1 Minute Speech on My Favourite Movie In English

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of my favourite movie.

Normally, being a bookworm, I proclaim that until my last dying breath, I shall defend the book over the movie through and through. But, one movie remains to be an exception to this rule for me. It is no surprise that this also happens to be my favourite movie!

And which movie is this? It is none other than ‘Pride and Prejudice’!

While the movie indeed did not replicate every single scene in the book, it successfully managed to recreate the magical atmosphere found in the book. Despite being concise in its duration, the movie captured all the important scenes in the book that were crucial for the development of the plot and characters.

Speaking of characters, I must say that the role of Mrs Bennet was the most extraordinary, her mannerisms captured perfectly. And so was Collins’!

Do watch it.

Thank you.

A Speech on “My Favorite Film”

I am here today to speak about my favorite film. My favorite film is “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. It is an American musical fantasy film released in 2005.

It was directed by Tim Burton and written by John August. The movie was based on the 1964 British novel that goes by the same name, written by Roald Dahl.

The story is about a young boy Charlie who finds a ticket with four other children to visit the chocolate factory owned by Willy Wonka. The film was a major box office hit and was received with love, especially among children.

Wonka gives away five golden tickets to visit the chocolate factory inside five different bars of Wonka Bars.

Four children easily obtain the first four bars, and Charlie Bucket obtains the fifth ticket after many emotional scenes and turmoil.

Charlie’s family was poor, and though he received monetary offers in exchange for the ticket, he declined it as he was so passionate about visiting the chocolate factory. He takes along with him his Grandpa Joe to accompany him on tour.

During the tour, the individual flaws of the children make them give in to temptation and are thus eliminated. With the fall of each person, the ‘Oompa-Loompas’ sing a song of morality.

The eliminated children left the place with the deformities that came as part of their fall for temptation, pride, and greed. The movie also introduces us to Willy Wonka’s troubled past and childhood.

Charlie was the only person remaining, and since he was the “least rotten”, he was offered to inherit the chocolate factory as it was time for Willy Wonka to retire, so he was invited to come and live with Wonka in the factory, on the condition that he leaves his family behind like Wonka.

Charlie declined the offer and said that his family is the most important possession that he has and will not give it up for anything.

Charlie then does quite well in his late a while later. Willy Wonka was too depressed to make candies like he used to, and his factory ran at a loss and declined.

He then goes to Charlie for advice, and Charlie helps him reconcile with his estranged father, after which he finally realizes the value of family.

Things go quite well with his father, and later on, Charlie is allowed to reside in the factory along with his family.

I like this film because of the mesmerizing visual treat it gives to the eyes and minds of the viewers. The storyline is beautiful and unique so is the acting, especially of Johnny Dep. the story teaches us the importance of families and how amazing it is to be in a family that loves you no matter what.

Through Charlie’s family, we get to know that money is not important in a family. It is the love and bond that they have, that makes it beautiful. It also teaches that greed and pride will only lead to downfall.

The entertainment industry is very popular for making hundreds of exciting movies to entertain us. Each film has a different genre like there are social, historical, science, fiction, documentary-based, religious, thriller, or horror movies.

I also like to watch movies in my spare time. According to me, a good movie is the one in which we can relate with the characters and share the excitement or sorrows.

The movie that I like the most is “Taarezameen per”. It is my favorite movie and I have seen it so many times. There are no bold scenes in this movie and people of every age can watch it. It is an emotional movie which always keeps me glued to the screen. It tells about the story of a boy who suffers from dyslexia due to which he is unable to identify speech sounds and how they relate to letters. Because of this disorder, he cannot excel in any activity.

He finds all the subjects difficult to study. Even with this disorder, he is very good at painting. However, he gets expelled from school because of his poor performance.

All the teachers tell his parents that their boy is not normal and he should be sent to school which is especially made for special children like him. Later, his parents send him to boarding school. There he sinks into a state of nervousness and fear because of new environment. Fortunately, he finds an art teacher there who is very supportive and caring.

His teacher realizes that it is not ishaan’s fault to get bad grades but a disorder which makes it difficult for him to focus. He visits ishaan’s home and gets surprised to see his drawings.

He also gets to know that ishaan’s dad does not understand him and often shouts at him for not getting good grades. Because of this, ishaan no longer paints and suffers from anxiety.

He gets motivated to improve ishaan’s writing and reading by using techniques developed by dyslexia specialists. These techniques help ishaan to score good grades in school. In the end, he also wins a painting competition because of his striking creative style.

I like how this story is relevant in today’s society. According to me, this is a movie which gives best moral to parents, teachers and every child. It is a marvelous piece of work which shows a perfect relationship between a teacher and a student. It highlights the issue that sometimes, parents do not understand that every kid is different.

If he is not good at studies then there must be some other thing which he is good at. He might be interested in painting, acting, singing or sports. Therefore, parents should not discourage their children but help them in what they like.

I like how the director of this movie has brought out a clear message that parents should not ignore the interests of kids and they should not snatch their childhood from them by giving them burden of getting good grades or efficient performance in every field.

Essay on My Favorite Movie Harry Potter

My love for movies started when I was a kid, and ever since then, movies have been my favorite pastime. From action-packed thrillers to romantic comedies, there’s a movie genre for every mood. But if I have to pick just one movie as my all-time favorite, hands down it would be the Harry Potter series.

For those who are not familiar with the name, Harry Potter is a fictional character created by British author J.K. Rowling. The series consists of seven books and eight movies, which follows the journey of a young wizard named Harry Potter, who discovers his true identity as “The Chosen One” and battles against the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort.

I was first introduced to Harry Potter when I was in elementary school, and I still remember the excitement of reading the books for the first time. The magical world of Hogwarts, spells, potions, and flying broomsticks had me completely captivated. As a kid, I would often daydream about receiving my acceptance letter to Hogwarts and attending classes with Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

When the movies were released, I was ecstatic! It was a dream come true to see my favorite characters and their adventures brought to life on the big screen. The cast, especially Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, did an incredible job of portraying their characters and staying true to the books.

One of the things I love most about the Harry Potter series is the way it tackles important themes such as love, friendship, courage, and good vs. evil. The characters face challenges and overcome them by staying true to their values and relying on each other for support. This message of unity and strength in the face of adversity resonated with me, and I believe it’s one of the reasons why the series has such a huge fan base.

Moreover, the world-building in the Harry Potter series is impeccable. J.K. Rowling’s attention to detail and ability to create a vivid and complex magical world is truly impressive. From Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade, each location has its own unique charm and adds depth to the story. The spells and magical creatures introduced in the series are also fascinating, and I love how each one has its own history and significance.

Apart from the story and characters, the music in the Harry Potter movies is another aspect that makes them stand out for me. The iconic theme song composed by John Williams never fails to give me chills, and it perfectly captures the essence of the series. The rest of the soundtrack is also beautifully crafted and adds to the overall magical atmosphere of the movies.

