All of us has to speak in English during the English period. Every student tries to talk in English even if the sentence sounds improper. She has taught us to never laugh at each other’s mistakes. This has improved our spoken English in a great way. Now, we are able to talk in English with more confidence.

Another great quality of hers is that she treats every child equally. After explaining the lesson to us, she asks each one of us different questions about the chapter. Sometimes, we also love to talk about our personal lives, like what do we like about our lives, how our parents work hard for us, and things like that.

When we get confused or need an emotional support, she is the best person to talk to. Her advice and suggestions are always positive. Last month, on teacher’s day, all the students wished her and brought presents for her. We also sang a song to her.

I like him because his sense of humor gives a good learning experience for the students. He is a math teacher and he is very good at what he does. Students tend to make fun of him because of his accent but he make fun of it himself, which gets even funnier. This teacher has been a great mentor to me and other student ever since we joined high school. I met him on a personal level one day after class when I needed clarification on a topic I had not quite understood. The teacher was kind to me and guided me through it. Since then, he took his own initiative to do follow-ups on me and I became really good in math due to his efforts.

In the classroom, he employs the Eclectic mode of teaching (this is the combination of all the modes of teaching “discussion mode, play way mode, role play mode, question mode” so as to facilitate standard learning).

He comes into the classroom; starts the lecture with a recap of what was discussed in the previous class, gives room for the students to ask questions that arose from the last class, answers them and then starts a new topic.

To start a new topic, he starts with a mind-capturing introduction that attracts the attention of all students. Once he is through with introducing the topic, he gauges our reaction in order for him to know if his students are on the same page with him or left behind.

Then, he moves on to the discussion mode of teaching, whereby he throws questions to his students and accommodates both relevant and irrelevant answers, at the end of this model, he sieves through the answers provided, pick the relevant ones and add his own iota to it, he also always applaud the courage of all who answers his questions.

He moves either into the role play method or the play way method, here he selects students to either act out the lessons from the day’s topic or summarizes what he has taught for the day. The use of this particular mode enlightens the students more on the topic being discussed.

Finally, he moves over to the questions and revision mode, where he personally go through all he has taught over the course of the period. During this mode, he entertains questions from students on their personal areas of difficulties. Occasionally, he gives assignments to back up his teachings.

During his teachings, he pays close attention to the expression, mood, sitting posture and carriage of his students. This tells him when his students are lost, sad, worried, hungry, sick, away in dream land or simply tired.

Once he is done processing the information gotten from our faces, he either finds a way of brightening the mood of his students, bringing them back from the dream world, or ending his class without breaking his stride or alerting the whole population of students to what is currently going on.

It is only normal for a human being to reflect his mood whenever he is talking or interacting, but my teacher hardly ever allow his bad, horrible moods interfere with his teachings.

Outside the classroom, my teacher is approachable, fatherly, and jovial. He entertains all and no one is excluded from his open arms, smiles and affections.

He is a good counselor who is always ready to help me out of my tight corners. He gives twenty first century advises in a fatherly way.

Although, due to my teachers lenient ways with students, some students tend to be lazy, disrespectful, stubborn or rude. He has a way of being firm, maintaining class control while teaching.

In conclusion, my teacher has all the attributes and more of a new method teachers. He is capable of combining all modes of teaching, he is compassionate, passionate, and friendly. From my interactions with him, I can confidently say that he is one of the best teachers around.

“I have had classes so low, so academically deficient that I cried. I wondered, ‘How am I going to take this group in nine months from where they are to where they need to be?” says Pierson, in this amazing talk . “I came up with a bright idea … I gave them a saying: ‘I am somebody. A Good Teacher

A good teacher is not that hard to find, but you must know where to look. The good teachers are well-prepared in advance for their education goals. They prepare their plan of action every day to ensure maximum productivity. Teachers have a lot of knowledge about everything, specifically in the subject they specialize in. A good teacher expands their knowledge continues to provide good answers to their students.

