My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 1

Traveling is one of the most exciting experiences one can have in life. It allows us to explore new places, meet different people, and create unforgettable memories. My recent adventurous trip was one such experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. The trip involved hiking through a dense forest, crossing a river, and reaching the summit of a mountain, where I enjoyed a breathtaking view. Despite facing challenges such as unpredictable weather and rough terrain, the trip was a memorable and rewarding experience. In this essay, I will share my experience of this adventurous trip, highlighting the challenges, the exhilarating moments, and the memories that I will cherish forever.

Our trip started with hiking through a dense forest. The forest was full of tall trees, colorful flowers, and chirping birds. The trail was steep and rocky, and we had to be careful while walking. The forest was so dense that we could hardly see the sun, and the air was full of freshness. We had to take breaks in between to catch our breath and hydrate ourselves. As we walked, we could hear the sound of a river, and after a few hours of hiking, we finally reached the river. The river was wide and had a strong current, and we had to cross it to continue our journey. We had to be careful while crossing the river, and we held hands to maintain our balance. The water was cold, and we could feel the current pushing us, but we made it to the other side, feeling proud of ourselves.

The highlight of our trip was reaching the summit of the mountain. The climb was steep and exhausting, but the view from the top was worth every effort. From the top of the mountain, we could see the entire valley, and it was a sight to behold. The sky was clear, and the sun was shining brightly, making the view even more beautiful. We took pictures and sat there for a while, enjoying the serene beauty of nature. We could hear the sound of birds and feel the cool breeze on our faces. It was a moment of pure bliss, and we felt grateful for being able to witness such a beautiful view.

Despite facing challenges such as unpredictable weather and rough terrain, the trip was a memorable and rewarding experience. We had to face unexpected rain and strong winds, which made the climb more challenging. We slipped a few times, but we managed to keep going, motivated by the thought of reaching the summit. The journey was long and tiring, but the memories we created were worth it. We bonded with our fellow travelers, shared laughter, and created memories that we will cherish forever. The trip taught us to be resilient, to push ourselves beyond our limits, and to appreciate the beauty of nature.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to explore the beauty of nature, push my limits, and create memories that I will cherish forever. Hiking through a dense forest, crossing a river, and reaching the summit of a mountain were challenging but rewarding experiences. Despite facing unpredictable weather and rough terrain, we persevered and created memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. The trip taught us the importance of resilience, perseverance, and appreciation for the beauty of nature. It was an experience that I will always treasure and would love to relive again.

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 2

My adventurous trip was an experience of a lifetime. It was a chance for me to step out of my comfort zone and explore the great outdoors. The trip was filled with activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking. The beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings made the trip memorable. Overcoming challenges such as inclement weather and physical exertion added to the sense of accomplishment and adventure. In this essay, I will share my experiences of this unforgettable trip.

Hiking was one of the most exciting activities of the trip. We started our hike early in the morning, and the trail was challenging, but the view was worth it. The trail led us through dense forests, and we saw wildflowers, butterflies, and birds along the way. We stopped for a break at a small waterfall, and the sound of the water was soothing. As we continued our hike, we came across a steep incline, which was physically demanding, but we pushed on. At the peak, we were rewarded with an incredible view of the valley below. The sense of accomplishment we felt after completing the hike was indescribable.

Camping was another activity that added to the adventure of the trip. We set up our tents near a lake, and the view was breathtaking. We spent the night sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories. The night sky was clear, and we saw countless stars, which was a beautiful sight. The next morning, we woke up early to go kayaking on the lake. The water was calm, and we saw fish jumping out of the water. We even saw a family of ducks swimming nearby. Kayaking was a peaceful and relaxing experience.

The trip was not without its challenges, however. We faced inclement weather during our kayaking, and it was physically demanding. The waves were strong, and the water was choppy. We had to navigate our kayaks through the waves carefully. At times, it was nerve-wracking, but we were able to push through and complete the activity. Overcoming these challenges added to the sense of adventure and accomplishment.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an experience that I will cherish forever. The activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking, the beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings, and the challenges we faced made the trip unforgettable. It was an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone, explore the great outdoors, and create memories with friends. I hope to have more opportunities like this in the future.

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 3

Going on an adventurous trip is an experience that many people crave. It is an opportunity to explore new destinations, push oneself to the limit, and create unforgettable memories. I recently had the chance to embark on one such journey, and it was an experience that I will never forget. My adventurous trip involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall. Along the way, I encountered challenging terrain and had to navigate through rough terrain. Despite the difficulties, the stunning views and sense of accomplishment made the trip a truly unforgettable adventure. In this essay, I will describe my trip in detail, highlighting the challenges and the rewards that came with it.

