Persona 3 Reload: Complete August Walkthrough

Summer vacation is finally here!

Quick Links

August day-to-day walkthrough, what to prioritize in august.

While Persona 3 Reload is filled with plenty of things to do in your free time, and each month varies in how much time you have available, you can do everything you'd like with the right strategy. It takes a bit of planning and plenty of patience to get the most out of your high school days at Gekkoukan.

Persona 3 Reload: Complete Persona Fusion Guide

As August approaches, you'll have more than enough free time to explore and hangout with your friends. Summer break is approaching, so your days will be packed with fun and travel while your nights are spent exploring Tartarus and fighting shadows.

When August finally hits, you're already on summer vacation . Here, you'll be out of school and have more time to do what you want with friends. There are also festivals for you to attend to enhance your stats and deepen your bonds with your teammates and friends.

Due to summer break, not all Social Links will be available .

You can still hangout with your friends and earn points towards the next rank , but many of your classmates won't rank up during this time .

With so much free time in August, but few Social Links to rank up, you'll want to prioritize spending time with your friends and members of SEES. There are unique opportunities, like the Summer Film Festival, to get to know your friends and improve your stats .

Don't forget about Tartarus, though, as you'll need to progress through the second block of Yabbashah . You can put off most of your dungeon delving until later in the month, once people have wandered into Tartarus. You'll want to make sure you rescue them before the next full moon .

You can take it easy in August and focus on enjoying your time, but don't forget about important expiration dates, like requests from Elizabeth or the film festival.

Persona 3 Portable 100% Walkthrough – Male Character

January 19, 2023 by HardyBoy 143 Comments

This Persona 3 Portable 100% Walkthrough will get you all possible Trophies, Achievements, and Social Links (S-Links) in a single playthrough. This is updated for the PS4 and Steam version of the game released in 2023. At the start of the game you can pick between a Male or Female character. This walkthrough is specifically for the MALE character, this is very important for the S-Links! The S-Link requirements for the other gender are different.

A playthrough will take roughly 40 hours. For all trophies you will need to do 2 playthroughs, one with each gender for trophy “A Pair of Wild Cards”. Some dialogues and relationships are also different between the characters.

With this walkthrough, you will be able to get all S-Links maxed out for the Male Character, and also you will max out all social abilities.

Note: for the similarly named “Persona 3 Reload” refer to Persona 3 Reload Walkthrough .

Terminology used in this Guide:

  • Day/Night: this means do the actions during Day or Night
  • Nothing special to do: This means if you have to pick an option, choose whatever you want
  • Quiz Game: This means go to Paulownia Mall -> Game Panic -> and to the Quiz Game (3000 yen)
  • Movie: This means go to Port Island Station -> Screen Shot and watch a movie
  • Class Answer: This means to give the respective answer. For example, 1 means give the first answer
  • Print Club Game: This means go to Paulownia Mall -> Game Panic -> Print Club (1,500 yen)
  • Magician 1, Chariot 1 etc: This means talk to the respective Character to increase the S-Link, also you will need a Persona of that Arcana (Magician, Chariot etc) to get more XP for the S-Link
  • Free: This means there is nothing to do
  • IMPORTANT : For all Social Links, make sure that you have an Persona with you that Matches the Social Link you wanna upgrade. For the Lovers Link for Example take a Persona like Pixie with you.

  • Talk to Mitsuru -> Okay -> I’m ready to enter Tartarus.
  • The goal this time is to reach Floor 262.
  • This is the last time you can do anything in this playthrough, so keep in mind to level as much as possible for either the final boss or the two secret bosses. Also keep in mind that if you go into NG+, you take your money and the level of your main character with you as well as all equipment but no other items. So get the best equipment before starting the final boss fight.

  • Phase 14 (Death): Nullifies Light and Darkness
  • A fight against Nyx will start, just follow the game’s instructions, you can not lose this phase.

:gold:

You will skip into march now, you will have two more days 3/3 and 3/5, but you can basically do nothing unless you wanna talk to some characters. So you can go straight to the dorm and into bed to skip the remaining days. After the credits, you are forced to make a save. Select a new save slot so you don’t overwrite your master save from 1/31. This save will be your cleared game save. When you are back in the main menu, you can choose the cleared save game to start a New Game +.

Congratulations, you finished Persona 3 Portable.

Thank you for getting this out so quickly you are awesome

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 2:22 am

Yeah guys don’t follow this walkthrough it seems to have a lot of mistakes and to have a perfect guide on release date of a persona game is very rare so follow with caution

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 7:02 am

Davis is right. A lot of walkthroughs based on original and previous comments show there are changes…

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 3:34 pm

on 4/22 i watched a movie and got academics instead of charm

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 7:19 pm

Same for me

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 8:19 pm

Same here. Did you proceed with that or do something else? I put everything on hold because it makes me unsure about the rest of the playthrough and missing trophies.

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 1:16 am

I can promise you that even if this was wrong you will get the trophy for maxing all social abilities because there is a lot of free time towards the end of the game.

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 6:27 pm

How the heck did you get a comprehensive walkthrough out this quickly?? You’re sure this is the optimal route? Amazing job 🙂

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 2:08 am

Cuz the game has been out 15+ years

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 6:35 pm

I think it would be interesting to put the name of the answer in the guide because the game received new languages and I noticed that some answers are not exactly in the line that the guide says. For example, the answer on April 8th says that it is the second option, but for me, because I play in Spanish, it was the third option.

January 20, 2023 at 2:32 am

This is a good note!

January 20, 2023 at 2:49 am

Will do that in the detailed guide. Thanks for the tip, didn’t know there are differences.

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 7:11 pm

On April 9th in class you can choose to dose off or stay awake, if you stay awake you increase academics.

