Table of Contents

Essay on My Favourite Season Winter

Winter is the best of all seasons and I like this season the most. December, January and February are the three winter months. The weather at this time is very pleasant. In this season we can work hard but do not get tired. We put on warm clothes and enjoy the bright sunshine. The nights are very cold. The night in a warm bed under a quilt is very comfortable.

Paddy is harvested in this season. Colourful seasonal flowers grow in gardens. Fish, vegetables and fruits are also available in plenty in this season. They are very cheap also. This is the most suitable time for holding picnics in the open air. We can go out and hold excursions in winter.

Various types of fairs are held and festivals like Saraswati Puja, Christmas, and New Year’s Day are celebrated in this season. While we enjoy the cool comfort of the winter, the poor people suffer a lot during these months. They do not have warm clothes to protect them from cold. Overall I love this season very much.

My Favourite Season Summer Essay

Of all the six seasons, my favourite season is summer. It is the hottest season of the year. The summer season starts in March and ends in June. In this season the sun shines brightly. The best part of this season is summer vacation. This is a great relief from a hectic schedule, home works, and exam pressure. I enjoy the vacation by going to a beach or a hill station with friends and families. In summer I like to have cold drinks, lassi, ice cream, and coconut water.

We get many fruits in this season like mango, watermelon, litchi, jackfruit, pineapple etc. Many festivals such as charak puja, Rama Navami, Baisakhi, Rabindra Jayanti, etc. are celebrated in this season. There are varieties of fruits and vegetables available during this season. Many beautiful flowers like Lilly, Marigold, Roses, Dahlia, and Sunflower bloom in this season. Summer is just a wonderful season with so much fun and enjoyment.

My Favourite season Rainy Season

The season I like most is the Rainy season or monsoon. In India, this season begins in mid-June and ends in early September. Rainy season comes after the scorching heat of summer season and gives us relief. Clouds float here and there in the sky. Lightning and thunder occur frequently. People can be seen with umbrellas and raincoats. Dry rivers and lakes become full.

Farmers plough their fields. Children become very happy. They make paper boats and dance in the rain. A variety of fruits, vegetables, and crops grow in this season. Beautiful flowers blossom in this time. Beautiful rainbows can be seen in the sky.  This season brings a lot of festivals like Raksha Bandhan, 15th August, Teej, Janmashtami, etc. We can enjoy various types of dishes in the rain.

But sometimes heavy rainfall brings the flood. Flood causes many to lose their lives, houses, and livelihood. On the other hand, if there is no rainfall for a long time, drought can occur. This causes extensive damage to crops. So, the Rainy season is an important season for us.

India is a land of seasons. Six seasons come and pass away here. Autumn, however, appears to me the most charming season of all. It covers roughly two months-September and October. Our earth looks fresh and bright with its coming. The cloudy sky and the rainy weather are over in autumn. A deep blue sky smiles and the sun shines brightly. Nature is adorned with grace and charms. The natural beauty of the season is greatly appealing to me.

Autumn is dear to me for another important reason. This is the season for the greatest Bengali festival-the Durga Puja. This is the festival of joy and happiness. It makes one happy. I enjoy in it the happiness of the season.

My Favourite Season Autumn Essay

During the rainy season, the sky remains overcast with clouds. Rains fall continually. But, with autumn, the clouds are no more. A deep blue sky spreads, like a deep blue sea. The white patches of clouds float like little fairy boats.

The day looks golden with the sun shining. The night has a silvery moon, with its silvery luster. The millions of stars, too, sparkle. Now and then, rain begins to fall thick and fast. But then suddenly the rain stops and, again, a deep blue sky smiles. In autumn, the rivers are full to the brim. The fields are all green and golden with crops. Men and women are busy among them, reaping the harvest. Nature and man seem to unite in one mood of peaceful gladness. Autumn is my favourite season.

Feature image of Short Essay on My Favourite Season

My favourite season of the year is summer. It begins in April and ends in June. During the summer season, days are long and nights are short. The skies are clear and the sun is bright. We get month-long summer vacation and can stay at home with our parents and family without having to worry about school. We usually go to visit our grandparents in the village during the summer season.

In the village, I get the opportunity to play with the neighbourhood kids in mango and guava orchards that surround my grandparents’ place. They teach me new games and I always have a great time with them. Summer is also the season of mangoes. We get to eat so many varieties of juicy, delicious mangoes.

