Under Jaclyn’s guidance, I found new direction for my writing and tackled topics that I haven’t been able to put down on paper until now. I shared my work and became part of a community of writers, whose feedback was invaluable to me. I dove into my fears and created new dreams for what I might do with my writing in the future. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. I’m already sad that it’s over.
– Katie Kindle
I now have the motivation and confidence to write and publish, which previously seemed more like a faraway fantasy. I learned that reality is what you create and build for yourself, not something you should wait for or leave for chance to decide.
– Nechama Winston
I appreciated meeting every woman in my group. We were all so different, coming from very different backgrounds and places, but we all shared our love of writing and traveling in common.
– Elayne Sanchez
I came out of it a different person than I went in…[Jaclyn] made us linger in our discomfort long enough to compel us to make a change. In fact, she had to relinquish control in order for it to be a catalyst. That’s a mark of a great teacher.
– Stephen Elliot
I finally remembered what I really need, and who I really am.
— Alex Pendleton
The trip did everything for me. Planned by the amazing team behind Pink Pangea, I can officially say the trip changed my life for the better. I not only practiced my writing in ways that expanded my passion and skill, but I also made friends of all different ages from all over the world that I now consider some of the greatest people I’ve ever met.
– Kathryn Cardin
I stumbled upon Pink Pangea’s writing retreat. I only had to read through the page once to know that this was the right time and the right opportunity to finally take that risk. I signed up in a heartbeat, and I am so glad that I did.
– Julianne Kanter
The only reason I submitted an article and was accepted was because I went to the writing retreat and gained the confidence needed as a writer to think my writing was even good enough to submit to a major online publication.
— Shannon Whaley

Postgraduate course in Digital Experience Design.
Join the Ivy League of digital design.
Learn to design, build and launch cutting‑edge digital products and services
An experience is the result of an interaction with a product or a service. When that interaction occurs through one or more digital channels you call it a digital experience. This course will prepare you to design those experiences, by teaching you how to perform user centered design and research, interaction design, user interface design, front‑end development, digital marketing, design strategy, design management and entrepreneurship. The result? Our students are generally employed before finishing the course or within three months of graduation.
Who’s the course for?
This is a one year specialization course aimed primarily at designers that want to expand and consolidate their knowledge in the digital field. If you have a different background and are looking to make a shift to digital design, you may also be considered, but you need to have solid visual design skills. Check if you’re eligible .
How can I apply?
Information about application requirements and fees, academic calendar, tuition fees and everything in between can be found in the admissions page for postgraduate studies . Make sure you regularly check that page for up‑to‑date information. There are only 20 available spots and they are usually filled during the first application phase.
I don’t have a portfolio. May I apply?
Short answer: no. As we stated, this is a specialization course aimed at digital designers who want to consolidate knowledge or communication designers who are looking to make a career shift. We don’t mind having students with different backgrounds, but we sure don’t want to spend half a semester focusing on design basics.
I work full‑time. Is the course intensive?
Yes, it runs from Monday to Thursday, from 18:00 to 22:30. That doesn’t mean you can’t work at the same time — many of our alumni worked full-time —, but it does mean you’ll have to put an extra effort to develop and complete all the assignments compared to full‑time students. Our alumni say it was worth it.
The course spans two semesters and is comprised by a set of mandatory and optional units, with a total of 60 ECTS. All the course units are lectured in Portuguese 🇵🇹 and students are expected to have a clear understanding of the language (with at least level B1 of the European language levels ).
Digital Experience Design Practice
This course unit focuses primarily on the processes, methodologies, tools and techniques needed for the development of cutting‑edge digital projects. Students are expected to develop end‑to‑end projects, according to several briefings deployed throughout the year, where they apply the knowledge acquired in all the other course units.
User Interface Design
This course unit focuses primarily on the methodologies, tools and techniques for user interface design. Students are lectured on topics such as user‑centered design, information architecture, interaction design, atomic design, visual design, content strategy, gamification, usability and accessibility, amongst others.
User Experience Design
This course unit focuses primarily on user centered design methods and techniques. Students are lectured on topics such as user research, personas, scenarios, information architecture, user behaviour, sketching, prototyping and usability testing.
Digital Languages and Technologies
This course unit focuses primarily on the latest revisions of web languages and technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Students are lectured on web standards, content management systems and overall web publishing tools and techniques.
Digital Design Theory and Critique
This course unit focuses primarily on the study and critique of the history, main theories and approaches of digital design and the web. Students are expected to research and develop critical thinking about the subject.
Digital Marketing
This course unit focuses primarily on the marketing of products or services using digital technologies. Students are lectured on topics such as search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), campaign marketing, social media, marketing strategy and display advertising.
Design Management and Entrepreneurship
This course unit focuses primarily in the methods and techniques to identify market opportunities, develop, launch and scale digital products or services. It also focuses on design management as a business discipline, exploring topics such as project management and strategy.
Real‑world tools and processes
Although we’re tool agnostic, we do foster the use of the standard tools used in the industry. Tools like Sketch, Figma, InVision Studio, Framer, Adobe XD, Sublime Text, CodeKit, SourceTree, Transmit, MindNode, Trello, Slack or G Suite, amongst others, are used on a daily basis during the course. This ensures students become proficient with those tools, but also that they develop their own system and working methods.
All the lecturers are seasoned professionals who solve complex problems for a broad range of organisations on a daily basis. They not only have advanced conceptual knowledge of their field of work but also have the experience of leading and mentoring cross-functional teams with a user‑centered design approach.

