In business since 2001, Speech & Occupational Therapy of North Texas has provided excellent pediatric therapy to our community for over two decades. It has always been our goal to create a nurturing and welcoming environment for clients and families.

Each of our locations strives to keep a personal small clinic atmosphere, while at the same time providing the highest quality evidence-based treatment and family training. Speech and OT of North Texas - Footer Logo

Speech & OT of North Texas utilizes a partnership model for therapy. Evidence-based practices have established that children make the most significant strides in therapy when the families are an integral part of the process. This is why we ask that a family or approved caregiver join the therapist for the last 5 minutes of treatment. In some situations a family may want to stay longer. This time helps the family to better understand the strategies and structure that lead to success.

The therapist typically will provide “homework” or activities to be addressed between sessions. This “teamwork” time also gives the therapist and family the freedom to discuss progress, concerns and new strategies in a confidential environment. Following this model is the best use of a family’s time and financial resources.

We are here to help your child meet their greatest potential within our scope of practice!

Listed below are a few Client Testimonials received by Speech & Occupational Therapy over the years!

I am so thankful for all the support and help my son and I have received from Becky , Anne and their staff in the last 3 years.  My son has a speech delay and auditory processing disorder. I have seen so much improvement with his communication and behavior as a result of speech therapy.  I also appreciate the time they take to explain what was done in the therapy session and how they provide things we can work on at home to improve his speech.  Not only are they helpful with providing therapy but they also checked my benefits and provided great customer service. Claudia R., Plano, Texas My 3-year old son, Aidan, has a serious speech delay, so we took him to Speech and Occupational Therapy for help. The staff is very organized. They got us in right away, tested my son, and immediately knew how to help him. He is so happy at Speech and Occupational Therapy! Thank you! Lisa C Caroline has done an amazing job with my son. She not only worked with him in his session but also gave us fun games to play at home to reinforce the skills taught. The office staff has been helpful and happy on each of our visits. Thank you!! Sheri Hay We are so grateful to Anne Bramlett and her staff for the success of our 5 year old son, Jonathan. He was diagnosed with autism about a year ago and Anne has been very helpful and patient with all of our questions regarding Jonathan’s condition. He sees Anne for speech therapy and Midge for Occupational Therapy and we have seen a huge improvement in his speech and communication skills. Thank you Anne, Midge, and staff. Jonathan is really happy and loves you very much! EG Our child began receiving services from Speech & Occupational Therapy of North Texas about two and a half years ago.  We researched several therapy centers seeking the best treatment for our child.  We have not regretted our choice. The staff at Speech & Occupational Therapy of North Texas has an outstanding way of making our daughter feel comfortable and at home.  She knows several of the staff members by name due to her positive interactions with them.  She looks forward to seeing her therapist twice per week as is evidenced by her continued growth and development in both feeding and speech.  This has been a remarkable opportunity for our child to both learn and grow! Eric C. - Frisco Texas Our OT from Speech and Occupational Therapy of North Texas is incredibly warm, professional and enthusiastic. My son is extremely attached to her! It is amazing some of the activities that she can get him to do. Our OT is so creative and eager that she is able to keep my child interested, even if it’s a challenging task. The services we have received from her have been very beneficial to our child. Christine H When my son started here at Speech and Occupational Therapy he was very late in his speech; almost 3 and still not talking. My boy is now 5 ½ years old and is able to speak in short sentences and is holding his own in Kindergarten. In OT he has become much better with his eye-hand coordination. The therapists here are very patient and genuinely care about the children that receive services here. I highly recommend S and OT of North Texas. Gail K. This is such a great place! The staff is very professional & have an amazing heart for those with special needs. We’ve had a wonderful experience in the years my son has been in therapy here & he’s made wonderful progress. I do wonder if he gives his therapist the urge to have a child, too, because we’ve had 2 leave to start their family; however, the transition has always been made smoothly with every accommodation to make sure he stays on track & continues to be successful. I just can’t say enough about how much we love this place. He wouldn’t be as far along as he is without them! We feel blessed by their services! Melanie W.

I am the father of a 19 month old boy and of Nicole Kovalevsky was his occupational therapist and I'm writing this because she did such a fabulous job with him. Nicole tended to my sons needs even when he was having a bad day. She would compose herself and we know that sometimes it's difficult dealing with a toddler. She was always very soft-spoken and attentive to all of my son's needs. Nicole also was very easy to understand when I asked her questions and she explained activities or homework for me to do with Riley. This made it more possible over the weeks that she was working with my son for me, his father to help him with the tasks which she was recommending. Nicole was also available to talk with, even when she wasn't on site at the house. If I had any questions or concerns, she was quite prompt in getting back to me with answers for whatever I had asked. I overall truly believe that any new clients that she receives are lucky to have her as an occupational therapist, and I couldn't be any more grateful for what she has done with helping my child with his developmental milestones. I would just like to thank her again because she's an exceptional person with a brilliant future with your company with whom she's currently employed. We wish her the best in her career and she's the perfect person to do what she's doing. Thank you Nicole!

