How to Answer: What Was Your Favorite Class in College?

Here are some tips to help you nail this answer.

Pick a class that was meaningful.

Before your interview, think about all the classes you’ve taken and focus on the ones that had the biggest impact on you. What do they have in common? Did they teach you a new skill or make you think about your life in a different way? Once you’ve narrowed down the list to a few classes, focus on the one that was most meaningful to you. For example, if you took a class that helped you overcome a huge personal or professional hurdle, be sure to mention that.

Say something like: “My favorite class was my sophomore year French class. I’ve always loved French and was able to read and write it well, but I struggled to carry on a conversation.”

Explain what you learned and what skills you picked up.

Once you’ve identified your favorite class, go into detail about why it was important to you. Did you learn something you’d been wanting to learn for a long time? Did it challenge you in a specific way? Talk about the skills you picked up and show the quantifiable impact of those skills.

Say something like: “Because this class focused a lot on developing conversation skills, I was able to get past that hurdle and now I can easily hold a conversation in French.”

Talk about whether you liked the professor and why.

The key to coming up with a thoughtful answer is to make it a detailed one. So in addition to quantifying the impact of the class itself, you can talk about the professor’s teaching style and whether they did anything specific to making learning easier and more fun.

Say something like: “I liked that the professor made the class fun and came up with activities that challenged us to expand our vocabularies and learn the language quickly.”

Show how this experience has shaped you.

Once you’ve outlined your reasons for picking this class, wrap up your answer by explaining how the experience has shaped you. If possible, be sure to also quantify its impact by showing how it led to an even bigger learning.

Say something like: “As a whole, the experience made me realize that things seem a lot less overwhelming once you actually dive in and that’s something that I plan to keep in mind as I start my professional life.”

Here’s how to bring it all together:

“My favorite class was my sophomore year French class. I’ve always loved French and was able to read and write it well, but I struggled to carry on a conversation. Because this class focused a lot on developing conversation skills, I was able to get past that hurdle and now I can easily hold a conversation in French. I liked that the professor made the class fun and came up with activities that challenged us to expand our vocabularies and learn the language quickly. As a whole, the experience made me realize that things seem a lot less overwhelming once you actually dive in and that’s something that I plan to keep in mind as I start my professional life.”

By giving a thoughtful and detailed answer, you’ll be sure to impress the interviewer and get one step closer to landing your dream job.

What Makes a Class Memorable? Here’s What Students Say

essay about favorite class

  • Share article

The new question of the week—directed toward students—is:

What has been your best experience in the classroom, and what action or actions did a teacher take to help you make it happen (if they did)? Please be specific. What can other teachers learn from this experience?

I’ve previously shared responses to a similar question at Students Share Their Best School Experiences and What We Can Learn From Them .

I think those answers—and the ones appearing in this post—are so insightful that I’ve decided to make this a “recurring” question.

If you’re a K-12 teacher, and would like to have your students write 200-400 word responses to this questions, send the best ones to me at [email protected] (along with an email or a copy of one from the parent/guardian saying, “I give permission for my child’s essay to be published in Education Week”). If we agree they are publication-worthy, I’ll be happy to use them. I’ll accept contributions anytime over the next 12 months.

By the way, you can see many previous contributions from students that have appeared here at Student Voices .

Several of my students have written today’s responses:

‘Care About Us as People’

Julianna Eakle is a junior at Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, Calif.:

My best classroom experience was when I was in 11th grade. I was having some tough times in my personal life, and this teacher helped me through it all. During this time, my brother, who had previously gone to the school, had to move due to these problems, and I had a really hard time adjusting to him not being at home as well as at school. He had asked this teacher to promise to always look out for me and always check up on me.

This promise was made when I was in 10th grade, and this teacher has never failed to fulfill it. It was a great experience for me because this teacher is close to my brother and I, and he knew how much I missed him. Even out of the classroom, on the track, he would always tell me something my brother had told him, and it would make me sad, yet determined.

My teacher helped make it a great experience, because still to this day whether I look down or not, he always makes sure I’m OK.

Teachers can learn from this story that it’s important for us students to feel that you care about us as people.

‘He Listened to My Rants’

Vincent Xiong is a junior at Luther Burbank High School:

The best experience in my education career is back in freshman year. The reason why it was fun was because we had to sing in class but in Hmong. The song could have been a Hmong or a translated Hmong song. This helped me because it helped me gain more confidence and I am kind of into singing now but my voice is bad and raspy.

