Feature Film “Flight 313: The Conspiracy” set for December release through Vision Films
By FIN Staff / 18 October 2016
Based on true events, “Flight 313: The Conspiracy” tells the story of a chilling conspiracy at the heart of the aviation industry. Two British journalists, played by Georgina Sutcliffe (“Age of Heroes”) and Rita Ramnani (“Hedda Gabler”), by chance discover aviation's biggest cover-up. A serious in-flight incident hidden from the press by JASP Airlines reveals that crewmembers and passengers have knowingly been put at risk since the 1950s. When the airline’s new CEO, played by Mark Dymond (“Die Another Day”), discovers the darker side of the airline industry and its secret campaign of denial by the airline owner, played by NICHOLAS DAY (“The Wolfman”), he is faced with the moral dilemma: corporate profit or the public's safety? The film reveals facts that every airline passenger should consider before they next fly.
Flight 313: The Conspiracy” is a fact-based fiction film inspired by Director/Producer Tristan Loraine’s own experience as an an airline captain. He said:
“People deserve to know the truth about the air they breathe on aircraft. Thanks to our distribution, audiences will be able to fly better informed after watching this film. I hope it only takes a good movie, and not another serious incident or crash for the industry to finally admit there is a problem that needs solving.”
Vision Films will now release the film in the USA and Canada on DVD and VOD on December 13th 2016. The film was originally released theatrically in the United Kingdom as “A Dark Reflection,” partly funded by pilot and flight attendant labour organizations around the world, notably the Aerotoxic Association and the Communications Workers of America. Scott Jones of Artist View Entertainment is handling worldwide sales.

Review by Daryl : Part One ★
Regardless of the importance of this movie’s subject matter and the nifty cooperative-system in which it was funded, A Dark Reflection isn’t a very good film. Even with the understanding that this picture was shot on a low budget and accepting the limitations that come with it, there is no excusing some of the horrors witnessed here. The dialogue is clunky at best and often unintentionally comedic, not helped by the fact that several of the performers are abysmal actors. There are some absolute hum-dinger examples of fudged lines that have been kept in certain scenes and overdubbed dialogue where what the actor is saying and what their lips do are completely at odds.
It’s not all bad though. To…
Review by cinematiccritic ★★½
The most surprising thing about this film is that the issue it was raising is true and was known about in the aviation industry since 1954 and it was not until 2015 that anything was to be done about it. In fact trades unions and pilot associations funded the production of what is essentially a docudrama covering the exposure of cabin crew and passengers to polluted air from jet engine exhaust gases.
Tristan Loraine who wrote directed and produced this film was a commercial pilot and like his other films they all have an aviation theme. This is a good example where the subject of the film took precedence over the drama pace to maintain the audience interest. It would…

Flight 313: The Conspiracy is a thrilling action movie that follows a group of passengers who are aboard a flight from London to New York. As the flight takes off and reaches cruising altitude, the passengers settle in for what they believe will be a routine journey across the Atlantic. However, events quickly spiral out of control as the plane is hijacked by a group of terrorists.
The main character, played by Marina Sirtis, is a flight attendant named Suzie. She quickly realizes that something is not right when several passengers start behaving oddly and making strange requests. As she investigates, she discovers that a group of terrorists has taken control of the plane and is planning a devastating attack.
Suzie must use all of her wits and experience to outsmart the hijackers and save the passengers on board. Along the way, she joins forces with a passenger named Mattie, played by Georgina Sutcliffe, who is also determined to put a stop to the terrorists' plans.
As the action unfolds, the tension and suspense continue to build. The hijackers are revealed to have a complex plan that involves multiple layers of deception and manipulation. The story becomes a race against time as Suzie and Mattie struggle to uncover the truth and stop the hijackers before it's too late.
One of the strengths of Flight 313: The Conspiracy is how well it balances action and suspense with character development. The passengers on the flight are each given their moment to shine, and we come to care about them as they face an impossible situation.
Despite the high stakes and intense action, the movie also manages to ask some important questions about terrorism, global politics, and the nature of evil. Through the characters' conversations and actions, we see how complex and multifaceted these issues can be, and how difficult it is to come to any easy solutions.
Overall, Flight 313: The Conspiracy is a smart and engaging thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. With strong performances from the cast, expert direction, and a well-crafted story, it's a movie that is both thrilling and thought-provoking.
Flight 313: The Conspiracy is a 2017 crime movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 42 minutes.