As I grew older, my love for the Harry Potter series only intensified. I started noticing and appreciating the deeper themes and symbolism in the story that went beyond just a tale of magic and adventure. The series also taught me valuable life lessons about courage, friendship, and standing up for what is right.

Even today, I find myself re-reading the books and re-watching the movies whenever I need a break from reality. The Harry Potter series has become a timeless classic, and I believe it will continue to capture the hearts of audiences for generations to come.

In conclusion, the Harry Potter series holds a special place in my heart as my all-time favorite movie. It’s not just about magic and adventure, but it’s a story about love, friendship, and overcoming challenges. The series has sparked my imagination and taught me valuable life lessons that I will carry with me forever. And for that, I will always be grateful to J.K. Rowling for creating such a magical world and to the cast and crew for bringing it to life on the big screen.

My Favorite Movie PK

Are you a big movie fan? Do you ever find yourself eagerly waiting for new releases, rewatching old classics, and discussing plot twists with your friends? If so, then you probably understand the feeling of having a favorite movie. For me, that movie is PK.

Released in 2014, PK is an Indian satirical comedy-drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film stars Aamir Khan as the lead character, an alien who lands on earth and becomes stranded when his remote control to return home is stolen. He then embarks on a journey to retrieve it and encounters various aspects of human society, including religion, superstition, and love.

The first time I watched PK, I was blown away by its unique concept and thought-provoking message. The film uses comedy to address serious issues, making it both entertaining and meaningful. It challenges societal norms and beliefs, encouraging viewers to think critically about their own values.

One of the things I love most about PK is its ability to make me laugh while also making me reflect on larger societal issues. The character of PK himself is endearing and hilarious, with his childlike innocence and curiosity about human behaviors. Aamir Khan’s performance as PK is outstanding, bringing the character to life in a way that captures the audience’s hearts.

The film also has a stellar supporting cast, including Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Boman Irani. Each actor delivers a memorable performance, adding depth and complexity to the film’s themes. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, making their relationships feel authentic and relatable.

One of the most impactful aspects of PK is its commentary on religion. The film presents a thought-provoking argument against blind faith and superstition, showcasing how religious leaders can exploit people’s beliefs for personal gain.

It also highlights the importance of questioning and understanding one’s own beliefs rather than blindly following societal norms. This message resonated with me deeply and has stayed with me long after watching the film.

In addition to its thought-provoking themes, PK also boasts stunning cinematography and a captivating soundtrack. The music adds emotion and depth to key scenes, enhancing the overall viewing experience. The film’s settings, from the bustling streets of Mumbai to the tranquil beauty of Rajasthan, further immerse viewers into PK’s world.

But what truly makes PK my favorite movie is its ability to make me feel a range of emotions. I laughed at PK’s antics, cried during emotional moments, and felt anger towards societal injustices portrayed in the film. It takes skillful storytelling to evoke such strong emotions from the audience, and PK does it flawlessly.

PK has received both critical and commercial success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. It also won several awards, including Best Film at the 60th Filmfare Awards. However, what matters most to me is its impact on society and its ability to spark important conversations.

The film’s message is timeless and relevant, making it a must-watch for people of all ages and backgrounds.

In conclusion PK is more than just a movie to me. It’s a thought-provoking masterpiece that challenges societal norms and encourages viewers to question their own beliefs. Its unique blend of comedy, drama, and social commentary makes it my favorite movie, one that I will continue to rewatch and recommend to others. If you haven’t seen PK yet, do yourself a favor and add it to your must-watch list. Who knows, it may become your favorite movie too. So, what are you waiting for? Grab some popcorn and hit play on PK – an unforgettable cinematic experience awaits!

Essay on My Favorite Movie Fast and Furious:

The Fast and Furious franchise has been a staple in the action movie genre for over two decades. With its adrenaline-fueled car chases, heart-stopping stunts, and diverse cast of characters, it’s no wonder that this series has become a favorite among fans worldwide.

My love for this franchise began when I first watched The Fast and the Furious back in 2001. From the very first race scene, I was hooked. The sound of revving engines and the sight of sleek cars racing through the streets had me on the edge of my seat. But what truly drew me in was the chemistry between characters Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner.

Their bromance and loyalty to each other despite their differences resonated with me. It’s not just about fast cars and action-packed scenes, but also about the bond of family and friendship that has kept this franchise going strong.

One of the most appealing aspects of the Fast and Furious series is its diverse cast. From street racers to former criminals, each character brings their own unique skills and personalities to the table. And as the franchise grew, so did the representation of different cultures and backgrounds.

The shift from street racing to heists in Fast Five not only upped the ante with thrilling action sequences but also introduced us to fan-favorite characters like Han, Tej, and Roman. Even more diversity was brought to the franchise with strong female characters like Letty, Mia, and most recently Hattie Shaw. Seeing people from all walks of life come together and form a strong bond is what makes this series stand out for me.

But it’s not just the characters that make this franchise special; it’s also the crazy stunts and over-the-top action sequences. From driving cars off cliffs to jumping between skyscrapers, each movie manages to push the limits of what we thought was possible. And the fact that most of these stunts are done practically is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the cast and crew.

It’s also worth mentioning how well this franchise has evolved over time. From humble beginnings as a street racing movie, it has now become a global phenomenon with spin-offs, video games, and even a live show. The Fast and Furious franchise has proven that it can adapt and continue to entertain audiences with each new installment.

While I have enjoyed all the movies in this franchise, there are a few that stand out for me. Fast Five, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. It was the first movie that fully embraced the heist aspect of the series while still maintaining its signature car chases and fight scenes. The addition of Dwayne Johnson’s character, Luke Hobbs, also added an extra layer of excitement to the movie.

Another favorite of mine is Furious 7. Not only did it have some of the most thrilling action sequences in the franchise, but it also served as a touching tribute to Paul Walker, who tragically passed away during filming. The emotional impact of his absence was felt throughout the movie, and it truly showed how much this cast had become a family both on and off-screen.

In conclusion, the Fast and Furious franchise holds a special place in my heart as my favorite movie series. Its diverse cast, heart-pumping action sequences, and themes of family and friendship make each movie a joy to watch. While the franchise may have started as a simple movie about street racing, it has now become a global phenomenon that continues to entertain audiences worldwide.

And with more movies and spin-offs in the works, I can’t wait to see what other exciting adventures this franchise has in store for us. So, if you haven’t watched any of the Fast and Furious movies yet, I highly recommend you give them a chance and join in on the ride. So buckle up and get ready for some high-speed action with the Fast and Furious franchise!

Essay on My Favorite Movie Twilight:

My favorite movie of all time is Twilight. I know, I know, it may sound cliché but hear me out. The reason why it’s my favorite movie goes beyond the romantic vampire and werewolf love triangle that captured the hearts of millions around the world.

Twilight is not just a typical romance film. It’s a story about self-discovery, acceptance, and the power of love to transcend all boundaries.