This teacher also helped me talk about my feelings to him one on one without any judgment, and he listened to my rants when I needed someone to talk to. It wasn’t like he would just be like, “OK, mhm, OK, I see,” he would listen and actually give more insight on the problem I am having.

Teachers can learn from this that it’s important to create fun opportunities in class and to listen to us.

‘Believe in Your Students’

Anniyah Rhone is a junior at Luther Burbank High School:

My best classroom memory would have to be when I was in the 8th grade and we had our 8th grade award ceremony where they would award students academic achievements. I remember I sat in the back row with my friends, and one of my favorite teachers, Ms. Carr, convinced me to dress up for this particular event.

I had received an award for the honor roll and for another one of my classes, but at the end of the ceremony, the principal gave out the principal’s award to a boy and a girl from the 8th grade class. She began to talk about how the student was very good in all of their classes and how she was very caring and helpful to the people around campus. “How did she do all of these wonderful things?” I vividly remember asking myself.

Lo and behold, she was talking about me, and I received that award with one of my oldest friends. I chose this moment because it was the first time that I realized that I make a difference in people’s lives and that I am worth something. I have always had a hard time believing that I would be somebody or that people would notice me for the work I put in and not the jokes that I tell. This was the first time that people saw me as Anniyah and not Shamira’s little sister. This was the first time that I started believing in myself.

Ms. Carr made the experience better because she came up to me and she told me that she was proud of me and that she always knew that I would achieve great things and that it was just a matter of time before everyone else saw that. This is the experience that started my journey to loving myself.

Teachers can learn from this that it’s important to believe in your students and what they are capable of doing and to let them know that.

‘We Sometimes Communicated in Spanish’

Vanessa Pedraza Ruiz is a junior at Luther Burbank High School:

My best experience in a classroom was when I was a 3rd grader. It was the first couple of weeks of school, and I knew absolutely nobody. I had just moved into the area from 30 minutes away. My social skills at the time weren’t the best as I was an only child at the time. I was very timid and not the most talkative person at that age. Keep in mind that I was part of the small number of Hispanic children in my classroom.

Everyone in my class seemed to know each other very well. Then there was me, usually isolated from everyone because I didn’t know anyone. At first, my 3rd grade year seemed to not start off greatly, but then a student-teacher, Ms. Perez, was introduced to the class. By the last name, I knew she was Hispanic.

At first, I did not really talk to her, but I built up the courage to actually introduce myself to her. She was very nice and she started a conversation with me. We sometimes communicated in Spanish. I surprisingly felt comfortable talking to her. Because I felt comfortable being around her, I often participated in class discussions and in activities. She eventually helped me become more social around everyone, and I eventually started making a couple of new friends. Long story short, my 3rd grade student-teacher helped me have a great experience in her classroom.

Educators can learn from this experience that having teachers who “look like” their students can help us.

He Was ‘Teaching Us History With His Stories’

Joanna Medrano-Gutierrez is a junior at Luther Burbank High School:

My best classroom experience happened when I was in 6th grade. I remember it had been a really hot day, almost at the end of the school year. By this time, my teacher obviously knew what a loud and disruptive class we were, and he had adapted perfectly. Many of the boys in my class always tried to get him distracted to try and waste class time by getting him to talk about his life, and I guess he caught on to this fact pretty quickly.

We had just come back from lunch, so all of us children were sweaty and very much whining about the heat, and so, we were in no mood for learning history. So, that day a boy decided that we needed to get our teacher to waste time with one of his stories. My teacher played along and started to tell us about how when he was younger, just a bit older than we were at the time, he was in a play that ended horribly. I don’t quite remember what he said, all I remember is what happened a few days later.

It was now Friday, later that week, the class had fully expected that since we hardly learned anything that week, we weren’t going to have our usual biweekly quiz. We were so wrong. I could only stare at the stack of papers, and he passed out the quizzes. What are we supposed to do? We barely learned anything this week. Those were my thoughts. Our teacher explained that we could do it, we HAD to do it. So, we all started the test. We got through the math and science part pretty easily. But I was really surprised to find out that I could answer all of the history questions. My teacher had been teaching us history with his stories that we thought were wasting time! Most of my classmates and I had a good laugh along with our teacher. We all knew we deserved it, but, hey, most of the class passed that quiz.

