Jilebi Movie review: ఒకప్పుడు సూపర్ హిట్లు ఇచ్చిన డైరెక్టర్ విజయ భాస్కర్ రీ ఎంట్రీ ఇస్తూ చేసిన సినిమా జిలేబి. ఈ సినిమాతో విజయ భాస్కర్ తన కొడుకు శ్రీ కమల్ ను హీరోగా పరిచయం చేయడం గమనార్హం. ఆసక్తికరమైన విషయం ఏమిటంటే ఈ సినిమాలో రాజశేఖర్ కుమార్తె శివాని రాజశేఖర్ హీరోయిన్ గా నటించడం. అలా ఆసక్తికరమైన కాంబినేషన్ తో తెరకెక్కిన ఈ సినిమా శుక్రవారం నాడు ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చేసింది. సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది అనేది రివ్యూలో చూద్దాం.

కథ: కమల్ (శ్రీ కమల్) అనే కుర్రాడికి జి లక్ష్మి భారతి అలియాస్ జిలేబి (శివానీ రాజశేఖర్)తో పరిచయం అవుతుంది. ఆ పరిచయం వల్ల కొన్ని కీలకమైన పరిణామాలు చోటుచేసుకుంటాయి. జిలేబి రహస్యంగా అబ్బాయిల హాస్టల్‌లోకి ప్రవేశించగా ఆమె పారిపోవడానికి చేసిన ప్రయత్నాలు ఫలించకపోవడంతో అక్కడే ఉండవలసి వస్తుంది. దీంతో ఆమె ఆమె కమల్ సహాయాన్ని కోరగా బుజ్జి (సాయి కుమార్ బబ్లూ), బాబీ (అంకిత్ కొయ్య), వాషింగ్టన్ (వైవా సన్నీ)లు కూడా ఆమె హాస్టల్ లో ఉన్నట్టు కనిపెడతారు. ఈ క్రమంలో జిలేబి తండ్రి ఎంఎల్ఏ రుద్ర ప్రతాప్ రానా (మురళీ శర్మ) వల్ల ఎదురైన పరిస్థితులు ఏంటి.. ఈ హాస్టల్ వార్డెన్ ధైర్యం (రాజేంద్ర ప్రసాద్) ఏం చేశాడు? చివరికి ఆమె ఎలా బయటకు వచ్చింది అనేది సినిమా కథ.

విశ్లేషణ: డైరెక్టర్ విజయ్ భాస్కర్ కంబ్యాక్ సినిమా అయిన ఈ జిలేబీ అన్ని వర్గాల వారికి కనేక్ అయ్యే అవకాశాలు తక్కువ. సినిమాను మంచి ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ గా చూపించే క్రమంలో కొంతవరకు ఇబంది పడ్డారు. కొన్నిసీన్లు బోరింగ్ అనిపించినా కూడా మొత్తం మీద ఆకట్టుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు. నిజానికి ఇది చాలా చిన్న లైన్ ను అల్లుకుని చేసిన సినిమా. ఇలాంటి ప్రయత్నాలు ఎక్కువ మలయాళ పరిశ్రమలోనే జరుగుతున్నాయి. అయితే కధతో ప్రేక్షకలను అలరించే ప్రయత్నం చేసి కొంతవరకు సక్సెస్ అయ్యాడు డైరెక్టర్. యూత్ ను బేస్ చేసుకుని ఈ సినిమా చేసినట్టు అనిపించింది. ఫస్ట్ హాఫ్ కంటే ఎందుకో సెకండాఫ్ ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ అనిపించింది.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే: విజయ్ భాస్కర్ కుమారుడు శ్రీ కమల్ ఈ సినిమాతో హీరోగా పరిచయం కాగా మొదటి ప్రయత్నంలోనే అందర్నీ మెప్పించే ప్రయత్నం చేసి కొంతవరకు సక్సెస్ అయ్యాడు. శివానీ రాజశేఖర్ తన పాత్రలో లీనమైంది. బబ్లూ సాయి కుమార్, అంకిత్ కొత్త, వైవా సన్నీ, మురళీ శర్మ, రాజేంద్ర ప్రసాద్ వంటి వారు తమ పాత్రలకు న్యాయం చేశారు. టెక్నికల్ టీమ్ విషయానికి వస్తే.. డైరెక్టర్ విజయ్ భాస్కర్ ఎంచుకున్న పాయింట్ బాగుంది కానీ తెరకెక్కించే క్రమంలో కొంత పట్టు తప్పింది. డైలాగ్స్ ఆకట్టుకునేలా ఉన్నాయి. మణిశర్మ గురించి చెప్పేది ఏముంది ఆయన అందించిన పాటలు, బీజీ బాగున్నాయి. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సినిమాకి ప్లస్ పాయింట్. నిర్మాణ విలువలు సినిమాకు రిచ్ నెస్ తీసుకొచ్చాయి.