Similarly, a good teacher is like a friend that helps us in all our troubles. A good teacher creates their individual learning process which is unique and not mainstream. This makes the students learn the subject in a better manner. In other words, a good teacher ensures their students are learning efficiently and scoring good marks.

Most importantly, a good teacher is one who does not merely focus on our academic performance but our overall development. Only then can a student truly grow. Thus, good teachers will understand their student’s problems and try to deal with them correctly. They make the student feel like they always have someone to talk to if they can’t do it at home or with their friends.

Impact of Teachers on a Student’s Life

Growing up, our parents and teachers are the first ones to impact our lives significantly. In fact, in the younger years, students have complete faith in their teachers and they listen to their teachers more than their parents. This shows the significance and impact of a teacher .

When we become older and enter college, teachers become our friends. Some even become our role models. They inspire us to do great things in life. We learn how to be selfless by teachers. Teachers unknowingly also teach very important lessons to a student.

For instance, when a student gets hurt in school, the teacher rushes them to the infirmary for first aid. This makes a student feel secure and that they know a teacher plays the role of a parent in school.

In other words, a teacher does not merely stick to the role of a teacher. They adapt into various roles as and when the need arises. They become our friends when we are sad, they care for us like our parents when we are hurt. Thus, we see how great a teacher impacts a student’s life and shapes it.

I have had many teachers in my lifetime and each one of them has affected my attitude toward education in a unique way. I have developed a different relationship with each one of them; and of course, I reminisce about some of my teachers more than other s. A teacher never knows which student he or she is going to inspire to achieve his or her goals. Sometimes, a teacher might feel that he or she has not done much for a student, but that student might feel that that particular teacher has highly contributed to his or her education and has undoubtedly affected his or her attitude about education in a positive way. The purpose of this essay is to describe a teacher who has positively affected my attitude toward education.

Furthermore, one of the greatest and unforgettable memories that stand above all of my experiences as a student was the time I spent with one of my high school teachers, Mrs. Sutton. Mrs. Sutton was the most patient teacher I had ever had. She treated her students the way she would have wanted to be treated if she were a student; that was, with respect and dignity. It is with all honesty when I say that Mrs. Sutton was always in a good mood. I never once saw her lose patience with her students. Mrs. Sutton motivated me to wake up five days a week with a “ready for school” mentality.

Moreover, it is effortless to mention Mrs. Sutton’s passion and devotion for teaching. She always wanted her students to go to her for help. I became so comfortable with her that I would go to her after school for help with difficult homework assignments from other teachers. She always had a smile on her face and helped me with an open heart. I could see Mrs. Sutton’s passion for teaching from the very first day I met her.

To sum it up, Mrs. Sutton has shaped my attitude and changed my conception about education. One of the things I have learned from Mrs. Sutton that has strengthened and is keeping me going in life is “Every problem has a solution. You may not find the solution today, but it is there.” Mrs. Sutton’s contribution to my self-concept about education is one of the reasons why I have managed to come this far in life.

E ducators have spent the last two years trudging through the muck and overcoming the various challenges thrown their way. Now many are soon to take a well-deserved break—which will end much too quickly, as they always do. So let’s relish this moment and reflect: What keeps you in this job, anyway?

To start that conversation, we recently asked you to share what motivates you to come back to the classroom each term—no matter the challenges—and what strategies you use to give yourself a burst of inspiration when needed. Here’s what you had to say.

Q. What motivates and inspires you to keep teaching, no matter the challenges?

Exequiel Hernandez, Max and Bernice Garchik Family Presidential Associate Professor, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania: More than anything else, it’s the students. I think of the love and responsibility I have toward them. They’re putting an enormous amount of trust in me, hoping that they’ll learn something useful for their professional and personal development. They’re also paying a lot of money for each minute of class. If I can make it about them and not me, it’s really motivating.

Lilian Ajayi-Ore, adjunct professor, New York University School of Professional Studies: I am inspired by my passion for teaching and my intrinsic commitment to supporting students in the classroom and in navigating their careers post-program.