My favourite season of the year is winter. The Winter months are very cold as the temperature drops low. It also snows in the northern, high-altitude parts of the country. We wear a lot of warm clothes and eat hot foods to keep us warm. Our metabolism increases during the winter season and thus, we can eat a lot of delicious food. Hot drinks like tea, coffee and hot chocolate are also welcomed.

During the winter season, we usually go on a week-long vacation to hill stations to enjoy the snow. I make snowmen with my parents and siblings and go ice staking as well. There, at night, we create small bonfires to warm ourselves and chit-chat with each other. Winter is also the season of festivities as we celebrate Diwali, Christmas and New Year in winter.

My mother always bakes cakes for us on Christmas and they are warm and delicious. When I don’t have school, I like staying in bed covered in a thick quilt and reading my favourite storybooks. I also go out to play cricket and badminton with my friends every afternoon as it warms my body and keeps me active. Due to the cold weather, we don’t sweat much and can play for a long time. Because of all these reasons, I like the winter season.

Out of the four predominant seasons, my favourite is the monsoon or the rainy season. It starts to rain heavily all over the country by July. As it rains, the water washes away all the dust from plants and trees, making them look green and beautiful again. As the rain hits the dried-up ground, the smell of wet earth fills the atmosphere and makes our hearts dance.

New seedlings begin to sprout and grasses and plants begin to grow all around us. Our surroundings are covered in green and look very mesmerising. As India is an agricultural country, the rainy season is very important for us. Rains irrigate fields and help crops grow. Without rain, most of our major crops will fail, causing loss of business and even starvation. As my grandparents and uncles are farmers, I have experienced the joy that the rainy season brings to farmers very closely.

I also like the rainy season because when it rains heavily, I do not need to go to school. Sometimes, even my parents take leave and then our whole family gets to enjoy the day together. My mother makes delicious fritters with tea which we enjoy while playing board games like ludo and carrom. My father is very fond of flowering plants and we have a lot of plants in our garden. During the rainy season, our garden looks majestic with hundreds of blooming flowers in many different colours.

My friends often come over to my house and we enjoy playing in the garden when the rain stops. We make paper boats and put them in water puddles. Sometimes, we also compete to see whose boat would go farther. Sometimes our parents allow us to go outside when it is raining and then, we enjoy jumping in puddles, getting drenched and playing in rain. It is very fun to play in the rain. After that, my mother makes hot soup for us to warm us up.

When it rains at night and electricity is cut, we get to enjoy our food in candlelight. After dinner, we go straight to bed and tell each other ghost stories. I and my siblings always try to scare each other. When it rains for days, I like to sit by the window and read my favourite books while watching the rain. The rainy season is very special for me and when it ends in September, I wish for it to come quickly next year.

1. What's your favourite season?

Transcript item.

Tina: So I've got to say I love all the seasons. Am I allowed to say that? I know that's a bit cheeky because you're meant to just say about one. But spring, I just love it when the sort of the flowers start coming out and all the buds in the trees and all the blossom. Summer, just a bit of warmth, a bit of sun on your face is just glorious. And swimming in the sea, can't beat it. Autumn, you cannot beat the colours in the trees, especially in the UK and Europe. They're just a delight. And then winter, I love it when it's sort of crispy in the morning, clear blue skies and you can see your breath coming out of your mouth, but you're all sort of cosy with lots of winter clothes on. So yeah, gotta say, love all the seasons that we have.

Kevan: My favourite season is winter. I love the snow and I love it when I get the chance to go up in the mountains and do some snowboarding.

Elena: My favourite season is spring because the weather is perfect for doing every activities outside such as having a walk in the park or also some trips. And the days are longer and the flowers are blooming, so that is why I really love this season.

Joanne: My favourite season has got to be summer. I really love warm, sunny weather, going to the beach and being on holiday.

Sally: I think all the seasons have, like, positive things about them, but for me I think that autumn is my favourite season, and the reason I'm saying that is because I was in Britain in the north of England recently in autumn, and it was amazing. I went for a walk in the woods and there were leaves, all the leaves had fallen off the trees and they were all different colours like red, orange, yellow, sort of golden-brown colours, and it was misty and it was drizzling, sort of that really fine rain, and it was fantastic. If you're wearing the right clothes, it doesn't matter if it's cold and raining. I love it.

