Essays About the Countryside: Top 5 Examples And Prompts

Escaping to the great outdoors offers a breath of fresh air. If you are writing essays about the countryside, here are examples and prompts to inspire you.

The countryside is our most natural environment and offers tranquillity to millions. Many of us know the benefit of a trip to a quiet beach, a remote village, or a hike in the mountains. In our fast-paced world, visiting the countryside can provide peace and serenity.

Nature, rural life, and the countryside are sources of inspiration for writers and have helped some of the most prolific authors conceive and perfect their works. Our natural world has been the setting of beloved, timeless classics, such as A Year in Provence, Wuthering Heights, and The Darling Buds of May, to name a few.

If you are required to write a great essay about the countryside, have a look at some of the essay examples listed below.

1. Growing Up on the Farm by Loren Pool

2. a country childhood: growing up in rural suffolk by abbey ellis, 3. the blissful province life by carol padua montero, 4. through the eyes of a farm kid by molly schmitt, 5. the magic of growing up by the sea…and why you’ll never be quite as happy anywhere else by rebecca ley, 1. what is the countryside to you, 2. how can the countryside form you as a person, 3. why is the countryside so idealized in literature, 4. should you move to the countryside.

“As time passed on the farm, more neighbors built homes and moved in. They had children closer to my age, and we all became fast friends. The farms became our playgrounds. Those friendships have been a lifelong connection that we still have today. We played in the silo, the haystacks, and the cattle fields. I’ll bet that some went home with a little cow poop on them. More than once, we had “cow pie training.” It was a good time that I was able to share with a lot of friends.”

In this article, Pool reminisces on his rural countryside upbringing on the family farm. He remembers the activities he took part in, the lessons learned, and most importantly, the connections he made. He also laments the continuing disappearance of family farms across the country as the world becomes more advanced and feels sad for all the children who will not be able to have the same experiences as he did growing up on the farm.

“If the photographs in this picture aren’t enough to convince you, the countryside really is a beautiful place to grow up. When you’re a child, you definitely don’t feel sufficiently grateful for the beauty all around you, but now, I appreciate it all the more. East Anglia is full of tiny, picturesque villages, and even the cities are lovely. Norwich will always be one of my favourite places for a day out. The lack of light pollution at night time is another wonderful aspect of countryside living. Being able to gaze up at the beautiful stars on a clear evening is a magical experience, something I definitely wouldn’t trade.”

Ellis explores aspects of rural living based on her own childhood in Suffolk, England. She remembers the inconveniences she experienced and, in contrast, recalls the peace and beauty she observed in the countryside and the lessons she learned there. She ultimately concludes that after having lived in both the country and the city, she would not trade the life of her childhood; however, she would also be comfortable in a small village with some semblance of urban living.

“Life brings simple pleasures. Simple pleasures are the most satisfying that life has to offer. The morning coffee, being outside under a warm blue sky, hanging out with loved ones after dinner, a beautiful view, having a good laugh, sleeping in on a rainy day. There are lots of things to be satisfied about. The province life is living a simple but carefree life.”

This reflection is author Carol Padua Montero’s retelling of the time that she and her partner Neil visited her childhood home in Aurora province in the Philippines. She recalls their activities, their food, and the simple joys of being with family and nature. She emphasizes the easygoing manner of provincial Filipinos: despite not having as much, they live a happy life.

“On our 300-cow dairy, we are in full swing chopping and baling hay, which means long days full of fieldwork and scrambling to fit chores and milking in between sun-up and sun-down. One of the best parts? Watching my nieces and nephews soak in all the craziness in the most innocent of ways. Their disbelief at how tall the corn is, how massive the pile of silage gets, or how much a calf’s tongue tickles as it licks them reminds me just how amazing our job is.”

Molly Schmitt describes her life as a farmer and as a “farm kid” in the countryside, where she has spent her whole life. She details her daily routine with her family and her children, but the most dominant part of her essay is about her own childhood. She recalls ten childhood memories that she cherishes dearly, involving family, food, and, of course, the farm.

“There is a beautiful sandy beach on your doorstep, replete with endless rockpools. And all you have to do is to fling open the front door and walk for five minutes, and you’re on top of a cliff, with 180-degree views of the sea, salt wind in your face.”

