This study aimed to investigate whether significant relationship exists between the affective components of learning such as academic motivation and self-efficacy on demonstrating technical skills among students and their level of academic performance in Exploratory TLE mini-courses. The study is descriptive-correlational in nature, which employed a questionnaire to gather the data. The study found that most of the junior high school respondents were at the approaching proficiency level in terms of dressmaking/tailoring and beauty care services. Meanwhile, most of the respondents were at the proficient level in terms of bread and pastry and production and mechanical drafting. It was also found that a significant relationship exists between students’ academic motivation and their performance in both bread and pastry and production and beauty care services mini-courses. Furthermore, there is a significant positive relationship between the respondents’ self-efficacy and their academic performance in the four TLE mini-courses covered. Based from the findings, a plan of action on strengthening the integration of affective targets in teaching TLE mini-courses could be recommended.

The research aimed to propose a Competency-Based Training (CBT) Facility Workshop Layout in Food and Beverage Services NC ii (FBS NC II). The study employed a descriptive survey design and used a qualitative type of research. Universal Sampling was used as its sampling method where three (3) FBS Trainers were the observation units from different schools offering Food and Beverage Services NC II in Toledo City Division. Face-to￾face interview was executed pertaining to the layout planning with the aid of an unstructured guide questions. It has been found out that the attributes, components, principles of Competency-Based Training (CBT), and characteristics of a CBT Facility Workshop must be considered in designing a layout. Thus, the layout must be designed adhering the aforementioned variables. The proposed CBT Facility Workshop Layout in FBS NC II was designed afterwards in accordance to the findings and conclusion. Above all, it is recommended that: (1) FBS Trainers utilize the proposed layout as basis in designing their own CBT Facility Workshop in FBS NC II; and (2) present the proposed CBT Facility Workshop Layout in FBS NC II to the Department of Education (DepED) for them to utilize the layout for future facility building projects for Food and Beverage NC II ; (3)Stakeholders hand-in-hand with other stakeholders realize the proposed layout contributing to the development of skills of the future professionals.; (4)Future researchers evaluate the artifact and redesign this afterwards; (5) Utilize the standards and data pertaining to the layout planning in designing a CBT Facility Workshop in other qualifications.

The study was conducted to determine the extent of implementation of competency- based program of a technical vocational education in a public high school. The findings of the study served as the basis for skills development performance of the students. Specifically, it had four major purposes: 1) to determine the extent of implementation of competency-based program of a technical vocational education in a public high school. 2) to find out what are the problems and constraints encountered in the implementation of the program.3) to find the significant difference on the extent of implementation of competency-based program of a technical vocational education and the significant difference on the problems and constraints in the implementation of the program as perceived by the two groups of respondents; and 4) to propose programs for the enhancement of competency-based programs in technical vocational education in the said institution. The descriptive method was used to describe the data of the study. A self-made set of questionnaires was devised by the researcher and was validated by the experts to determine its content and eventually subjected to pilot-test to validate its reliability. After finding its reliability, the validated questionnaires were administered by the researcher to the main respondents using the so-called Five-Point Likert Scale. Data gathered were all computerized process, using frequency, percentage, weighted mean, standard deviation, and t-test as statistical tool. The level of significance was set at 0.05. Summary of Findings, Conclusion and Recommendation The findings showed that based on the grand mean of the two groups of respondents of the said public high school, the perception of teachers on the aforesaid variables were achieved at moderate extent with a mean score of 3.50 while the students were achieved at great extent with a mean score of 4.23 . The teacher-respondents perceived that the aforesaid variables were moderately implemented. Findings further implied that the student-respondents perceived that the said program was in greatly implemented. Through t-test, the findings showed that there was significant difference in the perception of the two groups of respondents regarding the extent of implementation of competency-based program in technical vocational education in a public high school. The findings prompted the researcher to conclude that both respondents have unlike perception about the program. The recommendations included 1) Program objectives have to be sustained and updated depending on the change observed from trends in TVET. 2) Teachers should acquire Trainers Methodology/(TM) course for the updating of methodologies with regards to training delivery mode. TVE teachers without National Certificate (NC) should obtain NC II as their minimum eligibility in handling TVE courses in lieu of Philippine TVET Trainers Qualification Framework (PTTQF).3) Dep.Ed and local government should allocate more funds for training facilities, equipment so that the physical aspect program would eventually conform to TESDA training regulation. Learning resources such as textbooks, workbooks, manuals and other items should be updated on its content and relevance to TVE-CBC. Teachers should consider developing appropriate instructional materials to support learning activities. 4) There should be professional development trainings so that teachers can develop their competencies in the implementation of the program .5) Implementers have to develop competence in assessing and evaluating the program that it would provide sufficient and reliable input for the improvement of the program. Further, consultation with TVET expert is needed to prepare implementers with correct response to a more challenging task in the future.