Pedro Monagas Asensio, STEM education professor and research professor, Polytechnic University of Catalonia: Being a reference and a guide to my students—while avoiding being a theoretician without practical resources—is what motivates me. I always try to ensure my syllabus has content and practical meaning to stimulate my students. I also try to set an example for my students, both as a person and as a professional, and connect with them as much as possible. After graduation, many of my students working in the industry consult me and inform me of their professional advances.

I am also motivated by having the ability to make educational visits to industrial companies and to invite professionals to my classroom to give my students a master class.

Susan Lee, lecturer at the Centre for English Language Communication, National University of Singapore: Meeting new students, testing iterations of teaching approaches, and refreshing and customizing content that reflects dynamic changes in reality are all immensely rewarding experiences of teaching term after term. It always excites me to motivate students to learn and apply skills in their world immediately.

It’s a priority for me that students recognize the relevance and usefulness of classroom learning in authentic settings. This includes integrating examples that are current and of interest to my students. Often, these are drawn from research and reflections of related trends and news. Last year, as the demand for office space fell during the pandemic, I created a proposal-writing task that required real estate students to suggest ways to re-configure office spaces for lease. Discussing real-world challenges and relevance motivates students to communicate their ideas more persuasively.

Nellie El Enany, assistant professor, School of Business, The American University in Cairo: I get excited about learning new things—whether it be through podcasts, documentaries, or the news—and always want to share what I learn with my students. I want to not only teach my students and pass on invaluable information, but also inspire them, particularly when it relates to how they can be activists—social or corporate—and changemakers in society.

Before the start of term, I always think about classes that were fantastic. I wonder if they will be the same and hope that they will be even better, and perhaps that desire to make each term more exciting and innovative than previous ones is what drives me to start all over again with a new dose of passion.

Q. What strategies do you use to give yourself an extra boost of inspiration when you need it?

Hernandez: I find a quiet place a few minutes before class where I can ponder and pray to focus my thoughts and emotions. I express gratitude for the opportunity to be with my students for a few minutes that day. I visualize the students, imagine what they might need, and anticipate what the most positive interaction with them might look like.

I also plan exactly what will happen during the first moment of that day’s class—if I can get that right, the rest flows more easily. If it’s a particularly hard day to get motivated, I remember past successes: students from prior semesters who expressed gratitude, conversations in which we learned deeply from one another, and stuff like that. It’s all about getting into a student-focused mindset instead of a professor-focused mindset.

Ajayi-Ore: Teaching through the pandemic wasn’t easy emotionally for me, and I know it was the same for my fellow educators. For an extra boost of inspiration, I became more active in participating in academic events and programming—working with my departments on critical initiatives and offering myself as a resource.

The other thing I did was increase my coping mechanism knowledge by being proactive in reading interviews and articles about how other faculty cope with various academic situations.

Asensio: Some of the projects my students work on in class become real products for the market. The satisfaction of knowing that my students go out to the labor market giving work and not asking for it, and that they leave my teachings generating and licensing industrial properties such as patents and trademarks, makes me proud.

Lee: I take breaks and get inspired by trekking (long hikes), reading resources on professional sharing platforms like The Marginalian , news sources, and thoughtful sharing from individuals like Susan Cain , Simon Sinek , and Adam Grant .

I am often refreshed and recharged with a mini routine change or engagement in novel challenges. Learning something new is my energy booster. A quick way to do this is to try a new recipe or navigate a different hike. During vacation, I do workshops like pottery. These activities give me the headspace to distance myself from the day-to-day thinking patterns, which are geared toward completing work-related tasks. My own struggle to learn also develops empathy for challenged learners.

Enany: I’ve been lucky at my university to be able to teach so many different courses and integrate new and up-to-date research and topics into existing ones. Many of my students, past and present, know that I am passionate about community work with stray dogs in Cairo, the natural environment, teaching children in my community, and visiting orphanages. This always keeps me energetic and humble, and I love getting my students involved in any community work I do.