Ley’s reflection on country life is quite introspective, as she remembers her life by the sea as a child, particularly the house she was raised in. She remembers how she felt in the serene, idyllic setting, exploring both the highs and lows of living there. But she comes to feel conflicted over the house as her mother considers selling it. She ultimately resigns to the idea of having to let go of that house after so many years, teaching us all a lesson about moving on.

4 Writing Prompts On Essays about the Countryside

Your personal experience may provide the best inspiration. Reflect on your experiences of the countryside, and think about how it makes you feel— happy, sad, scared, or lonely? Do not let others’ experiences influence you; focus on yourself. And if necessary, take a trip to the countryside and get some fresh perspective.

Essays about the Countryside: How can the countryside form you as a person?

Many of the writers above mention in their essays or articles that the countryside taught them valuable life lessons. Consider the differences between everyday events in the country and the city. For example, growing up or going to school in either environment. How might these events compare and impact you?

As stated previously, the countryside is the setting of some of the most famous tales of all time. What draws authors to romanticize the countryside and make it the location of their story? You can also connect this to your own feelings toward the countryside. Do your feelings complement or contradict the author’s narrative?

This is a great argumentative essay topic to write about. List the advantages and disadvantages of country living and conclude whether it would be beneficial to live in the countryside or not. There is a wealth of research on the benefits of living in the countryside that you can draw on.

Tip: If writing an essay sounds like a lot of work, simplify it. Write a simple 5 paragraph essay instead.

IELTS Essay General Training: Children & the Countryside

Some people believe that children should grow up in the city while others believe the countryside is a better choice.

Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Many think that children ought to be raised in the city, while others feel a rural setting contributes to a better childhood. In my opinion, though living in the countryside allows children to learn a variety of useful skills, the crucial life skill is learned in the city.

Children who grow up in the countryside tend to have a good grasp of many household jobs. In the countryside, it is more difficult and expensive to bring in a maid or handyman for assistance. As a result, many country kids that live on farms or in remote areas must lend a hand in taking care of the livestock, cooking for the family, and undertaking various small repairs around the home. Children living in the city, in contrast, are more likely to get their food from restaurants and spend more time focused on their homework, not taking on an active engagement with the environment around them. Over time, the gulf in terms of what a child from the countryside from city can do widens.

Nonetheless, the city is better for raising children because of the social skills one can learn there. Children from country often find themselves a product of their unique household and struggle to adapt to different social spheres if they move to the city for work. Those who grow up in the city have to interact with other children from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds on a daily basis. In order to do this, they develop greater empathy for others and improve their conversational skills. They may switch from one group of friends to another or interact with adults with diverse occupations and nationalities, all contributing to their social education. The end result is that they grow up with a far keener understanding of how to communicate and connect with people, a skill of singular value.

In conclusion, children in the country learn a number of practical skills but lag behind in terms of social skills. Parents must weigh many competing priorities but if all factors are equal, they should opt for urban life.

write an essay life in the countryside

Topic: Write an essay in English about “ Life in The Countryside” with at least 180 words.

With regards to the talk of the countryside, it is too open. However, let me pick up some very interesting points to talk about. First, the countryside is land that is not in towns or in cities. As we all know, life in the countryside is really simple and peaceful; we do not have to worry about air pollution or traffic jams. However, living in the countryside does not have benefits all the time. It also has some drawbacks. Thus, let me describe some advantages and disadvantages of living in the countryside.

On the plus side, life in the countryside is more relaxed and less stressful than in the cities. For example, we do not have to worry much about traffic jams or traffic accidents. Plus, we do not have to worry about air pollution because most houses in the countryside are surrounded by trees, flowers, and plants. That means the atmosphere around us is all fresh air. Additionally, people in the countryside are all friendly, and they always help each other when they see other people in trouble. Moreover, the countryside brings people peace and harmony. That means it suits those who do not like being noisy as a result of city life.

Even though living in the countryside has a lot of positive sides, there are still some negative sides to living in the countryside, as followed.

First, the rate of unemployment in the countryside is much higher than in the city. Moreover, the countryside is still lacking important places such as police stations, schools, universities, hospitals, supermarkets, department stores, and so on because it is too far from the town. Furthermore, living in the countryside can lower your chances of getting good jobs. Also, the income in the countryside is much lower than in the city. Not only that, in the countryside, there are not so many places for entertaining, such as cinemas, clubs, fancy restaurants, and the like. In addition, internet connection is very limited in the countryside.

