It is said that while killing Shishupala, Lord Krishna accidently got his finger hurt. My Favorite Festival Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is my favorite festival. I desperately wait for this festival to arrive. I get very much excited about celebrating this festival. I wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear new clothes. I love to decorate the thali of puja; the thali consists of rakhi, sweets, Diya, and Roli. This thali is used for performing the ritual.

The sister uses to worship her brother and then ties rakhi. She also applies Tilak on the forehead of her brother. Then she makes her brother eat sweet with her own hand out of love. The brother also brings beautiful gifts for his sister. For me, the main reason behind loving this festival is wearing new clothes, applying Mehandi in hand, and getting attractive presents from brothers.

Raksha Bandhan shows immense love among the siblings. It is a festival of exchange of pure love. I love to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and this year too I am eagerly waiting for the festival to arrive as it is my most favorite festival.

According to Vishnu Purana, when the king of Demons ‘Bali’ was told to ask for a boon from Lord Vishnu then he asked him to stay with him in his palace. The Lord accepted the request and started to live in his palace with him. Goddess Lakshmi, wife of Lord Vishnu wanted him to return to his palace. Then she tied the rakhi around the wrist of the Bali and became his sister. The Bali asked for a return gift, and then goddess Lakshmi asked him to free lord Vishnu and let him return to his place Vaikunth. Bali accepted the request and returned lord Vishnu to him.

• Draupadi and Krishna

According to the epic book Mahabharata, once Draupadi tied a Knot around Krishna’s wrist and considered him as her brother, also Kunti tied a knot around Abhimanyu’s wrist before the war to protect him.

• Emperor Humayun and Rani karnawati

Rana Sanga, the king of Mewar, after his death, his wife was running the kingdom of Mewar in the name of her elder son Vikramajeet. My Favourite Festival

Rakshabandhan is my favourite festival. I eagerly wait for this festival throughout the year. On this day, I wear new clothes and eat a lot of sweets. A day before Rakhi, I go to the market with my father and buy the prettiest rakhis for my three brothers and the society watchman uncle. I tie all of the Rakhis, and they give me so many gifts. This year I got my favourite blue cycle from my elder brother and a lot of chocolates from the other three.

I love this festival as I spend my whole day with my brothers who are very busy otherwise. We go to all of my favourite places. In the evening, we go to daycare and distribute sweets among the orphans. The festival is thrilling and exciting, and I always look forward to it.

1. introduction.

Rakshabandhan is made up of two words ‘Raksha’ and ‘Bandhan’. Raksha means Protection and Bandhan means Bond.

It’s one of the prestigious festivals of the Hindu religion. In this festival, the love of sisters for brothers is shown by tying rakhi on their wrists. This festival not only shows the immense love between each other but also highlights the sacred relationship between them. Also, it strengthens the bond between them.

This festival is celebrated every year in the month of Sawan and according to the English calendar, it falls mostly in the month of August.

It’s celebrated with great zeal in India. Sisters eagerly wait for this day. On this day they tie rakhis to their brothers, they pray to God for their prosperous and healthy life. In return, the brothers show love to their sisters and take a vow to perform their duties well.

2. Why do we celebrate Rakshabandhan?

There are many stories behind celebrating the festival of Rakshabandhan in India, but some of them are as follows.

( a ) When Karnavati sought help from King Humayun

It’s the most famous story behind celebrating Rakshabandhan. When the war was going on between the Muslims and the Rajputs, the wife of the king of Chittor, Karnavati who was a widow was scared by Bahadur Shah Zafar, so the queen sent a rakhi to Humayun, pleading for help. Humayun accepted the request and protected her and her subject from Bahadur Shah Zafar.

From that day Humayun accepted the queen as his sister and thus people started celebrating it as a festival.

( b ) King Bali threatens Lord Indra

According to Hindu mythology, when Lord Indra was threatened by King Bali, his wife Sachi tied a bracelet of protection in his hand to protect him from the evil king Bali. As a result, the rise of Rakshabandhan took place.

3. How do we celebrate Rakshabandhan?

The preparations for Rakshabandhan start a week before. Rakhis and sweets shops start setting up in the markets. These shops are most crowded one day before the festival and on the day of the festival.

People buy sweets according to their needs. Sisters start buying Rakhis from the markets. When they tie rakhis to their brothers, first put a piece of cloth on their heads, perform tika, sweeten their mouths with sweets, and ultimately pray for their healthy life.

Additionally, When they tie Rakhis to their brothers, they take a promise from their brothers to protect them.

On the day of Rakshabandhan, there is a lot of crowd in the house because sisters come to their maternal home from their in-laws’ house. Along with this, different types of dishes are prepared in people’s homes, which are enjoyed by all the family members and relatives.

