A doctor is a useful member of the community. Whether we live in a village, town, city or metro city, we all have the contact numbers of doctors near us. This is because we never know when an emergency arises and when we need a doctor. The doctor is an angel for the patients. He saves the lives of people suffering from different kinds of diseases. He gives them a new life and hope. He reduces their pain and gives them medical treatment.

In today’s world, medical science has shown a lot of development. As a result of which, the treatment of various dangerous diseases like cancer is possible. This has also increased the lifespan of human beings, and they keep healthy and fit in their old age as well. This is a miracle that wasn’t possible without the contribution of doctors.

If I were a doctor, I would first take the oath of fulfilling my duty and responsibility as a doctor in the right manner. I would do my work with full dedication and honesty. For me, my duty towards patients would be the first one. I would stay cool and calm in all types of situations and even handle the most critical cases with care.

If I were a doctor, I would make sure that I treat people with full sincerity. I would treat every patient personally and monitor them throughout their treatment so they recover soon. I would offer free treatment to those people who cannot afford to go to hospitals and are poor. In this way, I would do social work. I would spend my weekends in the service of the poor, the needy and the socially backward people who are suffering from diseases and need treatment and care. I would not work just to earn money. Serving the people would be my first priority to me, and money would only be secondary.

If I were a doctor, I would have helped people during the COVID-19 pandemic. I would have given myself to the service of the people. There were so many people who died during COVID because of not getting treatment. There was a lack of doctors and nurses in the hospitals. I would have isolated myself from my family and treated the patients by staying at the hospital only. I would have spread awareness among the people regarding the cause of the spread of coronavirus and told them how they could save themselves.

If I were a doctor, I would recommend people opt for a healthy lifestyle. I would motivate them to do daily yoga and exercise for at least 30 minutes. People should devote themselves to physical exercise if they want to stay healthy and fit. They should eat healthy food and follow a properly balanced diet. I would recommend people cut down on fast food and street food. I would organise awareness campaigns related to the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes, drugs etc. and educate people regarding their harmful effects.

Doctors are considered gods as they bring back life and treat illness. A good doctor is a blessing to society and the country, and that is why I would love to be a doctor.

If I Were a Doctor

A doctor is perhaps the most useful member of the society. He is an angel for his patients as he draws them out of the jaws of death. He works with a missionary zeal and sacrifices his comforts to the service of mankind. Even at odd hours he is prepared to attend to the patients. His mission is to restore his patients’ health. He reinvokes in his patients a desire to live and live healthy and purposefully. Such doctors are few and far between.

If I become a doctor, I will never ignore or forget the oath I undertook to serve ailing human beings to the best of my ability selflessly and without any ulterior purpose. To be so will minimize my wants. This will prevent me from making my profession a money-minting machine. My fees will be moderate and the poor will be treated free of charge. When I have no lure for money I will be able to imbibe the qualities of sympathy, kindness and love and make them an integral part of my personality. For home visits I will not charge more.

I will try to make every season healthy. My stress will be on prevention. I will teach people hygiene and sanitation and use of certain medicines as first aid. I will remain true to my profession and will not recommend medicines that guarantee a good commission for me. I will respect the tests done by the established laboratories and will not ask my patients to undergo tests again and that too from the particular labs.

I will keep my desire to learn and amass new knowledge alive and will remain a student all my life. I will have update knowledge.

I will not issue false medical certificate to people. Moreover, I will not keep the relatives of the sick in darkness and tell them the real condition of the sick.

I pray to God to give me strength enough to follow the ideals set by myself.

It was a good essay but there’s a problem there. Why you have taken ‘he’ as a pronoun for doctors? I mean there are so much successful female doctors present out there. Maybe you’ve done it by mistake. Hope it’s the only matter.

' src=

The essay is fantastic 😍. But I wouldn’t say I like it because you only used male pronouns to complete the essay. You should use both like he/she is an angel to their patients.

' src=

This is to good at all and I wouldn’t ask you that the female also have power to become a doctor Thank you

' src=

The essay is best.

If I Were A Doctor (Essay Sample)

More than 2,000 diseases have been determined and classified by the World Health Organization (WHO). Because of many sick people suffering, I imagine myself as a doctor and what should I do as one. However, being a doctor has its difficulties, especially in rural communities where health beliefs contradict with or are different from medical practitioners. If I were a doctor, I will ensure that I am sensitive and responsive to the cultural beliefs of my patients, update myself with the latest in the field by reading journals every day, and provide my service for free to the needy.