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 7:31 pm

Thanks for all the great work you do. On 4/22 I went to movie theatre but it gave me +4 academics not charm.

January 20, 2023 at 1:18 am

Don’t worry about that, there will be a lot of free time later where you can max remaining social abilities. the most important thing are the s-links which are correct as i used this for my 4th playthrough.

January 19, 2023 at 8:17 pm

On 4/22 The movie give you Plus Academics & The Game Store only offers the crane game.

January 20, 2023 at 6:59 am

You have to go inside the shop for the other games.

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 10:01 pm

For 4/22, when you go see a movie, you get Academics instead of Charm. So it’s wrong here.

January 20, 2023 at 1:13 am

I’ll check my recordings later, and i’ll go myself through the game again anyway.

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 9:08 pm

Yup. Just did this and got academics as well.

' src=

January 19, 2023 at 10:41 pm

Seems you can’t get a boost from the nurse very often. Every time the guide says to talk to him, he just tells me to leave because I’m not sick or tired.

January 20, 2023 at 1:12 am

You are right, a better description will be in the detailed walkthrough anyway.

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 4:42 am

I’m pretty sure you have to reload the game at certain parts until you get “your fatigue continues” and then you can visit the school nurse

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 2:48 am

I’m very confused when this guide just says “Tartarus”. Like I’ve reached the max floor I can go to until the full moon, what’s the reason I go back? Is it specifically for quests and grinding?

January 20, 2023 at 2:53 am

Indeed it’s for request and/or leveling. Will be explained better in the detailed guide.

' src=

January 22, 2023 at 7:34 pm

Hey HardyBoy, there is Elizabeth requests that are required for compendium, when to do them?

January 24, 2023 at 5:53 pm

@Bob they all will be listed in the detailed guide. Unfortunately, i have to rewrite the detailed guide because I deleted it by accident.

January 20, 2023 at 2:51 am

On 4/28 I couldn’t find Yuko in the 2F hallway before going to the track for Chariot R2. My guess is she only allows you to walk home with her after practicing my once.

' src=

January 21, 2023 at 1:07 am

Just ran into this problem myself.

' src=

January 20, 2023 at 10:39 pm

For 5/5 you need to buy a weird takoyaki too for the hanged man flag

January 24, 2023 at 5:54 pm

This is in the detailed version. sorry that it wasn’t in earlier.

January 20, 2023 at 11:51 pm

Should the Elizabeth date be on here somewhere before 5/31? Don’t you need the reward from that in order to fuse all personas?

January 21, 2023 at 1:03 am

So I’ve been following this guide, which is very vague and end up having to look up who I have to talk to get what I need, and I’ve found the first thing I can’t seem to complete. On 4.28, Strength Flag, Yukon is not in the 2nd Flr. Hallway. In fact, she doesn’t seem to be anywhere. Is there anyone who can tell me what I missed? It would be greatly appreciated!

' src=

January 21, 2023 at 10:26 pm

She isn’t in the corridor. She appears as part of Chariot/Athletics club social link you do that day. After finishing that social link there will be an additional scene where you are leaving school and you can ask to walk home with her. She will say no but that doesn’t matter. This just sets up the flag for her to say yes next time.

January 21, 2023 at 11:07 pm

Turns out you just need to continue the chariot social link and you will be given the opportunity to ask her to walk home with you. She is not actually in the 2F hallway when you first start her social link.

January 22, 2023 at 10:21 am

Thanks everyone for the info!

' src=

January 21, 2023 at 7:17 am

How do you make enough money to go to the game room almost every night?

January 21, 2023 at 11:08 pm

Sell all unused weapons/equipment/items, and make sure to farm Tartarus for longer after you reach the barrier. The real kicker is the 40,000 yen you need for Tanaka later.

' src=

January 21, 2023 at 8:25 am

Following this guide should be taken with a grain of salt. Exercise caution, because you cannot do everything the guide says as easily as it is listed. Guide will say “Chariot 1” without even telling you who Chariot is. At that point, the game hasn’t either, so you’d have to google it. Additionally, the guide will say to spend evenings at arcade to increase stats, but what happens when, even when you’ve bought no items in stores, you don’t have the money for it?

A proper guide should list stuff like, when visiting Tartarus, to make it to the 15th floor and be sure not to exit until you have ‘x’ amount of money.

There’s also stuff like the stats being wrong (Academics instead of Charm) + guide telling you to visit the nurse to get Courage +2 but you can’t, because your character isn’t feeling tired or sick.

It’s good to have some guide rather than no guide, but this guide isn’t as detailed as it should be.

January 21, 2023 at 11:12 pm

The author clearly states at the top, in bold red font, that this guide is a work in progress. They are working on adding more detail, and this is a long game so frankly we should be happy any sort of guide is out this soon.

' src=

January 22, 2023 at 2:30 am

This guide clearly hasn’t been tested against the game it claims to be for. It completely falls down on 19 June. You need to have max courage to start the priestess social link. This is different to the persona 3 portable version which only needs lvl 2 courage.

January 22, 2023 at 5:10 am

Thinking about my comment above, I think the issue is the nurse visits to increase courage. Think you should make it clear that you will need to reload saves until tiredness carries over to get these. I didn’t realise they would be critical.

' src=

January 22, 2023 at 5:57 pm

I get that this guide is a work in progress and is not perfect, but there is actually a lot of errors in it. I will wait until the detailed guide is out and then decide if I will use it or not.

January 23, 2023 at 1:02 pm

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad a guide exists. But there’s so many incorrect or troubling things that, to me, the guy should’ve waited to post a detailed guide rather than an incorrect one.