The first part of my adventurous trip involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall. The trail was not well-marked, and the terrain was challenging, consisting of steep inclines, muddy patches, and slippery rocks. The dense foliage made it difficult to see the path ahead, and we had to rely on our instincts and map reading skills to find our way through. The forest was alive with the sounds of birds and small animals, and the air was fresh and invigorating. As we got closer to our destination, the sound of rushing water became louder, and we knew we were getting close. Finally, after several hours of hiking, we arrived at the waterfall, and the sight before us was breathtaking. The waterfall was a powerful force of nature, cascading down from a height of over 100 feet. The water was crystal clear, and the surrounding rocks were covered in moss and ferns. It was a sight that made all the hiking and exertion worth it.

The second part of my adventurous trip involved navigating through rough terrain. The terrain was rocky and uneven, and we had to be careful not to slip or fall. At some points, the trail was so steep that we had to use ropes to climb up or down. The weather was also unpredictable, and we had to be prepared for sudden rain or wind. Despite the challenges, the sense of adventure and excitement kept us going. We were a group of friends, and we encouraged and supported each other along the way. We shared food and water, helped each other over difficult patches, and cheered each other on when we reached a milestone. The journey was not just about reaching the destination; it was also about the bonds we formed and the memories we created.

The final part of my adventurous trip was the sense of accomplishment that came with it. After several hours of hiking, navigating challenging terrain, and enduring unpredictable weather, we finally reached our destination. The feeling of standing in front of the waterfall, surrounded by the beauty of nature, was indescribable. It was a sense of accomplishment that came from pushing ourselves beyond our limits, from facing our fears and overcoming them. We took pictures, laughed, and savored the moment. It was a feeling that stayed with us long after the trip was over. The adventurous trip was not just a physical journey; it was also a journey of the mind and the spirit.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an experience that I will never forget. It involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall, navigating through rough terrain, and the sense of accomplishment that came with it. The trip was challenging, but it was also rewarding. It reminded me of the beauty of nature, the importance of perseverance, and the power of friendship. It was an experience that taught me to appreciate the simple things in life and to embrace the adventure that comes with it.

Every trip is an adventure and gives us joy. Going out on vacation may not mean a trip. A trip with adventures is completely different. Sometimes the vacation trip also becomes adventurous. Lots of things happen that amaze us. Also in adventures, many dangers take place.

I remember such an adventure I had. It was a horseback ride in the mountains. I was very young when we visited Shimla. We went to the Rohtang Pass. It snowed heavily that day. There was snow all around. So we had to take horses. We climbed high up the mountain. It was so lovely to see nature. I loved it. I remember my horseback ride till now.

Short Essay on My Adventurous Trip in 200 Words

I still remember one thrilling adventurous trip I had. I got scared when it happened. But I also enjoyed it a lot. I was very young when I visited Shimla. I did not know that the adventure would happen. So I just went on a vacation. We had a wonderful train journey to Shimla. Reaching there, we decided to visit Rohtang Pass.

I was so excited! We took a car and went to the slopes. I looked out of the windows. The car was gradually rising to the top. The road was spiel, like a big snake. Soon we reached the hilltop. I jumped out. That day it snowed. So it was all white. I was so happy to see the scene. Then we took a horse to ride. That was the greatest adventure I ever had. It slowly walked up the mountain.

I looked at the sides and saw how deep it was. I felt scared. Suddenly I could not breathe anymore. I felt sick and almost fell off the horseback. My father immediately held me and we came down the slopes. I fainted due to no air. When I got well, the people served me hot soup. He said I was too little. So I easily caught a cold. I still remember how dangerous it was. But still, this adventure is a great memory.

Short Essay on My Adventurous Trip in 400 Words

Adventure and trip are closely connected to each other. It is really hard to avoid adventure from a trip. We often go on vacations. But these are only for fun. So a trip with adventure is different. Adventure makes us a different person. We become strong and brave in an adventure. It is very important to have it in our lives. An adventure is always exciting and amazing.

I was also lucky to have an adventure in my life. I was very little then and did not know about it.  It suddenly happened. We went to Shimla that year. Shimla is always a great place to have fun. And it was the best vacation of my life. My father got us the tickets and we packed our bags. We took the train and went straight from Kolkata to Shimla. I enjoyed the view outside. It was wonderful. When we reached there, I jumped in joy. After two days of reaching Manali, All of us decided to visit it.

We planned to go to Rohtang Pass first. We started our journey. A car was booked. We took it and went to Rohtang. The road was like a snake. It was the first adventure I had there. It went slowly to the hilltop. I felt the cool breeze and looked out. It was so pretty. When we reached the top, I jumped out. It snowed that day. I started playing with it.

But the biggest adventure came after this. We had to take horses to go to the hilltop. I have seen horses in books. But had never ridden them. I clapped my hands in joy. My father and I got onto one. It slowly started moving. I touched the soft mane of the horse and it neighed. Soon we were at the top of the mountain. I looked down and got scared. It was dark. Long waterfalls were falling from the top. I stared at it. Suddenly I could not breathe. I tried hard but failed.