Educators can learn from this story that sometimes you have to be very creative to help us learn what you want to teach us.

‘Support Us’

Kayla Chang is a junior at Luther Burbank High School:

My best experience in a classroom was when I was in 7th to 8th grade (both years). Band class was my favorite class of the day because my other classes were boring. It was a great experience because I learned how to play an instrument and it made me learn a whole different language (music language). It was an amazing experience because it made me get out of my comfort zone and perform some short songs solo during class (for practice), and I actually went to a music festival called Golden Empire where I performed in front of a judge and actually got a medal for it.

My teacher helped make it great because she was really friendly and lenient on homework, which was to practice your instrument for a certain amount of time. She was really supportive and never forced people to play their instrument if they weren’t feeling OK.

One thing teachers can learn from this is that if you want students to move from their “comfort zone,” it’s important to support us, focus on the important stuff, and be flexible on what’s not that important. And pay attention to when we are not emotionally ready to learn.

Tough Interview Question - What were your favorite classes? Why?

What were your favorite classes? Why?

Similar interview questions: What classes did you benefit from the most while in college? Which courses best prepared you for your career? Were there any courses in which you excelled? What training has been most beneficial to you in your career?

Why the interviewer is asking this question: The interviewer is looking for the relevance of your coursework, gauged by your interest level, in relation to the job for which you are interviewing. The question is also an indicator of your willingness to continue learning throughout your career. This question is often asked when internship candidates and/or entry level candidates have little in the way of relevant experience.

The best approach to answering this question: Pick a class that is most directly tied to your chosen career. Ideally, it should be a class where you earned an A grade. The exception could be that super tough class where no one received an A, but you were one of the few to earn a B. Talk about what it was in the class that helped you to prepare for the world of work. Be ready with a second and a third class to discuss if the interviewer would like more examples.

An example of how to best answer this question for experienced candidates: "Most of the classes in my major were my favorite classes in college. That said, the capstone class in my major my final year of college was definitely my favorite class. It was taught by the Department Chair and she really brought together theory with practical application in my future work. For example, one of the extra credit assignments was to take and pass the first part of the industry certification exam. I did that and it got me started toward my certification early in my career…"

An example of how to best answer this question for entry level candidates: "The classes in my major were my favorites and got progressively more interesting each year. My favorite class is one that I just completed and ties in directly with the needs for this job. I excelled in that class and even received a letter of recommendation from my professor in that class. Would you like to see it?…"

An example of how you should not answer this question: "Sometimes when you ask grade school kids about their favorite class, they say recess. Well, for me, that’s not far off. For me it was my PE classes in college. I had a choice of taking more classes in my major to use up my elective credits, but decided to use them for PE classes instead. I love getting a good workout and by taking more PE classes, I got a workout and also got credit for it at the same time…"

