DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5902 Freedom is a concept frequently used in our daily lives as we interact with one another in society. Everyone wants to be free. We realize that it is a concept that is not clearly understood by many people causing misunderstandings among people. It is an existential problem that continues to persist. It is a topic that philosophers such as Simone De Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Maurice Merleau-Ponty have addressed. De Beauvoir is an existential philosopher who has extensively dealt with freedom in her works. It is impossible to discuss freedom while ignoring the problem of human dignity. It is also noted that certain circumstances undermine the girl child's dignity as she attempts to define and find purpose in her life, making her appear unauthentic. Therefore, our main concern in this article is to show how De Beauvoir understood dignity. Then using her views on freedom, we elucidate how it enhances the dignity of the girl child today. The article expresses why the girl child and not boy child by using the example of the Maasai community in Kenya. Lastly, the researchers give some objections and conclude the findings. DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5903 The ecosystems of many cities in emerging nations are changing and being modified. Approximately 10 million hectares of the global forest cover are being used for various purposes. Between 1995 and 2025, agriculture in Nigeria is expected to rise by 10 million hectares, while forest cover is expected to decline by 1.9 million hectares. This shows that Nigeria has been through a wide range of changes to its land use and land cover. This study examines the patterns and trends of land use and land cover changes in Udu Local Government Area, Southern (Niger Delta area) Nigeria from 2000 to 2020 with the goal of providing appropriate information for accurate monitoring and efficient planning. The research made use of Landsat 8 satellite imagery of 2000, 2010 and 2020. Remote sensing and Geographical Information System techniques as well as supervised image classification method were used to assess the magnitude of changes in the city over the study period. DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5904 It is undeniable that high temperatures, especially those that are above 35 degrees Celsius, make people feel "uncomfortable," which impairs their ability to work and think clearly, makes them irritable, hinders their capacity to attain their typical productivity, and makes them frustrated. One turns to what drives him to work— coffee, tea, and chocolate —to get over this dissatisfaction. Therefore, predicting per capita of coffee and caffeine consumption is essential and requires the identification of powerful and effective methodologies capable of deducing random dependency between the past and the future and creating an accurate prediction of future behavior. In this study, we use deep learning models for time series prediction with multiple steps ahead and evaluate their effectiveness, in forecasting the three-time series; KSA per-capita coffee consumption data from 1961 to 2019, KSA Percentage distribution of Employment-to-Population Ratio from Age of 15 Years Old from the Second Quarter (Q2) in the year 2016 to Second Quarter in the year 2022, and Average temperatures in some province from north to south of Saudi Arabia. Realizing the direction of the curve of these data statistics through extracting effective features in prediction by learning from the raw inputs. Experimental analysis shows that the suggested one-dimensional approaches; the convolution neural network 1D-CNN, convolution Long Short-Term Memory networks or 1D-ConvLSTM, and Encoder-Decoder LSTM or ED-LSTM can predict future values of coffee per capita consumption with high predictive accuracy. Furthermore, it sought to figure out the significant difference between elementary teachers' technology research management and research engagement as the data is compared based on their sex, generation, position, and years of engagement as a researcher on their schools' research projects. It tried to find out the challenges met by elementary teachers regarding technology research management. Moreover, this study gathered 159 elementary teachers who have involvement in schools' research projects across Zamboanga City who were selected through a purposive sampling method to share their technological managerial practices in research and their engagement. Also, it employed mixed method design to gain the answers to all aforementioned research problems. The study examined the relationship between teachers' technological research management and their research engagement. The findings revealed that teachers were moderately skilled in managing technology research and highly engaged in research. The cognitive aspect of research engagement was positively influenced by social media communication, while the behavioral and affective aspects were influenced by technical writing and social media communication. This suggests that teachers' technological research management significantly influences their research engagement. Demographic profiles did not show a significant difference in technological research management and research engagement. However, challenges such as time flexibility, limited resources, lack of competence, and limited opportunity hindered teachers' technology research management and engagement. The study recommends including technology research management and engagement in Schools' Improvement Plans to promote research culture and integrating technology management in schools. It also suggests developing technology research training to enhance teachers' competence and addressing the challenges to encourage educational research in schools, aligning with the vision of the Department of Education. technology research management, engagement, elementary teachers Download full manuscript.......
