Maestro is a film that many were waiting for eagerly. The film is the official remake of Andha Adhun and is now live on Disney Hotstar. Let’s see how it is.

Arun(Nithin) is a blind man who earns his living by playing the piano in Goa. Impressed by him, a yesteryear actor(Naresh) invites him to perform for his wife Simran(Tamannah) on their wedding anniversary. Arun lands at the star’s house only to get involved in a deadly murder. Who has been killed? What will Arun do now? What’s Simran’s role in all this? and where do Nabha Natesh and Jisshu Sen Gupta feature in this setup? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

Nithin makes a U-turn from his regular romantic dramas and chooses a role where he gets to perform. Nithin as the blind man suits the character perfectly and does not go overboard. There is no heroism in his role but still, Nithin made sure his body language expresses a lot.

Maestro will surely be a big game-changer for Tamannah as she is amazing in a negative role. Right from her looks to the expressions, Tamannah is top class. Her own voice also suits the negative role. All her scenes with Nithin have been executed so well.

The soul of the film is intact and has not been disturbed by the makers. The backdrop of Goa also suits the theme of the film. Nabha Natesh is neat in her small role and shares good chemistry with Nithin. Racha Ravi and Mangli get good roles and they do well in their given characters.

Minus Points:

Those who have seen the original will surely draw comparisons. Merlapaka Gandhi has directed the film and he has narrated the remake in a faithful manner. But the place where the film drops is the drama quotient. The film originally had gripping drama but the director failed to elevate it in the remake.

Nithin’s role needed more dramatization but he is showcased in a pale and dull manner in tense scenes. The tension he faces in crazy situations has not been elevated properly. If Nithin’s role and thrills would have been showcased in a more interesting manner in the second half, the effect would have been even better.

All the showcased thrills are good but the impact that the original created is missed in the remake. During the climax, the audience is waiting in tension to know the twist and a song breaks out and this drags the ending.

Technical Aspects:

The production values are great as the film has good visuals. The Goan setup and the crime backdrop are elevated well through good camerawork. Music by Mahati Sagar is just about okay but his BGM was classy. The editing is decent and so was the production design. Nithin was also styled well in the film.

Coming to the director Merlapaka Gandhi, he has done a decent job with the remake. He does not experiment much and showcased what was needed. If he would have added more intensity to the drama, things would have been great.

On the whole, Maestro is a faithful remake of Andha Dhun and has interesting thrills. Nithin and Tamannah shoulder the film with their standout performances. All those who have seen the original will surely miss the drama a bit. But those who have not will end up liking this thriller which was some passable suspense elements.

'Tiger 3' Review: Time Pass

This marks the third installment of the popular spy franchise 'Tiger' by Yash Raj Films. Expectations for this film are particularly high, given the success of the same banner's blockbuster "Pathaan," which still resonates in the minds of the audience.

Let's explore the details to uncover what this film has to offer.

Story: Tiger (Salman Khan) gets a job to go to Russia and rescue an important person. There, at St Petersberg in Russian, he finds out that Zoya is supposed to kill that person. 

Tiger saves him and talks to Zoya (Katrina Kaif). She explains that Aatish Rehman (Emraan Hashmi), a former ISI agent, made her do the mission by holding Junior hostage. 

Aatish makes Tiger and Zoya do another job in Istanbul, but they get framed as traitors by their own countries. 

Because of this, Tiger and Zoya go on a dangerous mission to get back at Aatish and stop him from ruining Pakistan and thus building peace between Pakistan and India. 

Artistes’ Performances: Salman Khan delivers his usual impeccable performance in his role. 

Katrina Kaif portrays a gripping character, blending toughness with sensitivity in certain scenes. Her much-anticipated 'towel fight' is well-received, though it's a brief moment.

Emraan Hashmi excels in his role, portraying the perfect villain with precise gestures and body language. 