For instance a lot of times it says to go to the school nurse for Courage boosts, even if, while playing, your character isn’t Tired or Sick. You think, well, no big deal… until the guide tells you to start the Priestess link and you can’t, because your Courage isn’t maxed. Now you’re at a loss what to do, cause the guide tells you to keep continuing the Social Link when you can’t really do it.

January 24, 2023 at 6:03 pm

@Logan S. i wasn’t sure if i should post it yet, because i knew there would be people who have trouble following this. But i decided to post it anyway for people who played the game on PSP. This walkthrough, as rough at it is, is good for maxing all s-links.

Unfortunately, I have to rewrite the detailed guide because I deleted it by accident, which means I replay the game just to double-check everything. sorry that it takes so long..

' src=

January 24, 2023 at 11:58 pm

This Guide is a work-in-progress guide. I imagine the author put a skeleton out before fleshing and fixing things up over time.

January 25, 2023 at 12:02 am

That’s actually true, some unforeseen stuff in real life happened so I had way less time than usual. My play was to get at least one detailed walkthrough out when the game was released. But as you can see it was just the rough version.

' src=

February 5, 2023 at 1:05 pm

There is a detailed guide on Gamefaqs by KADFC that states all that. I am using that, the guide tells you who and where people are, how much money you need before leaving tartarus, and also what personas you should have lined up for the next few days of social links. Also detailed explanations of game mechanics along the way, enemy weakness and boss strategies so you aren’t jumping between different guides. It is only for the femMC route though. I am doing that first, so then all my social stats will be maxed for the social links and to follow the male mc guide, as the male mc guides are all brief without explanations of anything.

For sickness, I always leave tartarus with my characters low on hp, I found that it is easier to prolong sickness that way.

February 8, 2023 at 8:09 am

I just gotta say, even though this guide initially lacked details to the point where I had to use another guide as well, I still used this one for Social Link tabs. This guide still was useful in some way, shape or form and I know how hard it must’ve been. Thank you. I’ve refreshed it & I see you made this more detailed! Future players will no doubt be grateful.

Also, for what it’s worth, I got the Max Social Links trophy on PS4 on just the male character’s playthrough of maxing everyone. Fem route wasn’t necessary. Cheers!

January 21, 2023 at 5:11 pm

Any news on detailed guide?

January 24, 2023 at 6:04 pm

I had to rewrite the detailed guide because i deleted it by accident. I will post it step by step from now on as i play through the game to get it done quickly as possible.

' src=

January 21, 2023 at 8:57 pm

Guide says to do Hierophant 2 on 4/26, but at that point it’s impossible to get a Hierophant persona, unless you can go higher than floor 5 in Tartarus on 4/23. As far as I can tell the only personas available from floors 1-5 are Pixie and Apsaras.

January 21, 2023 at 10:33 pm

It is possible through fusions. Angel and Nekomata will make an Omoikane (Hierophant).

Both Angel and Nekomata can be obtained in floors 1-14 which you can reach in your first visit to Tartarus.

Nekomata can also be made by fusing Pixie and Apsaras.

January 23, 2023 at 5:56 pm

The harder part is that you must grind to level 11 on the 23 and be able to make Valkyrie for Strength persona

January 23, 2023 at 5:58 pm

Easiest way is Pixie and Apsaras = Nekomata + Pixie = Lilim + Pixie = Valkyrie.

' src=

January 22, 2023 at 12:32 pm

Followed the guide to a t but can’t initiate justice 1 on 7/5. Any idea why?

January 22, 2023 at 12:33 pm

5/7 sorry I’m from the uk haha

January 24, 2023 at 6:07 pm

You need to talk to her three times on different dates before. I’ve put that information in the detailed version

' src=

January 31, 2023 at 7:52 pm

Like Nicholas above, I followed the guide and Justice doesn’t initiate on 5/7. The guide, as written, doesn’t work unfortunately.

February 2, 2023 at 1:18 am

Then you must have forgotten to talk to her on at least one of the days before 4/28 Tu, 4/30 Th & 5/2 Sa.

' src=

February 8, 2023 at 11:36 pm

I can’t get her s link. I’ve replayed the game from 4/25 to 5/2 at least 4 times. I went to 5/14 and still no luck. Should I try again or will I be screwed down the line if I don’t follow it correctly.

' src=

February 15, 2023 at 6:56 pm

I’m fairly certain that in the third conversation with Chihiro you have to select the “Go out with me option”. I was also having issues starting her S-link, until i reloaded and selected that dialogue. I’ts not perfect but thanks for your work on the guide, it’s helpful and a lot easier to read than some of the older guides, lol.

January 22, 2023 at 4:33 pm

I appreciate the guide and I’ve been following it…

… But because it is so incomplete, I’ve basically fudged some things up.

Like on 7/5, you write to give perfume… I had no idea I was supposed to buy perfume, of which you can only obtain it on 6/7 and 6/14… I’m now DAYS AHEAD OF THIS.

' src=

January 22, 2023 at 9:23 pm

It’s not possible to start Fuuka on 6/19 as the MC since she needs you to be badass. And you cannot be tired all the time to receive a medicine from the nurse every day. I followed everything in this guide and I am at fearless now. Fuuka’s requirement is courage lv 2 for the FEMC.

January 24, 2023 at 6:08 pm

I rewrite the detailed version anyway where you will do Fuuka S link later.

Your guide has us do Tower social link pretty early. To the point where we’re still supposed to be in the low level 20’s.

Are you doing this without having a Tower persona in your rotation? You don’t state that it’s mandatory. Plus, the lowest Tower arcana persona is level 31… so I’ve been grinding in Tartarus for a long time… Day is currently 7/5 and I am level 25. The grinding is slow as hell. But I am getting a ton of money.

There really needs to be more detail in this guide. It’d be helpful if you listed what personas are needed when going into Tartarus, level goals, things to look out for and buy… etc. There’s so much detail being foregone that it’s all guess work.