As both an educator of 20 years and a mother, I highly recommend Crossroads Speech Therapy for their exceptional services. Our son struggled with speech issues, and when I brought my concerns to Crossroads, they made the screening process easy and informative, talking me through what sounds my son should have mastered given his age, and how speech therapy could help him learn to articulate sounds that were proving difficult for him. Ms. Jamie, his instructor, established a fantastic bond with our son from day one, making each session enjoyable and productive for him. Our son didn't see speech therapy as work or a punishment, but instead looked forward to his time with her each week! Ms. Jamie created a positive learning environment, with an effective blend of skill development and practice, combined with engaging games that allowed him to practice his skills in spontaneous speech; this balance kept him motivated and growing. The time and money we spent on this therapy has been invaluable, and we're so glad we worked with Crossroads, as our experience with them from start to finish has been entirely positive. Our son has made significant progress, which has allowed him to develop his articulation and ensure that academically he is strong with his reading and writing skills. Crossroads provides an excellent experience with dedicated professionals who truly make a positive impact on the children they service and their families.

Chips Cheese Alex is not only a great speech pathologist, but a wonderful person all around. Throughout my life, I felt like I my communication or speech was a little off. As an adult, I felt it was time I could take charge of that. Alex was able to assess, work with me, and give me the tools I need to articulate in a clearer way. More specifically, Alex helped with a little bit of a lisp issue, breath support, and fluency. I believe this will help me be a better communicator in my career and in life. More over, I know that Alex will be supportive if I ever feel the need for check-ins or additional support. Thank you Alex!

We worked with Abby for a little less than two years. My daughter and I absolutely adore her. We only had one session with her before the pandemic hit and everything went virtual. Virtual learning is a challenge but in our virtual sessions Abby was always so incredibly patient and understanding. This was the most wonderful experience because not only did Abby engage my daughter and help her to feel successful, but she also empowered me with the tools I needed as a parent to help my daughter grow. Pictured is the two of them having a pretend meal via zoom session. Cannot say enough good things about her and Crossroads. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. My daughter was sad to graduate!

My son is 2.5 years old and has been working with Alexa for the last 6 months. When we first started working with her, my son spoke only a few words. He now is stringing 7+ word sentences together! My son looks forward to his weekly appointment with Alexa and is always met with great excitement from her at the start of each appointment. Alexa is incredibly patient, kind, and very knowledgeable about the ways to increase my son's speaking abilities. She also has been very accommodating with switching speech appointment times due to our changing schedule. I would highly recommend Alexa to any parents who think their child may need additional speech therapy. She truly has been wonderful to work with.

Crossroads Speech Therapy has been my light as a mom trying to secure the best services for my son. Katie, the owner who is a mom and Speech Language guru has made the enrolling and scheduling process so seamless coordinating a co-treat plan. The whole crossroads team has been consistently intentional, invested, and best practice focused in helping my toddler son develop and expand his speech and motor development. Audrey, Alex, and Charlotte are impeccable and my toddler son has established a sense of community with them whether they are servicing him individually or in a co-treat setting. Audrey has been invested in my son's journey since he started services. Audrey is super determined and has strengthened and developed my son's fundamental receptive and expressive language skills along with building my own skill set in developing speech strategies to use at home. Alex is super engaging, creative, and interactive in her approach which has made speech sessions with her so much fun. Alex narrates session activities connecting the "why" do this which expanded my learning and doing on my part as a parent. My son runs to Charlotte with excitement when he sees her. Charlotte has a holistic and nurturing best practice intervention strategies OT approach. Charlotte has strengthened my son's motor skills that empower him in daily functional activities. These three practitioners are my son's dynamic gems that as a mom I treasure!

We had a fantastic experience with Crossroads Speech Therapy! From intake, to therapy sessions, to discharge, Crossroads made every aspect of speech therapy for our child easy and productive! Scheduling our initial appointment and setting up our evaluation and billing was simple and quick. Crossroads handled all of our insurance and billing seamlessly and I was able to do nearly everything online. Our initial evaluation and meeting resulted in an objective assessment of our child's abilities, identified the areas they needed to work on, and laid out a clear plan moving forward. The location for our sessions was convenient to our home, comfortable, and had easy parking! The outcomes that our child achieved were exactly what we hoped for and resulted in rapid elimination of the minor issues he was having with his speech. The therapist gave a great summary after each session on progress being made, goals for the future, and what we could do at home to support progress. Perhaps most importantly, our child had a great time working with his therapist, Ms. Jaime. Indeed, he loved his time at Crossroads so much, that he did not want to stop going, even though he had already addressed the issues that brought him to Crossroads! What more could you ask for?