As a doctor, I will be aware of and respond to the cultural beliefs of my patients. In order to become an effective healer, I must know who my patients are: what they think about their disease, its origins, and its treatment options. For instance, if I keep on insisting that they are wrong about their suffering being caused by an “evil witch” but if that is what they truly believe in, then they will also not follow my advice regarding drinking their medicine. On the contrary, if I listen to what they say about this “witch” and how it affects them mentally before I provide the medical prescription, they will be more open about what they do on a daily basis and I can even diagnose the possible causes or conditions of their disease with greater precision. Furthermore, by intently listening to their cultural beliefs and practices, I can also learn from their treatment modes. Many kinds of medicines come from natural substances after all. However, if I surmised that their local “treatment” is doing them more harm than good, I should find culturally-sensitive ways of inserting my medical beliefs into their ideology. In other words, I will not impose what I think is right because I want them to blindly accept the superiority of my worldview but to add my advice to what is existing in their mind if they are unprepared of complete mental changes. Hopefully, in time, they can alter their health beliefs and avoid activities that injure them.

If I were a doctor, I would also become a regular journal reader and applier of updated knowledge. Some medical professionals forget to increase their knowledge and become stuck on “old” beliefs and practices instead. Health technologies and information develop rapidly and doctors have to keep up or lose their effectiveness. Now, if the studies have mixed findings, I would have to verify with my own experience what works best in particular conditions and with specific patients. With time and energy, I may even contribute to existing research by sending in my comments and scientific studies to peer-reviewed journals. I would like to be active in writing as well to present my take and decrease literature gaps in my field.

Finally, since I will be accepting people without enough income as my patients, I will serve them for free. Doctors get free medicine and other materials from pharmaceutical companies; I will use these freebies and give them to the poor. Many low-income people can do much better in life if they can have free medical services. Since health care is not free in many nations, I would offer my services without payment to those lacking financial resources. I will gladly accept payment in kind as well if they will provide it because I want them to also feel their financial independence and that they can pay for the services they need. In time, with access to doctors, the poor should be able to improve their health and prevent the spread or progression of their diseases.

A doctor has the power to heal and but also conduct multiple responsibilities. To their patients, they must be respectful and open-minded and to themselves, as practitioners, they should be knowledgeable of the latest breakthroughs in information and technology. If I were a doctor, I will go beyond what is “minimum” and become the best one possible- a doctor with an agile, growing mind and a beating, empathetic heart.

298 Words Essay for School Students on if I were a Doctor

essay on if i were a doctor in english

In my short young life, I have already experienced the need of a good doctor in the society. When my grandmother fell seriously ill last year, in our village there was no doctor who could be called and consulted for her immediate relief or cure.

My father had to walk a couple of miles away from our house for contacting a doctor at night. But the doctor refused to accompany him at that hour of the night. This had greatly upset my father. He stayed all the night there, and escorted the doctor in the morning to our house. By that time, the condition of health of my grandmother badly deteriorated, because she was not attended by a doctor in time, not promptly given the necessary medicines.

My grandmother died after some time. This sad incident made my heart greatly moved. I promised that day that must be a doctor when I grow up. And with that determination, I have been prosecuting my studies very seriously. I would live not to see my parents, or the near and dear ones, or even my neighbours die helplessly like my grandmother.

I shall always be ready to serve the sick patients, whenever needed, be it at day or at night. As a doctor, being in a Respectable profession, I must feel that I am a social worker who has to perform the sacred duty and responsibility of serving the people of my country.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

If I would find that a poor patient could not afford the doctor’s fee or even the cost of the medicines, I would come forward to waive the former and pay in cash money for the latter. I feel that an ideal doctor must adjust his professional needs with social service.

Paragraph on “If I were a Doctor”

essay on if i were a doctor in english

The profession of a Doctor is the most noble and respected one. They do a great service to the society.

A life gets saved by their hands. They take a lot of effort to cure us from various ailments and to keep us healthy and fit.

If I were to be a doctor, I would first take an oath that I would do my duties and take up my responsibilities as a doctor in a right manner. Being a doctor involves lots of risk and responsibilities too. I may have to face situations that may appear scary, but I would have to stay calm and take the right decisions.

If I were to be a doctor, I would make sure that I would treat people with sincerity and make sure that every patient deserves the right to have a good medication. People who cannot afford treatment, will be treated well by me in the best possible way and save their lives. I will not work for money, as money will be secondary. It is my responsibility to save a life and I should be doing it with due respect.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

People spend so much money to educate their children who are not at all interested in this profession but have passion for something else, to become a doctor. If I were a doctor, I would try to convince parents that this profession has to be done with passion and love, otherwise no doctor could do justice to the patient that comes to him. It is a life that a doctor is tackling with and it has to be done with love, care and passion, then only the benefits would be seen, otherwise it becomes more or less like a business, which could get dangerous.