I soon fainted and was about to fall off horseback. But my father immediately caught me and we came down. The people nearby helped me and I opened my eyes. I had turned blue for no air. The people gave me hot soup to drink and feel warm. Gradually I felt better. After this, we left for our hotels. That day I was scared, but today I feel it as my best adventure. I will never forget this wonderful trip.

A Journey I Have Made

Posted By Compulsory English Leave a Comment

Introduction: Among many quick sources of travel provided by modem science, the bus has become an important means of transport. In towns and cities, we avail ourselves of riding buses to move conveniently from one place to another. Though we travel to short distances by bus, a long-distance journey is a very interesting experience.

The journey Recently: I have had an opportunity to make a long journey by bus. It was from Dhaka to Chittagong. I was going home to visit my parents during the summer vacation. Very early in the morning, I rode long route bus, which only goes to Chittagong. The bus conductor in his peculiar voice was inviting the passengers to board the bus, and it was named “Shohag Paribahan.” I took a ticket beforehand. The bus started exactly at 7:30 am.

An interesting part of the journey: Plying at a reasonable speed the bus soon left the city and entered the countryside. There were green fields and lush crops on both sides of the high way through which we were trave1ling. The bus ran on leaving behind every· thing, the houses, the hµts, the stretch of villages and cornfields, the woods and hats (market places) on either side. All these sights filled me with pleasant feelings. I was thrilled, with the sights and scenes of nature as well as the humble people of the villages, seen on the sides.

River crossing: The most interesting part of the journey, I was crossing the river Meghna. near Dautkandi. After two hours, our bus reached ferry ghat. The driver politely requested us to get down from the bus for our own safety. At the ghat, there was a strange mixture of noise and activity. The honking of horns, the roars of engines of different vehicles, the general uproar of the passengers were all a part of my bus journey. Getting down from the bus, I felt a great relief from the suffocating atmosphere, of the crowded vehicle. There was a slight discomfort in the ferry at the monotonous cries of vendors, hawkers, and the beggars. Still crossing the river by ferry in the gentle breeze was very pleasant indeed. During the course of journey, I had occasional tension at times when the reckless drivers of other vehicles like trucks and other buses tried to overtake our bus. Once we had a hair, breath ·escape from a collision with a truck.

Destination: The bus stopped only at Comilla, where some passengers got down and some others got in it. I had my seat near the window. The bus started to move again. It made me drowsy. I was awakened with a start when the bus suddenly braked to stop. I found that I had reached my destination, Chittagong Bus Terminal. It took us nearly four and half hours to reach. I got down from the bus, with my cramped muscles and stiff limbs, along with my single luggage. I was overjoyed to see my father there, who had come to receive me.

Conclusion: Thus my journey by bus was very enlighting and pleasant. I really enjoyed the experience

Describe a journey you went on

You should say:

  • where you went
  • why you went to this particular place
  • what you did and with whom

and describe why you enjoyed your journey? Or, if not, why

Sample Answer:

I like visiting famous places and whenever I get a vacation, I try to visit new places or places that I have heard about. One such trip that I took with one of my friends was a journey to Holland. I would like to talk about this tour to Holland that we took 2 years age

Both of us (me and my friend) wanted to visit Holland and specifically Amsterdam, Hague and Rotterdam very much because we saw pictures and heard stories from friends about how beautiful and wonderful the place is. So finally we applied for the visa, bought plane tickets, booked a hotel, packed our bags and our trip began

We spent a lot of time before our holiday, researching of all the interesting places to visit and all the sights to see. So we went to Rijks museum, Van Gogh museum, Amstell Beer museum, took a romantic sunset cruise in the water channels, drove to Volendam, a small prettiest fisherman village, visited a cheese farm. We went to Rotterdam, which is the architecture city of Holland that stimulates innovation. We enjoyed the architectures and building there as much as we did walking in the neat roads and besides the beaches. Visiting the famous Anne Frank house was an exciting moment for me. I’ve read the Anne Frank’s Diary in my early childhood and witnessing the place was very much exciting

Every evening we took long walks along the channels, resting in small gardens, which Amsterdam has a lot of. Street artists were performing everywhere and a lot of people came to watch their show

We enjoyed very much everything we did and especially in such a beautiful country. Having my friend by my side on this trip made it even more fun. Since we have never been to Holland, everything we saw and did seemed interesting and completely new to us. The people, their way of interpreting their culture attracted us very much. Before leaving the place, both of us agreed that the place is worth visiting and someday we would come back to re-explore it.

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Favourite Trip in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on My Favourite Trip

Introduction.

My favourite trip was to the beautiful city of Paris. I went there with my family during the summer holidays.

The Journey

We travelled by plane. The flight was exciting and I enjoyed the view from above.

Exploring Paris

In Paris, we visited many famous places like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, and Notre-Dame.