January 24, 2023 at 1:00 am

Dude this is awesome.

January 24, 2023 at 1:34 am

Its necessary to complete all the Quest to get 100%? Because i forget about the Quest 56 – I d like to visit Paulownia Mal

' src=

January 24, 2023 at 5:05 pm

You say about first social interaction with Chihiro walking home, but you need to talk to her at least 3 times before May 28th before it gives you that option.

That’s why the guide mentions the flags to talk to her a couple of days prior. There are 3 Justice flags in the guide already

January 25, 2023 at 9:16 am

Yep my bad – missed it on my first run through.

' src=

January 25, 2023 at 5:59 pm

You have to say “Lets go out” on 5/2 or it repeats until you do.

' src=

January 24, 2023 at 8:13 pm

On November, try go to the Tartarus before the 30/11 or you ganna miss some of Elizabeth requests and save lost people (not gona affect platinum if it is your first playtrough)

Other point worth mention, Elizabeth dates don’t take time.

January 25, 2023 at 12:13 am

I like to help with the guide where ever possible because it’s really helpful for me. Might wanna include the persona you should likely make in the first Tartarus Trip (Ara Mitama, Omoikane) but also if they wanna grind to Level 11 thy can get Valkyrie for Strength Link. Also that they should avoid the reaper and try to tire themselves out. And you definitely need a part in the May 4th trip that they should get the bead from the Beatle stuff for Elizabeth’s Task, especially since it will expire soon. (And maybe get Nekomata for Magician if don’t already have it).

Me and my fiancé have been playing this on separate consoles but have been pretty consistent in advancing simultaneously through the story. My problem is we are stuck on 05. 24 where you are supposed to get hermit rank 5. We have the previous level but when we try to get to the next hermit rank on 05.24 the dialogue options to answer are not popping up. This is either wrong or too soon to do this rank. But it needs to be fixed. Any ideas what could be going on here I haven’t done anything wrong up to that point and got all previous ranks.

January 25, 2023 at 3:27 am

The problem probably is that you don’t have a Persona from the Hermit arcana in your inventory.

January 25, 2023 at 4:54 am

Easiest Hermit Persona to make is a bit of a hassle and to get it at the earliest convenience (4/24) requires grinding to level 9 (This is a piece of cake though as you will want to grind to LV 11 anyway for earliest Strength persona). Since this before you can buy personas, you will also have to grind enemies lots for Fairies, Aparas’s, and Angles.

You need to make Yomatsu Shikomo. There are 2 easy ways to make it, both requiring making a Omoikane (Someone you’ll need to make 2 of as you need one to craft this and one for Herophant Social Link). Omoikane is made with fusing Angle + Nekomata. Nekomata is a likly first fuse as it is Fairy + Aparas. Now if you kept your Orphius, you simple need to fuse Omoikane + Orphius. But if you used Orphius already, you will need to get another Nekomata and fuse Omoikane + Nekomata. Either of those will give you Yomatsu Shikomo.

' src=

January 25, 2023 at 6:44 pm

Same here. The guide should put in the ideal time to get the Hermit persona early on. I created a Hermit persona the day before and the bonus wasn’t enough to get another rank. Meaning the bonus must be cumulative from earlier social link dialogue.

Sun is only available on Sundays at shrine during the day Judgement ranks up automatically if you make certain choices as part of story

January 26, 2023 at 9:08 am

Guide doesn’t clearly state what personas you’ll need to help boost the social links. It mentions Chariot and Hiero. But none of the others. On 5/25, an even was supposed to occur with the Hermit social link, but I got nothing. The guide also doesn’t explain how much money you’ll need in order to actually do everything it describes. I was managing all of the 3k arcade visits, but eventually ran out of money right before I’m supposed to give 20k to someone on 5/30. Only on 5/31 does the guide suggest having 50k before moving forward.

I’m likely going to have start over and find another guide elsewhere, because social link inconsistencies are a pain to work with.

January 27, 2023 at 10:48 am

Yeah don’t have enough for 20k as well, should’ve put in the guide how much money the player should make during the first Tartarus visit.

' src=

January 28, 2023 at 7:56 am

this is the issue i just ran into. restarted once already when i missed something very needed (when the guide mentioned grabbing the pine nectar from yukari but doesnt mention to grab the quest and i missed the dialogue from elizabeth). just going to put the game on hold until a proper detailed guide is out since this one needs too much work atm.

January 26, 2023 at 6:10 pm

So in July you go to Tower a lot. Are we or aren’t we suppose to have a Tower persona or not? Asking to see if we have to grind to level 31 in Tartarus on July 5th…

January 27, 2023 at 12:09 am

Ok I just went through and got the tower card on that day. It is not needed. The extra times you visit Tower make up for the lack of the card.

' src=

January 27, 2023 at 12:27 am

How do I get the beetle shell if I can’t accept the quest until 4/30? The beetles only drop the shell once I accept the quest and there’s no other time for me to go to Tartarus before the deadline, so I can’t automatically complete it.

' src=

January 30, 2023 at 9:21 am

bro imhaving the same problem so i was stuck when the guide said that 1 and 2 quest will automatically be completed… bruh moment right there

' src=

January 27, 2023 at 7:05 am

Thanks for the guide it’s helped me quite a bit though I had to reroute 7/29 and 8/1 to visit monk instead of the quiz since I was too low level for the tower personas.

January 27, 2023 at 8:55 am

8/30 You will get Sun (Dying Young Man) Social Link Rank 2.

This should be rank 3.