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5906 Globally, corporate social responsibility has gained attention from media, academicians, politicians, practitioners and among business managers. More so, the increased economic engagement between China and Africa has heightened concerns about Chinese companies' social responsibility practices in the region. This article conducts a meta-analytic review of existing relevant literature on the evolution, controversies, and practical implications for corporate social responsibility in Sino-Africa relations. This review investigated the development of social responsibility and identified areas that will inform future studies. The study methodology was pegged on a review of articles on CSR and content analysis of CSR reports from several Chinese companies operating in Africa. In conclusion, the authors argue that there is need for a consensus to have a working definition of corporate social responsibility that suits African perspectives. Furthermore, legislation of CSR in Africa could provide clear guidelines for Chinese companies, particularly those that are smaller in size often do not publish CSR reports and struggle to meet their CSR commitments. corporate social responsibility, evolution, controversies, Sino-Africa relations, meta-analysis Download full manuscript.......
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5907 The creation of comprehensive flexible learning programs tailor-fit to modality adjustments, was one of the primary educational landscape challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic. In line with the CHED Memo 4 s. 2020 that outlined the necessary features of programs for flexible learning, the College of Accountancy and Business Administration (CABA) at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV), implemented the Flexible Learning Development Plan (FLDP). This study gauged the performance of the faculty members involved in its execution during the first semester of the Academic Year 2020–2021 as a factor in a proposed improvement plan meant to enhance best practices and professional development. A descriptive quantitative design that utilized the Weighted Mean, ANOVA, and Tukey's HSD test was used to answer critical questions pertaining to faculty performance in terms of: (1) personal, student, and supervisor evaluations in delivering the FLDP; (2) significant difference between the evaluations; and (3) areas that may be interpreted as strengths and weaknesses. After the rigorous testing and subsequent analysis, the results suggest that the FLDP is more than effective, since the grand weighted means of all eight key areas (i.e. communication, reaching out to every student, experience of learning provided to students, assessment, time management, interaction between and among students, viable plans for every student's active participation, and essential deliverables) are highly satisfactory. Despite this, there are key areas in the FLDP that must be preserved, sustained, or improved; all of which will be accomplished by the strategies suggested in this study. open learning, adaptive teaching, educational enhancement, educational management, professional development Download full manuscript.......

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5909 The definition of authenticity is still debated among philosophers and remains mainly obscure in the views of the majority of people. Our culture, for example, has believed for generations that one should "be oneself," an imperative known as authenticity. The term 'authenticity' refers to an agreement between how something appears and what it actually is in all its applications. It implies something true and permanent. Furthermore, the ideal of "being oneself" necessitates the possibility of being "not oneself," which makes it difficult to imagine how any individual could be anything other than who they are. Jean-Paul Sartre describes authenticity as an ideal ontological state. It is an approach to the predicament and absurdity of human existence as political, social, and metaphysical beings. At the core of Sartre's conception of freedom is the notion of ‘radical freedom,' which holds that humans have the capacity to choose whatever life they wish to live, but such a choice is equally forcefully and tied to responsibility. Humans must be able to bear the consequences of their choices in order to be authentically free. Sartre finds such freedom both liberating and frightening. This freedom places upon us the value of introspection, personal choices and the potentially transformative power of accepting the right to live as we choose. This study analyses the ethical relevance of Sartre’s concept of authenticity. We argue that, for authenticity in people's lives, freedom in their daily endeavors and solidarity in their social and personal lives are indispensable. We pursue this inquiry by distinguishing between authenticity and concepts such as bad faith. We maintain that authenticity must account for personal liberation from the entanglement of societal norms and conventions that may sometimes limit our human potential and creativity. Accordingly, we contend that we can be ourselves by acting in accordance with our necessary dispositions in a given context. DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5910 This paper discusses the preparation and morphology of nanosilica produced from rice husk ash powder (WRHAP) by the precipitation method. There were three steps involved in the production of nanosilica from WRHAP using the precipitation method which involved extraction of silica from WRHAP, formation of silica gel and extraction of pure silica through the reflux process. The precipitation process of WRHAP was carried out using chemical treatments. The morphology of nanosilica particles observed under Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) showed the agglomeration of particles with spherical shape with diameters of 87 nm, 53 nm and 2 nm. The presence of siloxane bond was evident with the appearance of strong peaks in the silica nanosilica powder analysed using Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR). A broad peak centred at 2θ angle of 22o was detected in the x-ray spectra (XRD) of nanosilica powder indicated an amorphous structure of pure silica, with the presence of small peaks due to some residues from the precipitation process. agriculture waste, white rice husk ash, rice husk, precipitation process, silica, microstructures Download full manuscript.......