Unforgettable Moments

The best part was the boat ride on the Seine River. The view of the city was breathtaking.

This trip was special and I will always cherish the memories. Paris, indeed, is a dream city.

250 Words Essay on My Favourite Trip

My favourite trip is one that transcends the physical journey, offering a deep exploration into self and culture. The voyage I hold dear is my trip to Kyoto, Japan, a city that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity.

The Allure of Kyoto

Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, is a city steeped in history and culture. Its charm lies in its ability to preserve the old while embracing the new. The city is a fascinating tableau of ancient temples nestled amidst modern skyscrapers, traditional tea houses juxtaposed against bustling shopping districts, and serene Zen gardens contrasting with vibrant city life.

Immersive Cultural Experience

The trip was not just about sightseeing; it was an immersive cultural experience. I participated in a traditional tea ceremony, a ritual that encapsulates the principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. I also had the opportunity to wear a kimono, a traditional Japanese garment, which made me feel connected to the local culture.

Personal Growth

More than the physical journey, it was the introspection that the trip invoked that made it my favourite. Kyoto, with its tranquil gardens and ancient temples, offered a space for contemplation. I found myself reflecting on the impermanence of life, a concept deeply ingrained in Japanese culture, and this reflection has since influenced my perspective on life.

In conclusion, my trip to Kyoto was not just a journey across geographical boundaries, but also a voyage into cultural understanding and self-discovery. The memories of this trip continue to inspire and influence me, making it my favourite trip.

500 Words Essay on My Favourite Trip

Every journey leaves an indelible mark on the canvas of our lives, but there are some that stand out, forever etched in our memories. My favourite trip was a week-long adventure to the breathtaking landscape of Iceland, an experience that transcended the ordinary and ventured into the extraordinary.

The Allure of Iceland

Iceland, often referred to as the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’, is a country of stark contrasts. It is a place where the harshness of the volcanic landscape merges seamlessly with the serenity of its glacial expanses. The allure of Iceland lies in its untouched beauty, its raw, untamed wilderness that is as mysterious as it is captivating.

The Journey Begins

As our plane descended into Keflavík International Airport, the view from the window was a surreal spectacle of a rugged landscape interspersed with patches of green. The journey from the airport to our accommodation in Reykjavik was a visual treat, with the scenic beauty of the country unfolding before our eyes.

Exploring Reykjavik

Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is a blend of cosmopolitan lifestyle and old-world charm. The city’s vibrant culture, eclectic architecture, and a plethora of eateries serving traditional Icelandic food, made it a delight to explore. The Hallgrímskirkja church, with its unique design, and the Sun Voyager sculpture, symbolising hope and freedom, were the highlights of our city tour.

The Golden Circle Route

The Golden Circle Route was the highlight of our trip. This tourist trail took us to some of the most stunning natural wonders of Iceland – the Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area, and the Þingvellir National Park. The sheer power of Gullfoss, the spectacle of the Strokkur geyser erupting, and the historic significance of Þingvellir, made this trip an unforgettable experience.

The Northern Lights

No trip to Iceland is complete without witnessing the ethereal beauty of the Northern Lights. We were fortunate to experience this natural phenomenon. The sky, adorned with a dance of colours, was a sight to behold. It was a humbling experience that reminded us of the grandeur of nature and our tiny existence in the grand scheme of things.

This trip to Iceland was not just a journey across a country; it was an exploration of self, an opportunity to connect with nature, and a chance to appreciate the simple yet profound beauty of our planet. The memories of this trip will always hold a special place in my heart, reminding me of the wonders that lie beyond the confines of our daily lives.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

In our view, writing should not be a popularity contest, a struggle for validation, or a competitive sport.

Instead, writing is a personal journey : an ongoing exploration, personally meaningful in ways and for reasons that are unique to each one of us, and with destinations that we ourselves choose and venture toward.

In this article, we propose a structured way of asking a simple question: Where do you want to go on your writing journey in 2020?

What is a Writing Journey?

Your writing journey is your own process of ongoing exploration and growth within your writing.

When you travel along your writing journey, you are accountable—not to someone else’s definition of success, but to exploring and growing as a writer in the ways you  find meaningful and fulfilling.

The purpose of Writers.com is to support each person’s writing journey: to create a community of writers who are connecting and deepening in our writing in the ways that matter to each of us.

Make sense? Wonderful! The questions below can help you map out your own writing path, through 2020 and beyond.

Seven Questions for Your 2020 Writing Journey

Please go through each of the questions below in any way you like. You may get the most benefit if you consider each one a writing prompt—open a notebook or a blank document, and then for each question:

  • Read the question, once or twice.
  • Take a deep breath and try to feel into what comes up.
  • Whenever you’re ready, do a short free write, either timed (1 to 5 minutes) or until you feel you’ve said what you want to say. Don’t worry too much about editing, just try to get your thoughts and feelings out.
  • Move to the next question.