Movie Reviews
Tv/streaming, collections, great movies, chaz's journal, contributors, my name is whip, and i'm an alcoholic.
Now streaming on:
After opening with one of the most terrifying flying scenes I've witnessed, in which an airplane is saved by being flown upside down, Robert Zemeckis ' "Flight" segues into a brave and tortured performance by Denzel Washington — one of his very best. Not often does a movie character make such a harrowing personal journey that keeps us in deep sympathy all of the way.
Washington plays Whip Whitaker, a veteran commercial airlines pilot who over the years has built up a shaky tolerance for quantities of alcohol and cocaine that would be lethal for most people. At the film opens, he's finishing an all-night party with a friendly flight attendant named Katerina ( Nadine Velazquez ) and jolts himself back into action with two lines of cocaine. His co-pilot ( Brian Geraghty ) eyes him suspiciously, but Whip projects poise and authority from behind his dark aviator glasses.
Their flight takes off in a disturbing rainstorm and encounters the kind of turbulence that has the co-pilot crying out, "Oh, Lord!" But Whip powers them at high speed into an area of clear sky, before a mechanical malfunction sends the aircraft into an uncontrollable nosedive. Zemeckis and his team portray the terror in the cabin in stomach-churning style. Acting on instinct, seeming cool as ice, the veteran pilot inverts the plane to halt its descent, and it flies level upside-down until he rights it again to glide into a level crash-landing in an open field.
The field, as it happens, is next to a little church, and the way Zemeckis portrays an outdoor baptism on the ground below captures the hyper-realism with which I imagine we notice things when we think we're about to die. Only six people do die in the crash, and Whittaker is hailed as a hero.
Will this close call bring an end to his drinking? He retreats to his grandfather's farm where he was raised, pours out all his booze and is dry for a time — until he's told by his union representative ( Bruce Greenwood ) and his lawyer ( Don Cheadle ), that blood tests show he was flying drunk. A government hearing is fraught with hazard (he faces a possible life sentence). Meanwhile, he is befriended by a woman named Nicole ( Kelly Reilly ), who he met in the hospital, and she takes him to an AA meeting, but the program is not for him.
It becomes clear that intoxication is more important to Whip than anything else; it cost him a marriage and the respect of his son. One of the most effective things in Washington's performance is the way he puts up an impassive facade to conceal his defiant addiction. "No one else could have landed that plane!" he insists, and indeed tests in a flight simulator back him up. The fact remains that he was stoned.
One of the most gripping scenes takes place in a hotel room where Whittaker is being held essentially under guard for the week before his official hearing. At a crucial moment, his drug supplier Harling Mays ( John Goodman ) turns up, marching toward camera in one of a series of garish Hawaiian shirts, ready to battle a crisis. I don't have any idea if cocaine can snap you back from a killer hangover, but I wouldn't count on it.
Denzel Washington is one of the most sympathetic and rock-solid of actors, and it's effective here how his performance never goes over the top but instead is grounded on obsessive control. There are many scenes inviting emotional displays. A lesser actor might have wanted to act them out. Washington depends on his eyes, his manner and a gift for projecting inner emotion. In the way it meets every requirement of a tricky plot, this is an ideal performance.
Among the supporting performances, Don Cheadle projects guarded motivations, Greenwood is a loyal friend, Goodman seems like a handy medic, and Brian Geraghty's panic in the co-pilot's seat underlines the horror. "Flight," a title with more than one meaning, is strangely the first live-action feature in 12 years by Robert Zemeckis, who seemed committed to stop-motion animation (" Beowulf ," " The Polar Express ," " Disney's A Christmas Carol "). It is nearly flawless. I can think of another final line of dialogue for Whip Whitaker's character ("My name is Whip, and I'm an alcoholic"), but that's just me.
