Essays About Heroes: 5 Examples And Topic Ideas

Here, we’ll look at examples of essays about heroes and questions that can be used as topics for essays about an imagined or real hero.

A few different images likely come to mind when you hear the word hero. You may imagine Superman flying above the world with his superpower of flight. You may imagine a personal hero, a real person who has made a significant impact on your life for the better. You might think of a true hero as someone who has shown heroic qualities in the public eye, working to help ordinary people through difficult situations.

When writing an essay about your life hero, it’s important to consider the qualities of that person that make them stand out to you. Whether you choose to write an essay about how your mom got you through tough times and became your role model or about a political figure who made a difference in the lives of people in history, it’s key to not just focus on the person’s actions—you’ll also want to focus on the qualities that allowed them to act heroically.

Here, we’ll explore examples of hero essays and potential topics to consider when writing about a hero.

  • 2. Why Teachers Are My Heroes By Joshua Muskin
  • 3. Martin Luther King Jr.—Civil Rights Activist & Hero By Kathy Weiser-Alexander

4. Steve Prefontaine: The Track Of A Hero By Bill O’Brian

5. forget hamilton, burr is the real hero by carey wallace, topic ideas for essays about heroes, 1. what makes a hero, 2. what are the most important characteristics of heroes in literature, 3. what constitutes a heroic act, 4. is selflessness required for heroism, 1.  these are the heroes of the coronavirus pandemic  by ruth marcus.

Examples of essays about heroes: These Are The Heroes Of The Coronavirus Pandemic By Ruth Marcus

“Is this what they signed up for? There is some danger inherent in the ordinary practice of medicine, but not this much. I confess: I do not know that I would do the same in their circumstances; I am not sure I am so generous or so brave. If my child were graduating from medical school, how would I deal with her being sent, inadequately protected, into an emergency room? If my husband were a physician, would I send him off to the hospital — or let him back into the house in the interim?” Ruth Marcus

Healthcare workers have had no choice but to go above and beyond in recent years. In this essay, Marcus discusses the heroism of those in the healthcare field. He delves into the traits (including selflessness and courage) that make doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers heroes.

2.  Why Teachers Are My Heroes   By Joshua Muskin

“Teachers are my heroes because they accept this responsibility and try extremely hard to do this well even when the conditions in which they work are far from ideal; at least most do. Our jobs as society, education systems, and parents is to do our best to be strong allies to teachers, since their success is essential to ours.” Joshua Muskin

In this essay, Dr. Muskin discusses the many challenges teachers face and what parents, administrators, and education researchers can do to help teachers support students. Muskin explains that most teachers go above and beyond the call of duty to serve their classrooms.

3.  Martin Luther King Jr.—Civil Rights Activist & Hero   By Kathy Weiser-Alexander

“During this nonviolent protest, activists used boycotts, sit-ins, and marches to protest segregation and unfair hiring practices that caught the attention of the entire world. However, his tactics were put to the test when police brutality was used against the marchers, and King was arrested. But, his voice was not silenced, as he wrote his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” to refute his critics.” Kathy Weiser-Alexander

In this essay, Weiser-Alexander details both the traits and the actions of Dr. King before and during the civil rights movement. The author touches on King’s commitment to justice, persistence, and willingness to stand for his beliefs despite difficult circumstances.

“I remember this so vividly because Prefontaine was a hero to me, a hero in a way that no one was before, or really has been since. A British commentator once called him “an athletic Beatle.” If so, his persona was much more Lennon than McCartney. Actually, I thought of him more as Mick Jagger — or ultimately James Dean.” Bill O’Brian

A hero to many in the running world, Prefontaine’s confidence, unique style, and unmatched athletic ability have been heralded for decades. In this essay, O’Brian shares how he, as a distance runner during the era of Pre, related to his struggles and ambition.

“Burr fought against an ugly tide of anti-immigrant sentiment in the young republic, led by Hamilton’s Federalist party, which suggested that anyone without English heritage was a second-class citizen, and even challenged the rights of non-Anglos to hold office. In response, Burr insisted that anyone who contributed to society deserved all the rights of any other citizen, no matter their background.” Carey Wallace

In this essay, Wallace explains why Aaron Burr, the lifelong nemesis of founding father Alexander Hamilton, should be considered a historical hero. This essay exposes someone seen as a villain but much of society with a different take on their history.

It can be interesting to think about your definition of a hero. When describing what the term hero means to you, you may want to choose a person (or a few people) you look up to as a hero to solidify your point. You might want to include fictional characters (such as those in the Marvel universe) and real-life brave souls, such as police officers and firefighters.

A word of caution: stay away from the cliche opening of describing how the dictionary defines a hero. Instead, lead-in with a personal story about a hero who has affected your life. While talking about a public figure as a hero is acceptable, you may find it easier to write about someone close to you who you feel has displayed heroic qualities. Writing about a family member or friend who has shown up as a heroic main character in your life can be just as exciting as writing about a real or imagined superhero.

From Beowulf to Marvel comics, heroes in literature take on many different traits. When writing an essay on what trait makes a hero come alive in a short story, novel, or comic, choose a few of your favorite heroes and find common themes that they share.

Perhaps your favorite heroes are selfless and are willing to put themselves last in the name of sacrifice for others. Perhaps they’re able to dig deep into the truth, being honest even when it’s hard, for the greater good. There’s no need to list endless heroes to make your point—choosing three or four heroes from literature can be a great way to support your argument about what characteristics define heroism in literature.

When someone is named a hero in real life, we often picture them saving people from a burning building or performing a difficult surgical operation. It can be difficult to pin down exactly what constitutes a heroic act. When writing about what constitutes a heroic act, think about people who go above and beyond, performing feats of courage, honesty, and bravery to support themselves or others. When writing about what constitutes a heroic act, discuss real-life or literary examples of heroes at work.