' src=

January 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm

Hey mate any news on the rest of the guide? I’ve followed up to sept. where your detailed guide ends and the old one begins, but they don’t match up as is stated to do Priestess 7 when I’m only rank 2. Cheers though, very helpful

' src=

January 27, 2023 at 7:52 pm

I was following for awhile but some of the social links you would get a rank for and I wouldn’t even with using a persona for that link, but it was alright. Like someone mentioned above, there is plenty of free time towards the end like with all persona games.

' src=

January 29, 2023 at 11:00 am

On 2 May the guide says we will automatically complete Request 1 since we had visited the tower. However I does not have the required item . Only Request 2 is “automatically” done. And the guide does not spare a second visit before the deadline (7 May) and it will be missed. Will it lead to a missed trophy? Please consider revisiting the relevant part. Thank you.

January 29, 2023 at 11:10 am

Apology – a minor update. I mean there is a second visit to Tartarus on 4 May, but at this point of time players just have around 1600 dollar. We need to sell a lot of things at police station to afford the two Game Parade sessions on 2 May and 4 May. Please see if a checklist about the items and money needed before leaving 16/F of Tartarus?

January 30, 2023 at 9:28 am

yeah im having the same problem im stuck since i searched for a workaround and it said that i have to accept the quest first before grave beetle drop beetle shells.. so at this moment on i was stuck and didnt know what to do afterwards since i also want to 100% finish this game

' src=

January 30, 2023 at 5:15 pm

On 5/31 it says to turn in Quest 75/76, but one of those quests require you to get an item from someone on 5/26, which the guide doesn’t mention at all to do on 5/26. Also, even with a Hermit persona, I didn’t get the 5/24 Rank 5 upgrade.

Thankfully, I keep periodic backup saves. It sucks that my last backup is 5/4 and I’ve gotten in 10 hrs+ progress since then. I’ll be looking for another guide.

Thankfully I had a lot of money after my first Tartarus visit from another guide I was following, but it also had other inconsistencies.

January 30, 2023 at 5:27 pm

I wrote at at 5/14 and 5/26 to talk to the respective people on the evening to get the quest items. You may have missed it.

As for the Hermit Rank 5 Upgrade. Did you had a Hermit Persona on the previous Rank upgrades with you?

January 30, 2023 at 10:12 pm

Fuuka doesn’t go 9 -> 10 in the last two days, meaning not everyone maxes out..

January 31, 2023 at 1:16 pm

It did for me on the last day. But I’ll adjust the guide in the near future so you will have some extra time at the end.

' src=

February 2, 2023 at 9:47 pm

Yeah same even after going back to the days to do whatever 😔

February 3, 2023 at 2:13 am

Edit: made adjust after finishing game. On 1-16, hung out with fuuka instead of augis to start her s-link 10 progression. Got it done then.

January 31, 2023 at 10:22 am

7/30: did not get a Monk/Tower social limk prompt. Guide suggested reaching 25 on previous dungeon visit, but I’m guessing they were 31 and had a Tower persona.

January 31, 2023 at 10:30 am

Yeah, author definitely had a Tower persona. They got 3 straight prompts from Monk. I sacrificed the Quiz Game night on 8/1 to visit Monk again, and it’s a slower progress.

January 31, 2023 at 1:17 pm

I had indeed. I spent too much time with the game, so I expect everyone to magically to the same as me. I’ll adjust the guide in the near future.

' src=

February 5, 2023 at 4:51 pm

I think best will be on 7/24 F go to shrine and select monk – this will help with progress at cost of Kenji but he is Magical arcana so should be easier to max

February 5, 2023 at 8:46 pm

I reconsidered this as Daytime/Afternoons are stuffed and there is no some space, but there is some on Evenings in late game. So i have redone the section, but also done more Devil links to make it faster as persona is available much earlier than Tower – do i need Academic maxed ASAP for something, as exams are done?

January 31, 2023 at 3:02 pm

7/30 Tower cannot unlock to the next rank. I also i’ve been quite behind in Chihiro and Maya social link following this guide.

' src=

February 1, 2023 at 6:40 pm

I am 2 visits behind on the monk and 1 visit behind on Maya. Also, one night it said to do quiz game and it wasn’t available. I am 21hr+ into the playthrough with this guide, unfortunately. :'(

February 2, 2023 at 1:20 am

Not sure what you may have missed. I played through the game multiple times now and it always worked out for me apart from the first time i played the game (but i messed it up somewhere else).

' src=

February 3, 2023 at 7:57 pm

I followed the guide 100%, but I couldn’t maximize all the social links. This was useless.

' src=

February 5, 2023 at 12:05 am

Too many complainers in these comments. Great guide HardyBoy, can see it was a lot of work and it’s appreciated.

' src=

February 11, 2023 at 6:38 pm

Except it’s not a great guide. It’s riddled with mistakes that these “complaints” are pointing out. They heavily affect your playthrough and may require reloading a much earlier save that you may not even have. Grow up.

February 5, 2023 at 5:39 am

Will you be making a Female guide?

February 5, 2023 at 5:50 am

Do you need to grind to Level 31 on 5/31 in order to get a Tower persona for the end of June if so HOW!!!! How do you get to Level 31 in BLock 2. I got to Floor 40 not skipping a single battle and always getting the cane and I am only level 18. 31 grind would be like 10 hours and that is rediculus.

' src=

February 5, 2023 at 1:24 pm

When will the female character S link guide come out? Could it be a few months? a few weeks? a few days?

' src=

February 7, 2023 at 12:27 am

GameFAQs for female is fine, no issues on that area, it’s just the male stuff that takes a while to work out.