In a nutshell, living in the countryside provides a lot of advantages. That is, including having fresh air to breathe, not having too many traffic jams, and living in a natural environment, which is really good for our health. But still, living in the countryside has some disadvantages, such as a lack of needed places and a lower chance of getting well-paid jobs. In my opinion, I would love to live in the city while I am still working and I will move to live in the countryside when I retire, and I personally accept that the people who live in the countryside depend on those who live in the cities or towns, and vice versa.

Short Essay on City Life Vs Country Life

The village way of life is greatly improved and more relaxed than the city way of life. These two unique kinds of living have a ton in contrast; the work market, the climate and surprisingly individuals are the place where the majority of these distinctions could be found.

The work market in the nation is more modest than the work advertised that could be found in the urban communities. In the nation, individuals have their ranch and surprisingly their own stores however in the urban areas individuals are generally working for organizations worked or even claimed by a greater organization. Additionally, in the nation, individuals are more open in trading labor and products as a trade-off for such and in the urban areas it is just the cash that makes all that could be within reach. Genuine feelings of serenity additionally come free in the country basically in light of the fact that there is less to stress and worry about.

The climate in the nation is by a wide margin past examination with the urban communities, there is less contamination, fewer plants and less commotion in the nation; whereas the urban communities are loaded up with vehicles and production lines which are the fundamental motivations to clamor and contamination.

Finally however not least individuals carrying on with the various ways of life in the two urban areas and the nation have a gigantic contrast. Individuals n the nation are not so much pushed but rather more cheerful just on the grounds that there are fewer things in their psyche and life to manage and they likewise will, in general, be all the more cordial towards others, however, individuals in the city have a parcel to manage and it now and again gets over their shoulders and this makes them be warier and once in a while hurt others.

It is with demonstrating the reasons above shown plainly that the country way of life is obviously superior to the city way of life. Yet, then again it is a decision made by individuals dependent on their character and their lifestyle where they might want to settle and live.

Long Essay on City Life Vs Country Life

City life and village life are profoundly different from one another. The two of them have their upsides and downsides dependent on the accessibility of assets, the speed of life and social design. In spite of the distinctions, the two urban communities and towns alongside their occupants are a vital piece of Indian culture.

Everything in this world has it’s in addition to focuses and fewer focuses, its benefits and negative marks, its benefits and hindrances. Nothing is awesome, nothing gives total fulfillment. This is consistent with life in the village and city. Whatever we find in towns isn’t accessible to individuals living in urban communities and similarly what advantages individuals of the city appreciate are far-off dreams for the locals.

Life in urban areas is very different from life in towns. The locals appreciate natural air, grand magnificence, a daily existence liberated from problems and pressure however significantly more remaining parts need to be satisfied. Individuals in urban communities have every one of the conveniences of life accessible to them; they need to address substantial costs for them.

Life in a city enjoys its own benefits, so does life in a town. However, living in a city is more agreeable and helpful it is additionally costly. Dwelling in a city costs you profoundly as far as upkeep, way of life and different requirements. The majority of such costs are superfluous and could well be waved off. This pointless use is missing in towns.

The straightforward town life barely requires anything over a complete dinner two times each day. There is not really any discretionary cash flow, and regardless of whether there is, it is spent astutely on numerous significant things like relationships, houses, and so forth Dissimilar to the urban areas where individuals spend their valuable reserve funds on feasting in inns, purchasing garments even with no capacity or celebration, shopping problematically, and so on

Notwithstanding the comfort, living in a city is superfluously marketed and impacted by outside factors. Town life, then again, is absolutely easy to the center with straightforward appended. It has its own excellence – it gives genuine involvement throughout everyday life, work, individuals, and connections.

City life offers a greater number of solace than the town but at the same time, it’s overwhelmed by numerous commitments that truly don’t make any difference. In urban communities, individuals esteem things more than connections. They judge one another and make relations dependent on common monetary status and materialistic belongings. This egotistical disposition is missing in towns and residents esteem people and connections also materials.