I am really proud of so many of my students for being social activists and coming along to events and activities around a whole range of community initiatives. Seeing them do this always keeps me inspired.

Staying grateful and happy, as cliche as it sounds, is something I always try to focus on. I’m grateful for being able to be back physically in the classroom post–COVID-19, for being able to learn from my students, and for being connected to so many fantastic educators around the world.

My class teacher’s name is Rajesh Kumar Mehta. He teaches English and is one of the most liked teachers in our batch. He is devoted to his students and never skips school. My favourite teacher’s hobby is gardening. He maintains a garden in front of his home. He is also assisting us in creating a school garden. He has provided us with a thorough garden layout. Each student is actively involved in this project. We brought several flowering plants and the garden is coming out well.

He is also a skilled athlete. He joins us on the field sometimes. He teaches us proper cricket technique. He used to be quite talented at cricket during his youth. He still has incredible talent with a bat. He is a great batsman, and his favourite cricketers include legends like Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Along with all of these things, reading is one of his favourite pastimes. He also makes reading recommendations to us.

All I have to say about my favourite teacher is that he holds a special place in my life. He has done so much good and made a difference in my life. I understand that everyone has their own preferences, however in my situation, Mr. Sunil is my best teacher.

Having a particular teacher that you are especially comfortable with can be a massive advantage as it can help you move through your school years in an easier way. A good teacher can also act as a mentor, guiding you all through your life, even apart from just academics.

I am a student of 10th Class of a reputed private school. There are many great teachers in my school but everyone has that one teacher they are especially grateful to. Likewise, my favourite teacher is Mr Manish Khandelwal Sir. Manish Sir teaches us Maths, and he has a really attractive personality. He is very polite and humble and we all the students love him. He is also a person trusted the most by parents and teachers, as he constantly strives in creating a balanced environment in working hard at academics and having fun doing so.

Qualities of My Favorite Teacher

Manish Sir is tall and quite good looking. He is 32 years old and very experienced. His way of teaching is excellent. He believes in simple living and high thinking. All the students love him for his superb way of teaching and humble behaviour. He has an experience of 9 years in education, and he has done masters in Mathematics. He easily solves complicated mathematical equations.

He has a unique way of explaining his methods of solving problems. This way, he makes even the most complex of problems look simple and makes it very easy to understand for all students. He has all favourite teacher qualities in him, and has an exceptional amount of patience, which is one of the reasons why everyone considers him as the best teacher. He explains every question or doubt with so much patience and clarity and makes sure you understand them thoroughly.

He has an excellent command of English and unlike most teachers out there for whom writing impositions, formulas and theorems are important, he focuses more on logical reasoning rather than memorising complicated equations. He is very disciplined and punctual and ensures that we follow these principles as well. He understands the importance of time and always comes on time. He possesses many of such appreciable qualities which are commendable and highly appreciated by students who want to pursue these qualities as well.

He is very enthusiastic but he is not too pushy and allows us to make the decisions on our own. He perfectly understands the balance between study and extracurricular activities and helps us stay on track with both. He believes in the overall development of the students and thus encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities.

He prepares students for Maths olympiads so that their confidence can be boosted and they excel in a complex subject like Maths. Under his guidance, many students have won prizes in Maths olympiads, and even I have scored the highest marks securing the first position in many Maths competitions. He is an asset to our school as he has played a massive role in improving the overall image of our school including co-curricular and academic aspects and we students are fortunate to have him.

What Makes Him My Favourite Teacher?

Manish Sir is my favourite teacher because he is very humble, kind and polite. I love his way of teaching. He loves all students and doesn't believe in punishing them. He focuses more on conceptual clarity than burdening students with excessive homeworks. He never scolds students and never expresses his concerns in the form of anger. Instead, he talks to the students personally in a calm manner, in a way that helps us improve and wants to put in more effort.

He asks students to be honest with him and always gives equal attention to all the students. He never makes fun of any students and gives extra attention to the weak students. Whenever a student fails to understand any question or equation, he puts extra effort to make him understand, and never tends to lose patience. He calmly explains no matter how many times he has to repeat the same question or statement. He is focused on making us understand every concept with utmost clarity and that is the reason why all students love him.

