Starting a Recruiter cover letter should be done professionally and engagingly. Begin by addressing the hiring manager by name if possible, as it personalizes your letter. If you don't know their name, use a professional greeting like "Dear Hiring Manager." Then, introduce yourself and state the position you're applying for. Make sure to mention where you found the job posting. The opening paragraph should also include a compelling statement about why you're interested in the role and the value you can bring to the company. This will grab the reader's attention and make them want to learn more about you.

The best way for recruiters to end a cover letter is by summarizing the key points, expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity, and providing a clear call to action. This could be an invitation for a follow-up conversation or an indication of next steps. For example, "I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can contribute to your team. I will follow up next week to see if we can arrange a time to speak." It's also important to end on a professional note with a formal closing such as "Sincerely" or "Best regards," followed by your name and contact information. This approach leaves a positive impression, shows initiative, and encourages further communication.

Recruiters, when writing a cover letter, should include the following elements: 1. Introduction: Start with a strong opening that grabs the reader's attention. This could be a brief introduction about yourself and your role as a recruiter, and why you are reaching out. 2. Company Understanding: Show that you have done your homework about the company you are recruiting for. Mention something specific about the company that impresses you or aligns with your values. This shows that you are not just sending out generic letters. 3. Role Understanding: Clearly state the role you are recruiting for and why you think it is an exciting opportunity. This will help the candidate understand what the job involves and why they should be interested. 4. Candidate Value: Explain why you believe the candidate would be a good fit for the role. This could be based on their skills, experience, or something unique they bring to the table. This shows the candidate that you have taken the time to understand their profile and believe in their potential. 5. Call to Action: End the letter with a clear call to action. This could be an invitation to an interview, a request for further information, or a suggestion to visit the company's website for more details about the role. 6. Professional Closing: Close the letter professionally, thanking the candidate for their time and expressing hope to hear from them soon. Include your contact details for any further queries. Remember, the cover letter should be concise, professional, and personalized for each candidate. It should not only sell the role but also build a relationship with the candidate, making them feel valued and excited about the opportunity.

Recruiter   Cover Letter

Recruiter cover letter (with examples).

As if writing a cover letter wasn’t enough pressure, writing one for a recruitment manager position serves as an extra job qualification test all on its own.

Your letter is more than just an introduction. You have to prove that you understand the hiring process, know what components a great cover letter should have, and know the standards and good practices of the proper layout. Your cover letter should be a paradigm.

That’s a tall order, but don’t panic — we’re here to help.

Looking for a job? These position are hiring now near you:

  • Recruiter Associate
  • Junior Recruiter
  • Professional Recruiter
  • Staffing Recruiter

What Is a Cover Letter and Why Is It Important?

A cover letter is a brief letter of introduction that usually accompanies a resume . It’s a prime opportunity to introduce yourself, highlight your skills, accomplishments, and goals, and explain what you hope to bring to the company if hired.

One major benefit to including a cover letter in addition to your resume is the opportunity to elaborate and provide more information that may not be as easily conveyed in a resume’s typical bullet-point format.

A cover letter may also be paired with a letter of intent , which is a more generalized interest toward any open position at a desirable company, not necessarily targeted toward a specific job opening.

Parts of a Recruitment Manager Cover Letter

Even though your cover letter needs to carry more weight, that doesn’t mean you need to reinvent the wheel. Regardless of whether your cover letter is geared toward an entry-level position , managerial position, or job promotion , there are key parts of a standard cover-letter formula you need to include:

Your contact information

The organization’s information

Dear [Manager Name],

First paragraph: intent and opening hook

Second paragraph: main body with key skills and accomplishments in relation to the job requirements

Third paragraph: closing lines with a compelling call to action

Best regards, followed by name and title

Every sentence needs to count. You have only one page to grab a hiring manager ’s attention, so you can’t afford to waste any space. Layout is important, but if graphic design isn’t your thing, use free cover letter templates to ensure your formatting is professional and standard.