Joanna: When I lived in Brazil, I lived in Fortaleza, and it's near the equator, so there were no seasons. And I had the most amazing year of sunshine. It was summer every day. But at the end of the year, I decided I actually quite missed the seasons. I do like the change of seasons. But I'd love to hear from some of our learners on LearnEnglish who live in countries where they don't have seasons. How's that?

Listen to some of our colleagues and friends talking about their favourite season.

Here are some of the things they said:

  • Warm, sunny weather
  • Clear blue skies
  • The flowers are blooming and the days are longer.
  • It was misty and drizzling ... that really fine rain.
  • I love it when I get the chance to go up into the mountains.
  • A bit of sun on your face is just glorious!

We'd love to hear from you

Hello everyone, I´m from Germany and I really love all seasons. At the end of each season I´m looking forward to the next one with all it´s typical changes. So, live is never boring. Once I stayed on the Canary Island Lanzarote for one years. It was an interesting year and I have learnt a lot. But at the end of my stay I realised that I wouldn´t like to live there permanantly because Lanzarote has no seasons and I would really miss them.

Hi everybody, I’m Isa from Italy. My favourite season is autumn. Where I live, the weather in this season is still enjoyable. It’s not too hot and not too cold. The beaches and the other places of holiday are no longer crowded and this is very pleasant. I live in countryside and the colours of the nature are very beautiful. Autumn is also the season of grape harvest: this is a very interesting experience.

Hi to everyone! ;)

Personally, I think all seasons are beautiful! I like all the seasons but more winter because you can stay in near the fireplace and drink hot chocolate when you're watching a film, you can use warm clothes and depend on where you live there can snow, I live in Spain, so I cannot see the snowed landscape. Also in the summer you can eat ice cream, go to the beach and use dresses. I don't like to use short clothes because my skin is a little strange, and I'm uncomfortable with t-shirt and shorts, but I like summer because my birthday is on summer and I like eating ice cram haha. In spring, here are very beautiful landscapes, right now I'm on spring, there are a lot of flowers, the leaves of the trees are more green and is nice go to visit to Japan to see the Sakura's trees, I never went there, but I know the Sakura's trees are in Japan. And the last one, Autumn, I think is the underrated season, I like the orange leaves on the ground, and you can step on them, it's very funny, specifically if you're a child!

That's all, thanks for reading! (sorry for the bad grammar, I'm not native English ;( )

Hi wenxi.zhu,

Thank you for your interesting message! I also like the variety of all the seasons. I live in a place with four quite distinct seasons, like you described, and when it's cold I look forward to the summer and when it's too hot I look forward to the winter.

No need to say sorry! This is a space for learning and practising and you did well :)

We live in Sweden and all agree that summer is the best! You can sit out in the sun, cycle and swim in the lakes and sea. There are wildflowers everywhere and it never gets dark! Greetings from Kalix, Sweden.

I´ve lived in Puerto Rico 20 years ago and spent a really great time living there. It´s a very beautiful insland. However, all the time I´ve spent there, I had the sensation that nothing was changing, the weather was always the same. I realised I was just missing cold, due to I was born in Poland, when there are 4, very well distinguished, seasons, and the lack of cold was the reason I was feeling a bit strange :)

My favourite season is actually autumn, time between heat and cold, a bit of sun plus bit of rain. Just a perfect season.

I have been living in the Philippines since birth and we don't have the four seasons here just like in the European and American countries. What we do have here are the dry and wet seasons. Between those two, I like the dry season more because I can do the things that I need to do unlike when it's raining or wet season, I am just staying at home to avoid getting wet. It's a hassle for me. Giving the chance to explore and travel to countries with four seasons, I like to experience winter because it looks so magical!

My favorite is summer, because I like the warm, the sun, I get more willing and I enjoy a lot.

I have been living in Myanmar since I was born and have passed through many different seasons. Myanmar has three main seasons: summer, monsoon, and winter. My favorite season so far is winter when the weather is cool and chilly. Though there is no snowfall in Yangon where I live, I love it being misty and seeing my breath coming out of my mouth. I prefer winters in my childhood to those in the current time as it used to be colder years ago. However, winter is still my favorite season and I want to experience snowfall one day.

I think my favorite one is Spring. In Spring I can see flowers are blooming under the sun and  the temperature is warming that make me comfortable. Also I can do some activities like cycling , playing badminton and flying kites in the evening.