The movie is based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer and follows the story of Bella Swan, a teenage girl who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father. There she meets Edward Cullen, a mysterious and handsome vampire who she falls in love with. However, their love is not without challenges as they must navigate the dangerous world of vampires and werewolves while also facing their own personal demons.

One of the reasons why I love this movie is because of its strong female lead. Bella is not your typical damsel in distress waiting to be saved by her prince charming. She is independent, brave, and unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. Her character development throughout the series is inspiring and relatable, making her a role model for young girls everywhere.

Another aspect of the movie that I enjoy is its beautiful cinematography. The stunning scenery of the Pacific Northwest adds to the mystical and enchanting atmosphere of the story. It’s no wonder that fans from all over the world travel to Forks to visit some of the filming locations.

But what makes this movie truly special to me is its theme of love conquering all. Despite their differences, Bella and Edward’s love for each other remains strong and unwavering. It shows that true love knows no boundaries, whether it be race, social status, or even species.

Twilight may have its fair share of critics but for me, it will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s not just a movie, it’s a reminder that love is the most powerful force in the world and can overcome any obstacle.

In conclusion, Twilight is more than just a teenage romance movie. It’s a beautiful story about love, growth, and acceptance. Its captivating characters, breathtaking scenery, and timeless message make it my all-time favorite movie. It’s a film that I can watch over and over again, always finding something new to love about it. And for that, it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

So the next time someone asks me why Twilight is my favorite movie, I’ll simply smile and say “because it’s not just a movie, it’s a love story that transcends all boundaries.” So, if you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend giving it a chance and experiencing the magic of Twilight for yourself. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Essay on My Favorite Movie Dangal:

As a movie buff, I have watched hundreds of movies spanning different genres. But there is one movie that stands out amongst them all and holds a special place in my heart – Dangal.

Dangal is an Indian sports biographical drama based on the real-life story of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat and Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra as his daughters. The film was released in 2016 and has since become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

What makes Dangal my favorite movie is not just its box office success, but the powerful message it delivers. The film challenges societal norms and stereotypes by showcasing the struggle of a father who defies all odds to train his daughters in a male-dominated sport like wrestling. It breaks gender barriers and inspires young girls to pursue their dreams, no matter how unconventional they may seem.

Apart from its impactful message, Dangal also delivers exceptional performances by its lead actors. Aamir Khan once again proves his versatility as an actor with his portrayal of Mahavir Singh Phogat. He not only physically transforms himself to play the role of a wrestler but also brings out the emotional side of a father who is determined to see his daughters succeed. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra also shine in their roles as the Phogat sisters, displaying strong-willed and determined characters.

The film’s screenplay and direction are top-notch, keeping the audience engaged from start to finish. The wrestling scenes are choreographed brilliantly, making them look realistic and intense. The soundtrack of the movie is another highlight, with songs like “Dangal” and “Haanikaarak Bapu” becoming instant hits.

In addition to its commercial success, Dangal has also received critical acclaim. The film won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and three Filmfare Awards. It was also India’s official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In conclusion, Dangal is a movie that has it all – a powerful message, exceptional performances, and top-notch execution. It not only entertains but also educates and inspires its audience. For me, it will always remain my favorite movie and one that I highly recommend to everyone. So if you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favor and add it to your must-watch list. You won’t be disappointed. So, keep watching amazing movies!

Short Essay on My Favorite Movie Bahubali:

Bahubali is an epic Indian movie that swept the nation off its feet with its grandeur, action-packed scenes, and compelling storyline. Released in 2015, this movie was a game-changer for Indian cinema as it broke all box office records and took the world by storm.

Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, Bahubali tells the story of two brothers, Amarendra Bahubali and Bhallaladeva, who fight for the throne of the ancient kingdom of Mahishmati. The movie is set in a fictional world filled with political intrigue, love, war, and betrayal.

One of the reasons I fell in love with this movie is its incredible action sequences. From sword fights to larger-than-life battle scenes, Bahubali has it all. The special effects and CGI used in the movie are top-notch and make the fight scenes even more captivating.

But what truly sets Bahubali apart is its strong characters, especially its female lead Devasena. She is a fierce warrior who can hold her ground against any opponent. Her character challenges traditional gender roles and stands out as a symbol of strength and resilience.

Apart from the action, Bahubali also has a heart-wrenching love story between Amarendra Bahubali and Devasena. Their chemistry is palpable, and their love for each other is portrayed beautifully on screen. This adds an emotional depth to the movie that makes it even more impactful.

Moreover, what I admire about Bahubali is how it showcases the rich culture and traditions of India. The sets, costumes, and music all beautifully capture the essence of Indian mythology and history.

Aside from its entertainment value, Bahubali also has a powerful message about good triumphing over evil. Through the character of Amarendra Bahubali, the movie teaches us that true strength lies in compassion and not violence.

In conclusion, Bahubali will always hold a special place in my heart as it is not just a movie but an experience. It has set the bar high for Indian cinema and has left its mark on audiences worldwide. This movie truly represents the magic of storytelling and proves that with passion and dedication, anything is possible. My favourite character saved the day again, I love how bravely and heroically he is written. The visuals were stunning, you’d love it. I know you’re a fantasy lover so you’d enjoy this film particularly well. Your favourite actor, Tom Hanks, stars in this film as an international super spy. What Is Your Favorite Movie? IELTS Speaking (10 Example Answers)

The examiner might ask you about movies in part one of your IELTS Speaking test. In this case, they will probably ask, “What is your favorite movie?”

Let’s take a look at the best way to answer this question. Below, you can also read 10 good example answers ( go straight to the answers here ).

How You Can Answer

If you don’t have a clear favorite movie, just talk about any movie that you like or a movie you’ve seen recently.

The important thing is that you can remember the movie clearly and say a few things about it.

Using one or two sentences, you can talk about:

  • What kind of movie it is (action, science fiction, romance, comedy, animated, fantasy
)
  • What it’s about (very briefly)
  • Why you like it (or used to like it)
  • What happens (or happened) in the movie
  • Who the main characters are
  • Who stars in the movie (the actors)
  • Who directed the movie
  • When you last saw it
  • Anything else that comes to mind

A Common Problem: Translating Movie Names

Maybe you think of a movie you really love, but you don’t know how to say the movie name in English!

Don’t worry. It can be difficult to quickly translate the name of a movie into English.

If you don’t know the English name, just say something like ‘ My favorite movie is an American action movie about two policemen who
 ‘

You can leave the movie name out, no problem. Just don’t waste ten seconds in silence trying to think of the English name.

But it might be a good idea to talk about a movie where you already know the title in English.   Or choose a movie like Titanic, Avatar, or Avengers, where the name is the same in every language.

Focus on Fluency, Not Grammar

In part one, don’t worry too much about using complex grammar or vocabulary.

Part one is only to warm you up . It’s better to speak as quickly as fluently as you can, without hesitation.

For this, simple English is fine.

Use the Three-Step YES Method

Also, keep your answers short in part one.