To many people, being a hero means giving back to others. While giving something away or trading in one’s well-being for others can certainly be seen as a heroic act, many people wonder if selflessness is required for heroism or if a hero can serve the greater good in a way that also supports their happiness. When writing about whether selflessness is required for heroism, choose examples from literature and real-life to support your point.

Tip: If writing an essay sounds like a lot of work, simplify it. Write a simple 5 paragraph essay instead.

For instance, your topic is ‘My father, my hero!’ Here is how you should begin writing your essay.

My father is a gem of a person. He knows how to take care of his family in times of distress. Apart from this, he is a great teacher, impacting the lives of millions of people. His noble ways of teaching and sharing knowledge make him a superhero not only for me but for all those people whose lives he touched.

My father had a small family. He was the only son of his parents. His parents loved him but were very strict. His childhood days were carefree, but he was a responsible kid, aware of his duty towards his parents. He would never disobey them. His love was unconditional for his parents, and he would go out of his way to serve them. Since he did not have his siblings to support him, he led quite a lonely life. He was a self-made man who struggled in his early years to make a name of himself. His teachers loved him for his honesty and intelligence.

As he grew up to be a man, he was loyal to his job and family. He left no stone unturned in serving his aging parents. He got married and had kids. His love continued to grow for his family. For the sake of our happiness, he would sacrifice his little acts of happiness. He would feel happy when we were happy. The students he taught learned acts of graciousness and nobility from him. They would yearn to be like him, striving in little ways to become a personality he would cherish. Simple acts of kindness made him a superhero. He became a hero in my eyes and in the lives of all those people he affected in one way or the other.

From the milkman to the newspaperman, every person would greet him with great respect. The respect he earned showed how loved and revered he was. His altruism, chivalry, and bravery were exhibited in daily activities. He was a man of integrity, values, and principles. All these things and a lot more made him different from other superheroes. He was neither a celebrity nor an action hero, but he was a great man of spirit who lived in people's hearts.

He jumped into the national movement of India and became the President of the National Congress in 1938.

Activities for Freedom Movement:

During the second world war, he was interned in his own house. But one night he escaped from his house throwing dust into the vigilant eyes of the gourds. He left India in disguise and went first to Germany and then to Singapore where with the help of Rashbihari Bose he organised the Azad Hind Fouz . It was here that Subhash Chandra Bose began to be called ‘Netaji’ by the soldiers of the I.N.A. With this army, Netaji started his heroic and triumphant March up to Imphal, the capital of Manipur but thereafter had to retreat for want of food and arms. With his heart writhing in pain Netaji left for Tokyo in a plane but alas never to return.

Conclusion:

There is a mystery around Netaji’s death. Though there is a rumour that Netaji died in a plane crash, many Indians still believe that Netaji is still alive. Dead or alive our beloved Netaji will remain ever alive in our mind.

Essay on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj- 300 Words

Essay on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj edumantra.net

My favourite hero in history is Chhatrapati Shivaji. He was a Maratha belonging to Maharashtra. He was born to Shahji Bhonsle and his wife Jija Bai. His year of birth was 1627. Quite early in age, he came to know that Shiah rulers of Bijapur and Golkonda were the enemies of the small state of the Marathas. Shivaji by his courage and bravery foiled (defeated) the nefarious (wicked) designs of these enemies. When Shivaji was a child, he camp-under the influence of his mother Jija Bai and Dada Kondev. His mentor (trusted advisor) and teacher were Gum Ram Das Samartha. Jija Bai told him stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata. She inculcated (impressed upon the mind) in Shivaji heroism and selfless love for his motherland Shivaji became a staunch Hindu. He was a true saviour of the Hindus. He fought relentless wars on many fronts. He waged a war against the Mughals. Aurangzeb, the Mughal Emperor was his greatest rival. He wanted to establish a complete Muslim State in India. Shivaji checked him tooth and nail. Once he was taken to prison along with his son Sambha ji. Both father and son escaped from captivity. On reaching Mahal ashtra, Shivaji defeated the Mughal army many times. He recaps turned all the Mughal forts. They were forty in number. Very soon the local rulers of Bijapur and Ahmed Nagar bowed before the unchallenged might of this great Hindu ruler. He twice sacked the port city of Surat. He took away pearls, jewels and gold worth crores of rupees. Shivaji’s coronation took place in 1674. The cruel hand of death did not spare many years for this great hero. He died as early as 1680, leaving behind a great reputation and a well-established Maratha State. Had he lived a bit longer, the great Mughal Aurangzeb would have licked the earth. Shivaji was a man of guiltless character. He had great respect for a Muslim lady, the Quran and the mosque. Whereas his adversary Aurangzeb was bent up extinguishing Hinduism from this land. What a great comparison indeed! Shivaji is head and shoulders above the rulers of his time.

100 Words Essay on My Favourite Superhero

Introduction.

My favourite superhero is Spider-Man. He is a popular character in the Marvel Universe, created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko.

Why Spider-Man?

Spider-Man, also known as Peter Parker, is a high school student who gained superpowers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. I admire him because he is not only strong and agile but also intelligent and kind-hearted.

Spider-Man’s Powers

Spider-Man can stick to walls, has a sixth sense for danger, and possesses incredible strength and agility. His intelligence helps him invent gadgets like web-shooters.

Spider-Man teaches us that with great power comes great responsibility. He is my favourite superhero because he uses his powers to help others and make the world a safer place.

250 Words Essay on My Favourite Superhero

Every child grows up idolizing superheroes, but some of us never really outgrow that fascination. My favourite superhero is Batman, a character that embodies resilience, intelligence, and the human spirit’s indomitable will.