Crossroads has been such an amazing experience/ process from the start. I first spoke with Katie who was absolutely reassuring and put my nerves to ease that my three year old would get the help he needed. Of course during this crazy time I was so happy to hear they were still doing in person therapy. They follow all CDC protocols and we feel comfortable allowing them into our home. We have the pleasure of having Alex as our therapist. I'm sure all the therapist are great, but our son took to Alex immediately and went from not speaking to saying "I want cup please" in 6 weeks. Alex has been nothing short of incredible and really has changed our lives. We are able to communicate with our son and he seems ten times happier. She does a great job engaging with our son and keeping it fun and exciting. She is great at giving us our homework and what to work on. Overall I cannot say more positive things about crossroads and highly recommend them. Please look no further and call them today to get your child the help they need.

We had great experience working with Elnaz for our son. She took our feedback on areas which need improvement and incorporated those in games and taught home those concepts. Highly highly recommended!

I highly recommend this business if your child needs speech therapy or writing tutoring. They were so responsive when we needed to get our daughter started in speech services.  Later, I mentioned my older son was struggling with writing and I didn't even realize that was something a speech pathologist could help with but we received so much support there too. Goals were appropriate for both my kiddos and we were matched very quickly with our speech path Abby.  Even though sessions are on zoom, Abby makes it fun and engaging for our daughter.  She is punctual, kind, warm, and friendly!  Our daughter is making very good progress and we are so pleased.

Speech For Success

Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy Services

for pediatric, adult, and children across a wide range of methodologies and specializations. Each of our therapists are handpicked to provide the best of care to suit your needs.

What we can offer you and your loved ones.

Children and adults with severe speech or language problems may need to find other ways to communicate besides talking. There are many types of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) they can use. At Speech For Success, we determine if an AAC device is appropriate and offer training and guidance for device use and carry over at home and school. We work closely with Tobii dynavox to assist with evaluations for appropriate device program and size, then modify the device to meet the needs of each individual client.

Oral Placement Therapy

Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) is a specialized training in speech therapy offered by Talk Tools, which utilizes a combination of: (1) auditory stimulation, (2) visual stimulation and (3) tactile stimulation to the mouth to improve speech clarity. The most important different with OPT is that It is a tactile-proprioceptive teaching technique which accompanies traditional therapy. Traditional therapy is primarily auditory and visual. Individuals with motor and/or sensory impairments benefit from tactile and proprioceptive components because speech is a tactile-proprioceptive act. OPT is used to improve articulator awareness, placement (dissociation, grading, and direction of movement), stability, and muscle memory; all of these are necessary for the development of speech sounds and clarity.

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Several of our Speech Therapists are trained to work with Children, teenagers, and adults who may suffer from Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) . OMD’s may interfere with how the muscles of the face and mouth are used for eating, talking, and breathing. Common causes of OMD’s might be tongue or lip ties. It is common for people who have an OMD may also have problems with talking, swallowing, and breathing through their nose. Some of our SLPs have specialized training to provide Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and work closely with a team of Dentists, ENT’s and nutritionists for best quality of care.

Phonological Disorders

Articulation and phonology refer to the way sound is produced. A child with an articulation disorder has problems forming speech sounds properly. A child with a phonological disorder can produce the sounds correctly, but may use them in the wrong place. Our clinicians use the Cycles Approach to help target phonological disorders with parent training for carry over at home. An example of a phonological disorder might be this: “A sound in the word may be reversed within a word to the front (also known as Fronting). An example of this would be “Tat” instead of “cat” sound or completely misunderstanding how to pronounce the “c” sound in a word.”

Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy focuses on helping a child learn how to eat and/or expand the variety of appropriate foods in their repertoire. Our therapists will first evaluate your child's feeding skills including chewing, drinking, and ability to self-feed, positioning as well as food preferences and sensory and motor abilities. The goals and treatment plan will be based upon the results of the evaluation.

What People Are Saying

"Speech For Success has been life-changing for our little guy. We came to them during a vulnerable time desperate for help & they came through. They are so helpful, encouraging and patient. What I love about Speech For Success is my son is treated so well. They care more about the quality of work they do than any other therapy place I have seen. Our son Maddox sees Miss Kim & she is such a light! He absolutely loves her and we are so grateful for her. He has made huge strides already & we can’t wait for more. Highly recommend!"

Work Conditioning

Work conditioning is aimed to restore physical function and prepare employees for functional requirements of a job/employment setting. Physical conditioning and job simulation tasks are provided to help improve the abilities of patients to return to work duties.

Our work conditioning program uses simulated work tasks, exercise, aerobic conditioning, and education to restore a worker’s strength, endurance, movement, flexibility, and motor control so the worker can return to prior employment. The work conditioning program is usually two to four hours per day, three days a week. Patients are advised to wear comfortable work clothes and bring in any equipment required for the job as well (steel toed boots, tool belts, tools, etc.)