ఫైనల్ గా జిలేబీ అందరికీ నచ్చకపోయినా టార్గెట్ చేసుకున్న యూత్ ను ఆకట్టుకునే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయి.

Jilebi (2023) Movie: What's Behind

Ace director Vijaya Bhaskar who is renowned for his hits like Swayamvaram, Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naku Nachchav, Manmadhudu, and Malliswari is coming back after a long hibernation to introduce his son Sree Kamal with a youthful entertainer titled Jilebi. The film's promos got a good response and the film is releasing on 18 August 2023. Let us find out how Jilebi tasted at the box office. The film's OTT rights are yet to be finalized and streaming will be after the completion of its theatrical run.

Jilebi (2023) Telugu Movie: Story Review

Jilebi's story is all about four college-going friends in a hostel and how their life changes due to a girl. Kamal (Sree Kamal), a college student who lives in a hostel, gets into a peculiar situation with a girl named GLB (G. Lakshmi Bharathi) aka Jilebi (Shivani Rajasekhar). How he came into contact with Jilebi and the consequences faced by him, how they are connected to his friends Bujji (Sai Kumar Babloo), Bobby (Ankit Koyya), Washington (Viva Sunny), Jilebi father MLA Rudra Pratap Rana (Murli Sharma), hostel warden Dhairyam (Rajendra Prasad), Paidithalli (Bodupalli Srinu) and auto driver Nani (Chammak Chandra) should be found on screen.

Jilebi Telugu Movie: Artists Review

 Vijaya Bhaskar's son  Sree Kamal on debut worked hard for his role. He is at ease while dancing with full energy. He played the role of a student accordingly showing good emotions and expressions. A little bit of fine-tuning and working on his dialogue delivery and expressions will help him in the future.

Shivani Rajasekhar played the role of a young girl with confidence. She emoted and expressed herself well according to the situation. She played a role that is pivotal to the film's story. Rajendra Prasad got minimum screen presence in the first half but in the second half in the runup to the climax, he showed good emotions and expressions. He with his body language evoked a few laughs.

Sai Kumar Babloo, Ankith Koyya, and Viva Sunny played the roles of Sree Kamal's friends in the film and they with their antics managed to entertain viewers in a few scenes. Murli Sharma got the limited role and he is ok while Chammak Chandra is good in a small role. Others performed according to their roles.

Jilebi Movie: Technicians Review

Jilebi's story readied by Vijaya Bhaskar is a hilarious entertainer. He tried to generate fun with a girl in a boy's hostel. Earlier many such stories or scenes came in many films and Vijaya Bhaskar seems to have drawn inspiration from them. The narration picks up the pace a bit after a routine start with the hero introduced with a youthful foot-tapping song and later the heroine entering his hostel. The dialogues look ordinary and at times look funny to tickle the ribs of the people.

The end of the first half sets the tone for the exciting second half. The second half looks more organized than the second half as Vijaya Bhaskar concentrated on the start of the first half, introducing all the characters and taking his own time. The second half scenes with the warden inspecting the rooms though looked old generated interesting fun.

The black magic scene in the second half is highlighted and taken to another level thanks to Rajendra Prasad's experience and performance. Dialogues of Vijaya Bhaskar looked just ok but at times they created the magic. Vijaya Bhaskar's screenplay is decent in the second half compared to the first half and the direction is ok.

Mani Sharma's couple of songs are youthful and foot-tapping. The introduction song shot on Sree Kamal highlighted his dancing skills. The song is shot in a lavish and exotic way in the beautiful Bangkok locations. The other song was shot on Shivani and others acted as a speed breaker and the song has a hilarious tinge. Mani Sharma's background score is in sync with the storyline.