The Appeal of Batman

What sets Batman apart from other superheroes is his lack of superhuman abilities. Instead, he relies on his intellect, physical prowess, detective skills, and technological advancements. This makes him relatable and aspirational. He’s a testament to the potential of human capability, which is a compelling concept, especially for a young mind.

The Dark Knight’s Resilience

Batman’s resilience is another trait that draws me to him. Despite facing numerous adversities, he never succumbs to despair. Instead, he uses his pain as motivation to fight crime and injustice. This resilience is an essential attribute that I try to emulate in my personal and academic life.

Symbol of Justice

Batman is also a symbol of justice. He operates in a city plagued by corruption and crime, yet he never compromises his principles. This unwavering commitment to justice is inspiring and serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up for what is right, even when it is difficult.

In conclusion, Batman’s appeal lies in his relatability, resilience, and unwavering commitment to justice. 500 Words Essay on My Favourite Superhero

Superheroes have always been a source of fascination for many, offering an escape into a world where good triumphs over evil. Among the myriad of superheroes, my favourite is Batman, a character who embodies the human spirit’s resilience and determination.

The Enigma of Batman

Unlike other superheroes, Batman, also known as Bruce Wayne, doesn’t possess any superhuman abilities. He is a man shaped by personal tragedy, using his wealth and resources to transform himself into a symbol of fear for the criminal underworld. Batman’s lack of superpowers makes him more relatable and realistic, highlighting the potential within every individual to become a hero.

Humanity and Vulnerability

Batman’s humanity is one of his most appealing characteristics. He is a superhero who battles not only the villains of Gotham City but also his inner demons. His vulnerability, seen through his constant struggle with his past and moral dilemmas, makes him a complex character. This complexity adds depth to his character, making him more than just a crime-fighting superhero.

Batman is a symbol of justice, a vigilante who operates in the shadows to maintain balance in Gotham City. He adheres to a strict moral code, refusing to kill, which sets him apart from his adversaries. This unwavering commitment to justice, even in the face of adversity, makes Batman a beacon of hope for Gotham’s citizens.

Intellect and Physical Prowess

Batman’s intellect is as impressive as his physical prowess. He is a detective, a strategist, a scientist, and a martial artist. His intelligence and physical capabilities are a testament to his dedication and discipline. These attributes underline the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement, making Batman an inspirational figure.

The Dark Knight’s Influence

Batman’s influence extends beyond the comic book pages and the silver screen. He has become a cultural icon, inspiring countless adaptations and interpretations. His enduring popularity underscores the timeless appeal of his character – a man who rises above his personal tragedy to fight for justice.

Batman, my favourite superhero, represents the triumph of human will and intellect over adversity. He is a symbol of resilience, justice, and hope. His complexity, humanity, and determination make him a compelling character, resonating with audiences worldwide. Batman’s influence and the lessons he imparts – about justice, morality, resilience, and self-improvement – continue to inspire and captivate, making him a superhero for all times.

essay in my favourite hero

English Summary

My Favourite Hero Essay

L.B Shastri did not hail from any aristocratic or rich family. He belonged to the class of people without pedigree. Rather he had a humble origin. He rose from the ranks. He got enrolled himself as a humble worker of the Congress Party and participated actively in the freedom struggle.

His selfless service to the cause of the country enabled him to climb the ladder of popularity. In the post-independence period, he served on the U.P. and central government as a minister. Finally, he came to head the central government in 1964.

Lal Bahadur Shastri had great respect for moral and spiritual values. He always kept the national interests above his personal interests. Rather he had no personal interests at all. He led a life of simplicity. He was a true Gandhian. No temptation could lure him away from his chosen path.

Unlike others he had no love for money and power. He strictly adhered to the politics of principles. He had firm faith in ‘work-ethics. He might not have tall physical stature but his political stature was too tall to be equalled by any Prime Minister of India.

He did not put on the mask of secularism and socialism as was done by Pt. Nehru nor was he ambitious like the latter. He did not induct any of his sons in the party or the government on any responsible post. In fact, he was opposed to the concept of dynastic rule. He believed in fair-play and justice.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was the Railway Minister when a terrible railway accident took place in Ambala. Shastriji owned the moral responsibility for the accident and resigned from the ministry. He set the example for others to follow. But these days morality has taken a nose-dive.

Since the death of Shastriji hundreds of railway, accidents have taken place but no minister has ever resigned on moral grounds. Scandal after scandal has come to limelight, involving even Prime Ministers like Rajiv Gandhi and P.V. Narasimha Rao, but neither of them had resigned on moral ground. Indian polity is certainly lacking in conscience-keepers.

Lal Bahadur Shastri did not like a life of pomp and show. His household duties were performed by his wife who was equally simple. He sent his sons not to academies but to the schools where the sons of the poor got the education.

He had a good rapport with the people. He listened to their demands and tried to redress their genuine grievances. He was never arrogant because he did not allow power to get into his head.

Shastriji was a practical man. He did not believe in political gimmicks He practised what he preached. He worked to make India self-reliant strong. When the western countries refused to supply foodgrains to India, Shastriji gave a call to the countrymen to observe fast on every Monday to overcome the food crisis. Shastriji himself observe fast on Mondays.

Shastriji wanted to create a sense of self-respect and self-discipline among the people. When Pakistan attacked India in 1965, he took the fight into the enemy’s territory and managed to inflict a crushing defeat on the enemy.

He respected the opposition and got their co-operation in tackling any problem. India India was unfortunate because the icy hands of death snatched this gem away from us in 1966.

