Long And Short Speeches On Yoga for Students and Kids in English
Long speech on yoga 400 words in english.
Good Morning All!
As you know that today our Yoga Group Foundation has successfully completed one year, so todayâs event has been organized to celebrate this one-year achievement. On this auspicious day, please allow me to heartily congratulate and express words of gratitude to our members of Yoga Group Foundation who worked hard to spread awareness among the masses about the benefit of yoga and helped made available necessary resources to make this one-year session a harbinger of bodily health and fitness with mental happiness. Also, I want to thank all the society people who never missed a day and showed enthusiasm to learn this art form and spread the teaching amongst others.
I, Nandini, your host for todayâs event and one of the co-founders of this group wish to deliver a short speech on Yoga â the science behind it and forms its essence.
Many of us perform Yoga on a daily basis, but how many actually know about what this art form entails and why it is performed. So itâs basically a method to achieve balance in our bodies, i.e. gaining strength, increasing flexibility and attaining spirituality. Yoga also endorses a non-materialistic way of living. Yoga is more precisely described through the use of the Sanskrit word called âasanaâ which means the practicing of different types of physical postures or asanas. The yoga postures are an indispensable part of the yoga. Usually, the class begins with normal breathing exercises and then goes on to incorporate gentle asanas followed by more tough ones. The yoga asanas are performed keeping in mind all the body parts as well as combine breathing practices, including guided mediation.
There are different poses for which the instructor guides you throughout; these poses include standing, sitting, back bending, forward bends, upside-down asanas as well as twisting postures. Besides these, there are other different types of yoga which are especially tailored to suit the different needs of people. For instance, there is Hatha Yoga, which is the most practiced form and deals with the breathing exercises and bodily postures. Then there are two other types of yoga, i.e. Karma and Bhakti Yoga, which are advised to people who are looking to gain spiritual experience in life.
This is an art form known to humanity from thousands of years whose history can be traced back to 3,000 BC. Since then, it is being practiced by various spiritual gurus and in the contemporary times, yoga is being looked up as a disciplinary form itself to be taught in various schools and colleges. The definitive aim of yoga is to help a person rise above the self and gain a sublime experience. Even in Bhagavad-Gita, it is written, âA person is said to have achieved yoga, the union with the Self, when the perfectly disciplined mind gets freedom from all desires, and becomes absorbed in the Self alone.â Though itâs not a religion, but it is certainly a mode of living life that works towards attaining a sound mind as well as a healthy body.
So unleash the power of yoga, feel energized and develop a zest of living.

Long Speech On Yoga 500 Words in English
Honâble Principal, Honâble Chief Guest, Fellow Teachers and My Lovely Students â Warm Greetings to all!
I, your senior yoga teacher, heartily welcome everyone to todayâs weekly event, of which Yoga is a major highlight. To begin with, I would like to deliver a short speech on Yoga with a view to spread more awareness about this subject amongst you all.
Workout trends come and go, but literally no other form of exercise is as stable as yoga and it has been around for over a period of 5,000 years now. International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21st every year. On June 21st, the world unites in harmony, Celebrating Yoga Day, a global serenity symphony. Yoga helps us way beyond than just burning the calories and toning down our muscles. Itâs an all-inclusive workout that focuses on both mind and body. Under yoga training, one performs all kinds of stretching and strengthening poses, including deep breathing, relaxation or meditation.
Currently, over 100 diverse forms of yoga are known, which are rigorous and intense while others are mild and relaxing. There are six different forms of yoga that are well-known today:
- Hatha â The form is mainly related with yoga and combines a sequence of basic movements, including breathing.
- Vinyasa â It includes a sequence of poses which smoothly flow from one to the other.
- Iyengar â It is a type of yoga which makes use of props, such as straps, blocks and chairs in order to help one move his/her body with the proper alignment.
- Bikram â Also called as âhot yogaâ, this form includes a sequence of 26 complex poses performed in a heated room that carries a high temperature.
- Power â A more rapid, greater-intensity practice that shapes muscles.
- Ashtanga â A sequence of poses that combines an exceptional breathing technique.
You just name it and youâll get it! Beautiful, glowing skin; a well-built, flexible body; regulated weight; sound health and calm mind â the benefits of yoga include all this and so much more. However, more often than not yoga is being seen to be restricted to asanas, i.e. poses. This is the reason why its benefits are only identified at the bodily level and we overlook its enormous benefits that yoga offers in bringing together the body and mind. When both your body and mind are in sync with each other, then life becomes more fulfilling and happier than ever before.