My Favorite Class On Fall 2014 Essay Samples

During college and university periods, students take different classes in which they learn and acquire more knowledge about many important things. For my third semester at Valencia College which was in the fall of 2014, I have chosen a class without knowing how interesting it would be for me. Every professor around the world has different ways for teaching many things. My class Introduction to Humanity with doctor Jeffery Donley has been the best class that I have ever taken. During the entire semester, I have learned a lot about different cultural and historical significances but the most important for me were Cleopatra story and the performing arts of the greatest singers. Professor Donley is one of those professors who engage with students with his method of teaching. There are many reasons why I enjoyed and learned with doctor Jeffery Donley, the Cleopatra story, and the performing of greatest singers. First, Doctor Donley knows how to tell a story which makes the learning process easier. Doctor Donley has a particular method of telling that made me understand every story he told in each class. His way of teaching is fascinating. For instance, he relates the story as if he had lived when the story took place. As many people know, Cleopatra was of Greek origin known by the prefix of Super woman of power. Many people think that Cleopatra was Egyptian because her father Ptolemy XII was a pharaoh who ruled Egypt after Alexander the Great's death during the Hellenistic period. Cleopatra was born 69 BC. She became a new pharaoh of Egypt after her father's death when she was eighteen years old, and she named Julius Caesar’s son Caesarion (Ptolemy XV). Doctor Donley told her story as if he was a family member of Ptolemaic dynasty or a close friend of Cleopatra. When he said that: “Cleopatra was not as beautiful as Hollywood pretend the audience to think or that she was beautiful but not that much as she was a smart woman who knew nine languages and a very sensual women that had a great personality and a beautiful voice,” he made me believe and I got into the story as if I had known her well too. His method of explaining the story with his knowledge and without the usage of books makes him a great teacher because for a foreign student as I am, it is much easier to understand words in a form of telling it as a story than to understand words in the narrative of a history book. Moreover, the performing arts of greatest singers was a stupendous unit in which doctor Donley showed different musical genres and taught the students how to analyze with the elements of the greatest singers such as legato line, effortless, passagio, vibrato, etc. For instance, there were various performances of Andrea Bocelli who is my favorite opera singer where I learned how perfect vibrato, legato line, effortless, and timbre are. Nowadays, when I listen to any song, I think about these elements and consider it important to know who greatest singers are. Second, sufficient knowledge engages more concentration on any topic. If the professor is well prepared for explanation of a topic, then it is much easier for the students to learn. Additionally, the advice to be well prepared for every class is important for the general understanding of the material presented at class. Doctor Donley's knowledge makes it clear on how important is a good preparation before explaining or talking about something. For example, holding a class without a hand note or a book reveals how smart he is. In other words, he holds a lecture without the use of books or hand notes. When he explained the story of Cleopatra he mentioned every detail including significant dates and names. Enough knowledge made me understand the real story told by a sage of his profession. Cleopatra's story is very important and it is considered to be a part of our general knowledge because it has a historical significance. In this way, my new knowledge about the story is very important for me because now I now know many things that I did not read before and have not been told. Apart from the stated reasons, watching and knowing different performances of greatest artist made me learn about the most important artists in the world that I have never heard about. For instance, I did not know the great quality singers exist such as Judy Garland, Sissel, Sarah Brightman, Marilyn McCoo, and many others. Now, I enjoy in the magnificent voices of those greatest singers who are big stars. Third and the last reason for enjoying this class is the professor's attitude towards explaining important things which arouse interest in students to know more about them. I think that the attitude reflects and describes everything about a person. Doctor Donley has always been a neutral person that brings enthusiasm for learning important culturally-historical topics that are significant. The way he describes every story or a topic with a movement or with acting a scene makes it much easier for a student to understand a story. Cleopatra's story and the performing arts of greatest singers where described and showed by his actuation. For instance, when he was describing when Antony killed himself and Cleopatra’s reaction, I could feel how dramatic it was and absorbed the knowledge quickly. Additionally, he described and acted the scene of how Cleopatra got into the palace by a carpet in order to meet Julius Caesar. Those actuations and demonstrations gave me the opportunity to see how well the professor was for was this topic. On the other hand, in the performing arts he convinces the students on how greatest the singers are before watching a video and then he explains the excitement in the lecture notes. Thanks for teaching me! You are a great person!

English Icon

Teachers play a significant role in our lives. From our childhood, they play the biggest role in shaping our character and personality. Everyone also has a favourite teacher. Here are some essays on “My Favourite Teacher.”

100 Word Essay On My Favourite Teacher

Sarita Kaur is my favourite teacher. She teaches Social Science to class 6. She is a very professional and qualified teacher. She always helps me with my doubts, and she never gets angry even if I ask her any doubt more than once. She is very friendly and approachable, and hence many of my classmates also consider her their favourite teacher.

My Favourite Teacher Essay

I really enjoy her class, and she pays attention to each and every student in our class. She teaches in a very interactive and creative way. Her classes are very interesting, and she never makes them boring, and therefore she is my favourite teacher.

200 Word Essay On My Favourite Teacher

Everyone has a favourite teacher in their school or college life. The one teacher whose classes they look forward to attending. They wait eagerly and never skip that one particular teacher’s class. Anita Sharma is that teacher for me. She is my favourite teacher. She teaches us History, Geography, Economics, and Civics.

Most of my classmates from other sections complained about how boring these subjects were. But she makes these subjects fascinating by using her unique way of teaching. She uses stories and pictures to teach the theory. Her classes are enjoyable and engaging. She keeps checking on everyone from the first bench to the last bench in her class.

She is also one of those teachers that guides us whenever we are stuck with doubts. She even made a social media group so we can contact her especially when we have any doubts anytime. Whenever I can’t understand anything in Social Science, I ask her in the group, and she replies instantly, solving my doubts in minutes. She is always gentle and calm with students who don’t understand fundamental theories. She tries to explain them using different techniques, but there is never a slight bit of frustration or anger in her tone. She rarely scolds any student, and she has never struck someone. All these reasons made her my favourite teacher.