My Favourite Hero

A hero that chose is Harry Potter because he's not like Superman or Spiderman he doesn't wear a costume and he is kind of unique. Harry goes through many journeys but today I am going to talk about the last Deathly Hallows part two mostly and some of the others books/movies too. Stage two, the aid or helper(s), presents itself when Harry is brought to Hogwarts by Rubeus Hagrid. Hagrid is a wizard just like most of the people in the story are and he is kind of like a counselor or a person that knows and has everything outside of Hogwarts just in case anyone needs it. He helps Harry when he first gets to school, when Harry is fighting his enemy Voldemort, and just being a friend. Harry's second helper is Professor Albus Dumbeldore and like Harry's guardian and the head or principal of the school. He helps Harry through his hard times and understanding what Hogwarts is and why he belongs there, since his parents died when he was only a baby. In stage 5, helpers, Harry meets two people when he gets into Gryffindor. The first being his best friend Ron Weasly who is a red head boy that has a huge family and a always making people, most of the time. The second helper being Herminone Granger she is the strong female role in all the books and has been there to help Harry since he first arrived at Hogwarts. Herminone and Ron are helpers throughout all six stories. The fights and the parts of the book/movie that keeps people in suspense is Voldemort who is Harry's mortal enemy, the guy who killed his parents, the person that no one talks about or even says his name. When is killed Harry's parents he left this mark or scar in the shape of lightning on Harry's forehead, so every time he close by or even near Harry it puts a tole on him and effects him because he can feel. That scar doesn't make him weak but it does and other ways it makes him strong. In deathly hallows stage 6, the supreme ordeal, is when Harry finds out where Voldemort and goes and confronts him, with no backup no helpers, nothing. When Harry confronts Voldemort he turns around and says to him " the boy who once lived has come to die" and says some spell that "killed" Harry and then it goes into a bright light. That part left everyone in suspense because you don't know if he is going to die or live, what's going on, why did that happen. It just has you asking yourself all those question and confused. But by the end of the story Harry doesn't end up being dead, he talks to Dumbeldore who dead and Dumbeldore tells him that he can't die it's not his time. Harry comes back and has this big fight with Voldemort. By the end is when stage 8 starts, the return. The story jumps ahead 19 years, Harry is married to Ginny, Ron's sister, and they have two kids. Ron and Herminone are married and have two kids. They each are sending them off to Hogwarts and they all lived happily ever after.

Herminone and Ron are Harry's main helpers. They are there when he is upset, help him through fights with Voldemort and when he looking for stuff for example the three headed dog they all work together to figure out a way to get the dog to go to sleep so that they can sneak passed him. Herminone and Ron are Harry's roommates at Hogwart in the house Gryffindor and his best friends too. Herminone is the strong, independent, smart, and tells Harry and Ron how stupid or dumb there ideas are. Ron is there when Harry needs, Ron came up with a way to get the three head dog asleep. In the end when the story jumps 19 years they are still best friend even though Herminone and Ron started a family and Harry and Ginny too. So overall Harry Potter and whatever he's doing in each book always has his helpers and aids, there always come to a supreme ordeal or big fight between Harry and Voldemort and the books/movies always come to happy or suspicious ending. Harry is always on a mission and is always going to be on a mission to find Voldemort and kill him for good until the last book/movie.

My Father Is My Hero: An Epitome of Dedication, Humility, and Compassion

Introduction

In the tapestry of my life, my father is the thread that weaves together values of dedication, humility, and compassion. He is not just a parent but my hero, an extraordinary figure whose influence has shaped the person I am today. His life story is a testament to the power of hard work, kindness, and selflessness.

My father’s journey began with a remarkable sense of obedience and determination, qualities instilled in him from a young age. His parents, my grandparents, often regale us with tales of his unswerving commitment to his studies and the goals he set for himself. Whether it was acing his exams or excelling in sports, he constantly worked toward his objectives. This determination left an indelible mark on his character and inspired not only his siblings but also his peers.

Yet, his brilliance in academics and sports was only part of the story. What truly set my father apart was his compassionate nature. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to fellow students, making him a beloved figure in his school. This sense of responsibility extended to his family, where he actively participated in household chores, helping my grandmother without hesitation. These actions instilled in him a profound understanding of the importance of contributing to family well-being.

My father’s dedication to education and commitment to hard work were mirrored in his pursuit of a better life for our family. Despite facing numerous challenges, he continued to strive for excellence. His relentless dedication to his work served as a shining example, demonstrating that success was attainable through perseverance and determination. His career achievements were a source of pride for our family, and we learned from him the importance of setting and working toward our goals.

However, what sets my father apart is his belief in leading a simple life. Despite the means to afford a luxurious lifestyle, he chooses to live in a modest flat. His values of contentment and minimalism are lessons he imparts to us daily. He teaches us that happiness is not found in material possessions but in the simplicity of life and the richness of experiences. These values have shaped our worldview and instilled in us a profound appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

One of the most awe-inspiring facets of my father’s character is his commitment to giving back to society. He dedicates a significant portion of his earnings to social work. He actively participates in a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food and education to underprivileged children. Every Saturday, he selflessly spends his time with these children, distributing not only food but also love and care. His actions reflect a broader lesson: that success is not solely measured by personal achievements but by the positive impact one can make in the lives of others. His dedication to social work has instilled in us a deep sense of responsibility to contribute to our community and help those in need.

In conclusion, my father is not just a parent but an embodiment of dedication, humility, and compassion. He is my hero, an inspiring figure who has profoundly influenced my life and the lives of our family. His unwavering support, his dedication to his responsibilities, and his compassionate heart make him the true hero in my life. His life story and values inspire us to become better human beings, to live a simple yet fulfilling life, and to remember the importance of giving back to society. My father’s influence is a beacon of light guiding my way, and I am eternally grateful for the lessons he imparts and the love he shares with our family and the wider community.

