Business Process Re-Engineering In Automobile Industry : A Case Study Of Ford Motor Company

Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) is an essential change in the processes and structure of any company. That change can be related to work force, business processes, IT infrastructure, etc. In this case study, the focus towards BPR was restricted to the changing regime of FORD Motor Company since 1900s. A critical evaluation of Ford was made with the help of Situation-Actor-Process and Learning-Action-Performance (SAPLAP Analysis), Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat (SWOT Analysis), Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Social (PESTEL Analysis) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA).The results revealed that Ford is a very dynamic company which changes as per the requirement of the market. Repeated BPR activities helped the company in remaining the world leader till date.

The objective of the paper is to examine patient satisfaction in the public and private hospitals using the SERVQUAL model in Pakistan. Around the world hospitals appear to gradually focus on their strategies of service quality. With a growing competition service quality plays a critical part in public and private hospitals of Pakistan. Now-a-days, patients' satisfaction is one of the very important quality aspects in healthcare sectors. Self-administered questionnaire was used to measure the satisfaction level of the patients in which patient satisfaction was measured on the basis of five dimensions such as empathy, responsiveness, tangibility, reliability and assurance. Five point Likert scale were implied to collect data from respondents (N=550). More data was collected from private hospitals. Females made larger proportion of study's respondents. Inter-item reliability was found to proceed with the statistics of the data. Moderate consistency was found. Using SPSS software, data was analyzed and find regression, descriptive statistics and reliability analyses. The findings of this study signifies, all the dimension of SERVQUAL model are significantly related with the Patient satisfaction, in addition our study also signified that there is a significant difference among public & private sector hospitals in terms of patient satisfaction. So, to improve service quality of hospitals, all the service quality dimensions needed to be improved. The more improved and hygienic physical accessories will improve patients' satisfaction. Reliable service will enhance patient's satisfaction and they will contact same hospital every time they face health issue. More attention and empathy will enhance patient's satisfaction and trust. The study concludes with managerial implications and future directions.

The main concern of an organization is the need to encapsulate strategies for the transformation of the implicit knowledge to overt knowledge so as to derive greater benefit from the organization's intellectual capital. Knowledge management is the comprehensive means of organizing, transferring, locating and utilizing the information and proficiency in an organization. The general purpose of this research is to examine the effect of knowledge management practices on competitive advantage in selected organizations in Nigeria. The study made use of a sample of214 staff from Banks and telecommunications operators in the Lagos State, Nigeria. A cross sectional survey that consist of drawing a sample of elements from the population of interest was adopted, and the statistical tool used comprised frequency, correlation as well as regression analysis. The findings indicated that information technology application had the highest positive effect on competitive advantage. Secondly, it shows that organizational learning had no significant relationship with competitive advantage except information technology application, knowledge creation, and intellectual capital asset. It is concluded that information technology application is a vital tool for a successful organization and it is often heavily depended upon as the determinant of success in business. This study therefore recommends that knowledge should not only be embedded in documents or archives, but in organizational procedures, norms, practices, processes and cultures.

India, which ranks third in terms of carbon emissions, has nowadays actively been involved in reducing emissions by promoting public transportation, biofuels, and infrastructure upgrades and subsidies to accommodate electric vehicles (EV). Its policies, however, are rarely formed in response to citizen's perceptions of how other countries are run. In this context, extensive research is vital to understand the pros and cons to overcome challenges by implementing a positive change in the EV policies. This study is intended to investigate how the selected Indian electric car (EC) companies can benefit their clients, who are already feeling the heat because of the current upsurge in fossil fuel prices, as well as to identify a macro and micro depiction of these industries through PESTEL and SWOT analysis by providing discussion points to assist EC policymakers in determining whether their policies are effective for evaluating their performance.