Search For Recruiter Jobs

Recruitment manager cover letter opening.

Your cover letter is going to be carefully scrutinized to see if you know what you’re doing, so don’t forget the basics. It’s important to include the contact information for both you and the company you are applying at the top of the letter. A hiring manager should not have to hunt for this information; make it as easy as possible to locate.

Address your cover letter to the hiring manager by name. If you don’t know the hiring manager’s name , use a gender-neutral greeting such as “Dear [Company Name] Recruitment Manager.”

Keep in mind that addressing your letter to “Sir or Madam” isn’t likely to make a great first impression. The impersonal greeting feels generic and may send the wrong message that you’re using the same letter for multiple employers without taking the time to personalize each one.

While a neutral “ Dear Hiring Manager” or similar phrase is acceptable instead of a name, consider mentioning the company and/or department to make it a little more personalized.

A strong opening is imperative. If you don’t catch a hiring manager’s attention in the first couple of sentences, they aren’t likely to continue reading.

Start your cover letter by announcing your application to the position and following it with an impactful achievement. Numbers and statistics are particularly eye-catching, so if possible, quantify your accomplishment with percentages or dollar amounts.

Example Cover Letter Opening:

Jane Doe Recruitment Manager 9876 Home Avenue Sample, NC 27010 123-867-5309 [email protected] linkedin.com/in/janedoe March 10, 2021 John Smith HR Manager Big Global Company 5432 Bustle Street Commerce, CA 94108 Dear Mr. Smith, I am applying for the Recruitment Manager position at Big Global Company. With eight years of experience as a recruitment manager at Ecom Staffing, I supervised and coached ten recruiters and successfully recruited more than three thousand new corporate employees. I believe a position at Big Global Company is the right choice for my skill set, experience, and career goals.

Note that the applicant in the example didn’t rely on market buzzwords and empty, generic claims; she gave exact numbers to demonstrate her years of experience, the size of the team she managed, and the number of new employees she recruited. This technique is much more likely to grab the reader ’s attention.

Recruitment Manager Cover Letter Body

If your opening hook did its job, you now have a hiring manager’s undivided attention, but now you need to keep it. To prove that you’re the ideal candidate for the position, you need to explain:

Why you want this job

The skills that qualify you for the specific requirements of the job

Why you are the perfect fit for the position

It’s not uncommon for less qualified applicants to waste their main pitch listing out their general skills and accomplishments that have nothing to do with the specifics of the job listing. Clearly, those candidates didn’t do any research on the position.

But you know better — rehashing the bullet points on your resume without providing any additional insight is not going to impress a recruitment manager .

You need to demonstrate that you fully understand what’s expected of you in this job position, then directly tie your skills to the company’s needs to prove that you are the best candidate for the job .

Example Cover Letter Body:

My primary goal is to optimize the screening process for quality and efficiency to ensure the best candidates are recruited, and I’m especially interested in the culture, innovation, and potential for future development with Big Global Company. Your job listing specifies that you’re searching for a leader who can screen 2,000+ applicants per year, create strategic recruiting processes, and work closely with executive leadership. My track record at Ecom proves that I have those necessary skills: Applicant screening: Utilized targeted assessments and behavioral interviews to screen 10,000+ applicants over the last four years Strategic recruiting processes: Developed new processes that resulted in a record-breaking 73% reduction in time to fill Executive collaboration: Worked with the VP of HR and the finance executives to analyze areas of improvement and implement new software solutions

Note that the applicant clearly understands what would be expected of her in this role based on the job description. She breaks down her exact qualifications to meet every requirement in a concise, easy-to-read format.

Recruitment Manager Cover Letter Closing Lines

By this point, your content is looking good, but now isn’t the time to drop the ball and leave your great pitch hanging. You need to carry that momentum through the finish line with an equally strong closing to ensure that you leave a lasting impression.