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5917 Satellite based remote sensing techniques and GIS have demonstrated their efficacy in quantitative and qualitative assessment of drainage basin. The drainage system's quantitative analysis is a crucial component of watershed characterization. Morphometry deals with mathematical quantifying of various aspects of basin. The present study focuses on the morphometric analysis of Kanchi River watershed using remote sensing and GIS approach for optimal management and planning of the basin's groundwater resources. The Kanchi River is one of the major tributaries of Subarnarekha River in eastern India. In this study SRTM (date of acquisition- 2nd January 2015)) is used to extract the crucial hydrological parameters of Kanchi River in ARC GIS 10v. For microlevel morphometric analysis the study area has been divided into 21sub watershed based on 4th stream order and above. The linear, aerial and relief parameters have been calculated and their hydrological inferences were discussed. The drainage area of Kanchi watershed is 1023.68 sq km and the main stream of the basin is of 6th order with dendritic to sub- dendritic and parallel drainage pattern. Most of the morphometric parameters such as bifurcation ratio, drainage density, drainage texture, stream frequency, form factor, basin relief conclude that the basin is elongated in nature with high overland flow due to some structural control. The database generated by the study can provide scientific information for site selection of water recharge structures in the basin. Kanchi river, Morphometry, Remote Sensing and GIS, Watershed. DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5918 Water pollution within mountainous watersheds is recognized as one of the foremost environmental challenges of our era. Extensive research has confirmed that major causes of this pollution are various human activities in natural areas, such as urban expansion, mining operations, and changes in land use. Similar humaninduced impacts can be seen in the Coruh River Basin (CRB) as a result of the building of large dams and roads, mining operations, and urban growth. A thorough investigation is essential to determine the impact of these disturbances on the current surface water quality and to predict the level of water pollution. We chose three subwatersheds, Murgul Creek Watershed (MCW), Fabrika Creek Watershed (FCW), and Hatila Creek Watershed (HCW), within the CRB to assess the effect of disturbances on surface water quality and forecast the level of water pollution. Since each sub-watershed has different land use types and human impacts on it, we expect a different level of water quality status in the three sub-watersheds. Overall, the results demonstrated that apart from the negative impacts of land use type differences on surface water resources, the human-induced degradation clearly has negative impact on the water quality, particularly for some sampling locations and times. In addition, the results revealed that most of the surface water quality parameters in the HCW (mostly forested land) were significantly better than those in the MCW and FCW (both affected by human-induced degradation). The average ammonium concentration were 1.15 mg/l, 0.15 mg/l, and 0.06 mg/l for Murgul, Fabrika, and Hatila Creeks, while the mean nitrate was 2.51 mg/l, 3, 25 mg/l, and 1.79 mg/l, respectively. Moreover, TDS and conductivity values were also measured significantly higher in Murgul (216 mg/l; 443.89 μS/cm) and Fabrika Creeks (175 mg/l; 205.64 μS/cm) than Hatila Creek (111 mg/l; 133.43 μS/cm). Given the identification of certain water quality parameters surpassing critical threshold values, it becomes evident that mitigating the impacts of anthropogenic factors and enhancing land management practices within the study area are imperative. DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5919 Both radiation and chemotherapy are vital treatments for cancer patients, but they have some disadvantages, for example, a greater chance of adverse effects, limited accessibility, and the non-selective character of chemotherapy drugs. The current study's objective was to look at the function of different concentrations of bovine colostrum in enhancing and activating the immune system, reducing immune suppression, and mitigating the effects of the chemotherapy Etoposide on some physiological and immune parameters in male albino rats. Eight groups, consisting of the control group (C) and several treatment groups (T1-T7), were created from forty adult male rats. After a 4-week experimental period, the animals were anesthetized, and blood was directly drawn from the heart for necessary tests. The tests included blood tests (Red blood cell count, Hemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume PCV), immune parameters (C-reactive protein, Interleukin 12, platelet count), and tests for some liver and kidney parameters (Urea, Creatinine, ALT, AST, ALP). Additionally, antioxidant and oxidant tests (MDA, SOD, CAT, GLU) were conducted. According to the findings, the normal values of the parameters that were tested significantly changed when etoposide was used in group T1. However, the use of colostrum at different concentrations with Etoposide for groups T2, T3, and T4 resulted in improvement in the values of the measured parameters, approaching the control group in some cases, especially in group T4 exposed to a dose of colostrum and Etoposide of 1500 IU/kg. On the other hand, groups treated with colostrum alone (T5, T6, T7) indicated results similar to the group under control, and no unfavourable side effects were noticed. In conclusion, the use of chemotherapy Etoposide has negative effects on some physiological and hematological parameters and affects the vital functions of treated rats. Conversely, the study demonstrates the positive role of using colostrum at various concentrations in enhancing immunity and preventing or reducing oxidative stress and inflammation resulting from Etoposide on the vital functions of male albino rats. bovine colostrum, Etoposide, male rats Download full manuscript.......
DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5920 The aim of this study was to test the substitution of fish meal by cowpea meal Vigna unguiculata in order to improving access for local fish farms to a high-performance feed at low cost. The experimental system consisted of two tanks, each containing 30 Clarias gariepinus individuals. In tank T1, the fish were fed with imported fishmeal feed, while in tank T2, they were fed with feed made locally from cowpea meal. During the three-week experiment, mean temperature in the tanks varied between 25±.27 and 26±19, and pH between 7±10 and 8±.09. These values were close to the optimum growth conditions for C. gariepinus fry. Growth data were obtained by evaluating various growth parameters. Data on average length and weight gains showed that the T1 feed had the best results with an increase of 5.83cm and 13.69g, compared with 2.58 cm and 7.02 g for the T2 diet. In terms of feed conversion ratio, the fishmeal-based feed had the lowest value (1.4 compared with 2.32 for local food), which also means that it's the diet most likely to promote weight gain in fish. Similarly, the T1 diet also showed the best Specific Growth Rate (1.61% / day) compared with the T2 diet (0.76% / day). These results suggested that cowpea meal could be used as a feed component in clarias farming, but appears less efficient when used to replace fishmeal entirely. imported feed; local feed; cowpea meal, Clarias gariepinus, growth Download full manuscript.......

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJASR.2024.5923 Nigeria has to create an alternative energy source from untapped wind, which is abundant in the region, in order to fulfill the growing need for clean energy to address the environmental challenges produced by the usage of fossil fuels. This study's objective is to assess seven locations in Nigeria's northwest on their potential for wind energy production. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency provided the 25 years of wind speed data (1996-2020) (NiMeT). In this investigation, the wind power density and wind energy density were derived using the Weibull twoparameter statistical model; the scale parameter (c) and shape parameter (k) were generated using the moment model. The acquired wind speed data was examined using Microsoft Excel. Nigeria's wind speed distribution shows that certain northern regions are capable of producing wind. Furthermore, an assessment of the wind energy resources in the area reveals that Kebbi and Dutse have the lowest potential at 86.52 and 7.69Wm-2 , with WED of 0.998 and 0.712 kWhm-2ð‘‘ð‘Žð‘¦-1 , while Kano and Sokoto recorded the highest potential at 10m AGL, with WPD of 443.03 and 340.67 Wm-2 , respectively, and annual WED of 4.921 and 5.354ð‘˜ð‘Šâ„Žð‘š-2ð‘‘ð‘Žð‘¦-1 . Consequently, Kano, Sokoto, and Katsina are appropriate for large-scale wind power generation, while Gusau and Kaduna are best for small-scale wind power development. But given their poor wind potential, Dutse and Kebbi might not be feasible. It is advised that wind power be properly utilized since it is a significant energy source with enormous potential that will aid Nigeria in resolving its energy crisis. Additionally, since weather patterns throughout Nigeria are becoming more chaotic due to climate change, extensive research should be done to better understand the impact of these trends.