MR. Varma's editing is ok and could have been better as there are quite a few scenes that are repetitive and impacted the film's tempo. Satish Muthyala with his cinematography beautified the film turning it colorful. Production values of  Vijaya Bhaskar Kraft, SRK Arts, and Anju Asrani Kreations banners are good.

Altogether, Jilebi is a hilarious entertainer. Vijaya Bhaskar penned the story and directed it to propel his son Sree Kamal on the big screen. Vijaya Bhaskar's idea to launch his son in a light-hearted hilarious entertainer is appreciable. He came up with an interesting plot and included hilarious scenes to entertain everyone. The story turned out to be simple and screenplay is decent and the direction is ok. Reworking the script and adding a few Genex ideas and thoughts getting experienced and most happening people in the industry would have helped the film to take off to another level. Considering all these points, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 Rating .

Story: In Jilebi’s story, four college mates who live in a dorm describe how a girl affects their lives. A strange situation arises between Kamal (Sree Kamal), a college student who resides in a dorm, and GLB (G. Lakshmi Bharathi), also known as Jilebi (Shivani Rajasekhar). How he came into contact with Jilebi and the consequences faced by him, how they are connected to his friends Bujji (Sai Kumar Babloo), Bobby (Ankit Koyya), Washington (Viva Sunny), Jilebi father MLA Rudra Pratap Rana (Murli Sharma), hostel warden Dhairyam (Rajendra Prasad), Paidithalli (Bodupalli Srinu) and auto driver Nani (Chammak Chandra) should be found on screen.

Performances: Sree Kamal does a good job in emotional scenes. He does a great job in his part, but he needs to improve his acting. There is a lot of rivalry out there. Shivani Rajasekhar performs admirably in her role as usual. Even though Rajendra Prasad just had a small part in the film, it was good to see him there. In their respective parts, Sai Kumar Babloo, Ankith Koyya, Murali Sharma, Chammak Chandra, and Viva Sunny all excelled.

Vijaya Bhaskar makes a lasting impression by providing a fun first half. He made an alternative try by putting a girl in a dorm with boys. The dialogue in the movie is alright. The bulk of the plot is revealed in the second half.

The second half’s use of dark magic stands out as a standout feature. Now that Rajendra Prasad has your attention with his hilarious timing, it’s time to applaud him.

The movie’s script is alright. They gave everything they had. Mani Sharma is the composer of the music. A special note should be made to the intro song by Sree Kamal and the visuals that accompany it. The production companies behind the movie are SRK Arts and Anju Asrani Kreations. Jilebi was produced with high standards and no compromises.

Technicalities: Vijaya Bhaskar’s preparation of Jilebi’s tale is a fantastic entertainment. He made an effort to have fun with a girl at a dorm for boys. In the past, numerous films had these kinds of tales or sequences, and Vijaya Bhaskar appears to have taken inspiration from them. After a conventional beginning in which the hero is introduced with a youthful foot-tapping song and the heroine subsequently enters his dormitory, the tale quickens a little. The dialogues appear commonplace and occasionally amusing to tease viewers’ funny bones.

The thrilling second half begins with the first half’s conclusion. As Vijaya Bhaskar focused on the beginning of the first half, presenting all the characters and taking his time, the second half appears to be better organised than the second half. Even though the scenes of the warden examining the apartments in the second half were dated, they were entertaining.

Vijaya Bhaskar’s dialogues often appeared passable, but occasionally they worked their charm. The second half of Vijaya Bhaskar’s screenplay is better than the first, and the director is adequate.

A few of Mani Sharma’s songs are upbeat and young. His dance abilities were highlighted in the intro song for Sree Kamal. The song is lavishly and exotically filmed in stunning Bangkok settings. The other song, which has a humorous undertone, was recorded with Shivani and other people acting as speed bumps. The background music, by Mani Sharma, complements the narrative.

The editing by MR. Varma is adequate but could have been better because several scenes are repetitious and slow down the pace of the movie. With his cinematography, Satish Muthyala made the movie more beautiful and colourful. The banners for Vijaya Bhaskar Kraft, SRK Arts, and Anju Asrani Kreations have good production values.