Don’t make the mistake of speaking for too long in your answers. Just 10 or 20 seconds of talking is fine.

You can use the three-step YES Method for all your part-one answers. Just say:

  • Y our answer (say a movie you like)
  • E xplain your answer (say why you like it) or add more details
  • S top talking (let the examiner know you’re ready for the next question)

Example Answers

Here are 10 good answers, which you can use for ideas.

1. My favorite movie is a classic romance movie called Titanic. It’s about a poor young man called Jack who falls in love with a rich young woman named Rose on board a huge ship that sinks at sea. It’s very romantic and tragic. It’s very moving and it always makes me cry.

2. I love this amazing science fiction movie called Avatar. It’s about humans trying to get special resources from another planet, which has tall blue aliens living there. The special effects and action scenes are incredible.

Lord of the Rings

3. Lord of the Rings is my favorite movie. It’s a trilogy of three movies, really. I love it because I’m a big fan of fantasy and I’ve read all the books as well.

The Lion King

4. I’ve always loved the Lion King, which is a wonderful animated movie about a young lion who has to become king of the animals. The best thing about this movie is the music, which is very inspiring and heart warming.

5. I think Avengers is such a cool movie. I love all superhero movies, but Avengers is my favorite. To my mind, Iron Man is the best character. He’s played by an actor named Robert Downey Junior.

6. I love Toy Story because I can watch it with my children and they love it as well. It’s a very charming story about toys that come to life at night.

The Big Lebowski

7. There’s a funny movie called The Big Lebowski that was a kind of cult classic movie when I was younger. I love it because the protagonist, who’s called Lebowski, is so laid back and hilarious.

8. My favorite movie is The Matrix, which is a really popular science fiction film. The plot is totally mind-blowing. And the fight scenes are out of this world.

Harry Potter

9. I’ve always loved the Harry Potter movies. I love fantasy stories like that, and I’ve also read all the books.

Don’t Know the English Name

10. My favorite movie is a film from my country about a soldier who goes to war to protect the people he loves. It’s a very moving story about brotherhood and friendship and making sacrifices for people you care about.

Now, It’s Your Turn

Give this question a go yourself. It’s best to practice by recording yourself.

Set up a voice recorder and ask aloud, “What is your favorite movie?”

Answer as quickly as you can, using the three-step YES Method.

When you’ve finished answering, listen to yourself, and think of any ways you could improve your answer.

Then
 do it again!

Keep repeating this process and you’ll soon be ready for part one of your IELTS Speaking test.

Sample Answer

Oh
this is such a difficult topic. There are so many great films I’ve seen and to choose one as my favourite is just impossible.

But that’s what I’ve been asked to talk about so the film I’ve gone for is Forest Gump not only because I think it’s a great film but also it’s one I guess most people have seen so I won’t appear to be some kind of film buff that’s talking about an Art House movie nobody’s ever heard of.  And Forest Gump won around six Oscars, including Best Picture so, if that’s anything to go by , then it must be pretty good!

I must have seen it around three or four times. I never saw it when it was first released in 1994. I was a bit too young at the time, just a year old but I saw it first on TV when I was around 12 or 13, watching it with my elder brother who kept on trying to explain to me what it was all about. And since then, I recall watching it at least twice on streaming services .

One of the things I most like about the film is that it is not easy to put a label on it . In a sense it’s whatever you want it to be . On one level, it’s a romantic comedy , a love story. At the same time, it’s a fantasy, what some people call “magic realism” because it mixes fantasy with real events. Or is it a kind of political drama or satire even, a critical look at the history of the United States from the 1960s through to the early 1980s?

It tells the story of Forest Gump from his childhood onwards and the love between him and his mother as well as his love for a girl, Jenny, he meets at school. Forest appears to be slow-witted, completely innocent but over the years accomplishes so much, winning medals for bravery in battle, becoming a top table tennis player, setting up a shrimp fishing business and making a million out of it, as well as meeting several US Presidents including JF Kennedy. Meanwhile, Jenny leads a different life, ending up with drug and alcohol issues. At the end though, they finally get married and have a year of happiness before she dies, leaving him with their young son.

There are those who have criticized the film for having as its hero a man who has no thoughts on anything, except for an unbounded optimism, who becomes successful at whatever he does without any conscious effort. I understand that view and see it as another layer of meaning the story has. That’s what makes it such a great film. There’s something in it for everybody. It can make you laugh, cry, feel for the characters and get annoyed with them all at once. In other words, the film is open to interpretation and you can get a lot out of it in all kinds of ways . And the acting of course, especially with Tom Hanks in the lead , is first class. I know he has starred in many films but I believe this is his best.

Essays About Movies: 7 Examples and 5 Writing Prompts

Check out our guide with essays about movies for budding videographers and artistic students. Learn from our helpful list of examples and prompts.

Watching movies is a part of almost everyone’s life. They entertain us, teach us lessons, and even help us socialize by giving us topics to talk about with others. As long as movies have been produced, everyone has patronized them.  Essays about movies  are a great way to learn all about the meaning behind the picture.

Cinema is an art form in itself. The lighting, camera work, and acting in the most widely acclaimed movies are worthy of praise. Furthermore, a movie can be used to send a message, often discussing issues in contemporary society. Movies are entertaining, but more importantly, they are works of art. 1. My Favorite Movie

2. movies genres, 3. special effects in movies, 4. what do you look for in a movie, 5. the evolution of movies.

“Films encourage us to take action. Our favourite characters, superheroes, teach us life lessons. They give us ideas and inspiration to do everything for the better instead of just sitting around, waiting for things to go their way. Films about famous personalities are the perfect way to affect social behaviour positively. Films are a source of knowledge. They can help learn what’s in the trend, find out more about ancient times, or fill out some knowledge gaps.”

In this movie essay, Rathod gives readers three ways watching movies can positively affect us. Movie writers, producers, and directors use their platform to teach viewers life skills, the importance of education, and the contrast between good and evil. Watching movies can also help us improve critical thinking, according to Briggs. Not only do movies entertain us, but they also have many educational benefits. “Many people involving children and adults can effect with their sleeping disturbance and anxiety. Myths, non-realistic, fairy tales could respond differently with being in the real world. Horror movies bring a lot of excitement and entertainment among you and your family. Horror movies can cause physical behavior changes in a person by watching the films. The results of watching horror movies shows that is has really effect people whether you’re an adult, teens, and most likely happens during your childhood.”

In his essay, Briggs acknowledges why people enjoy horror movies so much but warns of their adverse effects on viewers. Most commonly, they cause viewers nightmares, which may cause anxiety and sleep disorders. He focuses on the films’ effects on children, whose more sensitive, less developed brains may respond with worse symptoms, including major trauma. The films can affect all people negatively, but children are the most affected.

“This was the message of Casablanca in late 1942. It was the ideal opportunity for America to utilize its muscles and enter the battle. America was to end up the hesitant gatekeeper of the entire world. The characters of Casablanca, similar to the youthful Americans of the 1960s who stick headed the challenge development, are ‘genuine Americans’ lost in a hostile region, battling to open up another reality.”