Doctors are next to God, when it comes to treat illness and bring back life. A good doctor is a blessing not only for himself, but to the society as well, and that is what I would love to be, if I were a doctor.

The Degradation of Doctors

Although the medical field is evolving, there are still immoral practices in the field which makes it tough for patients to get the right treatment. Corruption has not spared this field as well.

India suffers from a high illiteracy rate which results in people fooling the citizens for money. There are many wrongs and unethical medical practices prevalent in India which brings a bad name to the country.

Moreover, the greed for money has resulted in various losses of lives of patients. The hospitals diagnose the patients wrongly and give them the wrong treatment. This results in even more worse results. The public is losing its faith in the medical field and its doctors.

As a result, this impacts the reputation of the medical field. Doctors must be more responsible and vigilant with the lives of their patients. The government must provide the public with good medical facilities which can bridge this gap. In addition, we must also come together to help doctors do their job better.

Essay on doctor for class 8

Essay on doctor for class 8 ,contains many information about the doctor’s career and its importance and all the details and ethics that must be given by the doctor, you will find all this here in  an essay on doctor for class 8.

A doctor’s profession is one of the most important professions in every society. He is responsible for relieving the pain  of the people.  We will talk about all of this here in an essay on doctor for class 8 in English.

A doctor’s career is the job associated with providing medical treatment to patients suffering from injuries and diseases, including the description of traditional therapies.

Also the provision of primary health care, or specialization in a particular field of medicine such as pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, ophthalmology, Etc.

The profession of a physician depends on diagnosing the patient’s health conditions through the use of a set of tests, and then obtaining the results in order to describe the appropriate treatments for the patient, which contributes to the reduction of the impact of the injury or disease. The doctor must have extensive knowledge in the field of medicine.

Every physician should have a set of professional ethics and special careers in the medical profession. The most important of these ethics is: Wisdom which is the ability of the doctor to think carefully about the use of the appropriate expression.

A wise doctor can recognize the symptoms of the disease affecting the patient , depending on the examination in a suitable manner, and then uses the correct expressions to explain the nature of the disease of the patient, without diluting it or make him feel fear or despair, which may affect negatively and increase the impact of disease.

Also patience is important: The doctor is with patients at all times;  As it is his duty to deal with them in various cases of illness.

Some of them suffer from severe illnesses, including those with diseases that were not within their expectations; it is therefore the duties of the doctor and his morals to prepare for all types of patients, and to bear their anger and emotion, and provide appropriate excuses for them.

A doctor paragraph for class 8

There is no doubt that the doctor’s job is one of the important functions that everyone likes. The doctor for children and many adults is an angel of mercy, who works diligently to relieve pain and treat those in need of help.

We often see the doctor in voluntary associations in remote areas such as Sudan and many third world countries, struggling to perform his merciful job without any financial compensation or social benefit.

We often see them afflicted with serious diseases such as malaria, plague, and other serious diseases, yet he fights to complete his work and perform his mission, which is why we see the doctor in the form of an angel.

Doctor essay in English

It is wonderful for a person to become a doctor to help others in society and to obtain a prestigious position in which he is respected and appreciated.

And if the doctor was a human being before he was a worker in this specialty, he would have a great human impact on those around him. Spreading goodness and help is one of the contagious things that others may learn from the doctor in particular.

I also know very well that someday if I want to become a doctor, I must be diligent, persistent, and regular. And I must be a champion in perseverance because that’s how good doctors are. Willing to make many sacrifices, such as dedicating my entire life to this job. Fully  prepared to work day and night, and fully prepared to skip many meals, to meet the call of work at any time.

I must be very confident in myself and control myself, there is no way for thinking that I have made a mistake, and I must control my pride, whether when working with those who are better than me or with a team, I must work as a team and not as an individual, regardless of my experience.

I also know very well that I cannot think of earning money in this job, and if I want it to earn money, it is better for me to choose another job.

This is how I see the doctor’s life and the great responsibility that he bears and all the things that he must take into account.

Essay about doctor career

The profession of doctor represents a great challenge because of its difficulties and continuous effort to progress and learn.

A doctor is one of those people whose education never ends, no matter how old he gets. And the larger his stature became, the more he became in urgent need of more education, so that he would be up to the great responsibility that he had become.

The more the doctor advances in this profession and achieves, the more new cases with great difficulties are presented to him.

This is because of his fame and previous experience, so it requires him to constantly progress in his field, and to strive and continuous fatigue until he is able and ready to face any rare or difficult situation.