I live in Indonesia, and in Indonesia we don't have autumn spring and winter, we just have summer and rainy, but now with the climate change rainy is the most happens, but still i love rainy days as long as it come in the weekends hehe

But for summer i love it too, summer here can be so hot, in every Indonesia's part have a different temperature, so we kind a have "love hate relationship" with the season here in Indonesia. But i don't know i never doing a survey though, maybe some Indonesians love summer, maybe some love rainy, for me i just trying to relish it

Hi Brian_503854,

Thanks for sharing! I know what you mean. I don't like the cold so much, and during the winter I always look forward to the spring when the days become warm again and the sun shines. The weather is beautiful at the moment, where I live.

How about you? What's your least favourite season?

My least favorite season is summer. It's sizzling hot and humid during summer here. On that season, I am very easy to feel unpleasant and get lost my temper. I know that's my fault but, I guess it's due to the hot weather somewhat.

I'm from Denmark where we have four sesons, and every one of them can be special. Right now we have spring, and i love to see the grass growing and hear the birds start singing again. The days getting longer, and I really enjoy the energi there comes from the sun and the power it gives to everything there might grow in this time of the year.

I feel the same! I'm so happy to see the plants and flowers in the park growing and blossoming. The other day I saw some birds building new nests, which was really nice. I also feel energised by the nature around me.

How's the weather now where you are?

I live in the Netherlands and here we have four seasons in one day.

That must make it difficult to prepare for your day ahead :) Is it like that just at the moment, or all year round?

Hi PhyuThwal034,

That's nice, it seems like you are pretty active in winter! What is the temperature like in winter, where you are? How cold does it get? For me, I often just stay at home as much as I can.

I live in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, and my favorite season is spring, I am an athlete who likes surfing, kite surfing and hang gliding, and at this time here in Rio de Janeiro the weather conditions are very favorable with lots of thermals (hang gliding), wind (kite surf) and waves....

I'm from the Philippines, here we have two weather either sunny or rainy, I love both of them, but the most I love sunny day, since I love Hiking, and trekking.

My favorite season is the summer because the weather is warm, and I love traveling to the beach and enjoy the sea, my kids love swimming in the pool. The weather is perfect for a vacation.

Hi everyone, I live in Costa Rica

I live in Nigeria and we have 3 seasons in Nigeria.

https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/8ttc3rawyy9wgj42

I live in Georgia, so my country has all 4 seasons. And I love them all because each one is beautiful in its own unique way.

But my favorite season is a spring.

Spring is a time when nature is getting alive, and I am also getting alive with them.

The spring is bringing life to the nature, and I am also becoming a part of it.

On a spring morning, it is impossible not to get up early and enjoy the singing of birds.

Hi! In my country, there are only two seasons: summer and winter. I love winter, this season is incredible because the wind blows, the leaves on the trees move and the day is cool most of the time. Besides, it's a good time to wear warm clothes.

Actually i have two favourite seasons one is winter because it´s cozy and i like cold weather a lot. And I also do like spring, because then the days are longer.

I think all seasons are beautiful but my favorite season is spring. the days are longer, the temperature is good, not too hot. life is sweet.

My favorite season is summer. In summer my parents are usually in their annual leave, so I can spend a lot of time with them. Futhermore I love sea, I love to visit different historical places like museums. In summer I have more chance to do my favorite activitie.

Hello everyone! I live in Spain and my favorite season is autumn. Here, in Spain, the temperature is magnificent: the sweltering heat disappears (I hate summer), and is not too cold, and the colors of nature are beautiful.

Hello, everyone. I live in Japan. First of all, my answer is that I cannot decide the best season, specifically my country. Let me explain in more detail! In my country, there are all four seasons. And there are different temperatures even though within the same country. The most northest city's winter season temperature is - 3 or -4 (Maximum). On the other hand, the most southest place's winter season temperature is 18 or 19 (Maximum). Japan is a small island, but it is a different environment to live in each district, especially in temperature!

Therefore, there are a variety of things in all four seasons such as going skiing, seeing blooming cherry blossom trees, climbing mountains with beautiful colourful leaves, and taking a hot spring with wild monkeys (sometimes!) . So I like all seasons at the same time I cannot decide on one specific season.

I love autumn,  it is nice season, I feel it is like sane persone, moderate in every thing, heat, cold, wind, it is peaceful season.