In this essay, the author discusses the 1942 film  Casablanca , which is said to be the greatest movie ever made, and explains why it has gotten this reputation. To an extent, the film’s storyline, acting, and even relatability (it was set during World War II) allowed it to shine from its release until the present. It invokes feelings of bravery, passion, and nostalgia, which is why many love the movie. You can also check out these  books about adaption .

4.   Dune Review: An Old Story Reshaped For The New 2021 Audience by Oren Cohen

“Lady Jessica is a powerful woman in the original book, yet her interactions with Paul diminish her as he thinks of her as slow of thought. Something we don’t like to see in 2021 — and for a good reason. Every book is a product of its time, and every great storyteller knows how to adapt an old story to a new audience. I believe Villeneuve received a lot of hate from diehard Dune fans for making these changes, but I fully support him.”

Like the previous essay, Cohen reviews a film, in this case, Denis Villeneuve’s  Dune , released in 2021. He praises the film, writing about its accurate portrayal of the epic’s vast, dramatic scale, music, and, interestingly, its ability to portray the characters in a way more palatable to contemporary audiences while staying somewhat faithful to the author’s original vision. Cohen enjoyed the movie thoroughly, saying that the movie did the book justice.

“Those travelers added around 630 million New Zealand dollars ($437 million) to the country’s economy in 2019 alone, the tourism authority told CNBC. A survey by the tourism board, however, showed that almost one in five Kiwis are worried that the country attracts too many tourists. Overcrowding at tourist spots, lack of infrastructure, road congestion and environmental damage are creating tension between locals and visitors, according to a 2019 report by Tourism New Zealand.”

The locations where successful movies are filmed often become tourist destinations for fans of those movies. Goel writes about how “film tourism” affects the residents of popular filming locations. The environment is sometimes damaged, and the locals are caught off guard. Though this is not always the case, film tourism is detrimental to the residents and ecosystem of these locations. 6. Moonage Daydream:  “Who Is He? What Is He?” by Jonathan Romney

“Right from the start, Brett Morgen’s  Moonage Daydream  (2022) catches us off guard. It begins with an epigraph musing on Friedrich Nietzsche’s proclamation that “God is dead,” then takes us into deep space and onto the surface of the moon. It then unleashes an image storm of rockets, robots, and star-gazers, and rapid-fire fragments of early silent cinema, 1920s science fiction, fifties cartoons, and sixties and seventies newsreel footage, before lingering on a close-up of glittery varnish on fingernails.”

Moonage Daydream  is a feature film containing never-before-seen footage of David Bowie. In this essay, Romney delves into the process behind creating the movie and how the footage was captured. It also looks at the director’s approach to creating a structured and cohesive film, which took over two years to plan. This essay looks at how Bowie’s essence was captured and preserved in this movie while displaying the intricacies of his mind.

7. La Bamba:  American Dreaming, Chicano Style by Yolanda Machado

“A traumatic memory, awash in hazy neutral tones, arising as a nightmare. Santo & Johnny’s mournful “Sleep Walk” playing. A sudden death, foreshadowing the passing of a star far too young. The opening sequence of Luis Valdez’s  La Bamba  (1987) feels like it could be from another film—what follows is largely a celebration of life and music.”

La Bamba  is a well-known movie about a teenage Mexican migrant who became a rock ‘n’ roll star. His rise to fame is filled with difficult social dynamics, and the star tragically dies in a plane crash at a young age. In this essay, Machado looks at how the tragic death of the star is presented to the viewer, foreshadowing the passing of the young star before flashing back to the beginning of the star’s career. Machado analyses the storyline and directing style, commenting on the detailed depiction of the young star’s life. It’s an in-depth essay that covers everything from plot to writing style to direction.

5 Prompts for Essays About Movies

Simple and straightforward, write about your favorite movie. Explain its premise, characters, and plot, and elaborate on some of the driving messages and themes behind the film. You should also explain why you enjoy the movie so much: what impact does it have on you? Finally, answer this question in your own words for an engaging piece of writing.

From horror to romance, movies can fall into many categories. Choose one of the main genres in cinema and discuss the characteristics of movies under that category. Explain prevalent themes, symbols, and motifs, and give examples of movies belonging to your chosen genre. For example, horror movies often have underlying themes such as mental health issues, trauma, and relationships falling apart.

Without a doubt, special effects in movies have improved drastically. Both practical and computer-generated effects produce outstanding, detailed effects to depict situations most would consider unfathomable, such as the vast space battles of the  Star Wars  movies. Write about the development of special effects over the years, citing evidence to support your writing. Be sure to detail key highlights in the history of special effects.

Movies are always made to be appreciated by viewers, but whether or not they enjoy them varies, depending on their preferences. In your essay, write about what you look for in a “good” movie in terms of plot, characters, dialogue, or anything else. You need not go too in-depth but explain your answers adequately. In your opinion, you can use your favorite movie as an example by writing about the key characteristics that make it a great movie.

Essays About Movies: The evolution of movies

From the silent black-and-white movies of the early 1900s to the vivid, high-definition movies of today, times have changed concerning movies. Write about how the film industry has improved over time. If this topic seems too broad, feel free to focus on one aspect, such as cinematography, themes, or acting.

My Favourite Movie

All of us love to watch movies. A good movie is one in which we identify with the characters, share their joys and sorrows and become one with them.

‘Finding Nemo’ is the story of a father—son pair of clownfish living in the Great Barrier Reef. The father, Marlin, loses his wife Coral and the rest of his family to a fish attack. Due to a crack in his egg, his only child Nemo, grows up with one small, weak fin which makes his father very protective of him. Ignoring his father Marlin’s constant warnings, Nemo ventures out into the open sea and gets picked up by a diver and lands up in a dentist’s office in Sydney. The movie tells the heroic story of Marlin, who, with the help of a blue tang, Dory, leaves the safety of his coral enclave and embarks on a journey into the ocean to save his son.

Life like animation of each character makes them believable while the vivid colours of the fishes and the coral reef make the film a visual delight. The movie captivates every person’s heart with its simple yet endearing tale of the coming of age of Nemo and his father’s struggle to let go off his past and learn to trust his son’s abilities.

Great Movie Speeches in 2 minutes (8 examples)

Movie speeches are a great opportunity see how much impact you can have in a short space of time.

I watched ‘ Fair Game ‘ last night (with Sean Penn and Naomi Watts) which ended with a powerful movie speech. Powerful and short . In fact, the best movie speeches are only about 100 seconds. (The Gettysburg Address was about 2 min long).

Hopefully these movies speeches will get you in the mood to produce powerful business presentations (most of which are longer than they need to be ).

And by the way, the speakers giving these movie speeches  don’t rush . There are long pauses . In fact, they generally speak at half the pace of most business presentations. Yet they convey so much.

You can say a lot in a minute or two if you clarify your ideas and craft your messages .