' src=

February 5, 2023 at 5:01 pm

Seeing the comments make me worried for the rest of the game but i’m just at the beginning on 24/4, as i can’t get any chariot or hierophant persona to drop from the monsters in the shuffle in tartarus. Only got 3 possibilities: Aspara (priestess), Pixie (lovers) and Angel (juste)

February 5, 2023 at 11:42 pm

Well, got 3 new (Nekomata, Alps and Ari Mitama) on the same floor, just missing hierophant. Does difficulty changes the shuffle reward? I tried beginner, easy and normal on three runs of all 15 floors and don’t see a difference. Good thing is i’m stacked on level (MC is 15) and cash (60000) and i still havent sold all my items

February 6, 2023 at 6:43 pm

You can fuse them to make others with the velvet room. Ara Mitama in paticular canbe made at Level 6 and required fusing Pixie with Angle.

' src=

February 7, 2023 at 4:16 am

I’ll chime in with agreement on not being able to max out all the social links. In my case, I needed an extra day for Fuuka, apparently. I was able to max out everyone else, albeit at least a day or two delayed from several characters including Monk, Dying Man, and Mitsuru. I made sure to have Persona cards for each whenever doing bonding events too, so a bit frustrating… especially since I foolishly was only giving myself a few days back worth of saves to reload. I am a bit bummed, since I’ll have to spend a lot more time on a second playthrough.

Anyway, this guide isn’t bad… just needs some tweaks, I think.

' src=

February 7, 2023 at 8:11 am

Just a warning. Followed this guide but was 1 rank short to max Fuuka’s S. Link. Aegis has an additional no rank up day before the max level and that’s what messed this up.

February 7, 2023 at 6:35 pm

The trophy popped for maxing social links after I reloaded a save I did not overwrite around Dec 23 (before the visit to Tartatus). I made sure to have Fuuka’s social link be at level 9 by then since the points don’t stack and you need to have 55 points to rank from 9-10. I had two days to spare when I maxed out everything. Trophy popped when I maxed the Judgment social link when I went to Tartarus and reached Floor 254 on the 29th of January.

' src=

June 1, 2023 at 2:05 am

I just ran into the same thing, I just made sure to do Fuuka on the 16th, to be able to get a date in on the Sunday, gave a Glass Vase, and picked up Aegis on the Monday, just one step behind. Still got her to max on the 28th to be able to fuse Metatron and get her best weapon.

' src=

February 7, 2023 at 7:44 pm

Guide worked fine. only issue I saw was 11/22, still need to encourage Junpei that day. regarding the Tower SL, you have enough time that you can max it without using a persona at all.

Also not sure if its still bugged but i was able to get the Social Butterfly trophy following this guide.

' src=

February 11, 2023 at 5:05 pm

Wish I would have read the comments before following this. like where tf am i supposed to get all of the money they want me have? “btw give this dude 20k” I would have grinded if I knew; almost every guide for any game tells you ‘make sure you have x amount of money”

February 11, 2023 at 5:18 pm

6/26 is Horror House not Quiz Game. Thanks for the guide!

' src=

February 12, 2023 at 9:41 am

It seems the guide is flawed, as I’m sure others have pointed out. Like things being posted on wrong days, and assuming the player has knowledge of most things. An example being, of certain items and when and where to get them. Or having a certain persona to get max social link points when it is not possible to get said persona at the time. Among other things.

Made it seem like it was meant to be used as a guide if you had played the game already. Perhaps a bit due to copying and pasting, referencing to an older or different version of the game.

Definitely not a guide that works if you follow everything to the letter. Even with working and planning on my own I missed out on maxing one social link. So even with getting everything else it was a disappointment.

' src=

February 13, 2023 at 5:40 am

I choose some bad answers on some social links and can’t go back without losing so much progress. But now I am behind schedule and by the looks of it. This guide has to be perfect or you start a new playthrough. Is there still time or do I have to start from the beginning, some examples of getting certain items from characters do not spawn: like for example Akihiko is suppose to give in item on 6/16 or something. You go to that day and nothing happens.

' src=

February 20, 2023 at 8:48 pm

there are some days where you’re given free time… idk how much that will help you but yeah…

' src=

February 26, 2023 at 10:43 pm

Nice guide, I finished the trophy social butterfly on 1/27 following this guide and making my own decitions in some days. Thank you.

' src=

March 6, 2023 at 4:34 am

Are you able to do Social Links on 1/11, since it’s a free day? I missed a social link event and I want to make it up on a free day. I don’t know if I should keep playing until January to fix my mistake or just start over.

' src=

March 13, 2023 at 4:34 am

You should probably make mention of the fact you need to say “Go out with me” to Chihiro on the second interaction. I restarted once already and am now missing the Justice social link because apparently you need to say that before she’ll start her social link with you.

March 13, 2023 at 2:09 pm

You should probably also make a note of how much money you need for long stretches between Tartarus visits. I’ve just about reached the end of May, and I’m out of money because I didn’t have enough. Resummoning Personas dug into this a bunch too, because there was no indication of “you will need these arcana for the following stretch”.

' src=

March 16, 2023 at 11:09 pm

Are we ever getting an update to this guide or a female one? There are other sites that have guides, maybe it’s just me but they seem to overcomplicate things. I really like the layout of this guide but want to be able to 100% with it.

' src=

April 1, 2023 at 1:43 am

Hey, is it going to mess anything up if Chihiro doesn’t rank up on 6/4 for me? I haven’t encountered a treasurer persona yet so I couldn’t have gotten the bonus for dialog but I’ve followed everything else.

' src=

April 12, 2023 at 6:18 pm

Same thing happened to me on a First-ish playthrough (Had to go back as I did not turn in one of the tasks).