I live in São Paulo -Brazil, and my favourite season is Autumn, because the sky uses to be blue without clouds, the temperature is warm, and there´s no rain constantly. We wears hoodies with sunglasses! It´s a very nice days to take a walk on the parks. When I lived in Italy, my favourite season was Summer, because people loves to enjoy outside, and there may ways of to refresh, drinking an Aperol Spritz, or going to the beach on Sardegna.

Since I love the sea, and swimming in the sea, my favorite season is summer. By the seaside, the match between the clear blue sky and the deep blue sea is a wonderful sight. I am also keen on spring, with blooming flowers and longer days, warm and sunny weather over cold seasons,  even if the downside is when it is too hot. As Tina said: "swimming in the sea, can't beat it"

Essay on My Favourite Season Winter

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Favourite Season Winter in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on My Favourite Season Winter

Introduction.

Winter is my favourite season. It brings a sense of calm and serenity, wrapping the world in a blanket of white snow.

Beauty of Winter

Winter’s beauty is unmatched. The snowflakes falling gently, covering everything in white is a breathtaking sight.

Winter Activities

Winter brings fun activities like building snowmen, ice-skating and sipping hot cocoa. These activities make it even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, winter is a season of joy, beauty and fun activities. It’s a time when nature takes a peaceful nap, only to wake up more vibrant in spring.

250 Words Essay on My Favourite Season Winter

Winter, the coldest season of the year, is my favourite season. It is a season that not only brings a chill in the air but also warms the heart with its serene beauty. It’s the season of tranquility, celebrations, and introspection.

The Aesthetic Appeal

Winter is an artist’s dream, painting the world in white. The naked trees cloaked in snow, the rooftops covered in a blanket of white, and the lakes frozen into a glassy surface make for a breathtaking spectacle. The landscape undergoes a dramatic transformation, turning into a picturesque tableau that captivates the heart and stimulates the mind.

The Joy of Festivities

Winter also brings with it an array of festivities. The joy of Christmas, the excitement of New Year’s Eve, and the charm of Valentine’s Day are all encapsulated in this season. These occasions provide an opportunity for us to connect with our loved ones, share warmth, and create lasting memories.

Time for Introspection

In the hustle and bustle of life, winter provides a pause. The long nights and short days are a reminder of the cyclical nature of life. It is a time for introspection, for reassessing our goals and aspirations. It’s a time to cozy up with a good book, reflect on the past year, and plan for the forthcoming one.

In essence, winter is not just a season; it’s a feeling. It’s a time of beauty, celebration, and reflection. It’s my favourite season because it offers an unparalleled charm, a quiet introspection, and a warmth that lingers even in the coldest of days.

500 Words Essay on My Favourite Season Winter

Winter, my favourite season, is a time of tranquillity and serenity. It’s the season when nature takes a long pause, a rest from the vibrant life of spring and summer, and the gradual decay of autumn. It’s a season that speaks of introspection, of cozy nights in front of the fire, and of the beauty of the landscape transformed by snow.

The Aesthetics of Winter

Winter is a season that transforms the world into a monochrome wonderland, where everything is covered in a blanket of white. The stark contrast between the white snow and the bare, black trees is a sight to behold. Snowflakes, each unique and intricate, fall from the sky, creating a sense of peace and tranquillity. Winter’s beauty lies in its simplicity, in the way it simplifies the world into basic shapes and colors, stripping away the complexities of life.

Winter’s Solitude and Silence

The silence of winter is another aspect that makes it my favourite season. With the hustle and bustle of life momentarily paused, one can truly appreciate the quietness that winter brings. The silence is not empty, but rather full of potential, like the quiet before a symphony begins. This solitude and silence offer a chance for introspection, for contemplation, and for personal growth.

Winter’s Festivities and Traditions

Winter is also a time for traditions and celebrations. The festive season brings with it a sense of togetherness and community. Celebrations like Christmas and New Year bring families and friends together, creating a sense of warmth and love that contrasts with the cold outside. The joy of giving and receiving gifts, the excitement of decorating the Christmas tree, and the anticipation of the New Year make winter a season of joy and happiness.