Creative Writing: Engaging Activities for Pupils and Students
One-Week course in: Athens , Berlin , Florence , Prague
Description
Concept by Michela Silla
Prompting your students to write can be extremely challenging . Writing requires organizing thoughts, and presenting them clearly, which requires time, and focus. Because of this, students often find it hard and prefer less demanding tasks.
And yet, writing skills are among the most basic and fundamental objectives of school education. How hard it is to push your students on this steep path?
This course will help participants train their writing skills in their classroom with creative assignments that are designed to promote motivation and fun. It will constantly ask participants to engage in writing.
Experimenting with the activities on themselves, participants will acknowledge their effectiveness, and feel more confident in proposing them in their school setting.
Participants will discover novel activities, games, and techniques to introduce their learners to (creative) writing. They will identify many ways to exercise student imagination and engage the five senses in writing. They will explore how to describe multiple perspectives and discuss how to shape new characters and locations or structure the plot of a story.
Participants will also learn to make writing more personal by expressing their emotions, feelings, and expectations through it – that is, another effective means to raise student interest in writing. Finally, they will practice with prose as well as poetry, which constitute a different powerful setting where to prompt student imagination and improve writing skills .
All the activities proposed are equally effective for writing in one’s own language as well as in a second language. Thus, the course will support school teachers in promoting student writing in the mother language as well as in a foreign language.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to convey to students the importance of creative writing. They will be able to increase students’ awareness , confidence, and fluency in writing, and to use writing tasks to improve students’ understanding of language as a live medium that allows them to manipulate and express personal meanings.

Writing Workshops Focusing on the Creative Process and International Travel
In our creative writing classes you will generate brand new work and discover new material for any works-in-process you are creating. We will teach you exercises that will help you gain confidence in your writing and a greater awareness of what your unique creative process needs to flourish.
We use many different techniques to help you on your writer’s journey. You will be doing free writing, writing from guided visualizations, collaborative writing, journaling and memoir and even some drawing, photography, and mindfulness.
Many writers have credited writing their first books, scripts, and memoirs to taking our interdisciplinary writing course.
A Brand New Set of Writing Tools
In this process oriented workshop you will be doing free writing, writing from guided visualizations, collaborative writing, journaling and memoir work and even some rudimentary drawing, collage and photography. The atmosphere in our workshops is nurturing, inspiring, and fun.
Keeping your writing Infused with Life
Why do we alternate between writing, visual and oral exercises, and mindfulness in our workshops? In short, because it frees up your writing and reminds you to play! Neuropsychology proves that using these different mediums stimulates different parts of our brain and therefore changes how we experience life.
We believe that getting away from words for a few moments and into a bit of art, meditation and oral storytelling widens your perception and deepens your literary expression. Creativity delights in surprise and when the brain is leaping from literary to visual to visceral perception and back again, your writing thrives.
The tools we provide will help you outrun the inner critic that doesn’t give your imagination a moment’s rest. The great composer John Cage said: “creating and analyzing can’t happen simultaneously.” Our workshop will focus you on listening to and following your creative voice and intuition and prime you to be receptive to the inspiration all around you. You will discover many unexplored images and themes you want to write about. Most importantly, because our workshops are so full of play, you will find yourself absorbed in the sheer joy of writing.
Share with people from all over the world
A typical Workshop will include participants from all over the world and from many disciplines with one thing in common-the love of the process of creative work.
Class time is a combination of teachers’ talks, individual exercises, and group work. The atmosphere in our creativity writing classes is nurturing, motivating and fun. Many people have found The Creativity Workshop to be a life-changing experience.Writers have credited their first books, scripts, and memoirs to working with us.
Many have said the workshop brought them back to their love of writing. Shelley Berc, co-instructor and director of The Creativity Workshop, has a great deal of experience teaching how to overcome writer’s block. She is both a novelist and playwright and was a professor in the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program and Playwrights Workshop for many years..

What is acting.
Acting is a captivating journey into the world of storytelling, where actors interpret and portray characters in scripted plays and films. It involves memorizing lines, exploring physicality, and conveying characters' emotions authentically.
Acting allows individuals to connect deeply with diverse human experiences and offers a rewarding artistic adventure, whether you're a seasoned performer or a beginner.
What is Improv
Improv is all about spontaneous creativity and stepping out of your comfort zone. In this unscripted process, participants create scenes on the spot, responding to prompts from the audience or fellow performers. It's a fun, unpredictable journey that fosters camaraderie and laughter.
Improv helps you connect authentically with others, be more creative, and tap into your inner spontaneity and playfulness.
