As for a high school student, my hobby might seem untypical. I design custom clothes for my family and peers. I am a seventeen-year-old boy who knows how to sew an evening dress for my mother or to create a tailored suit for any event. I chose this hobby as I was always interested in fashion, I am good at drawing and sketching, and my progress motivates me. It was always curious looking at people on the street when I was a kid. I noticed patterns, silhouettes, and various combinations. I knew some were good, some didn’t suit people, and some were just outdated. That was the moment when I started to notice the difference between fashion and style. Later, I watched fashion shows and educational YouTube videos. It is my dream to own a fashion brand, so I also paid attention to the business part of the process. Sketching clothes is the first step to their creation. I am a good drawer, so there is no problem showing all of my design ideas on paper. You just need a lot of practice. I needed to hone my skills to make proportions and colors seem as natural as possible. I also try to memorize how people look and draw them when I have an opportunity. I own more than twenty sketchbooks full of ideas and inspiration. The more ideas I generate, the easier it becomes. When I see my old sketches or pieces of clothing that I created, I can notice how much I’ve improved. Hard work and knowledge can make your goals achievable. If I don’t know something, I just search for it on the Internet and try it. Maybe you will need to try more than once, but eventually, I can see the result I want. Fashion is one of my greatest passions. That is why I never hesitate to spend some extra money or effort to create something new. I never regretted choosing fashion over any other hobbies because I always knew I was doing what was suitable for me. I know I developed my taste, drawing skills, and persistence because of this hobby. I hope one day it becomes a profession. Reading has endless number of advantages. By reading a good book, one cannot only earn knowledge but also gain experience in life, and realise the eternal truth. Reading broadens the horizon of thinking of a person, improves vocabulary and cultivates sensitivity towards people of different cultures. A good book can guide one in the right direction in his journey of life. In fact, it has been proved that the mind of a reader is more concentrated and focussed about various aspects of life.

When the mind is focussed, it has the capability to be more attentive in practical situations of life. As a result, the body and mind of such people remain calm; they look at the problem objectively and are better decision makers.

Additionally, reading improves memory as when one reads a book, he/she has to remember an assortment of characters, their backgrounds, ambitions, history, and nuances, as well as the various arcs and sub-plots. Reading, according to me is one habit that is without any drawbacks. In my opinion, everyone should cultivate the habit of reading, be it reading just anything.

And no movie can match up the charm of reading. All the characters looked better and justified in the book rather than in the movie based on it. I also believe that after reading so much I have a lot to narrate to the world. Well, who knows this hobby turned into passion can turn me into a writer someday, or may inspire me to open my own library someday.

My Special Hobby 

My favourite hobby is watching TV. Whenever I have free time, I love watching Television. It never obstructs my studies. Hobbies help us to expand our knowledge, and it teaches us several things. First, I like to finish all my school homework and then start watching TV. This lightens my mood and sparks up the excitement inside me, as it increases my curiosity about the world. Watching different useful stuff on TV enhances my knowledge horizons and gives me lots of joy. 

Benefit of My Hobby

It is a good habit because watching TV escorts a lot of knowledge in various fields. There are several channels on TV, which represent worldwide affairs. I watch the news and I like channels, such as animal planet, discovery channel or another informative channel. These channels increase my curiosity and encourage me to learn about different aspects of life.

I interestingly watch a cartoon network that provides me with creative and new ideas to make cartoons and arts. Some of my favourite comics are Mr Bean, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and many more. Many art-themed cartoons, like The Pink Panther and SpongeBob, inspire me to draw them. Primarily, the artworks of comics attract me and inspire me to decorate my scrapbooks with their figures. 

Parents Find Hobbies Useful

My parents praise my hobby, and they are also happy when they see me watching national and international news and several events on the TV. Moreover, they feel proud when they listen to the news update from me. 

Now, I study in class with two and eight years old girls. Creating jokes, sitting idle and spending time roaming around is unproductive, according to my parents. My parents made sure that I developed my hobbies from childhood. Therefore, they encouraged me to create some good habits. 

Watching TV in a proper way gives you so many important roles. It helps us to make something creative. It provides us with knowledge about different places, their cultures, climatic conditions and especially their history. It also helps in our overall development and ignites our hidden talents and passions. So it is essential to have hobbies in our lives.

Several Aspects of Watching TV as an Hobby

Watching TV is not only about fun and joy; it also introduces us to new characters and stories to analyse. Every show comes with a new set of characters and stories that tickles our brains. As a hobby, you can compare these different storylines and their characters with one another. 

There are different types of programs on TV that are so crucial to enhancing our awareness about worldwide matters. TV channels also telecast different types of educational programs to improve our knowledge of history, science, economics, math, culture, and geography etc. In such programs, you get to analyse the different acting styles, writing and overall good and bad behaviours of various communities, their thoughts and cultures.

And this is the most valuable part of my hobby. Television brings together numerous elements of imagination and ideas from different genres and allows me to explore them.

You can have more than one hobby, as they are not restricted to any particular limit. All the things that you have an interest in can be regarded as a hobby. A person can have multiple areas of interest and have more than one activity as a hobby. 

I, too, have more than one hobby. Other than watching TV, I like to listen to music. This helps me keep myself calm after doing lots of work and gives my ears and heart a soothing effect. 

Besides these, I also have hobbies, such as reading comic books, painting, writing narrative stories, and maintaining a scrapbook. These activities make me happy and enhance my hidden qualities. Writing and reading boost my imagination. Along with these activities, I participate in gardening in my leisure time because I love to plant new and colourful flowers. 