  • 2. My Hero Is A Hero What Makes My Hero a Hero The word "hero" is a small word with a big meaning. A hero is someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Depending on who your hero is, and what they do, show different characteristics. In numerous ways, my Uncle Clint is my personal hero. In my eyes, his characteristics are: courage, bravery, and selflessness. He is brave because he sacrificed his life to fight for our country. He rejoined the military when he did not have to, just to be able to serve his country, knowing he would be deployed. Most people would not want to risk their life, but my Uncle Clint did. He does not know just how much he means to me and my family. My Uncle Clint has always been someone that has been there for me and loved me. In my eyes he would be a hero to me even if he did not go into the military. Him joining in the military, and rejoining a second time showed that he did not give up. It showed that, that is something he put his mind to and was not going to stop until he finished. My Uncle Clint is a strong man who is teaching everyone around him from right and wrong. He wants the best for everyone he meets. He is not one that will let his family go without. He makes sure to put everyone else above him. My Uncle Clint will always be my hero. What surprises me is how many people look up to him, for example, his son. Wesley wants to join and serve his country just like his dad. When I see someone who knows my Uncle Clint, they tell me just how blessed I am for him to be my uncle. It is crazy how he could impact as many lives as he has. He would lay down his life for anyone. • 3. Spiderman Hero Spider–Man is one of my favorite heroes of all time. Spider–Man was a teenager named Peter Parker with spider like abilities. Peter visited a laboratory to see a famous doctor and was bit by a spider that gave him superpowers. Peter was given powers such as super strength, fast reflexes and the ability to shoot webs from his hands. There are four different movies of Spider–Man fighting villains. My favorite villain that Spider–Man faced was Doctor Octopus. Doctor Octopus was an intelligent mad scientist (Otto Octavius), who built four, powerful mechanical appendages and attached the appendages to himself. In Spider–Man 2, Doctor Octopus would rob banks so that he can buy expensive equipment for his lab. Doctor Octopus believed that his four mechanical appendages was enough to stop Spider–Man, but he was unsuccessful in doing so. Spider–Man ripped off the four mechanical appendages and locked him in jail. Doctor Octopus is one of many villains Spider–Man had to fight. Spider–Man 2 is my favorite movie because even though Spider–Man was new at being a superhero he prevailed over evil. Another reason why Spider–Man 2 is my favorite movie is because the effects in the movie with Doctor Octopus' four mechanical appendages was amazing. • 5. My Hero Is A Hero The idea of a hero is very prominent in today's society. At the start of a person's life, a hero is a grown man wearing tights who flies around saving helpless citizens from evil scientists. As we age, however, the definition of what a true hero is will change. A police officer charging headfirst into a hostage situation is undoubtable a hero, but a father who works eighty hours a week, so his children can have a brighter future, and still makes time to be there for all of their important moments is just as heroic. After my superhero phase, I had a fairly common hero for young boys, the men and women of the United States military. With over one million men and women serving in the United States armed forces, this may be the largest group of heroes in the world. These men and women devote their lives to maintaining the freedoms that we enjoy each and every day. While many serve, and then return to their families, far too many never make the journey home. Standing for bravery and strength, the men and women of the United States armed forces were, and still are, my heroes. With the dream of carrying on the great tradition of service to my country, I planned to join the army after college. I longed to be the person that people looked up to and appreciated for keeping them safe. The plan was to become a commissioned officer leading a team of infantrymen with bravery and determination. Reality, however, reared its ugly head in the form of a pair of thick glasses. My dream was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Hero : My Best Friend Yesterday afternoon I lost my teacher, my hero, my best friend, my favorite person––my father. We knew the inevitable was coming three months ago, and my emotions have been all over the place. I have been preparing myself, but it's beginning to hit me and words can not describe how much I'll miss him. Dad was diagnosed with lymphoma of the brain in June, and even though we were warned it might change his personality in a negative way, my father had too much sweetness about him to let that happen. As usual, he faced adversity with courage, grace, and with a smile. He showed us once again how to be an outstanding example of a human being. Dad was tall, strong, handsome, gentle, kind and fun. He had a passion for anything with an engine. He rode motorcycles. After he retired he made a yearly trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with his nephew, Dennis. His boyhood dream was to fly airplanes, and he made it happen. He flew his airplane as long as I've known him, and the last time he piloted his plane was May of this year. He traveled the world while working for Learjet. He loved a slice of pie, a cold beer, animals, his friends and his family. He loved life. A real talker, Dad always had a story to tell about growing up on a north–central Kansas farm with his parents and nine siblings during the 1930's and 40's. He served in the Air Force and then moved to Wichita where he met our beautiful, French–speaking mother from south Louisiana whose job transferred her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Personal Hero Walt Disney once said, "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." My grandfather, like Walt Disney, followed his dreams to start a company and provide for his family. While following his dreams and overcoming hardships, my grandpa, Charles Kuo*, showed courage, compassion, intelligence, and persistence. These attributes made him my personal hero. The journey to reach his goals started when he married my grandmother in 1971. At the time, my grandpa was an electrician at Taiwan Power Company and my grandmother, Kitty*, worked as a clerk in a Japanese firm. Together, they decided that they would combine their earnings, which would give them just enough money to rent an apartment and to buy other necessities of life, like food and water. After figuring this part out, they married and were both filled