3. I would like to write about the differences and similarities between city life and country life. Both types of lifestyles have positive and negative aspects. First of all, a positive aspect of city life is that there are lots of facilities and activities. For example, you can go to cinemas with friends. You can do sports. However, you cannot find fresh products. In contrast, you can eat organic products in the countryside. Also, people know each other there which is a positive feature of this type of place. 5. CITY LIFE AND COUNTRY LIFE

There are some similarities and differences between city life and country life. First of all, both are beautiful environments to live in. There are cars, houses, hospitals… Despite this, there are a lot of things that are different. Firstly, there are few facilities in the countryside. For example, there are no government offices or hospitals. Villagers have to go to the city centre when they have official or health problems. Unlike cities, it is almost impossible to see museums or high schools in the countryside. Also, there are many facilities in cities such as places for entertainment. Luna parks are an example. On the other hand, the countryside is preferable in that there is a clean environment with clean and fresh air or water. By comparison, as cities are crowded, it is rare to find clean places there. Cities get polluted easily. Traffic is another result of the crowd. It contributes to pollution as well. If I were to choose, I would choose to live in the countryside because I like a clean environment and quiet places.

Here is an extra text on the same topic: An compare and contrast ESSAY on city and country life.

Living in a city or the countryside is a matter of personal choice, as both options have their unique benefits and drawbacks. In this essay, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of living in the city and the countryside.

Living in a city has many advantages. Firstly, cities have lots of facilities, including restaurants, cinemas, shopping malls, and recreational centres. These facilities provide easy access to a range of products and services, making life more comfortable and convenient. Secondly, cities offer lots of activities, such as sports, cultural events, and entertainment. These activities keep residents engaged and entertained, and there is always something new to explore. Lastly, cities have a diverse population, with people from different backgrounds and cultures, which enriches one’s experiences and perspectives.

However, living in a city also has some drawbacks. The first and foremost disadvantage of living in a city is the noise and crowding. The constant buzz of traffic and people can be overwhelming, and it can be challenging to find peace and quiet. Secondly, traffic congestion is a major issue in cities, causing frustration and wasted time. Lastly, pollution is a significant problem in cities, with air, water, and noise pollution impacting residents’ health and quality of life.

On the other hand, living in the countryside also has several benefits. Firstly, the countryside provides fresh produce, such as vegetables and fruits, which are not only healthy but also delicious. Secondly, the countryside is peaceful and quiet, making it an ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Lastly, people in the countryside tend to be close-knit and supportive, creating a sense of community and belonging.

However, living in the countryside also has some drawbacks. Firstly, there are limited facilities, especially medical facilities, making it challenging to access essential services. Secondly, life in the countryside can be monotonous, with few activities or entertainment options, which may lead to boredom. Lastly, the countryside is home to dangerous wildlife, such as snakes and insects, which can pose a threat to residents.

In conclusion, the choice of living in a city or the countryside depends on one’s preferences and priorities. While living in a city offers easy access to facilities and a diverse population, it also comes with noise, traffic, and pollution. On the other hand, living in the countryside provides peace and quiet, fresh produce, and a close-knit community, but it also lacks facilities, can be boring, and has dangerous wildlife. Therefore, one must weigh the pros and cons of each option and make an informed decision.

CITY LIFE AND COUNTRY LIFE

I would like to talk about the similarities and differences between city life and country life. Both types of lifestyles have positive and negative aspects.

First of all, a positive aspect of city life is that cities provide a lot of facilities and social activities. For example, there are hospitals, cafes, and restaurants in cities. You can go to cinemas with friends. There are sports activities for young people and wellness centres for the elderly. You can do sports anytime and anywhere. However, in the countryside, this is not true. In contrast, living in the country is very boring because there are no cinemas or theatres, restaurants or sports activities for people. Also, there are no hospitals in the countryside. Healthcare is extremely limited.

Second, the population in cities is high. In contrast, the population in the countryside is low. Therefore, people know each other which is a positive feature of this type of place. However, many people knowing each other in the countryside is boring as you have to see the same faces and talk about the same things every day. Still, this has a positive side in that people know who to trust when they know each other. By comparison. There is a diversity in the population of cities. That is, you may see different people with different cultural backgrounds. This allows people to learn new things and to be more tolerant of differences.

A third point is that there are lots of vehicles and people in cities so the cities are very noisy and crowded. In a city, the air is polluted because of traffic and industrial facilities. The crowd in cities makes transportation in a city very difficult. Cities can be unbearable because of the noise of cars in traffic. By comparison, the countryside is often quiet and peaceful. The elderly like country life more because they find it calmer and more comforting.