500 Word Essay On My Favourite Teacher

I was never a really bright student in my class, I used to love other subjects, but mathematics was always my weak subject. But it all changed in class 9 when Anirudh Kumar became our mathematics teacher. In his first-class itself, he gently and in a very calm way introduced himself and went to each and every student to ask about their hobbies and favourite subjects. When he asked me, I abruptly said, “I don’t like Mathematics, and history is my favourite subject.”

The classroom went completely silent. I was afraid that he was going to be upset over my answer, but to my shock, he smiled and said, “We will change that by the end of this year.”

Now I am in class 12, and he really did change my favourite subject. I love mathematics only because of him. He is and will always be my favourite teacher. He taught his students in a way no other teacher did. Not only that, but he never scolded anyone for doing any of the work wrong. Furthermore, he was always very patient and friendly. Even the weakest students in the class including me were slowly improving in the exams because of him.

Way Of Teaching | He used funny and catchy rhyming tricks to make us learn the hard mathematics formulas. We never ever felt any discomfort or fear in his presence; he turned the class into a convivial and jolly place single-handedly. There were days when I looked for Sunday to pass, just to be in the Mathematics class on Mondays. Whenever I got confused or troubled with any problem – from a small long division sum to choosing my career, I went to him, and he solved all my problems in seconds. Even my classmates used to take his help and fondly called him sir counsellor.

On the teacher’s day, he even won the best teacher award. He was selected by popular voting. I realised that day Anirudh sir is a favourite of many. I felt very proud and happy for him.

Inspiration To Students | He was also involved in many social activities. He used to teach poor kids for free in the evening. He was connected with many NGOs and went to teach underprivileged kids in slums on weekends. I remember once he took our entire class to the slum area. I was struck with awe when I saw him teaching the kids there with the same level of passion and zeal he used to teach us in the school. That was the moment he became my all-time favourite teacher.

Impact On My Life | I scored the highest marks in Mathematics in my class 9. He developed a spark in me to study mathematics. He turned the dull and boring subject into something I love doing just for fun. I even scored full marks in my class 10 Board Examination. I spoke to him over the phone and thanked him. The mediocre student in me will be forever grateful to him for teaching with so much passion. He played a huge part in making me what I am today.

500+ Words Essay on My Favourite Teacher

Teachers play an essential role in our life as an ideal teacher is responsible for the development of the students. Teachers play a vital role in creating a strong foundation of basic knowledge, not only regarding subjects but also for life. It is mostly what we learn at school that helps us throughout our lives when we have to make important decisions and perform other crucial tasks.

Having a particular teacher that you are especially comfortable with can be a massive advantage as it can help you move through your school years in an easier way. A good teacher can also act as a mentor, guiding you all through your life, even apart from just academics.

I am a student of 10th Class of a reputed private school. There are many great teachers in my school but everyone has that one teacher they are especially grateful to. Likewise, my favourite teacher is Mr Manish Khandelwal Sir. Manish Sir teaches us Maths, and he has a really attractive personality. He is very polite and humble and we all the students love him. He is also a person trusted the most by parents and teachers, as he constantly strives in creating a balanced environment in working hard at academics and having fun doing so.

Qualities of My Favorite Teacher

Manish Sir is tall and quite good looking. He is 32 years old and very experienced. His way of teaching is excellent. He believes in simple living and high thinking. All the students love him for his superb way of teaching and humble behaviour. He has an experience of 9 years in education, and he has done masters in Mathematics. He easily solves complicated mathematical equations.

He has a unique way of explaining his methods of solving problems. This way, he makes even the most complex of problems look simple and makes it very easy to understand for all students. He has all favourite teacher qualities in him, and has an exceptional amount of patience, which is one of the reasons why everyone considers him as the best teacher. He explains every question or doubt with so much patience and clarity and makes sure you understand them thoroughly.

He has an excellent command of English and unlike most teachers out there for whom writing impositions, formulas and theorems are important,  he focuses more on logical reasoning rather than memorising complicated equations. He is very disciplined and punctual and ensures that we follow these principles as well. He understands the importance of time and always comes on time. He possesses many of such appreciable qualities which are commendable and highly appreciated by students who want to pursue these qualities as well.

