Pendidikan Entrepreneurship di UGM

� Entrepreneur adalah seseorang yang mampu mengubah kotoran dan rongsokan menjadi emas � Ir. Ciputra -Kuliah Perdana Mahasiswa Baru Pascasarjana UGM angkatan 2007-

Pernyataan diatas diungkapkan Ir. Ciputra ketika menjadi pembicara pada kuliah perdana mahasiswa baru pascasarjana UGM tahun ajaran 2007/2008. Kehadiran Ir. Ciputra yang merupakan seorang pengusaha besar bertaraf internasional di bidang property merupakan suatu tonggak sejarah tersendiri bagi UGM. Kehadiran Ciputra bukan hanya dalam rangka memberikan kuliah perdana, tetapi juga dalam rangka menjalin kerjasama dengan UGM untuk membangun UGM menjadi centre of excellence and entrepreneurship.

Dalam kuliah perdana yang dilaksanakan pada hari Senin, 10 September 2007 tersebut, Ir. Ciputra memaparkan bahwa setidaknya terdapat 5 alasan penting mengapa mengapa entrepreneurship sangat penting diajarkan di bangku sekolah. Pertama , kebanyakan generasi muda tidak dibesarkan dalam budaya wirausaha. Inspirasi dan latihan usaha tidak banyak diajarkan di bangku sekolah. Kedua , Tingginya pengangguran di Indonesia mencapai angka 10, 93 juta jiwa pada tahun 2006. Majalah Tempo edisi 20-26 Agustus 2007 menyajikan fakta bahwa pada tahun 2006, terdapat 670.000 sarjana dan lulusan diploma yang mengaggur. Ketiga , lapangan kerja sangat terbatas, tidak sebanding dengan jumlah pencari kerja. Keempat , pertumbuhan interpreneur selain dapat menampung tenaga kerja, juga dapat menciptakan kesejahteraan masyarakat secara luas. Menurut David McClelland, seorang sosiolog terkemuka, suatu negara akan maju jika terdapat entrepreneur sedikitnya sebanyak 2% dari jumlah penduduk. Menurut laporan yang dilansir Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, pada tahun 2005, Negara Singapura memiliki entrepreneur sebanyak 7,2% dari jumlah penduduk. Sedangkan Indonesia hanya memiliki entrepreneur 0,18% dari jumlah penduduk. Tidak heran jika pendapatan perkapita negara singa tersebut puluhan kali lebih tinggi dari Indonesia. Menurut Prof. Lester C Thurow dalam bukunya Building Wealth: � tidak ada isntitusi yang dapat menggantikan peran individu para entrepreneur sebagai agen-agen perubahan. Untuk itu menurut Ir. Ciputra, mereka yang paling siap dan paling mudah untuk dididik dan dilatih kecakapan wirausaha adalah mereka yang sekarang berada di bangku sekolah. Kelima , Indonesia sangat kaya dengan sumberdaya alam, akan tetapi sumber daya alam tersebut tidak bisa dikelola dengan baik karena Indonesia kekurangan SDM entrepreneur yang mampu mengubah �kotoran dan rongsokan menjadi emas�.

• Business Entrepreneur. Kelompok ini terbagi menjadi dua yaitu Owner Entrepreneur and professional Entrepreneur. Owner Entrepreneur adalah para penciptan dan pemilik bisnis. Professional Entrepreneur adalah orang-orang yang memiliki daya wirausaha akan tetapi mempraktekkannya pada perusahaan orang lain.
• Government Entrepreneur. Adalah pemimpin negara yang mampu mengelola dan menumbuhkan jiwa dan kecakapan wirausaha penduduknya. Contoh dari Government Entrepreneur adalah pemimpin negara Singapura Lee Kuan Yew.
• Social Entrepreneur. Yang masuk dalam kelompok ini adalah para pendiri orgnisasi-organisasi social kelas dunia yang berhasil menghimpun dana masyarakat untuk melaksanakan tugas social yang mereka yakini. Contohnya adalah Mohammad Yunus, peraih nobel perdamaian tahun 2006 serta pendiri Grameen Bank.
• Academic Entrepreneur. Termasuk dalam kelompok ini adalah akademisi yang mengajar atau mengelola lembaga pendidikan dengan pola dan gaya Entrepreneur sambil tetap menjaga tujuan mulia pendidikan. Universitas Harvard dan Stanford merupakan beberapa uiversitas terkemuka yang mengelola dunia pendidikan dengan gaya Entrepreneur

Lebih lanjut Ir. Ciputra mengatakan bahwa menjadi Entrepreneur dapat dipelajari. Dan untuk menciptakan jumlah entrepreneur yang memadai di Indonesia, maka menurut Ir. Ciputra, Indonesia perlu melakukan quntum leap (lompatan quantum). Terdapat 3 gagasan dalam quntum leap. Pertama, pada level pendidikan dasar dan menengah, harus terdapat kurikulum yang mengajarkan tentang kewirausahaan. Kedua, entrepreneur harus diciptakan dan dikembangkan dan pada level perguruan tinggi. Ketiga, harus terdapat gerakan nasional pelatihan kewirausahaan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah maupun masyarakat, agar gerakan ini dapat menjangkau masyarakat luas yang barada di luar bangku sekolah.