There is also the human aspect, which is compassion and kindness to the sick. In this profession, the more the doctor grows, the more humble he becomes, and he possesses a great deal of mercy and kindness in his heart, because of the difficult cases he witnessed and the severe pain he is going through around him, which requires him to work on treating their pain and alleviating and pacifying this pain.

Therefore, the doctor has a respected place in any society, in any place and in any environment. The doctor remains appreciated and respected, and he gains the satisfaction and love of everyone.

Essay on doctor profession in English

The doctor’s profession is one of the professions that has a lot of work that does not end, and that the doctor must sacrifice many things, such as spending long time with his family members, stopping studies, and other things that the doctor cannot do because of his job and respect for himself and his image within the community.

Therefore, the doctor must remain in continuous progress and work hard to improve his abilities and to study many modern medical cases and topics that occur in order to become in line with the best treatments around the world, and the best medicine that can be provided to the patient, and what treatments have been proven it is harmful and not helpful.

All of these things require the doctor to double fatigue for any other job, and ask him to spare time and effort for it after a full working day.

Despite all these difficulties, he must remain merciful and of good character, control his feelings of patients, be considerate of what they are going through, and accept their criticism and nervousness if they are in a bad psychological state because of the pain.

No matter how much pressure and difficulties he is exposed to, he must maintain his calm appearance and a merciful and compassionate personality.

I was here for 2 weeks in the winter. gateway looks much different in person then on its website or in it's brochures. there were two showers for 25 or more men. three people to one small room. food was not too bad. different units are treated very differently. my friend and I snuck into the unit that takes better insurance and they had better lounges and rooms then we did. small staff for patients funded by welfare versus larger staff for better insurance. patients that broke rules or fought or brought in drugs got all the treatment. if I you didn't act out you were on your own. I stayed clean for two months after I left.

Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you had a less than ideal experience. I am glad to report that we have done many physical upgrades to the building and have renovated much of it since that time. In addition, our programs are now divided up by age and gender and not payor. We really have made a strong push to provide the best care and make sure all of our treatment is evidence-based and of the highest level.

This was the worst experience of my life!! I am traumatized and afraid for my life!! Invasion of privacy...scare tactics...just down right evil and cruel!! Mocking recovery and God!! Break of all my rights and confidentiality in the worst way I am in constant fear! Tossed out in the rain no money no shelter and all my belongings! Stolen property fear the fire pit built near gas a Covid outbreak and retaliation!

I agree with the last comment.I was just there and the care is substandard for those people that have medicaid. The treatment I received was definitely substandard. If I didnt want to stay clean I definitely would not of due to the lack of counseling and treatment I received there.Do not go there if you dont have private insurance...

Thank you for your review and I'm sorry your experience was not a good one. We strive to always get better and we have made many renovations to our main campus and improvements to our treatment. We have divided all of our residents by age and gender, and not payor, so commercial and public insurance residents receive the exact same treatment and facilities. All of our treatment is evidence-based and adheres to the standard of care for addiction treatment. We value the feedback and I would hope you would approve of the positive steps we have taken since you were with us.

I brought my so to this facility expecting strong positive results. He went into this facility coming from a week long bender of using and was not happy about being there so far from home (4 hours). I was assured they are used to dealing with kids with dual diagnosis and the program and staff were trained to work with youths. I am sad to say he was there 5 days before I was called to pick him up for not complying with the program. He went in at dinner time on a Thursday night and I was picking him up Tuesday after the holiday weekend. He wasn't even able to have treatment with the regular program during the week since he was only there for one regular business day and it was a holiday weekend. Tuesday he was still going through withdrawal and vomiting and when he was asked to participate with morning group he said he wasn't feeling well still. They had him secluded to his bedroom and he was never sent to see a doctor. They told me I could not speak to him and needed to pick him up. As you can imagine the 4 hour drive to pick him up was very upsetting. I was greatly concerned for his health and the ability of the staff to care for him. After picking him up and having him seen by a doctor he was prescribed medication for his stomach due to the acids from the drugs he had been on. This center was NOT able to care for my child in any way. Over the weekend I had a staff member call and he was swearing while discussing an incident that occurred with another child in the facility. The following day a woman had called for some information and she told me my son was doing well, so I was quite shocked when I was called abruptly on Tuesday to come and pick him up and not even be able to talk with him. I would never take anyone here to this program. II feel the staff lack training and the ability to defuse and control adverse situations. They would rather dismiss your child as opposed to working with these kids who are obviously there for help, some more willing then others. My son should have received medical attention while he was there and maybe he wouldn't have been too sick to participate in group. They did not allow his body to heal from the binge he had been on and instead wanted to force him to sit with a group while vomiting! When I picked him up there was no one there to discuss the situation further or what occurred. The basically handed us the discharge papers and said sign here, goodbye!!