He is very enthusiastic but he is not too pushy and allows us to make the decisions on our own. He perfectly understands the balance between study and extracurricular activities and helps us stay on track with both. He believes in the overall development of the students and thus encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities.

He prepares students for Maths olympiads so that their confidence can be boosted and they excel in a complex subject like Maths. Under his guidance, many students have won prizes in Maths olympiads, and even I have scored the highest marks securing the first position in many Maths competitions. He is an asset to our school as he has played a massive role in improving the overall image of our school including co-curricular and academic aspects and we students are fortunate to have him.

What Makes Him My Favourite Teacher?

Manish Sir is my favourite teacher because he is very humble, kind and polite. I love his way of teaching. He loves all students and doesn't believe in punishing them. He focuses more on conceptual clarity than burdening students with excessive homeworks. He never scolds students and never expresses his concerns in the form of anger. Instead, he talks to the students personally in a calm manner, in a way that helps us improve and wants to put in more effort.

He asks students to be honest with him and always gives equal attention to all the students. He never makes fun of any students and gives extra attention to the weak students. Whenever a student fails to understand any question or equation, he puts extra effort to make him understand, and never tends to lose patience. He calmly explains no matter how many times he has to repeat the same question or statement. He is focused on making us understand every concept with utmost clarity and that is the reason why all students love him.

One of my most favourite qualities of Manish sir is that he keeps track of every student in the class; how they are performing or what are the things they are good at. He constantly keeps an eye out for everyone in the class and helps them to improve themselves and guides them throughout the learning process. He is one of the best teachers in our school who keeps constantly motivating their students and  guiding them in all spheres of life. Manish sir is especially known for not showing even the tiniest amount of favouritism. He treats all his students with an equal amount of fondness and love and cares for every one of us deeply.

He is very experienced and full of life. He tends to keep the entire class on a positive note and never exhibits any behaviour that deteriorates other people. He is concerned about people’s feelings and never hurts anybody. He is very sober and has a great sense of humour. His mathematical knowledge is very vast. Apart from being good at mathematics, he also preaches the importance of having sound knowledge in English and literature.

He loves reading books and always encourages students to spare some time to read novels instead of doing mindless activities like watching tv or playing video games. He also advises us to get more physical activity and play with other people our age and interact more as it would improve communication. He advises students to pursue their hobbies or interests. He understands students' problems and always provides them with a helping hand. He explains everything with examples and makes every concept so interesting to learn for students.

We students love to attend his class because he is very understanding. He covers each topic in detail and gives his full attention in class. He would be the first one to notice if even a single student loses track or starts dozing off. He would just suggest an alternative method or a simpler explanation instead of blaming the student for not paying enough attention to the class. He knows how to draw students' attention in class. He never assigns us too much homework, and after class, he provides us with regular assignments to assess our understanding of a particular topic.

The assignments are often designed to be more informative and research-oriented rather than just making us write down questions or paragraphs from the book and memorise them. By actually going through related articles and books, we gain a greater amount of knowledge and this way, we tend to remember what we learn for a long time as well.

In case if any student fails to do the assignment or performs poorly in a particular chapter, he doesn't shout at them but instead makes them understand the concept again. This way, we students understand that whatever he is doing is for our own benefit and we tend to work harder to improve ourselves. These are a few of the things he does that makes him different from the other teachers and appears approachable to everyone around him. I have never seen a humble and polite teacher like him, and one day I will try to be like him in my career.

Manish Sir is not just a great teacher but also my ideal person. He has all the favourite teacher qualities, and everyone loves him. I am lucky to be his student, and I will always follow his principles in my life. Even after leaving this school, he will remain my favourite teacher, and I will never forget him. I will always remember what he has taught me through example, and I will try to be a great person like him in the future.

I believe that it is a game that combines strategy, athleticism, and teamwork . The best thing I like about this sport is the dribbling of the basketball. I love playing basketball with my friends at the society’s basketball court.

We used to gather every evening at 6:30 and play a match regularly to maintain the stamina and the pace of precision shooting. The winning situation in this game is completely dependent on teamwork, the result could be truly magical. Basketball is the sport that keeps me captivated with its adrenaline-pumping excitement.