' src=

April 13, 2023 at 7:20 am

Just hit 9/28 and on 9/27, Mamoru didn’t hit rank 4 even though i brought a star persona for this event. Am I screwed or can I still salvage it? (All my other links are on schedule, I just don’t know how much free time I’ll have for links by the end)

' src=

November 2, 2023 at 2:30 am

Thanks a lot for your guide, just got the trophy Social Butterfly. If someone is following, attention: there is no free time at the end of the game, you need to be careful to correct any possible errors during gameplay and be synchronized with the guide in the last 2 months. In January, despite being with the guide, I arrived on the 31st with one level left with Fuuka to complete all SL. I had to go back twice to 01/16 and rearrange the schedule, making her call me for a date on a sunday. After a few tries, I finished all SL in 01/28!

Persona 3 Portable Social Link Guide: Full S-Link Walkthroughs & Dialogue Options

Social Links  are a vital part of the slice-of-life gameplay in  Persona 3 Portable . While you'll be spending a lot of time taking on dark forces and demons, an equally huge part of the adventure is school life, making friends, and forging close bonds - known in this game as social links. As well as opening up more story, each S-Link also carries gameplay and battle bonuses for progressing them.

Keeping track of all of the social links can be difficult, which is where this comprehensive  Persona 3 Social Link guide  comes in to play. Consider this guide a hub - but on the pages linked out from here, you'll be able to find out  how to start each S-Link , which belong to  romanceable characters , and  how to rank each link up fast , as in Persona time on the in-game calendar is precious.

  • S-Link System Primer
  • Romanceable Characters
  • Social Links List & Guides
This guide and its connected pages will contain minor spoilers for the identities of Persona 3 Portable social links - but it's also designed to be used as you play, and so it's extremely spoiler-light and safe to use. We recommend you not scroll any specific S-Link guide past the rank you're currently on, however.

Persona 3 Portable Social Link guide: S-Link System Primer

Our full Persona 3 Portable social link guide will help you to max out every S-Link with every friend in the most efficient way possible.

What you likely want is the S-Link guides for each individual character. And don't worry, they're below. But first, we want to make some things about the social link system in Persona 3 - and our guides - clearer:

  • Social Links all start in slightly different ways . Some are automatic as you progress Persona 3's story. Some need to be sought out and initiated. Some have triggers that must be tripped elsewhere in the game before they become available. Each guide explains how that S-Link is unlocked - so if you're missing one, just check the page of the link in question.
  • S-Links differ depending on your protagonist . While they have many shared S-Links, there are a good number that are exclusive to either the male or female protagonists of Persona 3 Portable. All are listed on this guide. Shared S-Links may have different dialogue and scenes between the two lead characters - and we list the options for both in those guides.
  • Dialogue Options matter (sometimes) . The fastest way to level up an S-Link quicker than the default speed is by saying things the character you're spending time with likes. That's primarily what our guide does - it tells you what to say to each S-Link to hit max rank sooner.
  • The Arcana Bonus Matters . Persona 3's Arcana Bonus is achieved by having a Persona of the same Arcana as the S-Link in your party. Yukari is the 'Lovers' Arcana S-Link, for instance - so every time you spend time with Yukari, you should have a Lovers Persona with you. This will speed up the S-Link rank up process. You can switch out Persona in the Velvet Room.
  • S-Links are available at different times . Every character has their own schedule, so you'll only be able to spend time with your social links when they're actually available. We list broad availability and location details on each link's individual walkthrough.
  • Rewards are more sparse in Persona 3 . If you're used to later Persona games, S-Link ranks come with more rewards, including combat and battle unlocks. These are absent in Persona 3, and it's by design - but S-Links are worth ranking for other reasons.

Romance Options & S-Links

To be entirely honest, the  Romance Options  and Romanceable character sub-plots in Persona 3 Portable are nowhere near as fleshed out as in later Persona games. With that said, there are a few options.

  • In fact, all of these characters automatically progress to a romantic relationship as you rank them up - meaning if you rank 10 them all, you'll, er, be dating them all. At once.
  • There is no punishment in Persona 3 Portable for going 'harem mode' in this way, for whatever reason - while vanilla Persona 3 had that feature, it was stripped out for P3P.
  • Unlike the male lead's romance options, there is an option to stay platonic friends with these characters instead - our guides cover the points where this is defined.
  • There's no Social Link or Romance with Elizabeth or Theodore from the Velvet Room - but there are 'dates' with them accessed by completing their Requests .

As well as welcoming you back to the dorm every night, Mitsuru is sort of the glue that holds the SEES squad together, and a particular fan-favorite of the Persona 3 crew. For the male lead she's also a romance option, while the female protagonist can enjoy a close friendship if you rank up her S-Link, which our guide will help you to do.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Akihiko Sanada social link guide (Star, Female MC)

Akihiko might seem overly serious, but the female protagonist of Persona 3 Portable can fire up his S-Link and discover a softer side - and, if you so wish, push for a romantic relationship. This is the rare link in Persona 3 that it's possible to accidentally break - but our guide will ensure you avoid that.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Fuuka Yamagishi social link guide (Priestess)

When you're in Tartarus, Fuuka will act as your navigator - and with our guide, we'll happily be your navigator for her S-Link relationship, which can be undertaken by both leads to get a greater read on the make-up of your team. For the male MC, she can be romanced, too.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Aigis social link guide (Aeon)

The Aigis social link wasn't actually in the original version of Persona 3, leaving her as a surprisingly distant character despite her importance. That's been remedied in Persona 3 Portable, where she now has a full social link sub-plot that can also turn romantic.