Winter’s Invitation for Coziness

Winter also invites us to experience the simple pleasures of life. The cold weather encourages us to stay indoors and enjoy the warmth and comfort of our homes. It’s a time for reading books by the fireplace, drinking hot cocoa, and watching the snowfall outside the window. It’s a time for cozy sweaters, warm blankets, and comfort food. The cold outside makes the warmth inside even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, winter is my favourite season for its beauty, tranquillity, and the opportunities it offers for introspection and personal growth. It’s a season that encourages us to slow down, appreciate the simple things in life, and spend quality time with our loved ones. Despite its cold and harsh exterior, winter carries a warmth within it, a warmth that comes from the heart. It’s a season that teaches us about resilience, about the beauty in simplicity, and about the joy of being with the ones we love. So, while winter may be the coldest season, for me, it is also the warmest.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Steps To Follow: Essay On ‘My Favourite Season: Spring’ For Lower Primary Classes

10 lines on ‘my favourite season: spring’, short paragraph on ‘my favourite season: spring’ for kids, essay on ‘my favourite season: spring’ in english for children, what will your child learn by writing about spring.

Children love to observe nature and experience various seasons with unique things to look forward to. They have seasons they love, and seasons they dislike for various reasons. Spring is a significant season in many cultures as it marks the harvesting time for agriculture. This season is full of celebrations. Spring is the season that comes between winter and summer. It is a time when the weather is neither too cold nor too hot. There is a cool breeze, and abundant beauty in nature as all the plants are in full bloom. Most people love spring for the freshness and joy it brings to them every day. Children are close to nature as they play in gardens and open grounds where they observe plants, flowers and greenery. They also love spring as only a few weeks away from their summer vacations!

When asked to write an essay on this season, children will have plenty of points in their imagination. Let us guide them to pen down their thoughts into a well-structured essay for classes 1, 2 and 3.

Here are important tips for writing an essay about spring:

  • This is a topic where children are free to get as imaginative as they like. However, it is important to include some facts about the season to maintain a proper context throughout.
  • An essay in 10 lines can talk about all the good things that people enjoy about spring.
  • Always start long essays with an introductory paragraph.
  • Touch upon different aspects of spring, such as its cultural and environmental significance.
  • Try not to get into too much scientific detail about the topic.

A small essay on spring is an opportunity for children to use their imagination. They can write it in the form of points without having to create a structure. Here is an example of a 10-line essay for classes 1 and 2:

  • Spring is a wonderful season, and I love it more than all the seasons in the year.
  • Springs fall between winter and summer. It starts at the end of February and ends in April in India.
  • The winter chill is gone during spring, and we get the most pleasant breeze all day.
  • Spring is also the season when the trees in my neighbourhood begin to grow new leaves and flowers.
  • Spring is significant as a time of new growth and happiness that brings positivity into our lives.
  •  It is the time when we celebrate the new harvest season.
  • The blossom in spring makes the landscape beautiful and lush green.
  • I love the warm morning sunshine of spring as it brings warmth and comfort.
  • Spring is also the month just before the fun summer vacation begins.
  • Every day of spring is a blessing that we must cherish.

A short paragraph on the topic requires children to maintain clarity and continuity in writing. This helps them develop the skill to write long-form essays. Here is a short essay on spring as an example:

Spring is a pleasant and colourful season and is my favourite of all the seasons. It is the period between winter and summer when the temperature just begins to warm up. During spring, the climate is neither too cold nor too hot, which makes it the perfect season. It is the season when we can enjoy the sunshine.

In nature, spring is the time when trees and plants begin to grow new leaves. The landscape wherever you go is lush green and welcoming. It is the perfect season to go for a short vacation. Spring will always be my most special season as it is the time I always have the most fun and make the best memories. Every year I long for the return of spring so I can spend days enjoying the best weather.

A long essay on spring can dive deeper into aspects of the season. However, it is important to maintain a narrative and continuity. Here is an example essay for class 3 on Spring:

Spring is a favourite season for most people. It is a time when the days change from extremely cold to warm and comfortable temperatures. Spring is when the season transitions from the long and cold winter to the sunny summer. This change affects not only the activities of people but also jumpstarts all other life forms around it. The plants and trees grow new leaves, animals breed and have offspring, and nature gets a fresh new makeover. For farmers, it is the time to harvest fresh produce and start sowing new crops for the coming season.

Spring is celebrated as a season of growth and hope across many cultures. While the northern and southern hemispheres experience spring around different times of the year, the experience of the season remains the same. This is also a good time for people to go on vacations and enjoy the most pleasant weather the year has to offer.

Spring is a season of a complete renewal in a literal sense and emotionally and spiritually. People can look hopefully towards the year ahead as the nights get shorter and the days get longer and warmer.