Analysis: Jilebi is a wonderful entertainer all around. The narrative, which was written and directed by Vijaya Bhaskar to launch his son Sree Kamal onto the big screen. It was a good idea for Vijaya Bhaskar to cast his kid in a funny, lighthearted comedy. To keep everyone entertained, he devised an intriguing plot and added humorous sequences. The screenplay is passable, the direction is adequate, and the story turned out to be straightforward. Reworking the script and incorporating a few Genex ideas and thoughts, as well as hiring the most knowledgeable and in-demand experts in the business, would have helped the movie reach new heights. Taking all of this into account

Verdict:  This movie, which is being directed by Vijay K. Bhaskar and stars Sree Kamal and Shivani Rajashekhar, promises to give its audience an exciting experience. Mark your calendars, and be ready to experience Jilebi’s tension and excitement. Jilebi is a young performer. Watch it for the buddy comedy scenes, the original idea, and the atmosphere it masterfully creates.

తమిళ నటుడు జయం రవి, కీర్తి సురేశ్‌ కీలకపాత్రల్లో నటించిన యాక్షన్‌ థ్రిల్లర్‌ ‘సైరెన్‌’. ఈ ఏడాది ఫిబ్రవరిలో తమిళంలో విడుదలైన ఈ మూవీ బాక్సాఫీస్‌ వద్ద మంచి విజయాన్ని అందుకుంది. తెలుగులోనూ విడుదల చేద్దామనుకున్నారు. కానీ, సాధ్యపడలేదు. ప్రస్తుతం డిస్నీ+హాట్‌స్టార్‌ వేదికగా ఈ మూవీ స్ట్రీమింగ్ అవుతోంది. మరి ‘సైరెన్‌’ మోత మోగిందా? తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు నచ్చుతుందా?

కథేంటంటే: ప్రేమించి, పెళ్లి చేసుకున్న భార్య జెన్నీఫర్‌(అనుపమ పరమేశ్వరన్‌)ను హత్య చేసిన కేసులో అంబులెన్స్‌ డ్రైవర్‌ తిలక్‌ (జయం రవి) జైలుకు వెళ్తాడు. తల్లి చనిపోవడం, తండ్రి జైలుకు వెళ్లడంతో తిలక్‌ కూతురును అతడి అక్క పెంచుతుంది. ‘ఖైదీ కూతురు’ అని అందరూ ఎగతాళి చేస్తుండటంతో చిన్నతనం నుంచి తండ్రి తిలక్‌ అంటే ఆమెకు అస్సలు ఇష్టం ఉండదు. పెరోల్‌పై వచ్చేందుకు అవకాశం ఉన్నా, తిలక్‌ జైలు నుంచి బయటకురాడు. అయితే, అతడి మంచితనం నచ్చి, కూతురిని చూసి రమ్మంటూ జైలు సూపరింటెండెంట్‌ సలహా ఇస్తాడు. తిలక్‌ పెరోల్‌పై బయటకు వచ్చినప్పుడల్లా నగరంలో హత్యలు జరుగుతాయి. ఈ హత్య కేసులను విచారణ చేసే బాధ్యత పోలీస్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌ నందిని (కీర్తి సురేశ్‌)కి అప్పగిస్తుంది డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌. తిలక్‌పై అనుమానం వచ్చిన నందిని.. అతడే నిందితుడు అంటూ అదుపులోకి తీసుకుంటుంది. అయితే, సరైన ఆధారాలు దొరక్క విడిచిపెడుతూ ఉంటుంది. మరి విచారణలో పోలీస్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌ నందినికి తెలిసిన నిజాలు ఏంటి? జెన్నీఫర్‌ను హత్య చేసింది ఎవరు? ఐపీఎస్ ఆఫీస‌ర్ నాగ‌లింగంపై (స‌ముద్ర‌ఖ‌ని) తిలక్‌ పగకు కారణం ఏంటి? చివరకు తిలక్‌ కూతురు అతడికి దగ్గరైందా? తెలియాలంటే సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే!