with joy and happiness. However, their newfound happiness was quickly followed by hardships and sadness, like how bright days are always followed by dark nights. Months after their marriage, my grandmother went to work, noticeably pregnant. As soon as the company found out, she was fired – unbeknownst to my grandparents, pregnancies and marriages were not permitted by the firm. My grandparents were devastated! They no longer had enough money for both food and shelter; they could only choose one. Not long after, their baby, whom they named Ben*, was born. At first, all was well. He not only was a great baseball player for the New York Yankees, but a family man who fought a terrible disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis more commonly known as ALS. Even though he lost his life to this terrible disease, he did so with honor. He tried never to show fear of what he was going through rather he showed honesty and compassion to others. He was as strong a man as the trophy for the World Series winning team. He let the world know that even if you are having physical problems, you can still make a difference. As a huge Yankees fan, and someone who holdsLou Gehrig as one of the most influencing baseball players, I like this opportunity to honor him as my hero. I have often watched an old video of the message he delivered at Yankee Stadium at such a hard and difficult moment in his life. The sky weeped as Lou Gehrig stood in front of his fans that loved him and delivered a speech as if they were his family. It caused such a buzz with his fans. I don't think Lou Gehrig ever meant for his farewell speech to make such a huge impact in the fan's lives, as it did. He let such beautiful pearls of wisdom slip from his mouth without even knowing. My dad said it was suppose to be his response to his retirement from baseball, but it ended up being a powerful motivational speech about appreciation of life. He simply loved baseball, his family, and fans. As a baseball player, he is admired by many people both young and old for his perseverance. Based on his statistics, I was impressed. He never was bragging about his statistics, just how much he loved the game. His Hall of Fame status as a first baseman with the New York Yankeeswas amazing. He hit the ball with a whack! This led him to 475 career home runs and held the streak for the most consecutive games played. These are proof as to how much he loved the game. Even during his speech, he began to cry hard because he was thanking the fans for watching him play and cheering him on. He spoke mostly about being grateful. Lou Gehrig played 2,130 consecutive games before he deliver his short speech where he said "I am the luckiest man on the face of the earth" even though Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Hero : My Best Friend When I first met that short, hyper, blonde, I had no idea how much she would impact people's lives...including mine. Mallory will forever be one of my best friends, the strongest person I've ever known, and my role model. Without her, I never would have learned how truly important life is; and not just our own, everyone around us. I could see it in Mal, that love for everyone she came in contact with. She wanted every single person who met her to leave with a smile, I know I certainly did. When I first met Mallory Norrell, my first thought was, how can someone be that happy ALL THE TIME? It was a warm, October day. But to me, it was a horrible day to be cramped in a car heading to the Grand Rapids church with about five people I didn't know for a 24 hour retreat. But once we got there, I was introduced to Mal. She immediately welcomed me with open arms and proceeded tell me all about her her house between Hibbing and Duluth, homeschooling, and her sister, who was also Mal's best friend, Brie. Needless to say, we became fast friends. She was already an incredible example to my seventh grade self before she even knew it. After that day, we kept in touch as much as possible and met up frequently at different retreats. As we talked, Mallory started to tell me about some pain that started in her jaw and slowly moved down her neck. At first they thought it was a toothache or some kind of bruise in her jaw. But on December 21, 2016, doctors confirmed that it was cancer that was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Favorite Superhero Everyone has their favorite superhero. Everyone is drawn to a particular attribute synonymous with that superhero; some like the Hulk for his superhuman strength, some like Superman for his ability to fly, and some like the Flash for his lightning speed. I loved Wonder Woman as a child. She kicked butt, yet she always looked flawless. I wanted to be her when I grew up. Now that I am grown, my views have changed. Single parents display undeniable strength, selflessness, and self–determination. They are the best role models. Therefore, I believe single parents are superheroes. I know because I was raised by one. Indeed, I believe single parents are stronger than a fifth of whiskey. Raising a child is hard, especially when you are left alone. When my mother exchanged vows with my father, she never imaged three years later she would become a single mother. She woke up with the weight of the world on her shoulders, but she handled it with grace and dignity. My mom had to take on the role of both mother and father. She was the person there through every sickness, hissy fit, and celebration. My mother lived off minimal sleep. She worked long hours at the jobsite. Then, mother came home to cook, clean, and make sure I had everything I needed. She would come home exhausted; however, I never heard her complain. Instead, she would sing, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. I believe a hero to me is someone who goes above and beyond or isn't satisfied with being average. A hero is someone who puts their own life at risk in order to save someone else. A hero is also someone who knows what matters in life and doesn't let that slip through their fingers. A hero is someone who is determined to do the right thing and make sure others are doing the right thing. The hero in my life is my dad. The only thing that could compare to his love for his family, was his love for his country. In his life he would have to make many sacrifices for his country, and the second would be supporting his wife and kids. He took on hardships with ease, he always had a certain calmness to him, this is something I idolize about him, I would like to learn how to act this way. In 1948, my grandpap enlisted into the US army, because he knew he was too young and he didn't have enough money to get married. He knew by joining the military, it would open new doors for him. In order to sign up, he changed his birth certificate. So he said bye to his girlfriend, my