These sample essays on the spring season are meant to act as a reference for children in the lower grades. Essay writing is an important skill in school, and it needs to be cultivated systematically. Children learn how to write essays on the winter topic and learn important facts about the season by going through these examples.

Spring is a favorite season among children. It is pleasant and welcoming both in terms of the weather and the natural beauty all around. In these essays, children learn how to write about their thoughts and experiences in their own words. They can use the facts and perspectives presented here to come up with their own ideas.

English Summary

My Favourite Season Autumn Essay

Autumn is one of the four major seasons in a year. Autumn changes the season from summer to winter because it falls between them. Autumn falls at different time in different part of the Earth.

In our country, this season falls from the month of September to November. Every season has its own features. Autumn is also known as ‘fall’ because the leaves from the trees start falling in Autumn. Due to lack of rain, leaves start drying up and then they fall and the new leaves come up in winter.

In Autumn everything turns from green to yellow. Trees and grass become yellow in colour and the fallen leaves cover the face of the earth. Autumn has its own unique beauty.

Animals start preparing for winter in this season. Some birds like Cuckoos migrate to warmer places. Small animals like squirrels and mouse start storing food. In winters, they do not come out from their holes and eat the stored food only. Animals like Bears, Turtles etc find a warm place where they can hibernate in winter.

Autumn season is a great season for growing vegetables and fruits. Carrot, Cauliflower, Beans, Apples, Grapes, Oranges are the gifts of this season. In our country, festivals like Durga Puja and Garba are celebrated in Autumn.

This season shows a totally new face of nature. The weather in this season is loved by all because it is moderate. Autumn season teaches us that even if the leaves fall, new leaves will take their place one day.

Introduction

All seasons have unique features. We are blessed to enjoy four seasons in India. Among all seasons everybody loves to enjoy a particular season as their favourite season.

Spring Season is My Favourite Season

I love the spring season. It is experienced before the onset of the summer season. After the winters are over, the light warmth feeling gives us the essence of the spring season. This season is characterized by the chromatic beauty of nature. The morning in the spring season is very enchanting full of creeping sounds of different birds and winds laden with the scent of flowers and fruits. The small buds give rise to a new plant. Different plants and trees bloom with the flowers. The hibernating birds and animals start coming out of their deep sleep. The activities of searching for food and reproducing are regained. Some trees and flowering plants are filled with flowers.

I love spring season as the temperature in the spring season become very pleasant. The soft blowing winds are soothing. I could wear colourful clothes with prints of flowers. During this season nature around us seems colourful and lively. My birthday also falls in this season only. It becomes a boon for me.

Spring season brings the thought of doing something new. It is filled up with enthusiasm. The spring season favours the growth and rebirth of seeds and plants. We can also observe babies of animals born during this season e.g. young puppies, chicks and ducklings. They are little ones and are filled with cuteness.

I enjoy the spring season most of all seasons. I wish that season would be of longer duration.

Essay 2 (400 Words) – My Favourite Season: Summer Season

India is a country of diverse climatic conditions. People living here enjoy the characteristics of different seasons. All the seasons have certain specialties.

I eagerly wait for the arrival of the summer season as it is my favourite season of all other seasons. The summer season generally starts in April and ends in June. It is followed by the rainy season. Summer is the hottest season, but then also I greatly love this season. The main thing I love about summers is we get a vacation of a longer duration.

Reasons for Considering Summer as My Favourite Season

The Summer Vacation of Larger Duration – I love summer as we have a summer vacation of about two months. We are free from the daily routines of school during the summer vacations. We are free to eat, sleep, and play with our friends by forgetting the tension of daily homework and studies.

During many of the summer vacations, I got a chance to visit and explore different places in our country and especially hill stations. The summer season provides a chance to spend our time with our family members. Most of the time many of us visit our villages during this time and spend a great time with our grandparents and family. The village life is also awesome and I get a chance to visit my village during summers.

Playing Games During The Evening – Summer is the best time to practice for many sports and games. Outdoor activities are increased during summers. The small children are very excited to play in the evening and they spend most of their time playing with their friends. Playing games is also important for the overall development of children. Dancing and swimming activities are carried out by many people and students.

Enjoy Eating Mangoes – We enjoy eating many fruits during summers like litchi, watermelons, and muskmelons. Mangoes are available in this season which is the favourite fruit of the majority of people. I love eating mangoes. When we visit our village during summer vacation we get a chance to eat different types of mangoes in a larger quantity.