1. Why is writing important to me?

Start at the broadest level: what is writing to me, and what makes it an important force in my life?

Suggestions:

  • Take a step back. If an easy answer pops into your mind (“Because I have a manuscript to finish!”), you may just want to sit openly for a few seconds, take a few breaths, and see if something deeper comes through.
  • Most likely, your reason for writing will be something you can  feel . If you write poetry to connect with the beauty and strangeness of the world around you, you can probably feel that impulse when it comes to mind. If you’re writing a memoir to record and honor your family history, you can most likely feel that too. Our deep motivations tend to be feelings, and being in touch with those feelings puts us on solid ground.

2. What are my vision and goals for my writing?

Based on my broadest motivations to write, where, overall, would I like my writing to go?

  • Your vision may be more general—a feeling, like the pride of accomplishment, or the feeling you get when something you write really connects—or it may be more specific, like having a certain number of works published in a certain way.
  • Your goals are “vision you can measure.” That can be almost anything—not just pages written, manuscripts submitted, and so on. Maybe you’d like to eventually complete a novel trilogy, or you’d like to be someone who writes one poem per week that you really like, or someone who journals regularly for the next five years, or who is finally brave enough to share a short story with your spouse.
  • Don’t treat these goals as obligations —things you can judge yourself over or fail at—but simply as possible answers to “What, specifically, would fulfilling my overall vision for my writing journey look like?”

3. Where would I like to go in my writing journey in 2020?

Based on my overall vision and goals for my writing, where would I like to go with my writing in 2020?

  • This is asking you to envision goals for your writing in 2020. Again, a goal doesn’t have to be only in terms of pages written or works completed. Maybe by the end of 2020 you’d like to feel you’ve made major progress in writing rich, three-dimensional characters. If you have a clear sense of what “major progress” would feel like, then that’s a great direction for the year!
  • Rather than thinking “What  should I do?” think, “What would I  like to do?” and make that your goal or goals. Again, this is about visualizing a writing journey that will be fulfilling and enjoyable for you, not about judgment or obligations.
  • Try to come up with realistic goals for the year: don’t plan on overcommitting yourself. Life will be busy in 2020 just like it was in 2019, at least until they finally ship us our robot butlers.

4. What commitments will I need to make in order to make this progress along my writing journey?

To explore my writing in the way I wish to in 2020, what will I need to commit to doing?

  • Think broadly: the answer is probably  not simply “write 500 words a day.” Maybe you need to set up a writing space in your home. Maybe you need to make sure to attend your family reunion, and to bring a notepad and a recorder.  Reading  regularly in the area of writing that you’d like to grow in is a great commitment to make. And so on.
  • Do try to be specific, if you can, in terms of the size of these commitments. How many sci-fi novels would you like to read in the process of writing yours? Make sure that you’re not overcommitting yourself, beyond the point of your exploration being fulfilling and enjoyable to you.

5. What obstacles will I face on my writing journey?

To explore my writing in the way I wish to in 2020, what obstacles will I need to work with?

  • Be honest here! Writing is full of obstacles big and small, internal and external. Looking at them openly and nonjudgmentally is a very healthy and even healing process, if we’re used to hiding from them and wishing they’d go away.
  • Try to consider both practical/external and personal/internal obstacles, as most of us face both.
  • To get you started: we all experience practical obstacles including limited time, competing priorities, unexpected life events, knowledge gaps to fill in (how to craft a poetry collection? how to plot out a novel? etc.), and many others. How do these play a role on your writing journey?
  • For many of us, our personal obstacles are rooted in self-doubt (am I and is my work “good enough,” “talented enough,” “original enough”?) and uncertainty (“will I be read,” “am I doing this right”?). We also experience natural fluctuations in discipline, motivation, and enthusiasm. How do these and other personal challenges play a role on your writing journey?
  • Don’t be hard on yourself! Looking at our obstacles is a way to open to them and to ourselves, and to work from a basis in reality— not to judge or condemn. These obstacles put you in the company of the exactly 100% of writers who are dealing with them too.

6. What will I do to work with these obstacles?

How will I plan to work with the obstacles I’ve identified as I move along my writing journey in 2020?

  • The idea here is to try to have a friendly plan for your 2020 writing journey that acknowledges that things are challenging sometimes, and that has some built-in approaches for accommodating those challenges when they arise. “I will never doubt myself and my writing” would be a very bad plan to make. “When I am doubting my writing, I will relax and look for support and guidance in a community of other writers” would be a great plan to make.

7. What first step can I take now?

Given the writing journey I wish to take in 2020, what first step can I take right now?

