Only on the verification of the documents and payment of the tuition fee candidates can have their Jadavpur University admission guaranteed. If a candidate fails to produce the required documents or does not meet the eligibility requirements during the Jadavpur University 2023 counselling, he or she may be denied admission. The university will also release a waiting list, in addition to the merit list, for candidates who are eligible for the next round of Jadavpur University 2023 counselling.

Documents Required for Jadavpur University Counselling 2023

The university offers reservation to the candidates belonging to minority communities according to the rules and regulations. Candidates can check the reservation criteria below for each category.

Domicile Quota

The State (West Bengal) Residential / Domicile requirement is applicable for admission to Jadavpur University. For Jadavpur University 90% of the General Seats are earmarked for West Bengal domicile candidates.

The candidate shall have to furnish valid Domicile Certificate in the WBJEE proforma in his/her name issued by the competent authority and satisfying the criteria as mentioned in Annexure–A.

If the certificate is found to be invalid, the candidate will lose the opportunity of admission.

SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B Reservation

The candidate shall have to furnish copies of valid SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B certificate in his/her

name issued by the competent authority as listed in Annexure–B. OBC Certificates must have the category A/B mentioned without which the certificate will be considered as invalid.

Reservation for Person with Disability

Reservation is available for Persons with Disability (PwD) with 40% to 70% disabilities of a) Locomotor disability; b) Visual Impairment; c) Hearing impairment; and d) Speech and language disability, subject to the condition that the candidate can carry out all activities related to theory and practical work as applicable to B.E/B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Pharm courses without any special concession and exemption

Reservation under Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme

The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW) has been implemented by the Government of West Bengal for meritorious and economically backward students domiciled in West Bengal for admission to all the participating institutes through WBJEE. These seats are available on a supernumerary basis, i.e., over and above the sanctioned seats. The waiver is limited to the Tuition Fee only. All other fees will have to be paid by the beneficiary. The candidate allotted under TFW scheme must be domiciled in West Bengal (conforming to the criteria mentioned under clause 3.1). Total Annual Family Income of the candidate from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs (Rupees Two Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only).

• The application process for the new session of the M Arch program at Jadavpur University has started. The deadline is October 5, 2023.
• At Jadavpur University, registration for certificate evening courses is currently available. The deadline to apply is October 17, 2023.
• For the Certificate evening course, an entrance exam will be held on November 6, 2023
• The application period for the BEd entry class of 2023 is already open and will close on September 15, 2023.

Jadavpur University entrance exam 2023 : JU Kolkata accepts admissions to various UG, PG, and Doctoral programs based on merit-basis and national and state-level entrance exam scores. All the students who have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board or their graduation from a recognized university/institute are eligible to apply for Jadavpur University admissions 2023 .

Currently, registration for the B.Ed Special Education program is ongoing. Eligibility criteria.

• All applicants must have completed 2 (two) or 3 (three) Years (4 or, 6 Semesters respectively) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Pharmacy or 3 (three) Years M.C.A. degree OR equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed, such as grade point of 6.25 in 10-point scale.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B (Non-creamy layer) / PwD and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC/AICTE/State Govt. from time to time or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19t h September, 1991 (M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Pharmacy./MCA from any University/ Institute recognized by UGC and in a course approved by AICTE).

• Candidates should apply in the prescribed form available on the website.www.jaduniv.edu.in.
• Candidates have to pay the application fees Rs. 500/- (Per Subject) online through SBI Collect System using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
• After payment, candidates have to submit the duly filled in application form along with a photocopy of online payment receipt (downloaded from SBI Collect payment system after online payment) along with other 2 requisite testimonials [i.e. self-attested photo copies of Mark-sheet & Certificates of Secondary, Higher Secondary, Graduation and Master Degree course, Documents/Certificates of CSIR-NET/UGCNET/GATE/GPAT/SET/QIP/DST-INSPIRE/VISVESVARAYA/OTHER RECOGNISED FELLOW SHIPS (if any), SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD Certificate (if applicable)] and two (2) passport size photographs, to the Office of the Dean & Secretary, Faculty of Engineering & Technology (2nd Floor of TEQIP Building, Opposite to Gandhi Bhaban) on or before last date [except Saturday, Sunday and WB Govt. & JU holidays] by person or by post. The university shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

• A Master’s degree in any discipline from any University or other Institution recognized by this University; or
• A Post-Graduate Diploma/Degree of fewer than two years’ duration from any University or Institution recognized by this University provided that you have completed at least a total of five years of graduate and postgraduate study in a recognized university or institution; or
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering /Technology /Pharmacy /MCA of this university or from any other university or Institutions recognized as equivalent thereto by the university; or
• There is also a provision for the continuation of a Ph.D. after completing M.Phil. from this university.
• Phil. students of Jadavpur University who have successfully defended their viva-voce examinations and have valid Continuing UGC Fellowship may also apply.
• They may be considered under Continuing Fellowship Holder category provided they have not registered themselves in any other university/Institute after completing their M.Phil. degrees at Jadavpur University.

M.Phil Application Form

The application process for M.Phil. is completely online. The form can be accessed on the University website. Candidates will have to log in and enter their personal and educational information only once, regardless of how many departments they apply for. Click Submit button to save your data. You will then get a unique number. You can use this No. to login to this system in the future. Select the department you wish to apply for. If you are eligible, click the Apply button. You will be generated a different Application number for each department that you apply for. You must note down that Application number. Make the payment of the Application Fee. Pay the fee and upload the SB Collect Reference No (starting with DU) in this website, and click on submit.

• Two recent passport-size photographs.
• Attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates.
• Madhyamik admit card/certificate for verification of age.