ఎలా ఉందంటే: ప్రాణం కన్నా మిన్నగా ప్రేమించిన వారిని కోల్పోవడం.. చేయని తప్పునకు జైలు శిక్ష అనుభవించడం.. జైలు జీవితం గడిపి బయటకు వచ్చిన తర్వాత తన జీవితాన్ని చిన్నాభిన్నం చేసిన వారిపై కథానాయకుడు పగ తీర్చుకోవడం..  ఈ ఫార్మాట్‌లో కొన్ని వందల సినిమాలు వచ్చాయి. సైరెన్‌ కూడా ఆ బాపతు చిత్రమే. అయితే, కథనంపరంగా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకుని, ప్రేక్షకుడికి కనెక్ట్‌ అయ్యేలా మూవీ తీయడంలో మాత్రం దర్శకుడు ఆంటోనీ భాగ్యరాజ్‌ విజయం సాధించారు. జైలు జీవితాన్ని గడుపుతున్న తిలక్‌ కథను ఒకవైపు చూపిస్తూనే, పవర్‌ఫుల్‌ పోలీస్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌గా కీర్తి సురేశ్‌ను మరోవైపు చూపిస్తూ రెండు పాత్రలకు సమ ప్రాధాన్యం ఇస్తూ కథను మొదలుపెట్టాడు దర్శకుడు. ఎప్పుడైతే తిలక్‌ పెరోల్‌పై బయటకు వచ్చాడో అప్పుడే ప్రముఖ రాజకీయ నాయకుడు హత్యకు గురవడం కలకలం రేగుతుంది. అలాగే మరొకరి హత్యా జరుగుతుంది. ఇవన్నీ పగ తీర్చుకోవడంలో భాగంగా కథనాయకుడు చేస్తున్నాడన్న సంగతి సినిమా చూస్తున్న ప్రేక్షకుడికి అర్థమవుతున్నా కానీ, ఎందుకు హత్యలు చేస్తున్నాడన్న హుక్‌ పాయింట్‌ వెంటాడుతుండటంతో మూవీ ఎక్కడా విసుగ్గా అనిపించకుండా దర్శకుడు స్క్రీన్‌ప్లేతో మేజిక్‌ చేశాడు. ద్వితీయార్ధం కూడా హత్య ఇన్వెస్టిగేషన్‌ చుట్టూనే తిరుగుతున్నా, విచారణ అంతా రొటీన్‌గా ఉండటం కాస్త మైనస్‌. చాలా సన్నివేశాలు లాజిక్‌కు దూరంగా నడుస్తూ ఉంటాయి. సీరియస్‌ టోన్‌లో నడుస్తున్న మూవీకి మధ్య మధ్యలో యోగిబాబు కామెడీ కాస్త రిలీఫ్‌. ఒక ఎమోషనల్‌ డ్రామాతో సినిమాను ముగించిన తీరు బాగుంది.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే: మధ్య వయస్కుడిగా తిలక్‌ పాత్రలో జయం రవి తనదైన నటన కనబరిచారు. కథ, పాత్రకు ఎంత అవసరమో అదే స్థాయిలో నటించారు. కీర్తి సురేశ్‌ పాత్ర కాస్త అతిగా అనిపిస్తుంది. పవర్‌ఫుల్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌గా చూపించాలనుకున్నారు కానీ, తెరపై ఆ ప్రభావం కనిపించలేదు. మిగిలిన వాళ్లు తమ పరిధి మేరకు నటించారు. సాంకేతికంగా సినిమా ఓకే. నిడివి విషయంలో ఇంకాస్త జాగ్రత్త తీసుకుని ఉంటే బాగుండేది. దర్శకుడు ఆంటోనీ భాగ్యరాజ్‌ ఎంచుకున్న కథ కొత్తది కాకపోయినా, ప్రజెంట్‌ చేసిన విధానం బాగుంది. రివేంజ్‌ డ్రామాతో పాటు, కుల వ్యవస్థను కూడా ప్రశ్నించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు.

కుటుంబంతో కలిసి చూడొచ్చా: ఎలాంటి ఇబ్బంది లేకుండా చూడొచ్చు. అసభ్య సన్నివేశాలు, పదజాలం ఎక్కడా లేదు. డిస్నీ+హాట్‌స్టార్‌లో తెలుగులోనూ అందుబాటులో ఉంది.

9 new telugu movies on netflix in 2024.

2024 will see the addition of new Telugu movies on Netflix to add to its already growing catalog of South Indian cinema classics and newer fare.

• Tollywood has seen success with international hits like RRR, poised to break out beyond South Asia.
• Exciting Telugu films on Netflix in 2024 cater to a pan-Indian audience with action and drama.
• From romantic dramas to hyperstylized action, the diverse slate of Telugu movies indicates Tollywood's staying power.