Moreover, I like dancing and singing. These are the activities I often do whenever I find time after completing my studies and homework. I do participate in singing and dancing competitions as well because I like to sing and dance. My teachers and parents always appreciate and encourage me to pursue my hobbies.

A hobby or something you enjoy adds interest and charm to your day. I'm going to talk to you about my favourite pastime, which is dancing. Today, practically everyone is so busy keeping up with their busy schedules that they feel short of time. Similar is the case with me, as I need to devote a huge amount of time to my studies, entrance exam preparations, and coaching. However, I ensure that I spare at least 30 minutes a day to dance. Dancing relieves me of the day’s stress and I feel energetic to swiftly finish all tasks at hand. I am a good dancer, and have been awaredec various prizes in school for my wins in different competitions.

Out of my many interests, I would call reading my favourite hobby. I like to read for fun. Reading not only makes us happy but also broadens our understanding. Reading is a crucial activity that aids in developing skills and is beneficial. A good book makes us happy and also expands our knowledge. I make sure that I read at least for an hour everyday, which is usually before going to bed. Reading at bedtime not only relaxes my mind, but also welcomes a good night’s sleep.

Why it is important to read books is because:-

Expands Knowledge | We know that reading books broadens our understanding of various topics. Different books touch upon different themes. Some educate us in Hindi, while others instruct us in Math or English.

Enriches Vocabulary | We pick up new words through reading books. It assists us in incorporating numerous unique and valuable terms into our daily lives.

Gives Peace | There is no physical exercise involved in reading books; instead, it is a very relaxing habit. It can be carried out in total silence and promotes inner tranquilly.

Fosters Imagination | Reading is a great way to improve our imagination, since, it is natural for human beings to create visuals in their mind of what they read in text. So, the more one reads, the more they imagine.

If I have to choose one out of all my hobbies, I will choose cricket. One of the most well-known sports in India is cricket. It is one of the sports practised widely in practically every country. The equipment needed for this activity is a wooden bat and a ball. There are two teams in this game, each with eleven players. The goal of this game is to score the most runs possible. This game is played outside on a field maintained explicitly for the occasion.

I have many interests, but I enjoy playing cricket the most. It also keeps me energised and helps me feel stronger and healthier. My interest in cricket began when I was just five years old. I was drawn to it as a sport and was enthralled by this activity. I used to be so hurried when I got home from school that I would play cricket right after eating my supper. I was a well-known student-athlete at the school.

Dhoni: My Inspiration

Like many other people, I was inspired to start playing by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former Indian cricket team captain. My goal is to play like Dhoni. Even though I’m generously appreciated by my spectators during my matches, I am usually never delighted. I've always aimed to outperform myself. My love of cricket helped me become well-known in my school. In addition, I received a certificate commending me on the day of my school farewell.

Every person perfectly understands that education and work are very important nowadays. However, sometimes they forget that it is necessary to have time for oneself in order to engage in a business that brings pleasure, but does not bring money. I mean the hobby that everyone likes to ask about when dating. Each person in one way or another likes to do something that is completely unrelated to the field of activity where they work. I believe that a hobby is necessary for every person, because in this way he can distract himself from problems at work and relax mentally and physically.

Personally, my hobby changed several times due to the fact that I could not understand what I would get the thrill from. I tried to try different sports, embroidery, dancing, but everything was in vain. But still, I understood what I wanted, but I just couldn’t find a normal extracurricular activity that would help me reveal my talent. I have loved singing since I was a child, so my kindergarten teachers noticed this and told my music teacher about it. At that moment, I did not yet understand that this would become the main occupation in my future. She began to tell me the basics of vocals, we practiced a lot and at one of the children’s mornings, she invited me to sing a New Year’s song. Of course, I was delighted and immediately agreed to her proposal.

After several years, when I could not find any teacher who would help me develop my talent, I suddenly meet a girl who also likes to sing. She recommended me her own teacher, to whom I came and for four years now I have been devoting all my free time to my favorite business.

My vocal history did not end only with singing, because in the cultural center in which I practiced, I was noticed by the directors who decided to put on a New Year’s play again, so they offered me to play the main role in the children’s play “Beauty and the Beast”. I was delighted with this offer, because I could never have thought that I would develop my acting skills. Everything went great, the kids loved it, and we got a huge kick out of what we were doing.

But who knew that it was kindergarten that would help me find my favorite hobby, which I have been passionate about for several years in a row.

To be honest, until this moment I hated reading books, because I considered it a boring thing that I didn’t need. But once I read a book on psychology and was delighted that I read almost 500 pages in two days. Currently, I choose those books that I consider necessary and that will bring me not only benefit, but also pleasure while reading. What I want to say is that everyone should have an occupation that brings them pleasure.

Finding a hobby was quite difficult, but I just didn’t listen to what my heart was telling me. It is thanks to the hobby that I distract myself from all problems and, at least for a certain time, forget that there are obstacles in life. Chanting helps me to release all the pain that has accumulated over several days, weeks or months. With the help of a hobby, I open my heart to something new and bring my joy to other people.

I believe that in the future, a hobby can also help a person find his own path in life, because in this way you will already understand what you want to get from this life.

Quite often I meet people who have no hobbies, so when they have a lot of free time, they just sit around and get bored. But if they had a hobby that brings them pleasure, then their free time could be filled with a business that brings not only benefit, but also pleasure.