Finish your letter with a concise recap and optimistic closing to remind the hiring manager why you are the perfect candidate for this job.

Example Cover Letter Closing:

I look forward to discussing how my leadership and communication skills, as well as my extensive background in sales, can help you expand your recruitment process at Big Global Company and maintain the business’s reputation as a premier corporate recruiting firm. Best regards, Jane Doe Recruitment Manager 123-867-5309 [email protected]

Note that instead of simply saying “ Thanks for your time ,” the applicant wrapped up her closing in a way that demonstrates her knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine desire for the company’s success.

Example of a Recruitment Manager Cover Letter

Putting all the parts together illustrates how the ideal cover letter should start with an attention-grabber right off the bat and keep that same level of energy and competency throughout the entire pitch.

Jane Doe Recruitment Manager 9876 Home Avenue Sample, NC 27010 123-867-5309 [email protected] linkedin.com/in/janedoe March 10, 2021 John Smith HR Manager Big Global Company 5432 Bustle Street Commerce, CA 94108 Dear Mr. Smith, I am applying for the Recruitment Manager position at Big Global Company. Tips for a Recruitment Manager Cover Letter

Use confident language. This is a managerial position, not an entry-level job , so a high level of leadership and confidence is expected in a candidate. Instead of using weak words and phrases like “would” or “may” to undermine your skills, choose absolute phrases like “did” or “will.”

Use numbers to cite quantifiable achievements. Instead of saying, “I helped my previous company’s employee retention rate,” give a specific number to make the accomplishment more impactful: “I facilitated a 12% increase in employee retention.”

Get references. Utilize referrals from colleagues who can attest to your leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. Employers seeking to fill a management role usually search for a candidate who can upskill and mentor a team. You can mention a referral in your cover letter if you already have one.

Final Thoughts

There’s certainly an extra layer of pressure for a recruitment manager going through the job application, interview, and hiring process . Your methods will be scrutinized every step of the way and presumed to be the standard by which you will operate in the position, so there isn’t any room for error.

The cover letter is just the first hurdle — you also need to be prepared to follow up with the recruiter , respond properly to a recruiter’s email if interested , and send a “ thank you for your consideration” email or note. And that’s just the first leg of the race before the interview.

If you have the experience and knowledge and take advantage of our tools, tips, and templates, there’s no reason to panic. Just remember to make your pitch utilizing the best practices you’ve observed in your own role when recruiting new applicants.

The cover letter is kind of a test for you. It tests to see whether you can craft a compelling narrative about yourself. By testing your cover letter writing abilities, the company is trying to assess whether or not you would be able to craft compelling narratives on behalf of that company in the future.

Many companies will let you optionally attach a cover letter along with your application. If you take this as a challenge for yourself and do so, it will showcase your firm commitment to the company, and allows you to tell a story about yourself as a leader and as a collaborator. A solid cover letter will leave a long-lasting impression in the recruiters mind and will help make you stand out from other candidates.

And here's the most important reason of all: the process involved is more important than the output. When you get into the cover letter writing process, you're compelled to figure out the story about yourself, and how you are the best solution for the company's pain.

You're advised to conduct pre-interview research about the company so that you know exactly what you're meant to tackle, and you know exactly how to position yourself throughout the interview. Once you've written your Junior Recruiter cover letter, you'll have a mental reference point about how you want to talk about yourself across all of your interviews, and that's incredibly valuable!

Structure of the Junior Recruiter cover letter

The most effective and impact making cover letters consists of three core parts.

The first part is the introduction. The first paragraph should include the following key details: which company you're applying to, what role you're applying to, and a summary of how you will add value to the company.

Many cover letters fail to mention either the job title or the name of the company. This provides a clear indication to the employer that you're using the same cover letter for many companies, which further indicates that you aren't serious enough or you don't care enough about making a good impression. If this is the case, it's better to not write a cover letter at all! And, always make sure you're sending the right cover letter to the right company.