grandmother, and left for basic training. In 1949, my grandpap was sent to Korea. While in the military, he and my grandmother would write to each other, to keep their relationship in tact. He would serve three chaos filled years in Korea. While in Korea, he was wounded in three different places during two different occasions. The first time he was wounded by a hand–grenade, he was hit in the head, which caused some impairment in his right eye, and he was also hit in the foot, he spent three months in a hospital where his toe was amputated. • 13. My Hero Essay : A Hero In My Eyes A hero in my eyes in not someone who saves you, not someone who you is the perfect citizen in the community, not someone who is the most liked or most popular and famous. A hero in my eyes is someone who makes you take a look at yourself, a hero is someone who makes you want to be a better person. I know this might sound cheesy but it's the absolute truth my Hero is my significant other, my boyfriend Jahi Woods. He has molded me into a hard working, fun loving person that I never used to be. I'm thankful for him not just because he is my boyfriend but because before all of the "I love you"s and all the "Goodnight"s he was and still will always be my best friend. My first reason Jahi is my Hero is because he's been through everything you can think of, watching someone die in his arms, being homeless, not having a christmas or thanksgiving get together, to having three jobs his own house and paid off two brand new cars. He has such a sensible way of handling life he has the greatest imagination his reach has no end to what he can do, he has had an excuse for everyone else and what they had done to him but that is because he has the biggest heart and trusts people to often and too much. My Second reason my boyfriend is my hero is because he's kept my head up through the two and a half years we have been together from family problems in my life to giving me advice on what I should buy. "He's my Rock" is what I should say but i'm not in to cliches and I think that I could sum it up all in one sentence, "I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him." I was depressed once I got out of middle school and just finished ninth grade because I was bullied my entire life and I had no sense of confidence whatsoever. Once I met him and still to this day he compliments me probably a low guess 30 times a day. My Third reasoning for choosing my other half is because he has molded me into a new person, if it wasn't for him I would be a sad, depressed, self hating black wearing girl who was fat and had no voice for herself. He helped me avoid that I know that with him I could accomplish anything. I could rule the world with him by my side, do anything I set my mind too with him and this ring on my finger. These 2 things keep me happy in life and they are all I need to get through anything in my life and help me follow my motto. These 2 things are also the things I treasure most in my life. In my friends, I value their ability to make me laugh, no matter the circumstances. There is not a day in my life where my friends don't make me laugh. I am always doubting myself and if I could, it would be the thing I would change. As for my family, I would change how loud we are. We are always talking really loudly and it's something I don't like most of the time. The characteristic I like most in a woman is her humor; I always like when people can make me laugh. As for a man, I like when they are goodhearted. One trait I deplore in myself is my laziness. I always want to get out and do things, but I use my laziness as an excuse, and that's something I hate. In others, the trait I most deplore is unfriendliness. Phrases that I overuse are "you know what?", "OMG", "like", "why not?". Some people in my life impact it more then they know. In my life, my biggest heroes are my parents. They are someone that I can always look up to for advice, laughter, and happiness. A person in my life I admire is my brother. He is always there for me and isn't afraid to work for what he wants, stand up for what he believes in, and share his thoughts and opinions, all the time. As long as I can remember, my mom has always been the one beside me and supporting me in what I do. My father was around, but he was also, in a way, absent. He didn't care. My mother did all the work around the house, including supporting the family emotionally. She and my father are no longer together, and I honestly don't know how she lasted as long as she did. My mom is a strong woman that inspires me day in and day out. When I was little, I loved taking part in the community plays. For a while, my mom was working two jobs at once. She would come home late, absolutely exhausted, and fall asleep on the couch. Most nights I would have to wake her up and tell her to go to bed. Everything she did was for us, to keep us floating above water. We lived like that for a year and a half. After finishing my freshman year of highschool, we moved to Austin. We shared a three bedroom apartment with my uncle. After a year, my uncle moved out and we had to downgrade to a one bedroom. My mom let me have the one room. There's a bed placed where a dining table would normally be, and that's where her "room" is. My mom currently works as a montessori teacher in Kyle, Texas. • 17. My Favorite Character Essay When you look back and reminisce about your childhood, what are some of the best memories you have? Growing up, my brother Ryan and I were the best of friends. One of our favorite things to do together, was watch my favorite movie, Monster's Inc. We would always make popcorn, grab a bunch of blankets, and cozy up on the couch– we had an unbreakable bond. I remember how Ryan and I watched Monster's Inc so many times, I would always call him "Kitty", like Boo refers to Sully throughout the movie. I loved Monster's Inc so much, because of the cute little characters. Some of them were unappealing and scary, like Mr. Waternoose, but most were happy – go– lucky monsters. Mike Wazowski and Sully were my favorite characters. I liked Mike Wazowski's humor. He always added a little spunk to everything he did. Sully was also one of my favorite characters, because of how he protected Boo. The fact that he looked like fluffy cotton candy also intrigued my six– year– old self. I admired the bond Mike and Sully had. Mike would do anything for his best friend, even if he knew it was dangerous. With knowing that the touch of a child was deadly to monsters, they did everything they could to protect Boo. Even if they were not the cause to why she got out of her room in the first place. My least favorite character was Randall the chameleon. The way he schemed and connived to get what he wanted, made him one of the villains in the movie. MHA Characters Who Need More Screen Time in Season 7