Diakhir presentasinya, Ir. Ciputra berharap bahwa Universitas Gadjah Mada dapat mewarisi semangat juang Gadjah Mada dengan menjadikan universitas Gadjah Mada sebagai centre of excellenge and entrepreneurship. Menurut Direktur Sekolah Pascasarjana UGM, Prof. Dr. Irwan Abdullah, untuk menciptakan UGM sebagai centre of excellenge and entrepreneurship, maka UGM saat ini sedang bekerjasama dengan yayasan Ciputra Entreprenir, menggodok kurikulum entrepreneurship yang akan diajarkan di UGM.

Thesis Information

Thesis writing.

Submission of Title and Guidance and Thesis Examination In order to assist students in their thesis writing, particularly with regards to the substance of the writing, a thesis supervisor will be assigned individually for each student, taking into account the lecturer’s competence on the thesis topic and those who have finished their doctorate degree. The thesis supervisor are selected by the Head of Master in Law Study Program from permanent lecturers at the Faculty of Law Universitas Gadjah Mada. With regards the submission of thesis topic, students must follow the following procedures:

• Students fill out the Study Plan Card by taking the “Research Proposal Seminar” and “Thesis” course
• Minimal GPA of 3.00
• Already /currently taking the course “Research Methodology and Legal Writing”
• Has passed 6 mandatory courses 
• Letter of application for submitting a thesis title yang dilampiri usulan 3 alternatif judul dan pokok pikir dari dari tema penelitian dan ditandatangani oleh mahasiswa dalam format “ word document “
• Remaining Study Plan Card
• Downloaded temporary transcript in Simaster
• All the documents above should be submitted via email to [email protected] with CC to [email protected] , [email protected] dan [email protected] 
• Program Studi akan mengundang mahasiswa untuk menentukan judul tesis dalam sebuah workshop. Jika program studi menilai bahwa topik yang diajukan perlu direvisi maka mahasiswa wajib mengajukan kembali formulir topik tesis yang berisi tiga topik tesis termasuk topik yang sudah direvisi via email ke  [email protected] cc ke [email protected] , [email protected] dan [email protected]
• Setelah judul tesis disetujui mahasiswa wajib mendaftar proposal lewat simaster di menu “Tugas Akhir”;
• Selanjutnya Program Studi akan berkoordinasi dengan Ketua Departemen di lingkungan Fakultas Hukum UGM untuk menentukan dosen pembimbing Tesis;
• Setelah dosen pembimbing Tesis ditentukan, mahasiswa menghadap dosen untuk memulai konsultasi termasuk untuk mempertajam judul dan rumusan masalah.
• Untuk memantau proses pengajuan topik tesis, agenda workshop, catatan prodi sampai penunjukkan dosen pembimbing penulisan tesis, mahasiswa dapat melihat di link “ Pantau Proses “

Meanwhile, thesis supervision is conducted in accordance with the following rules and procedures:

• The thesis supervising process begins with writing a research proposal which is then consulted with the Thesis Advisor lecturer. In the case of students carrying out thesis guidance with a thesis writing supervisor both online and offline, it is highly recommended to complete the thesis guidance form and ask the thesis supervisor to sign it;
• Within two months, with an allowable delay of one month, after approval of the thesis topic, students should have obtained approval of Research Proposal from their assigned supervisors;

• Provisional transcript
• Research Proposal Seminar Draft in PDF Format
• Setelah Seminar Proposal Penelitian dilaksanakan, mahasiswa selanjutnya mengumpulkan lembar pengesahan proposal untuk mengeluarkan nilai di simaster.
• Setelah nilai Seminar Proposal Penelitian keluar di simaster mahasiswa wajib mendaftar Tesis di simaster pada menu “Tugar Akhir”.
• Selanjutnya mahasiswa dapat melakukan penelitian dan penulisan draft Tesis;
• Thesis supervision is conducted in accordance with the manner agreed by the students and their supervisors, considering norms and ethics that are generally accepted;
• Within six months, and an allowable delay of two months, after the approval of the Research Proposal, students must have been prepared with a draft thesis and defense;
• Students are allowed to receive advice and supervision from their assigned supervisors only if they have input thesis writing in their Study Plan for the semester.

After the Thesis Supervising is completely done, the next step is the Thesis Examination with the following requirements:

• Before submitting the thesis examination, students are required to submit the Turnitin plagiarism check request for their thesis draft with the requirement: the plagiarism percentage is below 20% in the Turnitin via link below: ugm.id/turnitinFH
• Three exemplars of the Thesis draft that have been approved by the Thesis supervisor to be examined and printed with red cover; 
• Tiga eksemplar naskah publikasi yang telah dijilid kertas warna merah
• Thesis examination registration form
• Draft Thesis in PDF format
• To be able to take the thesis defense, students must be registered as participants in the UGM Master of Law Study Program in the current semester and register for the course thesis writing on the Study Plan Card (KRS) for that semester;
• Thesis defenses are carried out if students have obtained a minimum GPA of 3.0 (three);
• Thesis Examination is held with 3 lecturers, 1 (one) lecturer acted as the Head of the Examiner Board, and the other 2 (two) lecturers acted as Examiner Board Members;
• Pada waktu ujian Tesis, mahasiswa harus menyiapkan materi presentasi powerpoint, berpakaian sopan dan rapi (Pria harus berdasi, Perempuan agar menyesuaikan);
• Setelah ujian Tesis selesai dilakukan, mahasiswa wajib menyerahkan lembar persetujuan revisi ke akademik sebagai syarat mengeluarkan nilai Tesis.
