देश के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में शिक्षा का महत्व अधिक देखा गया है। हम अपने अभिभावकों और शिक्षक के प्रयासों के द्वारा अपने जीवन में अच्छे शिक्षित व्यक्ति बनते हैं। वे वास्तव में हमारे शुभ चिंतक हैं, जिन्होंने हमारे जीवन को सफलता की ओर ले जाने में मदद की। आजकल, शिक्षा प्रणाली को ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में बढ़ावा देने के लिए बहुत सी सरकारी योजनाएं चलायी जा रही हैं ताकि, सभी की उपयुक्त शिक्षा तक पहुँच संभव हो। ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में लोगों को शिक्षा के महत्व और लाभों को दिखाने के लिए टीवी और अखबारों में बहुत से विज्ञापनों को दिखाया जाता है क्योंकि पिछड़े ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में लोग गरीबी और शिक्षा की ओर अधूरी जानकारी के कारण पढ़ाई करना नहीं चाहते हैं और जो लोग करना चाहते है उनके पास सुविधा उपलब्ध नहीं रहती की वे अच्छे से अपनी शिक्षा पूर्ण कर पाए।

शिक्षा प्रणाली महंगा होने के कारण गरीबों और माध्यम वर्ग के लोग 10वीं और 12वीं कक्षा के बाद उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त करने में सफल नहीं हो पाते है। इसी कारण समाज में लोगों के बीच बहुत अंतर और असमानता देखने को मिलती है। गरीबों और माध्यम वर्ग के लोगों को अधिक महँगाई होने के कारण स्कूल या कालेज में शिक्षा प्राप्त करने की अनुमति नहीं मिलती है। इस विषय में भारत सरकार के द्वारा सभी के लिए शिक्षा प्रणाली को सुगम और कम महंगी करने के लिए बहुत से नियम, कानून और योजना लागू किये गये हैं। आज देश में सबसे अधिक महत्वपूर्ण कार्य है, उच्च शिक्षा को सस्ता और सुगम बनाना ताकि देश का हर नागरिक को उचित शिक्षा मिलने का मौका मिले। इससे पिछड़े क्षेत्रों, गरीबों और मध्यम वर्ग के लोगों के लिए भविष्य में समान शिक्षा और सफलता प्राप्त करने के अवसर मिलेगा। आज के युग में देश के हर नागरिक को सही शिक्षा से अवगत कराना अनिवार्य है चाहे वह पुरुष हो या नारी, गरीब और माध्यम वर्ग का परिवार हो या अमीर वर्ग का परिवार। शिक्षा सबके लिए एक समान है और उसपे सबका अधिकार है।

उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए शिक्षा का महत्व कितना अधिक है उसे हम शब्दों में बयान नहीं कर सकते क्योंकि शिक्षा ही एक मात्र साधन है जो सभी के उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए आवश्यक उपकरण है। जीवन में शिक्षा के इस उपकरण का प्रयोग करके देश और समाज का नाम गर्व से ऊँचा कर सकते है। शिक्षा का समय सभी के लिए सामाजिक और व्यक्तिगत रुप से बहुत महत्वपूर्ण समय होता है। शिक्षा किसी भी बड़ी पारिवारिक, सामाजिक और यहाँ तक कि राष्ट्रीय और अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय समस्याओं को भी हल करने की क्षमता प्रदान करती है।

जीवन को सर्वगुण-सम्पन्न और सफल समृद्ध करने तथा सत, चित और आनंद प्राप्ति करने में शिक्षा का महत्व है। शिक्षा के सभी स्तर अपना एक विशेष महत्व और स्थान रखते हैं। शिक्षा लोगों के मस्तिष्क को बड़े स्तर पर विकसित करने का कार्य करती है तथा इसके साथ ही यह समाज में लोगों के बीच के सभी भेदभावों को हटाने में भी सहायता करती है। यह सभी मानव अधिकारों, सामाजिक अधिकारों, देश के प्रति कर्तव्यों और दायित्वों को समझने में हमारी सहायता करती है।

होली का त्योहार राधा-कृष्ण के पवित्र प्रेम से भी जुड़ा हुआ है। पौराणिक समय में श्री कृष्ण और राधा की बरसाने की होली के साथ ही होली के उत्सव की शुरुआत हुई। आज भी बरसाने और नंदगाव की लट्ठमार होली विश्व विख्यात है। यह त्योहार जीवन के उत्साह, उल्लास तथा उमंग को दर्शाता है। होली के पर्व को सतयुग में विष्णु भक्ति के प्रतिफल के रूप में भी मनाया जाता है।

होली के त्योहार को लेकर विशेषकर बच्चों में काफी उत्साह होता है। वे होलिका दहन के लिए काफी पहले से लकड़ियाँ जमा करने लगते हैं। गाँवों में तो हालांकि लकड़ियाँ आसानी से मिल जाती हैं, लेकिन शहर के बच्चे घरों के खराब फर्नीचर आदि की तलाश करते हैं और अमूमन वे दूसरों से माँगकर होलिका की व्यवस्था करते हैं। होलिका तैयार करने में सभी लकड़ियों का योगदान करते हैं। आजकल शहरों में आमतौर पर किसी चौक-चौराहे पर दो-चार दिन पहले से ही लोग पेड़ की सूखी टहनियां, लकड़ी, बांस आदि जमा करने लगते हैं। पहाड़ जैसे इस ढेर में मुहूर्त के अनुसार होलिका दहन करते हैं। लोगों के घरों में पकवान बनता है। होली के पर्व के लिए घर पर मिलने आने वाले लोगों के लिए महिलाएं मिठाइयां, नमकीन और गुझिया बनाने में जुट जाती हैं। रंग और गुलाल का स्टॉक तैयार किया जाता है।