  • This part can be fun! If you want to start writing love poems this year, why not  write one, without judgment? You can keep it as a milestone of your journey for the year. If you want to write a Western screenplay, why not dig out the cowboy boots from the garage and remember how they feel to walk around in? Again, this whole thing is your own journey, and even though it’s difficult at times, you should also find it fulfilling, creative, and fun.
  • Along with the fun, now is a good time to put in motion steps that will help your writing journey develop momentum and structure. If you really want to read a book on character development, now might be a good time to order it, so that you’re building a chain of actions that start today and take you forward from here.

Next Steps After Asking These Questions

If you’ve gone through this exercise, you should have a lot of wonderful raw material to craft a fulfilling 2020 writing journey. You may want to go through what you’ve written down, and begin to design specific plans and commitments for the next weeks and months in any way that works for you.

Again, look for a mixture of “diving write in” with some first steps you’d enjoy taking right now, and also beginning to look ahead and build a sense of steady, enjoyable progression into your year as a whole.

Wishing You a Wonderful Writing Journey in 2020!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this exercise. Again, the main takeaway is simply to be friendly to yourself. Your writing journey is yours to travel. If you’re learning, enjoying yourself, and deepening your experience of what makes writing meaningful to you, then that is, very literally, the whole point.

Introduction: A journey by boat is a very pleasant and interesting experience in this country. Bangladesh is a land of rivers. So, it is not difficult to arrange a boat journey. Sometimes it is more convenient to have a journey by boat than by road.

Time for Boat Journey: The best time for a boat journey can be in the rainy season . During the rainy season, all the rivers of the country remain full to the brim and there can be no difficulty in rowing a boat. Most of the areas of the country can be reached by boat during that time. Even, during the rains, many of the parts of the country go underwater and become unsuitable for road communication.

Description of the Boat Journey: During the last rainy season I, along with three other friends, decided to have a boat journey to my sister ‘s house. My sister’s house is at Jaisthapura. Jaisthapura is on the river Karnafully and the easiest way to go there is by boat. On the appointed day we went to the Kalurghat river ghat at 7 AM. There we boarded on a passenger boat bound for Jaisthapura. There were five boatmen in the boat. It was an engine boat. There were about fifty passengers on the boat. At the appointed time the boatmen started the boat.

The boat started moving on. It was a big boat. The passengers were sitting on wooden stools on the boat. After the boat started, the passengers got engaged in different activities. Some of them were reading books, some were reading newspapers , some were chatting and some were eating fruits and nuts. We saw many boats, big and small, plying up and down the river. The views on both sides of the river were very beautiful from the boat. The wind was also refreshing. The boat touched some places on its way. People got down and boarded on the boat at those places. The journey lasted for about three hours. At 10:30 AM we reached our destination.

Destination: My sister’s house was a short distance from the place where we got down from the boat. It took us only five minutes to go there on foot. My sister was very glad to receive us.

Conclusion: We enjoyed the boat journey very much. It is one of the most pleasant experiences of my life.

A Journey by Boat Composition for Class 7-8

By: Haque , Words: 400; 02-03-’22

Bangladesh is a land of rivers. So it is very easy to enjoy a journey by boat in this country. It is full of charms and joys. It is also a part of education. It brings us close to the natural beauty.

I had recently got an occasion to go from Dhaka to Munshiganj. My elder brother who is a doctor of Munshiganj hospital invited me many a time to pay a visit to his residence. However, a fair chance came to me during the recent summer vacation. My best friend Sumon joined me.

On the appointed day we had our bath and took our breakfast earlier. We reached the river Ghat at 7.30 AM. We found our hired boat ready. The boat was a nice one with two boatmen. We got on the boat. There were hundreds of boats big and small on the Ghat.

On that day the weather was very fine. The river was calm. The sky was cloudless and clear. The sun was visible. As a result, the morning was sunny and fresh.

After a short while, the boatmen uttered the name of Allah and the boat began to move for our destination. It was about 8.15 AM.

When the boat left behind the din and bustle of the town, I enjoyed the varied beauty of nature and other familiar scenes of the countryside. There were endless fields of paddy and wheat, woods and trees . They looked like a green valley. Men, women, and little children were bathing in the river water. Fishermen were catching fish by their nets with boats. All these provided us great amusement. Several launches passed our boat.

We were hearing the Bhatiali song on the tone of our boatmen. When we enjoyed all the charms available on the ways the boat finally stopped at Munshiganj Ghat at about 8 PM. My brother paid off the boatmen’s dues including a tip. We got down off the boat and my brother received us cordially.

Thus our journey came to an end. The beautiful and amazing boat trip won our hearts. The beauty of nature which we often miss unfurled before us that day. I shall even remember the sweet memory of the pleasant boat journey for the rest of my life.

