IELTS Cambridge Test Books: Essential!

You MUST practice from real IELTS test published by IELTS if you want to prepare fully for your test. And that means getting the IELTS Cambridge test books. Even if you are taking the test on a computer, you should still be preparing from these books.

They are real IELTS tests published by IELTS for you to use at home. Each book contains four IELTS tests. The different numbers are about when they were released. The higher the number, the more recent the tests. But you can use any number as the test as barely changed in years.

  • No student should enter the IELTS exam without having first done some practice tests from one or more of these books.
  • These books have limited topics and questions for the speaking test. You will need to find practice speaking topics on my website. Here’s a link to some free speaking topics and questions for IELTS .
  • Avoid using websites that claim to have full tests. Only use authentic IELTS tests with their authentic answer keys in these books.

Who is this book for? Many students have no ideas or opinions about IETLS writing topics. Even if your grammar is perfect, you will not get a high IELTS score if you do not know what to write. This book is for students who want to go into the writing exam feeling confident that they have excellent ideas, opinions and vocabulary for as many topics as possible How do you get an IELTS score of 7 or higher? The key to a high score is not grammar, it is not your use of words like "moreover" or "in addition", and it is not your use of phrases like "this is controversial issue nowadays". To get a high score you need to use good "topic language" (words and phrases that are related to the question topic). You need good ideas in order to answer the question well. How should you prepare for IELTS writing task 2? There is an enormous amount of advice on my website http://ielts-simon.com. Here is a summary of what I suggest:-Spend more time preparing than testing When you test yourself, you find out what your level is, but you do not learn anything new. You will not improve if you only write test essays. Before writing an essay, study the topic and prepare your ideas, opinions and vocabulary.-Steal my ideas If you only use the vocabulary that you already know, you will not learn anything new, and you will not improve. Practise linking my topic ideas together to write "perfect essays". See the website for examples of how to do this.-Use this book together with the website The website ielts-simon.com contains lessons and videos that show you how to use the ideas from this book. You can speak to me there if you have any questions. Ideas for IELTS topics

The one-hour writing portion of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) consists of two tasks, task 1 and task 2, which evaluate your vocabulary, grammar, word count, collocations, and capacity to create complicated sentences sparingly and effectively.

It is crucial to realise that the IELTS Academic and General Training Tasks have different essay subjects. IELTS Academic Task 1 requires you to create a report using a graph, diagram, or chart; in contrast, IELTS General Training Task 1 requires you to write a letter. Essay writing is the second task in both the General and Academic modules. Although the themes for essays in each module may vary, the approach to producing essays is always the same.

To determine the Academic IELTS Writing Task 1 and Task 2 scores, examiners consider the following factors: Task Achievement, Task Response, Coherence, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, and Lexical Resource.
