I loaded a picture into photo shop and used the eliptical selection tool to pick the part of the image I want to keep. How can I get rid of the rest of the image and just save the part I selected?
To remove the remaining portion of the image and save only the part you selected after using the elliptical selection tool in Adobe Photoshop CC, follow these steps: 1. Open the image in Photoshop CC. 2. Select the elliptical selection tool from the toolbar. 3. Click and drag on the image to create an elliptical selection around the part you want to keep. 4. Once the selection is made, go to the "Edit" menu and choose "Copy" to copy the selected portion. 5. Create a new document by going to the "File" menu and selecting "New". Adjust the settings according to your desired output. 6. Paste the copied selection onto the new document by going to the "Edit" menu and choosing "Paste". 7. Position and resize the pasted selection as needed. 8. Save the new document by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Save" or "Save As".
In essence you want to delete the other section, 1. Hold Ctrl + J to copy out selection, ensure you selected the photo in the layers panel. 2. Invert the selection and delete the newly selected area. while the layer is selected, and the elliptical marque tool still selected, right click and select, invert selection, to invert the selection, then press delete or back space to remove the unwanted area.
