My Mandala: A Vast Connection Of My Inner Circle Of Life

My Mandala is different circles floating in a galaxy. My mandala is concentric, with five colorful circles encircling other circles until you get to the middle, which is a basketball, and around the circles are beautiful galaxy paint, and white splatter paint. Vibrant, hard to miss, a variety of thick stickers, a shell with a bit of sand around the edge, a neon paintbrush, a pencil, a five-legged starfish, crosses, and twelves encompassing the basketball. This mandala represents my values of what makes me myself such as a creative, religious, athlete, artist, animal lover, and more.

“Hard work leads to success,” is one of the quotes I chose to detailedly be at the top of the fourth circle. This is special and significant in my everyday life because my parents want me to work hard and be successful and happy in my life. “Pura Vida” is the other quote I chose, which is located at the bottom of the fourth circle. I chose this quote mainly because it is Costa Rica’s national saying, because it is the name of my favorite bracelet company, and because it means pure life or simple life. Costa Rica is a place I wish to live in when I’m older for so many reasons. For example, people are so nice and the animals are so unique.

My father and mother had to work extremely hard to get where they are today. My father always did poorly in school and had to work hard to get into college and get a job. My dad sacrifices cherished his time with his family and even his health to provide for us. My mother worked hard to have all A’s get into college, keep all A’s through college and then find a good job. This story has taught me that you should always work hard.

All the colors, excluding the basketball, I have chosen for my circles are colors I absolutely adore. The second circle, which is around the basketball, is lavender and I love the smell and the color. Lavender reminds me of peace and happiness. The third circle is magenta and magenta is one of the few shades of pink I like because I find it pretty. The fourth and fifth circles are two different shades of blue. The fourth circle is a bit of a light blue and the fifth circle is a bit of a darker blue. I like the color blue because it is the color of the ocean and because it comes in so many different, fantastic, and beautiful shades.

There’s a basketball in the center because basketball makes me happy. I love playing it and I enjoy playing with my teammates. I love defending, I love scoring, and I like winning. The basketball is orange because that is usually what a basketball looks like. There are twelves circling around the basketball because it has so far been my sports number and I hope it still will be for new teams in the future. I picked twelve because that’s how old I was when I started playing basketball and playing sports where you needed a number. There are two crosses around the twelves because I am a part of SMES Student Vestry, which means a lot to me because I love deepening my spirituality. There are also two hearts as well as crosses because I love helping and caring for people and animals and because I have a big heart. There is fruit in the same circle as my quotes because I like fruit, and I like cooking. I also like making and drinking frozen drinks with fruit such as smoothies and milkshakes. In the last circle, there are animals, a shell, a flower, and two leaf stickers for the reason being that I like animals, flowers, tropical leaves, and shells. The starfish and the shell represent my love for the beach and ocean life.

Around all five, different colored and sized circles, there is galaxy paint, white splatter paint, a yellow pencil, and a neon green paintbrush. I really enjoy art and the galaxy background mainly just shows my creative side.

This mandala lets light in on my values. Without these values, I wouldn’t be me and I probably wouldn’t be happy.
