings. He praised the detailed portrayal of various wedding events in the song and congratulated the producers for their commendable work.

In gratitude, Chaitanya Rao thanked Ashok Kumar and Suresh Bobbili for their contributions to the song and expressed appreciation to Sekhar Kammula for the song’s release. He expressed confidence in the song resonating well during the upcoming wedding season, thanking director Kumaraswamy for the opportunity to act in “Sharathulu Varthisthayi.”

Director Kumaraswamy extended his thanks to Shekhar Kammula for supporting their project, believing that the song ‘Pannendu Gunjaala Pandhirla Kindha’ will be a highlight in “Sharathulu Varthisthayi,” hoping for audience enjoyment.

Lyricist Peddinti Ashok Kumar shared his inspiration drawn from Sekhar Kammula’s films, appreciating their portrayal of Telangana culture. He discussed the song’s depiction of various wedding events, drawing from his recent marriage experience. Ashok Kumar praised Chaitanya Rao’s performance and expressed hope for the movie’s success.

The film’s poignant scene, where the hero contemplates a simple wedding, contrasts with the heroine’s desire for a grand celebration, emphasizing the importance of creating lasting memories. The song ‘Pannendu Gunjaala Pandhirla Kindha’ serves as the backdrop, skillfully capturing the essence of a wedding with vivid descriptions and a native touch. Suresh Bobbili’s composition, enhanced by the voices of Mogulla Shankaramma, Shankar Babu, Thelu Vijaya, and Vani, adds depth and authenticity to this celebration of love and tradition.