Enjoy Several Parties and Celebrations – People mainly schedule marriages and parties during summers. We enjoy many of the parties and celebrations and can refresh ourselves.

Longer Days and Shorter Nights – The days are usually longer during summer and nights are shorter. Longer days give us an opportunity to do the necessary works.

Summers although are hot but provides us with an opportunity to enjoy and relax. We can also enjoy several types of juice in summer.

Essay 3 (500 – 600 Words) – My Favourite Season: Winter Season

I like and enjoy all the seasons. Every season has some benefits and some drawbacks. Winter is my favourite season and I eagerly wait for the arrival of this season.

The winter season starts in October and ends in February. The coldest months of this season are December and January. The sun rays seem soothing during the winters. Generally, many of us spend some hours on roofs for receiving the warmth of the sun.

The Speciality of Winter Season

The winter season is characterized by the shortened length of the day and longer nights. Winters are cold and full of chills during morning and nights. There is little relaxation in the day time because of the sunlight. On most of the days, there is no sunlight. We could see vapours from our mouth when we talk. People lit bonfires, burn wood pieces and use a heater to reduce the cold and get warmth. I like sitting near the bonfire and cook potatoes in that. We spend most of our time in cosy blankets.

It’s very beautiful to see drops of dew falling or resting on the petals of flowers. The atmosphere is almost foggy and is cleared after the sunrise, which is usually delayed in winters. During winters we get rid of lizards which are one of my greatest fears.

There are varieties of food items which we can eat in winter. There is an availability of different vegetables and fruits. Hot coffee, tea, and hot foodstuffs are preferred by people in this season. Winter break is provided by schools during the month of December. It is the most beautiful holiday for students. We can wake up late in the morning and therefore enjoy sleeping. We become healthy during winters as food intake and digesting capacity improves.

Winters are more severe in the mountainous regions. People over there wear long and heavy jackets and boots to protect them from cold. The winters over there are accompanied by the snowfall. Some time due to heavy snowfall the roads are blocked and that has to be removed to make walking easier. People play by these snowballs and make a snowman.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas is a feast which is celebrated in the coldest month December. I love celebrating this festival. We celebrate it in our school as my school is mission school and the celebration of Christmas is awesome. This festival is celebrated for three days. Bonfire is lit and we dance around it. Many of us participate in different programmes related to the birth and happiness of Jesus Christ. The cold climate makes the celebration more wonderful. In the end, we get cakes and gifts by Santa clause. It is a belief that if we hang our shocks outside in our house on Christmas Eve, next morning we will see a gift inside the shocks.

My Activity during Winters

Every year during winters we arrange a tournament of badminton with my friends in our nearest stadium. Playing badminton during winters is a great exercise for me. It helps in making my body fit and healthy. It is like good refreshment in the morning during winters.

Disadvantages of this Season

Winters are wonderful but excessive cold weather becomes uneasy. There are many people who are not rich and therefore could not afford the facilities to protect them from excessive cold. Many animals also die due to excessively cold weather. My mother every year gives my old woollen clothes to the poor people of the society who are ready to accept it. Our school also collect funds and donate blankets to the needy ones. Trains also do not reach on time during winters due to excessive fog and mist.

Winter season is really amazing. It is the perfect time to enjoy snow skating, snow fight, ice hockey and many more things in the hilly areas. It is the best time to study and perform different activities without being disturbed by heat or perspiration.

During winters, schools usually take a break and close down. The days are shorter and the nights get longer. The chilly mornings give you a different sense altogether. Hot drinks like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are enjoyed more during winters. The sun rises quite late and sometimes it does not.

Even when it does, it doesn’t get a bit hot. People long for a little sunshine as the cold weather sends chills down the spine. You see people on the roads burning woods and paper to get a little warmth. However, not many people prefer going out in winters. They like sitting by the fireplace or heater all day.

In the hilly areas, people experience snow during winters. They have to shovel it out of the way to make way for walking. The essence of winters is enhanced by Christmas as well. It sets the holiday mood for people and is admired all over the world.

But, there is also a downside of this season. The farmers, homeless people, and animals are most affected by this season. There is hardly any business in this season for farmers. Hundreds of homeless people die due to the harsh winters.

As the animals do not have proper shelter, they too lose their lives. In addition, many flights are also canceled during this season. Nonetheless, this does not make winter any less important. It is quite essential to maintain balance in the weather of our country.