So everyone must practice yoga and make it a part of daily routine in order to get a strong, flexible and supple body. Its regular practice helps improve your body posture while you walk, sit or sleep. This will in turn also help you relive your body pain owing to inappropriate postures.
Yoga when combined with meditation has the power to better your intuitive skills so that you can quickly ascertain what is required to be done, when it is to be done and how in order to gain positive results. This does work wonders and you can experience the change yourself only when you practice it without fail.
Remember yoga is a never ending process. The deeper you delve into it, the more fruitful will be the results. Thatâs all I can say.
Now, let me call on stage our honâble chief guest to say few words.

Yoga is the culmination of physical, mental, spiritual and holistic ways of leading life. This discipline is said to have originated in India from more than 5,000 years. âYogaâ is derived from the Sanskrit word âYujâ, which means to âuniteâ. Speech on Yoga 500 Words in English
Below we have provided Yoga Speech in English, written in easy and simple words for class 7, 8, 9 and 10 school students.
Good morning to everyone present. Today is International Yoga Day 2021. We have been celebrating since its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Taking this opportunity, I would like to speak a few words on its benefits and why we need to incorporate yoga in our daily life. Yoga is a science of bringing balance between mind and body. It is an art of healthy living and is deeply rooted in our Indian Culture since ancient times.
Yoga is connected to spiritual discipline and is originated from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ meaning to join or to unite. It was initiated by Lord Shiva, who is also known as Adiyogi. Our Rishi, Sages and Saints have been practising and disseminating the same to the people. India being the pioneer, helped other countries realize its benefits and spiritual meaning affixed to it.
Also, there are different types of postures known as Asanas which forms the essential part of it. The poses are in alliance with breathing methods by keeping in mind all aspects of the body. Moreover, Gautama Buddha and Vardhaman Mahavir were too, patrons of yoga. They preached five great vows and eightfold path by keeping in consideration the yoga sadhana.
Even in Bhagwat Gita, the holy book of Hindus yoga is distinguished into three parts known as Gyan, Bhakti and Karma yoga. No, not at all. We can define health as the state of being free from any illness. In simpler terms, we can define yoga as a physical activity for bridging the gap between the mind (soul) and the physical body. It can be considered as an amalgamated version of art and science that helps individuals to lead a tranquil and healthy lifestyle.

Sample Speeches on Yoga
A few samples of speeches on yoga are given below. Please go through them for your better understanding of the topic.
Every single time we hear the term âyogaâ, the very first image that comes to our minds will be that of a highly flexible individual performing some daring asanas (body postures). Then most probably, it will be the image of an individual in white dress sitting peacefully on a yoga mat placed in the centre of a dark green lawn with dewdrops shining like gems in the pure yellow morning sunlight.. What a rejuvenating scene, right?
These days, the practice of yoga is gaining a lot of acceptance from people all over the world. Have you ever wondered why? What is the reason behind this increased attention? Why is the world now celebrating the International Day of Yoga in June every year?
Letâs remember the words of Marcus Garvey, âA people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without rootsâ. So letâs strengthen our roots.
The very first mention of the word âyogaâ is in the âRig Vedaâ, an ancient Indian collection of Vedic texts. It is believed that the âRig Vedaâ is one of the oldest books in the world, written eight to ten thousand years ago. The word âyogaâ comes from the Sanskrit word âyujâ. âYujâ means âunionâ or âto joinâ. Therefore, from the meaning of the word itself, the idea is comprehensible. That is, yoga is the union of the individualâs body and the universe. Everyone can do yoga. You do not have to get frightened by the several yoga terminologies you hear or the tangled poses you see.