There is a large slate of new Telugu movies on Netflix in 2024, some of which have already been released on the streamer and others that are set to appear in the weeks and months after their theatrical releases. The Telugu language film industry is popularly known as Tollywood and it's an offshoot of Bollywood . While Bollywood may have a larger cultural footprint, the Telugu movie market actually surpassed the Hindi one in 2021 (via Business Today ). Many still may have higher expectations for upcoming Bollywood movies in 2024 , but Tollywood has its share of exciting releases.

With the incredible success of RRR , Tollywood movies have never been more poised to break out of the South Indian and South Asian markets and become, like RRR , international hits. Like Bollywood movies, Tollywood also features dance numbers, impossible physics, and plenty of delightful melodrama, but Telugu films have a greater focus on action and tend to cater to a pan-Indian audience rather than specifically a Hindi-speaking one. All this and the bevy of new Telugu language movies coming to Netflix in 2024 indicate Tollywood is here to stay.

9 Hi Nanna (2023)

Available on netflix january 4, 2024.

Released theatrically on December 7, 2023, and appearing on Netflix less than a month later, Hi Nanna is a romantic drama directed by Shouryuv in his directorial debut. The film tells the story of a six-year-old with cystic fibrosis, Mahi (Kiara Khanna), who meets a mysterious but kind woman, Yashna (Mrunal Thakur). With Yashna's help, Mahi convinces her father Viraj (Nani) to tell the story of Mahi's mother, who disappeared years ago . What no one expects is just how critical Yashna ends up being to both this story and Mahi.

Hi Nanna has fantastic chemistry between its two leads and is a heartwarming tale that powers through some of the weaker moments of the story. The film earned over $1.5 million at the US box office (via Times of India ), a milestone for the new filmmaker. It was also nominated for 15 awards and won in each category over three ceremonies: Behindwoods Gold Hall Of Famers Event 2023, Athens International Art Films Festival (March Edition), and Oniros Film Awards, New York (March Edition).

The 10 Best Bollywood Movies On Netflix

8 salaar: part 1 – ceasefire (2023), available on netflix january 20, 2024, salaar: part 1 - ceasefire.

Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire premiered in theaters on December 22, 2023, and then ended up on Netflix a month later, in 2024. Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire depicts the friendship between Deva (Prabhas), a tribesman, and Varadha (Prithviraj Sukumaran), the prince of Khansaar . When his father is threatened by a coup d'état, Varadha calls upon his friend Deva to save his crown.

The film earned upwards of 715 crore worldwide, or around $85 million US (via Hindustan Times ), making it the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2023, the third highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, and 11th highest-grossing Indian film of all time. Not just a commercial success, Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire also earned a 73% on Rotten Tomatoes and a sequel is already in the works, titled Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam and set for release in late 2025 (via DNAIndia ).

7 Guntur Kaaram (2024)

Available on netflix february 9, 2024.

Guntur Kaaram follows the tumultuous life of Veera Venkata Ramana (Mahesh Babu), whose family is torn apart by political scheming and personal vendettas . Set in Guntur in 1998 and later in 2023, it explores the repercussions of a violent incident that lands Ramana's father, Satyam (Jayaram), in jail. As Ramana navigates a world of corruption and betrayal, he discovers shocking truths about his family and must fight to protect them. Released in theaters on January 12, 2024, Guntur Kaaram landed on Netflix on February 9, 2024.

The film only earned 172 crore at the worldwide box office, or $20.5 million US (via Pinkvilla ), making it a box office bomb and the lowest return for any Mahesh Babu film since 2019. Guntur Kaaram does have many issues, including its plotting, music, and screenplay, but Babu is in top form, managing to carry the film alone and ensuring it's still an enjoyable watch.

6 Tillu Square (2024)

In theaters march 29, 2024; netflix release date is unknown.

Tillu Square , a romantic comedy-drama from Mallik Ram, is a sequel to the 2022 DJ Tillu , and it was released theatrically on March 29, 2024. Digital distribution rights were purchased by Netflix, but it's unknown when the film will appear on the streamer (via M9 ). Siddhu Jonnalagadda reprises his role as Bala Gangadhar Tilak aka "DJ Tillu", and this time around, DJ Tillu's love interest is Lilly Joseph (Anupama Parameswaran).