List of great movie speeches…

TRANSCRIPT:

“I ain’t draft-dodgin.’ I ain’t burnin’ no flag. And I ain’t runnin’ to Canada. I’m stayin’ right here.

You wanna send me to jail? Fine, you go right ahead. I’ve been in jail for 400 years. I can be there for 4 or 5 more.

But I ain’t goin’ no 10,000 miles to help murder and kill other poor people . If I wanna die, I’ll die right here, right now fightin’ you — if I wanna die.

You my enemy. Not no Chinese, no Viet Cong, no Japanese.

You my opposer — when I want freedom.

You my opposer — when I want justice.

You my opposer — when I want equality.

Want me to go to somewhere and I fight for you? You won’t even stand up for me right here in America for my rights and my religious beliefs. You won’t even stand up for me right here at home .”

A Beautiful Mind (2002)

my favourite movie speech in english

“I’ve always believed in numbers and the equations and logics that lead to reason .

But after a lifetime of such pursuits, I ask,

What truly is logic? Who decides reason?

My quest has taken me through the physical, the metaphysical, the delusional — and back. And I have made the most important discovery of my career, the most important discovery of my life: It is only in the mysterious equations of love that any logic or reasons can be found.

I’m only here tonight because of you [wife, Alicia]. You are the reason I am. You are all my reasons . Thank you.”

Fair Game (2011)

(Less than 2 mins) Enlightening movie speech about the decision to go to war in Iraq. Watch the movie speech here.

“ How many of you know the 16 words in President Bush’s State of the Union Address that led us to war? (none) How many know my wife’s name? (everyone) .

How can you know one, and not the other? When did the question move from ‘Why are we going to war?’ to ‘Who is this man’s wife?’

I asked the first question, and somebody else asked the second. And it worked. Because none of us know the truth. The offence that was committed was not committed against me, it was not committed against my wife – it was committed against you. All of you.

If that makes you angry or feel misrepresented, do something about it.

When Benjamin Franklin left Independence Hall, just after the second draft of it, he was approached by a woman on the street, the woman said, ‘Mr Franklin, what manner of government have you bequeathed us? And Franklin said, ‘A Republic madam
 if you can keep it.’

The responsibility of a country is not in the hands of a privileged few. We are strong and we are free from tyranny as long as each one of us remembers his or her duty as a citizen. Whether it’s to report a pothole at the top of your street, or lies in a State of The Union Address, speak out! Ask those questions. Demand that truth. Democracy is not a free ride man, I’m here to tell you.

But this is where we live. And if we do our job, this is where our children will live. God bless America.”

Wall street (1987)

my favourite movie speech in english

“Well, ladies and gentlemen, we’re not here to indulge in fantasy , but in political and economic reality. America has become a second-rate power. Its trade deficit and its fiscal deficit are at nightmare proportions. Now, in the days of the free market, when our country was a top industrial power, there was accountability to the stockholder. The Carnegies, the Mellons, the men that built this great industrial empire, made sure of it because it was their money at stake. Today, management has no stake in the company!

All together, these men sitting up here [Teldar management] own less than 3 percent of the company. And where does Mr. Cromwell[CEO] put his million-dollar salary? Not in Teldar stock; he owns less than 1 percent.

You own the company. That’s right — you, the stockholder.

Teldar Paper has 33 different vice presidents, each earning over 200 thousand dollars a year. Now, I have spent the last two months analyzing what all these guys do, and I still can’t figure it out. One thing I do know is that our paper company lost 110 million dollars last year, and I’ll bet that half of that was spent in all the paperwork going back and forth between all these vice presidents.

And you are all being royally screwed over by these, these bureaucrats, with their steak lunches, their hunting and fishing trips, their corporate jets and golden parachutes.

The new law of evolution in corporate American seems to be survival of the un-fittest . Well in my book you either do it right or you get eliminated. In the last seven deals that I’ve been involved with there were 2.5 million stockholders who have made a pre-tax profit of 11 million dollars. I am not a destroyer of companies, I am a liberator of them!

The point is ladies and gentlemen that Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed in all of its forms. Greed for life, money, love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind, and greed – you mark my words – will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the U.S.A .

Thank you very much.”

The Verdict (1982)

my favourite movie speech in english

“Well…You know, so much of the time we’re just lost. We say, “Please, God, tell us what is right. Tell us what is true.”

I mean there is no justice. The rich win; the poor are powerless. We become tired of hearing people lie. And after a time we become dead, a little dead. We think of ourselves as victims — and we become victims. We become weak; we doubt ourselves; we doubt our beliefs; we doubt our institutions; and we doubt the law.

But today you are the law . You are the law, not some book, not the lawyers, not a marble statue, or the trappings of the court. See, those are just symbols of our desire to be just. They are, in fact, a prayer, I mean a fervent and a frightened prayer.

In my religion, they say, “Act as if you had faith; faith will be given to you.”

If we are to have faith in justice we need only to believe in ourselves and act with justice. See, I believe there is justice in our hearts .”

Malice (1993)

(90 seconds) One of the most devious movie speeches; where Alec Baldwin plays a Doctor intentionally losing a malpractice suit to collect a share of the insurance money. Watch the movie speech here.

“ The question is, “Do I have a ‘God Complex’ ?

Which makes me wonder if this lawyer has any idea as to the kind of grades one has to receive in college to be accepted at a top medical school.

Or if you have the vaguest clue as to how talented someone has to be to lead a surgical team.

I have an M.D. from Harvard. I am board certified in cardiothoracic medicine and trauma surgery. I have been awarded citations from seven different medical boards in New England; and I am never, ever sick at sea.

So I ask you, when someone goes into that chapel and they fall on their knees and they pray to God that their wife doesn’t miscarry, or that their daughter doesn’t bleed to death, or that their mother doesn’t suffer acute neural trauma from postoperative shock, who do you think they’re praying to? Now, you go ahead and read your Bible, Dennis, and you go to your church and with any luck you might win the annual raffle. But if you’re looking for God, he was in operating room number two on November 17th, and he doesn’t like to be second guessed.

Let me tell you something: You ask me if I have a God complex?

….and this side show is over.”

Gandhi (1982)

(Less than 2 mins) Movies speeches like this show how messages can change the world! Dramatic yet calm speech advocating a policy of non-violence while opposing an unjust law.

Person from the large, angry audience : “ In this cause, I would be willing to die! “

Gandhi : I praise such courage. I need such courage because in this cause I, too, am prepared to die. But, my friend, there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill . Whatever they do to us, we will attack no one, kill no one, but we will not give our fingerprints — not one of us.

They will imprison us, and they will fine us. They will seize our possessions, but they cannot take away our self-respect if we do not give it to them.

Audience Member : Have you been to prison?! They beat us and torture us! I say that we should —

Gandhi : I am asking you to fight! To fight against their anger, not to provoke it. We will not strike a blow, but we will receive them. And through our pain we will make them see their injustice, and it will hurt — as all fighting hurts. But we cannot lose. We cannot. They may torture my body, break my bones, even kill me. Then, they will have my dead body — not my obedience.