रक्षा बंधन का पर्व विशेष रुप से भावनाओं और संवेदनाओं का पर्व है, यह एक ऐसा बंधन है जो दो जनों को स्नेह की धागे से बांधता है। रक्षा बंधन को भाई - बहन तक ही सीमित रखना सही नहीं होगा बल्कि ऐसा कोई भी बंधन जो किसी को भी बांध सकता है। भाई - बहन के रिश्तों की सीमाओं से आगे बढ़ते हुए यह बंधन आज गुरु का शिष्य को राखी बांधना, एक भाई का दूसरे भाई को, बहनों का आपस में राखी बांधना और दो मित्रों का एक-दूसरे को राखी बांधना, माता-पिता का संतान को राखी बांधना हो सकता है। आज के परिपेक्ष्य में राखी केवल बहन का रिश्ता स्वीकारना नहीं है अपितु राखी का अर्थ है, जो यह श्रद्धा व विश्वास का धागा बांधता है वह राखी बंधवाने वाले व्यक्ति के दायित्वों को स्वीकार करता है उस रिश्ते को पूरी निष्ठा से निभाने की कोशिश करता है।

राखी का त्योहार कब शुरू हुआ यह कोई नहीं जानता। लेकिन भविष्य पुराण में वर्णन मिलता है कि देव और दानवों में जब युद्ध शुरू हुआ तब दानव हावी होते नज़र आने लगे। एक बार दैत्‍य वृत्रासुर ने इंद्र का सिंहासन हासिल करने के लिए स्‍वर्ग पर चढ़ाई कर दी, वृत्रासुर बहुत ताकतवर था और उसे हराना आसान नहीं था। युद्ध में देवराज इंद्र की रक्षा के लिए उनकी बहन इंद्राणी ने अपने तपोबल से एक रक्षासूत्र तैयार किया और इंद्र की कलाई पर बांध दिया। युद्ध में देवराज इंद्र की रक्षा के लिए उनकी बहन इंद्राणी ने अपने तपोबल से एक रक्षासूत्र तैयार किया और इंद्र की कलाई पर बांध दिया।संयोग से वह श्रावण पूर्णिमा का दिन था। लोगों का विश्वास है कि इन्द्र इस लड़ाई में इसी धागे की मन्त्र शक्ति से ही विजयी हुए थे। उसी दिन से श्रावण पूर्णिमा के दिन यह धागा बाँधने की प्रथा चली आ रही है। यह धागा धन, शक्ति, हर्ष और विजय देने में पूरी तरह समर्थ माना जाता है। इतिहास में श्री कृष्ण और द्रौपदी की कहानी भी प्रसिद्ध है, जिसमें जब कृष्ण ने सुदर्शन चक्र से शिशुपाल का वध किया तब उनकी तर्जनी में चोट आ गई। द्रौपदी ने उस समय अपनी साड़ी फाड़कर उनकी उँगली पर पट्टी बाँध दी, और इस उपकार के बदले श्री कृष्ण ने द्रौपदी को किसी भी संकट में द्रौपदी की सहायता करने का वचन दिया था और उसी के चलते कृष्ण ने इस उपकार का बदला बाद में चीरहरण के समय उनकी साड़ी को बढ़ाकर चुकाया। कहते हैं परस्पर एक दूसरे की रक्षा और सहयोग की भावना रक्षाबन्धन के पर्व में यहीं से प्रारम्भ हुई।

ऐसा माना जाता है कि राखी के रंगबिरंगे धागे भाई-बहन के प्यार के बन्धन को मज़बूत करते है। यह एक ऐसा पावन पर्व है जो भाई-बहन के पवित्र रिश्ते को पूरा आदर और सम्मान देता है। रक्षाबन्धन आत्मीयता और स्नेह के बन्धन से रिश्तों को मज़बूती प्रदान करने का पर्व है। रक्षाबन्धन आत्मीयता और स्नेह के बन्धन से रिश्तों को मज़बूती प्रदान करने का पर्व है। यही कारण है कि इस अवसर पर न केवल बहन भाई को ही अपितु अन्य सम्बन्धों में भी रक्षा (या राखी) बाँधने का प्रचलन है। गुरु शिष्य को रक्षासूत्र बाँधता है तो शिष्य गुरु को। भारत में प्राचीन काल में जब स्नातक अपनी शिक्षा पूर्ण करने के पश्चात गुरुकुल से विदा लेता था तो वह आचार्य का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने के लिए उसे रक्षासूत्र बाँधता था। जबकि आचार्य अपने विद्यार्थी को इस कामना के साथ रक्षासूत्र बाँधता था कि उसने जो ज्ञान प्राप्त किया है वह अपने भावी जीवन में उसका समुचित ढंग से प्रयोग करे ताकि वह अपने ज्ञान के साथ-साथ आचार्य की गरिमा की रक्षा करने में भी सफल हो। इसी परम्परा के अनुरूप आज भी किसी धार्मिक विधि विधान से पूर्व पुरोहित यजमान को रक्षासूत्र बाँधता है और यजमान पुरोहित को। इस प्रकार दोनों एक दूसरे के सम्मान की रक्षा करने के लिये परस्पर एक दूसरे को अपने बन्धन में बाँधते हैं। रक्षाबन्धन पर्व सामाजिक और पारिवारिक एकबद्धता या एकसूत्रता का सांस्कृतिक उपाय रहा है।

