    The Latino History Essay Competition provides students the opportunity to explore the "historical and cultural legacies of Latinos in Texas history." These SSHS students, along with the other 14 finalists, will attend an awards ceremony at the UIL Academic State Meet in May, where 6 students in each event will receive state medals.