Performing yoga provides multiple benefits for individuals. There are both physical and mental benefits. Regular practice of yoga will help to increase human body muscle strength. Performing asanas will remove the unwanted fat deposits around the stomach and waist. It will also enhance the performance of all our organs, making us stay active 24×7. Yoga helps to improve flexibility. By performing yoga on a regular basis, individuals can move their body parts in all the possible directions as they wish; their body will no longer resist the flow or cause troubles for their movements. The ability to stretch the human body improves the balance of our body, and also offers multiple physical and mental benefits. Yoga promotes better breathing. When we deeply focus on breathing while performing asanas, without our conscious awareness, our control of the process of breathing shifts slowly from the medulla oblongata to the cerebral cortex improves. As this shift happens, our mind gets much calmer. This is what biologically happens when we focus on breathing while performing yoga. As a result, the energy (prana) starts its free flow. It breaks all the emotional and physical blockages that our body has and thus frees our body and mind. Furthermore, it helps to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. It encourages the relaxation of the human mind and body. Many physical postures that we follow while performing yoga are not done only to enhance the flexibility of our body, but also plays a vital role in relieving tensions and other sorrows. By performing yoga, the human body gets prompted to release hormones called âendorphinsâ. Endorphins are the hormones produced by the action of the pituitary gland and central nervous system. These hormones can also be called the feel-good hormones â they are our bodyâs natural pain relievers. So it is better to try performing it regularly for a better, peaceful and happy living.
Even though âyogaâ has evolved a lot from its ancient form, its base is still the same. There exists multiple options for individuals to choose from in yoga. Yoga is available to us in various styles. Modern-day yoga offers individuals to make their choice based on the goal they expect by performing yoga on a regular basis. Some of the popular types of yoga are Ashtanga yoga, Bikram yoga, Hatha yoga, Iyengar yoga, Kripalu yoga, Kundalini yoga, Power yoga, Sivananda, Viniyoga, and Prenatal yoga. People worldwide are trying to learn yoga with the motive of enjoying a healthy life. Learning and practising yoga is not expensive, and it is a very comfortable physical exercise. No heavy machines or expensive tools are required for doing yoga. So stop finding excuses and try to start practising it as soon as possible. Your body will love it.

To conclude, Yoga offers comprehensive benefits for our mind, body, and spirit. It is a wonderful blend of physical exercises and mental tranquility that promotes overall health and well-being. 2-minute Speech on Benifits of Yoga
I greet you all with great pleasure today. The topic of my speech is âBenefits of Yoga.â Yoga, as we all know, is an ancient Indian practice that has a profound impact on the health and well-being of individuals. Letâs delve deeper into the various benefits that yoga offers.
The first and foremost advantage of yoga is that it enhances physical health. It comprises a series of poses and postures, referred to as âasanasâ that assist in improving flexibility, strength, and balance. These postures involve twisting and stretching of almost every part of the body, thus aiding in the enhancement of the overall functioning of the organs. Yoga also improves cardiovascular health by increasing circulation and blood flow. It also helps in maintaining a balanced metabolism, thereby aiding in weight reduction.
Second, yoga plays a vital role in mental health. It encourages relaxation and reduces stress. Yoga uses breathing techniques, meditation, and ethical disciplines to bring about a peaceful state of mind. It helps in managing anxiety and depression by lowering the levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. Yoga is also known to improve concentration and memory. A few minutes of yoga daily can help get rid of the stress that both adults and kids face in their everyday lives.
Besides physical and mental health, yoga also contributes significantly to emotional health. It helps to instill mindfulness, making us more aware and present in our daily life. It encourages self-care and self-love, which are very important for emotional well-being. By practicing yoga regularly, we can cultivate a greater understanding of our body, mind, and emotions.
Moreover, yoga also promotes spiritual well-being. The term âyogaâ means âunionâ â the union of body, mind, and spirit. It brings about a sense of inner peace and leads to self-realization. Many people have claimed to experience a sense of enlightenment while practicing yoga. It can provide us with the spiritual strength to face the difficulties in our lives with serenity and composure.
Lastly, yoga benefits our social well-being. Yoga classes provide a platform to meet and interact with new people, thus creating a sense of community. It enhances empathy, kindness, and compassion towards others. By helping us be more in tune with our emotions and thoughts, yoga allows us to have better relationships with those around us.

Speech on Yoga in simple and easy words
February 19, 2018 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment
My greetings to everyone present here. Today you all are about to listen something about one of the most divine feelings or experiences in the world that is yoga.
If you think yoga as just a form of body movements then you’re mistaken.
However, it is much more than that. It is a way of life and constitutes much more than just elegant body movements.
Today as the world is moving forward to the technological and modern future, view of intend to neglect this ancient.
Treasure given to us by our ancestors. Yoga has the power to heal and to take us to divine salvation where the truth of life lies in front of our eyes. Â
Yoga means Oneness and constitutes the essence of every possible religion, the gist of every Creed and the core of every spiritual path. Â
In ancient India, yoga was practiced by such sages as Shiva , Ram , Krishna and Vyasa . What Krishna teaches Arjuna is not Krishnaism but just yoga.
