Business is $59.99 per month, or $575.88 (20% less) annually.

Those who opt for the Business membership get 15 InMail messages per month and business insights (including growth and "functional trends"). InMails are messages that are sent directly to other LinkedIn members, even if you're not connected to them.

With a Business membership, you can also view an unlimited number of profiles on the site, see who's viewed your profile, get career insights, and access online video courses.

Sales is $79.99 per month, or $779.88 (19% less) annually.

Sales Navigator professionals get 20 InMail messages per month, as well as the usual "see who viewed your profile" and unlimited profile browsing features. 

They also get sales-specific insights, lead recommendations (including the option to save leads), and advanced searches with a lead-builder.

Hiring (or Recruiter Lite) is $119.95 per month, or $1,199.40 (17% less) annually.

Besides the option to see an unlimited number of profiles and view who checked yours out, Hiring (also called Recruiter Lite) members also get 30 InMail messages per month — the most included with any premium membership. 

You'll also get a more recruiting-friendly design, and advanced search options and smart suggestions that can help you find better job candidates. LinkedIn has never been the shiniest object among its social media peers. However, it’s arguably one of the most valuable websites for career and business development activities, including recruiting talent, applying for jobs, generating leads, getting clients, and networking. So, let’s review its premium plans in this post.

LinkedIn offers free and premium accounts/plans, which over 1 billion people use to maintain online professional profiles in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

I’ve been on LinkedIn since October 18, 2009. I joined the platform because of the hype surrounding it and to expand my online footprint. Since then, I’ve made numerous changes and tweaks to my profile.

I’ve never focused on LinkedIn to make money online, as I have with Facebook and YouTube, because it’s one-dimensional by comparison. Nevertheless, I tried LinkedIn Premium Business to assess how I could use it to grow my digital marketing agency, including gaining leads and clients.

Lastly, you can accumulate InMail message credits monthly, which expire after 120 days .

LinkedIn Premium’s most touted feature is InMail, but is it worth paying for? No, it isn’t worth the expense. Secondly, there are other ways to message and connect with people on LinkedIn or other social apps for free or less money. Here are some methods.

Send a person a connection request and note why you want to connect with them. That’s how I’ve developed many relationships and grown my LinkedIn network.

Add “LION” (LinkedIn Open Networker) to your headline to grow your network faster. A LION is a person who is willing to connect with anyone and everyone on LinkedIn. Alternatively, seek LIONs to expand your networking possibilities.

Review the person’s profile to see what groups he’s joined and request to join those groups. When you become a group member, click on “members” or “see all” (in the top right corner) and search for the person. You’ll likely be able to message that person.

Let recruiters know you’re open to working and seeking opportunities by enabling the profile hashtag #opentowork.

Contact mutual connections, one at a time, for an introduction to the person you want to meet.

Review the individual’s about/intro section for her contact details.

Contact the person through a social media app like Facebook, Messenger, YouTube, or Twitter.

Visit the person’s company and personal website for a contact form or email address.

Subscribe to the person’s newsletter to get his email. For example, one surefire way to contact me is to subscribe to my email list and respond to one of my emails.

Use a sales intelligence and automation platform. Many sales intelligence companies provide email addresses for LinkedIn users, including RocketReach, Clearbit Connect, Hunter, Find That Email, and ContactOut.

My LinkedIn 30-Day Free Trial

I tried LinkedIn Premium for 30 days and chose the Premium Business plan. It was fantastic to see the gold premium icon beside my name. Additionally, I could see who viewed me in the last 90 days and how they found me, for example, on the homepage or through a connection.

I sent a few InMails but didn’t get any replies. However, I did receive messages from people outside my network because I was on a premium plan (InMail works both ways; you can send and receive messages from individuals who aren’t connected to you). I didn’t take any courses on LinkedIn Learning as I prefer to take classes on Coursera .

Is LinkedIn Premium Worth It?

I wasn’t impressed with LinkedIn Premium Business because the additional features, insights, and analytics weren’t as valuable as I had hoped. However, the gold Premium icon made me appear as a professional networker and somebody in the “in” crowd (no pun intended).

You could make the “get one client, and it pays for itself” argument regarding premium business and sales plans. However, that’s a flawed premise because you can get clients without LinkedIn Premium and with free methods, as I have. Therefore, it isn’t easy to justify spending hundreds on a LinkedIn premium plan.

Since I only tried Premium Business, I don’t know how other plans measure up. However, I’m confident salespeople and recruiters can benefit from LinkedIn’s premium services.

Is LinkedIn Premium worth it for job seekers? No, it isn’t. LinkedIn Premium Career comes with a few helpful benefits. However, those features won’t make or break your employment prospects. Secondly, while having a LinkedIn profile is essential for most job seekers, gaining employment requires more than having a premium account. Alternatively, job seekers should learn how to get a job by reading how-to articles, getting advice, rehearsing interviews, networking, etc.

First, many alternative solutions to LinkedIn Premium are more practical and cost-efficient. Secondly, LinkedIn Basic is robust and provides many terrific features to complete activities on a smaller scale. Finally, other products and services can benefit your business just as much.