स्वतंत्रता संग्राम काल में रक्षाबंधन एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता रहा है, जो भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन के दौरान राष्ट्रीय एकता और आत्मनिर्भरता को संरक्षित करता था।

भारत सरकार द्वारा रक्षा बंधन के अवसर पर डाक सेवा पर छूट दी जाती है। इस दिन के लिए खास तौर पर 10 रुपये वाले लिफाफे की बिक्री की जाती है। इस 50 ग्राम के लिफाफे में बहनें एक साथ 4-5 राखी भाई को भेज सकती हैं। जबकी सामान्य 20 ग्राम के लिफाफे में एक राखी ही भेजी जा सकती है। यह ऑफर डॉक विभाग द्वारा बहनों को भेट है अतः यह सुविधा रक्षाबंधन तक ही अपलब्ध रहता है। और दिल्ली में बस, ट्रेन तथा मेट्रो में राखी के अवसर पर महिलाओं से टिकट नहीं लिया जाता है। इसके अलावा और भी प्रदेशों में राखी के दिन महिलाओं के लिए बस की सुविधा फ्री की जाती है।

रक्षाबंधन का पर्व प्रेम और पवित्रता का पर्व है। यह पर्व भाई और बहनों के लिए एक दूसरे की लंबी उम्र और सुखद जीवन की कामना करने का दिन होता है। इस दिन बहनें अपने भाई की कलाई पर राखी बांधती हैं और उनके लंबी उम्र की कामना करती हैं। वहीं भाई उन्हें कोई तोहफा देने के साथ-साथ जीवन भर के सुख-दुख में उनका साथ देने का वादा करते हैं। इस पर्व की वजह से भाई-बहनों के रिश्तों में और मजबूती आती है।

क्षा बंधन मनाने के पीछे की कहानी यह है कि जब यमुना ने यम को राखी बांधी, तो मृत्यु के देवता ने उसे अमरता प्रदान की। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि वह इस भाव से इतने प्रभावित हुए कि उन्होंने घोषणा की कि जो भी भाई राखी बांधेगा और अपनी बहन की रक्षा करने की पेशकश करेगा, वह भी अमर हो जाएगा।

राखी बांधने के बाद बहनें अपने भाइयों को रोली (लाल तिलक), अक्षत और दीपक लगाती हैं। इस अवसर पर बहनें अपने भाइयों की कलाई पर पवित्र धागा बांधती हैं, ऐसा माना जाता है कि इससे भाई-बहन का रिश्ता मजबूत होता है। बदले में, भाई अपनी बहनों को उपहार देते हैं और जीवन भर उनकी रक्षा करने का वादा करते हैं।

इतिहास के पन्नों को देखें तो इस त्योहार की शुरुआत की उत्पत्ति लगभग 6 हजार साल पहले बताई गई है। इसके कई साक्ष्य भी इतिहास के पन्नों में दर्ज हैं। रक्षाबंधन की शुरुआत का सबसे पहला साक्ष्य रानी कर्णावती व सम्राट हुमायूँ हैं।

रक्षा बंधन का शाब्दिक अर्थ रक्षा करने वाला बंधन है। इस पर्व में बहनें अपने भाई के कलाई पर रक्षा सूत्र बांधती हैं और बदले में भाई जीवन भर उनकी रक्षा करने का वचन देते हैं। रक्षा बंधन को राखी या सावन के महिने में पड़ने के वजह से श्रावणी व सलोनी भी कहा जाता है।

• इस तथ्य के पीछे की पूरी कहानी बहुत कम लोग जानते हैं। इस कथा के अनुसार एक बार पतंग उड़ाते समय भगवान कृष्ण का हाथ कट गया। यह देखकर द्रौपदी ने तुरंत अपनी साड़ी से कपड़े का एक टुकड़ा फाड़कर कृष्ण को बांध दिया। बदले में, भगवान कृष्ण ने द्रौपदी को किसी भी परिस्थिति में रक्षा करने का वादा किया। बाद में, भगवान कृष्ण ने चीर हरण के दौरान द्रौपदी की रक्षा की।