A Journey by Boat Paragraph for Class 5-6

By: Haque , Words: 150; 02-03-’22

We all make journeys. I like a journey by boat the most. So I do not miss the opportunity to travel by boat. Last monsoon, I took a boat trip with some of my friends. That was during the holidays, at the end of our first interim examination. We decided to go to Mulagul from Kanaighat. That’s why we rented a big boat. We started our journey at 7 AM. Two sailors were driving the boat. I was overwhelmed by the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river. Farmers were planting paddy in the land, fishermen were fishing in the river and children were swimming . At 10 AM we reach the destination. On the way back, it was very enjoyable to see the spectrum of sunset in the river. I will never forget this journey. I think a journey by boat is the most enjoyable way to travel.

Train journeys are super fun, especially when traveling by train with a group of friends. One of my most memorable journeys by train was my journey from Delhi to Jaipur. It was a school trip, and we were all really excited about it. We had numerous plans for the trip and were especially looking forward to having a great time on our way.

We all reached the railway station by 6 in the morning, and the train ride started within a few minutes. I occupied the window seat to see the view outside. Essay on ‘A Journey by Train to Shimla’ – Essay 3 (300 words)

Train journeys hold a unique charm, especially when they lead to enchanting destinations like Shimla. However, what makes the journey even more captivating is the special toy train that runs from Kalka to Shimla, winding through breathtaking landscapes. A trip to Shimla remains incomplete without experiencing this iconic train ride. Thus, we planned our Shimla trip well in advance and secured our tickets for this much-talked-about train journey.

Our Journey to Shimla by Toy Train

During last year’s autumn break, we embarked on a memorable journey to Shimla. We began our travel by bus to Kalka, the starting point of our adventure with the toy train. Initially, I expected it to be just another train journey, offering glimpses of mountains and valleys. However, it turned out to be an exhilarating and extraordinary experience. Throughout our journey, we found ourselves immersed in the lap of nature, not merely observing the mountains, valleys, and lush greenery, but feeling like an integral part of this natural wonder as the train gracefully traversed the mountains.

Spanning a duration of 5-6 hours, this journey was filled with thrills and excitement. The route featured a multitude of tunnels and bridges that added to the allure. There were more than 100 tunnels and approximately 800 bridges along the route. I remained glued to the window seat, relishing the splendid vistas outside. At one point, the train made a brief stop at a quaint station, affording us a brief ten-minute break to explore.

Throughout the journey, my parents and brother shared in my delight, finding it as enjoyable as I did. We chose the same train for our return journey, unwilling to miss out on a second opportunity to savor this captivating experience.

Undoubtedly, this train journey stands out as the most remarkable one in my life. My deep love for nature made this journey even more special. I sincerely hope for a chance to traverse this enchanting route once more, as it left an indelible mark on my heart.

Essay on ‘My First Train Journey’ – Essay4 (400 words)

My First Train Journey

My very first train journey was an unforgettable experience that I embarked on when I was in the 2nd standard. It was a special trip to attend my maternal aunt’s wedding in Dehradun. As soon as the news of the wedding spread, excitement and joy filled our home. My mother began planning her outfits, while my father organized our travel arrangements. We decided to travel by train, accompanied by a few relatives, marking my maiden voyage on a train.

Planning the Train Journey

Train journeys require meticulous planning for a smooth and enjoyable trip. My parents carefully studied the available trains on our route to select the most convenient option. We booked our tickets well in advance, packed our bags, and ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place for our journey.

The Journey Begins

Our train journey commenced as a night voyage. We arrived at the railway station on time, settled into our seats, and, within a few minutes, the train began its journey.

Fun on the Way

As we greeted our relatives and settled in for the long journey, there was an air of excitement. Many of us hadn’t seen each other in months, so there was plenty to catch up on. I sat with my cousins, and we eagerly planned to make the most of this train journey. They had brought along board games, and we engaged in an entertaining one.

After a few rounds of the game, it was time for dinner. The food served on the train was surprisingly delectable. Following dinner, I found a cozy spot by the window. Despite the darkness of the night, I enjoyed the rhythmic sounds of the moving train, a novel experience for me.

As everyone finished their meals, we decided to play antakshari . Our relatives enthusiastically joined in, and we sang songs and played antakshari for an hour before it was time to rest.

A Scenic Morning

The next morning, I awoke early and was greeted by a stunning view outside the window. The lush green fields, the rising sun, the distant hills, and the charming huts along the way — everything appeared exceptionally beautiful. This scenic morning view was the highlight of my train journey.

In hindsight, my first train journey was incredibly exciting and fascinating. I cherished every moment of it, and the delightful company of my cousins added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

Long Essay on Journey by Train

Essay on ‘a memorable journey by train’ – essay 4 (500 words).

Introduction

I have gone on many train journeys with my family as well as friends. Travelling by train is comfortable and enjoyable. I always prefer train journeys over road trips for the experience they offer. I have made great memories on these trips. While I have enjoyed all my train journeys, my train travel from Delhi to Goa is the closest to my heart.

Journey from Delhi to Goa

I went for a trip to Goa with my classmates when I was in seventh standard. The trip was planned by the school. After much persuasion, my parents agreed to send me on the trip. Most of my friends also got the consent from their parents. We planned to do a lot of fun things on the trip.