The route of Jainism is yoga. Since Mahavir practiced Hata yoga. Jesus Christ even carried out a lengthy pilgrimage with the purpose of studying yoga.
Gautam Buddha  studied Yoga throughout his life. Bodhidharma brought Buddha’s Raja Yoga from India to China. In the Middle East countries this practice is known as Sufa.
As the Bible teaches, search men are Samuel or David the prophets very rated to Sufi School. In Tibet people do not call themselves the Buddhists but the yoga practitioners. Â
Yoga comes from connecting to God just as the world religion means in a western context. There are many schools that are even called sampradajas with different forms of yoga.
All teachings guide and imported spirit in a non-personal relationship to God. The supreme God head resides in every being in its heart.
The native yoga paths I was part of the Vedic culture we are refer today as Hinduism but the real importance of Vedic culture seems to me that it has enabled native yoga paths to stay in the Indian subcontinent unchanged longer than they have been in other locations.
It seems as if these philosophies were once known all over the world. Â
There are 8 stages of yoga. The following are the 8 stages of yoga known as Ashtanga yoga. One needs to practice and master each of these 8 stages in order to reunite with the divine energy in the universe. Â
Firstly, Yama – these are eternal, Universal model Commandments. Perpetual Yamaha cuts the tendency towards violence and possessiveness. It inspires truthfulness, purity, conscience, trustworthiness, goodness and honesty. Â
Secondly, Niyama – this is the restraint of the Mind by means of its own rules and regulations. It is a form of self purification and involves the study of scripts and holy texts. Â
Asanas – these are body postures which develop inner awareness and aid in Calming the mind. Â
Pranayama –Â this is the rhythmic control and prolongation and restraint of breath. Its name is to discover a subtle psychic force or a subtle cosmic element. Â
Dharana – this is the Sanskrit word for, ‘ to hold ‘. It is an intense and deep concentration which enables the selected mental state. Â
Dhayana – this is meditation, contemplation and poised awareness. Â
Samadhi – profound meditation leads to a state of super consciousness. This state is called Samadhi.
It is the union of the individual aspirant with the object of his meditation or the supreme Universal spirit that is the all-pervasive truth. Â
We give undue importance to our health in treatment of diseases. A large number of medicine street cure only the symptoms of the disease and not the root cause.
In fact, the cause of mini chronic ailment is still being researched. It is here that yoga therapy comes to our assistance.
Yoga emphasizes treatment of the root cause of an ailment. It works in a slow subtle and miraculous manner.
Modern medicine can claim to save a life at a critical stage but for complete recovery and reasoning of normal health one must believe in the efficiency of yoga therapy. Â
The yogic way of life includes a code of ethics, regulations, discipline and more combined with prayer and meditation. Even a discussion of the subjects helps one relief mental tensions and change attitudes.
Simple asanas help to stretch and relax the whole body and neutralize tensions. The sincere practice of yoga postures benefits all level of experience. Â
From the Restoration of balance, flexibility, poise, health and well being to the body, to the cultivation of mental equanimity, emotional balance and inner strength.
On a physical level yoga postures stimulate the glands, organs, muscles, and nerves in which the traditional exercise cannot. Â
Muscle tightness and strain is quickly relieved and both circulation in digestion improves. Stress related symptoms like poor sleep, fatigue, muscle spasms, anxiety and in digestion are greatly relieved. Â
Through continued practice of yoga postures, we can have a profound effect on the inner dimensions of life, establishing deep calm concentration, emotional stability and confidence. Â

Speech on Yoga
Speech on yoga – 1.
Good Morning All!
As you know that today our Yoga Group Foundation has successfully completed one year, so todayâs event has been organized to celebrate this one-year achievement. On this auspicious day, please allow me to heartily congratulate and express words of gratitude to our members of Yoga Group Foundation who worked hard to spread awareness among the masses about the benefit of yoga and helped made available necessary resources to make this one-year session a harbinger of bodily health and mental happiness.
Speech on Yoga – 2
Honâble Principal, Honâble Chief Guest, Fellow Teachers and My Lovely Students â Warm Greetings to all!
I, your senior yoga teacher, heartily welcome everyone to todayâs weekly event, of which Yoga is a major highlight. To begin with, I would like to deliver a short speech on Yoga with a view to spread more awareness about this subject amongst you all.
Workout trends come and go, but literally no other form of exercise is as stable as yoga and it has been around for over a period of 5,000 years now.