Lily turns out to be more than meets the eye when she reveals she's an undercover Indian Special Forces agent sent to assassinate underworld kingpin, Sheikh Mehboob (Murali Sharma). Twelve days after release, Tillu Square had already earned 75 crore, around $12.5 million USD, a significant amount (via Koimoi ). Funny and action-packed, Tillu Square makes clever callbacks to the original film while still being a worthy successor. A third film in the franchise, Tillu Cube , is announced at the end of the movie though no news has come out.

5 NBK109 (2024)

In theaters may 15, 2024; netflix release date is unknown.

Nandamuri Balakrishna stars in the upcoming NBK109 , a Telugu action drama set for release on May 15, 2024, and the rights for digital release have already been purchased by Netflix, though it's unknown how long after the theatrical release it will appear on the platform (via Cinema Express ). Not much is known about the upcoming movie, but Bobby Deol and Urvashi Rautela are set to appear alongside Balakrishna, who, as he often does, will be playing the powerful and skilled hero taking down some kind of antagonistic organization .

This is Kolli Santosh Ravindra's (who often works under the name Bobby Kolli) sixth film and the music is composed by S Thaman. From the teaser trailer, NBK109 looks to be a fiery and intense action thriller with the same entertaining central performance from Balakrishna that audiences have come to expect from the prolific star.

Gangs of Godavari has gone through a few production delays, at one point even being replaced by Gangs of Godavari star Vishwak Sen's epic thriller Gaami (via Times of India ). First set to release in December 2023, then moved to March 2024, before finally getting a May 17, 2024 release date for theaters, it appears that Gangs of Godavari is on its way. Sen posted on Instagram to his 1.3 million followers in March 2024 about the film's release,

"Get ready to witness the Most rugged and violent tale from the banks of Godavari! Mass ka Das @vishwaksens’s #GangsofGodavari to release on 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, worldwide. Meet you in theatres this Summer. #GOGOnMay17th"

Not much more is known about the project, but Netflix does have the digital release rights (via OTTplay ). When they plan on putting the film on their channel is currently unknown . Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the soundtrack and background score and the film is also set to star Anjali, Neha Shetty, Nassar, and P. Sai Kumar among its ensemble cast.

3 Devara: Part 1 (2024)

In theaters april 5, 2024; expected on netflix may 31, 2024.

Devara , or Devara: Part 1 , is a Telugu action movie from director Koratala Siva that is set to release theatrically on April 5, 2024. Netflix gained the rights for digital distribution, which stipulate that the streamer must wait a minimum of 56 days after its theatrical release before Devara can be placed on the platform, meaning May 31, 2024, is the earliest date it may appear (via News18 ). The movie is set to star N. T. Rama Rao Jr. as the titular character, Devaraju "Devara".

This will be N. T. Rama Rao Jr.'s first role since his starring performance in RRR as Komaram Bheem. It's also the second collaboration between director Koratala Siva and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. after their 2016 film, Janatha Garage , another popular movie. Expectations are high for Devara and the filmmaker has lofty hopes for the series as well, considering he titled it " Part 1 ".

2 Buddy (2024)

Buddy is set to be released in theaters on June 15, 2024, and while Netflix has streaming rights, it's unknown when the Telugu movie will appear on the platform (via FilmiBeat ). Director Sam Anton has only worked in Tamil language films previously and Buddy will be his Telugu feature film debut. Starring Allu Sirish, Buddy is a hyperstylized action film that appears to be a combination of Taken and Ted . In the short shared video, a team of masked men are hired by a man in a Purge -style mask to kill an anthropomorphic teddy bear .

Before they can get to the stuffed toy, Allu Sirish arrives on the scene and easily defeats the hitman, and the bear joins in with an oversized weapon of his own, taking on the leader. Stylish, action-packed, and darkly funny, Buddy looks to be a completely unique Tollywood movie.

1 Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024)

Pushpa 2: The Rule is a 2024 follow-up to the 2021 action film Pushpa: The Rise , starring Allu Arjun as Molleti Pushpa Raj, the namesake of the series. In Pushpa 2: The Rule , the main character is ruling over his underworld empire and dealing with all the problems that come with being the king . The film is set for release in theaters on August 15, 2024, and Netflix has acquired the rights to the digital release of the movie, though no premiere date has been announced (via Variety ).

Bandreddi Sukumar, director of the first Pushpa film, returns to the chair in the sequel to his action-packed Telugu movie . Sukumar has reworked the script of Pushpa 2: The Rule several times, hoping to meet the high expectations set by the first movie (via Times of India ).