Simran, as Prime Minister Nasreen Irani, meets the requirements of her character. For Telugu and Tamil audiences, seeing their favorite heroine from earlier times, reappear as the Prime Minister of Pakistan can be a delightful experience.

Revathy, in her role as the RAW Chief, fulfills her part effectively. 

The guest appearance of SRK elicit huge applause in the theater.

Technical Excellence: The movie shows strong technical expertise. The camera work and sound arrangement are top-notch. Tanuj Tiku's background music elevates many regular scenes, on par with that of Hollywood films. The set designs are well done. 

Highlights: Star Cast Action Sequences Production values

Drawback: Amateur making in parts Contrived scenes No tension moments  No haunting songs 

Analysis: The movie begins by emulating scenes from the previous James Bond series, incorporating all the anticipated high-voltage action sequences, gravity-defying stunts, and entertaining yet illogical fighting episodes. 

However, when the film demands a serious approach, it falls short.

A glaring example is the handling of the scenario where the Pakistani PM needs to be rescued; it is treated in a childish manner with excessive cinematic liberties, lacking conviction packed with contrived scenes.

Furthermore, the protagonist's character is designed to rely more on brawn than brains. 

The anticipated and enjoyable episode where Saha Rukh Khan comes to Salman Khan's aid is dealt with a lighter touch, aligning with the tone of Salman's guest role in "Pathaan". Yes, here Pathaan comes to Tiger's assistance.

While the theme of protecting the Pakistani PM Irani, reminiscent of Benazir Bhutto, is intriguing, the narrative fails to deliver a breathtaking storytelling experience. The potential for a gripping tale around foiling the assassination plan remains unrealized.

The concept of a RAW agent and ISI agent in love adds an interesting dimension, but the execution falls short, focusing more on capturing the attention of a teenage audience rather than crafting a mature script with edge-of-the-seat moments. 

The idea of RAW and ISI agents collectively working towards upkeeping the democracy in Pakistan is novel. 

Like a classified spying mission in the film named as 'Time Pass,' the film also lives up to the same title – a 'time pass' entertainer with no significant Diwali blasts or sparks.

Bottomline: No Loud Roar

The Family Star Cast Along with Vijay Deverakonda, the movie stars Mrunal Thakur, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, Vennela Kishore, Jagapathi Babu, Achyuth Kumar, Ravi Babu, Ajay Ghosh, and Divyansha among others in key roles.

Family Star Hindi Dub Release Date Window Confirmed, Claim Reports

Family Star is just around the corner, and Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s fans eagerly await to watch it. It marks another collaboration between the actor and director Parasuram. Since Deverakonda’s last two outings did not impress the audience as their makers had anticipated, fans’ hopes are high for his upcoming family drama. While the movie is simultaneously being released in Telugu and Tamil, details of its Hindi release date are not yet available. However, a new report claims the release will not take much time.

Family Star follows the story of Govardhan, a common man who loves his family. As per the trailer, he does not think twice before fighting goons when it comes to his dear ones. His life seemingly changes when he crosses paths with Indhu, who eventually becomes his better half. Producer Dil Raju has already revealed that most of the movie is a romance comedy, and the rest is a family drama. Therefore, seeing how the movie will unfold on the silver screens would be interesting.

When will Family Star Hindi version release?

Family Star’s Telugu and Tamil exclusive theatrical releases are taking place on April 5, 2024. Now, all eyes are on the movie’s Hindi dub’s release date. According to a report by 123telugu.com, the Hindi version will be out in the next two weeks. Alongside the Hindi dub, the movie will be released in Malayalam.

Fans are upset with the news as there is a massive buzz around Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s pairing.

Apart from the two leads, the Family Star also features Abhinaya, Vasuki, Ravi Babu, and Vennela Kishore. Moreover, a cameo by Rashmika Mandanna is also making rounds. However, when the producer was questioned about the same, he refused to answer and asked the audience to watch the movie.