One of my most favourite qualities of Manish sir is that he keeps track of every student in the class; how they are performing or what are the things they are good at. He constantly keeps an eye out for everyone in the class and helps them to improve themselves and guides them throughout the learning process. He is one of the best teachers in our school who keeps constantly motivating their students and guiding them in all spheres of life. Manish sir is especially known for not showing even the tiniest amount of favouritism. He treats all his students with an equal amount of fondness and love and cares for every one of us deeply.

He is very experienced and full of life. He tends to keep the entire class on a positive note and never exhibits any behaviour that deteriorates other people. He is concerned about people’s feelings and never hurts anybody. He is very sober and has a great sense of humour. His mathematical knowledge is very vast. Apart from being good at mathematics, he also preaches the importance of having sound knowledge in English and literature.

He loves reading books and always encourages students to spare some time to read novels instead of doing mindless activities like watching tv or playing video games. He also advises us to get more physical activity and play with other people our age and interact more as it would improve communication. He advises students to pursue their hobbies or interests. He understands students' problems and always provides them with a helping hand. He explains everything with examples and makes every concept so interesting to learn for students.

We students love to attend his class because he is very understanding. He covers each topic in detail and gives his full attention in class. He would be the first one to notice if even a single student loses track or starts dozing off. He would just suggest an alternative method or a simpler explanation instead of blaming the student for not paying enough attention to the class. He knows how to draw students' attention in class. He never assigns us too much homework, and after class, he provides us with regular assignments to assess our understanding of a particular topic.

The assignments are often designed to be more informative and research-oriented rather than just making us write down questions or paragraphs from the book and memorise them. By actually going through related articles and books, we gain a greater amount of knowledge and this way, we tend to remember what we learn for a long time as well.

In case if any student fails to do the assignment or performs poorly in a particular chapter, he doesn't shout at them but instead makes them understand the concept again. This way, we students understand that whatever he is doing is for our own benefit and we tend to work harder to improve ourselves. These are a few of the things he does that makes him different from the other teachers and appears approachable to everyone around him. I have never seen a humble and polite teacher like him, and one day I will try to be like him in my career.

Manish Sir is not just a great teacher but also my ideal person. He has all the favourite teacher qualities, and everyone loves him. I am lucky to be his student, and I will always follow his principles in my life. Even after leaving this school, he will remain my favourite teacher, and I will never forget him. I will always remember what he has taught me through example, and I will try to be a great person like him in the future.

one corner of my dresser, sits a smiling toy clown on a tiny unicycle–a gift I

received last Christmas from my close friend. The clown’s short yellow hair,

made of yarn, covers its ears but is parted above the eyes. The blue eyes are

outlined in black with thin, dark lashes flowing from the brows. ft has

cherry-red cheeks, nose, and lips, and its broad grin disappears into the wide,

white ruffle around its neck. The clown wears a fluffy, two-tone nylon costume.

The left side of the outfit is light blue, and the right side is red. The two

colors merge in a dark line that runs down the center of the small outfit.

Surrounding its ankles and disguising its long black shoes, are big pink bows.

The white spokes on the wheels of the unicycle gather in the center and expand

to the black tire so that the wheel somewhat resembles the inner half of a

grapefruit. The clown and unicycle together stand about a foot high. As a

cherished gift from my good friend Tran, this colorful figure greets me with a

is my dream house. It’s one-story house built in a spacious property. There is

meet a wall with a mirror which is separated right and left wing of the nose. If

you go to the right wing, you will directly go to the living room There welcome

my guests. Next to the living room, you can find a guest room and a restroom.

The guest room is facing to a part of swimming pool. The left wing is a way to

kitchen and dining room. In the hall to the kitchen and dining room, you can

find a door to my family main room. When you open the door, there is a glass

hall towards the children’s room. if we go through the glass hail from the

guest room, you can find my room facing the swimming pool. And the glass hail

is also connecting my room on the right wing and dining room on the left wing.