The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship between the effective teaching methods in Technical-Vocational Subjects to the academic performance of the students. The study investigated students’ perceptions of the third year and fourth year BBTE students on the relationship of effective teaching methods to their academic performance. This paper is relevant as the result of the study will help the teachers to identify the teaching methods that could be effective in teaching Technical-Vocational Subjects and will show a good result of their academic performance. Yet, findings revealed that there is no significant relationship between the teaching methods used in teaching Technical-Vocational Subjects to the academic performance of the students. It simply implies that whatever teaching method used by the teacher, it does not affect students’ academic performance. It is still depends on how the students acquire his/ her own knowledge skills and abilities.

Assessment of TLE (Home Economics) and Instructional Facilities as Correlates to Academic Achievement at Tagaytay City Science National High School: Basis for Proposed Development Plan

  • Maribel Bawar

INTRODUCTION

The researcher decided to pursue this study to assess Home Economics students in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). The reason why some of them failed in complying with the required competencies is due to the inadequacy of instructional facilities which, in turn, affects their academic achievement.

Using the descriptive correlational method of research, data were gathered from 173 Grade 9 Home Economics students and 12 TLE teachers teaching Home Economics. The data were interpreted using frequency percentage and weighted mean. For the academic achievement, mean and standard deviation were used, while Chi-square and Pearson r were used to test and determine the extent to which the different variables are related to each other.

Findings revealed that in TLE (Home Economics), students have a highly positive assessment and teachers have a very high positive assessment. These are indications of a positive degree of favorable assessment towards the course. As to the assessment on adequacy of Home Economics instructional facilities, both teachers and students rated that Tagaytay City Science National High School Home Economics instructional facilities are adequate. This means that the instructional facilities in Home Economics are satisfactory in the sufficiency and functionality for an effective teaching and learning environment. Furthermore, findings also showed that students' academic achievement in TLE (Home Economics) is very satisfactory. In general, a significant relationship exists between students' and teachers' assessment of the TLE (Home Economics) course program and its adequacy in its instructional facilities. Likewise, a significant relationship exists between students' and teachers' assessment of TLE (Home Economics) course program to students' academic achievement and assessment on adequacy of Home Economics instructional facilities to students' academic achievement.

DISCUSSIONS

The results imply that both students and teachers better appreciate TLE (Home Economics) if there are adequate instructional facilities, equipment, utensils, and materials. Academic achievement relies on the provision of instructional facilities used in the teaching and learning process and the attitude, interests, and motivation of students and teachers towards learning. The study also recommends that the school adopt and use the Proposed Development Plan as an output of this study to further improve the students' academic achievement.

⭐ What Does a Thesis in Economics Look Like?

A good thesis in economics is a blend between an empirical paper and a theoretical one. One of the essential steps in choosing a topic in economics is to decide which one you will write.

You may write, research, analyze statistical data and other information. Or build and study a specific economic model.

Or why not both!

Here are some questions you can ask when deciding what topic to choose:

  • What has already been written on this topic?
  • What economic variables will my paper study?
  • Where should I look for the data?
  • What econometrics techniques should I use?
  • What type of model will I study?

The best way to understand what type of research you have to do is to write a thesis proposal. You will most probably be required to submit it anyway. Your thesis supervisor will examine your ideas, methods, list of secondary and primary sources. At some universities, the proposal will be graded.

Master’s thesis and Bachelor’s thesis have three main differences.

After you get the initial feedback, you will have a clear idea of what to adjust before writing your thesis. Only then, you’ll be able to start.

You can easily avoid making this mistake by simply choosing one of these topics. Also, consider visiting IvyPanda essays database. It’s a perfect palce to conduct a brainstorming session and come up with fresh ideas for a paper, as well as get tons of inspiration.

📝 How to Select an Economics Thesis Topic

As your academic journey is coming to an end, it’s time to pick the right topic for your thesis. The whole academic life you were preparing to undertake this challenge.

Here is the list of six points that will help you to select an economics thesis topic:

  • Make sure it is something you are genuinely interested in. It is incredibly challenging to write something engaging if you are not interested in the topic. So, choose wisely and chose what excites you.
  • Draw inspiration from the previous student’s projects. A great place to start is by looking at what the previous students wrote. You can find some fresh ideas and a general direction.
  • Ask your thesis advisor for his feedback. Most probably, your thesis advisor supervised many students before. They can be a great help too because they know how to assess papers. Before meeting with your professor, do some basic research, and understand what topic is about.
  • Be original, but not too much. You do not want to spend your time writing about a project that many people wrote about. Your readers will not be interested in reading it, but your professors as well. However, make sure you do not pick anything too obscure. It will leave you with no secondary sources.
  • Choose a narrow and specific topic. Not only will it allow you to be more original, but also to master a topic. When the issue is too broad, there is just too much information to cover in one thesis.
  • Go interdisciplinary. If you find yourself interested in history, philosophy, or any other related topic, it can help you write an exceptional thesis in economics. Most of your peers may work on pure economics. Then, the interdisciplinary approach can help you to stand out among them.

Some universities ask their students to focus on topics from one discipline.

Thank you for reading the article to the end! We hope this list of economics thesis topics ideas could help you to gather your thoughts and get inspired. Share it with those who may find it useful. Let us know what you think about it in the comment section below.
