Before filling out the online application, please check the vacant positions and the eligibility criteria for admission displayed on the University website.
Scanned copy of Marks Statement of Master's Degree. (if not acquired, Marksheet should be submitted at the time of personal interview).
Scanned copy of Caste Certificate in case of Reserved Category Candidates (if applicable).
Scanned copy of Non - Creamy Layer Certificate in case of Reserved Category Candidates (if applicable).
Scanned copy of Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in case of Specially/Differently Abled candidates (if applicable).
Scanned copy of certificate issued by Women and child development department for orphan candidates (if applicable).
Candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying examination of the course, are allowed to apply for PET. However, the admission of such candidates is subject to their passing the qualifying examination.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to fulfil the eligibility conditions and comply with the admission requirements. If at any stage, any claim is found false, or not meeting the eligibility criteria, the candidature shall be cancelled.
Candidates are NOT required to submit the printout of the application or any documents to the University after online submission. However, these documents are to be submitted at the time of personal interview at the selected research centre, if the candidate qualifies the examination.
Incomplete applications/applications without uploading required documents/ applications submitted after the due date will be rejected without assigning any reason and no correspondence will be entertained by the University in this regard.
No request for change in any information submitted in the online form (like mobile no., Email ID, Centre etc.) will be entertained by the University.
Candidates from reserved category other than Maharashtra shall be considered in the Open category.
Admission is provisional subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.
Ones fee is paid, it will not be refunded on any ground.
The result shall be declared provisionally as qualified/ not qualified.
Reservation regarding specially/differently abled candidates shall be made applicable as per the State Government Policy.
Candidates already admitted or selected for Ph.D. are not eligible to apply.

The following candidates are eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme: Candidates who have completed:

A 1-year/2-semester master' s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master's degree programme after a 3-year bachelor's degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institutions accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institutions.

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the commission from time to time.

Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of commission from time to time.

Candidates who have completed the M. Phil programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of commission from time to time.

Reservation is applicable only to Maharashtra domicile candidates provided they submit the necessary documents for reservation before interview. Outside Maharashtra candidates will be considered in open category.

Candidates satisfying eligibility criterion shall be called to appear for the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by MITWPU.

PhD entrance test shall be qualifying with qualifying marks as 50% provided that relaxation from 50% to 45% shall be allowed for the candidates belongs to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/Differently abled category, Economically Weaker section (EWS) and other category of candidates. The syllabus of entrance test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.

The interview/viva-voce will be conducted by the university for test qualifying candidates. For selection of candidates a weightage of 70% to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview/Viva-voce shall be given. For GATE/NET/JRF /SET/GPAT/CEED qualified students, the selection will be based on Interview/Viva Voce

The recommended candidates will be intimated through email about their selection and the candidates will be offered Ph.D. provisional admission.

The eligibility of a candidate is provisional as per information provided by the candidate in his/her application form and is subject to verification of minimum eligibility conditions for admission to the program, educational documents and reservation documents (if any).

University keep rights to cancel admission of the Ph.D. scholars in the case of misconduct by the scholar, unsatisfactory progress/absent for consecutive two progress seminars, failure in any examination related to Ph.D., fabrication found in educational and reservation documents, candidate is found ineligible, involved in plagiarism in paper publications and thesis.

Provisional eligibility to appear in the selection process is no guarantee for admission to the program.

Candidates who will join PhD program full time, they will be provided with the stipend as per MITWPU norms.

*All scholarships are awarded on a first come first serve basis.

*To continue the scholarship for the entire duration of the programme:

a) a minimum level of the academic score has to be maintained at an 8.5 CGPA across all semesters

b) attendance is to be maintained at a minimum of 80 percent

c) there should be no disciplinary action against the student.

The college has a very large campus area, which offers a variety of facilities, such as a library, auditorium, amphitheatre, hostel facilities, and sports amenities, such as dedicated facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, etc. The classrooms vary in technology, with some classes having full modern degradation, while some still don't have it.

The facilities are up to mark and the infrastructure of our college is excellent in all means. Hostels are great and well managed. The food quality is awesome. The canteen is great. Medical facilities are very good and appreciable. There are all most every sport which we can practice them to enhance ourselves

Wi-Fi is average in this college. Laboratory is also very good quality with computers. Classrooms are well-maintained. The library has many books. The quality of the hostel is good as compared to other colleges. The food quality is also better.

Ph d induction (february 27-28, 2024).

The Induction for the Ph.D. Students was organized for a gathering of more than 170 students. Dr. R. Raman, Honorable Vice Chancellor, SIU graced the inaugural ceremony. Eminent Researcher Dr. Dinesh Amalnerkar, Professor Emeritus, SPPU, Pune, Former Brain-Pool Invited Scientist, South Korea and Former Director General, C-MET, India. Dr. Dinesh Katre, Former Senior Director- C-DAC, Pune, Dr. Vasant Bang, Director- DELTA M, R & D Lab, Pune, addressed the gathering. The 20th Convocation ceremony was held on Saturday, 9th December 2023. 86 doctoral students were awarded at the hands of Hon'ble Dr. Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India, Chief Guest for the ceremony.

Dr. Haresh Shah and Dr. Bertil Andersson Former Professors of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore shared their experiences of transforming NTU through research collaborations. Brought CalTech, Noble Committee and Stanford success stories to Symbiosis.

Dr. Yogesh Dwivedi, Professor, Swansea University, UK and Editor-in -Chief of International Journal of Information Management (Elsevier Science, IF 18.95) addressed doctoral students at Symbiosis, Pune. He is a great researcher with 52,000 citations and h index of 116. He took the faculty colleagues in the state euphoria and answered many queries on publishing in high end journals.

The day ( 8 March, Friday) ended with a highly interactive workshop with doctoral students of Symbiosis in hybrid mode.