1 . THE BLOND GUITAR

My most valuable possession is an old, slightly warped blond guitar—the first

instrument I taught myself how to play. It’s nothing fancy, just a Madeira folk

guitar, all scuffed and scratched and fingerprinted. At the top is a bramble of

copper-wound strings, each one hooked through the eye of a silver tuning key.

The strings are stretched down a long, slim neck, its frets tarnished, the wood

worn by years of fingers pressing chords and picking notes. The body of the

Madeira is shaped like an enormous yellow pear, one that was slightly damaged in

shipping. The blond wood has been chipped and gouged to gray, particularly

where the pick guard fell off years ago. No, its not a beautiful instrument,

but it still lets me make music, and for that I will always treasure it.

2. THE KITCHEN

The kitchen held our lives together. My mother worked in it all day long, we ate in it almost all meals except the breakfast, I did my homework and first writing

at the kitchen table, and in winter, I often had a bed made up for me on three

kitchen chairs near the stove. On the wall, just over the table, hung a long

horizontal mirror that sloped to a ship’s prow at each end and was lined in

cherry wood. It took up the whole wall, and drew every object in the kitchen to

itself. The walls were a fiercely speckled whitewash, so often re-whitened by

my father in slack seasons that the paint looked as if it had been squeezed and

cracked into the walls. A large electric bulb hung down the center of the

kitchen at the end of a chain that had been hooked into the ceiling; the old

gas ring and key still jutted out of the wall like antlers. In the corner, next

to the toilet, was the sink at which we washed, and the square tube in which my

mother did our clothes. Above it, tacked to the shelf on which were pleasantly

ranged square, blue-bordered white sugar and spice jars, hung calendars from

the National Bank and the Workmen’s Circle; receipts for the payment of

insurance premiums, and household bills on a spindle; two little boxes engraved

with Hindi letters.

INSPIRING TEACHER

There are some inspiring teachers in my life. But the one whom I am going to tell you about is really a great teacher for me. His name is Shyam Sagar. He was my lecturer in Sanskrit Literature, University of Delhi. He was the third person

who has the highest knowledge of Sanskrit linguistic in the world. His

specialty was in calligraphy and philosophy. He doesn’t have a high education

title. In fact, he was a truck driver in Tamil Nadu before he was appointed to

be a guest lecturer in University of Delhi. When we saw him for the first time,

he didn’t look like a lecturer. He was carrying a black plastic bag and wore a

simple outfit. What impressed us at that time was that he was talking as if we

had watched an English movie! He didn’t have many rules in his class but he

knew how to attract us to study more and more. Every time we studied

linguistic, he let us feel and try the words, so we had no doubt in pronouncing

them. He was able to let us understand phrases matching to situations and Tamil culture. His humble heart and persistence made us respect him more. As a result, we always tried our best in his class because we did not want to

disappoint him. I have been admired by his attitude towards his students, and I

try to model him, yet I’m still learning.

4. MY FAVOURITE PLACE

My favorite place which is important to me is my countryside house. I have very bright impressions and memories related to it. That is the place where I have grown up, met my friends and where I have spent almost all my life.

It is a big house with a yard. In summer, there are a lot of flowers which make

the outlook beautiful In the backyard, there is a “place where I love to

spend time, lying in hammock and dreaming under the tree.

Inside the house, there is a kitchen, a big living room, where you can invite guests, friends and chat with them, watch TV and relax. Next to the living room there are rooms, which are always sunlit during daytime, so you wake up with a very good mood in the morning. The house has a very homely atmosphere I will always like this place, because I have many good, pleasant memories and feelings about it.