/feature/13683-persona-3-portable-koromaru-strength-social-link-choices-guide

Koromaru social link guide (Strength, Female MC)

Exclusive to the female lead of Persona 3 Portable, you can actually have a social link... with a dog. Persona 3 was ahead of the curve, making this a feature way before 'can you pet the dog' accounts appeared all over social media.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Ken Amada social link guide (Justice, Female MC)

The Ken Amada S-Link was always something of a controversial one when it was added to Persona 3 Portable for the new female lead, since it allows you to start quite an intimate relationship with a very young character. Cute or creepy? You decide as you advance the link rank with our dialogue choices!

persona 3 portable summer homework

Shinjiro Aragaki social link (Moon, Female MC)

Shinjiro didn't have a social link in base Persona 3, but they added an exclusive one for the female protagonist. This link is unique in that it can, in a small way, influence some of the events in Persona 3's broader story - but only if you rank it up before a certain time. Our guide explains all.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Kenji Tomochika social link guide (Magician, Male MC)

Keiji spends a lot of his time obsessing over older women and how he has a crush on his teacher, but there's more to him than that... but not that much more, honestly. Our guide will help you to know what to say to make him happy and hit top S-Link rank.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Hidetoshi Odagiri social link guide (Emperor)

Hidetoshi might seem like an uptight square at first, the worst kind of person to be friends with at school, but there's more to him than meets the eye. Our dialogue options guide will help you to keep on his good side and max out the Emperor S-Link.

/feature/13696-persona-3-portable-bunkichi-mitsuko-hierophant-social-link-choices-unlock-guide

Bunkichi & Mitsuko social link guide (Hierophant)

The only social link in Persona 3 Portable that involves two characters in one link, both versions of the lead character can visit and get to know this elderly couple in one of the many stores found in the game. You'll need to do something very specific to fuse this friendship though, which our guide explains.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Kazushi Miyamoto social link guide (Chariot, Male MC)

The male protagonist's sporting club friend, Kazushi also has some sport-related problems that are pretty brutal - and you can help him to tackle them. Our S-Link guide has all the right dialogue choices to push Kazushi in the right direction, and hit max rank as quickly as possible.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Rio Iwasaki social link guide (Chariot, Female MC)

If you've played the  next  Persona game, you might vaguely recognize Rio, as she actually crops up during that game's story for a brief cameo. Even if not, though, this sporty student can be a strong friend to the female protagonist, and is kicked off when you join the Tennis or Volleyball club. After that - we've got the conversation options for you, to make it easy.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Chihiro Fushimi social link guide (Justice, Male MC)

A quiet and bookish type, Chihiro works for the student council, which is where you'll first encounter and meet her. Exclusive to the male lead, she's also a romance option if you so choose. She represents the Justice Arcana, making for a strong case for ranking up for Persona fusion.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Maya social link guide (Hermit, Male MC)

A very unique social link in the Persona series in general, the social link with 'Maya' features an online relationship conducted through an MMORPG on the verge of death. Can true friendship bloom online? And just who is  Maya? Our s-link choices guide will help you to find out.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Saori Hasegawa social link guide (Hermit, Female MC)

Despite being one of the older students of Gekkoukan High, Saori has a hard time of things, and players will be end up meeting her and having the option to help her out after joining a school committee. She's the female lead's Hermit arcana representative.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Keisuke Hiraga social link guide (Fortune, Male MC)

A classic story of struggling with parental expectation, the Keisuke S-Link will see the male protagonist help this school friend navigate a tricky family situation - and if you hit max rank, you might just change his life. We have all the dialogue options to do it fast.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Ryoji Mochizuki social link guide (Fortune, Female MC)

Ryoji has a major role to play in Persona 3 regardless of which protagonist you are, but if you're playing as the female MC, you'll have an opportunity to get to know and rank up a social link. If you can get it to max rank quick enough, it can be very enlightening. This guide will help you to not make a mistake that could lead to a bad ending.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Yuko Nishiwaki social link guide (Strength, Male MC)

Another sports friend, albeit of the management kind, Yuko is a major character and a romance option for the male lead character of Persona 3. Meeting her is  almost  but not quite compulsory, but our guide will make sure you don't accidentally miss out on her, then help you to max out her Strength S-Link.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Maiko Oohashi social link guide (Hanged Man)

Maiko is younger than most social links, but it's an opportunity to help a struggling young person, and net some Hanged Man Persona fusion bonuses while you're at it. Our guide lists all the best dialogue options to rank her S-Link up efficiently.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Bebe social link guide (Temperance)

The story of Andre Laurent Jean 'Bebe' Geraux is a stand-out, largely because Bebe is a foreign exchange student in Japan for a limited time. This is an easily-missed social link, but our guide will help you to start and max out the link fast.

persona 3 portable summer homework

President Tanaka social link guide (Devil)

Tanaka is the rare social link character that also puts in an appearance in another non-spin off Persona game - players of the fourth entry in the series might recognize him. This is an easily-missed S-Link - but our guide will make sure you start it and then max it efficiently.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Mutatsu social link guide (Tower)

If you've ever wanted a hard-drinking, cigar-chomping Bhuddist Monk for a pal, then Persona 3 Portable has you covered - and you'll want to get to know Mutatsu. Starting his S-Link is a little obtuse, but our guide will make sure you don't miss him.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Mamoru Hayase social link guide (Star, Male MC)

You'll need courage to strike up a conversation and relationship with Mamoru, but once you do it'll be worthwhile, with an interesting storyline that's worth experiencing. Our guide will help you to start and advance the link.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Nozomi Suemitsu social link guide (Moon, Male MC)

Known as 'The Gourmet King', Nozomi is honestly one of the weaker social links not just in Persona 3, but across the whole series. You might want those sweet Moon Persona fusion bonuses, however - and we can help you to get them while minimizing time spent on this fairly tedious plot.

persona 3 portable summer homework

Akinari Kamiki social link guide (Sun)

One of the most memorable social links not just in Persona 3 but in the series at large, while not compulsory in many ways it could be argued that the Akinari S-Link ties more closely into Persona 3's overarching themes than any other. Our S-Link guide will help you get to know him before it's too late.