Essay on My Favourite Sport 250 words

My favourite sport is everyone’s favourite. Yes, Cricket it is. Cricket is often known as the ‘ Gentleman’s Game .’ Almost every Indian loves cricket for us this sport is not just a game it is an emotion. The entire Nation keeps a keen eye on the World Cup match when our country is performing.

My idol is Hon’ble Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. In my childhood, I tried to copy their style and always wished to be a good cricket player. As it is rightly said ‘Practice makes a Man Perfect.’ I also believed in it and practised with my school cricket team to become a good cricket player. My endurance and dedication helped me to secure the position of opening batsman for the school cricket team and we are presenting our school at the district-level cricket competition.

The main reason cricket resonates with me is its rich history and traditions. It’s a sport that has been played for centuries, and it carries with it a sense of timelessness. The iconic venues, the legends of the game, and the celebrated rivalries all contribute to the sport’s allure. Whether it’s the Ashes battles between England and Australia or the fervent India-Pakistan contests, cricket has a way of gripping the hearts and minds of fans around the world.

Cricket not only teaches sportsmanship but also helps us learn about teamwork, patience, dedication, etc. My dream is to build a successful cricket career. To accomplish my goals I am planning to take admission in the cricket academy and learn from experts.

In conclusion, cricket is more than a sport to me; it’s a culture, a passion, and a source of endless joy in my life. Its rich heritage, technical intricacies, and life lessons will forever held close to my heart.

Essay on My Favourite Sport Badminton

Among all the indoor and outdoor activities, I love to play badminton the most. Badminton is played as an indoor and outdoor game but traditionally it was an indoor game. It is one of the most admired sports among children and adults. Badminton is my favourite sport because it requires speed, practice, precision, stamina, and accuracy all at the same time.

A player needs to be very attentive while playing badminton. When each stroke of the shuttle makes a ‘whoosh’ sound, it infuses a feeling of competitiveness and enthusiasm to perform extraordinarily against the opponent.

I am a huge admirer of Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu. Watching them perform makes me feel so proud and more inclined towards the sport. It’s my dream to play a badminton tournament at the National level and win for the country.

Key Points To Note While Writing An Essay On My Favourite Book For Lower Primary Classes

Importance of books in life, 10 lines on ‘my favourite book’ for kids, a paragraph on ‘my favourite book’ for kids, short essay on ‘my favourite book’ in english for kids, long essay on ‘my favourite book’ for children, what will your child learn by writing an essay on ‘my favourite book’.

Reading is the most effective learning method, and we all know the value of children reading literature. In truth, books have always been and will remain the greatest path to knowledge. If you’ve ever pondered how to start reading without becoming weary, this is your opportunity to do so. Continue reading these sample essays on ‘My Favourite Book’ for classes 1, 2, and 3 or ‘The Book I Like The Most’, and get some ideas for writing an essay on your own.

Essay writing on ‘my favourite book’ is easy. Let us guide you with some points to remember.

  • Begin by writing an introduction about the author and some background information on the book.
  • Then, in a clean, straightforward manner, compose the primary text, and end with a proper conclusion.

Books are vital in each child’s life. They bring kids to a fantasy universe, introduce them to the big world out there, and improve their reading and writing skills, memory, and cognition. We cannot emphasise the value of literature in the kids’ lives as it expands their minds and serves as portals into the universe surrounding us. They leave a long-lasting impression on children.

Younger children can be expected to write their essay in a simple format. Guide them to jot down their points and write them out in grammatically correct sentences. Below are ten points on the essay for class 1 & class 2:

  • Books are a treasure trove of knowledge.
  • Reading books is an excellent habit that gives us insight and expertise.
  • They help us improve our brain power and expand our vocabulary.
  • I like reading books about fairy tales.
  • Fairy tale books have fascinating stories about fairies and their companions in fairyland.
  • I read these books every night before going to sleep.
  • The book I’m currently reading has some lovely stories with big pictures!
  • The book’s illustration makes it more enjoyable to read.
  • The pictures in the book make it easy to imagine the fantasy world.
  • My friends and I always exchange our books, so we get to read many new books.

Books are our great buddies since they provide all the information about the world. One of my favourite books is ‘The Jungle Book’.  Rudyard Kipling wrote ‘The Jungle Book’ in 1894. The story revolves around Mowgli, a human kid raised by wolves in a wild forest.

