This chart is based on the rubric provided by New York State to grade Enduring Issues Essays. It has been reformatted to help students and teachers understand the different components and more easily analyze student strengths and weaknesses quickly and easily. This product is included in the following BUNDLE: Enduring Issues Essay Bundle.
This is modeled off of the latest rubric (and testing within my own classroom) put out by NYS for the Enduring Issues Essay and breaks down each category into 5 different levels. The rubric is partially meant to be subjective and allow wiggle room for giving students certain scores. To be clear, the NYS rubric allows for similar wiggle room.