We are Hindu and Muslim, children of God, each one of us. Let us take a solemn oath, in His name, that come what may we will not submit to this law.”

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

(2 mins) Great movie speech where Morgan Freeman’s character ‘Redding’ addresses the parole board for the final time. Watch the movie speech here.

“ Parole Board Interviewer : Please, sit down. Ellis Boyd Redding, your files say you’ve served 40 years of a life sentence. You feel you’ve been rehabilitated?

Redding : Rehabilitated? Well, now, let me see. You know, I don’t have any idea what that means .

Parole Board Interviewer : Uh, well, it means you’re ready to rejoin society.

Redding : I know what you think it means, sonny. To me, it’s just a made up word, a politician’s word, so that young fellas like yourself can wear a suit and a tie and have a job. What do you really wanna know? Am I sorry for what I did?

Parole Board Interviewer : Well, are you?

Redding : There’s not a day goes by I don’t feel regret. Not because I’m in here, or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then, a young, stupid kid who committed that terrible crime. I wanna talk to him. I wanna try to talk some sense to him — tell him the way things are. But I can’t. That kid’s long gone and this old man is all that’s left. I gotta live with that.

Rehabilitated? It’s just a bullshit word.

So you go on and stamp your form, sonny, and stop wasting my time. Because to tell you the truth, I don’t give a shit.

Parole Board Interviewer : [Stamp: APPROVED]”

Best Movie Speeches of All Time: 15 Most Inspirational Movie Speeches Ever

If you are looking for the collection of the best movie speeches ever then you have come to the right place because in this post I have compiled a list of the top 15 inspirational movie speeches ever .

If you know anything about me then you will know that I love the art of communication. I love reading and I absolutely love speeches. Speeches are an extremely important part of our lives , whether you realise it or not.

I will enjoy movies not because of their action and adventure but because of their speeches. Speeches have the power to move you emotionally and to even change the way you think of life. Many people are afraid of speaking in public but if you can master the art of public speaking (like the characters in these movies have) it can impact your life dramatically.

There have been many great speeches in movies throughout movie history, some a lot better than others. I have compiled a list of what I believe to be the best movie speeches ever. All of these inspirational speeches from movies have some things in common.

They are extremely moving, they are uplifting and they inspire the viewer to live life to their full potential (even if they do it indirectly). These speeches come out of their character’s moment of strength and out of the wisdom they have gained from their lives (although fictional). By watching these you will be moved and changed forever, you might even pick up some tips about how to become a great public speaker .

I have listed them in ascending order. With the greatest movie speeches of all time being placed furthest down the page. These are all great movie speeches and I believe that everyone will agree. Watch them and enjoy.

15. The Replacements – Pain Heals, Chicks Dig Scars and Glory Lasts Forever

The replacements is a great movie about a team of misfits who are hired to play while the regular football starts go on strike for more money. The speech is short and sweet and informal, which is exactly fitting for this movie. Great speech and a movie well worth watching.

The movie doesn’t end at the grand final. The replacements are only hired for 4 games. This speech occurs during the final of their 4 games. They have already overcome bullying and much adversity to get them here. They are currently losing the game and need to make up for it in the final minutes.

14. Remember The Titans – A Lesson From The Dead

We all remember the remember the titans movie. It is awe inspiring, yet it contains humor and devastating drama. The story takes place at the time of integration of blacks and whites and this football team will have to deal with their colour issues if they ever want to win a game.

This film does not have a truly inspirational movie at the end. There is a locker room scene but it doesn’t qualify for the best movies speeches of all time. This speech however, does.

This speech occurs during a training camp where the black boys and the white boys are starting to come together as a team, despite much racial difficulty. After a long run coach Boone takes them to a sacred place to inspire unity between colors.

13. Dead Poets Society – Seize The Day

I have not seen this movie in a long time, but I was inspired by the fact that they could make a movie about poetry and it could still be interesting. Seize that day before it is too late.

This speech is delivered upon the introduction of the new teacher. He sets himself apart by teaching these boys about life and about the importance of every moment. The crescendo occurs later in the film where the teacher is forced out of his class (fired) and all the boys stand on their tables declaring “Oh Captain, My Captain”.

The concept of seizing the day and not letting it pass you by continues to inspire me, even though I first watched this movie over 10 years ago. Stand up, be inspired and make every day count. It is not so much the speech that is amazing but the impact it has on you.

12. Team America – Dicks F#@K Assholes – WARNING, LOTS OF SWEARING

Team America was a pretty controversial movie, and this speech is incredibly rude and strange. But yet it holds a great element of truth that we can all take home.

This speech happens towards the very end of the movie when Kim Jong Il and the Film Actor’s Guild are trying to destroy the world. This speech is hilarious, and if you look beyond the profanity it can actually be very inspiring.

11. Gladiator- My Name is Maximus

“My name is Maximus” – Damn I was I was as much of a man as this Gladiator was. The way he says it with such conviction is great to watch. Incredible movie and this speech continues to inspire me and give me goosebumps every time I watch it.

Maximus is stripped of his title as chief commander when the King is killed by his power hungry son. His wife is then murdered along with his children and he is forced to become a gladiator. He is so successful and becomes so famous that the new king comes to meet him and wants him to reveal his name.

The shock on the King’s face is priceless. He has just met his match. The movie then goes on to an epic battle between the Gladiator and the king.

10. Rocky Balboa – How Hard You Can Get Hit

Although Rocky does look like he has had a fair bit of plastic surgery he has a great story and gives a great speech all the same. It is amazing that the actor, Sylvestor Stallone, actually has a Rocky type story.

He got hit, and he got hit hard, but he kept coming back for more. He wanted to be an actor, and no one would have ever hired someone that looks like he does and that talks out of the side of their mouth like he does. But he got hit and came back, true inspiration.

9. Lord of The Rings – It is Not This Day

Lord of the Rings is the ultimate trilogy. This speech is given by Aragon, the king, at the black gates of Mordor. He was willing to give his life so that Frodo could have precious time to destroy the ring.

Obviously a poignant moment in the film, I find this speech more inspirational given the fact that Aragon and his army is facing certain death, unless of course Frodo and Sam can destroy the ring. A big gamble that pays off.

8. 300 – Final Speech

Man I wish I had bodies like these guys do, and spirits like they do. They know what they want, they know what they have to do and they go for it. If you are a guy you will love the movie for the raw masculinity, and if you are a woman you will love this movie for the raw masculinity also. 😉

7. The Miracle – Pre Game Speech

If it is based on a true story then it is all the more inspiring. This is the story of the Americans first victory over the Russians in Ice Hockey at the Olympics. They would not have achieved this without the genius of one coach, and they did achieve this and made history.

6. Independence Day – World Independence Day Speech

I watched independence day when I was a kid, but our TV was so blurry I couldn’t see what was happening. But I remembered it had a great speech. I watched it a second time JUST to see the speech. It is a good speech.

