Business internships include multiple teams and roles within the business world at Google. Available outside of the united States, the internship is for undergraduate and graduate students with qualifications and application dates varying by location.

STEP Internship

STEP (Student Training in Engineering Program) is a development project that is focused on students that have a passion for technology. Requirements and application dates vary location.

Software Engineering Internship

Software engineering internships are available throughout the globe to undergraduate and graduate/PhD students, with rolling application dates (depending on location). Our interns have a broad set of technical skills, enable them to tackle some of technology's greatest challenges.

Associate Product Manager Internship

Our interns bridge technical and business worlds, designing technology with engineers and then zooming out of lead matrix teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to name a few. The internship is available globally, with varying requirements and application dates.

Veteran Business Internship is designed for students who are direct descendants of Korean veterans. It is a 6-month upskilling program and includes multiple teams and roles in the business world at Google.

We work in close collaboration with academia, with a goal to impact both Google’s products and general scientific progress. Our team in Pittsburgh conducts research in natural language processing, machine learning, image and video understanding, and optimization, and our impacts range from academic paper publications to software systems used throughout Google. Research & Development (R&D) Internships​

As an R&D intern, you’ll work with senior scientists and laboratory management to develop advanced technologies and products in one of 3M’s corporate research labs or business group labs.

Data Science Areas of Focus:

As a Data Science R&D Intern, you will be working with teams to help advance 3M products into new areas where they are more relevant to our customers and markets we serve. Data Science R&D Interns work on projects such connected safety products, digital dentistry, automotive electrification and connected roads.

Core Discipline Areas of Focus:  

As an R&D Intern working in our core discipline areas, you’ll be working with senior researchers on a project that is more focused in technologies and products that 3M is best known for. These include technologies and products that are based on 3M traditional core technologies such as adhesives, abrasives, optical materials, fluorochemicals and advanced polymers.  Or you could be working in any number of 3M’s proprietary process technologies including non-wovens, microreplication, extrusion processing and precision coatings.

The R&D internship program allows innovative individuals the opportunity to work with senior scientists on projects that have real-world applicability. Each intern will have access to 3M’s technological platforms, state-of-the-art scientific capabilities and access to a world-renowned scientific community.​

How long is the program?​

An R&D internship is typically 12 weeks in length, starting in May and running through August.

Where will you be located?​

The majority of R&D internships are located at 3M’s global headquarters in Maplewood, MN. Other assignments could be located in Austin, Texas, and other locations.​

What kinds of roles are candidates hired into?​

As an R&D intern, you will have roles in technology development, product development, technical service and product engineering. Areas of R&D could include: ​

The intern experience

Our internship experience is uniquely designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the role of an analyst as well as the other aspects of the business. During your time at Cleveland Research, we give you the opportunity to have a real impact on your team and the entire research firm. The internship program runs for 12 weeks, and students who are hired are also evaluated for research careers and other opportunities within the firm. As a summer intern, you will work on one of our internal teams, covering a specific industry as well as publicly traded companies within one of our five sectors – consumer, industrial, fintech & payments, technology, and healthcare.

2024 opportunities.

The Physics & Informatics (PHI) Lab is eager to welcome our next class of interns. NTT Research was launched in 2019 for the sole purpose of fostering fundamental research. Our internship program allows every participant to actively contribute to that research while learning from leading minds. Internships duration varies from 3 months to 6 months depending on the project nature and intern preference. Applicants should be physicists, computer scientists, brain scientists and electrical engineers enrolled in PhD programs and have an interest in exploring the interdisciplinary space between quantum information science and neuroscience using optical technologies. Internship forms should be submitted by March 31, 2024 to assure full consideration. In addition to financial compensation, summer housing assistance and travel allowances are available to qualified candidates.

The past two years of internships were conducted in person or remotely, but in the fall we held the Intern Reunion at NTT Research One Campus in Sunnyvale, California, where everyone gathered to share the progress of each project and discuss it with interns, mentors, and PHI researchers. The reunion includes a poster session by all interns and the awarding of the NTT Quantum Researcher Certificate.

The Physics & Informatics (PHI) Lab uncovers fundamental principles and novel technologies that advance our information processing beyond the state of the art. We explore the interdisciplinary space between quantum information science and neuroscience using optical technologies. We foster an environment for physicists, computer scientists, brain scientists and electrical engineers to work together to build a new era of computation framework. Lauder Summer Internship Program (Undergrad)

The Lauder Summer Internship Program is a 10-week program that offers undergraduate students in the U.S. the opportunity to think critically in real-world corporate situations. Students have the opportunity to apply for openings in our corporate functions or at one of our brands, and they will be assigned based on their academic backgrounds and interests once they are accepted into the program. Roles will vary according to business needs.