Bagheera, the loving panther, finds a small boy in the jungle and delivers him to the wolf pack. Mama wolf then raises Mowgli as her baby. Daddy wolf teaches Mowgli all the skills of the forest. Mowgli understands the jungle laws and spends most of his time with Baloo and Bagheera. Sher Khan, a dangerous tiger, wants to eat Mowgli. So Mowgli thinks of a plan to rescue himself and succeeds. Everybody in the forest gets happy.

Reading is something I enjoy doing. I’ve read many novels. But, one book holds a special place in my heart, my favourite book, Panchatantra, written by Vishnu Sharma. It has many stories with pictures. Every story has a moral which teaches something good and meaningful in life. I enjoy reading picture books, and this book offered me a variety of stories.

One of my favourite stories from Panchatantra is ‘The Foolish Lion And The Clever Rabbit’. Once upon a time, there was a greedy lion who used to kill animals. Everyone was afraid of him. To reduce the senseless killing, the animals requested the lion to spare them the fear and decided to send one animal to the lion each day. The lion agreed to this agreement. One day, the animals sent a rabbit. He was an intelligent creature. He reached the lion’s cave late and told him that another big lion had stopped him on the way. He told the greedy lion that this second lion was challenging him. The lion felt very angry and decided to teach a good lesson to the other lion. He asked the rabbit to take him to the place where he met the other lion. The clever rabbit took him to a well and told him that the other lion lived in that well. When the greedy lion looked inside the well, he saw his own reflection and mistook it for the second lion. He jumped into the well to attack his competitor but drowned. The rabbit saved himself and the entire forest because of his quick wit and cleverness.

There are many such stories of wit and intelligence in the Panchatantra books. They introduce us to virtues such as compassion, bravery, wisdom, mental presence, and togetherness.

Books are loyal companions that will never abandon you. This holds true for me because you can always find books with and around me.

Books can transport us to other universes without leaving our current location. Books also help us expand our creativity. My family and teachers always motivated me to read and instilled in me the value of books. The book I like most is the Panchatantra. It is an extremely fascinating book. I have finished the book, but I still continue to read it because it is so entertaining!

One of the most prominent Indian authors and scholars, Vishnu Sharma, wrote Panchatantra in Sanskrit in the 3rd century BC. The book was later translated into many different languages. It is a collection of several stories. Vishnu Sharma has done a good job of giving moral life lessons by showcasing the activity of animals. I enjoy the book because it has many stories I love and cherish.

My mother bought this book for me as my birthday present. When I first read this book, it captured my attention instantly. Panchatantra has a unique narration which makes it my favourite book. It teaches us how humble, loving, and caring people always succeed. The book also showcases how bad qualities like cunningness, jealousy, anger and cheating can get you into trouble.

Panchatantra is a narrative of several animal characters in various stories, including a lion named Pingalaka, two bulls named Karnataka and Sanjivaka, a fox named Damanaka, deer named Chars, and so many others. These animals showcase human behaviour that we come across in our daily life.

Even though the book has a variety of stories, the story of The Crab and The Stork is close to my heart. It teaches us about presence of mind and intelligence. The story begins with a stork that was searching for food but could not find any as he was old. Finally, he plans to catch a fish to eat. He goes to a pond and pretends to be sad and depressed. Seeing him gloomy, a fish and a crab ask him why he is upset. The stork makes up a story that humans were going to inhabit the pond to grow crops. They are convinced by this story and are worried about how to stop this. The stork takes all the fish, frogs and other marine animals out of the pond, and slyly uses them for his meal. Finally, it is the turn of the crab to go with the stork, but the crab is aware that his friends are dead. So, the crab uses his intelligence, grabs the stork’s neck, and kills him to save himself.

Panchatantra stories like this one have taught me to think before taking any action. The book educates me on optimism and how to see the brightness at the end of the tunnel. It has made me realise the value of being good to all in any situation.

Thinking about their favourite book will make children mentally revisit all the books they have read and enjoyed. It will also encourage them to analyse what they like about each of the books as they choose their favourite one and think of points to write about. Moreover, as children discuss their assignments in class, it will expose them to a whole new variety of books that they would like to add to their reading wishlist. This assignment will also make children understand the importance of reading for their overall learning. It will also give them good writing practice with a topic that they can enjoy. The samples given here will give your child an idea of how to write this essay independently. So what are you waiting for? Ask your child to pick their favourite book and compose an amazing essay on their own!