Besides, site-seeing and having fun with friends on the trip, I was also excited about the train journey. The train journey from Delhi to Goa was for around one and a half day. This was the longest journey I had ever gone on. I was really looking forward to it.

My parents dropped me to the station. They were a bit anxious as this was the first time I was travelling so far without them. My mother gave me last minute instructions and I nodded obediently as I eagerly awaited the train. We left from Delhi at around 5 in the evening. I sat by the window with one of my friends by my side.

Travelling with Friends

Travelling with friends is always fun. I had been to Jaipur, Nanital and Shimla with my friends. All these trips were planned by our school. We travelled by train on all these trips and had a lot of fun on the way but none of them involved so much travelling. Most of these were overnight journeys. But on our trip to Goa we spent one night and one and a half day in the train.

I kept sitting by the window for the first two-three hours of the journey. I loved the view outside. As it started getting dark, I joined my friends who were playing dumb charades. We kept playing this game until it was time for dinner. After having our dinner, we chatted until late night. We shared our experiences, narrated interesting stories and mimicked our teachers. It was all great fun. I slept comfortably at night and woke up late.

The breakfast was served almost immediately after I woke up. After having the breakfast, I went and stood by the train door which was half opened. The view outside was beautiful. I love nature and I can watch the trees, hills and the water bodies for hours. It soothes and pleases my senses and offers a delightful experience.

I kept standing there for a long time. One of my friends joined me there. We enjoyed the view and spoke about our love for travelling and nature. During the rest of the day, we played games, had food and chatted with each other. We reached Goa at around 11 at night.

This train journey was an awesome experience. I enjoyed it thoroughly and made several beautiful memories on the way.

Long Essay on ‘A Journey by Train’ – Essay 5 (600 words)

Train journeys are economical, comfortable and fascinating. It is a complete experience in itself. While travelling by train, I am not eager to reach the destination, I rather enjoy each moment of the journey. I have made many friends during my train journeys and had several new experiences.

Advantages of Journey by Train

Train journeys offer numerous advantages. Some of these advantages are shared below:

  • One of the main advantages of train journey is the comfort and convenience it offers. Unlike cars, buses and aeroplanes, you have the option to lie down and sleep while travelling by train. Overnight journey by train is thus much more convenient compared to that by car or bus. One can sleep comfortably through the night and wake up fresh.
  • There is no restriction on the luggage. One can carry as much luggage as he wants while travelling via train unlike the aeroplanes where a limit is set for the same.
  • Trains have washrooms that make long journeys more convenient.
  • One can study or work comfortably on a laptop during train journey. Thus, the time spent in travelling can be put to productive use.
  • Trains are quite economical as compared to cabs and aeroplanes. One can travel long distance at a nominal cost.

Disadvantages of Journey by Train

While train journeys offer a number of advantages, there are certain disadvantages attached to them too. Here is a look at these disadvantages:

  • One of the biggest disadvantages of travelling by train is that one needs to plan the trip and get the tickets booked days before the journey. This is quite unlike travelling by car or bus wherein one can plan the trip and get going even the next day.
  • Booking the ticket can be quite taxing. People who go to the railway station to book the tickets need to stand in the queue for hours. Booking train tickets online is also quite time consuming as the railway booking site sometimes get quite slow due to increased traffic.
  • Though the trains have washrooms and restrooms, these are not as clean and hygienic as they should be.
  • Trains often get delayed due to different reasons. This can be quite annoying and exhausting.
  • Compared to aeroplanes, travel time taken by trains is much higher. It is not a good option for those who need to reach somewhere urgently.

My Train Journey Experience

I have been on many train journeys since my childhood. I have gone to Mount Abu, Udaipur, Varanasi, Shimla, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bombay and many other places with family, friends and relatives. I have travelled to most of these places by train. What I love most about train journeys is the view outside. I love to sit by the window and watch the natural surroundings that come by during the journey. I often take a novel along as I love reading while travelling.

Train journeys become all the more fun when we are travelling in groups. There are so many fun things to do on the way. We crack jokes, sing songs, play games and chit chat for hours during the journey. We also get a chance to meet new people. It feels great when we meet like-minded people on our way. It makes the trip quite enjoyable. There is so much to talk about and share. I have made quite a few friends during my train journeys.

Train journeys have their set of advantages and disadvantages. While planning ahead, booking tickets and strict train schedules can be a put off; comfortable travel and good utilization of time are some of the advantages it offers. I have been on several train journeys and I really look forward to them.

When slumber overtakes me, I make use of the sleeping berth. I personally find sleeping on the train berth very comfortable. When I wake after a deep sleep, mountains are visible from a distance. Moreover, as the train approaches Kathgodam with menacing speed, the view of mountains gets bigger and bigger. Also, my amusement greatly rises as I see the Himalayas draw closer.