R&D and Packaging STEM Summer Internship Program (Undergrad, Masters)

The R&D and Packaging STEM Summer Internship Program (12-weeks) offers high-performing Engineering/ Life Sciences students with real-life work experience. Additionally, these high performers receive insights and mentoring from our scientists, engineers, and product developers who thrive on the challenge of formulating and designing new products, packages, and experiences.

CEO Presidential Internship Program (Undergrad, Masters, MBA)

This 10-week summer internship program offers participants challenging and engaging experiences within critical business functions, including Marketing, Online, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Data Analytics, and Creative. Participants work under the guidance and sponsorship of a key executive. This internship program is intended for candidates who wish to be considered for our full-time, rotational CEO Global Presidential Program after graduation.

There are 3 versions of the CEO Presidential Internship Program, each designed for students at a different stage of their education.

• The CEO Global Presidential Associate Internship Program is intended for current undergraduates between their junior and senior years who wish to be considered for the CEO Global Presidential Associate Program post-graduation.
• The CEO Global Senior Presidential Associate Internship Program is intended for students in their first year of a graduate program who wish to be considered for the CEO Global Senior Presidential Associate Program post-graduation.
• The CEO Global Presidential Management Associate Internship Program is intended for current MBA students in their first year who wish to be considered for the CEO Global Presidential Management Associate Program post-graduation.

Meet Past ELC Summer Interns

“I decided to start my career at ELC because I was inspired by the heritage behind the company and its mission to encourage its employees to lead from every chair,” says Brittany, an Associate in Global Product Marketing at La Mer and M·A·C Cosmetics. Brittany was an Integrated Communications and Content intern and graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design.

“During my internship I learned how the HR function uses data-driven methodologies to lead organizational change. I gained valuable skills that I continue to use in my role today as I engage and support ELC employees,” says Brooke, an Assistant Manager, Global Fast-to-Action. Brooke was a Human Resources Intern and graduated from Cornell University.

"ELC allows and encourages me to explore where I want to go in my career, giving me exposure to all facets in the creative field,” says Charlie, a Presidential Associate currently rotating at M·A·C Cosmetics. Charlie was an Experiential Design Intern and graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

“It was important to me to be able to be involved in both the day-to-day work of the team as well as on special projects. I was able to do just that during my internship,” says Kenya, Director, Global Product Marketing at La Mer. Kenya was an Estée Lauder Product Marketing intern and graduated from Harvard Business School and Tuskegee University.

“The R&D internship program was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to be a part of engaging projects, which allowed for the opportunity to work collaboratively across various teams within Packaging and R&D. At all moments I felt fully supported by my team,” says Luis a 2023 R&D summer intern.

"The people at ELC have been the most valuable part of my career thus far. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful, which makes it much easier to work effectively. On every level, it is understood that the sky is the limit and they are there to help in any capacity!” says SeLena, an Associate in Global Product Marketing at Estée Lauder. SeLena was an Estée Lauder Companies Global Corporate Communications and Sustainability Intern and graduated from Howard University.

Global Communications

As a Global Communications intern, you will support our efforts primarily in the digital/social space. This may include collaborating with digital agencies to support asset development and trafficking; spearheading social media monitoring/listening across all social media platforms; brainstorming digital/social content ideas that can be implemented as part of our editorial calendars; and analyzing social media reports to provide recommendations that inform the larger strategy. As an intern, you may attend content development and social media planning meetings to support creative strategy for corporate campaigns. You may also help maintain the corporate website, including copy editing, organizing content, and fact checking, as well as compiling corporate and brand press clips for executive management review.

These are the 25 best internships of 2024, based on pay and career opportunities

• Summer internship season is almost here, and students will soon be filling the most coveted opportunities.
• Glassdoor published a ranking Wednesday of the 25 best internships of 2024, based on interns' reviews.
• It's largely tech, finance, and consulting, and includes gigs with reported pay of $9,000+ a month.

With summer internship season fast approaching, many students and recent grads will soon find themselves in prestigious internships — some of which could actually be pretty lucrative.

A new ranking from workplace review site Glassdoor lays out the best internships of the year, as determined by pay and career growth opportunities, based on reviews and ratings from interns themselves.

The list is dominated by industries like tech, finance, and consulting and includes several internships with reported pay exceeding $9,000 a month.

Companies had to have received at least 30 salary reports and at least 15 career opportunities ratings by US-based interns from April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024, to be considered for the list. The named companies didn't verify the reported compensation and might not be actively hiring for internships right now. But they still offer a glimpse into the most exclusive roles for students and recent grads .