फाल्गुन मास की पूर्णमासी को होलिका दहन के साथ त्योहार की शुरुआत होती है और अगले दिन होली का रंग-बिरंगा त्योहार मनाया जाता है। लोग एक-दूसरे के घर जाकर रंग-गुलाल लगाकर होली की शुभकामनाएँ देते हैं। शहरी संस्कृति ने होली मिलन कार्यक्रमों को जन्म दिया है, जिसमें राजनैतिक दल, संस्थाएं होली मिलन कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करती हैं।इस दिन तो ऐसा लगता है कि लोगों को एक-दूसरे को रंगने और पानी से भिगाने का लाइसेंस मिला होता है। साथ ही "बुरा न मानो, होली है" का जुमला यह बताता है कि आज के दिन लोगों को रंग-गुलाल लगाने की छूट है और इससे किसी को भी नाराज नहीं होना चाहिए।

होली की शुरुआत से जुड़ी एक पौराणिक कथा है। विष्णुपुराण की एक कथा के अनुसार दैत्यों के राजा हिरण्यकश्यप ने अपने राज्य में भगवान विष्णु की पूजा प्रतिबंधित कर रखी थी। लेकिन उसका पुत्र प्रह्लाद भगवान विष्णु का परम भक्त निकला और वह दिन-रात भगवान विष्णु की भक्ति में लीन रहता। दैत्यों के राजा हिरण्यकश्यप को यह पसंद नहीं था। ऐसे में जब किसी भी तरह से प्रह्लाद को भगवान विष्णु की भक्ति करने से रोक पाने में उसे सफलता हाथ नहीं लगी, तो उसने प्रह्लाद को जान से मारने का आदेश दिया। हाथी के पैरों तले कुचलने और पहाड़ से फेंककर भी जब प्रहलाद को नहीं मार सका, तो हिरण्यकश्यप ने अपनी बहन की होलिका की मदद से प्रह्लाद को जलाकर मारने की योजना बनाई।

होलिका को यह वरदान मिला था कि अग्नि में वह नहीं जलेगी। इसलिए लकड़ियों के ढेर पर वह प्रह्लाद को गोद में लेकर बैठ गई और उसमें आग लगा दी गई। इस होलिका की गोद में बैठा बालक प्रह्लाद भगवान का नाम जपता रहा और उसका बाल भी बांका नहीं हुआ, जबकि वरदान प्राप्त होलिका अपनी दुष्ट इच्छाओं के चलते जलकर भस्म हो गई। मान्यता है कि बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत की याद में तभी से ही होली का त्योहार मनाया जा रहा है।

रक्षा बंधन का त्योहार सावन के महीने की पूर्णिमा तिथि को मनाया जाता है।

रक्षा बंधन का शाब्दिक अर्थ रक्षा करने वाला बंधन है। इस पर्व में बहनें अपने भाई के कलाई पर रक्षा सूत्र बांधती हैं और बदले में भाई जीवन भर उनकी रक्षा करने का वचन देते हैं। रक्षा बंधन को राखी या सावन के महिने में पड़ने के वजह से श्रावणी व सलोनी भी कहा जाता है।

इतिहास के पन्नों को देखें तो इस त्योहार की शुरुआत की उत्पत्ति लगभग 6 हजार साल पहले बताई गई है। इसके कई साक्ष्य भी इतिहास के पन्नों में दर्ज हैं। रक्षाबंधन की शुरुआत का सबसे पहला साक्ष्य रानी कर्णावती व सम्राट हुमायूँ हैं।

राखी बांधने के बाद बहनें अपने भाइयों को रोली (लाल तिलक), अक्षत और दीपक लगाती हैं। इस अवसर पर बहनें अपने भाइयों की कलाई पर पवित्र धागा बांधती हैं, ऐसा माना जाता है कि इससे भाई-बहन का रिश्ता मजबूत होता है। बदले में, भाई अपनी बहनों को उपहार देते हैं और जीवन भर उनकी रक्षा करने का वादा करते हैं।

क्षा बंधन मनाने के पीछे की कहानी यह है कि जब यमुना ने यम को राखी बांधी, तो मृत्यु के देवता ने उसे अमरता प्रदान की। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि वह इस भाव से इतने प्रभावित हुए कि उन्होंने घोषणा की कि जो भी भाई राखी बांधेगा और अपनी बहन की रक्षा करने की पेशकश करेगा, वह भी अमर हो जाएगा।

रक्षाबंधन का पर्व प्रेम और पवित्रता का पर्व है। यह पर्व भाई और बहनों के लिए एक दूसरे की लंबी उम्र और सुखद जीवन की कामना करने का दिन होता है। इस दिन बहनें अपने भाई की कलाई पर राखी बांधती हैं और उनके लंबी उम्र की कामना करती हैं। वहीं भाई उन्हें कोई तोहफा देने के साथ-साथ जीवन भर के सुख-दुख में उनका साथ देने का वादा करते हैं। इस पर्व की वजह से भाई-बहनों के रिश्तों में और मजबूती आती है।

रक्षाबंधन 30 और 31 अगस्त दोनों ही दिन मनाया जायेगा लेकिन भद्रा के साए की वजह से शुभ मुहूर्त का खास ख्याल रखना होगा। 30 अगस्त को लगभग पूरे दिन ही भद्रा का साया रहेगा और 31 अगस्त को राखी बांधने का शुभ मुहूर्त सिर्फ सुबह कुछ देर तक ही है।
