Aiims ph.d. selection process 2024.

Aspirants must note down the details of the AIIMS Ph.D. Selection Process 2024 from this section. The selection process contains 3 stages. Below are the details stated related to the selection process.

Aptitude-related questions are asked for 30 Marks.

Subject-related questions are asked for 40 Marks.

Special Weightage

• For Medical/ Dental/ Nursing Candidates: 10 Marks (The Special Weightage of 10 marks will be added to the total score of Stages I and II for candidates who fulfill both the following criteria: (1) they are eligible for stage III; and (2) they also hold a Medical Degree (MBBS/ BDS/ MDS/ DNB/ MD/ MS/ DM/ M.Ch.) or M.Sc. (Nursing) or equivalent)
• For Non-Medical Candidates : The Special Weightage 10 marks will be added to the total score of Stages I and II for candidates who fulfill both the following criteria: (1) they are eligible for stage III; and (2) they also have qualified in any one of the following entrance tests in the last 2 years: Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICMR-SRF, DBT-JRF, DBTSRF, NBHM screening test, Graduate aptitude test (GATE), INSPIRE fellowship, UGC-JRF, UGC-SRF, CSIR-JRF, CSIR-SRF, DST-JRF, DST-SRF.

Candidates must score at least 35 marks in Stages I and II (Combined) to be eligible for Stage III. Candidates who do not fulfill the criteria to qualify for stage III will not be suitable for selection.

• Departmental clinical/ practical/lab-based assessment: 20 Marks

AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants for the PhD courses at AIIMS must possess the following qualifications.

• Medical Education qualification: MBBS/BDS with 50% min. or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh or Diplomate of NBE.
• Nursing Qualification- candidates holding M.Sc degree with 50% min. in Nursing speciality may also be able to apply.
• Non- medical candidates- candidates who are not from medical background must have attained a minimum of 60% in a valid 2 years Master degree.

Note: The Candidates who possess M.Sc/ M.tech. Degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-medical qualification category. Do make sure to check the eligibility before applying for an exam.

Method of Cut-Off

At least 50% in each stage of the written test (Stage I and II) to be eligible for Stage III. Special weightage (described in the prospectus) to be added after determining eligibility. Candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for Stage III (Department clinical/ practical/lab based assessment carrying 20 marks)

QUALIFYING IN THE EXAMINATION

Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective test. The passing marks in each of the test will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level.

Marks obtained in the Online test will be reckoned for shortlisting for interview. Accordingly, candidates will be called for interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the Online test will be called for the interview in the ratio of 1:5. Mere eligibility/ pass in the test shall not vest any right for being called for interview. The list of candidates shortlisted for interview, will be made available on website.

Read Candidates for Important Instruction

Candidates Are Not Allowed To Carry Any Electronic/Mechanical Communication Device Including Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphone, Tablet Etc. Calculators, Books, Scale Or Drawing Instruments Are Not Allowed Inside The Examination Hall. The Commission Shall Not Be Responsible For Safe Custody Of Mobile Phones Etc.

And As Such Will Have No Liability In Case Of Loss Or Damage. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Hall until an hour has elapsed from the commencement of the examination nor during the last 30 minutes of the allotted time without submitting the Booklets.

Answer Sheet : The AIIMS PhD Entrance Candidate should hand over the OMR Answer Sheet personally to the Invigilator on duty before he/she leaves the Examination Hall. No candidate shall be allowed to go to Toilet / Urinal during the last 30 minutes of Examination. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall 20 minutes after commencement of the examination. The candidate will be admitted to take the examination at the Centre specified in the Admission Certificate only and at no other Centre.