Most of the time, applicants take advantage of cover letter examples or cover letter samples , and forget to clean it up. You need to ensure that you've put in all the hard work in personalization of your cover letter - be professional!

It shouldn't really be about you - rather, it should be about how you're excited about what the company is doing, and about how you're the perfect fit to solve their needs. And if you feel that you can't directly address the job requirements on the company website, you may need to consider applying for a different role instead.

The second part is the narrative. The second paragraph includes your story where you tell about yourself, and where you showcase that your past experiences have made you capable enough to be the best suited candidate available for that specific position.

Use it to address questions that might come up in an interview, such as “what was your proudest moment”, “how did you overcome failure”, and “tell us about a time when you took an initiative from start to end successfully.”

Always remember to customize your cover letter to the specific employer and the specific role that you're applying for rather than using a standard one for all which lands in the bin.

Finally, the last part is the conclusion. In the last & closing paragraph, summarize what value addition you'll bring to the company and why you're the perfect fit for the specific role. Express your excitement about being a part of the team in the near future. Remind them that they should reach out to you to schedule an interview so that they can learn more about how you're the best person to solve their problems.

With a cover letter created with the above structure, you're definitely gonna leave a solid impression that will grab the attention of hiring managers which significantly increases your chances of getting a job interview.

Before you write a single word of your cover letter, you must first prepare your thoughts and pen down on a blank paper.

Ask questions to yourself like: What are your strengths? Where do you stand as a Junior Recruiter? Which of your work experiences is the best so far for the companies you've worked with?

Similarly, conduct research on the company . What is their product, their competitors, their mission, and what is their culture? What problem statement are they trying to solve with the Junior Recruiter role that you're applying to?

So now you must be having 2 stories - one for you and the other of the company. Write down both the stories on a paper. Review your two stories and your pre-interview research, and use that to hammer out your introduction and your conclusion. !

Now bring the whole thing down to a single page eliminating all the unnecessary and unrequired stuff. When the hiring managers assess your cover letter or your resume, they do not evaluate you on the basis of your sum of your experiences but on the average of your experiences. Hence, try to eliminate or cut out every single irrelevant word you've put in as it's gonna bring down the averages of your experience.

One of the simple ways to make sure that your cover letter stands out from the numerous other candidates' cover letters is to personalize your cover letter which helps you grab the hiring manager's attention. Express your enthusiasm about the job showcasing why you're the perfect fit for that specific role and how excited you are to be the part of the team.

Make use of the job description to which you are applying for which will help you to write a cover letter that clearly demonstrates how your skills, experience, or background make you the best available candidate to be a Junior Recruiter for the company. You should demonstrate exactly how much you are interested in the organization and the position, showing that you are able to meet the needs of the company.

Don't forget to learn about the organization. Take some time out to peruse the company's website and learn their values, mission, and then incorporate that information in your cover letter. Let the recruiters know how you came across this position and detail how your ideals are in line with the organization's goals and how your plans for your career can benefit their objectives.

Always make sure you only focus on the skills in the cover letter which the organisation demands and have highlighted in their job description. Specifically, the ones that are listed as being required separately, do not forget to put them in. Give a brief on these skills by offering concrete examples of how you are using or have used them with any success story(if any).

Proofreading & Iterating - Once you're finished writing your cover letter, edit your cover letter and ask for the feedback from your friend or of you have any consultant/mentor, and repeat this process until you and your reviewer agree and are satisfied that you are the best fit for the job from all other candidates that are applying. Learn to use grammarly .

Key points to remember - don't worry too much about the salutation or the greeting. It doesn't matter whether you use "dear sir or madam" or "dear hiring manager" or "to whomsoever it may concern" - the ultimate goal is to demonstrate that you're the stand out candidate out of everyone who's applying for that job posting. Just focus on the core value that you're bringing to the company! If you experience difficulty in composing your cover letter professionally, you can hire an essay writer at CustomWritings to have your cover letter or job application paper written from scratch.