  • Some My Hero Academia characters with unique abilities are in danger of being sidelined due to the large cast size.
  • Neijire, Kirishima, and Todoroki's siblings need more development and time in the spotlight to showcase their potential.
  • Characters like Momo, Shinso, and La Brava offer untapped potential and deserve more focus to enrich the storyline in the upcoming season.

Shonen anime often comes with relatively large casts of characters. This offers more opportunities for the writer to explore more specific power sets than those given to the protagonist, make some fun new designs, and build out the world as a whole. Having a large cast isn't inherently a bad thing, but it also means that not every single character will get their deserved time in the spotlight. There is only so much screen time to go around, and even some of the biggest fan favorites will end up relegated to the background.

My Hero Academia has a gigantic cast and always has. Not just counting the entirety of Class 1-A, the story is full of colorful and interesting characters, from its heroes to its villains. However, the sheer number of characters involved means that there are some who just don't get as much development as they deserve. As season seven has finally begun, fans are looking at a handful of characters who deserve a little bit more time in the spotlight, and hoping they'll finally get it.

The 25 Most Popular My Hero Academia Characters

Neijire hado gets way less attention than the other big three members.

Being a girl in shonen anime is already a tricky proposition, but when the show itself plays up your ability and then does nothing to focus on you, it feels all the worse. Neijire is one of the "Big Three" students at UA, but Mirio and Tamaki have had the majority of the spotlight.

The audience does get to see Nejire in action occasionally, but she hasn't been given a lot of time to have the same depth as her counterparts. Her fun design, bubbly personality, and interesting Quirk should be enough to give her more screen time, especially when Mirio's abilities are gone. Hopefully, season seven will give her something more to do.

Kirishima's Status As Bakugo's Morality Pet Has Been Sidelined Lately

Kirishima was set up relatively early on as the morality pet that Bakugo needed — someone who could stand at his side and calm him down. In a way, the interactions Bakugo had with Kirishima made Bakugo more open to positive social change. Kirishima himself is also a fun character who got a lot of focus during the Overhaul arc.

Since the Overhaul arc, however, Kirishima has been pushed off to the side like most of Class 1-A, despite his incredibly useful ability against characters who rely on brute force. Kirishima can tank a hit — it's one of the things that Bakugo likes about him — and it's a shame that Kirishima doesn't have more to do. Kirishima was referred to by Horikoshi as the "glue" that held the group together, and it would be nice to see more of that.

Natsuo and Fuyumi Are The Least Developed Todoroki Siblings

The family Todoroki has had a chokehold on the plot of My Hero Academia since Dabi got on top of Gigantomachia and spread around their family drama for anyone and everyone to hear — and with flair, at that. There is a lot of good content about this incredibly dysfunctional family and a lot of character growth.

However, it's easy to forget that Natsuo and Fuyumi, the middle Todoroki children, even exist. Granted, they're relegated to the sidelines due to their careers, but their eldest brother has just admitted to being alive and a mass murderer. They feel underdeveloped next to their siblings and getting a little more focus could be incredibly interesting as the story grows closer to its climax.

How Every My Hero Academia Movie Fits Into the Anime

Momo yaoyorozu should have risen to the top faster.

Momo got into UA on a recommendation and is shown to be one of the top students in the class. She's hard-working, dedicated, and incredibly intelligent. Despite all of this, she hasn't had much to do since the Rescue Bakugo arc, and it's more than a little frustrating.

Momo got a lot of rapid character growth very early on in the series, but as the world opened up, her role became practically non-existent other than to be in the background. Not only is her ability incredibly useful, but she is also a very competent strategist in her own right. It would be great to see the show do more with her, as the stakes are getting so much higher.

Hitoshi Shinso Is A Fan Favorite Who Develops Off-Screen

Shinso showed up in the plot of My Hero Academia as something of a canary in a coal mine. He was one of the earlier indicators that hero society wasn't everything it was cracked up to be and gave a pretty blatant example of Quirk Discrimination . He has a lot of great moments in those early arcs with a few rare appearances after.

Most of Shinso's development as a character, however, happens off-screen with Aizawa working with him one-on-one. Shinso has one of the best Quirks in the series and deserves a lot more time in the spotlight.

Mei Hatsume Might Be One Of The Most Useful Members Of The Cast

Being a genius inventor in a world like the one in My Hero Academia counts for a lot. Support items are a huge business in the series and a lot of people need them in order to make their careers. Mei showed off her creativity and intelligence early on, even making an item for Deku as he improved his shoot style.

Sadly, Mei did not manage to keep a lot of attention on her, even though her invention helped the main character, Deku himself. There are a lot of opportunities that war can offer an inventor like Mei, and it would be wonderful to see how she would adapt to this new experience.

10 My Hero Academia Episodes To Rewatch Before Season 7

Tenya iida used to be a lot more important.

Iida hit the scene early in the series as one of Deku's new best friends and rivals. Unfortunately, he ran out of plot importance and became less of a focus as the series marched on, bringing Todoroki and Bakugo more to the forefront.

But Iida is actually a great character; much of what happened to his brother was left more or less unresolved, and he has a dark streak that has seemingly been overcome. Iida is an incredibly interesting person in MHA , as his family's status as a legacy family without any controversy directly contrasts with the Todoroki family's dysfunction. He should get more focus.

La Brava & Gentle Criminal Have The Opportunity For A Big Redemption Arc

La Brava and Gentle Criminal are two of the best, most unique villains in the entire franchise. Their backstories are fun and tragic, they play off each other well, and they show another side to villainy and social media in the story. While their crime spree was wrapped up, their individual personalities and love for each other makes them a fun pair with the opportunity to be heroes.

Gentle Criminal and La Brava never wanted to hurt anyone; they just wanted respect and love, as many people do. They deserve the opportunity to let their story come full circle and treat the audience to a wholesome conclusion amid all of MHA 's heavier storytelling.

Nana Shimura Is Chronically Underdeveloped

Nana is the harbinger of a chunk of the plot of My Hero Academia yet there is so little known about her. As Shigaraki's grandmother, she has been a literal and figurative ghost in the plot. She was All-Might's teacher, a great hero, and a sacrificial lamb — but that's about it.

Nana's lack of development sticks out pretty hard because of her importance and there are so many questions surrounding her. Why did she truly abandon her family ? Was it the only option? How could things have been different? All questions that season seven has the opportunity to answer.

Ochako Uraraka Suffers Shonen Love Interest Syndrome

Ochaco Uraraka starts as a character with so much promise. Her Quirk is interesting, her personality is bright and determined, and she's strong and dedicated. But she also had the misfortune of being one of the first girls Deku met and, thus, got shuffled into the love interest category.

Ochaco's biggest issue is that, since her crush became a key part of her personality, she rarely gets attention outside that crush; at this point in the series, it's a little stale and fans would like to see a different side of her. Ochaco deserves the chance to stand on her own two feet in the latest season.