5. Armageddon – 14 Brave Souls Speech

Probably my favourite movie of all time, because it has everything in it – Action, Romance, Humour, Drama, Space. It is about the quest to destroy an asteroid heading towards earth (before it destroys the earth). It is extremely funny and emotional also. This speech is from the president of the united states as the astronauts are preparing to launch into space towards the asteroid.

4. Coach Carter – Our Deepest Fear Speech

Coach Carter is an incredible movie about a man who takes on coaching a basketball team in the trouble filled area of Richmond. This speach is from one of his students Timo Cruz who was almost killed working as a drug dealer. Inspiring speech and an incredibly inspiring movie.

3. Any Given Sunday – Al Pacino’s Speech

If I am completely honest with you I have never seen this movie. But I have watched this speech and I love it. An incredible speech and a great movie. Whoever wrote this is a genius.

2. Braveheart – Freedom

Obviously I was questioning putting this speech as number 1. It is based on a true story, it has an Australian in it (like me), it is based in Scotland (where my dad is from) and it is just an incredible speech of sacrifice for something higher than ourselves. But in the end I couldn’t justify putting it as the number 1 speech. Thus is comes in a close second for me in the running for the best movie speech of all time.

1. Lord of The Rings – The Tales That Mattered

It is expected that brave people like William Wallace make brave speeches to inspire those they lead. It is not expected that someone if relative insignificant, who is no great leader nor brave warrior, can make a speech so powerful that it brings you to tears and gives you goose bumps all over. This is definately the best inspirational movie speech of all time. Good work to the writers and the actors.

These are 15 great speeches, and I would say these are the 15 best inspirational speeches of all time. Over time more speeches will need to be added to this list, but these 15 speeches will remain great speeches that have touches the lives of thousands.

Describe your favorite movie essay

Describe your favorite movie essay 3 models

Last updated Saturday , 16-03-2024 on 09:58 am

Describe your favorite movie essay , that shows the quality of the favorite films that young people love and accept their views frequently, what are the reasons for their love and preference for these films, and whether they are present it in cinemas with friends or with your family members or your own.

Describe your favorite movie essay

I am a student in stage ……. I love watching movies so I go to the cinema every week and it is the weekend, and my favorite film which I enjoy when I watch it is Science fiction film, because science fiction films develop a person’s thinking, and I usually like to go to the movies with my friends.

While my sister’s favorite film is romantic, she likes romantic films that talk about emotional problems. My sister loves these films because she knows many of the problems of teenagers and how to deal with these problems and identify the correct ways to solve emotional problems.

My mother’s favorite film is the social film. She likes to watch social films because these films present special problems for the family and the relationship of the husband to his wife, as well as the father’s relationship with the sons and the relationship of the children with each other, and also the problems of adolescents and the role of both the family and the school in solving these problems Related to drug use, and other things that harm the health and psychological health of young people.

My father’s favorite film is the historical film. My father loves historical films because we know the important historical events of previous years and the effects of these events on humanity, especially films dealing with wars such as World War I and World War II.

My favorite movie essay

Undoubtedly, there are many of my favorite famous films that are shown a lot on the cinema screen or on TV. But there is only one movie shown every year on New Year’s Eve that is beloved by all of us and we cannot get bored of it and it is Home alone.

This wonderful film describes a naughty child who has many naughty sisters, due to pressure and lack of attention from the mother, who forgets him alone at home and faces thieves and dangers in a funny, intelligent and planning way.

Since my childhood, this film represents a lot to me, whether from the comedic aspect or the intellectual aspect and the development of intelligence.

I found the story completely intricate and a wonderful performance by all the heroes, a creative portrayal that brings you into the atmosphere and makes you feel all the funny, sad and terrifying feelings.

I can say that this is my favorite movie that always makes me fall in love with it and I never get tired of watching it.

Describe your favourite movie essay

My favorite movie is Brave Heart, starring the great Mel Gibson. It was filmed in the nineties, but it is constantly shown on TV. I love this great work very much, there are many wonderful things in it such as, love, sincerity, trust, treachery, dream, sacrifice, ambition and planning.

The film presents many aspects of the qualities that exist in life, whether for the period contemporaneous with the events of the film, or to this day with different titles, names and jobs.

I liked the ending very much and found it realistic and did not have a wide imagination that underestimated the mind of the viewer.

Speech on My Favourite Book

Preparing for public speeches can be daunting for many students. From overcoming stage fright to deciding on the right topic to finding the right arguments, the process is quite lengthy. That is why, in this blog, we have curated two samples for speech on My favourite book to help you prepare better for your speaking and listening tasks at school.

Speech on My Favourite Book (2-3 Minutes)

Good morning to all. My name is Reeva Raj and my topic for the English-speaking task is My favourite book. “ Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers”. Books are friends who never leave your side. I find this saying to be very true as books have always been there for me. I enjoy reading books. My favourite book is Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. This book is about wizards and the wizarding world. Harry Potter contains a total of seven books. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the 2nd book in the series and it’s my favourite.

There are so many things for readers to learn from the series Harry Potter. It teaches us the importance of friendship. It teaches us that someone’s background doesn’t determine his or her value as a person and many more lessons. It also showed me that no one in this universe is perfect. Everyone has good and evil inside them. I have learnt a lot from this great book. It remains one of the most precious treasures of mankind.

Speech for 5-10 Minutes

Good morning to all. My name is Reeva Raj and my topic for the English-speaking task is My favourite book. “ Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers”. Books are friends who never leave your side. I find this saying to be very true as books have always been there for me. I enjoy reading books. My favourite book is Iliad by Homer. The Iliad is an epic poem written by the Greek poet Homer. It tells the story of the last year of the Trojan War fought between the city of Troy and the Greeks. Achilles – Achilles is the main character and the greatest warrior in the world.

The Iliad teaches us many things, such as The importance of family is a central theme in the epic, the lovely scene of Hector with Andromache and his son is heartwarming all these years later. The friendship between Achilles and Patroclus is incredibly touching. The way Achilles fiercely and obsessively seeks vengeance for Patroclus has made many question if there was a romance between them.Priam losing his greatest son Hector and his supplication to Achilles to return his body so he and Troy can properly mourn its protector is another example of the theme of family.Achilles too lamenting his own father and how he shall never see him again, Priam and Achilles weeping together shows the futility of war as well as how family has affected these two enemies together.

The classics of Greece and Rome provide us with a set of connected stories and a cast of characters that teach us what it means to be human. They are also the basis of literature, teaching us about natural man (man at his best and worst, but natural man). They don’t give us the answers that we find in revelation, but they do give us the questions.

Books are wonderful – a bundle of pages with a cover on top brimming with content that stimulates the human imagination and helps us escape pressing reality. They are also beneficial to health. If you don’t like reading books, it’s definitely worth trying different genres until you find what interests you. Thank you for listening. I hope the speech was informative for you.