We have approached the most expensive plan, which starts at $170 per month. This investment may be suitable for individual recruiters or staffing firms. The lineup is divided into 3 different subscription plans : Recruiter Lite, Recruiter Professional Services, and Recruiter Corporate.

Recruiter Lite is the basic plan that provides access to 3rd-degree connections on LinkedIn, 20+ filters for candidate search, a limit of 10 candidate search alerts, and InMail messaging capped at 30 per month. However, it does not offer filters for skill assessments or the ability to add tags to candidates. The pricing for this plan is $170 per month or $1,680 per year. Despite being more expensive than Sales Navigator, it does not include some features that may be important to you.

Recruiter Professional Services is a higher-tier plan that offers access to 3rd-degree connections on LinkedIn, with 30 additional unlocks per month for out-of-network profiles. This means that you will have access to people who are not connected to you. This plan includes:

  • 40+ filters (including advanced filters)
  • The ability to filter candidates by their open availability for contract work
  • Skill assessments, and the ability to add tags for filtering and categorization
  • 100 monthly InMails
  • Job postings
  • 50 candidate search alerts 
  • Recruiting insights
  • Talent pipeline 

However, the exact pricing information is only available by contacting the LinkedIn team.

LinkedIn Recruiter Corporate is the most advanced plan, and it includes all the same features as the previous plan, but with additional options suitable for larger staffing firms. This plan offers the most InMails of all LinkedIn plans – 150 per month. It is also the only plan that provides you access to all LinkedIn users regardless of their level of connection. This means that you can contact anyone, which can be a key factor in recruiting.

The price for this plan is available by contacting LinkedIn, but according to some sources, it is at least $10,800 billed annually or $1,080 per month.

LinkedIn — the social platform that targets the working world — has quietly started testing another way to boost its revenues, this time with a new service for small and medium businesses. TechCrunch has learned and confirmed that it is working on a new LinkedIn Premium Company Page subscription, which — for fees that appear to be as steep as $99/month — will include AI to write content and new tools to grow follower counts, among other features to raise the profiles of the company using them.

The move is significant because it underscores how Microsoft-owned LinkedIn continues to diversify its business model — while also trying to make itself more useful overall. For years LinkedIn has been the butt of many a joke about how it can feel like a cesspool of shameless self-promotion, or (cue nervous laughter) creepy when you realize the amount of data it can gather about what you do on there.

But as others have pointed out , LinkedIn has a prime opportunity right now. With so many changes underfoot on other social platforms and search engines — where advertising and other algorithms dictate what users discover, and where disinformation runs riot — LinkedIn has been looking to carve out a safer space, a place to have a social profile of record for the professionals and prosumers out there.

LinkedIn quietly started to post information describing its new Premium Company Page six days ago. The posts got almost no notice, but we stumbled on it ourselves, and it seems a marketing consultant did, too . Now LinkedIn has confirmed the details to TechCrunch.

“We’re always exploring new ways to enhance our customers’ experience and assist them in achieving their business goals. Currently, we’re testing a new offering with small-to-medium business customers, called Premium Company Page, which is designed to help them attract customers, build credibility, and stand out to their audience. We look forward to sharing more soon,” said Suzi Owens, senior director of communications at LinkedIn, in a statement.

Pricing for premium company pages is not immediately disclosed, but it appears admins of pages that are eligible for it can see it. This marketing consultant notes that the fees start at $99.99 per month per Page, reducing to $839.88 per Page for an annual subscription.

This new premium company page is the latest in a growing list of premium offerings that LinkedIn has crafted for organizations on the platform, mirroring the different usage and pricing tiers that it has built out for individuals and recruiters using the platform.

Other business-focused tiers include Premium Career for people on the job hunt, Premium Business for business intelligence, Sales Navigator for sales teams, Recruiter tiers for sourcing and hiring talent and LinkedIn Learning for professional development.

Taken together, Premium services are very big business for the company. In March, the company announced that Premium user subscriptions grew 25% year-on-year to $1.7 billion in 2023. Overall, the company made $15 billion that year, with its recruiting business accounting for $7 billion of that.

The Premium Company Page subscription in some ways will look very familiar, in that it taps into well-known LinkedIn mechanics.

Admins for the pages can review recent visitors — if those visitors have not turned off the privacy setting, that is. (Public service reminder: it’s on by default.) This can be used to subsequently invite those visitors to follow the page, regardless of their degree of connection (that previously would have been impossible to do for casual visitors who are not already connected within one degree of the company). Admins can also create “call to action” buttons with contact or website details displayed prominently at the top of the Page. Testimonials, which LinkedIn has really promoted as a feature on profile pages for individuals, also get a push here: Admins can display these prominently at the top of their premium pages.

The AI writing help, meanwhile, becomes one of the latest ways that LinkedIn is weaving more AI assistance into the platform, something it started to introduce last year , tapping Microsoft’s ties to OpenAI.

Last but not least, with LinkedIn big on verification lately, a Page can get a golden badge with a premium subscription.