Another difference is that cities are safer because people are isolated from wildlife. Unlike cities, there are many wild animals in the countryside. Moreover, they are dangerous animals. For example, wild boars may attack people in the countryside at any moment. There are many more dangers in villages than in wild animals.

Finally, country life is healthier than city life. You can find or eat organic products, fresh vegetables and fruits in a village. What is more, you can have them in an environment which fresh and clean air. On the other hand, you cannot find fresh products in cities easily.

Overall, cities and villages both have advantages and disadvantages. You may prefer to live in a city or village or choose to live in both places to benefit from the positive aspects of each. The choice is up to you.

Hillary Clinton: I’ve Debated Trump and Biden. Here’s What I’m Watching For.

Facing away from each other, Hillary Rodham Clinton stands onstage on the left and Donald Trump stands on the right.

By Hillary Rodham Clinton

Mrs. Clinton was the Democratic nominee for president in 2016.

Last week I had the time of my life at the Tony Awards introducing a song from “Suffs,” the Broadway musical I co-produced about the suffragists who won women the right to vote. I was thrilled when the show took home the awards for best original score and best book.

From “Suffs” to “Hamilton,” I love theater about politics. But not the other way around. Too often we approach pivotal moments like this week’s debate between President Biden and Donald Trump like drama critics. We’re picking a president, not the best actor.

I am the only person to have debated both men (Mr. Trump in 2016 and, in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race, Mr. Biden). I know the excruciating pressure of walking onto that stage and that it is nearly impossible to focus on substance when Mr. Trump is involved. In our three debates in 2016, he unleashed a blizzard of interruptions, insults and lies that overwhelmed the moderators and did a disservice to the voters who tuned in to learn about our visions for the country — including a record 84 million viewers for our first debate.

It is a waste of time to try to refute Mr. Trump’s arguments like in a normal debate. It’s nearly impossible to identify what his arguments even are. He starts with nonsense and then digresses into blather. This has gotten only worse in the years since we debated. I was not surprised that after a recent meeting, several chief executives said that Mr. Trump, as one journalist described it, “could not keep a straight thought” and was “all over the map.” Yet expectations for him are so low that if he doesn’t literally light himself on fire on Thursday evening, some will say he was downright presidential.

Mr. Trump may rant and rave in part because he wants to avoid giving straight answers about his unpopular positions, like restrictions on abortion, giving tax breaks to billionaires and selling out our planet to big oil companies in return for campaign donations. He interrupts and bullies — he even stalked me around the stage at one point — because he wants to appear dominant and throw his opponent off balance.

These ploys will fall flat if Mr. Biden is as direct and forceful as he was when engaging Republican hecklers at the State of the Union address in March. The president also has facts and truth on his side. He led America’s comeback from a historic health and economic crisis, with more than 15 million jobs created so far, incomes for working families rising, inflation slowing and investments in clean energy and advanced manufacturing soaring. He’ll win if that story comes through.

Some people really prefer to live in the downtown because of its facilities. But I prefer to live in the countryside because of many reasons.

First of all, the life in the city makes me uncomfortable, I cannot bear to live in cramped conditions with the hustles and bustles. We do not have fresh air to breathe, do not have a space for our children to play and for us to relax. It is really tiring and upset to wait for hours because of traffic jams.

Secondly, the pollution because of smogs and dusts and noise can make me feel sick. Moreover, I do not feel safe to live in the city because the criminal situations are rising. , We feel worried when we go out each time.

Thirdly, Nowadays, the conditions of the countryside are better and better, the gap between the cities and the countryside is narrowed day by day.

I love the silence, I love fresh air. I love the good relationships of people. so I love to live in countryside.

In my opinion, living in the countryside brings many good points. First of all, Countryside is less polluted than city. You can enjoy fresh air, clean rivers, peaceful views, and simple life there. Besides, there will be no traffic jams because the main vehicles are bikes, electric motorbikes or walking. Although the roads are small, but you will rarely breathe dirty air or polluted gases. Second, the living cost there is cheaper because almost food are supplied by the locals. It’s estimated that the price in the city is much higher than that of the same food in the country. Noise in the city, which never stops even at night, is always annoying. That’s the reason why country life is the most ideal option. It’s quite, silent and described like a paradise.