5. MY HOMETOWN

grew up in Shimla which is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh in the

northern part of India. Large, old oak trees and green lawns, surrounded by

hills covered in pine trees formed my neighborhood. The streets were quiet,

with only the sound of birds singing and some cars passing every once in a

while. During the cold, snowy winters, most people stayed inside, and one could

smell wood burning in fireplaces and see smoke coming out of chimneys. In

summer, one could see people walking dogs or jogging, smell cut-fresh grass,

and see squirrels jumping from tree to tree. My hometown made me feel secure

and comfortable. Now, I usually visit Shimla once a year. Not a lot has changed

except now there are more people, more traffic, and more places to go, such as

shopping malls and restaurants. I feel nostalgic when I think about Shimla.

6. MY LOVING SISTER

has a family, but only few are lucky to have an inspiring, strong and caring

sister like mine. My sister’s name is Radhika Kapoor. My sister is currently staying

with her friend’s family in Patel Nagar as she is pursuing an advanced academic

program. She works her brain off to meet deadlines, produce new ideas, and on

top of that she tries to fit time in her busy schedule every night to call or

text us. For , engineering, she has

sacrificed so much to be the best. Although engineering doesn’t define her,

what she loves about it is that it’s a challenge she has to face. Radhika has

everything that a little sister would have wanted. She’s understanding,

intelligent, funny, and charismatic. Radhika brings solution to every problem.

regardless the situation. My sister is my teacher. She guides me through my

life. Radhika always advises me on what to be avoided and what would bring

benefits to me. Radhika is sincere to everyone and herself. I love my sister

and no one can do anything. to separate us. I hope that someday I can take good

care of her as she has cared for me.

MY GRANDMOTHER

person I will always remember is my grandmother, because she was the most

amazing person I had ever known. My grandmother was a person everyone wanted to

be around, she always put a smile on our faces without even trying. She had the

finniest laugh and was always cracking jokes which was probably the reason why

we were always laughing. My grandma would help anyone no matter hat the situation was even if it meant going

out of her way to help. She was very caring and always had a welcoming home for

us; my cousins and I always liked staying with her on the weekends.

My grandma was like my best friend. I could talk to her about anything, and she

knew exactly how to solve my problems. She also used to make the best idlis and

payasam. I always looked forward to Diwali walking into her house, smelling all

the warm food, waiting for us. I will always cherish all the memories I had

with my grandma. She raised me to be a better person and to look at things in a

positive way. She was a strong, loving, caring, funny woman and had many things

to give to others. An one who met her will cherish forever.

FRIEND-MY CHAMP

Mohan has been a good friend of mine for some

years now. Our friendship goes all the way hack to when we first met in primary

school. Although we were very young and seemed to not have too much in common,

we somehow found some reasons to bond and create a friendship. It is a

friendship that has become stronger over the time and through our shared life

experiences. He is my exact opposite in terms of physical attributes. He is

taller than me with dark hair and black eyes. He also has better fashion sense

than I have with his standard jean pants and black shirt. Black is his

favorite color, so it tends to show up in most of his clothes. He is also

more sociable than I am. Because of his talent for drawing, he often attracts

people to look at his 3D designs on his laptop. He has a creative mind, so he

has a lot of projects that he works on whenever he has some free time. He is

the friend that I come to when I feel troubled or pressured. It is his voice of

reason that helps me calm down and reminds me to remain composed at all times.

He is my best friend because he cares about me and works on our friendship with

me. I can only hope that we will be friends forever.

9. PLEASURES OF WATCHING A

the sort of programs which are liked the most. Television watching is

entertaining as well as informative. Programs on current affairs enlighten

us. However, like every invention of science, TV has darker aspects also.

Excessive TV watching proves harmful. So, let us be moderate in enjoying the

pleasures of television.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

our country celebrated its Republic Day on 26th January. i could not go to India Gate lawns to watch the parade of

different states. Therefore, I had to sit in front of my TV I was surprised at

the smart uniforms and the enthusiasm of different battalions of ail the three

branches of the forces. They were followed by the young brave children who

seemed to be very happy on the elephants as all of them had received bravery

awards. The tableau of the states was the main attraction as the colorful artists

presented the dances of their states with a message. The people gathered there,

were impressed by the school children who presented a number of items. I also

wanted to join them. Afterward, I realised that on TV I was only able to
